Recently they put it on sale (smart move, Sony) and I picked it up, deciding it would be my next plat, one that would be short and easy, but I was wrong. If the combat from Arkham was as fluid as Spider-Man's, the challenges would easy as hell. The combat on Spider-Man was so fun, that I wish there were combat challenge trophies on there (aside from Taskmaster). Hopefully, Rocksteady can step it up with Arkham Legacy. Popular Post Dauersack
Jurasssic World Evolution #36: "Jurassic World Evolution Platinum" I like building shit, organizing shit, managing shit, even optimizing systems that I build, I am also a sucker for everything Dinosaur related so buying this game at some point seemed like a no brainer. Reviews on it were mixed, some compared it to Operation Genesis, which was a very nice game, others compared it to Zoo Tycon, which was also a nice game. The truth is somewhere in between, it has elements from both games but lacks the depth both of these games had, it also misses some valuable features both these ancient games had back in their day. The game looks great and has the Jurassic Park atmosphere down somewhat when you just lean back and listen to the huge dinosaurs you created, watching them interact with the environment and other dinosaurs, unfortunately you will not have much time for that because the game keeps harrassing you to do shit that should have been automated. You got to change the parks feeders manually, either by driving there or by assigning your rangers, every few minutes you have to order them to refill them one by one, you have to get rid of dead dinosaurs yourself too, you have to order rangers to give them medication or tranq them, nothing is automated and it sucks because it stops you from what you actually wanna do, the game punishes you for using dinosaur traits because it increases the chances of them dying and costing you a lot of money for nothing, not that money is ever a problem though. The park building in itself is weak as well, it is very amateurish because it is way too easy, basically impossible to fail no matter what you do, making all the tiny management adjustments you can do pretty much useless because you drown in money anyway even if you don't build half of the games buildings. Getting dinosaurs happy is piss easy too, their basic needs are so low that no thought is required for their enclosures other than the pairings you put in. Space is also rather limited so you don't get to build a massive park that contains most of the dinosaurs, you are best off genetically modifying 6-8 species, throw them together in 3-4 enclosures and get your 5 star rating. Basically it does not matter whether you are putting thought into the game, you will succeed no matter what, good management does not get rewarded. Difficulties you can face are mostly outside of your control, like small dinos getting pissed during a tropical storm and headbutting a hole in your massive steel fence with 2-3 attacks, or like a massive fuck off tornado opening your fence and unleashing all your dinosaurs upon the people, which has no consequences other than losing a bit of money thanks to lawsuits, but you are filthy rich anyway. Another annoyance is the 3 teams you are doing missions for, they will keep harrassing you with sometimes nonsensical contracts and other shit, and get easily pissed when they feel you paid the other team more attention, regularly sabotaging your power supply or opening your gates so people get killed, but you still can't fire or kill that annoying security twat despite him casually killing people and making you clean up the mess. Whenever you are not manually refilling stuff that should be automated once or dealing with random annoyances, you have to send the digging teams to the same few digging stations over and over again and manually extract stuff from fossils, also selling the worthless crap you dig out. Building new stuff gets interrupted by something several times, taking you out of what you are trying to do for some minor crap. Is it still fun? Kinda, if you figure out how to minimize the annoying parts it is enjoyable at times, but it is as deep as a puddle so it simply does not live up to other games like this. Modifying your own dinosaurs, changing their colors and traits, unleashing degenerate hybrids like the Indoraptor, watching dinosaurs fight against each other and manually flying the helicoptor to take out a dinosaur that escaped is fun. The characters talking to you want to provide some comedy relief, and it works at a few points despite characters like Ian Malcolm that are hard to endure doing the most work here. The game had a lot of potential, but ultimately is quite underwhelming because most things are useless, you have like 40 types of dinosaurs but won't ever need more than a few, their ratings make no sense either, obscure ones I never heard of are higher rated than classics like Velociraptors, park stats arbitrarily jump to the point that a valid strategy to go from 4 to 5 stars was to close the park but 5 minutes and letting them back in, giving you an easy 5 stars for a while and therefore bypassing any further planning you would have to do otherwise. Building mechanic is also very annoying, the road and rail system is infuriating at times, as is the fence building. Trophy list was very easy once you knew how to get through the game quickly, missions were pretty stupid though no matter how you look at it. The most fun is just unleashing a great number of dinosaurs on a map without a park at all, put some feeders down and watch the ecosystem you created develop and the dinosaurs battling over the scarce ressources you provided for them, the game even encourages dino fight clubs because your dinosaurs get rating boosts for killing shit, they even have statistics for that, but it will not keep someone entertained for too long. The game has very short and expensive dlc I will not bother with as well as some nasty looking dlc challenges, miss me with that shit. I can recommend this game for very cheap if you are a dinosaur enthusiast who just wants to look at them and interact with each other, but as a park simulator or strategy game is is very underwhelming. I look forward to playing something more challenging next, feeling like I am getting participation awards after the 4th easy game in a row now, time to punish myself a bit with Nioh.

Popular Post Xeroknight67
#30 - Cyberdimension Neptunia 4 Goddesses Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 4/10 My Rating: 5/10 I bought this game years ago because I was curious and was looking for more RPG games. It sat in my backlog for years and I finally played it. Ill be honest, I didn't really pay attention to the story at all. If you've played a JRPG before you probably know the story. It takes place in an MMO-type setting and there's an Evil villain threatens the world but through the power of FRIENDSHIP- blah blah blah. I had fun with the game and it was nice to just play something I didn't have to pay a lot of attention too.

Popular Post ZoutjeNL
Platinum #14 Resogun (and 100%) Enjoyment: 8 Difficulty: 8 In my opinion playing different genres is a great thing to do. I always wanted to play a great shoot 'em up. Resogun always peeked my interest whenever I saw gameplay. So what was my experience? Resogun seemed really hard at first. I was struggling on the experience difficulty, however the more I played the better I got. Mastering the boosting mechanique really helped. It is essential for getting better at the game. Because of this I usually used a ship with a 10 stat in Boost, 5 agility and zero overdrive. The 3 weapons you can us each have their pros and cons. For myself I usually used the Phebos for the best firepower with Nemesis being a close second. Overall the platinum (base game) trophy list is pretty easy. With 1CC being the hardest trophy. If I solely had to rate the base game I would give it a 6 in difficulty. Where the challenge comes in is the DLC. The different DLC all add some very fun but also challenging content. The first DLC adds the ability to share, create and customize your own ships including some pretty challenging trophies. I loved all the creations people have made. For the majority of the game I was rocking some very cool looking ships with the stats to my liking. The Heroes DLC added two modes, demolition and survival. Demolition is probably my least favourite mode of all the DLC. On the bright side the trophies did not take long at all. Surival on the other hand might be my favourite mode. You have to pick up humans and destroy incoming attackers to progress days. Live to die another day was the most difficult trophy out of the bunch but still fairly easy as with the power shield you get a maxed ship in terms of stats which makes it really good. The 3th DLC is called Challengers and I definitely spend the most time on this DLC. This DLC added feats to obtain while playing any mode. For the trophy you require to complete 100 of them in total. Because you obtain the majority of these automatically I did not focus on some specific ones untill I got close to the 100 mark. The other thing it added were challenges (quite obvious looking at the name of the DLC). You require to earn 10 gold medals throughout all of these. You can obtain bronze, silver and gold medals and each score rewards a different amount of CP where you level up with. Each level up requires more and for one trophy you require to hit level 50. I grinded from 30-50 with the help of an awesome friend but more on that on the last section. The 4th and final DLC added the most difficult trophy in the game and two new modes. The first mode is called protector mode where you need to kill 10 protectors for the most difficult trophy to help the poor civilians. The last and final mode called commando mode, I prefer to call it the Arnold schwarzenegger mode. In this mode you are on the ground where you can jump, dash and shoot. For the hardest trophy in the game you need to complete Commando mode (20 waves) I found this very challenging to do but luckily a very nice special @MrGarland helped me to complete this mode. I am very grateful for his help during the last few trophies so thanks again! Overall I highly recommend this game. It was a blast to play and if you are only aiming for the platinum the game is not very difficult. If you are like me a completionist who strives for 100% prepare for some difficult trophies and a bit of grind which will require assistant of another player.

Popular Post Angel
Super Neptunia RPG I was super (pun?) excited to start playing Super Neptunia RPG when I finally got my copy only to be found with disappointment. I enjoyed the story; Neptune is hilarious as always, and the new 2D art direction but it all felt too flat (pun? lol I'm sorry) in gameplay. Neptune felt stiff and a bit unresponsive when using her in the world environment stages, especially when jumping, I had moments when the quest markers would disappear and had to reload, most of the HDN cast is not available or playable (I missed Nepgear). The battle gameplay was far too repetitive and easy that most of my battles were just spamming elemental weakness and holding the fast forward button, this includes the boss battles. Overall the game feels unfinished and would have loved to see it get more fleshed as this was an interesting approach to the HDN series. Platinum wise - It was easy, one playthrough and straightforward trophy list with only 3 missable trophies to worry about, tied to events. Best wishes on your next platinum and thank you for your time.

Popular Post Kishnabe
Platinum #365: New Gundam Breaker (PS4) Platinum got me to Level 65 as well. Don't think deserves the massive dislikes it got. I have heard it was because they changed the gameplay and had many pallette swaps. I felt it was worth the price I paid. For 10-20 dollars, it absolute recommend. First time playing Gundam Breaker, would pounce when I see GE 3 Break Edition get to my sweep spot (80% off, so far it been 60% off) This is Namco first localized Gundam Breaker game, hopefully they would not cast out the west due to the sales on this. Sure, it has some bugs still, but the engaging story and rich environment more than makes up for it. It's one of those games that keeps you on your toes most of the time. Popular Post StraightVege
The Count LucanorYou are the new count. #218 - The Count Lucanor I usually like to share my detailed thoughts on games, but I'm a bit too irritated with this one to bother writing much—it crashed over and over, causing save corruption! Even exiting the game resulted in an immediate crash and corrupt. What an incompetent port! I should probably stop buying 2D horror titles on impulse, just because I loved Lone Survivor. I will say it's impressive that this game went the route of psychological horror, rather than cheap jump scares. Don't let the cutesy appearance fool you: Lucanor goes out of its way to unsettle the player, featuring some pretty dark subject matter, and good use of sound design. Although tonally inconsistent at times, it usually works, and feels quite like being inside a fever dream. There's a large variety of different puzzle solutions, hidden stuff, and multiple endings, too. Who had the bright idea of putting interaction and candles on the same button, though? You can set candles on the floor for illumination, so I was often doing this by mistake when trying to pick something up, or open a door. The dialogue is poorly written, as well: why is a child in the medieval period using modern slang? Why does his mother seem completely unconcerned about him running away from home? Sort of takes you out of it. Without the technical issues, The Count Lucanor would be a decent indie horror game, but I can't recommend this version. Get it on Steam or something. It's still the same well-designed, challenging shooter I remember spending hours with in childhood, and which contributed to my later interest in shmups. I'll never forget the music, or my aggravation when trying in vain to hit that last elusive enemy! It's simple by today's standards, but deceptively tough—those dive-bombing fighters will really frustrate you in later stages! In Galaga, a player can't just hold down the shoot button and expect the best results; since only two of their shots can exist on-screen at once, timing and aim do matter, especially if they intend to destroy every last serpentine formation of enemies in the bonus stages. There's an interesting risk/reward mechanic, too: you can intentionally allow an enemy leader to capture one of your ships, then retake it by destroying them. The extricated vessel will attach itself to your current craft, effectively doubling your firepower! It's important to take advantage of this feature as the game's difficulty ramps up, but use caution - if your shot hits the stolen ship instead of the enemy, you've sacrificed a life for nothing. Without save states, this would actually be a pretty rough platinum. I was never particularly great at the game, but always enjoy it nonetheless. Spoiler https://scontent-lax3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/75328770_1221107801406860_5896442368818675712_o.jpg?_nc_cat=100&_nc_oc=AQn6RW4beKMkMMXdSM3qJv2_ESv_OQre5F2muNP97QI1PV9fN8v-wsTwGEVDV6aPEt8&_nc_ht=scontent-lax3-1.xx&oh=53a616820fc402e56686afb5ea626e86&oe=5E55DC2E PLATINUM VOYAGERCollect all trophies #220 - Elea (6th Fastest Achiever, in 3 hours & 21 minutes) A brief first-person puzzler/walking simulator that explores some interesting sci-fi themes, but is ruined by extremely questionable design, and inconsistent voice acting. The titular main character, Elea, seems to have undergone an experimental procedure to block certain memories, so the developers use this premise as an excuse to thoroughly barrage your eyes with trippy imagery—it's almost like they were TRYING to trigger seizures in people. Her movement is agonizingly slow (even on the rare occasions when the game allows running), which makes backtracking to solve puzzles a real chore. Chapter 2 is just horrendous: the player is forced to stand in a room for 15 minutes, looking at various occurrences, and just hoping they'll hit the obscure triggers to finally progress the game. Why?! I got a real sense of pretentiousness from it. Fortunately, the next chapter gets back to exploration and puzzle solving. There are noticeably long load times between chapters, too. Elea herself is clearly voiced by a professional, but the surrounding characters mostly sound like amateurs off the street. The difference is kind of jarring. Graphically, the environments look pretty good. The character's faces, though, are hideous. Elea's melting candle wax visage on the title screen is pretty amusing. I actually still think this game is superior to overrated stuff like "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture," but that isn't saying much.
