Popular Post blu3st4rdust305
Life is Strange - PS4 (#117) I am always surprised when I start a narrative driven game. It reminds me of how much I enjoy a well crafted story with matching gameplay mechanics. From the publisher and developers logos in the intro of the first Chapter, I was gripped. For the vast majority of the game, the story was very developed with interesting, believable characters and relatable challenges. The very end was problematic for me, but it hardly detracted from the journey. Now to forget how much I enjoy this type of game so that I am pleasantly surprised in the near future. ? Popular Post Icebrand1270
50. Shenmue 10/19/2018 It's been a rough journey for me since having to start anew as OohYeah127 after losing my original PSN account (Icebrand1270) to a bank card hack last year. I have gone through anger and loss and self-doubt and wondering if I would ever hunt trophies again. Then I got back to it and did some interesting things (and some bad games too). I even became the "1st in the World to Plat a Game" with 8 To Glory. Now in the 13th month of my "new career", I make it back to 50 Platinum Trophies! Why did I pick Shenmue? Truth be told, I didn't have any other worthy candidates around. All the other ones within striking distance were too easy, too unworthy. As I said, my Plats in this new account have been much easier on average than my old one. Shameful, to be honest. My thoughts on Shenmue? The story brings people to the game, even now after the Dreamcast has long since faded into history. The graphics are NOT updated (I didn't care but many modern-day gamers do). The plot is slow at first (as is well-known) but picks up about a third of the way through. This was one of the first games to use QTE events... and boy are they the tough variety. No minimap either... not that games had them back then but just letting you know. Without spoiling it, this classic martial arts revenge tale has action, investigation and some cool characters (just my opinion). As I said, play for the story. The action is good, mind you, but the story is front and center. This is what made it special to Dreamcast players all those years ago. So, what's a guy who's clawed back to 50 in 13 months to do? A break, naturally. I'll be back before you know it, though!

If you like the show you'll love the game as it's like plying an extra long episode. Plenty of Easter eggs thrown about. Popular Post Lars
Finally found some time to make my review for this game #159: Prototype 2 This is another really fun open world superpower playground of which there are some more, mainly the Infamous series springs to mind when playing this one. I liked the Infamous series more because the powers were a bit more fun to use and mainly because the main character was a bit more easy to control when flying and climbing. The controls in Infamous were more fluid then in Prototype. I didn't play Prototype 1 because of my massive backlog and the difficulty of that platinum. In this game you play again as a prototype human which has some special qualities in a city which is haunted by a massive virus that kills of many people. I'm not 100% sure if Heller (main character) is also infected with that virus but he is at least an evolved human, therefore he has all those superpowers. Hellers main power is to consume other people, this way he can shift between himself and the human he consumed, this can be used to do things stealthy or to use these people to enter closed facilities. There are also important people/enemies that can be consumed for new powers, extra xp or to get new side missions. Story isn't that interesting with Heller wanting his daughter back from an organisation. The gameplay is fun, you feel that Heller is getting stronger and stronger everytime you upgrade a level or a power because the upgrades are good and noticeable. The different powers are also very fun to use against enemies. When you have Heller fully upgraded the game is really easy because Heller is really overpowered then. All the powers make short work from the different enemies, they are Claws, a Blade, a ground spike, a sort of leash which is very powerful and an attack that you can fire of at enemies which then sticks them and bangs other items into the enemies. These can all be upgraded. The open world is decent, most buildings are pretty general but it is still fun to traverse it with your movement powers, you can fly, wall run and hover your way around the city. You also can use tanks and helicopters. Next to your body powers you can also use the weapons that are dropped by military enemies, generally these are assault rifles, rocket launchers or grenade launchers. In this game it is also advised to go for collectibles because every small set that you complete gives you an upgrade choice so that is an easy way to upgrade your character. Also a very good use of collectibles. The trophies are all very easy to get because the hardest difficulty one can be done on new game plus with OP Heller. Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 9/10
RedRodriguez87
PS4 #170: Trophied Career Cars 3 is essentially a reskin of Cars 2. So that means that once again, you are getting a great racer. The only nitpick I have with it is that one trophy that requires you to play a a whopping 80+ races for one trophy. I mean, there is some very nice variety, but after a while its like blegh. That's much more of a grind than filling out your Hall of Fame. Other than that, its the best kind of trophy list; one that encourages exploration of the game and its mechanics. #171: Platinum Jack N' Jill Super quick, super easy, and yet so much more satisfying than the longest and grindiest of plats. This game looks like something you would play on the old Gameboy, both in terms of graphics and music. It's like Sigi, in that you are playing a retro game, with all the retro charm, but not of the retro frustrations such as cheap difficulty. I know difficulty plays a big part of the older games, but in this day and age when I don't have the time and patience to master a demanding game, I always appreciate games like this. *sigh* that being said, I still wanna try Halloween Forever.......
straysheep87
#295 - Planet of the Apes Last Frontier (PS4) Finally finished this game. I love Telltale games, so seeing they shut the doors make me sad, because when I see a interactive/narrative game so awful like this Planet of the Apes, I realize that only Telltale could make great games in this style. This Planet of the Apes is absolutely annoying, boring and dull, all the characters are forgetable and the voice acting was awkwardly bad. My advice: avoid this!
Popular Post DamagingRob
#355- PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate Great Shot Kid! Collect all other trophies Well, this was a game I'm glad I didn't pay money for. :/ Really didn't like much about it, and felt like it took forever. When the trophy guide here said 3/10 and 10 hours to Plat, I thought it would be a pretty short and easy game. But it was far from it.. Most of the boss levels took me close to or over an hour each. I even broke the counter that tells you how long the level took. It maxes out at just shy of an hour. Although, it might be easier in co-op. The videos I used to find some things were played with 2 players, and I noticed when one of them died, they'd simply respawn. Meanwhile, whenever I died, I was sent back to the beginning of the area, and everything was reset. Meaning I had to collect all the scientists and diamonds in that area again and again, trying not to die in the process. Terrible soundtrack, too. Had Spotify going to save my sanity. Not much more to say, but I did upload videos of my successful runs of the final boss and secret level: Spoiler I still don't know how that lava in the secret level didn't kill me. My ship caught on fire twice, and the fire magically went away. At least I don't see any water that would have put it out, and stopped my ship from crash and burning.. So yeah, glad to be done with this one. Thanks again to @snakebit10 for helping with the online. Platinum screenshot: Spoiler

Popular Post Cave Johnson
IA/VT COLORFUL プラチナトロフィー 全てのトロフィーを獲得する This took much longer than I thought, but that's probably because I haven't played it much in the last two weeks. I was slowly chipping away at the last few trophies during that time. Playing all the songs on Easy is probably the worst part of the platinum. Normal is easy enough; Easy is just painfully boring. Step up play on Hard is the hardest part, but even then there were only a few parts where I got stuck and had to retry a couple times. As for the game, it often gets compared to Project Diva — and I can certainly see why — but it is actually quite different. The d-pad, for example, counts as four different buttons rather than being mapped to the same inputs as the face buttons. The notes are on a "track" of sorts, but that doesn't mean it's easier. There are often multiple tracks at the same time, and they move around a lot (especially on Hard). I wanted to get a better platinum screenshot, but it didn't go exactly as planned: That's more fines (and three safes :/) than I would've liked to get.
Popular Post blu3st4rdust305
Truck Racer - PS3 (#118) This became a black eye for my completion rate. Such a short, easy platinum outstanding for 6 months... Took a while to get back into the drifting, bumping, smashing mechanics of the game. Overall, the game was not too bad or too tough with the exception of a few time trail events which became infuriating. This is plagued by the same-ness that pretty much all racers carry. The controls and tracks start feeling too familiar to the point of repetitiousness. Meh. At least its finally at 100%.

Popular Post MakotoKaCun
Platinum # 64 Blue Reflection Brilliant Etoile Is not a very polish game but still have fun playing it. It just a short game about magical girl fighting evil and making friends. Thing start to get interesting after chapter 5 when you have access to more stuff to do. I think i overpower myself in the beginning, making a lot of boss easy to defeat. Only the boss after chapter 8 will start to get harder and also the side mission boss "???". I did enjoy myself with the game, i really like the UI choice and the overall art style for the game. If you like the game feel free to try it also when the price is cheaper ><

Popular Post Bumperklever
Hey another long ass plat. And the first PS3 plat after 1.5 years for me.. #78 Twisted Metal (PS3) I am Sweeth Tooth Date Achieved: 21 October 2018Rarity: Ultra Rare (0-1%)Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Well here is the one that was coming, later then expected since that stupid TMA trophy kept glitching on me... The multiplayer grind was long and not fun like any MP grind, buuuuuut the game is setup so that you can just afk if needed, i like that more then taping. But the game itself is fun! Its a cruel game, but highspeed shooting with blood all over the place and "heavy metal" in the background cannot not be fun. And thats it I really loved it, I really think this is a hidden gem and that I would like to play it when it first released (without the die hard people) Highly skillbased, but still dumb as it can be, explosions everywhere, would be a nice "I don't want to think game" while still requiring a lot of practice and get yourself a beer. But I am happy, platwise, that the infinity ammo glitch is a thing, otherwise it would take hours or days longer then it did now.
