Popular Post Mesopithecus
#114. Ratchet and Clank Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with this game, so much so that I'm sad that it's over. It was my first outing with the Ratchet and Clank games after being given a stern talking to by some friends for not playing the series. With it being free on PS+ I didn't want to put off playing it and having it sat in my backlog forevermore. The game looks gorgeous and plays really well, I love all the different weapons you can use and how they change when you level them up. There are some missable trophies, however I seemed to get most of them naturally just through exploring everything the game had to offer. Definitely a fun game
Popular Post Satoshi Ookami
全てのラッキースケベに捧げる ここまで遊んでくれてありがとう! Another Vita anime game, the streak continues To Love Ru... hehe... this anime is quite specific. I know it's bad, everyone knows it's bad, even the author probably knows it's bad but... for some reason, since it was literally my first actual ecchi anime (or at least first one I actually remember =D), I still feel some kind of attachment to it... And yea, big part of the attachment is Mikan =D The root of my love for imoutos and... for obvious reasons, the best girl Also, pink haired Haruka Tomatsu is the best, her non-pink hair roles are inferior Anyway, about the game. First things first, one big thank you to @Leon Hasegawa for his excellent guide that provided everything you need to know to Plat. Despite this not being actually famous anime, the game was really well done. Great combination of VN parts and action parts, neither of them being too prevalent and both complemented each other. The only thing that was a bit overkill was the grinding for room events, not the amount since 135 is quite small compared to other games but... the damn time needed to go from 10 hearts to 2 to farm the low affection events... Gee, that was a pain :/ Not even farming the craft materials was that bad since I had majority of tools already done by the time I started farming =D So I only had to decimate one dragon hundred times All in all, the game definitely surprised me (not in a way that would make me like Haruna or Yui, neither in a way that I love Nana much more now though, evil HidaRina OMG! MUST HAVE MORE OF THIS HIDARINA ) as a whole. I didn't expect much but in the end, it was super fun ride. And it's actually quite recommended for Japanese beginners since the lines aren't really complicated and beginners could probably catch the story without big problems And to celebrate, let's have keeeki Spoiler

Popular Post Izularia
#209 Final Fantasy There isn't too much to say about it, I guess. Most people probably know about the game and love it as much as I do. It's been over 15 years since I've played the game for the first time, but I'm still in love with it. I'm glad that I finally got around to get the platinum and especially finishing the sphere grid grind. The remastered soundtrack wasn't my cup of tea, so I took the chance and changed it back to the original one in the options menu. The OST is still kicking after all these years, Seymour's Theme is probably one of my favorite video game songs. Final Fantasy X-2 is on my To-Do-List as well, even though I'm not looking forward to the "Last Mission" parts.

Popular Post Ala-Arska
Claire (PS Vita) Completionist Acquire all trophies Spoiler As bad as an ending can get. Just do the opposite, guys. Another game involving (in)sanity and creepy images. Now that's just nuts. Gameplay, graphics and sounds are very much like in Lone Survivor. It's a good thing I liked Lone Survivor Claire is very moody, as a person and as a game. This is all about the atmosphere and surviving the horrors ahead of you. Avoid monsters, keep yourself from panicking (when Horrified, you'll lose health and vision) and navigate like Drake. Light is nonexistent, even with with a lighter/flashlight I wasn't able to see shit. Which, of course, made it all the more unsettling ? It almost comes as a given, but do dim the lights from your room and use headphones when diving into this murky world. Immersion 'n stuff. As stated in title, I played the handheld version of Claire (whenever I can, baby, whenever I can...), so two playthroughs were necessary. I didn't mind, though. It's a short ride anyway, and running around in Nightmare mode gave me the much needed sense of dying and fear. Claire is a PS+ freebie right now, so even if this genre ain't your cuppa tea, at least try it out. And it's not that scary...BOO!
Popular Post DiegoMolinams
Plat #48 DJ Hero Collect all other Trophies. Rarity 0.43% Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10 (Personal estimate) 8 years ago, for my 12th birthday, I got this game as a gift from my parents, fell in love immediately with the game. By far the most fun I've had while going for a platinum, loved the challenge, being able to achieve a section of a mix flawlessly after practicing over and over was so satisfying (Of course playing on expert, which gives you the most fun and the whole experience). The soundtrack of this game and visuals are also amazing, I believe this is a highly underrated game. DJ Hero got me into real DJing and into music production, so it had a huge impact on my life, I'm so happy to have this platinum. Popular Post Dragon-Archon
#180: Grand Kingdom Where to begin? I guess with some good things: the online wars are just fights against A.I.-controlled characters from other players. It's possible to transfer stats between equipment, that way it's possible to use the ones players like the most and also trick other people when using weaker weapons. Online wars are also very good to earn lots of exp, gold, and royals (a special currency). It's also possible to use up to 2 characters from other players during wars, it doesn't matter if they're working for a different nation. Wars are also a good place to get flags, but obtaining one is random. There's also a rare Monokuma flag that can only be acquired from a war. There are 17 areas that can be freely explored without being limited to an amount of steps and these have bounties. These are strong enemies that drop blueprints when defeated, which can be used to forge better equipment at a blacksmith. Now for the bad: the game depends too much on RNG for almost everything. Items and equipment received during quests and wars, equipment that's sold in a nation's store, skills that characters learn, abilities that characters have, and which characters can be hired. After completing a quest or a battle in an online war, the characters that can be recruited change. These characters learn some skills, but it's random which pattern it'll choose . Likewise, characters have a passive ability that's also random. There's a trophy for one unit to learn all possible attack and support skills. For the attack skills this requires players to level up multiple units of the same class. Support skills requires at least one unit of each of the 17 classes. Besides that, there's one support skill that can only be received as a reward from a liege. You've guessed it, that's random too as it's possible to receive items and field skills too. There's a way to receive only a support skill, which raises the chance to obtaining it to 1/43. It took 94 hours and 42 minutes before I got that skill . Now to transfer all skills to a single character, there's a mechanic called Gran Grimoire. That basically means a skill can be duplicated and taught to another unit. This sounds really neat, which it is, but there's a requirement: a skill needs to be leveled up to lvl 3 to create a grimoire. Only equipped skills gain mastery when finishing a fight, regardless of they're used or not. A character can have 1 field skill, 7 attack skills, and 4 support skills, though support skills requires SP to equip. Each skill needs 1,000 mastery points to level up once and each fight yields 18 points. It's possible to level up attack skills faster by equipping certain pyroxene. These are items that can be added to weapons and armour and have various effects, such as increasing skill power, reducing skill damage, increasing stats, or increase a specific attack skill mastery. There are 3 types of attack skills (melee, ranged, and arcane) and each one has 3 sub-types. Obtaining the right pyroxene is, of course, random. Support skills can't level up faster though, unless an online war has a Skill+ effect. It's also possible to use an Orb of Training, which makes it possible to create a grimoire with only 1 level of mastery. And yep, these are random and also very rare . But that's not all RNGrand Kingdom has to offer, there is a mechanic known as policy points. These increase the amount of exp, gold, or royals, and requires players to do some tasks. When the player's mercenary rank increases, the amount of policy points increase too as do the requirements for the tasks. I wasn't aware of this at first, so didn't focus on policy points when my rank was low. It's not clear what the requirements are for increasing a mercenary rank, so getting to rank S took a lot of time too. That about covers all the major grinds for the platinum. I also tried to create a perfect unit that has rank S for all 9 stats by doing a Class Up, which was an optional grind. Doing this requires tomes and scrolls that are specific for each stat and obtaining them is random. Story quests always have a tome, scroll, or Orb of Training. A tome increases a stat rank by 2 and a scroll by 1. To use a tome, a character needs to be at least level 30 and a scroll has a requirement of level 20. Using either of these reverts a character back to level 1 and adds extra stat points to invest based on how much a rank increased. This can't be used to learn new skills though, I already tried that. When a stat rank is increased, you'll get bonus points faster. At rank F you need to invest 8 stat points to get a bonus point, while at rank S every 2 points yield a bonus point. Doing this was very tedious, so I only upgraded 6 stats to rank S (see the image in the spoiler below). The results were above expectations though, as the Valkyrie class unit tore through most of the enemies with ease. This is the same unit I used to learn all skills, so it seemed fitting to make it a perfect unit. Doing a Class Up also unlocks extra colour palettes for the armour, but only for that unit and not for other units of the same class. Up to 4 palettes can be added this way and some of the best are among those 4. Near-perfect Valkyrie unit Spoiler This near-perfect Valkyrie unit also helped a lot to defeat a Hero from the previous war. During a war the player from each of the 4 nations that has the most points becomes a Hero and acquires Hero weapons. Defeating an A.I.-controlled Hero rewards a player with a Hero weapon with the Hero's username on it. Heroes only show up randomly after many consecutive victories and it took 3 attempts to figure out a strategy to defeat @Shinumade, which yielded the King's Spike spear (shown in the image above). With the new Hero weapon added to the Valkyrie I was able to become a Hero myself for Landerth (one of the 4 nations) during the 663rd war, which was a nice way to finish up this game. Since I already got a spear, I got the King's Hammer for becoming a Hero, which has my username engraved on it . The bard in Landerth will sing a song about each Hero until the next war ends, which is a nice addition. Becoming a Hero Spoiler The bard's song, in hindsight I really should've picked a better name for my mercenary squad . Spoiler All in all, this game was fun at the start, became boring and grindy afterwards, but trying to become a Hero was fun again. Also if anyone wants to hire the Valkyrie unit, my search tag is Dragon. Note that you have to be at least lvl 94 to hire her. I need more BIOSHOCK
Plat 336 Aaero Second time I've Platted this one and I can't recommend it enough! If you want a fun chilled but challenging game in alot of parts get on this one. You are basically a spaceship that has to try and stay on a track (ribbon as it's called) to various drum n bass tunes increasing your score. There are lots of enemies that pop up that you need to shoot by locking on to. You need to beat the game 3 times on normal, advanced and master difficulty. Once you are used to the tracks it becomes really easy. Master difficulty can be quite a challenge on certain songs as you only have 1 life as opposed to 3 on the other difficulties but once you know when to time your shots it's doable. Really fun game!
Popular Post Lava_Yuki
#21 百花百狼~戦国忍法帖~ ("Nightshade") 任務達成 Time taken: 2 weeks and 6 days. Hours: ~20 hours Difficulty: 1/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 I really enjoyed the story and loved the characters in this game. There was a lot of tragedy in some of the routes, and the bad ends were all tragic but the game was good at giving an idea of how the Sengoku era in Japan was like and people's values then. The story was based on the real life Sengoku era and Iga and Koga clans, with actual historical figures appearing as characters playing the same if not almost identical role to their real life one e.g. Oda Nobunaga, Tokugawa Ieyesu, Hattori Hanzo, Mitsunari, Hideyoshi toyotomi, Goenmon etc. I learned quite a bit of Japanese history from playing this game as I have otherwise no knowledge of it. As far as otome games go, this is indeed very much story heavy with little romance and hardly any CG's or romantic scenes. I was really disappointed as the screen just goes black when anything romantic happens, so you just get text and dialogue as opposed to a CG. Each character had maybe 2-3 romantic CGs, and the rest were normal ones. D3P were very stingy. The characters were great, I liked almost all of them. I played in order of personal preference, ignoring the online recommendations. I went with Chojiro->Hanzo->Kuroyuki->Goenmon->Gekkamaru, and found this way to be perfect in terms of understanding the story, characters and their relationships. If I were to suggest an order, I'd say playing Hanzo before Kuroyuki, and leaving Gekkamaru near the end and after Kuroyuki is good from a story perspective. Music and artwork were beautiful, all very traditional Japanese. Overall summary: short but emotionally impacting with a good balance of love and tragedy. Also a great insight into Japanese history around the Sengoku era and prominent historical figures.

Popular Post X_Wizi_X
#82 Silent Hill 3 In terms of difficulty Silent Hill 3 is nothing compared to Silent Hill 2. In fact, as most of the guides say, killing the last boss with a melee weapon, during the first playthrough, will unlock the infinite machine gun on extra new game, making the game even easier. I suggest to achieve the "finish the game under 3 hours", "with just 2 saves" and "damage below 500 points" trophies as last with the UFO ending. This way you have to complete only half game. The only annoying thing is that SH3 suffers random freezing. Not a bad game after all. Enjoyment: 7.5/10 Difficulty: 3.5/10
stellanovas
#12 - Batman I wish this had only 4 chapters as it seemed to really drag in the middle there, hence why I was put off platting it for so long. I really liked the last 2 chapters, probably the best parts of the game happened there. Another easy Telltale plat - whilst it wasn't my favourite TT game, it wasn't as bad as Game of Thrones. I really liked the cameo of a certain DC villain in there too, it surprised me a bit! Would I play S2? Idk, maybe - I'm not rushing out to buy it anytime soon.
Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #138: Mafia III (March 12th, 2018) Difficulty: 4/10 Excitement: 5/10 Estimated Time to Platinum 50 - 55+ Hours (70 - 80 Hours Overall) Finally got this game fully completed two nights ago. For what the game was, Mafia 3 was bogged down with extremely repetitive gameplay that was only barely worth it just to see the story unfold. You are Lincoln Clay. Returning from the Vietnam War, he finds his family in trouble. After the Black Mob is gunned down by the Italians running New Bordeaux, Lincoln decides to get help from CIA agent John Donovan to help take down the city, district by district. With a thirst of vengeance, Lincoln Clay must rely on three underbosses to give him all the help he will need. I found the controls to be standard. Nothing too awkward, which is always refreshing since every open world game I've played has had a different control scheme. Graphics are fairly decent, although at times pop ins and graphical glitches come up every once in a while. Even with the latest patch, Mafia III is still buggy and glitchy. Unfortunately the gameplay did not do much to wake me from boredom, in fact I was bored for much of the entire game. Whereas in Mafia II you led Vito Scaletta on a series of short but varied missions working for his bosses, here in Mafia III you have to take down the various districts by doing the same series of objectives as Lincoln Clay, over and over. Destroy smuggled goods. Interrogate informants. Find money stashes. Kill enforcers. Find parts for wiretaps and wiretap junction boxes. If that doesn't sound varied enough then you better get used to doing that because that's what you're going to be doing for the vast majority of Mafia III. There are 10 districts (one is neutral), and you will be fighting to gain control of 9 districts. To break this down this is how you approach Lieutenants and later Capos... 1. Get intel on Lieutenant or Capo in a particular district by John Donovan 2. Talk to two people in said district, who both intel you on the two criminals who work rackets for the Lieutenant or Capo 3. Go around the district collecting parts for wiretaps, of which you need three parts for every wipetap on a junction box 4. Do the objectives to lower the racket value until it is $0 5. Go back to the NPC and discover where the criminal is holed up 6. Go to area, kill off a hoard of enemies, gun down said criminal 7. Either kill the criminal or get him to work for your racket. If you didn't wiretap the area where he is located, Lincoln automatically kills him. 8. Assign a racket to one of three underbosses 9. Repeat steps 4 - 8 for the other racket in the district 10. Talk to Donovan on whereabouts on Lieutenant or Capo 11. Do said mission, eventually killing off the man in charge of the district 12. If you killed a Lieutenant, you will receive intel on Capo who serves as the boss of the Lieutenant 13. Assign the district to one of your underbosses 14. Repeat steps 1 - 14 for the other 8 districts After your family is killed, this is what you are doing. Only the missions involving going after the bosses in charge of the district have any sort of variety. To make matters worse you are required to do two playthroughs simply because you have to assign 16 racket bosses to your districts, and kill off 18 racket bosses (two bosses are automatically killed no matter what you do). This makes the platinum go from 20 - 30 hours to well over 40 - 50 hours, depending on how fast you are taking down the rackets and wiretapping the junction boxes. If you mess up by accidentally killing or saving a racket boss, expect to spend more time on this game. I ended up screwing up early on in my first playthrough so I had to repeat the game in addition to a second playthrough, which made things frustrating for me. Mafia III is one of those games that is bogged down by it's trophy list. A game this repetitive is usually only good for one playthrough, but since you have to make two playthroughs for the platinum, it becomes a long list of chores that is overly dull and just boring. By the time I got down to the last two Capos on my kill playthrough (second) I just wanted this game to be over. The DLC, while more varied, isn't all that much better. I've had three trophies glitch on me which forced me to delete my older saves and profile save. There are also a few kill based trophies that don't do anything to make this game more exciting. Two of the three DLC packs require you to grind and just wait things out since you have to build both a grow house (herbs aka marijuana) and Sammy's Bar to their fullest. As you'll be spending a lot of your money refilling ammo, hiring body guards and getting car upgrades, you may not have enough money to get all the upgrades. Once you got past the gameplay aspect, the story is definitely worth looking at. There is strong character voice acting, with Lincoln Clay and John Donovan being seemingly almost lifelike with how they perceive their world and how they interact with the story and the characters. The documentary style scenes with Father James speaking of how things were was a very nice touch and they remind us that the 1960s was a very turbulent time period. Events such as the Vietnam War and the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr are discussed in the story, and makes Mafia III to be more than just a big sandbox game with nothing going inside it. All of the characters from Lincoln Clay to Vito Scaletta to Sal Marcano do a terrific job portraying their roles. The voice actors were fantastic in bringing the characters to life. Fleshing out the environment and the setting is the soundtrack. I fell in love with this soundtrack, with songs from such legends as Elvis Presley, Little Richard, The Beach Boys and Johnny Cash among others. Apart from the story the soundtrack is the single best feature of Mafia III. Most of all the songs in this game helped define the 1960s, a time when social values were changing and Americans were clamoring for ways to end the Vietnam War. If you enjoy good classic rock, soul and country music, then you'll definitely enjoy the music featured in Mafia III. Mafia III is not a bad game in my eyes, but the gameplay left me with a sour taste in my mouth. After the initial first few hours of this game there is really not much variety as you will be doing the same tasks over and over for all the districts. I felt the mission structure in Mafia II was much better because you weren't confined to the same tasks, you went to different areas of the map and did different tasks. This made the game a lot more enjoyable for me because it wasn't repetitive, and apart from collecting all those Wanted posters, I really enjoyed Mafia II (at least the base game). But here in Mafia III, you're subjected to the same repetitive gameplay. The DLC as I said before is more varied, with the Stones Unturned DLC being overall the best in my opinion. But it doesn't do a lot to save this game from being a boring slog, and after a while I just wanted the entire game to be done and over with. The game is cheap now, with the Season Pass being a fair price if you buy the Deluxe Edition. If you don't mind repetitive gameplay I would definitely give Mafia III a good look, but if you're someone who prefers variety in their gameplay, then stay away. Overall, Mafia III is barely above average, hopefully Hangar 13's next game won't be so repetitive. Edited March 18, 2018 by Spaz

Popular Post Lillia
#8 Final Fantasy XV Difficulty: 6/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 Time Taken: 4 months, 1 week People have been waiting around 10 years for this game and what can I say? 10 years worth waiting. Since I was like 9 years old and didn't hear of Final Fantasy then I obviously didn't have to wait so long but still. It's a good thing they cancelled Versus XIII to make XV instead. After I watched Kingsglaive I was so eager to start XV! The game has it's flaws but I absolutely loved it and enjoyed every second of it. It's been a long time since I enjoyed a game that much so it's of my favorites right now. And I absolutely adore the soundtrack, they did an amazing job with it! The characters are very lovable especially the protagonist, Noctis. and the bond he has with his companions and childhood friends is beautiful. Trophies weren't so hard although some of them were pretty annoying like Maximize fishing level. Spoiler Alert: Spoiler The final boss battle with Ardyn was pretty hard for me because I thought Ifrit was the final boss battle so I let myself use almost all the potions I had and I ended up with like 4 potions to keep me alive against Ardyn. Last trophy I needed for the platinum was Tortoise Toppler, where you need to kill the adamantoise. It was easier than I thought it would be because I'm only level 68 and he's level 99 so I prepared myself for a 2-3 hour battle. But I tried the ring of Lucii on him out of curiosity and after 25 minutes I cut down half of his life with it and he suddenly vanished, I wasn't expecting that at all. I killed him without even moving ^^"
