Popular Post DEI2EK
Infamous 2 Platinum Trophy My 32nd plat and 4th plat in the inFamous series, going to do Festival of Blood tonight and hopefully knock it out in 1 night. Anyway this was definitely an improvement on the first Infamous game in almost every way, they actually gave Cole a personality in this one, something he lacked in the first game. Trophy wise, much easier than the first. Shards were a pain to find in the first game, you had to painstakingly follow a map while in this one, you had a power that could help you find them. Both endings were pretty great with some emotional moments in both, but the evil ending was my favorite because of the scene on top of the Cathedral. "I gotta try" "I know" Neither of them had difficult final boss fights unlike Kessler in the first game not that is a big deal, Kessler was a pain. Not having to do 20ish stunts for the plat was nice too, though UGC is annoying and i did the quickest easiest stuff i could find, i'm sure there's good stuff in there somewhere but i don't feel like searching for it. Still prefer Cole's voice actor in the first game to this one though and they should have made your good/evil choices matter more in the story. In one scene Cole asks Bertrand if he really thinks he's the demon of empire city and during my evil playthrough i'm just like, yeah dude we've slaughtered tons of people you're kinda the bad guy Cole Zeke was great, they sort of memory holed what he did in the first game though which i found kind of dumb, they bring it up occasionally but they sort of forget about it. I didn't much care for Kou or Nix though, actually couldn't stand Nix. I think I would say Infamous 2 > Second Son > Infamous > First Light Hopefully Sucker Punch can bring us another game in the series for the PS5 Edited October 17, 2019 by DEI2EK

Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #196 Ghost Giant Boast Giant Unlock all trophies. Plat icon sucks and is literally the same icon for every trophy... trophy name is cute though. Loved the game. It's a bit more janky than something like Moss or Astro Bot, but accomplished the same feel for me overall. More focused on puzzles involving the uses of 2 PS Moves which is where the wonkiness comes in a bit. Granted a lot of that involves the big ass chair I sit in. An odd thing is when I boot up the game prior to booting my PS VR, it will always get stuck in a "return to play area" problem. Even though I don't move. Closing and reopening the game always fixed it. Both times I opened up the game I had that same problem. *shrug* Luckily you can adjust the height you see things so that kind of makes it easier to deal with. Just wish you could change without exiting to the menu every time and having to start a chapter all over. The story starts off really cute, then gets more emotional and impactful as things go on. It's got some nice pacing, and puzzles start pretty simple and get... I wouldn't say really complex, they're still simple but they get a bit more meaty. If that makes sense. There's just more to do in later chapters. Though some are still a bit short content wise near the middle for story to be put in the main driving seat. Visuals are really good, I love the art direction. Really adds to the desire of a Tearaway VR since this game's world is built with what looks like a bunch of wood pieces compared to Tearaway's paper. *sigh* Unfolded was wasted on flat PS4, oh well. The voice acting is awesome, music is good as well. I don't have a whole lot of criticisms beyond that a lot of objects require pinpoint accuracy to touch. I had to scoot my chair across the floor in order to get it out of the way so I could grab a stupid egg for example that had rolled half way down a hill [if you play it keep an eye out for the chickens and where you pop the egg out or you may hate yourself :P]. But anything indicated that you can interact with it with gold [most big things that tbh wouldn't need that] will give you a good few inches leeway to grab it with a kind of ghostly tether despite not touching it. I just wish it were consistent for all things you interact with. Would've reduced the frustration quite a bit just for that. Otherwise sometimes you'd grab something and the physics would fling it far, far, far away for no apparent reason. Or things could get stuck into the enviornment. Luckily things reset to their initial position the vast majority of the time to avoid that being a huge problem, just gotta be careful when snap turning between the 3 spots you can look. Which really only serves to not strain your neck more than being completely necessary. Otherwise your in one position like your inside a diorama. Finding all the collectables was fun I just missed two bugs and had to look them up and felt pretty silly for missing them both. :/ The rest was easy enough to find on my own. I always appreciate that in a game like this, especially in VR. Only other thing to say is that I wish you had a reflect in water like in Moss. You start the game in a lake so it's kind of a bummer you can't get that similar feeling. My criticism of Moss and how I wanted more moments where you could catch a glimpse of yourself in more reflective surfaces or just more water is 10x here since there isn't one. I just really like that further connection with the world. Astro Bot had it just enough with the cameras and seeing yourself that way that it didn't matter as much, especially since you are constantly moving and your character in that game is actually holding the controller you play with which is a constant reminder. And while this does have your ghost arms, they just fade off halfway up, it would've been cool to see your full body at some point like in Astro Bot and Moss [well, I think you really only see the mask/face in Moss iirc]. But like I said, I loved. It was right up my alley and I hope to see more VR stuff like it in the future. (if anyone knows of some let me know)

Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #401: Black Mirror Difficulty: 2.5/10 Playtime: 4 hours Enjoyment: 5.5/10 I wanted to enjoy this but it just couldn't go the distance. Atmosphere for days and some savvy cinematic choices aren't enough make up for the dire frame rate and dated character animation. Not to mention the load times (which were ostensibly even worse pre-patch) and constant backtracking. The story kind of gets rushed towards the end. Too bad, as I quite liked the main character and it had some genuinely good, weighty emotional beats. But in the end, it's a marathon, not a sprint. Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #197 Along Together Imaginary Friend Earn all other trophies in Along Together. lol that plat icon. Didn't think it would be so quick and easy to plat, but hey one closer to being able to play Ni no Kuni again. It was okay. It was a bit unresponsive at times for the 'hand' (which represents your DS4), if you were on a moveable icon at the wrong time you wouldn't be able to grab it, you'd have to remove your hand then do it again for some reason. Never got the hang of it. I didn't really feel much of a connection between the imaginary friend I was apparently playing and the character you can choose to play (between a boy and girl, girl was cuter so picked her but... her voice was annoying, wonder what the boy sounded like lol). You can high five, but there's no reflection in the water of what you look and there's no indication that you are anything other than a floating hand. And the main character rarely acknowledges you, they're focused on getting their dog back. Which is relatable, but kind of makes for a weird dynamic between the entity you're meant to be and the character. So ultimately it just felt like playing a generic puzzle game. Which is a bit unfortunate. It could've been executed better to make the VR more impactful. As it is, it doesn't feel much like a VR game. A bit more would've gone a long way. The only other thing is them pointing to things, but it's not nearly enough to me. Especially coming off platting Ghost Giant and Moss (and with Astro Bot still beloved in my mind) And quite frankly, I wasn't impressed much with the VR itself. The graphics are really simple and the art is fine, but it's just kind of bland in terms of VR. And the camera moves in such an odd way. It's like Astro Bot, if Astro Bot's camera also moved left right and diagonally constantly. It made me queasy at first, especially when it moved left to right rather than just turn you so the camera continued to move forward. A forward moving camera is far more comfortable. Honestly, they could've just pulled the camera back and let you see the entire level without having the camera move in most of the levels. Or at least did it that way and ensured that it only had to move forward like Astro Bot. And it was slow to move when you had to go backwards like if you notice a collectable you missed behind you or something. Don't mean to be so down on the game, but I see more potential in it than was accomplished. But I bought the devs other game just to support their VR efforts. The puzzles were pretty interesting though, and it doesn't really spoon feed you on what to do. Introduces new mechanics throughout, at most your little kid partner will point toward what a switch did so you can figure it out easier. Sometimes it's hard to notice since the camera is so closed in. It took me a few minutes of "hmm, what to do..." moments on a couple of them, but none of them were so obtuse that I couldn't figure them out on my own eventually. I always like that in a puzzle game personally. All the trophies were straight forward and easy. The only one people may struggle with is the flappy bird-esque minigame on the handheld [no idea what that genre would be called, I know there were tons of flash games; even facebook ones like that way before that game but I know people know what that game is]. But, unlike something like Flappy Goat on Goat Simulator it's actually programmed well. The hitboxes are done beautifully, the amount of room for error is great. And I didn't really have much of a problem with it. I think I got the 40 points the 3rd or 4th attempt at it. Not counting failing after 20 since the trophy icon popped up and covered half the screen of the minigame lol. The collectables were all easy to find, just keep your eyes on the look out for some sparkles and there it will be. Usually noticeable right on your path, it's just a matter of figuring out the way to get to it. Most super easy, others just take a bit of looking around and thinking. Excluding time I took as a short break (phone call, switching my controllers because my battery was dying) it took less than 2 hours to do everything. Popular Post StraightVege
Dex Complete the game #209 - Dex A solid cyberpunk RPG that, with some tweaks, could have been something special. This is basically 2D Deus Ex: the player explores a gritty and atmospheric open world city, completing many interesting quests (typically with multiple paths and outcomes), to expose a nefarious megacorp's crimes. There are a dozen or so cybernetic augmentations to install, allowing you to perform pretty cool feats, such as leaping ridiculously high, or turning invisible. These are accompanied by various abilities to level-up, like hacking and lockpicking. The improvements you make to your character, the titular Dex, are quite satisfying overall. At the press of a button, you can freeze the action and enter "augmented reality" mode, to hack devices and enemies, which functions like a simplistic shoot 'em up mini-game. It's repetitive and lacks challenge, but provides a bit of gameplay variety. An interesting mechanic, but it could have been executed a lot better. NPC interaction features some fairly complex dialogue trees, too, including persuasion options. Some of the voice acting and writing is truly cringe-worthy, but the sheer amount is still impressive for a smaller title. I was really disappointed with the awful combat, however—not only is it super clunky, but it becomes boring 30 minutes in, since the most efficient strategy is to just block and punch; guns and advanced melee moves are nearly useless. Dex probably would have been a better game if they had left the fighting out altogether, so I avoided it, by using stealth takedowns as often as possible. Another issue is that I kept accidentally going into AR mode (L3) during battles, which was tremendously annoying. Developers, this is why you should always allow customizable controls! The game doesn't hold your hand, either, as there's no map or objective markers in Dex. It's very easy to get lost when trying to figure out where a quest destination even is. I don't mind this much, but it would probably be a deal-breaker for many. They should have had augmentations to help you navigate easier. While I can see why Dex was unpopular enough to be on sale for a dollar, it's still a worthwhile play for lovers of the cyberpunk subgenre, if one can overlook the flaws.
Popular Post ShonenCat
Platinum #40 - Persona 4 Golden Difficulty Rating 3/10 Enjoyment Rating 7/10 Very Rare - 6.32% I’m certainly no stranger when it comes to Shin Megami Tensei games. I’m what you would call a huge fan of the mainline series, but I never branched out to give the spin offs a try until now. Persona 4 Golden is the very first Persona game I have ever played. In many ways it’s similar to SMT so I had a fairly easy time getting back into such things like the press turn battle and demon fusion systems. In fact, I would say P4G is a lot more forgiving in it’s default difficulty compared to something like SMT:Nocturne or SMT4. If you ask me, P4G is a much more relaxing experience compared to games in the mainline SMT series. Character relationships and development seem to play a much bigger part here with a story that’s not as dark and is much more filled with modern anime tropes in between. While the storyline still very much has it’s mature themes, a majority of the time it feels like a slice-of-life comedy series. I can’t say much because a big part of this game’s appeal is not knowing what comes next and I wouldn’t want to spoil it for anyone. I really want to share my knowledge with you all on how you should go about obtaining Hardcore Risette Fan the most dreadful trophy in the entire game, but just PM me and I’ll provide you with some simple and easy to understand tips that will get you on the road to success. For now, here is a nice Fusion Recipe Generator for all your fusing needs ^^ It’s hard to say where I stand on the Persona series right now, I feel like I should play Persona 3 FES and Persona 5 before properly giving it the slaughter or salvage. Right now, I very much prefer my mainline SMT more. Darker stories, more emphasis on dungeon crawling, more satisfying demon collecting, more control over party management and not filled with anime tropes. Don’t get me wrong, P4G is a good game. In fact, it’s damn good. My Vita system has the official ATLUS P4G skin attached to it with official Vita wallpapers to match, so that should tell you that it’s left an impression on me for a while now. For three weeks straight I couldn’t put the game down, I lounged on the floor and played it every waking moment I could while living off spicy beef stir fry the whole time. It’s safe to say I had a great time with this title as it has started to help me overcome some of my more recent depression and now I can’t wait to play more in the series. I wish I could say P4G has a best girl, but not a single one was able to catch my interest whatsoever, a total letdown in that department... hopefully Persona 5 will have some babes ready and waiting when I get around to playing it Of course, what I’m eagerly waiting to play is Shin Megami Tensei 5, but I have a good amount of Persona games to play until that day comes

Popular Post NullSpace84
#41: Utawarerumono Zan Scattershot musou, scattershot reflection. This game is a curious, if not untenable, creation. I truly couldn't speculate /who/, precisely, chomped at the saddle for an Utawarerumono action title, yet here it is! As advertised, the game retells Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception - in scattershot truncation. A few scenes read verbatim from MoD, to the point that the localization lifted from Atlus' own; several others sadly never enter Zan's script. IMO, it flat-out *nailed* the tale's final scene and exchange, to its credit! Ultimately, therefore, it serves as a busier, briefer revisit through Haku's brush with wild stuff. I ardently recommend Mask of Deception itself for the proper Uta narrative, no question. Turn to Zan for a refresher course w/ smackin' t'do. Almost all of the 2D artwork adequately translated into 3D models; moreover and more pleasingly, pretty much every single unique pose and facial expression made the same transition! Atuy and Nosuri look as chipper as ever in polygonal format, and Haku looks TALL - like, the VNs understate height differences, dang. Kinda nifty factoid, to me. On the flip side, the models which /do/ look off disappointed me fast, and one praiseworthy girl (who doesn't know how to do anything, but leave it to her! - 12 points for the sequel) received not even one measly second of screentime. A drawback, that. I like the design element to field a squadron of four into maps; it helps avert the tug of neglect. Plus, that way, one can hot-swap to more suitable candidates for new objectives mid-mission, or can prepare a well-mixed squad in advance to tackle the taller challenges - of which I must say, two bosses in particular can MOVE & therefore spurred me to re-shuffle my approach in order to triumph over them. They stood as the largest obstacles to 100% completion and, ultimately, the platinum trophy. Not a vast grind but *oh* so painful recycling in more than a few spots, oof. Tamsoft knows what they are doing w/ hacks and slashes by now, as we know they do what they do with a thin budget. Bring healers unless you live mega-dangerously~ The remixed synthesized soundtrack now sounds straight out of 6th-gen in composition and tone, chiefly, from that era of Capcom (Mega Man X: Command Mission leaped rapidly to mind) and Sega (Sonic Heroes, at least in its synth-ier tracks). It isn't noteworthy or terrific, per se, much like the game itself, but it certainly yanked me back to 2005 or so, a time trip I did *not* expect. It could've used real improvement, as could've the largely unsatisfying audio SFX all-throughout. I did miss the crunchy guitarwork of SK: Estival Versus, as ever. As you might surmise, Zan isn't remarkable or top-shelf quality. It is a palate cleanser or a side gig. Plenty of B/C-grade J-games have satisfied me across the decades, however, and I can vouch for this unusual scallywag for the Uta pack and the Tamsoft pack, a likely compatible and even highly mutual Venn diagram of players, bearing in mind that it is a B/C-grade item. I earned this platinum #41 as my 3,000th PSN trophy, whereas my 2,000th arrived in concurrence back with platinum #20, meaning across 2019 I more than doubled my platy-pace a tad. It wouldn't keep me hauntingly awake at night if I missed milestones, but I don't mind a small effort to spruce up a couple of 'em - not vital, but neato, and neato is pretty dang neat. :>

Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#403 - Assassin's Creed Unity This one was something else. What started out to be fairly enjoyable, gradually turned into a frustrating struggle with the piss poor controls. The climbing mechanic is by far the worst out of any AC game. There are still the odd bugs as well, like clipping through the floor and the be stuck in the ground. The collectibles weren't even the worst, you just need to pace yourself instead of doing all in one go over long periods of time. What was mind-numbing were the co-op missions. Most of them dragged on for too long, and then there's one that requires you to parkour and get 34 flags in X amount of time. What would probably be fairly easy in co-op. Doing it solo with the shitty controls is a nightmare. Hated eery single one of those missions. The one thing I enjoyed were the murder mysteries, which weren't required for the plat... The gameplay ended up annoying me so much, that I can't be bothered mopping up the 2 remaining DLC trophies. At least now I got 54GB of extra free space on my HDD. Quick shoutout to @Jarynix for boosting the co-op kills and revives with me. Popular Post madbuk
#338 - LEGO The Incredibles This is one of the better LEGO games I've done. The openworld didn't feel tedious, and the levels were all decent length - not too short like a lot of the Vita ones, or too long like a couple of the console ones. I also really liked that each level had its own miscellaneous trophy to earn for doing unique level-specific tasks, that's something I'd like to see return in future LEGO games. Probably not though since DC didn't have them. The crimewaves were a bit repetitive but other than that I had a lot of fun with this.
Popular Post PooPooBlast
#127 and 100% Marvel's Spider-man A very great spider-man entry and a huge step-up from the Amazing Spider-man that I played on the PS3. Had a decent story and some fun albeit repetitive open world activities (especially with the bajillion crimes out there). Jonah J Jameson's rants were just hilarious at times and he was voiced really well. I looked up his VA and I wasn't surprised to see the man who voiced Ardyn in FFXV. Here was one of my favourite JJJ rants! (sorry it got cut off as I wasn't able to capture the whole thing!) Spoiler The game is not without its faults however as I thought that the game was stupidly easy and the boss fights weren't challenging at all and mainly involved spamming web shooters until they're webbed up and you're ready to strike. I had to go out of my way to make it challenging by mixing up the combat, using different moves and gadgets because you could've easily beat the game with just dodging and pressing square. I also eventually got really bored in my NG+ run so to speed things up, I started spamming gadget attacks and barely engaged in combat. I made a build that regenerated focus with gadget use and web attacks and regained extra gadgets use with every takedown so yea I was op... lol. It was pretty much spamming the web bomb with concussive blast over and over. Also, the game looked gorgeous on my TV and I took a couple of screenshots. I tried to avoid spoilers so here you go! I loved the Amazing Spider-man suit and by far it was my favourite suit. Enjoy! Spoiler Finally, I had a couple of glitches which I captured so here you go Spoiler All in all I was satisfied but I could've done without the NG+ run.
