Popular Post Ala-Arska
Detroit: Become Human DETROIT MASTER Collected all trophies! Instead of giving you a Platinum image of black screen, I'll give you a learning experience. I was hesitant to start this game, since one of the main protagonists is in Grey's Anatomy. I hate Grey's Anatomy. But setting my weird relationships with hospital dramas aside (House M.D. is great, rest is poop), I managed to enjoy this a lot Like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, Detroit: Become Human is more of an interactive movie than an actual game. Now the story revolves around androids in the future, and what will happen when they reach consciousness. Plenty of choices to make again, with multiple paths and endings. And death is still permanent here (well, more or less). I liked the unfolding of androids' fates, from obedient machines to self-aware beings. Some of the endings needed more polish, though. Voice (and face!) acting is excellent, even my Grey's Anatomy dude does a splendid job. Kudos all around Even Clancy Brown has a part here. That man's a goddamn national treasure, and alone worth the price! Music is tense and well orchestrated, but sounds too similar to Quantic Dream's previous titles. All too similar is characters' movements, too. They still walk around like sedated robots. Even the ones that aren't sedated. Or robots. Out of the one's I've played, I rank Detroit second, right behind my still favorite Heavy Rain. I can't wait for the sequel, which is a story about robotic KISS members. Yup, it's Detroit: Rock City
Popular Post Dokusha
#100: Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly Since my PSN account's 10th anniversary is due in August this year, I challenged myself to strive for twin milestones in 2019: 10,000 trophies in total, and 100 platinums. And, my dearest ladies and gentlemen of PSNProfiles? I'm so utterly thrilled to report that both have been accomplished, the former thanks to Judgement (what an utterly fantastic game) and the latter due to, as you can see, Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly! Psychedelica is another lovely otome visual novel brought to the West thanks to Aksys. I really, really enjoyed this one: it's the third best Aksys-localised otome, in my opinion, second only to Code;Realize and Collar x Malice. It tells the story of a young woman and four young men who wake up in a sinister gothic mansion (don't you hate it when that happens?), and all five have lost their memories. As they explore the mansion and try to find their bearings, vicious monsters attack them, and a mysterious little girl wearing a rabbit mask tells them they have to collect all the fragments to a mystical kaleidoscope so that they can go home. Shenanigans ensue. The mysterious story starts off a little slow, but fortunately doesn't take too long before becoming highly compelling. I'm satisfied with how all plot threads are resolved by the time you've read all the endings. Unlike most visual novels, where you have to make strategic saves in order to access different routes, Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly follows the example set by the Zero Escape series and 428: Shibuya Scramble, by including a comprehensive flow chart through which you can jump around the story as you go along. It makes for a stress-free reading experience, knowing that you won't have to force yourself through the tedium of starting the story from scratch every time you wish to read a new route. So yes, I'm well pleased with this little game, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for an intriguing visual novel with great art, lovely music, a spoooooky mystery plot, and dashing gentlemen to swoon over! I know I'll be helping myself to Psychedelica of the Ashen Hawk soon enough!
Popular Post Kristycism
#101 - Star Ocean: Till The End of Time Difficulty: 4/10 Time to Plat: ~155 hours (but I wasn't particularly efficient) Annoyance at those damn bunny races: 100000000% Star Ocean has always been one of my favourite game series (alongside the Tales of games). This game in particular, I spent hundreds of hours on as a kid. Me and my brother would formulate strategies on getting all of the Battle Trophies together (in the days before we had internet), and between us we got 100% of them back on the PS2 (our mum had to buy us a separate Memory Card just for this game...normally we'd keep our own Memory Cards separate, and in locked boxes so the other sibling couldn't delete all our progress on something because we were feeling vengeful for questionable reasons). Playing through it again as an adult, I still enjoyed it for the most part. The overarching story is pretty dumb, but the subplots on the first two planets you visit are pretty decent, though nothing overly special. Bonus dungeons are also good with a decent amount of variety of (simple) puzzles to solve. Well, the Sphere Bonus Dungeon was pointlessly long, but besides that, everything moves along at a decent pace so you're not stuck in any one area for too long, or doing one thing. The battle system is pretty much what you expect for a PS2 JRPG, nothing special, but also not that bad even this long after release. Or maybe I just enjoy simple battle systems... I also really enjoy the Invention System in this game (and most SO games, but this one in particular, I enjoyed hiring inventors, setting them up, etc), even if it does get frustrating when your 3 characters with a combined 120 skill level keep failing a 30-rating item... Those bunny races though...I remember thinking those bunnies were cute as a kid. Now they show up in my nightmares, taunting me as they run so close to the finish line then just slow down and let another bunny overtake. I will happily never look at one of those damn bunnies ever again. Seriously. 1,565. That's how many races it took for me to finally get that last trophy (granted, some of them were left on PS4 Remote Play with a "press X" AHK script so I didn't need to do them myself). Never again. I would seriously rather have gone through the mind-numbing grind to get 100% of the Battle Trophies than do those stupid Bunny Races... Blegh. Whatever, I'm happy to finally have got around to getting a Star Ocean plat for my profile! Now to do SO4....in a while...maybe. I got all achievements on X360...I'm not sure I want to do that again...

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#270 - Yakuza Kiwami KIWAMI Obtained all trophies. This remake was undoubtedly made on a tight budget. It's basically just a reskin of Yakuza 0 with some features stripped out and I believe they even took some of the cutscene animations right from Yakuza 1 on the PS2, so I can look a little janky at times. Of course there are some improvements from the original as you would expect like the third person camera, much more refined combat system, better graphics, etc, but there were some unnecessary changes too. The Majima Everywhere System sounds cool on paper, but they sacrifice the narrative to get it in the game. It just feels out of place. I love the Yakuza series, and of course I had a lot of fun with this one, but it definitely could have been better. I'll be playing the remaster of Yakuza 1 next on PS3 so I'll have a better idea about what exactly this game did right and wrong.

Popular Post Boomshanks
( 50) Kingdom Hearts (PS3) KINGDOM HEARTS Master Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10 I specifically saved this game for my 50th platinum as it’s one of my favorite games from my childhood. Kingdom Hearts was actually the game that made me become a Playstation fan. Back in 2002 my brother bought a PS2 along with this game and I remember going into his room and ‘borrowing’ his console in order to play the game myself. Eventually my brother got tired of constantly having to get his console back so I saved up and bought myself a PS2 as well. Haven’t looked back since. I just love the idea of being able to visit all these different Disney worlds and experiencing the stories they have to tell. Halloween Town is my absolute favorite but I love all of them. It's so cool to see all these characters from the films when you're able to interact with them and the side characters within their world. Part of the fun of new Kingdom Hearts games is always thinking about which worlds are going to be in the next installment. Back then the worlds felt incredibly large but playing through it today, I was surprised to find that almost all could be completed within an hour. The story itself is very interesting and goes a lot deeper than you’d expect for a children’s game with an emotional and earned ending . The music by Yoko Shimomura is absolutely fantastic and started my love for video game soundtracks. I don’t know what it is about Kingdom Hearts but even though it can get repetitive, I just don’t get bored walking through the different worlds battling the Heartless. I guess it’s the combination of the music and setting. The combat has become quite clunky since 2002, though they did a good job in updating it by mapping the camera to the right analogue stick and adding the triangle commands. I remember controlling the camera with the L2 and R2 buttons on the PS2 and it was an absolute nightmare. I’m also very happy with the trophies in this game and I really like the images for the worlds . The trophies are nicely spread out but ask you to do everything there is to do in the game. Surprisingly I enjoyed going for the Gummi Ship missions a lot as they offered some nice strategic challenges and I always completely ignored the gummi ship back on the PS2. The only trophy I wasn’t a fan of was the Unchanging Armor one as it just made progress feel really slow, though it was cool to see the Kingdom Key in the cutscenes. My favorite parts were probably the secret bosses as I just love those fights and I was pleasantly surprised with the new Heartless and secret boss as I hadn't been able to experience them before. I liked how all of the new Heartless had a gimmick that you had to figure out in order to defeat them. Great stuff, though I looked up most of them online All in all, it’s one of my favorite games from my childhood and through my nostalgia goggles I enjoyed it just as much this time around. Can’t wait to get the platinum for the entire series, though I’ll do the rest on the Playstation 4 as they have stackable difficulties and just play better in general.

Popular Post Caldor2K2
#116 - Dragon Quest XI Dragon Quest XI is the latest game in the main series which started in Japan in 1986 (1989 for NA) and predates pretty much every other console RPG there is, series or otherwise. The Dragon Quest formula (for at least the main series) has not really changed much from the first game. The series revolves around the fact that the player character (PC) has to set out to save the world from some evil being or other evil. The PC travels from town to town, continent to continent collecting items and information vital to the quest. Upon reaching a new town, the PC usually has to help the town solve its problem, and in doing so sometimes gains new allies, or new items which allows access to previously blocked areas. Of course, Dragon Quest XI follows this to the T. The game itself is divided into three distinct parts. The first is gather information as to where the final destination is, while stopping by every known town in the world. Part two picks up sometime after Part one ends, and the PC is left to revisit everything again while finding an alternate way to defeat the main boss. Part three is the post game, and because of what it involves, a lot of it is a rehash of part two, and it can make the game drag on longer than I felt was needed.. But completing part three reveals a new final boss and a new ending. Most of the Dragon Quest games typically require more time to complete compared to other RPGs. XI has a lot of grinding involved, mostly for the materials for the outfits, and if you don't use a guide, you'll be at it for a fairly long time. Luckily, it's not as bad as a spin-off Dragon Quest Heroes 2, which involved finding all monsters, getting all their item drops, obtaining every item in the game etc. As there is a lot of content in the game, be prepared to spend at least 100 hours or more going for the platinum. As previously mentioned, Dragon Quest is pretty much the grandfather of modern RPGs and you should certainly give this one a try. If you've never played a Dragon Quest game you don't have to worry that this is the 11th main game, as each game in the series is its own separate entry. Even the original trilogy (1, 2 and 3) hardly had anything in common. Now truth be told this was the NES versions. The games have been remade for mobile devices and added subtitles to the name of 2 and 3, similar to how they started with the DS remake of 4. It's almost a certainty all 3 games were re-translated and may have better background stories.
Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #198: Assassins Creed Unity (June 3rd, 2019) Difficulty: 5/10 Excitement Rating: 4/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 40+ Hours Hardest Trophy: Curiosity (Open every chest in Paris) This is basically a repeat of what I wrote a month ago in a status update regarding Assassins Creed Unity. Some changes have been made but I had such a frustrating time with this game that I felt it would be best to categorize what I liked and what I didn't like. THE GOOD: GRAPHICS: This is probably the best thing Assassins Creed Unity has going for it. There is no question that Paris looks and feels wonderful. With the jump from PS3 to PS4, there is a lot more detail in just about everything and it shows. Characters look more life like and believable. Landmarks such as Notre Dame look stunning and magnificent. Assassins Creed had never before looked this good, and today the graphics are still solid. This was the first time in the series where I felt the people looked like actual people. For a series like Assassins Creed, this is definitely a good thing. EASY OPTIONAL OBJECTIVES: This is a toss up between Assassins Creed Unity and Assassins Creed Syndicate. But I must say that the optional objectives for the main missions are some of the easiest in the series. In previous games there was often an optional objective that gave me a lot of trouble. A certain Romulan lair in Assassins Creed Brotherhood and a certain mission in Revelations where you cannot get hit at all both come to mind. Unity has rather basic and simple objectives, such as getting two cover kills, two air assassinations, etc. The worst is basically not getting into conflict, but smoke bombs help get the job done. Speaking of which... SMOKE BOMBS: Anyone who has played Unity probably knows that smoke bombs are definitely overpowered. Unfortunately health medicine is back in this game, which means your health won't regenerate. Smoke bombs help get out of a sticky situation, but more importantly they help mask yourself as you kill guards. A tool normally used to escape in other Assassins Creed games is made overpowered in Unity. It helps a great deal and made co-op missions a lot easier to handle. THE BAD: PARKOUR MECHANICS: One of the biggest flaws of this game and the reason why I was so frustrated with this game. The parkour is awful. I don't know if it's my playing ability or just not adjusting to the controls, but parkour is more of a chore than it is something that works. Arno just seems to cling on to anything that's grab able. Ledges, walls, roofs, etc. Arno has a great tendency to just cling onto chairs for some strange reason, which has caused me a great deal of stress when alerting the guards. It's a flawed system that I was glad to see improved in Assassins Creed Syndicate. Origins and Odyssey from what I hear have made climbing easy, probably due to the amount of complaints people had with the climbing mechanics and parkour in previous games. About 80 - 90 percent of the map (including DLC) is buildings and streets, and obviously, I did a LOT of climbing because a chest or some objective was directly in front of me and I just happened to accidentally climb some ledge. The auto detect is bad, the free running controls are bad, the parkour just wasn't all that good in this game. Do not get me started on getting through open windows. GUARDS: The guards in Assassins Creed Unity are the most vicious guards I've seen in all the games I've played in the series. For some reason, Ubisoft decided that they would make the guards more difficult and aggressive while also making them more aggravating to deal with. The problem is I had to play this game in a specific way because there is no human shield, whistle, or option to carry dead bodies. Until I got to a certain point where I got good enough gear, I was constantly having trouble with guards. Running into a group of three or four guards (both good and bad) in the early going is basically suicide. Guards are categorized by the number of diamond symbols they have above their head. A guard with one diamond symbol is easy to take down, while a guard with five diamond symbols is tough. Problem is, even with high level equipment and gear you can still have a lot of trouble, which makes smoke bombs that much more useful. Guards detect you from 200 meters away. They have god like vision. On a couple occasions I had guards spot me from behind a wall and I had guards engage me in combat while I did barely anything. Just brushing against a guard is enough for them to come after you. They are like houseflies on shit. I lost count on how many times I've aggroed a group of guards just running in the streets, and not intentionally. Snipers are especially aggravating and annoying. Guns take off too much of your health and you can easily find yourself dead if you're not careful. The guards were simply buffed up in Unity, and they were a chore to deal with. Later on the game does get easier because you will have superior equipment and you will be able to hold your own against several guards. Still with the lack of chain kills, no human shield and no real way of fighting a bunch of guards at once, it was a big hassle to get into conflict. MISSING FEATURES: Unity is missing a lot that was present in previous games. Human shield, carrying dead bodies, a whistle option, etc. Why Ubisoft took these features out I don't think anybody knows. But I definitely noticed this early on, and for them to take out as much as they did was a disappointment. Basic features were removed for no clear reason. I don't need to explain any more. STEALTH: Stealth is awful. The cover system is half assed and remaining stealthy throughout the entire mission is next to impossible because of the way the guards behave and what dictates them detecting you. In previous Assassins Creed games I could stealth my way through an entire mission without ever having to engage in combat with someone. Here in Unity it was basically every fucking mission in the game. The stealth simply doesn't work. The way to lure in guards is to let them see you and wait for the indicator to turn red, which at that point they were search the spot you were last seen. Then you basically do a cover kill. A rather sloppy and stupid way to be stealthy, and most of the time stealth doesn't work. The Phantom Blade and Berserk Blade both get the job done, but with severely limited ammo. I end up just killing most of the guards by spamming smoke bombs. That's the more efficient way to play though the game. Ubisoft definitely changed the stealth for the better in future Assassins Creed games. But here in Unity it was poorly implemented and sloppy from the start. STORY: This is probably the worst Assassins Creed story in all the games I've played. I don't think I ever found a reason who the Assassins and Templars are fighting, why they fight, and who they represent. In previous games I could rally behind the Assassin cause, be it Ezio, Altair or even Connor. Here, I haven't learned anything that makes me care about the Assassins. What is especially insulting is the story is basically Arno, an Assassin whose father was killed when he was just a boy, chasing Elise, a Templar whose father was the Templar Grand Master before he was assassinated. Assassins Creed Unity fooled me into thinking that the story was going to expand and further develop. The first two - three sequences were probably the most effort Ubisoft put into this game, as it sets up the reason why Arno became an Assassin. Instead, what follows is basically a bunch of hunting Templar missions. The Assassin Council is a bunch of buffoons who at some point drop support for you entirely. Arno Dorian may as well been going around the last bit of story in the game being a reckless Assassin out for just himself. The relationship of Arno and Elise doesn't seem to get anywhere. The story is basically trying to kill off the Templar Grand Master who was behind the killing of Elise's father. The last mission was simply underwhelming and disappointing. I felt it had all been for nothing, and the death of Elise was just the nail in the coffin for a disappointing story. The characters are dull, the script is poor, the story doesn't really seem to get anywhere other than Arno trying to correct the mistakes of his past, which he himself does a terrible job at doing. There is hardly anybody recognizable outside of Arno and Elise, none of the Templar characters are memorable and the Assassin Council could of just been nonexistent. On the present day side of things, you assume the role of some random guy who is told he needs to tap into the memories of Arno. The present day storyline is an absolute joke. There is a woman named Bishop who basically tells you what you need to do. Shaun Hastings makes an occasional appearance but adds nothing to the story. I would of been happier without the present day with how bad it was. Sadly the present day story just goes into a bunch of cutscenes for Assassins Creed Syndicate and you assume the role of a random woman in Assassins Creed Origins. After learning about how Ubisoft has treated the present day I don't think we will ever see an improvement in the plot. THE UGLY: COLLECTIBLES: Oh boy, what a chore. I think this takes the cake as being the worst collectathon in any game I've played. I want you guys to look at this picture and try not to cower your head in shame. This was basically everything with the Chests and Cockades map purchased. I think I spent a good 6 - 8 hours just collecting all 294 chests and over 100 cockades to get two trophies. Definitely not making this up. The locked chests were mostly fighting off at least three guards, doing a stupid lockpick minigame, and have Arno spend 5 - 6 seconds opening the chest before you actually get the loot. Occasionally, I had to climb my way through an open window. Pick a level three door lock (which are aggravating mind you). Kill off 3 - 5 guards. Pick a locked chest that is also level three. Break some lockpicks in the process. Tick off one collectible for virtually over one minute of effort. Some chests are hidden underground, which you have to find the stairs to (indicated by the stair icon on the map and minimap). Run around like an idiot finding the fucking chest. Fight some more guards, lock pick the chest. Tick off one collectible for the same amount of aggravation. Cockades are the second type of collectible required for the platinum. Some have to be obtained a certain way because just jumping at some of them isn't going to net you the collectible. You have to analyze your surroundings and then free run down and just hope you'll collect the cockade. Boring, stupid, ridiculous, aggravating, frustrating but above all, fucking tedious. I never got so bored hunting useless chests and cockades than I have in this game. Even the blast shards in inFamous 1 weren't as bad because I was able to get them quicker. Those data clusters in Saints Row 4? No problem, just run like you're driving over 100 - 150 MPH and run up buildings to get them. But here in Assassins Creed Unity? Fucking ridiculous. The DLC Dead Kings has you collecting even more collectibles, so don't think you're done by getting the Curiosity trophy. So why did Ubisoft do this? Probably to pad the game. They probably felt that just randomly scattering chests and cockades will be worth anybody's time when all that does is increase the time it takes to get the platinum. There is no rhyme or reason for any of it. I've seen level 3 chests that had nobody guarding them. I've seen level 1 chests locked behind a door and have 3 - 5 guards guarding them. ===== In conclusion, Assassins Creed Unity was a massive disappointment. From the frustration of the parkour mechanics to a dull story to running around like a moron getting all the chests, I'm glad this game is now behind me. TLDR: Unity is garbage. Crap story, crappy gameplay mechanics, too many collectibles, boring sidequests and nothing really interesting. At least the graphics were nice and a couple of the weapons were cool. Popular Post SomervilleHBK
#29 GODZILLA (PS3) Big kaiju guy, and I've loved Godzilla games since the sixth generation games like Save the Earth on the PS2. I've always been unlucky when the newest ones were to come out though, as I did not have a Wii when unleashed came out, so I had the PS2 version which was just Save the Earth rebranded with different stages and UI. When this game came out on the PS3 and PS4 almost 4 years ago (in a couple days), I got it day 1 and only found out a few days later the PS4 version had SIGNIFICANTLY MORE FEATURES and the PS3 version was essentially a full-priced demo limited to 3 Godzillas. Still, I had a lot of fun with this game and figured it would be a quick sweep of trophies since I had been about 80% there since 2015. I got a PS4 holiday 2016 and I have a copy of Godzilla on PS4 too. I'll be getting to it very soon and I'm looking forward to getting the full experience that I was essentially shafted from 4 years ago.

It was pretty cute, you have to walk an old man through an interactible landscape. The artstyle is really pretty , the biggest plus of the game. An interesting story. The only mildly annoying part is the train section where you must do a smooth ride without the train stopping. Sometimes the gamepad won't react properly. All in all a decent relaxation game that I will most likely forget about it in the next days
Popular Post ShonenCat
Platinum #37 - Samurai Shodown Difficulty Rating 3/10 (personal) Enjoyment Rating 6/10 Uncommon - 22.48% First Achievers - #16 Fastest Achievers - #25 Okay, SNK. I'm afraid I'm going to have to dock you three enjoyment points for not including my most wanted character into the base roster. What's that? You didn't include her in the season 1 pass either? Well, that's going to cost you another enjoyment point. Hey, don't look at me like that! You could of had a perfect score coming from me, but you let me down. I've been waiting nearly two decades if not longer to see her again, but I appreciate you slapping me real hard in one day instead of three more times throughout the year. Just wake me up when season 2 pass gets announced. I bought your game on launch day hoping you intend to make everyone's Samurai Shodown wishes come true. To those reading this, don't let my enjoyment rating stray you away from this game. It needs all the love and support it can possibly get, and this is merely my personal qualm and bittersweet relationship with SNK at the moment. Samurai Shodown 2019 is a miracle in itself and we should all be playing it constantly like it's 1993 all over again, so get your ass off that woke piece of crap Mortal Kombat 11 and play the fighter that doesn't insult you, the consumer. You'll find that the platinum is very easy compared to the likes of King of Fighters XIII or even King of Fighters XIV. That's probably because Samurai Shodown is more about landing extremely punishing one hitters and less about linking serious combos. Everything they ask of you is very straightforward. I would say the only thing that may prove real difficult for the average player is Gauntlet Mode, where you have fight all 16 characters and the boss without dying. Not to worry, I found a pretty nice cheese method that should help. For Gauntlet Mode, you want to use Galford. There are many reasons why. He is fast, and his back dash is too, it goes super far to the edge of the screen, and that's what you want to do, keep yourself away from your opponent as much as you can. Galford also has a lovely neutral heavy slash that has a big hit box. He steps forward everytime with it too, covering great distance. You can attempt heavy slashes whilst keeping a safe distance. The idea of the Gauntlet run is to spam Plasma Blade (preferably medium speed). It's one of the few projectiles in the game that launches instantly upon input and has very little recovery frames. Plasma Blade also knocks the opponent far on their ass, keeping them away from you once it lands. Spam projectiles at everyone till you get to the boss. Don't use your pet dog, Poppy. The CPU can read that input pretty well and punish you hard. When you get to the boss, heavy slash spam when you can from a good distance and be sure to block at the right times after you learn their moveset by playing arcade mode on medium difficulty. This game also has minimum online trophies, which is very nice. But let me point out that the team battle trophy won't pop unless you are the captain on your team. I have a few other qualms with this game though. For example, the load times are some of the longest I've experienced in a while. Base roster is a extremely lacking compared to something like King of Fighters XIV. I also wish there could of been some more unlockables. Colors, costumes, characters, artwork... something! But at least the game doesn't nag at you for playing offline like Mortal Kombat 11 would. I can only hope Samurai Shodown is selling many copies and that SNK plans to support this game for a very long time... maybe then I'll finally get to see her again ❤️ But just my purchase alone won't help make that happen. If you love fighting games, Neo Geo, or anything with a feudal setting, support Samurai Shodown and show SNK that love for the franchise is still out there. Draw your blade and embrace death. Popular Post aldreezi
#256 - God Eater 3 It All Comes Together Difficulty: 3/10 Time: 40 hrs Enjoyment: 8/10 This may seem weird to some of you ,but I really enjoyed this game more than Monster Hunter ? The grind wasn't as bad as I thought even acquiring all rank 7 equipment was easy. Gameplay is fun and never boring cuz I kept changing melee weapons very often and experimenting them. Story writing was kinda disappointing to be honest just the typical reforming society plot, I liked Hugo though he is badass and acts like a real leader. AK-1138
Platinums #280 and 282: Difficulty: 2.5/10 Playtime: 3 hours, 53 minutes (EU); 3 hours, 47 minutes (NA) Enjoyment: 6/10 Decent hack and slash platformer with some light RPG elements. Really not particularly hard no matter how you (ahem) slice it, especially after learning that backstepping while holding the sword button is the best way to attack. Due to the randomly generated nature of the levels, sometimes you can get stuck in a tricky situation but most of the time you're given a fair chance to react to your surroundings. Could have done without the unadulterated padding that is grinding for keys; made it about half an hour longer than it needed to be. The audio part's useless so just put on some tunes of your own and get to work.
Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #199: Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood (June 9th, 2019) Difficulty: 4/10 Excitement Rating: 8.5/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 12 - 15 Hours Hardest Trophy: The Full Belmonty (Castlevania: Rondo of Blood: Complete 100% of the game) A number of you know that I have an appreciation and liking to good classic games. So when this collection of old Castlevania games came out I was ecstatic, but unfortunately I didn't get around to this until just a couple months ago. Both games in this collection were initially released on older systems. Rondo of Blood was released for a system that is now pretty obscure, whereas Symphony of the Night was released for the PlayStation 1. Of the two, Symphony of the Night is definitely the better game and one that holds up fairly well, all things considered. Rondo of Blood is definite old school, given that it was released in 1993 back at a time when 2-D platformers were still difficult and challenging, with most kids not being able to finish them. Maria Renard definitely made the game a lot easier thanks to her jumping ability and her bird attacks, as opposed to Belmont who is a lot less agile and lacks the mobility. The game does offer multiple paths, which was a rarity at the time and is something I actually enjoyed. Overall, not a bad game. Symphony of the Night is Metroidvania from start to finish, released in 1997. This game is definitely a mixture of RPG and Adventure, with certain elements definitely feeling JRPG like. There's a lot more you have to do in this game, including some random trophies and having to beat the game at least twice. The Normal Castle playthrough was fun and enjoyable. I found the Inverted Castle playthrough to be slightly annoying due to the tougher enemies and everything being practically upside down. Some areas were a pain to get through. I had one trophy glitch on me which forced me to replay the game for three hours just to get back to that point. The Belmont playthrough was fairly easy since you can cheese a bunch of sections and be done within 30 - 60 minutes. This collection is worth a buy and it is a must have for any Castlevania fan. Finishing this collection makes me wish that every classic gaming compilation had a platinum trophy to go with them. Unfortunately that's just not how things are. Popular Post The_ThunderIord
#35: SLAIN: BACK FROM HELL This game was a lot of fun to play, the soundtrack is amazing (If you're a metal fan ?) There's only one part of the game where I struggled, the fu***** Mother Beholder, this boss is just pure randomness. I recommand the game a 100% ? Personal Difficulty : 6/10 (Because of fu***** Mother Beholder) Time to 100%: 1 day, 14 hours (#20 Fastest Achiever) PSNP Rarity: 3.75%

Popular Post Slava
#9 - PRINCE OF PERSIA Master From what I've seen and heard, this game is somewhat divisive. Some people like it, some don't. l am among the ones who loved it. Had fun with it back in 2009 when i first played it on PC. Enjoyed it as much while replaying on PS3. Have to say though, I'm not the biggest PoP fan. I beat The Sands of Time and got through about half of Warrior Within a long time ago and enjoyed both as well. I won't be comparing them, I'll just say I had no problem with this game's direction being different. I liked the world and the level design in this game. Each main territory holds a different atmosphere, Elika (the princess) tells you about the history of the kingdom, you look around, see these towers, ancient mechanisms, etc. Then you cure the location from corruption, and it looks different again, it becomes bright and colourful. I also like how there's almost no ground to walk on in the platforming zones ?. There is even a joke about it in the game. You're running on walls, on ceilings, jumping from a pole to a pole all the time. Later you're literally flying around. the combat system. It's different from previous games in the franchise: you only fight 1v1, the enemies are stronger, and the fight are more focused. You can block and dodge, and you have 4 moves linked to each of the face buttons. is sword attack, is Elika's magic, is grabbing with your gauntlet, is acrobatic jumping stuff. You chain these moves and you always know what you're doing. If you want to hit the enemy with a sword a bunch of times, then launch them in the air, then use magic, then throw them to the ground, you know what buttons to press. As always, there are a lot of combos, and they all look cool, every one has a unique beautiful cinematic animation. the story. It is pretty simple: the god of darkness and chaos is triyng to escape his reality, and you and the princess join forces to stop him. You talk to Elika, learn about the gods, the world, the history, the bosses. I replayed this game after beating The Last of Us and found the plots similar. The characters don't really like each other at first, the guy realises the girl/princess is the key to saving the world, they learn to work together, grow closer. Spoiler: Spoiler then the main character has to choose between saving her or saving the world. If you played TLoU you already know how the story ends. I even think TLoU may have been inspired by PoP 2008 ? I didn't like the input lag. It's a little bit too big. It doesn't mess up anything, your commands go through, you don't fail because of it or anything. Just doesn't feel as tight as you want. the amount of QTEs in the fights towards the end. Just too many. You hit the boss with a combo, then mash buttons in 4 QTE sequences in a row. They don't make the battles better or harder, they just take away your time and enjoyment. The trophies I'm surprised the platinum is at 11% rarity here. It's not difficult at all. And you'll have half of the trophies when you just finish the game. My guess is that many people look at some of the trophies and don't want to go for them. I'll go through some of them. There are 4 speedrunning trophies. You have to get from one location to another in time. I got them all 1-2 try. You just have to follow the magic compass withot stopping and not run the wrong way. You will have enough time even if you fall once. 2 combo trophies. Somehow the rarest ones on the list. One for doing a 14 hit combo. One for doing every combo from the combo list (there are much more possible combo chains in the game). For the first one you just have to do the specific button combination. You can look it up. For the second one it's better to follow a video. I did all 63 combos in 5 or 6 fights in ~2 hours. The trick is to let the enemy hit you after your attacks so their health refills. Also repeat the combo if you're not sure it counted (animation interrupts when you push an enemy into the wall or the edge of a platform). Trophies for collecting the light seeds. There are 1001 of them. It's a big number, but most of them are easy to find, and you will have most of them at the end anyway. These trophies are also not hard because the map shows you how many seeds you've collected in each location. There are videos for every location if you have trouble getting the trickier ones. Makes me a little sad that the story DLC is unawailable. I'd love to play it and get to 100%. But I'm satisfied with the ending and the plat nevertheless. Popular Post Hanstarkiller17
Platinum #41 100% #50 Assassin's Creed Unity After all the negative reviews and reactions when this game came out, I was very hesitant to buy it, but Ubisoft had a sale a little while back (shocker) and I grabbed it up for cheap. I'm on an Assassin's Creed kick lately and after Liberation, it was nice to play a more established and less buggy game. I was pleasantly surprised by this game! I was expecting a buggy lag fest, but I only had lag issues in one co-op mission, and it was fine after we migrated hosts, and I got stuck in an object twice, but was able to roll out of it each time. The collectibles were pretty grindy, but not as bad as I had expected, and I even finished all the Stories of Paris missions to break up the monotony of the collectibles. I have a couple friends who have this game still, so I will probably leave it installed for a little while to play some missions with them some time. Next up, the Fate of Atlantis Chapter 3 on the 15th, and hopefully one more cleanup platinum before then!
