DEI2EK
1 hour ago, madbuk said: #336 - Ys: Memories of Celceta I have never played a Ys game before, so this was all new to me. It felt like a good introductory game - you don't need to know any of the lore or characters, and the systems are fairly simple and easy to adapt to. Seems like a franchise I'll be a fan of if the other games are a bit better, as this game is held back a bit by its story and characters, which are completely forgettable and bland, and the gameplay got a bit repetitive since none of the dungeons require any real thought. There were no puzzles, exploration didn't amount to much because there aren't really any side paths or secrets... If the other Ys games have better stories and more intricate dungeons, then I could definitely see myself playing more of this franchise in the future. I liked the concept of it basically being a collectathon mixed with a JRPG, although it didn't give you as many tools to track the stuff you're missing compared to 3D collectathons with in-depth level collection lists which is a shame. I hear the other Ys games fix this though which is very nice. I'll probably try out Ys VIII eventually, to see what a mainline numbered entry is like in comparison, but it won't be for a while. Reveal hidden contents Just an fyi, all Ys games are mainline, Celceta is actually a remake of Ys 4, not sure which version of 4 though, can’t remember.
Popular Post DamagingRob
#412- inFamous inFamous Platinum Trophy Collect all other inFamous trophies. Well, this was a long time coming. Think I was kind of scared to go back to it, either due to the shards or playing it again on Hard. Possibly even a combination of both. The shards I was right to be afraid of. Lol. Ended up missing 2, and thought, "Oh, shit.." But I lucked out and found them, while going for the Dead Drops. Hard difficulty wasn't much harder than Normal, and was nothing to be afraid of. I've played and completed a lot harder games since 2014, as well, so that was probably a contributing factor in it not feeling too difficult. Was fun to revisit, and am now finished with the series. Unless they continue it someday.

Popular Post Sofa King
# 123 Agatha Knife A simple point-and-click game that tasks you with helping young Agatha Knife form a religion to aid her Mum's failing butcher shop, as well as helping solve a personal dilemma of her own. Agatha loves animals, but she loves butchering and eating their meat just as much and hates that the animals are afraid of her (and her butcher's knives). Throughout the game you find different aspects of forming your new religion, meeting strange characters along the way and solving some simple puzzles. There's some dark, morbid humor as well as various pop culture references scattered in the various places you'll explore along the way. It's a cute game with some twisted humor and a relatively painless plat. If you're looking for something fun and effortless and like point-and-click games I'd recommend taking a look at this one.
Popular Post Lilseb93
#189 - Final Fantasy VIII Remastered The one Final Fantasy I never played before. It's not my favorite cast or story, and I did not like the combat system in this game, but I still got invested in this game. The ending is very emotional and is among the best in the series. Eyes On Me is one of my favorite FF songs. It was a pretty easy platinum thanks to the 3x speed. The hardest part is just the grinding to get to 1000 kills and dealing with Omega Weapon. #190 - Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast First of all, the trophy art for this game is atrocious. They didn't even try lol. I haven't played this game since I was a kid. It didn't really age well, but it's still pretty good. The platinum is actually easier than it would appear. You can use cheats for all the trophies as long as you turn them off, save, exit, and then load the save before you trigger the trophy. The hardest part was just finding information on how to do the trophies including where the secrets are. Once a guide pops up, a lot of people are going to get this plat. Popular Post Zach
#145 A Way Out Enjoyment: 8.5/10 Difficulty: 1.5/10 Time: 6-7hrs This was an awesome coop adventure. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about a forced coop game, but it was fantastic. I played this game with a long time PSN friend and we enjoyed every moment of it. We ended up laughing our asses off most of the time, like we always do. I also went in expecting less from the story, but was pleasantly surprised. Awesome plot twist is included and it was pretty damn cool. Points were docked off due to how short it was. This game is well worth it if you can find it for $20-25.
Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #193 Concrete Genie The Artist of Denska Known as "the street artist who brought Denska back to life". What a great game. Not without a few wonky things with the platforming. And it took awhile to get used to the motion controls for painting, you can change it to the right stick but I decided I liked being able to move my camera while painting and moving left to right with the left stick. Instead of going left to go left with it... it's right. Which is odd to me. But I got the hang of it eventually, but it was really hard at first to get used to. And no option to invert those around. The platforming problems are sometimes he won't grab a ledge as easily as other times, and one time I tried to drop down from a ledge and he would just keep climbing back up. It was an obvious glitch, but a strange one. Otherwise, there weren't a whole lot of glitches that I noticed. It's really polished honestly. And it was fun to explore the world and paint things and solve puzzles, though the puzzles never were too difficult. It would have been nice if the paintings did a bit more with the environment. At most your genies that you create and customize (which is more cool than I thought it would be) will interact with certain obstacles. It just would've been cool if to help your genie pass a wall you had to fill it up with water and place ice for them to cross or something. Instead they can just get to wherever as long as the walls connect. Which in a way makes it more focused I suppose. It's not a bad thing, just kind of a missed opportunity given then amount of things you can paint on the walls. I didn't really notice the music, so I can't really say if it's good. Given I have no opinion at all, it's probably just fine. Which is better than being annoying, but I feel like I should have some kind of impression and I don't. *shrug* Maybe it wasn't used much. Getting around the second part of town was a bit confusing to start off with, there was a lot of me ending back up where I started in the first area. So I had to really babysit the map to make sure I didn't keep doing that. Eventually I started to know what was what, it's just harder when you're on a bunch of rooftops with minimal ability to see landmarks around. Story was great, a lot better than I had thought it would be. I wasn't really sure about the plot at first, but it quickly justified itself and was handled very well. Major spoilers Spoiler really wanted to talk about the switch up in gameplay near the end, but I feel like it's a major spoiler and better left a surprise. And a vague "I wasn't expecting that" would probably spoil it just by having people expect something. I was not at all expecting the game to change up near the end, I was perfectly happy to keep painting away and progressing to the end. And then boom. You get to have combat and a skating ability [which persists after you beat the game which is great; combat doesn't since there's nothing left to fight]. The lock on camera didn't seem to work that well for me. There aren't any complex combos, lighting and air only serve to stun enemies [air on flying enemies to knock them down]. Fire is your main attack which can 'combo' but all of them are basically just a line attack forward, with the lightning being more like a cone attack. Fire just lets you spam it like 3 times quickly compared to the others. I think given how little it's in the game it's fine for it to be so simple. You can use all of them while powered up and while skating as well. It really upped the stakes along with the story at that moment, felt very final and really propels you through. When my Genies were corrupted I was heartbroken quite honestly. I put a lot of effort into making them all unique from each other and cute, and they all helped me through from the start. And building little areas for them to be happy, chill by the fire, blow flowers, pick flowers to hide from rain, and all those neat interactions they do made it very sad to see them that way. And you could find some of the ones who were still fine hiding and shivering in fear and it broke my heart even more. :'( Luckily there's a happy ending~ Love, love, loved it. Pixelopus [sp] continues to impress. Can't wait for their next game. Just wish I was skilled enough to get 100% in Entwined to show my love of them even more, but I'm really bad at that game. edit; oh I forgot, the character animation is a bit stiff. Otherwise the visuals are stellar, and the Genies animate really well. I even like how the facial animation is kind of stop motion-y. But the other animations just feel a bit too quick and jarring in their stiffness to mirror stop animation so it's something I noticed. it doesn't negatively impact my view of the game obviously, but there it is. I like my plat screen so I'll share it Spoiler Edited October 11, 2019 by Elvick_

Popular Post Xeroknight67
# 28 Bioshock Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 3/10 My Rating: 8/10 This is the third time I've played Bioshock and I still love the story. I usually don't do well with horror games but this one is like the lowest spectrum of what could be considered horror. Dark areas where you can hear people talking but can't see them and the few jump scares drive me nuts. I will admit I went through the whole game on easy then switched the difficulty at the end so I did not actually have to beat the survivor difficulty. I wasn't looking for a super challenging run, I just enjoyed this games story and I did. Now on to Bioshock 2...maybe
Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
Platinum No. 136! Atelier Shallie ~Alchemists of the Dusk Sea~ All trophies obtained And this is my Atelier platinum No. 10! And now Nelke has the 6.000th milestone! What to say about this game? I said almost everything in the Atelier Shallie Plus trophy. The PS3 version has less playable characters (only 7 or 8, and no Achemists from the previous games, except Keithgriff) and (a lot of) events, like Logy's arrival in Stellard, Ayesha's help, and more cutscenes relatd to the story (for example, Wilbell didn't show the Water Spirit's memory to Keithgriff. And how did he know these ones in the PS3 version?!). And of course, the ending cutscenes are completely different between PS3 and Vita version. But, since there were less events to watch, also the game was less boring! Unfortunately, the "worst" trophy was (again) the lv. 99 combat: you need to kill over and over bosses like Sea Phoenix, the Giant in the Crystal Valley and the Beast in the Herbal Garden - Depths, and find some orange life tasks which can give you 5.000 - 10.000 exp points. Thankfully, the Aquarius soundtrack is never annoying! And is my favourite in the game, together with all the variations of the Sand Sea theme (but probably I'd already written in the previous post...). No platinum screenshot (just a pitch black screen, since the subtitles ran too fast!), but I didn't remember the Miruca's victory pose after using her special attack! So I use this, and is also perfect, since I reached my goal of the 10 Atelier platinum trophies!

Popular Post FarSideOfSaturn
#35 Dark Souls Remastered - The Dark Soul - All trophies Obtained I didn't go hollow! Never in a million years, did I think I'd platinum Dark Souls. I was persuaded to buy it by my friend so I think I'll ask his opinion more often, because this was amazing. Let me start with the gameplay, I mean, it's clunky for sure but it's an eight year old game so that's to be expected. Once I was used to it, which took a few hours, cheap deaths started to happen less often as I learned how to spot enemies attack patterns and respond accordingly. How to deal with multiple enemies, switching to a weapon more suited to my situation and environment. I really enjoy tactical combat in games and this was a great example of how to do it. I picked up zweihander early on in my playthrough, despite being OP, I found I still had to learn to use it properly. If you go in swinging wildly, yeah you'll nail the first few enemies but you'll leave yourself wide open. The game punishes that sooner or later with a well placed sword in the face/arrow in the knee. The level/world design is great too. With no hand holding and the only hint at where to go coming from NPC's, it encourages exploration and expects you to use common sense when it's obvious you're in a part of the world that's too high a level for you. I had a close encounter with the Catacombs and New Londo early on, luckily I was able to recognize the signs (getting my ass kicked) and turned back. No experience is wasted though, wherever you go there's items to find, NPC's to meet. Aside from a few dead ends, I loved the way most of the world is connected via cleverly placed shortcuts. The world was really well designed and thought out. I was disappointed with the lack of lore in the game, I know there's plenty of lore in the Dark Souls series, but didn't manage to find an in game source like I did in say, Skyrim. Maybe it is there, but I just didn't find it? So I'll be hitting the Dark Souls wiki after writing this... So, boss fights. The main source of frustration for many players. I feel like I did pretty well with Capra Demon, Gaping Dragon, Sif, Moonlight Butterfly, Ornstein & Smough, Pinwheel, Nito, Seath, Ceaseless, Centipede Demon, Firesage Demon, Bed of Chaos and Gwyn (twice) all going down on the first try. I clocked up seventeen deaths across the rest combined. The only boss I really struggled with was Four Kings, I couldn't do enough damage before getting swarmed by them and had to summon my friend to help me out. Multiplayers pretty dead, but I did have a ton of fun helping other players with bosses, mostly Ornstein & Smough as that's the most likely place for someone to respond to your summon sign. And I was only invaded a handful of times so missed out on PvP. Again, it's an aging game so I can't complain about that. The trophies weren't too bad but I was lucky enough to have my friend help with the weapons trophies (thanks if you're reading!). Collecting all spells/magic takes some work and time but doesn't ask you to do anything difficult, meanwhile the rest are largely story based save for a couple of missable boss fights. Of course getting a hand with the weapon trophies meant I didn't have to go through a second and third playthrough so that made it significantly easier. I did have to NG+ for a couple of spells I missed, but it took less than half an hour from the starting point to get them. Think that's everything I wanted to cover, praise the sun! + Great level design which encourages exploration + Multiple builds and options for your character + Memorable boss fights + Visuals and audio give the game an atmosphere + Excellent DLC included with remastered edition - Clunky controls and camera ...erm...yeah. That's literally the only thing I didn't like Time to platinum: 52 hours (including helping in multiplayer) Difficulty: 7/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 My quest has ended, rest with the cinders now...and don't you dare go hollow trophy hunters. Popular Post StraightVege
Master BardUnlocked all Trophies! #207 - The Bard's Tale Now this brought back memories of a simpler time, when top-down perspective ARPGs were trendy. Champions of Norrath and Dark Alliance were far better games mechanically, but Bard's Tale had personality! Fans of Cary Elwes films and Monty Python will feel right at home here, as the game thoroughly mocks every RPG trope. Sure, some of the humor has aged quite poorly, but it remains charming overall, and the clever sing-along songs written by Tommy Tallarico still bring a smile to your face. It also features delightful voice-over performances by legends like Tony Jay (unfortunately deceased), who narrates, while constantly roasting The Bard—a definite highlight. The summon system really set this game apart at the time, as well: The Bard can play his instrument to call 16 different companions onto the field, each with their own abilities and quirky personalities. Combat is clunky, and the dungeons are dull as dishwater, but having this group of misfit friends around keeps things lively. My favorite is probably the Explorer - he's an elderly, retired adventurer, who is compelled to throw himself on every trap for The Bard, complaining all the while. This port has some graphical oddities, such as NPCs with missing eye textures, but nothing game-breaking. I'd love to see more of these genre classics get remastered; overly complicated stuff like Path of Exile isn't really to my taste.
