Popular Post Alternatewarning
Plat 42: Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f 2nd Overall I really liked this game, as I did the one before it. The grind was excessive but if you just want to play and not to platinum then I would really have no complaints. I liked the new songs and the new costumes, although I would like to see more songs from vocaloids other than Miku. I do like her but the others only have about 2-4 songs each while she had the rest. I know that she has more songs in general, but still I'd like to have about 4 per vocaloid at lease. I enjoyed the level of difficulty even if there are quite a few songs I still haven't passed on extreme. it's a nice challenge that doesn't seem like too much. I do wish that there was a mode where you could practice one area of a song to get it down but oh well.

Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#367 - MotoGP 17 Was a decent enough entry to the series. Got to give them props for trying to add something new every iteration. This time it was a manager mode, which kind of made the main mode obsolete. The online is probably the most stable it has ever been in Milestone games, so that's good. The loading times are also a lot faster than they were in previous games. Anyway, this will probably fill my quota of racing games for the year. Enjoyment: 6.5 Difficulty: 3

Popular Post starcrunch061
Plat #339: Hotel Transylvania 3 Bleh, bleh, bleh! Congratulations! You've done all there is to do in Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard! This game might have the biggest difference in community rarity and overall rarity that I've ever seen (37.21% on PSNP, 1.2% on PSN). It was a disappointment. The Pikmin idea was not a bad one, but it was clearly not well done. Your impas get caught on the most trivial of things (even your supposedly flying impas). The bosses are atrocious - I never knew what the hell was going on in the fights, and when I finally did figure it out, my impas moved so slow that I still died a lot. And despite this, I still finished the game in a matter of about 8 hours. I platted two games published by Outright Games (Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion being the other), and both of them disappointed. Just a bit of quality control would really go a long way here (especially in the case of Adventure Time). Still, not bad for a PSNow weel.
Popular Post Squirlruler
#67 Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 Master This was a game I came into not knowing a whole lot of it. Right off the bat, there is a scene in which the main character is getting bandaged up, and it perfectly sums up the game: "Why am I getting nude, I don't need to power up!". The game is great satire and knows exactly what it is. The ending grind to get 100 million credits was a bit tedious, though I did buy one of the DLCs to increase level cap by 300, so that really helped. The longest part was probably waiting for the dumb mob to spawn again. Lol. I am VERY much looking forward to the next game. I have 4 or 5 of these games and have Re;Birth2 installing on my vita Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty : 3/10 #68 Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice: Sekiro Man, I was HYPED for this game. I had just finished Bloodborne and didn't think it was too difficult. Sure, there were bosses that took me an hour or two, but nothing really "stopped" me. Boy, how that changed with Sekiro. There is a quote in the game "Hesitation is Defeat". This perfectly embodies Sekiro. Button mashing will get you killed. Each button press must be deliberate. I was failing miserably at the game until this mindset really got a grip in me. For instance, was fighting the third main boss, and would attempt him for 30-60 minutes a day for most nights for nearly two weeks. Decided I really really really needed to stop spamming (dub), and practiced for about 15 minutes timing swings and dodges. The next day, beat him on my first attempt for that day. After that, most bosses really just needed to have their movesets memorized and they would go down. Go play this game. Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty : 10/10 BUT WAIT. THERE'S MORE! #69 Minecraft: Awarded All Trophies So I bought this game to play with my kiddo and my nephew. Still haven't played with my nephew... Anyway. This isn't a typical game I like to play; it is too open, too directionless. I was working on getting all the trophies through one world when I found out there was a way to glitch items from creative mode (everything available, can't get trophies) to survival mode (normal play). With this, it was extremely easy to just gather the items I needed then pop the trophy! Haha. Hence how I got like 40 of them over the weekend. Now I just have to do the PvP trophies and this one will be marked done! Popular Post Conor
#32- GOD OF WAR: CHAINS OF OLYMPUS (PS3) Above and Beyond Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 Time Taken: 2 Days, 21 Hours, 38 Minutes (10 Hours in-game) Rarity: 6.8% Very Rare (PSN) / 35.54% Uncommon (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: Piece of Cake (Gold)- Beat the Challenge of the Gods The Fates were never that kind... Back in 2008, Kratos went portable and the result was a really great PSP game. Chains of Olympus sees Kratos at the earliest point (thus far) in his servitude to the Gods following Ares' betrayal of him. After the trademark opening set piece against the Basilisk and the Persian army, the sun suddenly drops out of the sky and the world is plunged into an unending night. The god of sleep and dreams Morpheus begins to take over the world, putting all of the gods into a deep slumber, leaving Kratos the only one to put a stop to his machinations. Kratos' mini adventure takes him through the Temple of Helios, through Hades and into the Elysian Fields, ending with him having to make a cruel, impossible choice. The game is mechanically very similar to previous entries, although concessions are made for the PSP's more limited input. Magic use is streamlined and there are only two weapons. The graphics are impressive for a PSP title though not so for a game on a bigger screen. It is also very brief and the story itself is quite weak and inconsequential. Kratos has hardly any character development except for the very end. The final villain comes out of nowhere since you are led to believe that you are meant to be battling Morpheus, who actually never appears. Something I really like is that the Temple of Helios shakes every so often, alluding to what is going on: Spoiler The Titan Atlas is trying to destroy the world pillar in order to cause the collapse of the world above and the destruction of all people and gods, on Persephone's orders. . This is something I missed the first time I played the game way back when, so it was cool to see that. Hard difficulty wasn't all that hard, but there is a massive difficulty spike in the last boss. Also, some of the Challenges of Hades (oddly misidentified as the "Challenge of the Gods" in the trophy) felt very cheap. But overall, God of War: Chains of Olympus is a solid entry in the series, although definitely the weaker of the two PSP titles. Since I'm playing the games in order of release, my next Plat will be God of War III which I've actually never played before since I didn't have a PS3 when it released!
Popular Post Razzee-P
Trophy Master All trophies unlocked! SEGA did its best to make this platinum the most frustrating experience possible. Grindy (level up affections, collect modules etc), hard (Ending Medley) and painful (my wrist!). Spoiler To top it off, the platinum was not triggered by my console, but by PSN server after syncing, so there's a 3 minutes gap. No surprise, after what I did. ?
Popular Post Redgrave
#150: Yakuza Kiwami 2 Unlike the first game I didn't get to play the original either because I didn't know it was a thing or it just wasn't available where I could get games but I'm glad that I got to play this version of it. Compared to Yakuza 6 it felt like there was more stuff to do and the Dragon Engine was a bit more fleshed out so hopefully there's a lot more to it when Judge Eyes comes out. As far as side content goes I enjoyed the Nightclub game but felt like Majima Construction dragged on near the end. Mahjong was the worst part of it though as I expected since it felt like the game just was way more against me than the previous games. Still I enjoyed it along with all the cool and weird/funny stuff that Yakuza games normally have and am glad to have another Yakuza Platinum while also having it made a milestone. Now for the remasters to come out

Popular Post FluffyAssassin64
#114 - Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove "Shovel Justice" Earn all other Trophies. Another day, another platinum haha. In all seriousness though, Shovel Knight is a great game. I've never played the MegaMan games of old, but from what I've heard, the style / set-up here is very similar. You've got a world map, and 8 'boss knight' levels (like 'boss man' levels in MegaMan), as well as some treasure levels and roaming dudes. There's a good mix of abilities here, and the pure 'shovel combat' is very tight; as is the platforming in general. Though some moves are relatively easily abused (down attack on some enemies, phase locket basically anywhere, chaos orbs to kill some bosses in 5 seconds or less), in general there aren't many obvious issues here. There were some levels with annoying RNG elements (screw those flying guns), but honestly the team did a great job. The art style was great, and the chiptune soundtrack was very fitting; some 'dance' tracks in particular were well done. The sense of humour / some characters here are awesome too, especially a certain giant fish... The story concept, while serviceable, was quite simple; I get that's kinda the point with these games, and the boss characters were done well, but I still just felt kinda 'meh' at the end of the story. Compare this to something like Iconoclasts, or Hollow Knight (I realise there are a heap of other variables at play here too, but this is personal opinion about what I prefer in this style of game). Level designs were also varied and interesting, and I appreciated the regular introduction of new concepts. There's also a pretty dope cameo by a certain Greek dude Trophy and difficulty-wise... this could be very variable depending on your experience. An initial playthrough isn't too bad; with generous checkpoints, little damage taken, and the ability to easily get and upgrade everything. NG+ with no deaths is another matter. I personally didn't have too much of an issue after practicing each level for a bit, and it's very helpful that you can simply return to map when you die (progress doesn't save!), but you will have to run through the level again. There are a few others (all / no relics, coins, etc.), but these were pretty straight forward. Probably the most difficult aspect - for me at least - was the time trial. 1hr 30mins doesn't sound too bad, but it quickly adds up when you consider there are 12 total 'levels', and you'll want to do at least a bit of health / mana levelling between that. QUICK TIPS for Time Trial run: Do it last (you'll be most comfortable with the game), and be sure it's on NG (NG+ doesn't count) Recommended upgrades: Phase locket (definitely), Propellor Dagger (speed-running last few stages) +/- Flare Wand (personal preference, but helps to deal with pesky mobile enemies at a distance) & Chaos Sphere (trivialises some bosses and the battle Royale) Easy bosses (with no upgrades): King (pogo), Spectre (hit and wait), Mole (pogo) 'Chaos sphere' spam bosses: Treasure, Polar Practice bosses: Tinker ('mobile gear' one-shots 1st phase, can stay pogo on head indefinitely when practiced), Propellor (practice timings), Final (git gud at platforming and dodging) @#$%@#$% bosses: Plague Knight (screw this guy!!!!!! Spam phase locket haha) You'll need AT LEAST 15-20 minutes for the final 2 levels. The 2nd last (ascent) has a battle Royale against all 8 'knight bosses' which takes up time purely because... well, it does. The final boss / level can be completed in 5-ish minutes, but you'll save yourself a massive headache if you can save time earlier. After every (or every few) levels, backup to the cloud! There's literally an option in the main menu for this, so be sure to use it. If you screw up at a bad place / time, or think you're too slow, return to title (NOT map), re-download save from cloud, and try again Don't give up; you can definitely do it! On my first 'time trial' attempt, I finished 3 minutes over On my 2nd try, I finished in 1:29:42 hahaha (18 seconds left!). To be fair, I was kind meme-ing around for some gems, etc... but you could easily shave 5-10 mins off that. Alternatively, play through with just your starting equipment and you could probably hit an hour. Overall, I had a lot of fun here. Shovel Knight is a solid 2D platformer, with what I'm sure will be beautiful nostalgia for many. I wouldn't say it's my favourite of this style (I prefer a bit more character development, story, etc. personally), but this is definitely worth a play Game rating: 8.5/10 Plat difficulty: 4.5/10 Edited May 29, 2019 by FluffyAssassin64
Popular Post NorbR338055
#33 - Déraciné Difficulty: 2/10 Enjoyment: 5/10 A somewhat underwhelming VR game. Not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination, it is what it is, an interesting story in a beautiful setting and with a beautiful soundtrack. But I can't say that the story really grabbed my attention, the puzzles are a bit frustrating at time and timelines get downright messy by the end. Still an enjoyable experience I suppose, and definitely an easy platinum (I rated 2/10 just because it's not obvious to figure out the path to the ending ... with a guide, this is a 0/10), worth picking up if you can get it cheap, and if you enjoy this sort of narrative, fantastic story in VR.

Popular Post Jelloycat
Platinum #81 - Adventures of Mana An alright game. Neither the combat nor the story was anything too deep, but it was still enjoyable enough to play through. Having a cute chocobo companion was a pretty great part of the game. That grind for level 99 was really unnecessary though. It wasn't as long as other RPGs grinds, but it was still pretty boring to be honest. Anyways, I'll probably look into picking up Secrets of Mana when I see it go on sale the next time.

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#263 - Nights of Azure Nights of Azure Unlock all trophies. I was in the mood to play a JRPG with a relativity short plat and this one came to mind since I've been sitting on it for a while. The story wasn't all that interesting, but I enjoyed the gameplay, even if it did get kind of repetitive. It was fun trying to build a good team of familiars. The platinum was on the grindy side, but nothing too extreme. I believe this is the first game developed by Gust I've played, and I must say, the art was really gorgeous. Definitely one of the stand out parts of this game for me. I really need to play some of the Atelier games soon... ?
