Popular Post Justin__Harris
Platinum #36: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS4) Game Score: 8/10 Platinum Difficulty: 5/10 Well after claiming that my two favorite games for PS4 since getting it a year ago were the Tomb Raider games, people told me I should tryout the Uncharted series. So the remastered PS4 edition is my first step into the Nathan Drake Collection. I enjoyed the game. It was very fun, had a great story and voice cast. I dug it. But the game is 10 years old, and comparing it to the Tomb Raider series, it shows. I know that's unfair since Tomb Raider came out in 2013, and this in 2007. For the PS3 days, this was probably fucking super bomb. But the expectation of controls and AI on the harder settings was immensely frustrating. I still have to take on Brutal Mode to 100% the DLC, so yeah... fuck. I know that's going to only be worse than crushing. But either way, this was still a pretty solid game. I'm looking forward to taking on Uncharted 2 in the next few weeks. Getting the platinum requires a bit of work, since you have to play the game on its hardest difficulty available. And this is old, last generation, unfair difficulty AI. It's not a super tough challenge, but there will be multiple deaths and tedious collectibles. Fun game! Definitely worth playing. *This was my 2000th trophy Edited January 30, 2018 by Justin__Harris

Popular Post Ala-Arska
Tales of Xillia Lord of Xillia The mark of complete Xillia mastery. Thanks for playing! Another Tales of... game completed. Five down, three more to go, hut hut! The basics are pretty much the same as in every other one in the series. Well, if it ain't broken, eh? So: fast paced combat with artes and combos, earning titles, watching skits, saving the universe, another day at the office. Trophy wise this one runs on the lighter side. No 'Mania' or 'Unknown' difficulty runs needed, it's all Easy peasy lemon squeezy Skit spotting is also sort of removed. After completing the game you can just buy them all and watch them then. I skit you not Getting every item and beating every enemy are toned down as well. There's leeway in completing them and that takes away a lot of stress. Having to do a thousandfold playthroughs is a thing of the past here, too. Only one for Jude the Dude, and one for Milla with mad Skilla! But, like I mentioned, the core elements are intact. And of course Milla has huge bazongas and it's a popular skit topic. Because boobs I did find the sometimes extreme grinding bothersome, but I guess it just comes with the JRPG territory. Milla's voice was a bit "off" too, but not much. For newcomers, Xillia is a good starting game. It has a decent story, excellent characters and smooth curves, learning-wise and Milla-wise

Popular Post jacks
Some quicker and easier platinums before the mighty Persona 5 grind. Platinum #93 Life is Strange: Before the Storm Bring on the Storm Complete all other trophies Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 1/10 A very solid followup to LIS, I think the only thing that it suffers from is not being the first. Perhaps that's why I didn't find it to be as poignant as the first game, but it was still enjoyable and gives a much needed history to Rachel Amber that largely gets talked about in the first game, but never really expanded on beyond being Chloe's friend that just mysteriously disappeared. I think the only criticism of the game I have is that the "talk back" function is kind of silly, and I only used it a handful of times, and it didn't even seem like the outcome of it really impacted anything as, hey, if you fail, the game will throw you a bone somehow to make you succeed. Other than that, excellent game, and I can't wait for more. Platinum #94 South Park: The Fractured But Whole More Powerful Than You Think Complete all trophies in South Park: The Fractured But Whole Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 3.5/10 Here's another game that I think suffers from a "been there, did that" syndrome like the first game in this post. Had this come out first, it would probably be one of the freshest games I have played in a while, but Stick of Truth was a very hard game to be a follow up to, and while I think generally this stands on its own merits (such as the enriched combat system that blends turn based strategy), I think the initial shock and awe of finally seeing a full fledged map of South Park and wandering around it for the first time in its franchise history is now not as imaginative as it was the first go around. Loved the super hero theme, and I generally loved the inclusion of some of the in-jokes from both old seasons and new seasons galore, and overall I loved the game in general and will be returning to it frequently. However, why I gave it an 8/10 as opposed to a 9/10 is because of the weird bugs that pop up every now and then; the rampant audio issues, and I even had one bug that prevented me from using consumables completely causing me to have to close out of the application and restart... yeah... not nearly as polished as the first go around, and I'm honestly not sure what's up with that. On a side note, I guess I didn't find this platinum as carefree and easy as some people made it out to be (PowerPyx even went across to say it was easier than the first game). I guess if it was based off collectibles, and no missables in the game, then yeah, you don't have to keep hovering over a guide like the first game, but there's was some genuinely tough battles in the game, especially on the days after Day 3. It wasn't so hard that it took more than a couple of tries to overcome, but I was surprised at the fight some of the bosses put up, especially on Mastermind. Platinum #95 Jazzpunk: Director's Cut The End Now go outside Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1/10 ... and the award for Ugliest Platinum Image goes to! I love Flash sales. Been meaning to try this out, and that goes beyond just simply playing it for the piss easy, 1 hour platinum. What can I say about this? An hour-to-two-hour long acid trip with a quirky and offbeat sense of humor. I'm not really into the whole "shameful platinum" debate since people do what they want, but I do genuinely think there's far worse that you could do with your time than this... experience. It's not long, it's kind of charming albeit nothing out of this world amazing, but don't pay top dollar for this. Get it on a Flash sale for a couple of bucks, and give it a playthrough; as said: far worse things you could do with your time than spending an hour with this.
Popular Post Icebrand1270
#9 as OohYeah127 XBlaze Lost Memories (PS3) 1/29/2018 5 Plats this month as I rebuild on a new account. Some old and some new but a good month all the same. This game is well-known for having recycled cutscenes from XBlaze Code Embryo and therefore has a well-deserved reputation for being cheaply constructed. I got this via PS+, so at least that helps. The ending is a sentimental one, which is why I did this in my days as Icebrand1270 and why I did it again as OohYeah127. I doubt I will get another Plat this month (my record for Plats in a month as Icebrand1270 was 6, which I did 3 times), but you never know. I continue to rebuild all the same. See you next time!
Popular Post Sylan Vos
#33- Far Cry I have good memories from playing this game on pc a couple of years after it came out and I found it much more enjoyable back then. Unfortunately, the port isn't well done... I had no problems up until the middle of the game but after that the game kept crashing in many missions, which made it very frustrating. The plat itself should be easy but be prepared to have your patience tested ? Edited January 30, 2018 by SharpEU
Popular Post Kuro-Okami
#51 Worms W.M.D Enjoyment: 5/10 Difficulty: 4/10 I remember a time i really loved Worms games. Worms 2 was one of my first games and i remember well how just the installation of the game took half a day. But afterwards i could spent hours in Worms. Over the years i played some Worms games but i never could fell in love with it again. I've given this game a 5/10 enjoyment rate... but that's more for the plat. The game alone would be a 7/10. As a german player the sub goals were insanely frustrating with some missions. Not because they were often that hard. Whoever translated did... he did an aweful job. For example there is a mission that wants me to do this: " Mache einen Wurm mit mindestens 180 Gesundheit fertig". It translates as "defeat a worm with at least 180 health". I killed my own worm with 200 energy and didn't get the goal... finished of a worm and inflicted over 180 dmg... didn't get the goal. What they want you to do is to finish the mission with one worm having at least 180 health... and thats just one example. There are way too many mistakes. But even without them the campain wasn't too enjoyable. The challenges were fun and playing with the new crafting system and with the vehicles also. So the best part about this game is to actually play against friends locally.

Popular Post RedRodriguez87
Safari Guide Well, here's yet another one of these "types" of games. One I bought specifically for the trophies, one that's been on my backlog for a year now, and one that..... I ended up enjoying. For the most part. I'm no animal hunter (and I don't plan to be), but there is something oddly satisfying about hunting big game without the fear of actual death. Course, this game was considerate enough to frame these animals as human-killing man-eating bastards, which really fits the weird action movie vibe it has going. Seriously, we got the gruff unshaven badass with a secret kind heart, the accomplished lady turned love interest, and the obvious villian who exploits the natives and betrays you (kinda). Yep, this will be the 2nd Cabela game I played in my life that I did for the trophies, and the 2nd that ended up saying "that was actually kinda fun". I really am starting to consider watching out for more of these down the road. Except, I may have to find one WITHOUT a ball-numbingly hard shooting gallery trophy. Seriously, the difficulty goes from 0 to 60 in the span of one trophy.

Popular Post Nihiris-
#83 - VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action Jill of all trades Unlock all trophies One of my personal favorite indie games in the past few years. I played this game when it first released on Steam and HAD to double-dip and get this when it released on Vita. Great story (both heartfelt, serious, and hilarious) and phenomenal cast with almost every single character in this game being memorable. And don't get me started on the soundtrack, it's near perfect for the game's setting and mood. If you enjoy story-based/visual novel style games and like the idea of mixing ingredients to make drinks to move the story and conversation along, you owe it to yourself to at least try out this game.

Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum # 131: Midway Arcade Origins (January 11th, 2018) Difficulty: 5/10 Excitement: 8/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 8 - 10 Hours A mixed bag of terrific arcade games and not-so-good arcade games that were quickly forgotten. 31 arcade games are found in this collection. Some good, some bad, some horrible, some being the pioneers for future games to come. But what is likely guaranteed here is this is bound to give any 1980s kid a wave of nostalgia. Simply put, this was a well put together collection for those wanting to relive the 'good old days' of gaming when arcade games were well known to be quarter munchers. Sadly I was far too young to have remembered most of these games, let alone play them and be old enough to visit the arcades on my own. I can likely guess this collection was targeted towards the 40 years and up crowd, who owned an Atari 2600 at home and visited the arcades after school. But that doesn't mean younger generations can't enjoy these games, as I most certainly did. A few games, namely 720, Toobin and Vindicators Part II did not transfer well, due to bad controls. I can imagine that the arcade sticks were unique to those specific games and it would be rather difficult to properly map the controls to the PS3 controllers. Thankfully most of the games did transfer well and they play as well as they ever have. Smash TV is a shining example of a classic that was both fun to play at the arcades and fun to play at home. It's brutal difficulty was enough to keep kids coming back, as some older members here can probably attest to. Most of the trophies are easy to obtain and don't take any more than a few tries. Some of them however require a fair amount of skill and luck to get. Joust and Joust 2 were definitely difficult and both took several attempts for me to earn the trophies. Sinistar was especially frustrating as you have to collect "sinibombs" from asteroids, while UFOs and red ships constantly get in your way. 720 was tough because of the controls not being in the traditional format. Many, many attempts were needed to earn that gold trophy. This was a good collection of games and I had fun playing them. The old school appeal of these games will attract a lot of older gamers no doubt. I definitely recommend this collection. It's more difficult than Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection and some of the games will require a lot of practice to earn their trophies, but it's nothing extreme. Definitely a blast from the past, and I wish more old games were properly ported to modern consoles, as there are a general lack of them. (Arcade Archives doesn't count as there is no challenge involved)

Popular Post monkeydluffy512
#250 Not sure what to say about this title. As far as One Piece fighting games go I definitely prefer the "pirate warrior" games over this one. This game does a good job in representing a lot of characters and their fighting styles. So there is a fair amount of fun to be had, as you mix and match your favorites to make the best team you can. The Platinum is a bit of a grind as you go through matches, but that's expected for this type of game.
Popular Post Lilseb93
#114 - Madden NFL 18 This is now my rarest trophy. Difficulty: 2/10 There's nothing really that hard. It's just time consuming. If you follow a guide for Longshot it's not bad. The MUT trophies are really easy and quick. The rest of the misc trophies are easier than they seem. Just look at videos on how to do them. This is honestly a pretty easy platinum for a Madden game. Enjoyment: 7/10 I mean it's practically the same game every year. It's fine as the only football game, but it would be nice to have competition. I miss NFL 2K. The graphics are good and the game play is solid. Longshot is decent, but I wish we could make a custom character with a real story. Edited January 31, 2018 by Lilseb93
Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #133: Call of Duty Classic (January 20th, 2018) Difficulty: 8/10 Excitement: 8/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 25 - 30 Hours The first Call of Duty game in the franchise, ported over to the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles from the PC original. Probably one of the hardest first person shooter campaigns I've ever played. The story is based on the Allies fighting the Nazis during World War II. The game opens up on D-Day, which was a historical event when Allies stormed the beaches. Much of the game revolves around actual events that happened during the War. You play as three soldiers who fight for the Americans, British and Soviets (Russians) respectively. Not much I can say here. Controls are pretty standard. The L2 and R2 buttons aim and shoot the weapons you're holding. Throwing grenades is pretty straightforward. The controls are basic, so I don't need to really go in depth over them. Unfortunately for Call of Duty Classic, difficulties do not stack if you play on the hardest difficulty first. This means you need to play a minimum of three playthroughs in order to obtain the platinum. Getting the platinum is easier said than done. Greenhorn (Easy), Regular and Hardened (Hard) difficulties have health packs, which recover your health. Since this is one of two Call of Duty games that does not have regenerative health, you have to play smart. There are plenty of health packs scattered through the levels so finding them shouldn't be a problem. Enemies however are relentless, but thankfully they are rather predictable for the most part. The American campaign, which compose of eight missions, aren't too difficult. You'll be mostly with a team of soldiers and they can kill and/or distract the Nazi soldiers for you. Starting with the British campaign there is a big difficulty spike. From here until the end of the game you'll spend most of your time solo, and on higher difficulties it is easy to die in just one - two hits. Eder Dam was the first "tough" mission for me as the entirety of it is done by yourself. An entire legion of soldiers stands in your way as you have to sabotage the dam generators, then return back to the top to meet your allies. Veteran difficulty is a cheapshot. In addition to dying in just two - three shots, there are no health packs. And since there is no regenerative health as I mentioned, you have to play smart and know exactly where enemies are going to spawn. Their dying sound effects sound much the same as when they get injured, which lead to me dying a whole bunch of times from enemies whom I thought were dead. Enemies rarely miss their shots, and if you get hit once and make a checkpoint, you have to beat the rest of the mission with only a portion of your health. And since there are various encounters where they're entirely trial and error, your success largely comes down to luck, with a bit of skill. In other words, I died a lot. As a matter of fact 570 times. It took me three whole days to beat Veteran. Regular took around a few hours and Hardened took a day to beat. There was a lot of frustration when I went for my Veteran playthrough and I had to take a break a few times to prevent my controller from being broken. Beating the last few missions in the Soviet campaign was extremely satisfying, and the platinum itself is very well earned. The voice acting is very good. The soundtrack is great, using tunes during the right moments. Call of Duty Classic arguably has the toughest Veteran campaign due to no health packs or any way to recover health throughout the missions. You have to be patient to earn the platinum, perseverance is key to overcoming the difficulty of this game. There are more difficult games out there, and Veteran is far from impossible. But it is definitely difficult, and very frustrating in certain places. Having to play the game three times in addition to a hard difficulty may turn off a lot of people. But you'll be damn proud of yourself when you finally earn the platinum. Edited January 31, 2018 by Spaz
