Popular Post Carol
#169 Assassin's Creed Revelations (PS4) The Conqueror Get Every Trophy This is my third and final platinum in the fantastic Ezio trilogy. I loved playing through these games for the first time. They are the proof that Ubisoft knows how to make great games when they want to. I can't even choose a favourite, although maybe Brotherhood stands out a bit. It was also the one that gave me more work. In Revelations, we play as an older and more mature Ezio, in 16th century Constantinople. It was refreshing playing in a new location. Seeing the conclusion of Ezio's story was an emotional moment. Now, I understand all the affection that people feel for him. He was, indeed, a great protagonist. Trophy-wise, the 100% synch this time was much easier and even straightforward than in Brotherhood, that was much more demanding. I am already somewhat experienced in AC games, so that helped too, alongside with some luck in the no-damage requirements. The Desmond sequences and the Lost Archive ones were the truly hard things in this game. I didn't like them much in the beginning, because the gameplay is completely different from the main game, but, since they were challenging, I started enjoying them more. It felt good to pass the several sections. It's also in the Lost Archive that we can find the hardest trophies in the game (two no-death trophies). In conclusion, I feel happy and accomplished for finally having experienced these three fantastic games and for having been able to achieve their respective platinums. I also would like to point out that these games have amazing tombs, that completely put to shame the ones from the recent AC games. The Ezio trilogy is a definitely a must-play.

Popular Post Dragon-Archon
#207: Fairy Fencer F Advent Dark Force After the disaster that was Omega Quintet, I was very hesitant to try a new series from Compile Heart and Idea Factory. Some people on this site told me this game is nothing like Omega Quintet and after playing, I wholeheartedly agree. The game starts with a brief summary about events from eons ago: the Goddess and the Vile God waged a war that lasted years and at the end they both exhausted all their powers and went into a deep slumber. They created the fairies, which are tied to a weapon (called Furies). These furies can be used to unseal the deities and revive them. People that can wield a Fury are known as Fencers. The game starts with a lazy protagonist who only likes to eat and sleep. After hearing a rumour about a Fury that will grant the wish of whoever can wield it, he tries his luck and succeeds. This sets him on the path to awaken the Goddess and the protagonist reluctantly goes along. At the halfway point of the game, the story goes into one of three routes. Each of the routes is vastly different form one another, though the Goddess route is very similar to the first half of the game, which was a minor disappointment. I consider the Evil Goddess route the true ending, because at the very end some new information is revealed that can be used for a sequel. Besides that very short scene, any of the three routes can be considered the true ending. I liked the fact that certain characters are allies or enemies depending on which route is chosen. The characters are diverse and I like the protagonist's character growth. As for best girl, I'm leaning towards Tiara with Ethel being a close second. After completing a route and starting NG+, unlocked characters can be used at any time, even when playing other routes. There's one soundtrack (Sherman's Theme) that I liked a lot. Even the grinds aren't so bad (you know, for a Compile Heart/IF game). The 5 million gold can be done by defeating a boss during the story. This boss has a ridiculously high defence, so it can't be done during the first playthrough. Defeating it yields 5.75 million gold. The only real grind is defeating 10,000 enemies. After four playthroughs I only had a little over 6,000 kills (and even that was because I defeated every enemy I encountered). Farming the remaining 4,000 kills took around 5-6 hours of constantly fighting enemies. There can only be 6 enemies at most per battle. Popular Post Jelly Soup
#107 - Marvel's Spider-Man Really not sure how I feel about the game, honestly. I was finding most of the main story rather boring mixed with perfectly annoying boss fights. But once I got the combat down, the general clean up wasn't bad. Even if it makes you want to do Batman stuff but without the convenience mechanics. Still, not terrible. And lots of DLC to go yet, as of this posting I'm just at the end of the first pack.
Popular Post MissShake
#43: Samurai Shodown Samurai Shodown Earn all trophies in the game. I'm not sure if I love or hate this trophy image... But anyway, this game is awesome! I have always enjoyed the SNK fighting games I have gotten my hands on, so when this was announced I knew I was gonna give it a go. This is a fairly easy plat to go for, I think the only aspect that might give you trouble is Gauntlet mode. That mode is not particularly hard, but it can be a bit exhausting and sometimes it does feel like you need good luck to get the perfect run. I can't wait to come back when the DLC is out!

Popular Post Dragon-Archon
#208: Shining Resonance Refrain I had high expectations for this game, because it seemed like a fun JRPG with dragons and music in a fantasy setting where the protagonist goes on an epic quest to save the world. However, after completing it, I have very mixed feelings about the game. I can't help but wonder if my high expectations caused that. The story starts of strong with the synopsis, but becomes a bit mediocre after chapter 4. Luckily, it picks up again near the end. The game has multiple character endings and I was relieved when finding out it's possible to work on all endings simultaneously as the game puts you back before the final boss fight when clearing it. This enables players to choose another character and get their ending (provided you have enough affection). Something I appreciate a lot is that the game has optional epilogues that show what happens when choosing a love interest. These take place after the game's ending. The best thing about the game is definitely the graphics, everything looks very nice. The locations are diverse as are party members and their personalities. Each party member plays different, which adds variety to the combat. The main character can transform into a dragon and I also like how musical instruments are incorporated into special weapons, which can be used for extra buffs or debuffs during battles. These buff/debuff songs are nice to listen to. The soundtrack in the game is ok, it fits the environment and situations, but I wish there was an epic boss battle theme. I did like the dessert theme, which reminded me a lot of the music from The Mummy (the movie with Brendan Fraser). Another thing I appreciate is: the game hardly has any grinds, which is very rare in RPG games. Now as for the things I didn't like. The game has two game modes: Original and Refrain. The difference between those is that in Refrain you have two more party members. I thought Refrain was some kind of enhanced story mode where the two party members (Excella and Jinas) would join at some point during the story. But that doesn't happen. They're both there from the start and you can interact with them and take them with you, but that's it. No explanation as to why/when they join. This is especially disappointing considering Excella is featured prominently on the cover of the Draconic Launch edition and on the image in the XMB menu, which makes her seem like the main heroine. At the final boss fights there's some new information revealed that's meant as a plot twist. I don't mind that, but it's not done properly as the new information was never mentioned or even hinted at before. The final boss just casually mentions that there used to be a group that set things in motion, but the group has never been mentioned before nor is there any explanation that follows about the group, so I'm wondering why he bothered mentioning it now. It doesn't add anything to the story. From chapter 3 on it became necessary to farm levels as enemies' levels are increased by 10 at the start of each chapter. Unfortunately, the amount of exp they yield hardly increases and even decreases when leveling up. Side quests don't yield exp either, which is a shame considering the game likes to recycle quests a lot. Almost all quests don't offer money either, which means most quest don't add anything and are pointless. The game has no fast travel system even though there are resting camps. That means players have to go from the hub area to wherever the main quest tells them to go. There is an item to teleport back to the hub area, but you'll have to manually return to continue the story. The frame rates drop a lot when fighting lots of enemies or when enemies/allies use AoE attacks, which is very annoying as this happens a lot. The bestiary only fills when obtaining the information from enemies (very rare drop) or when using a RNG mechanism at the cost of gold that likes to give duplicates. The game needs more in-depth explanations about the bond mechanic. It only explains what the mechanic is, but doesn't go into detail about the colours of the traits and bonds and what those mean. Something that was missing are endings for secondary characters. I liked the scenes with Primula and Rapple and would've loved to see a conclusion. All in all, the game had a lot of potential, but needed to be polished a lot more. It's a real shame it was released like this as it's very mediocre. There is enough room for a sequel, especially after seeing some of the character endings. If there's ever a sequel, I hope the developer improves the cons while keeping the pros.

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#279 - Dragon Age II The Ultimate Reward Completed all Bronze, Silver and Gold Trophies Ahh, the game that started Bioware's downfall... I've certainly not missed you. It's not a terrible game, but it doesn't even come close to the original in terms of quality. The repeated environments, lacklustre story, tedious wave-based combat, etc. The faults of this game have been talked to death, so I won't go into details. The trophies were quite a pain in the ass considering how much you need to keep track of in terms of collectables. I'm just glad that it's done and I can move onto something else.

Popular Post TheFalseDeity
#53 - Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Lionheart Obtain all trophies My favorite game from my favorite series on PS4 at last ;-; The same amazing game it always was but now it looks better and has a 3x speed option. Definitely wouldnt of minded them upgrading the backgrounds to the same extent as the character models but its easy enough to get used to. And as far as difficulty goes...VIII was already the easiest game i had ever played then some genius came along and decided why not add cheats for it to boot. Cake plat as expected though i was expecting more trophies but oh well.
Popular Post Sergen
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 (PS4): Platinum #136 Difficulty: 2/10 Time Taken: 20-30 hours Current Fastest Achiever This platinum now completes a feat on my profile that I believe I am the only person to currently achieve. I now have every ultra rare Marvel platinum on PSN, which consists of: Marvel Heroes Omega, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, 3 stacks of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Marvel Ulfimate Alliance 1, Ultimate Alliance 2 (PS3) and now the PS4 version of Ultimate Alliance 2 . I also have 100% on the DLC for the PS3 version of this game, which I consider myself lucky for considering how quickly it got delisted back in the day. Anyway, onto the game... This time I did it entirely solo, which made it a very enjoyable game, back when I did it on PS3 it was in online co-op where you are restricted to the same screen space and the connection is peer to peer and susceptible to lag and disconnections with your online partners. As a solo experience all I could think was "I wish I did this solo on PS3 too" because it was a completely new experience that gave me a real appreciation for the effort that went into making this game. Ultimate Alliance 3 is currently available on the switch and in the past I'd have said I dreaded that release, but I hope some day it can be ported over to PS4, where I will probably buy it on release if it happens. I will say that when I did the PS3 version I was dragged into doing 3 full playthroughs of the game, because we thought team boosts could only be acquired by doing 2 full playthroughs on legendary, however doing the PS4 version all I had to do was use the mission replay option in the simulator to do the anti-registration missions on legendary after doing a pro-registration playthrough on legendary. One of the trophies was severely glitched on me, the "Undefeated Heroes" trophy, I saw a lot of people complain about that being glitched and the "fix" was to beat a boss in co-op, that didn't work for me so I wasted a bit of time trying to fix it. In the end my fix was to start my legendary playthrough, then the trophy unlocked after the Von Bardas boss fight there, although I certainly beat her without reviving teammates on Super Heroic previously. Aside from the Undefeated Heroes experience, nothing on this game really hurt me mentally in terms of attempting to earn trophies. This was a painful grind back when I did it on PS3, but on PS4 it was fairly peaceful, I guess a lot changed about my grinding mentality considering the game I did before this was The Elder Scrolls Online, which significantly shits all over MUA2 in every aspect of grinding. I reviewed the platinum for the PS3 version when I got it, that can be seen here: Now I kinda wish that the first game of this series had a stack that I could do, so I could see how different it would be to solo compared to doing it in co-op... Maybe when they decide to port it over to the PS5 Edited September 4, 2019 by Sergen
Popular Post starcrunch061
Plat #352: Detroit: Become Human DETROIT MASTER Collected all trophies! Having hated Heavy Rain, I must confess a certain surprise that I enjoyed Detroit as much as I did. David Cage would never be accused of sub tell tea, but Detroit makes up for it with a lot of spirit. Heavy rain looked like a smorgasbord of plagiarized movies (off the top of my head, I remember Saw, Minority Report, and 2001), with lousy, patchwork storytelling to boot. Detroit still keeps with the plagiarism spirit (who didn't see Shawshank Redemption when Markus climbs out of the scrap yard, in the rain, before kneeling down and looking to the sky?), but the characters were more...well, not really believable, but...spirited. The game supports a strong blind playthrough and a weak second playthrough. The trophies are a bit of an annoyance, though. I was fortunate that my blind playthrough managed to push most of the buttons necessary for the "pacifist" trophies (such as keeping everyone alive throughout, or getting Hank and Connor to be friends). I didn't succeed on all of these, but it was easy to manipulate later chapters to make it happen. Woe to the person, though, who played a more machine-like playthrough, but failed to get Conner killed enough times; you're pretty much forced to do TWO more playthroughs afterward. I know that people complain about the silly, easy lists from TellTale games, but there has to be a happy medium between that and requiring structure in what should be a choice-driven game.
Popular Post DEI2EK
Plat #29, The Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 2 And this wraps up my marathon of first times and replays until Cold Steel 3 is out in October. I played through CS 1 and 2 years ago, but that was before I had played any other of the kiseki games, so i always wanted to play TiTs and the Crossbell games and revist CS later, which i did. Through the last two years I've worked on playing from the first TiTs to CS2. I played the Crossbell games over the summer with the shoddy fan translations but still really enjoyed them, AO might even be my favorite of the series. That being said, CS2 has a lot of problems story telling wise but I still enjoyed it. Falcom is pretty consistent in the way they tell their stories and fights and it starts to wear on you if you've stuck with them this long. There's only so many times i can win the fight only to see the characters i just beat up stand right back up in the cutscene, feels like it takes all power away from the characters. Too many characters is also a problem, with earlier games there were smaller casts which allowed them to be much more fleshed out, where here everyone sort of feels very tropy or one note. I still have characters i like but a few of them (Gaius, Machias, Emma) largely feel irrelevant save for Emma's role in the story that Celine does better anyway. Trophy wise it was pretty easy, you can make Laura or Millium total tanks that can one shot bosses with the right combinations. Fully buffed Laura i was hitting 450k+ damage with an S craft. I think I enjoyed the first CS more than the second, the second the plot sort of takes a back seat to flying around goofing off. One of the main plot points was really dumb, they want to bring -spoiler- home, and make him graduate, but he's a terrorist that shot the chancellor, and in the same scenes where they talk about bringing him home, Class VII members chastise other members of the Imperial Liberation Front for being terrorists and telling them they need to face judgment for their crimes. Lots of inconsistences. Overall, I like the game, but there are a lot of flaws that pick at you while playing it. It's nice recognizing all the constant callbacks and terms too, McBurn mentioning Loewe won't mean anything to someone who hasn't played Sky but to people who have played all the games, it's cool how Kiseki is an overarching story. I'll be looking forward to CS3 though and will add that plat to my collection. Hoping for those Crossbell games and Sky games to come to PS4 with trophy support one day too. Maybe we have hope of an official trnaslation of Crossbell games since Falcom wanna realese both games on PS4. I mean we can play until now almost all except Crossbell with an official translation. Is very interesting because you can find something very similar between Trails in the Sky and CS... but of course you must play first Sky to see it (: you should do it, the first chapter is only 40 hours and the second chapter around 60 h
