I finally did it (twice). First I‘ve beaten the game. For me it was harder than the first part.

The story related and collectible trophies were not so easy to earn. In my opinion the

time trials were a bit – just a little bit – easier, but challenging. The „Bear“ levels are

a pain in the butt.

Second I reached my goal. I started in the year 2018 with only three platinum trophies.

My personal goal was to reach 50 platinums within this year. And I‘m happy that my 50th

trophy is this handsome baby. Now my next project is Crash Bandicoot Warped.

Huh.. I could still remember the time when I was excited about this game. I thought "hmmm... I hated htol#niq, maybe I would like this one", and... Nope, I dislike it, maybe even hate it as well. Heh, I actually stalled this game lots of times, I just noticed that I still have this game stalled when I forgot to switch back ToCSII cartridge and I needed to pass some time. And well, free some spaces as well on my Vita.

 

I actually liked the plot to be fair, pretty dark like htol, and lots of bloods. What I disliked about this game is the controls, add it with Time Trials = hours of cussing and frustrations. Like, it took me lots of times just to nail the boss fights and oh boy, let's not talk about the Library

 

Would recommend? Sure, if you like platformers + puzzles. Or if you want, you could just simply make me hate you and I'll probably send this game to you along with htoL#NiQ.

 

Please tell me that Yomawari is waaay much better than htol and this game .

Titan Quest

 

Not a bad game, but it's the first i've played that had patches that seemed to be playing defense against making the game better. The first one broke some story missions so I got stuck at the final boss, the next one fixed that but random pieces of equipment would disappear, and the latest patch seems to have fixed all the problems. It still crashes a bit much, and loses textures at times but is playable and more importantly plat-able. So if you like Diablo clones with a few bugs, this game may be for you.

Having played 36 Fragments of Midnight, I was intrigued to see what they would do with the sequel.

This game is completely different and plays a lot like Angry Birds.

Some levels are purely luck/skill based, but they can be easily done with target practice (and a few flukes).

I found the aiming to be a little more challenging on the Vita, so I'm glad I got that out of the way first.

But that's a word search game, not crossword.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

I love Dissidia. Dissidia and Duodecim are 2 of the games I've spent hundreds of hours on my PSP. It has been years of patiently waiting for the Console version of this game since the release of thebgame in arcade and since rumor has surfaced about the Console rrlease of this game. I was ready to accept that time that I know that this game will have lits of MP stuffs and it is probably one pf the game that I will not plat. Luckily, some people found out to do it solo. 

 

Was it worth the wait? Yes. Of course I do still prefer the 1v1 battle like in the PSP games but I still enjoyed playing this game. It had lots of grindfest and lots of hours patiently waiting in lobby though, but aside from that, being able to see these FF characters on HD is pure joy for a FF fan like me.

 

Would recommend? Sure, if you are fan of the series, or if you enjoy 3v3 fights and MP stuffs. 

 

Would I still play the game? only if they put Vivi. Seeiously, just give me Vivi. It's all I need. Also, a new Theatrhythm is always welcome .

What a fun, creative and beautiful little game this is!

I was so pleasantly surprised when I first started playing. The premise is simple and the game gets more challenging as you play.

The story, albeit not narrated or voice acted, is profound and quite moving.

As you look back on their past experiences together, seeing the friendship and bond between the two characters is touching.

You can tell how much they mean to each other and that makes the whole thing really bittersweet.

The music is beautiful and the scenery is luscious. I had a lot of fun playing through the different levels.

Rather than making a new post, I thought I'd just add this on here too.

I "played" this on the PS4 and I didn't realise until recently that the trophies actually stack, so I did this again on my Vita.

I was much faster at completing the normal mode due to having the advantage of the touch screen.

Once again, I used the exploit to milk the trophies from the Time Attack and Infinity modes.

The main puzzles were easy to breeze through using a guide.

#279 - Bully

I'm not a huge fan of Rockstar, so I wasn't really sure going into this whether or not I'd like it. I'd seen it described as having the spirit of Harry Potter without the magic (obviously). From that, and knowing about the day/night cycle mechanic, I went in expecting a game where you do classes and interact with peers during the day, and progress the main story sneaking around at night after curfew. That's not what I got, unsurprisingly, but I'm okay with that.

 

What I got instead is a game where you have to balance your missions around your class times - if you start a lesson at 8:45, for example, you may not finish it in time to attend your 9-11:30 class. This was a pretty interesting mechanic and I enjoyed it a lot more than something like Persona, where you have to choose between options like bonding with classmates or eating or studying, etc. In this, you can do it all if you manage your time correctly. Unfortunately the mechanic becomes obsolete pretty quick, because there's no reason to attend lessons after finishing them 5 times and getting every ability from them.

 

I liked how small and compact the game was, it may just be because of hardware limitations, but it meant that traveling from place to place didn't take forever, and it wasn't filled with pointless bloat. A lot of the side activities were genuinely enjoyable which was pretty shocking after playing L.A Noire, which was literally void of anything to do outside of main missions and finding useless golden reels, and GTAV where none of the side content is interesting or fun at all. Games are too large these days tbh.

 

Story was nothing particularly special but it's a step above what I was expecting from Rockstar. I hate all the characters in GTAV and L.A Noire was pretty forgettable overall, but the characters here all felt distinct and unique without being shitty over the top tropes like Trevor and Franklin, which made them far more likable. It also seemed surprisingly short but I suppose I shouldn't expect a PS2 game to be super lengthy. I would've liked some more side missions to flesh out some of the students that we never even really interact with (speaking of which, it's pretty neat that every student in the game is unique instead of being copy/paste nameless models. The differences are barely distinguishable for some students, but they're definitely uniquely named - the yearbook requires you to photo every student, so clearly some work went into making sure the same person wasn't running around in two different places like in other open world games.)

 

I'm surprised by how much I liked this game and I'm glad I gave it a chance despite my lukewarm reception to L.A Noire and my extreme disappointment with GTAV. I was going to skip it, because Rockstar, but the HP comparisons I kept seeing and the fairly unique premise caught my attention. I'm not sure I trust modern Rockstar with a sequel, but if it does happen it'd at least be interesting to see where they go with it.

Rockstar Games wasn't involved with LA Noire until later. Team Bondi from Australia developed LA Noire and it was praised for it's facial technology which was considered ahead of it's time, which a lot of game developers have emulated in the years since. Cole was played by Aaron Staton of Mad Men fame, they used all angles of his face and head to capture the facial movements.

 

Unfortunately Team Bondi had poor working conditions, much like TellTale Games and thus from what I've read Rockstar Games had to pitch in to get the game shipped. Shortly after Team Bondi went out of business, which is a shame because a sequel/prequel to LA Noire would benefit a lot from today's technology, namely 4K resolution on a PS4 Pro.

 

A lot of people associate Rockstar Games with LA Noire simply because of the label on the front cover. The game was quite different from most of Rockstar's offerings in that you couldn't just shoot anybody you wanted.

It seems Namco has been trying to catch lightening in a bottle a second time ever since their 2002 release Soul Calibur II. While I think Soul Calibur V is a much better game than Soul Calibur IV, that doesn't mean it holds the charm and magic that is well known in the franchise's earlier titles. Just another tale of souls and swords eternally retold. Where do I begin? Well, you're going to have to defeat 240 CPU opponents of various difficulty in Quick Battle mode. Sometimes the A ranked opponents can really get the best of you. I recommend a cheese method with Viola, which consists of this combo (?,?,?,⬆️+? when orb is set). Rinse and repeat, it's a great way to get back at the CPU. Sad to say, Quick Battle mode isn't even the worst part of the grind, more on that later. There is Story mode and Arcade mode, which have fairly easy trophies. Plenty of miscellaneous trophies that will pop as you play normally. Online play is required to pop the platinum. Best done trading wins with a boosting partner in ranked matches, you'll need 50 wins each. You'll both reach D1 rank trophy after you play a good 100 matches, which is also a trophy. To narrow down your searches, be sure to both select a country within the game's main menu via "edit license" to something like Turkey. You should both search by "similar rank" "any connection" and make sure one prefers the left while the other chooses right. Be on the lookout for each other's titles or else you may end up with a person you don't want to fight. @Honor_Hand and I knocked out all the online trophies within an afternoon, so it's fairly easy to do with the right partner. By the time you experience everything the game has to offer you and think you're almost free... think again. The dreadful grind is still upon you. Three trophies block the light at the end of the tunnel. Reaching max player level, travel 87,600 m in total movement distance and landing 20,000 hits. These will add hours upon several more hours to your platinum journey. Some sick baffoon at Namco thought it would be funny to outright waste our time with these grinds. There are methods for taking care of all these very easily with a turbo controller, but in case you don't have one and have to do it manually, prepare for pain. Taking care of 20,000 hits is simple enough, just keep grabbing your opponents with Voldo's front grab. It's a quick 6 hits every time. Traveling distance is a bit more tricky. Choose Voldo again, go into Quick Battle and select a low rank opponent like "Hinata" who fights on Hilde's stage. You want this stage because it infinitely scrolls. Rubber band your joystick so it's constantly going backwards, and because Voldo walks backwards the fastest, you'll pop this awful trophy sooner rather than later. If you don't have a turbo controller, you'll need to press  to confirm your rematch every 3 or 4 minutes, that way you'll continue to walk backwards again. Now you need to reach player level 99. Select Nightmare and go into Quick Battle, select the opponent "BloodyFrosty." He is a really low rank and fights on Siegfried's stage. Walk backwards, front grab the CPU when he runs up to you at the edge of the bridge, Nightmare will throw him off every time. Rinse and repeat till the end of time. You'll be doing hundreds of more matches to reach level 99 but this is the fastest method I know of without a turbo controller. I say grab some drinks, put on a favorite TV show off to the side and tough it out. Please be aware that none of your stats are recorded in Training or Offline Versus, just pretend those modes don't even exist. Soul Calibur VI is right around the corner as of October 8th 2018. Let's pray it involves no such grind like the one I just finished. It would be nice if it was an absolute breeze to complete like Tekken 7 or be half as good as Soul Calibur II. Will Namco be able to reclaim the spark that the series once held? There is one thing we all know for certain, the legend will never die.

I'm actually getting a little emotional as I sit here trying to collect my thoughts on this game. It's hard to put into words just how much I loved it. The first VC game is one of my all-time favourites, and now that I've played VC4 to completion, I can honestly say that this game is even better!

 

It follows Squad E during Operation Northern Cross, a daring operation that tasks them with going deep into enemy territory and reaching their capital city blitzkrieg-style. So cool! I really grew attached to the squad through all the good and bad times they went through to the point where I was legitimately tearing up on more than one occasion, especially towards the end. I love them all dearly.  Some very cool antagonists too. It's also a long game - it took me over 30 hours mostly just focusing on the main missions and another 30 hours to finish up everything else. I definitely got my money's worth!

 

I really do adore the tactical nature of the gameplay. There are so many ways to approach a mission and it's a blast trying to figure it out by yourself. It's also fun trying to rush through a mission as fast as humanly possible to get a good rank, even if it's only by the skin of your teeth.  It isn't just a straight copy & paste of the old games too because it adds a new class: the Grenadier, along with the APC and a few new mechanics. The watercolour painting artstyle is as beautiful as it has ever been; it won't ever age visually like most other games will. There's a good chunk of this game that takes place in the snow which not only looks pretty, but it introduces interesting gameplay mechanics too. Also winter outfits! 

 

I would have gotten the platinum a lot sooner, but I was kind of forced to take a break from it right at the end due to some misinformation/lack of facts about how a certain something unlocked. That has been resolved now thankfully, so I get to share my thoughts on this amazing game. 

 

I'll never forget all of the adventures I had with Squad E... sayonara.

First time playing this since I basically missed out on the PS3 era. Heard a lot of things about it. Mostly positive, with a few people whom just didn't dig it. I'm the former on this though. Great story, characters you care about, and just a really damn good game. Probably one of my favorite games, and I'm very much looking forward to playing Part II whenever the heck it comes out. Naughty Dog pretty much can't do any wrong. The platinum isn't difficult, but it is immensely tedious. Because of course it has multiplayer trophies for a single-player game. And you will be playing at least 168 matches? Screw that. I boosted like so many others because I shouldn't be forced into an inconsequential game mode to force multiplayer popularity. So with that being said, much appreciation goes to: Anonaku, DessieB93, Djoudjou11, FamilyGamers4321, grifftersan, Hartshorn2, iTSGEEZUS323, KingSuperOne, makka77pakka, Marina_Pearl, neoshinmeiryu, RedDead3001, SouL_ReLease, w_OjtAsZek, xylon1911, Y-B-o-B. A great game, as good and challenging as the previous one. The Crucible and one specific key (in Jade Temple, I think) were quite difficult and took me many retries to pass them, but the game on hard mode thankfully didn't give me any troubles.
