Popular Post GarciaFever
#197 Riddled Corpses EX (PS4) This game is so much fun, and is really underrated. Originally i'm not that great when it comes to bullet hell-type games, but when it comes to this game, it doesn't matter, as long as you can keep an eye on where the bullets are coming from. There were times where my right hand cramped up because of having to direct the right stick to where the enemies spawn, but after several runs you get used to it. The graphics and pixelated style completely remind me of my days when I played Scot Pilgrim Vs. the World (and I wouldn't be surprised if it's from the same developers). This game does get a bit slow at the beginning, especially when you are stuck with using one character, but as you accumulate gold to buy the rest of the characters, it gets easier. Erika is so awesome, that you really don't need to play as anyone else once you unlock her due to having all of the abilities that the rest of the characters have. I don't know how the vita version compares to that of the PS4, but I would recommend playing on the latter due to the amount of screen space that you can maneuver around the enemy. Almost at the 200 platinum mark. Can't wait Edited September 28, 2019 by GarciaFever
Popular Post StraightVege
Time is on my side Earn all trophies #204 - Vampyr Those who have played the underrated sci-fi title "Remember Me," also developed by Dontnod, will know that they aren't the best at crafting polished gameplay experiences, and Vampyr is no exception: the game is quite rough around the edges, and technical issues abound. That doesn't mean it isn't worth trying, though! Roleplaying as a newly-turned vampire doctor, struggling with his oath to do no harm, as the blood thirst wears away at him, is what really makes this game hold your attention. You meet many interesting characters on the journey through Victorian London's four districts, who have complex relationships with one another, and the more you learn about their lives, the more XP their blood provides. The player might have to make some tough decisions about whether to feed on that sympathetic NPC they've come to know and love, or starve, and remain weaker as a result. My main criticism of Vampyr is that it has little to offer players like me, who chose a "pacifist" playstyle. Without feeding, NPC's stories never really develop beyond a certain point. After you've completed their side-quests, and learned all the hints about their backstories, they'll just sit around, repeating the same voice lines forever. And, since you end up with less XP for abilities, the janky combat (which is mostly a poor imitation of Bloodborne) isn't as interesting as it would be for a murderous player. I'm cognizant of the fact that this is exactly what they were aiming for; they want the player to choose between being powerful, or being ethical. I just think it could've been better balanced, offering more of an incentive to be good. I would have liked to see in-depth questlines, with satisfying outcomes for the characters. I also think combat experience gain should have been based on how much blood you manage to draw from enemies, rather than simply awarding a measly 5-10 XP per kill. This would have made "stun 'n bite" builds more worthwhile, too. I still earned more than enough experience to easily finish the game, however. Keeping the districts healthy to avoid collapse is an important aspect of Vampyr, but I never really felt like a doctor—more like a vampire alchemist, dashing around the city in the middle of the night, to cure people's colds with the magical potions I've crafted. Perhaps some type of "diagnosis" mini-game would have made this mechanic less shallow? Getting around the city is a chore, as well, despite it being deceptively small. You'll quickly find yourself mashing the dodge button (which is more like the Blink move from Dishonored) to quickly dash past enemies on the path to your next waypoint. A fast travel option would've been very welcome here. Vampyr is admittedly a mess - it constantly freezes to load the next area, with enemies popping into existence before your eyes; it crashed three times; NPCs get caught on each another and walk around in circles; facial animations are wooden; the corpses strewn about the environment look more like poorly-textured mannequins; much of the writing is melodramatic, to the point of being laughable: "What is a wall, but enslaved stone?! What is glass, but tortured sand?!" Yet, it kept me enthralled, despite its many problems. I couldn't wait to meet the next character, and discover everything about their personal life. It pretty much nails the dark atmosphere, too, due in no small part to the excellent soundtrack. This game is a must-play for vampire fans, if they can overlook the lack of polish. Those who enjoy Dontnod's approach to storytelling will likely be satisfied, also. I'm so glad unique, mid-tier games like this are still being released—they may be heavily flawed sometimes, but I find them a lot more intriguing than anything in the AAA sphere these days.

Popular Post Jiano_Vera
Platinum #96 - Killzone: Shadow Fall I don’t have much to say about this game, the shooting felt solid, however using your OWL drone makes most engagements incredibly easy, even on hard. The story was uninspired and featured a generic protagonist and a generic villain. The multiplayer is pretty much dead, but luckily, you can earn most trophies by yourself. 100% difficulty: 5/10 Time to 100%: ~50 hours Enjoyment: 7/10

Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #191 Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Remastered Platinum Earn all Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception™ Remastered Trophies Ah man, I think I love this game even more now than I did back when I first played it. It can be annoying at times in how it handles melee, and just how much is forced on you. Though I actually grasp it better now... I had a lot of glitches and weird animations happen on me in this version that I don't remember in the original. Like after having set my PS4 into rest mode and resuming the game all the dialog in cutscenes was mute, but nothing else was. So I had to turn off my PS4 and fix it that way. :/ Feels like this port got the least amount of polish; though it's been awhile since I've played the other two remasters, but I don't recall quite as many things. The weirdest glitch was while swimming around trying to get the trophy for killing enemies while swimming, I somehow ended up stuck in a ship. I wasn't even near the ship yet it teleported me into the floor you would otherwise walk on and I had to restart my checkpoint to fix it. I don't have a whole lot more to say about it other than I love it. Great music, great characters, awesome set pieces. I think Marlow is one of the most interesting villains in the series. I know some people harp on there being too many and the amount of running sections, but I think it all works as a whole package. And none of the puzzles are as annoying as U2. Though I remember when I first played it on PS3 I didn't know you could spin the globe with the right stick to rotate that puzzle and that problem resurfaced again since it's been so long since I played. lol I just wish U4 didn't retcon stuff, because Marlow literally details Nate's life and no mention of a brother in doing so... they couldn't have done literally anything else? It's just frustrating that you play a game you love and you have to be reminded of one you don't and the multitude of reasons why... I don't want to think about U4's dumb story and plothole creation when I play U3. I digress. Edited September 28, 2019 by Elvick_

Popular Post PooPooBlast
#126 and 100% Borderlands the Presequel It was about time I finished this game as I've had it installed for a while now. I also got to experience the game with the new 4k textures and HDR update and it looked noticeably better but the textures now take longer to load just like the ps3 borderlands did which wasn't that bad. As for the game itself, it's pretty much BL2 in space with the addition of boost jump and oxygen kit. That's not to say it's a bad thing but idk I wanted more. It wasn't a bad game at all though and the characters were fun to play as. I used claptrap to get to level 50 and I really loved his unpredictability in terms of his action skill. Whenever I landed pirate ship or gun wizard it felt like you hit a jackpot :). And shoutout to @DamagingRob for being my co-op buddy in the game. Had a blast :). Popular Post ArtisticGeek
#120 Innocence A Plague Tale: Innocence I LOVED this game it was so hard to put down, I was actually surprised with how brutal it could be it's definitely M rated for a reason. The story is touching in showing the relationship between the siblings which is a beautiful and much-needed contrast to the grim and horrible world they are stuck in ravaged by plague and madness. The game is beautiful in the traditional sense the forests of France have beautiful colors to them and there's this grotesque beauty like you want to look away but you just can't. In horror, I am not a fan of excessive gore without substance (the Saw series, etc.) but for me, the gore never felt like it went to excessive, is there a lot? yes definitely but it feels right and appropriate for what was going on, people did a lot of messed up stuff back in the old days. The concept of playing as kids going through this is also really well done in the gameplay it felt tense in the best way being limited in ways of combat with just a sling the stealth is vital and felt good to play through, and when you get further in the story and expand on your combat it feels well earned after all the literal hell these kids have been through. I really encourage anyone to play this, unless you have a rat phobia.

Popular Post Redgrave
#157: Be Greater - Spider-Man I'm not really into superhero stuff like I used to (especially Marvel for reasons I won't really get into here) but I went into this with an open mind and I wound up liking the story to this one. It felt like the people making it actually did like and cared about the source material they were working with and didn't want to just make a non-stop quip-fest with as much "How do you fellow kids?" style humor as possible. There was some of that but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be. Probably the worst of it was Screwball, and with the exception of the DLC she wasn't around as much thankfully. However her having a role in the DLC was pretty annoying. But the main story overshadows that thankfully, and I felt like the tone was consistent. The ending kind of hit me, and perhaps hit too close to home. Gameplay-wise swinging around the city was fun and for the most part felt tight except for certain sequences where I would wind up being stuck to a building when I don't mean to making chase sequences harder than they needed to be. Combat felt like the Arkham games which I liked although I feel like it really would have benefited from a lock-on since there were times where I wanted to focus on a specific enemy but I kept switching to another or accidentally wasting a focus meter on them when I meant to go after a Brute or something. Overall though I feel like Insomniac did pretty good.
