Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #153 SoulCalibur VI A New Story of Swords and Souls Obtain all trophies. Fuck Astral Fissures. Not only are a lot of them cheap (the user ones at level 44 were fine, since the rules for the match applied to you and the AI. Rather than just unfairly stacking against you with bullshit like having the enemy permanently soul charged, and with full meter... or critical chance up + critical damage up. In the end Cervantes' weapon proved spammy and useful, still had problems with some of the level 90 enemies and the b/s health drains I kept getting... But, I think the worst part might just be getting the fissures to spawn. It's so tedious. It's one thing to just do them back to back to back, 30 times. (probably well over a 100 including my retries~) But you have to travel to missions, and do battles just so new things will spawn in. It's just bad design. I don't know why any developer does things this way. Reminds me of that bullshit in the Seven Deadly Sins game, or Ni no Kuni 2 with the shitty RTS-ish minigames on the map. I played for straight 3+ hours and that's in addition to off and on earlier in the morning with breaks for my frustration to wear off... it shouldn't take so damn long. Doesn't help you can't track trophies, Sony rip that off already... sheesh. Anyway, apart from the stress of the damn Astral Fissures in Libra of Souls and the ranked online wins [I suck], it was fun to get everything else and I loved the game. It was the first SoulCalibur I really sunk my teeth into, I played a few hours of SCII on PS2 [and at a demo kiosk back in the day]. I have the copy still, but just haven't really played it. Kind of regretting that now since its' fun. Looking through the history there's some cool characters I wish were in this one. That one from SCV with the magic ball thing looks up my alley. Music was great. I wish the game had a bigger budget so there could've been more cutscenes, or more artwork used in the character story mode [forget what it's called... might actually just be story mode now that I think about it? idk, I'm bad with remembering things]. This was the only fighter I was half way decent at blocking in. One other criticism I have though is that they don't let you rematch while playing solo without losing first, why? Let me pause and rematch since things started so badly... but nope. :? Glad to have that done. 2B's weapon was fun, just wish I could've gotten a better leveled one in Libra. I don't like randomized drops like that. If the purchasable ones weren't so shitty, then it wouldn't be as big of a deal. But 90% of the weapons I got gave bonuses for evil and I was good on my main character. Come on RNGesus...
Popular Post Lava_Yuki
Life is Strange Before the Storm: Bring on the storm Difficulty: 1/10 Time taken: 5 hours, completed it in 3 days Enjoyment: 8/10 Although it's just a drama adventure game without any actual gameplay, I loved the first game and really enjoyed this game a lot more in terms of story and characters. Chloe was my favourite character (wasn't a huge fan of Max tbh), so found her general bad mouth and behaviour, the fights and all the trouble she gets into really entertaining. It was also good to know about her past and who Rachel was, especially since she was such a mystery in the first game. The downside was that I found the controls and moving around quite awkward in this game, She walked really slow and her running speed was not much different. Another thing is only auto save, no manual save which I don't like.
Popular Post SirDave1988
# 97 Spyro 3 : Year Of The Dragon (PS4) Party like it's 2024 Win all trophies in Spyro 3 First time ever playing the last game in the original Spyro trilogy, and it was pretty damn good. It's pretty much the best elements of the previous 2 games come together to make the best game that they could on the limited hardware at that time. I also saw some nods towards Insomniac's future title, Ratchet & Clank. The skateboarding race with the boost for doing tricks was the biggest similarity that I noticed. What I enjoyed the most about the 3rd title was the increase of variety this time around, with several different playable characters available at certain points, including Sparx which was very much deserved haha. Not too sure about the skateboarding sections, but Tony Hawk was one of the biggest titles in gaming at that time, so I understand it's inclusion. I was planning to make the plat for this my 10,000th trophy overall, but I think the name for a future plat I'm working on is more fitting... (Not the best image ?) (... I understood this reference ?) Edited December 19, 2018 by SirDave1988

Popular Post Karl-Kai
Spyro the Dragon Gnasty's Demise There's no nostalgia power to up my Spyro gaming experience, but nevertheless I found this fun to bumble through. Collecting gems was satisfactory, and I enjoyed the way how the levels were designed; they let you explore and uncover secrets in a space that felt expansive despite really being pretty small. Most of the time the game was very laid-back and allowed me to just breathe in its general atmosphere, but some parts were tricky for me like the jump chain at Treetops. For some reason I also was awfully fond of dropping into the pits and lava during the last boss fight against Gnasty... But, I really enjoyed this game. I'm happy they are bringing back old games; if they didn't, I would have missed out on this great piece. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! Ripto's Remorse This one was nice to clear, but to be honest, I had more fun with the first game. In Spyro 2 the challenges were quite tedious at times, some of them gave me so much hassle I had to retry them over 10 times at least. Also, in this game the translation and voice acting were more obtrusive, though credit where credit is due: a couple of the characters sounded good. The not-so-stellar points aside, I did have great time with this game. The exploring and gem collecting was still fun and after finishing the game I felt satisfied.

Popular Post FluffyAssassin64
#100 - Assassin's Creed Odyssey "Epic Cycle" Earn every trophy. I've done it! The big 100 Super excited to reach this milestone, and boy, what an 'odyssey' it was (I know right, good start haha). The road to this 100th plat was long, with sweat and tears, but I've enjoyed (nearly) every step of the way. I was going to 'go for' Witcher 3 for my 100, but I was having too much fun with Odyssey to stop. And every time I told myself to stop and go back... I just couldn't. All said, AC: Odyssey is a more-than-worthy candidate for my 100th platinum trophy, and I can hardly think of a better game to show just how far games have come in the last 10 years. Anyway, enough about that... how was Assassin's Creed: Odyssey? Well... was it the best game ever? No. Was it even the best AC game? Hmmm, probably not. HOWEVER!!! That does not mean that this isn't a game worth playing. To the contrary, I would recommend this game to nearly anyway. A few of the key highlights: Stunningly-realised interpretation of Ancient Greece. A majority of my 135hr playtime was spent simply exploring the cities, expanses, and gorgeous views and islands that the game had to offer. Seriously, this game is gorgeous in parts. Some of the major cities are absolutely stunning. Kassandra was an awesome protagonist. Can't really compare to playing as Alexios, but she is one of my favourite protagonists from recent years. The choices you can make with her don't all have huge impact, but being able to play her the way you want is a big plus. Loved her! There were also a lot of other great characters from Greek history (won't spoil them here), who were a joy to interact with. They feel like family to me now... I'm going to miss them Some of the side-missions were incredible. Seriously, easily Witcher 3 level; and some even better in my opinion. Seriously, there were some missions that absolutely had me regretting my decisions... but I couldn't bear to take it back. THE ISLANDS! I loved the self-contained stories here, and many of the game's best moments were out at sea. Definitely don't neglect these; even though the story doesn't take you there that often The fights against 'special' enemies were awesome. No spoilers here, but these were absolute highlights. As always, I loved learning about history through the in-game 'historical info' marks; again, don't miss this option on the map if you can! Music and sound was great as always. Also, SEA SHANTIES These are big plus-points, but that doesn't make the game perfect. Mission structure (generally) was very repetitive and rarely varied from standard fare. The overall story - while okay - never really took off or reached the level of past games in my opinion. 'Question marks' turned out to be basically 4 things: a new town/city, an enemy camp (there must be 100's), an animal den or a tomb (all of which were nearly identical in structure in layout). The re-use of assets also cropped up numerous times, with enemy camps, underwater sections, and the aforementioned tombs the main culprits. Ship combat, while fun as ever initially, got boring quickly as I made use of the relatively shallow mechanics over time. Normal combat, gear and upgrade systems were similarly 'meh'; very similar to Origins and fun initially, but there are few combos, and the small selection of weapons got old quickly. That said, the savage finishers were always a joy Make no mistake; you can easily avoid many of the above issues by simply not engaging in every single question mark like me haha. I did start avoiding 'another camp' near the end though; you're not missing out on much at all if you skip them. I was comfortably 'max' (lvl 50) by mid-point in the story by simply exploring, so most won't have an issue. I also played on Hard, which was tough but fair. Some enemies have insane health and can kill you in two hits (also, rip fire specifically), but certainly doable if you're up for a bit of challenge. I will highlight again though: the game can get super tedious if you play for too long... I had a 2 week break after feeling burned out at about the 70 hour mark, and when I came back, fell in love all over again. A bit of IMO now... In my opinion, AC games - while still absolutely being a blast to play - have lost some of their soul. I didn't really 'assassinate' that many people... and those that did barely (if ever) had cutscenes. Remember the 'requiescat in pace' scenes from the Ezio days? Same. Remember the thousands of question marks scattered everywhere? Me neither I feel like these games are currently too big for their own good at this point; I would either love a more condensed world with similar gameplay, or keep the expansiveness (which I love to explore) but add more variety in things to do. I wasn't going to stop playing this when I was having so much fun, but I'm seriously considering if these games a good investment of my time moving forwards. In summary, there's a lot of stuff to love here. Stories, characters, a gorgeous world, fun and satisfying gameplay... you're certainly getting a lot of quality content with Odyssey. However, the repetitive nature of the game, and some relatively shallow systems failed to captivate across the entirety of such a big game. In retrospect, I might recommend just playing the missions (including the many, excellent side missions) and ignoring a great majority of the question marks. You might miss out on some 'interesting loot', but nothing that will matter in the long run haha. You should also still get many of the trophies too, haha. So.... after all that, what do I think of AC: Odyssey? I very much enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect, and frustrated me at times, but I'm glad that I played it. Memories of the characters, stories and world will stick with me for years to come - and isn't that what many of us play single-player games for? Regardless, I will always remember this as the game that gave me my 100th platinum... and for that, it will always hold a special place in my heart. Popular Post Masamune
Reformed You've achieved all of the trophies! Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Playtime: 27:29:36 (6 days, 3 hours, 11 minutes) Screenshot (nothing fancy, just the save screen before my final save): Spoiler Another awesome dungeon crawler for the Vita complete! This one was pretty much exactly like the first one, it's fairly easy but the bosses can be a little annoying if you're underleveled. The motivation games seemed a little more challenging in this one (especially the slime one), however there's one thing that makes this version so much better than the first... No more pink smoke censoring the game! They really went overboard with that stuff in the first game, glad to see they didn't make the same mistake this time. Defeating the final boss (both versions) is easily the hardest thing to do while going for the plat, mainly because it likes to spam an attack that hits your whole party & inflicts all the status ailments on them. This means using Lily & Tsukasa is a must while fighting it (they can learn a passive that makes them immune to ailments). Yurine is also a big help since her best counter attack can take off over half of the boss's health if things are set up right (& you have RNG on your side). You also have to beat these 2 bosses a combined 16 times for all the endings, which is a little tedious, but thankfully the 2nd boss gives enough EXP to level up everybody at least once a battle (until around Lv54), so that helps a bit.
Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #154 Ben 10 Hero Time Earn every trophy in the game Wanted a pallet cleanse after some frustration with certain SoulCalibur VI trophies... and this was a great choice. It was on PS Now, so pretty much a no brainer. I got the Ben 10: Omniverse 1 & 2 plats using my free trial back in the day.. rip to those delisted games I liked those more than this; even the weird runner sequel. But this wasn't too shabby, it's basically what you'd expect from a mediocre licensed game from PS2, just slightly better looking. It actually made me wish there was a PSN release or something of the Teen Titans game, because that was fun. Anyway... Story was... there? I couldn't tell you what happened really. Other than like, a bad guy attacked or kidnapped people. And then Ben goes to save the day. And that's about the extent. I actually found a few of the jokes amusing though. And there are bee puns, so what more could you want? It frames the gameplay, but there's not a whole lot of it. The game is short, I got the plat within 6 hours and 30 minutes, and that's with me stopping the game multiple times. You got 10 aliens to pick from, I ended up only using a couple of them. Had I known the glory of Heatblast early on I probably would've rarely ever changed out of him. I used the little short scientist like character... not sure his name, thought he was good... but turns out he sucks. lol~ Heatblast makes all the harder parts easier. I'm actually stunned people on .org find this game hard... rating it 6+ difficulty. :/ I found it pretty easy, sure it took effort but I think it's more like a 3. Usually don't even mention difficulty when posting here, but I just found it crazy. The bosses amount to learning patterns [1 & 3] and just spamming Heatblast upgraded attacks and making sure to not stand still so you don't get bombed [boss 2]. For some reason after I closed the game for the first time and reopened it, I started getting tons of stuttering issues playing. I wonder if it has to do with the currency tracker getting to certain numbers. I had no issues when I was still having things to upgrade. But after that, I started to have the problem. Music was noticeably repetitive. The collectables are super easy to find on your own without a guide, I actually missed one and looked it up... and felt really dumb about it since you literally walk by it and it's visible. There's no way to miss it unless you're dumb like me. lol~ woops. But thankfully these developers have chapter select, not just that but a good tracker of the cards [3 per level] and they're displayed in order of appearance on the level. So you know if you missed one in the beginning, middle or end somewhere. (if you've played Astro Bot it's like the bot tracker in the pause menu, or the level select). And when you get all the cards you unlock chibi forms of all the characters which is neat. I wish there was more to unlock, like concept art, or something. Gameplay is just basic, one combo, a power and a super. And a jump attack I guess. But it was exactly what I wanted to detox with after SCVI, as I said... I think that's about it. Now I wish I had that kart racer on Vita. I could never find it back in the day.
Popular Post madbuk
#291 - Onrush A rather disappointing game. I was excited for this, since several people who developed Driveclub (including the director) worked on this and I loved Driveclub, but I wasn't excited enough to buy it. So I was happy it was coming to PS+, and now I'm happy I didn't pay for it. It starts off okay I guess, but the handling doesn't feel as good as it was in DC and the game mods get repetitive very quickly. It's certainly a unique concept, but it isn't interesting enough to carry a whole game. The balancing also felt a bit off. Driveclub was the perfect level of challenge, rewarding but not unfair. In this, because you're facing off against 6 AI and have 5 AI partners, there is a ton of RNG involved not only in the opponent's behavior, but also in your own team's behavior too. A lot of the challenges also seem absurd and are practically designed with co-op in mind, which, for a campaign mode isn't the most pleasant idea to me. Thankfully there weren't too many of those co-op designed challenges and I had a good partner for them that made them rather easy after struggling to do them solo. For a game that seems so heavily focused on online play, the online is also rather bad. Maybe it's the increase in traffic from PS+, but I was getting network errors a lot in this. Even from basic actions like opening a lootbox. It also had a habit of not telling me I'd disconnected until the end of the match, making the whole match a waste of time - this gets really annoying in the harder events when you finally pass the challenge but get kicked off and have to redo it anyway. I wouldn't say this is a terrible game, but there's nothing about it that stands out either, since the unique concept of it falls flat after a few matches and becomes a bore.

Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #176: Saints Row the Third (December 16th, 2018) Difficulty Rating: 3/10 Excitement Rating: 7.5/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 33 Hours Hardest Trophy: You're My Hero! (Complete ALL Challenges) At the beginning this year I got the online trophy for fear that the servers could shut down making it impossible to get. But until this month I basically put this game on the backburner because I wasn't too interested in playing the entire thing. The story is silly and reflects much of what to see in Saints Row. There are various pop culture references and the game is a spoof on American culture. As the leader of the Saints the city of Steelport is under threat as a militaristic group called STAG invades to eliminate all gangs. The Saints don't want that, so it's up to you to regain Steelport and ensure the Saints are living large. Controls are very standard for an open world game. I didn't find most of the weapons to be particularly interesting since I was expecting them to be a lot more exotic and extravagant. The Character Customization page has lots of options to tweak your character. I basically went from Male to Female and then back to Male because a trophy required me to play as two genders for at least two hours. Saints Row the Third I feel resembles too much like the Grand Theft Auto games. You have escort missions, you have gang territory to eliminate, you unlock new options, basically everything that has been done before in Grand Theft Auto and made popular. The main story missions I felt were a bit more over the top than in games such as GTA San Andreas, but both still have similarities. The radio stations were alright, with The Mix being my personal favorite. Thankfully some of the vehicles you get from getting all the DLC were quite fun, such as a Genki vehicle that sucks up pedestrians and shoots them out like a cannon. A couple activities, the Genki show and Tank Mayhem were quite fun to play. The three DLC packs helped to give Saints Row the Third a bit more variety, but unfortunately they're all pretty short, clocking in at around 1 to 2 hours each to get all of their trophies. The challenges were the most difficult portion in my road to the platinum, a couple of which are missable and a few taking quite a bit of time for me to get. Nothing hard, just a bit annoying at times. This game has it's share of humor, but after looking at Saints Row IV and Saints Row Gat out of Hell it probably isn't all that good anymore. Definitely not a bad game, an easy platinum and a worthy title for the series. Big improvement over the second Saints Row game which I played on the Xbox 360, but luckily no trophies. Popular Post Karl-Kai
Persona 5 Legendary Phantom Thief Wow. Just wow. What a stylish game! I admit, I was a little bit skeptic at first since the calendar system seemed very strict and dictating (I like to have all the time in the world to explore and fight and stuff in RPGs), but I was able to cope with it just fine because whenever I felt too unsure what to do or how to do it, I allowed myself to google some advice. I think that was an okay thing to do because it helped me to enjoy the greatness this game is to the fullest. Indeed, Persona 5 was better than I had expected and I have had tons of fun with it. My second run is still underway as I happened to win the twins pretty early on thus pinging the Platinum, but I'm planning to continue with it nevertheless. After all, during my first playthrough I was very meticulous and calculating so I could do as much as possible and hang out with everyone a lot, but in contrast to that carefulness, this second playthrough of mine is going along in a chaotic daredevil manner; I'm cherry-picking all the way, dedicating my time to my favourite or wasting it altogether, and I'm also choosing answer options that are quite sassy compared to my somewhat prim and proper attitude before. Under the protection of Safe Mode I'm also doing silly stuff like only having one member in my infiltration/Mementos team to make it feel like I'm working in tandem with just my favourite character instead of being a full crew. Many people have already played this game and sang their praises, so I don't have to repeat it all again in an extremely elaborate way. Bluntly put, this game truly is an awesome source of fun with interesting story, remarkable characters, amazing Palace/Mementos action, addicting Persona catching&fusing system, beautiful design and music so good I would like to have the OST CD of it. While the majority of the time everything runs smoothly, it's impossible to be that convenient constantly; while I really liked the Palace infiltrations, some of the Palaces were a tiny bit weaker compared to the others or sometimes something unexpected happened. For example, I remember the Casino one being a bit of a drag when you had to go all out with the gambling games and amass coins, and then at some Palace some location was so narrow and full of X-action button prompts that instead of landing a hit on a treasure shadow, Joker jumped around to hide or climb, resulting in the shadow escaping. Oh, and one thing I didn't like was the fact that you couldn't turn off the ability that annihilated weaker shadows without triggering a battle. But, in the big picture, things like that are small and actually just forge a more varying gaming experience in some sense. As a matter of fact, mistakes or weird happenstances are a source of hilariousness as long as they don't break anything. (By the way, lately quite many games I've played have had glitches in them, but in Persona 5 I didn't run into any --- unless Yusuke not having a fan when performing a Paper Fan Recovery really is one. For me, he never uses a fan, just goes slap-slap with the palm of his hand). Speaking of hilariousness: Persona 5 manages to be dead-on amusing on top of the cool and thrilling vibes it radiates, and that combination pulled me in with such strength that I usually played huge chunks of it at a time. It's too bad you can't take any screenshots while playing; while I typically don't take any, with Persona 5 there were moments when I really liked to snap a shot for a memento. I liked the turn based battle scheme a lot, and a proper use of fitting personas was important part of it so I was always on a lookout to acquire new ones. The persona fusion mechanism was lovely in my opinion, and I was excited about filling my compendium 100%, non-stop collecting and fusing away whenever possible. While there were lots of beautiful and interesting persona designs, some of the personas were actually too scary looking, giving me the creeps when they stared right at you on the fusion screen... I didn't put any of those buggers in my team. There were plenty to choose from so no point in picking the ones that give off an uncomfortable aura. Though, while it's true that this game is an excellent piece as it is, it would have been even better had it had, for instance, some tweaks to the story elements. But regardless, if I had to choose one word with which to convey my thoughts about this game... I could probably go with "Impressive". Because impressed I am, totally. So much so that I can recommend Persona 5 to others without any reservations. Anyway, as a side note, I enjoyed this game so much I decided to make its Platinum my milestone trophy, but sadly I messed up thinking there was one for the 60th Platinum while it really actually was the 75th... so because I got the number wrong, I totally blew it up and lost my chance for good. Damn, the minute I start to care and plan the milestones, I manage to screw it up.
Popular Post DiegoMolinams
# 66 - Coffin Dodgers Retirement Very cool racing game, for the price I thought it was going to be worse but it was quite enjoyable actually. The backstory is very fun also and the set up for the second game is actually pretty interesting, I really hope they improve on variety and gameplay because the game really has a lot of potential.
Popular Post GarciaFever
#184 Muramasa Rebirth Ugh about time I got the platinum for this damn game. It's bad enough that I have to complete it within 3 hours (which is cutting it pretty damn close with my time of 2 hours and 56 minutes), but now you had to complete it on the hardest difficulty TWICE! What this means is that you only have 1 HP for the whole game, and if your swords break, then you're dead. The bosses are cheap as shit, especially when some of them run away like little bitches and constantly keep their distance. Even the DLC is bullshit, more so with the third one, because the ninja's weapons are garbage! every time you swing the sickle around, it starts to slowly break, and by the time the enemy gets within distance to attack, you're already dead. Fuck this game!
