Popular Post Jounochi
Platinum #146 - Ether One (PS4) This was a game that I initially was only interested in due to the fact everyone complains about the numerous bugs that accompany it. I can say that, while I did not encounter anything game breaking, I did have the game lock up on me twice while trying to load into new areas. Luckily I didn't have to reload any saves, but I did have to wait somewhere between 5~10 minutes both times. The issues I've read about and experienced are surprising since the credits show a couple dozen on the QA team. Overall though, the game ran fine. The story of the game was also mediocre. I don't even know how to explain the game without spoiling it and then going off on a tangent. Gameplay wise I wasn't expecting it to be so puzzle-centric. The main collectibles you need to gather in each area are ribbons and easily found, but there are four or five other collectibles that usually require you to jump through numerous hoops for a payoff that made me glad I decided to look up a guide after the harbor. The locales used though are what made me keep playing. Two in particular, the harbor and the village, were quite fun to explore. If you like exploring small areas and looking at the little details within them, you may enjoy this game to a certain extent. I just can't recommend starting it due to the reported bugs, so start at your own risk. Enjoyment: 5/10 Difficulty: 2/10 (With guide)
Popular Post Ala-Arska
Skylanders SuperChargers (PS4) SuperCharged Earn all other trophies I've been rolling up and down these steps so many times, they should call me the Stairmaster. Whoopie de-doo, Scooby Doo! Stacks aside, all Skylanders games now Platted Superchargers is probably my favorite one of the series. Nonsurprisingly, since it's the (second) newest and most polished one. But also because of addition of vehicles. I like the idea of having matching land, sea and air transportation with key Skylanders. Of course this is just another way of sucking more money out of our flea-ridden wallets. But here, take my month's salary anyway Despite the possible bankruptcy via buying too many figures, I still enjoy playing these colorful adventures. They're non-offensive, NPCs are tolerable, and they offer lots of in-game collectibles and variety. The hardest difficulty setting, Nightmare, even throws a decent challenge at your naive, child-minded face (if having limited lives/figures)! Not nearly as bad as in Trap Team, though. The final boss battle there was genuinely brutal with boss' seemingly infinite health pool I'll definitely gonna get me some stacks at some point, unless a new title appears. Like, now. Ahem, now would be good. No? Well, shit. Skylanders Superchargers is hella fun with billions of different figures to play with. And some of 'em come cheap nowadays, too

Guest
THE ELDER SCROLLS: SKYRIM SPECIAL EDITION By now Skyrim is dated and has become a meme. But it's still a warm masterpiece of fun and detailed gameplay. Rather than having to conform to a linear cinematic, as is the case of many AAA titles today, Skyrim adapts itself to the player. “Play who you are”. There is so much charm to be experienced with how you create your character from appearance, to skills, and to weapons and armor. Then sit back and watch yourself pull off amazing feats of your chosen style in slow motion for the finishing touch. The next installment of the Elder Scrolls has got to be nothing short of spectacular. Especially if Bethesda can learn from their mistakes. I loved it. Had a blast. Looking forward to completing the DLC and to TES:VI.
Popular Post Spinosaurus Rex
PLATINUM #145 - ARCADE GAME SERIES: PAC-MAN Difficulty: 3.5/10 | Platinum enjoyment: 6/10 | Game enjoyment: 5/10 | Plat tier: UNCOMMON While it's one of gaming icons of all time, I never liked Pac-Man. 3 years after Pac-Man (1980) we've been gifted with Super Mario Bros from Nintendo (1983) and I'd not have a dillemma which game I'd prefer to play. The fact that you play over and over on the same map with just increasing speed doesn't scream fun too much. Enemies move unpredictably and while theoretically they're prone to manipulating, there are scenarios where you cannot avoid death. So yeah, it's no doubt another coin draining arcade title, and 2/3 of them is crossed from my list now. One thing that bugs me off: Namco was clearly aware of possibility of save scumming (you won't appear on official leaderboard if you save & quit and reload the game again), so why they didn't include normal savestates which you could reload whenever you'd like? Popular Post DesmaBR
Platinum #110 (And trophy nº 6000) A Flash of Light Mastered Trails of Cold Steel III and earned every trophy. First time going for a thousand trophy milestone, and not gonna lie, that was pretty fun. Very frustrating, but very fun. Glad I can keep this plat on my milestones along the first and second games. Not gonna say much about the game, as I feel anything I say is gonna be a spoiler. But I will say that it's fucking bullshit that they expect you to have seen the secret ending of the second game; There must be some people who only finished the second game once, and they must've felt very confused when they see those characters having those kinds of interactions. Platinum #111 Mark of the Advocate Earned all trophies. Playstation Plus freebie for the month, and yeah that was pretty fun. Certainly helped that it had a lot of trophies, it helped me reach my milestone a lot. The only real problem is the gauntlet trophy, and yeah I can definitely see some people not being able to plat this due to it. Took me 2 hours to get, guess Trackmania Turbo's was a good practice. Otherwise, very easy and fast plat.
Popular Post Undead Wolf
#296 - Titanfall 2 Welcome to the 6-4 Earned all trophies. Man, I haven't bothered downloading a PS+ game in what feels like forever. I've been tempted to buy this game on sale a few times, especially considering how cheap it has been on a few occasions, but I never did pull the trigger on it. So for once, PS+ pulled through and gave me a game I didn't already own and was something that interested me. Hooray! I was pleasantly surprised by this game. I mean I've always heard people give the campaign some high praise, but I didn't know if it would click with me. Well... it did! I mean it's a game where you play as a mecha pilot, so I should have figured. The gameplay was a lot of fun and the story/setting was pretty interesting too, but my absolute favourite thing about this game is BT and the interactions between him and the main character. It was really nice to see them grow more fond of each other over the course of the game. For a robot, BT was better written than most human companions in other games. Some really great moments with him. As for the trophies, I've heard people talk about the one for getting a fast time in the gauntlet for a while. I was expecting it to take me a while to earn considering all of the horror stories I've heard, but it didn't even come close to its reputation. I got it after about 15 minutes of attempts... Not even trying to brag, but I don't see what all the fuss was about. I mean I would just love to think of myself as some sort of FPS God (lol), but the fact that more than 10% of the 190.000 owners of this game on PSNP have the trophy goes to show that's not necessarily true.

The valley of the yeti DLC is really good so far though. Ajay wasn't as good of a protagonist as Jason, he didn't have any sort of character unlike Jason I liked Pagan Min but still just felt like they were trying to recreate the masterpiece that was Vaas Gonna play Far Cry 5 after I 100% FC4 plat wise was really ez

Popular Post ShonenCat
Platinum #46 - Aladdin & The Lion King Difficulty Rating 2/10 Enjoyment Rating 8/10 Common - 64.48% I can only think of a small handful of truly great movie licensed video games amongst all the shovelware out there, and Aladdin on SEGA Genesis (Mega Drive for those in Europe) to this day is a prime example on how to do a movie based game right. Virgin Games, SEGA and Disney Animation Studios all worked closely together on what would become the third best selling Genesis game of all time, also making it the number one best selling Genesis game without Sonic the Hedgehog attached to it. Aladdin on Genesis was a true leap in video game evolution, making it the first video game to use hand drawn animation. Speaking of the animation, it was all done by actual Disney animators before being compressed to sprites. The music also sounded very close to the movie, and that’s a hard feat to pull off with the Yamaha 2612 soundchip found inside the console. Only a master composer like Tommy Tallarico could perform black magic such as that The game was directed by David Perry who founded Shiny Entertainment and would go on to help program Earthworm Jim, making it a spiritual successor to Aladdin in a way. Yes, quite an interesting history behind this game, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg Now that it’s been rereleased for modern consoles, everyone can have fun with this classic game once again! Ooh, and I suppose The Lion King is here too Truth be told, I bought this disc mainly for Aladdin, making The Lion King an added bonus. These were hard games for the time, but this two game collection allows you to rewind gameplay and use save states.. making this platinum journey much easier than it would of been without all those specific bells and whistles. I’ll be completely honest, I didn’t use any of those features when playing Aladdin, but I lost patience with The Lion King rather quickly and ended up rewinding when I got as far as the “Hakuna Matata” level. The Lion King video game certainly hasn’t aged well like Aladdin has, but because you can rewind, the platinum can be obtained by anyone. I would imagine this being a pretty rare completion if there was no rewind, no save states and probably had a “no death run trophy” in there somewhere ? This collection’s title is named Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King, which leads me to believe there are more collections coming out with that Disney Classic Games part in the title. What other collections could we be expecting? ? Maybe Jungle Book? No way to know for sure, but I will surely look forward to future announcements. Feels good to get masterpieces from the past put on disc for that extra layer of preservation Aladdin will not be a game I will easily forget anytime soon, for it’s one of my absolute favorites. It’s been stuck to me since 1993 and I’ll keep on playing it over and over again for years to come Sometimes an awesome movie can lead to an awesome video game! Popular Post Eramir
Platinum #61: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order I had a really good time playing this game. The collectables are easy to track, even if the map doesn’t cooperate all the time. If you like Star Wars and like Metroidvania games, this is your game. A good singleplayer experience from Respawn, of which we know they can make those really well. (Looking at Titanfall 2). Next up will probably be Nippon Marathon or MediEvil. We will see which it will be. Or Battlefield V if I can get the Death from Above trophy.

Popular Post Whitelightnin683
#185 Yakuza Kiwami 2 YAKUZA KIWAMI 2Obtained all trophies. Difficulty: 4/10 Time: 40~50 hrs Enjoyment: 9/10 A remake of Yakuza 2 and my third platinum in the franchise. Took some time getting use to the combat in this game since it incorporates the new "dragon" engine first used by Yakuza 6 to make the fights more realistic. The graphics and visuals were also given an update with the standard 30 fps. The story is just as good if not better than it's predecessors 0 and Kiwami without going into too much detail. A big portion of the game is exploring both the city of Kamurocho and the entertainment district Sotenbori to engage in the various side activities/quests. Many will be happy to hear that fulfilling the completion list this time around is much easier and a less time consuming. No climax battles either. Mahjong is still required, but as long as your patient and save the three peerless tiles for the two tournaments and the one substory your golden as you just don't need to achieve anything complex such as a full straight or haneman this time. Now I eagerly wait for the physical release of the Yakuza remastered collection.

Popular Post ZoutjeNL
Platinum #18 Spyro The Dragon Enjoyment: 8 Difficulty: 2 Ah Spyro our purple dragon friend is back! I have fond memories of playing the Spryo games back in the day. Truth to be told I don't exactly remember which Spyro game I played but I really enjoyed them when I was a kid. Spyro was a great game to play from beginning to end. It was a nice short game to play between the longer games I have been working on. Because the game is easy it is also a very relaxing experience where you can just lay back and enjoy the ride. The music is nice, the game looks great and the trophies have some great names. I also really like the trophy images. The platinum image is one of my favourites! I am probably not going for the 2nd or 3th game for now, I will save it for later to enjoy it! If you are looking for a short and sweet game, definitely pick up the Trilogy.
