Popular Post starcrunch061
Plat #359: Riddled Corpses EX (PS4) Hardcore Gamer Unlock all trophies in Riddled Corpses EX A good game. Solid from beginning to end. There is a lot of repetition, but the twin-stick shooter mechanic is so fun that you hardly notice. Further, character progression really adds to the experience. There are both survival modes and arcade modes as well, and even a (brutal) NG+, once you finish arcade mode. The story is funny, and really captures the old 8-bit feel. After platting this, I immediately went and bought the developer's other game on sale, Xenon Valkyrie (that game, BTW, is a LOT harder). The plat was 9 hours for me, so for the peanuts for which I purchased this ($1.99 at the current sale), it is a no-brainer. Popular Post SirShavesALot
Plat #129 - Resident Evil 2 Raccoon City Native Obtain all trophies Difficulty - 5/10 Playtime - 20-25 hours Enjoyment - 9/10 What an amazing game from start to finish. THIS is how you do a remake of a classic. The updated and refined controls, the amazing visuals, Mr. X is all his creepy glory, the attention to detail, the music, the list just goes on. Every run was fun and challenging and then you have 4th Survivor. I think the last time I was gripping my controller that tightly was with Ethan Must Die in RE7 and Insane on Outlast. CAPCOM really did a fantastic job of bringing a classic game to a modern audience. If you are fan of survival horror or just want to play a great game, definitely give Resident Evil 2 (2019) a try. ??
Popular Post snakebit10
#288 Concrete Genie Ever since Concrete Genie was announced I thought it seemed kind of interesting. Then we went a long period without hearing anything at all until this year. I was able to get it close to release date because of my Birthday and getting a Amazon gift card for my B-day. The first copy I ordered got lost somewhere and I was able to order a replacement copy for no additional cost. Now onto the game itself. As most of you know it deals with the issue of bullying. Ash is the main character and he gets his escape through his sketches and paintings. That it all I'll say without spoiling anything. The game can get you in the feels. It is a touchy subject to deal with. Gameplay wise everything was smooth. It is open world for the most part, albeit short. I just wish it was promoted more by Sony, I really feel like this is a good game.

Popular Post StraightVege
Hero of the PeopleCongratulations! You obtained all of the trophies. #216 - Fallen Legion: Flames of Rebellion (Ultra Rare: 1.66%) This PS Plus title has been sitting on my HD since January, and I wasn't quite sure what to make of it at first. It's stylistically similar to a JRPG, but gameplay is heavily focused on side-scrolling combat, with mechanics that are somewhat reminiscent of a rhythm game. I've heard it has some commonalities with Valkyrie Profile, but I've never played that. Each of the four face buttons is assigned to a member of your party, and will make them attack if they have available action points. To begin with, this seems to encourage button mashing, but I later recognized some depth that wasn't immediately apparent: depending on when a character strikes, you can trigger various special attacks, interrupt enemy moves, crash harmlessly against their guard, or leave your characters vulnerable. It's also good to balance AP use among characters, or you'll be left standing there without actions to take, so constantly attacking isn't always prudent. Timing blocks and parries with L1 is a vital aspect for survival during some encounters, too, such as versus certain bosses. Eventually, I was hitting 100 combo streaks, and enjoying myself a lot more than I was in the beginning. The depth and enjoyment wore thin quickly, however—the game is primarily a series of seemingly endless, painfully repetitive battles. Once stronger characters and abilities were acquired, I was usually powerful enough to mindlessly mash my way to victory again, and I WANTED to, just to get it all over with. Definitely not the attitude you want to foster in players. It's unfortunate, because if the fights were more varied, better balanced, and were broken up by other types of gameplay, Fallen Legion would have been a far more engaging experience. In-between conflicts, the player is forced to make many decisions regarding their military campaign and political career, which leads to different rewards and branching story paths. This is done by choosing one of 3 cards under time pressure, with very vague outcomes depicted on them, such as "Bargain." I rarely had much of an idea as to the consequences of each choice, and found this system to be poorly designed. At least three playthroughs are required to accomplish everything. The few interspersed story scenes were not to my taste, either: they're pretty anime-esque, laden with incomprehensible jargon about historical figures from the game's lore, and the one voiced character sounds like a teen who thinks he's deep. Oh, and there's an evil, talking book for some reason. It seems like they expected you to be familiar with the series already, but I didn't give a damn about any of this. I wouldn't say Flames of Rebellion is a particularly good game by any stretch, but it was certainly different from what I normally play. The unique combat has the potential to be brilliant, although I still prefer a more traditional turned-based approach. Even as a big fan of the series since childhood—I played the first one in an arcade, and Splatterhouse 2-3 on the Genesis gave me nightmares—I can still see why this 2010 reboot got a mixed reception. Let's get the negatives out of the way: -It runs like absolute crap. Frame rate issues and hitching abound; load times are frequent and lengthy. Some bugs, too. -The combat camera belongs in a previous generation. -Gameplay is pretty mindless—the player mostly moves between rooms, killing a small variety of enemies with repetitive execution animations, while solving a few simplistic puzzles. These "puzzles" usually consist of impaling a certain number of enemies on spikes, or matching a hidden glyph to a switch. -Cheap deaths! Some enemy types can tear you apart in an instant. -The few platforming sections are an exercise in trial and error frustration. You either enter the correct inputs, or you die and sit through another loading screen. Reminds one of playing Dragon's Lair. -When the game attempts to imitate the original titles with side-scrolling sections, it kind of fails, since they control so clumsily. Everything staggers Rick, and the movement isn't well-suited for precision. -The game tries extremely hard to be edgy, and the classless sense of humor probably won't appeal to anyone over the age of 16. My teenage self likely would've gotten a kick out of collecting half-naked pictures of a fictional person (the player character's girlfriend), but 30-something me just feels like a creepy goofball. Sounds bad, eh? Well, with that said, this game was nevertheless a total blast to play, and easily one of my favorite platinums this year! It's like an interactive Evil Dead film, and I never got bored of tearing through monsters with the serviceable combat system, which is akin to other spectacle brawlers like the original God of War trilogy. Rick's gradually expanding arsenal of moves is easy to use, and makes you feel satisfyingly powerful, literally covering the screen with blood in the process. A few of the abilities are too good, and can trivialize the game, but I think that's fine in the context of a power fantasy; the "Brutal" difficulty setting still offers a decent challenge in some sections. The action is almost constant, and backed by a pulse-pounding metal soundtrack, so you rarely have time to think about how brainless it all is (a good thing in this case). Rick's character model even shows visual physical damage as you get hit, which is healed by absorbing the game's XP, blood. It's a great touch, and provides another indicator of when you're in trouble. Your arm got lopped off? Pick it up to use as a club! Or return the favor, by ripping off a creature's head and throwing it at them, if you prefer. Gotta love it. Outside combat, I really enjoyed the use of creative camera angles. They're reminiscent of Silent Hill, and foster a creepy atmosphere. There's fantastic voice acting here, too. I may not like Jim Cummings as a person, but his performance for the wicked Terror Mask latched onto Rick's face is outstanding, and one of the highlights of the experience. He actually needed more lines, since many of them repeat too much in battles. Meanwhile, Richard Doyle puts on an acting clinic as Dr. West, most of which is relegated to an optional menu of his collected journals - a shame, since most players probably won't bother to hear it. Finally, the most important reason to own this game: it includes perfect versions of all 3 classic Splatterhouse titles on the disc - sweet! This flawed reboot won't appeal to every fan, but I thought it was significantly better than the overall critical response lead me to expect. I figured there was no chance of ever seeing another Splatterhouse game, but was very happy to learn that Namco recently trademarked "Encore" remastered editions of the series. Can't wait! Popular Post SoapMacTavish222
#343 Wolfenstein Youngblood for PS4 I have mixed feelings about this game. On the one hand I love the Wolfenstein series. I enjoyed the game itself, was definitely worth the $30 I paid for it. But from a trophy stand point the end game grind was a little much. The campaign and all collectibles can be completed in roughly 10-15 hours depending on how much you're making a go at it. But afterwards you will need to reach level 10 with every single gun so it has you replaying the missions over and over till you finish that. Then you also need to purchase every single weapon upgrade and every skill point. If you're looking for a FPS that has co op (not couch co op) then it's a solid game. But if you're going for platinum I have a few tips for you. #1 pick up every single coin you find, to get all the upgrades you need over 100,000. #2 For weapon grinding try to knock out the hammer weapons as quickly as possible. The spawn rate for them in the large crates is random on which weapon you get. So just use them as often as you can. #3 For the coins, the coin boxes respawn every 24 hours. I recommend doing a run through and gathering all the coins and then manually changing the date on your ps4 because it will cause the game to respawn the coin boxes. You will still have to collect them but once you know where they're at it goes a lot quicker than just waiting every single day for them to refresh. That's all I got.
Popular Post madbuk
#343 - Batman: Arkham City I had already done this game on PS3, and was a little hesitant to stack it as I remember not liking it as much as Knight/Asylum, and the DLC trophies were a pain. Since the PS4 Arkham remasters come as a bundle though, I figured I'd do it anyway since I owned it after buying Return to Arkham to replay Asylum. I'm glad I did, as this was more fun than I remember it being, but I still feel that it's the weakest of the three. None of the sidequests are particularly interesting, honestly. Zsaz's phonecalls had some nice backstory expositions, but other than that they all felt rather generic other than Mad Hatter's which only lasts a few minutes anyway. The open world is also annoying, as it is shaped like a U so it's tedious to go from one end of the U to the other whereas in Knight you could just freely roam wherever. The story didn't feel as well paced as Asylum because of all the sidequests it continues to throw at you. The riddler stuff was also heavily overdone, did there really need to be 400 trophies? 440 if you want to count the extra 40 added via DLC. Despite my grievances with this game though, the combat is as fun as it is in the other games and predator encounters are also still as engaging as usual. The ranked maps weren't quite as annoying as I remember them being as Batman, so I hope they're not as bad as I remember them being with the DLC characters. The combat ranked maps in particular are actually a lot of fun.

Popular Post ZoutjeNL
Platinum #13 The Last of Us Remastered Enjoyment: 8 Difficulty: 5 I did not play TLOU before on the ps3. I always knew people loved this game to death, how was my experience with this game? With this game being free with PS+ I figured it was the perfect time to jump in! (Sorry sealed copy you will stay sealed for now). The story of this game is where it shines, altough cliche at times I loved how the story developed. In total I did 3 playthroughs, one on hard one on easy with the collectibles plus conversations and the last on grounded+. The first playthrough was the most enjoyable going in completely blind made it a great experience. The grounded playthrough was overall pretty doable with the exception of one section that I was stuck on for quite a while. The financial plaza. I kept dieing and the more I died, the more unpatient I got. I also completed the little added DLC it was pretty short and sweet. Why did I only give it an 8 and not a 10? Well the MP altough fun at first was a bit too long for me in the end. Thanks to my wonderfull buddy @KaiserVendrix for carrying this noob through all the games. Together it made the right so much better. This is the most special plat as we got it at the same time! Overall an enjoyable experience, especially the first blind playthrough. I guess everyone played it at this point I am part of the club now!
Popular Post KaiserVendrix
Got a double Plat today! Plat #31 - The Last of Us Remastered Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 5/10 I'll first give a little thank you to @ZoutjeNL for making the multiplayer a little more enjoyable with him helpful motivation and positive attitude while we got owned most of the time Nah, we worked as a good team a lot of the time and it was a blast making this Plat pop together! I'll be honest though, this isn't my first time getting this Plat as I've done it on a few accounts in the past, but the game still holds a place in my heart to this day. I don't really need to say it, but go play this game if you haven't as it will hit you in the feels. Plat #32 - Dark Souls 2 (PS3) Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Bloody hell I love Dark Souls 2! It's my favourite in the series and it's always amazing replaying it, making this new account gave me that chance. To be fair though, I only played the PS4 version in the past and this time around I went with the PS3 version to see how much the original had to offer. Now I normally don't double dip my Plats but maybe further down the line I'll pop in the PS4 and do it all again! Popular Post Zach
#148 (PS3) and #149 (Vita) Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 3.5/10 Time: 30hrs Not a bad title at all for a non-Sucker Punch Sly game. Don't get me wrong, it's still my least favorite Sly game, but I still enjoyed my time with it. Favorite time period (visually)? Ancient Japan, of course. Favorite ancestor? Tie between Tennessee "Kid" Cooper and Sir Galleth Cooper. Both made me laugh a few times. Favorite time period missions? Tie between Ancient England and the Wild West time periods. Favorite bosses? El Jefe and Grizz. Least favorite boss? Le Paradox, the final boss himself. It's just a QTE fight scene. WHICH IS DUMB. Dislikes? The weird character designs if I'm going to be honest. Really weird having Carmelita sexualized considering we grew up with her character. I also miss Sly's more cartoon design. I mean his more raccoon features are cool and all, but something is near perfect with his cartoon design. To finish this off, I have to say the graphics are pretty damn good in this game. They still hold up today! Sly games ranked favorite to least favorite: 1) Sly 2: Band of Thieves 2) Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus 3) Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves 4) Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Popular Post Paulie1313
# 113 BATTLEFIELD V World War Two HeroCollect all other Battlefield™ V Trophies Difficulty - 5/10 Enjoyment - 7.5/10 Overall a decent game, MP is frustrating at times and Death From Above was a royal pain. I might be in the minority here, but after reading and hearing the backlash from the War Stories, I actually enjoyed it. A little far fetched with a different agenda? Yeah, I can see that, but apart from character selection, the stories are done quite well. Only did the Hardcore run, but I think I'm going to run through on an easier difficulty and enjoy it instead of stealthing most of the missions. Not a MUST play by any means, but a decent addition to the franchise.
Popular Post flashpool23
#121 - Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion I assume this plat makes me a part of the Pirates of the Enchiridion and I certainly don't mind that. Honestly, this is now one of my favorite tv show related games out there (not that there are many I think). The gameplay is turn based which I always welcome and the graphics are charming as is the dialogue and the story. The map is a good size for what's normally a kid game but that just made the traveling fun. I knew nothing going in about Adventure Time but I may just give it a watch now that I've played this. #122 - Black Mirror With Every trophy accomplished, I'm done with this short adventure. At moments it looked good, while at others it didn't. The subtitles didn't match the audio at parts which I found amusing but it didn't take away from a story that kept my interest....for the most part. I thought the buildup was good, but near the end it became somewhat predictable and too out there that it kinda let me down. I thought the ending was fine though and I would say to play this if going for a short plat as it's at least a good time.
Popular Post StewartBros
# 145 TOMB RAIDER: DEFINITIVE EDITION True Survivor Unlock every Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition trophy Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 I played this when it first came out back on PS3, and really enjoyed it. It was such a dark and brutal reimagining of the Tomb Raider story, completely unlike anything the series had done before, and it was a thrilling experience to play through. Well, the story mode was, at least. The multiplayer..... not so much. ? So I really didn't need any encouragement to buy it again for PS4 and replay it in preparation for Rise and Shadow. I'm eternally grateful that the Shopaholic trophy was downgraded so that the General character is no longer required, as it meant that I didn't have to grind to level 60 FOUR times over - like I did on PS3! To put it mildly, I was not amused when that trophy was updated after I'd already spent dozens of hours lugging health kits around the assorted maps! Anyway, I'm happy to have played this again, and will look at starting Rise of the Tomb Raider before too long.

Popular Post EcoShifter
(PS4) Consummate Storm Master You won all trophies. Absent or short text doesn't equate to little enjoyment or bad quality, but one thing I will say is (this game is still good and) the trophy development team are simply assholes for actually having the audacity to add an intentionally, brand new, time consuming trophy for this remaster: "Thanks for all your time!"—play Adventure Mode for 30hrs. Was so damn unnecessary to do that (non-existent in the original PS3 version), especially given this remaster isn't special enough generally and even moreso within the adventure mode to even remotely justify tasking players to play it for 30hrs if they managed to do everything else necessary for plat prior. Popular Post Zircon_Lotus
Platinum #74 Batman: Return to Arkham Asylum ☢️THIS IS NOT A BUTTON MASHING GAME!!!☢️ I'm not a fan of superheroes, but there are two that I like a little: Spider Man and this "new", darker version of Batman. Some months ago I got the plat for Spiderman, and the experience was fun, so when I knew that Batman Arkham Knight would be free on the PS Plus, I decided to buy the remaster when on sale to begin the trilogy at some point. Recently they put it on sale (smart move, Sony) and I picked it up, deciding it would be my next plat, one that would be short and easy, but I was wrong. The story is pretty predictable. The game starts with Joker being transferred to Arkham Asylum. During the operation, we discover that everything is part of Joker master plan to take the island with his army of henchman, some of them famous villains from Batman world, and your mission is to save everyone and stop Joker, whose ultimate goal is to destroy Gotham. This isnt a open world game, so you dont have freedom of choice to the order you will tackle the villains or the buildings you have access to. For the most part of the game, you will be locked of several areas, because you dont have all the gadgets necessary from the start. This isnt a open world adventure, but a classical one where you fight several enimes at once, advance through the areas, do puzzles (in this case, stealth secttions), fight bosses, acquire gadgets that expand what you can do, all the while progressing the story. I dont know much about the Batman universe, but was interesting trying to guess Joker next step on his master plan while battling hordes and more hordes of henchman. Now, the gameplay. We can split this section in two: combat and stealth. I have played several adventure games, but I think I never played one with a system like this. With square Batman will do a melee attack (punchs and kicks), with triangle you counter an attack, with circle you stun the enemies with your cape, and double tapping X and using the left stick you dodge. When you reach a certain combo count, you can perform a special attack, consisting of a takedown, immediately defeating the enemy or a throw. You can use the batclaw and the batarang, but they arent available from the start, and you can knockdown downed enemies with R2+Triangle. When you master this system, the result are fights that are fluid, fast paced and beautiful to the eyes. If they used some special effects, I would feel like reading the comics. Even if the game is 10 yo, I didnt feel like the combat was outdated. And now, I would like you to kindly reread my warning: this is not a button mashing game, and I cant stress this enough. If you want this platinum, you need to know how to fight like Batman. How is the personality of our hero? Super smart and cold. Can you picture Batman furiously mashing a controller randomly? No? Well, so dont picture yourself like this either. When fighting, any action that dont result in a hit makes you lose your combo. If the game didnt have 5 trophies relating to combos, and if this game didnt have combat challenges (the hardest I came across until now from any game), this would be meaningless, but since they exist, you will do yourself a favor mastering it while you play the story, so you have an easier time with the challenges. Not only practice not button mashing, but also using you gadgets and special moves smartly, because using all the moves gives you bonus that are fundamental to achieve the high scores. The stealth parts are very similar to Spider Man. You can use your gadgets to get the attention of the henchman or to defeat them in a subtle way. You have an X-Ray vision to follow their movements when they're normally obscured by walls or other objects. This part also have associated challenges, but they are far easier than their combats counterparts, and Youtube has several useful videos teaching how to tackle them. About the trophies, we can divide them in 4 sections. The first, the story ones, that are all unmissables, with the exception of two: one at the very beginning, and the other at the very end of the game. Refer to the guide and you will be okay. The second, miscellaneous trophies, the majority being combos and other simple tasks. The combo trophies may look daunting at first, but if you practice from the start as I advised, you will do perfect combos and 40-hit + combos left and right without batting an eye. The third being the challenges, and the 4th the 240 riddles. The villain Riddler challenge Batman to a battle of wits, and all the areas have some riddles for you to complete. Contrary to the name, not all of them are literal riddles. The riddles consist of voice tapes, Riddler trophies, Spirit of Arkham messages, destroying Joker babbling mouths, treasure maps (that reveal the location of all the riddles on the map) and riddles. I'm not lying, from all the 240 riddles, I did only need help finding 3, all of them a special kind of riddle that is difficult to solve. If you played games like this before, you will have the habit of searching every corner of an area for collectibles, and they're not hard to find. When you enter a map with a riddle to solve, look for things that are out of place, or for things that are on the description. Usually the treasure maps are on the last parts of the areas, and with them finding everything is very easy. In the end, I did like my experience with Batman Arkham Asylum, and if you like this kind of game, I advise you to play. The combat is very fun and addictive after you master it, and there are plenty of things to look out for on the areas. But if you plan to plat, dont underestime the game like I did, and tackle him serious, because you can have a hard time with the combat related trophies. I must confess, during some of the combat challenges I thought about going to an asylum after this.
Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
Platinum trophy No. 141! htoL#NiQ -The Firefly Diary- Platinium trophy Well, a puzzle game with a gothic-horror story which you can understand only when you pick the collectibles (the "memories") scattered through the levels. If I understood correctly, there's a daughter dead by some kind of accident, and then their parents tried to create clones of her. But probably her parents were killed (by a clone?) and became the two fireflies, and in the true ending there's also the fight for the same body between the clone and the daughter's soul. And this part is similar to the fight between the Gestalt and the Replicant in Nier, which I really liked! The first two chapters were fun (except the Concentration trophy, where you need to go through the maze in a single run with no deaths. Unfortunately, you need to replay the first part of the level, which lasts over 5 minutes, dodging saws with a conveyor belt. Not really a fun experience... ). Then, chapter 3 and 4 became really frustrating: a flying level where you have inverted controls due to a smoking mushroom (actually you can't control directly the little girl Mion, but you move the firefly and Mion follows her and she stops when she reaches it. But in this stage you need to move the firefly in the opposite direction, and you have also a flying Mion which is really annoying to move...) and a lot of saws to dodge with these controls... Then you have a labyrinth full of doors (where I got lost) and a second maze longer and harder than the first (with a hidden switch to activate with Mion, otherwise you need to do again this section!). And finally a final boss which is pure garbage: two challenges repeated over and over again with a super fast shadow (and you have to pick the right one among four) and shuffling cards (and again, you need to pick the right one among three). Easy? No, the speed increases in a ridiculous way, so you can't find the right answer (unless you record it with your phone and replay the short video, watching carefully every single frame). Seriously, with these light speed cards I thought "what the hell is this?! How am I supposed to find the right one?". Because I forgot one thing: there's a trophy where you need to find the right answer for the entire boss battle, otherwise you need to restart the "battle". And when you discover you missed the record button and you have no video for finding the right answer... And of course I gave the wrong answer! [Huge censorship] and restart from the beginning! In the end I really liked the story and the atmosphere, but some levels required a lot of patience. Luckily, the next games made by the same developers (A Rose in the Twilight and The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince) have better gameplay (especially Rose) and all of them have the same trophy related to the moon! And finally the platinum screenshot with the title screen! One last note: you can move the two fireflies with the touch screen or the left stick. But I really didn't like the touch screen, so I always used the stick, also for the Concentration trophy! By the way, I still need to complete the 100 hours trophy for Trails of Cold Steel...
