TekkenKing10
Just got the Platinum for Aragami. Solid game, but killing every enemy in each level was really annoying, since the game doesn't tell you how many enemies there are per level. So it's really easy to miss ones which means you gotta do it all over again. Otherwise, had a lot of fun with this game!
Popular Post FluffyAssassin64
#107 - Hyper Light Drifter "Platinum" Get every trophy Hyper Light Drifter was fun, but - in many ways - fell short of greatness in my opinion. The aesthetic and style is really cool, as are many of the music tracks, and I liked the cute characters and sprites. Combat is solid and has a nice weight to it, and the world is generally fun to explore... for the first time at least. You also definitely get a sense of mastery throughout, allowing you to feel very powerful by the time you come to repeat playthroughs. I had quite a few issues with this game, however: - The lore and story is INCREDIBLY barebones. I appreciate the minimalism in games like this (little explanations throughout, leaving you to discover for yourself), but I was very, very underwhelmed by the ending. I 'got' what was happening broadly throughout, but I felt no emotional connection to the main character (or anyone else, really), meaning the ending meant very little to me. NB: I read a lore post on reddit after getting the plat, and it's actually quite interesting; dealing with some cool themes. Too bad it's all hid behind translating monoliths, steam cards with descriptions (which I couldn't see) and a hefty dose of interpretation. I appreciated the little 'storyboards' in the game, but I was still not particularly excited by it when playing. - Costumes / outfits aren't explained AT ALL in terms of their utility. I always play these games first without a guide, and I had no idea that the outfits provided stat bonuses; and that you could have 3 active at once, no less! I thought it was purely a palate swap (which is fine, imo) but I only realised by NG+ that I had been missing out on quite a few buffs. A simple HUD indicator or subtle indications would have been lovely. - Numerous bugs, glitches and crashes. This was a particular issue with the moving blocks in the North, but I would often clip though the wall or the blocks themselves. I also had numerous times where the game would either freeze (particularly after collecting a module) or give a PS error; probably up to 10 times total. Not game-breaking, but frequently immersion-breaking - Collectibles are a bit of a mess. I HATE games that do their collectibles like this. I had fun initially collecting the yellow gear-bits during my playthrough, but when I finished and used a guide to find the remaining (some are super well hidden), I discovered that there is literally no way to check where your missing items are (even something like a zone counter would have been helpful). I ended up searching for 8 HOURS for my FINAL Gearbit, only to discover that it was a box in the South region (S16) that I KNOW for certain I had collected at some point... but considering that any collectibles reset if you die before entering a new room / auto-saving, I wasted so much time looking for this final one. I know this is partly my fault, but still; extremely frustrating!! My advice - WHEN GOING FOR COLLECTIBLES, GO 1 BY 1 IN ORDER WITH A GUIDE, EVEN IF YOU ARE ALMOST CERTAIN YOU'VE ALREADY GOT THAT ONE!!! Hopefully this will save you a massive headache, haha. - Bosses were a super mixed bag: E is laughably easy, N is a cluster-flip of lights that can either be super quick or super frustrating, W is simple when you stop trying for dodge I-frames, and S is a spammy scrublord. The final boss is kinda meh too. None were particularly memorable, and I can't say any of them were very fun either. My opinion though! - Chain dash: cool idea, a bit inconsistent. Once you get the timing down, you're fine; however, I've heard of many people who struggled to get the timing on the 1st chain - even after completing the game. Even I would find that when starting 'cold' (e.g. playing on the weekend after not playing for a day or two), I would take a few minutes to get my timing down again. I get why they made it like this (so you could dash without losing control and falling off edges), but it just never really felt amazing Here's my tips for a few of the 'harder' trophies: - 800 consecutive dashes: there are a lot of tips out there for this one, but my best advice is to do it while doing something else; listening to music, watching Youtube, etc. Sure, you can use a 240bpm metronome if you like, but I found that distracting myself from laser-focus on 'not making a mistake' actually helped. I also found it easier to focus my eyes more in the centre of the screen rather than following speedy-boi around the room so I didn't get a headache. This is a grind though, and you'll need to practice and be persistent to get this one. Definitely doable with a PS4 controller (I did mine) too. Pick a direction (clockwise or counter), and go Also give your thumb / brain a break if you need to! I tended to have a few goes every time I teleported back to the home town. - NG+: git gud............... nah but seriously, this should be fine. You keep all your sword / dash upgrades from NG (DEFINITELY make sure you have everything unlocked), but lose everything else - and your health is set at 2. I personally recommend investing a few Gearbits into some select upgrades (shotgun ammo, health upgrade or 2, bomb) to make your life easier, but you could honestly just follow the main path and be fine. Take care of anything that does 2 damage with 1 hit (laser birdies, rocket launcher dudes, plant beasts) early, and abuse the shotgun With your experience from NG, you should be more than capable of doing this; no worries. I had a few issues with the N boss (birdy) until I played more carefully, then I was fine. - NO deaths: seriously not too bad at this point (likely your 3rd playthrough). My only deaths were to the bird boss (once) and the final boss (once) because I got careless and reckless, but if you take it slow and steady you can knock this out in an hour or two. You can also backup your saves on a USB if you want, haha. - Hoarde mode: S took a few tries, but did N / E / W 1st try. What can I say? I'm a beast. The final challenge though... which a mess. It's completely randomised with all enemies (or so it seems), and if you get 2 chain gun dudes & a rocket dude + plant beast or 2, on a later wave, you're pretty much screwed (due to terrible cover, poor visibility, and unpredictability of spawns). Keep at it and you'll get there eventually, or just wait for an easy run haha. - Collectibles: GUIDE haha Helpful links: - Gearbits guide (again, follow IN ORDER if searching, even if you're 'sure' you got one): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=665910741 - NG+ / No deaths: This is an excellent guide for which modules to get (saving a LOT of time, and avoiding risky enemies and one-hit-kill blocks), in what order, and ultimately what upgrades you 'need'. Of course you don't need to go this fast (in fact, I'd highly recommend getting basically all of the 'easy' Gearbits along the way - you'll have more than enough quite quickly). I'd recommend the following upgrades, however: Triple dash (basically a must), shotgun ammo (also invaluable), sword deflect (very useful, if not necessary). The charged sword, 1/2 bombs and 1/2 health packs can also make some tougher battles much quicker and easier. Good luck! Well, that's a lot of words for me to say that this game - while fun - certainly wasn't perfect, or even great for that matter (in MY OPINION). Once I'd learnt the basics of combat (and how powerful certain abilities like the shotgun, chain dash and bombs were), I also didn't find the game particularly difficult. Perhaps my views have been tainted because of my frustrating grind for my last collectible, but I honestly don't think I'll remember much of this game now that I'm finished... it's just left a kind of 'meh' feeling with me. For comparison's sake, I've played (and loved) other 'similar' games to this - iconoclasts, dead cells, owlboy, Axiom Verge - and thought they were much stronger titles. They had similar aesthetic, but a either a much deeper / more interesting story or more impactful upgrades and progression. Owl boy is perhaps one of my favourite Indie games ever (it too had flaws, but I have incredible memories from the experience), and others like Hollow Knight are some of my favourite games of all time. I love Indie games normally, I just don't think this one is up there with the best of them. Popular Post Zach
#130 Assassin's Creed Revelations Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Time: 20hrs A great ending to the Ezio Trilogy. While Revelations isn't my favorite in the trilogy (happens to be my least favorite), it's still a fantastic game. I really enjoyed the Constantinople setting and the missions where we get to play as Altair again. As far as gameplay goes, nothing too new since Brotherhood.... but some new things are den defenses and the ability to use/craft a wide variety of bombs to use in combat. All and all a great game and should be taken seriously. Note about time: Guide says 35hrs for some reason. As long as you know what you're doing, 20hrs is easy enough to obtain. I managed to get all the 100% synch requirements in mission in 1-2 tries per mission. Also, I made sure to save almost every cent I earned to be able to get all the books by sequence 7. Make sure to make money along the way and this platinum will be super fast to finish.

Popular Post NorbR338055
#30 - God of War Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 Obviously I'm late to the party with this game, so there's not much point to me singing its praises, everyone know it's a fantastic game. I'll say this though: I was half expecting to be disappointed, didn't think it could hold up to all the compliments I'd heard for a year. Well, it does. And then some. I loved everything about this game, the story, the combat, the graphics, the music, the ending, the late game bosses, everything. Well, everything except the collectibles, maybe ? There's just too damn many, and the game world is not that open, fast travel is not that convenient. So after I finally got that damn Valkyrie Queen down (and that was not easy, even after setting the game to easy!!) it was a bit of a chore to hunt down the ravens. If the game is a 10/10, the platinum is probably an 8/10. Still I loved all the post-end game content, Niflheim, Muspelheim and the Valkyries, that was all awesome. Altogether I must have spent about 40 hours on this, I think (hard to judge, I always like when games have a counter on this), and I don't regret a single minute. A well deserved milestone for platinum #30.
Popular Post Sinastran
#30 - The Witcher 3 The Limits of the Possible While I don't think you really have to test the limits of the possible to get the plat, I'll admit my patience was tested quite a bit, as this game still has a few bugs, despite all the patches, and I'd say the game probably crashed on me roughly 10-15 times over the course of going for the 100% completion. Oh, and Roach... If only my silver sword could have cut down that horrible monstrosity... With that said, I love this game so much. I'm a huge fan of the books, and having played this back on the ol' Xbone, I knew I wanted this marvelous experience to be forever commemorated among my trophy milestones. Well... It's done now, and I'll miss the world of the Witcher as I move on to the next game on my list - yet hope remains we'll get to see another installment of this series in the future. Until then, I have every confidence CD Projekt Red will pull off something amazing with Cyberpunk 2077, but please, please, take your time.

Popular Post zizimonster
#67 Watch_Dogs 2 Watch_Dogs 2 delivers the techno-thriller story as awesome as its predecessor, and, unlike its predecessor, the story does not take itself too seriously. In another city full of upgraded technology from giant corporate named Blume, you assume the role of a young hacker Marcus Holloway accompanied with four other hackers from DedSec. The gameplay itself is more or less the same as its prequel led by Aiden Pearce, but now you have two new tools -- RC Jumper and Quadcopter -- at your disposal, which make the overall experience differs. You can even finish (a number of) missions with those tools only. Nonetheless, my favorite skill upgrade since its prequel is Blackout, which turns off electricity for 30 seconds and makes getting through a level a breeze. Popular Post Durandal
The Minstrel (reach the end of the tale) first trophy earned: March 19th, 2019 last trophy earned: April 18th, 2019 --- Ghost of a Tale is another indie game made by only a handful of people. But what a great fantasy RPG they've made! I truly enjoyed every minute of it, mostly because of the fantastic writing. The story is simply amazing, it has Tolkien written all over it. You know, an unlikely hero stumbles into an epic tale what only seemed as a straightforward "task" at the beginning. But the further the story progresses the more you get the sense that this much more then a simple love story. Oh and those dialogues! Just brilliant, full of wit and charm but also filled with so much lore. It actually feels like having a true dialogue with a person and not just someone explaining the obvious to you, like so many other games. But let me start at the beginning. The game has you playing a mouse, and a minstrel to boot. You and your wife were summoned to a local baron to perform at one of his balls. He then requests a rather insulting song to be played, which your wife refuses to sing. Long story short he threw both of you into a different prison for that. When Tilo, that's you, wakes up in his cell he only wants to find his wife and escape with her. Strangely enough there is already a message and your cell key waiting for you. From who, you don't know and you also can't imagine why someone would want to help you. This is the premises of a great story, trust me! One that takes great care to unravel every mystery and plot device, and not leaving you more confused at the end of the game! The reason why is rather simple. The game is filled with lore, which you can either learn from the many dialogues or from books or songs. Even an item description has sometimes useful information for you. But the game never points your nose straight at it, which makes it even more rewarding when you draw the right conclusions. And there are so many aha moments in the game to be discovered. Not just plot twists but also small details, each of these moments enlightens you more and more until the complete story is revealed. And like I said it is, for me at least, something that could have been written by Tolkien himself. One of the reasons why the writing is so great is simply because the game doesn't disrespect your intelligence. Which a lot of games and even movies/shows tend do. This game really is like reading a book. Quite literally actually, because there is no voice acting whatsoever. But it's worth reading every single line. I said the dialogues are amazing and I feel like I should explain this a bit further. Most games only give you a few options to chose from when you have a conversation and it never really gives you the opportunity to question something further. Instead these conversations usually happen only to progress the story as quickly as possible. This game on the other hand gives you a lot more options when you talk to someone and it lets you explore a topic much more thoroughly. Sometimes it goes on for hours, interrupted by other things of course. And most of the characters you meet has an important role in the plot. It is a great joy to uncover these roles and the background of these characters. A few words about the gameplay. That's what you really want to know, right? First of all this is a game with almost no fighting, the few fights you can't avoid are easy enough. And since your character is a minstrel and a mouse you wouldn't stand a chance against any armed enemy. So you have to rely on stealth and deception. The first third of the story is about acquiring a specific costume, which lets you move around freely in any of the few locations. If you don't wear this costume any guard that has spotted you will attack you. You can hide in a lot of place if that happens but first you have to break the line of sight, you can also sprint to escape. There are many hiding places which are usually buckets or barrels but you can just hide in the shadows. Putting this game into a specific genre is a bit difficult, but I think it is foremost a full blown RPG, albeit a rather short and linear one. Your character earns experience and you can unlock several skills. You also gain more health and stamina with each level, which is needed to sprint longer. There are six sets of armor or costumes you can collect. They are a great tool to deceive someone and therefore gain valuable information or even access a new location. Or you can trick someone to give you something of importance. It's really a great way to use a game asset, other then just giving you some stats, which these costumes do too. The most interesting and somewhat unique asset however are the songs of the game. You are after all a bard, with a lute and everything! Sometimes you have to play a song for someone and depending on your choice the result might differ somehow. And you have to write your own song! Which itself is a great way to complete a quest or two. The songs are also beautifully performed if you choose to listen to them, even the lyrics are meaningful. Other aspects of the game are stealth and solving puzzles or doing various tasks. Stealth means either hiding or sneaking around, but you can also steal keys from guards to open one of the many locked chests or doors. Combat is basically not an option, mostly because Tilo doesn't know what end of a sword to hold and he is also to weak. However you can knock out guards for a while by hitting them with a bottle. There are other enemies too, well actually there are 5 spiders you have to kill. But it's very easy because you can either kill them by throwing something at them or just by luring them into a trap. The heart of the game however lies in your abilities to hide and/or use the game assets to your advantage. There are only 20 trophies throughout the game and most of them are easily obtained by simple playing the game. There are lots of collectables but they are usually not that hard to find, and you can actually get help by asking the right person or paying them. The more or less challenging trophies are the ones were you have to finish the game with a specific objective. These are not getting spotted by any guard, not getting hit by an enemy or not eating anything to regain health. But this is easy enough. It definitely helps to restart the game a few times early on to get the hang of the sneaking and hiding mechanism. And you can heal by sleeping later on in the game. Once you find that costume I've mentioned earlier you don't have to worry about the guards anymore. Not getting hit by an enemy can be tricky but the few enemies in this game move kind of slow! You only have to be very careful at some point during the game not to get hit, but you can simply reload a save game to reset this objective. So another wall of text from me, right? But this game deserves it! Even more so it deserves to be played! Like I said you will be rewarded with a fantastic story and some very interesting gameplay elements. There are only a few technical hiccups in form of low framerates and camera woes, but it's nothing game breaking. The only thing that I found a bit unfulfilling is the ending, it feels like the game is just the beginning of a greater story. I hope that this is case though, because I would love to explore this unique world even further! And after all "The Lord of the Rings" required three books to be told. Popular Post Theladozz
#60 - Steins;Gate 0 I'm ashamed to admit that it took a big sale to get me to buy this despite the original S;G being one of my favourite VNs, and even then I wasn't that excited to read it. Luckily it turned out to be really good and has reignited my love for the franchise. I'm sure it would be fairly easy to find plot holes (like in just about any material about time travel and shit) but the whole thing was so enjoyable with both heartwarming and heartbreaking moments that you just don't even want to try. I gotta say though that the true ending and some other parts of the story were really confusing and not well explained imo. The new characters were mostly cool, Maho is amazing and even Kagari who at first I couldn't give the slightest fuck about became interesting during the story. Yuki I didn't really like or care for and Mayuri's other "new" friends were unimportant. I love that Okarin's lines are voice acted, I wish more VNs did this. It's so much more immersive than the "you are the protagonist" bullshit. I also wish more of the characters had a decent prepainted figurine aside from Kurisu cause I kinda want to buy one now. Faris is still best girl. El Psy Kongroo.

Popular Post Neef-GT5
#26 - Secret of Mana Difficulty = 2.5/10 Enjoyment = 3/10 Let's go straight to the point: this game is bound to become one of my hugest gaming disappointments ever. Of course I read the press, I knew it was definitey not the great remaster all fans expected, but honesty it's even worse than expected. I am among these people that discovered Secret of Mana on the Super NES, I was a teenager back then and spent countless hours on it, playing and replaying it. I suppose it already had its flaws but the overall experience made them unsignificant. Maybe I'm just older now, but the feeling I got while playing this game was quite the opposite: the flaws ruined the overall experience... And these flaws are countless: the terrible pathfinding from the NPCs, the bugs and crashes even on the patched version (nota - I played the Vita version), and more generally the complete lack of ambition from Square Enix. When you decide to touch a legend, you either do it right or do nothing. And this happens to be the laziest remaster I've ever seen. A simple port of the original version would have been much more satisfactory, all the additions done here being pointless - the ridiculous discussions between the characters at the inns, the cinematics that seem to come straight from a PS2, the new musics that do not match the original, 16-bit ones... The list goes on and on. Add to this the poorest trophy list ever and the deal is done. Apart from the - again - laziness of it (they didn't even bother to give names to the trophies, damn it!), you'll be gone for an endless grinding in the latest zones of the game, praying the RNG gods to put an end to it. So, is everything dull ? Sure no, it remains a very decent RPG. But the feeling of complete waste is just too strong. Well done Square Enix, you just spat in the face of your own customers... Popular Post Stormverse
This game pissed me off something fierce and taught me a lesson to always back up my saves. A couple of weeks ago I was about 15 minutes from getting the platinum when the game crashed, when I went to reload it my saves were all corrupted with no way to recover it so I had to go through the entire game again. After a short break I decided to and it was much quicker this time because I knew all the damn puzzles. I did have a good time with the game though, issues aside.
Popular Post Carol
#156 Seasons After Fall Master of seasons Unlock all trophies for "Seasons after Fall" I downloaded this game as part of my PS Now trial and I'm glad I did, because it's an amazing work of art! It's a beautiful, artistic puzzle-platformer. You play as a fox, that acquires the power to shift between the several seasons. It's this way that you have to solve all the puzzles that come your way, discovering new areas as you go. This shifting between seasons makes the gameplay very dynamic. Trophy-wise, the platinum is just a matter of completing and experiencing everything the game has for you, so it's not hard. In conclusion, I really don't have words to describe how fantastic this game is! Just play it yourself! It's a truly worthwhile experience. Pure art.

Lots of great music to listen to, cool vistas and places to see / go to and the missions were quite varied this time even if they all involved hacking or stealing stuff. The building interiors/ some levels were absolutely gorgeous especially the Nudle building and you could tell they were well-designed in terms of infiltration missions by having multiple routes (usually but not all the time) MP trophies didn't really give me any trouble besides winning 4 matches in a row in showd0wn (2 vs 2 pvp) but I got lucky at some point and was teamed up with a skilled player and we steamrolled through everything in about 15 mins. Normally when I write about these plats, I always manage to have things to talk about each specific game, but with this one, I'm struggling, as it is literally exactly what you would expect. A retelling of the first 4 POTC films in the LEGO style with all the comedic beats that come along with that.... and.... yeah, that's kind of it. Having played and platted PS4 LEGO titles, it was interesting to go back and see how much simpler these games used to be on the previous generation. It was still quite a grind but it was much more straightforward.

Decided to have a go as a good option to play with a good buddy of mine you moved away a few years ago. It was pretty fun with a few choice sequences. Riding on the back of a robot and having a shooting gallery, jet packing down a shaft dodging obstacles, and teaming up to plow thru slews of enemies in arenas. Unfortunately, the game glitched a couple of times, which was disappointing. Caused us to re-start sections. Some stretches felt unbearably long and some coop sequences were more painful than I am sure they intended. Those raft sections in particular were crap. Overall though, these negatives were few and far between. The game successfully married the franchise to a fun coop adventure of adequate length. With a plat name like "4 Play," I could not resist the urge to add it to the Milestone list. The trophies were split three ways. About a third was directly related to playing the game thru, another third were tied to using the variety of weapons, and the last part was related to performing a specific task or playing with the other 3 characters. The list was not unfairly difficult or grindy.
Popular Post Gumby114
Need for Speed: Shift Enjoyment: 7 Difficulty: 4 An interesting take on the NFS genre that is normally an arcade racer. This entry focused more on driving lines, clean racing and corner precision. Was refreshing but also a bit left field for a franchise that doesn't normally take itself too seriously. Hardest trophy was 20 Epic Medal and only hard because you had to master all corners and 250 perfect starts (not hard but a bit boring) Edited April 21, 2019 by Gumby114
