Popular Post Masamune
A True Hero This is proof you've played Super Neptunia RPG thoroughly. You're a true hero! Difficulty: 2.5/10 Enjoyment: 7.5/10 Playtime: 20:23:00 (5 days, 19 hours, 1 minute) Screenshot (I forgot to disconnect from the internet before popping it, so the icon messed up ?): Spoiler I don't know why this game gets so much hate, I thought it was fun. Yeah, it's not the best Neptunia game out there (the story is a bit weak compared to the others, & there's only 5 playable characters), but I really liked the battle system, & how you learned new skills via mastery from your equipment (like FFIX actually). One thing I have to say though (& this is surprising coming from me), but I thought the game was a bit too easy... yeah, I don't have that complaint about many games, but there was little to no challenge in this (the last trophy I earned was for getting a game over, & I had to idle for like 10 minutes on fast forward mode just to die). ? When it comes to trophies, they're all really easy as well... There are a few missable ones, but as long as you know when to get them, they're easy too.
Popular Post FluffyAssassin64
#128 - A Plague Tale: Innocence "Innocence" Earn all "A Plague Tale: Innocence" trophies I've had my eye on this one for a while (ever since it came out, really) and it was a solid - albeit imperfect - experience. Probably the main aspects that would pique your interest would be the setting (mid-14th Century France during the plague) or the story (one of hope, loss and growth). Other components of the game are pretty good too, but nothing to write home about. I'm glad I played it, but it may not be for everyone... keep reading to find out why As I already mentioned, the setting and story of Plague Tale are probably the main selling points of the game. Though not entirely unique (some similarities to Dishonored or AC), Black Plague-era France is largely unexplored in media, so I enjoyed the new ideas it brought to the table. The environments have great variety too, and the setting allows for some sinister people groups (like the Inquisition, or alchemists) to emerge. Most of all though, the game succeeds to make you terrified of swarms of rats. Much like Days Gone (a game I played recently), it's rare that 'classic' game enemies actually become terrifying unless they're explored in a different way. Plague Tale manages to make the pack/swarms an interesting part of the game throughout (as Hordes did for Zombies in Days Gone) and they absolutely add to the experience. The game's overall story was also largely a success. Though the familiar 'family caring for each other in the Apocalypse' aspect has definitely been done before, various sequences (no spoilers) through the game go a long way to developing individuals and relationships. If you enjoyed the character interactions between Joel and Ellie in TLoU or the brothers in 'Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons' you're on the right track. Other aspects I quite liked were the environments and art design (with some beautiful vistas), the simple but emotive soundtrack, and the game's use of fire and light in combat, exploration and puzzles. Unfortunately, that's about as far as my universal praise goes. You might care about the characters, but the models are pretty ugly (the two main characters aren't bad, but the rest are pretty meh... probably why most of the guards wear helmets). ALSO, I recommend that you turn off chromatic aberration in the options... I get they were going for a 'cinematic' look, but the game looked blurry and kinda ugly until I turned it off. Makes a big difference! Voice work can be pretty hit and miss; the brother-sister duo are certainly a hit, but even the supporting characters can feel a bit stilted. Stealth combat (including how rats are utilised) can be interesting, but also doesn't have much depth and gets same-y very quickly. Boss battles - of which there are thankfully few - felt pretty out of place (apart from one of the late-game ones). Puzzles tended to be annoying more than anything (requiring a lot of busy-work despite a simple solution). The story overall had a pretty good flow, but tonal shifts could be jarring and a bit 'strange'. In particular, some story threads are picked up early and dropped off in the mid-to-late game, while others seem to emerge out of nowhere to take over. The ending itself was also a bit abrupt for my liking. Trophies are super easy too, which is nice. Play the game however you want (though, as always, I recommend no spoilers if you can help it), and you can clean up any collectibles via chapter select later. One small tip, though, is to ensure that you prioritise upgrading your sling / equipment (rather than certain expensive 'powerful' items). You do find a heap of the 'rarer' materials in the end-game if you look around, but I suppose these trophies are technically missable if you really don't explore. Then again, why bother playing a game like this unless you explore the environments?? haha Anyway, that's about it. Plague Tale: Innocence has more than a few missteps, but there is still something to love in amongst it all. At about 12-15 hours, this is a somewhat unique story-driven experience that I believe is worth a play if you're interested in the setting or story in particular. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I for one am still glad I went on this journey. Popular Post Darghel
#61 Neptunia Master System mk2 (Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2) Difficulty: fairly easy, but time-consuming Time to complete: around 55 to 60 hours (the game itself is about 40) Recommended: perhaps... It's been a while since I didn't touch this one, 8 years infact! Back then I wasn't big into getting platinums and while I enjoyed the game I wasn't in the mood to replay the game a second time. Times have changed and now I enjoy replaying a lot more and since this game was nearly done I thought it would be nice to put some closure into this, especially when the original Hyperdimension Neptunia (yes, the shitty one) was my very first platinum. Anyway, the game is technically a sequel to the original but it changed so much that it feels more like a reboot: there was a lot of retconning done through the game, such as reworking the story of how IF and Compa met, or how suddenly the CPU have sisters, but I doubt anyone will mind! The game is OBJECTIVELY much better than the original and everything is improved. Well almost. So for one the combat is a lot better, much faster and has more depth; you have more characters than before and you'll recruit much earlier than the original game; gone is the horrible travelling system used in the original and replaced by a simple cursor you move around the map; crafting is added too, and probably much more than I could remember. If anything my biggest gripe with the game, it's the story that tries too hard to be serious and it's really unfitting plus Nepgear, who is the new protagonist, isn't as enjoyable as Neptune - or even Noire from Hyperdevotion - so the overall game is very dull at times. Also gone are the satirical nature of the first game which was probably the only "nice" thing, instead, we're talking of world's end scenario and other things which tops up with the Conquest route which is probably the darkest story I've seen in a Neptunia game (and Neptunia VII starts out dark too, but this ending takes the freaking cake). But don't worry, you get your fair share of fanservice too! Either way, the game is an immense improvement over the original and the trophies are fairly easy but to get the endings you'll have to put a lot of time to get the shares right - probably the only thing that I didn't need from the original. If anything I'm not sure if this game is worth more or less than the current Re;birth 2 game, which is a proper reboot with better combat and other new features. If anything it's a nice jump in the past as you will meet some old characters that are now gone (RIP Gust and Nisa...the characters, not the companies!)
Popular Post MisterGibraltar
70th Platinum SD Gundam: G Generation Genesis The Universal Century's 100-Year Prayer Game's out late 2016 and I bought at launch. Finally have enough will to plat it. It's typical for every SD GGen for me to play a huge chunk early, then take a break halfway to slowly come back bits by bits. Took me total 154 hours to plat due to farming too much and actually read/watch the game too much ?. If I have to plat it again I could do it in less than 70 hours I guess. Got a mixed feeling with the game though. For pros, I like most of the gameplay stuff like abilities swapping, warship's flexibility and group attack, or how stats distribute when level up. The visual is fine even it's a little too 3D for my taste. I like how it covers only UC era, which is my favorite Gundam timelines (Though nothing after U.C.105, somewhat understandable). It even go into lots of side stories that I never get to watch/read/play. The English sub did fine job enough (though bunch of typos, naming inconsistencies, etc). Being a UC-only game so I have to compare to another UC-only SD GGen back in PS2: SD GGen Spirits, and other SDGGen on PS2 like SDGGen Wars, which comes to the cons. The biggest gripe I got with Genesis is it lacks character's personal abilites (not sure if debuted on Spirits or Wars). Char doesn't have Red Comet ability, Gato doesn't have Nightmare of Solomon ability, Kou doesn't have Phantom Ace ability and so on. Out of three I mentioned, only Char got Newtype ability, which is the same with other Newtypes in game. Oldtype like Gato and Kou stuck with generic skillset fits their personality with "large unit mastery" slapped in on higher level. Even those unique abilities broke some games before but isn't that the point? They deserve to be OP as they should. Another thing I don't like is the music. I know it's subjective but damn the music in Genesis, especially for Original Characters that I like to use, is really bad. Very screechy ?. At least I can listen to other thing while playing. The game isn't hard but could have rough time early on. If start now I guess they have OP MS to use since beginning. If you wanna plat it quick, rush all stages without any care of objectives to unlock OP stuff at the final stage. Make use of DLC stages as those stages give very OP option parts (can't remember if those DLC stages are free now or not). Then use that final stage MS+DLC option parts to sweep everything from bottom. With adequate level it changes from one and a half hour normal difficulty stage to less than 15 minutes even on hardest difficulty. All and all, I like Genesis enough, just not as those back in PS2 and PSP. Might get Cross Rays when on nice sale.

Popular Post madbuk
#364 - World End Syndrome Going to be honest, I did very little research into this before buying it. I had seen quite a bit of positivity directed towards it, I knew it was a romance VN, and I heard it got dark sometimes. I needed something fresh after the amount of otomes I've done though and this sounded perfect, it's basically the exact opposite of an otome. Not that otomes are bad, I enjoy them as well. I actually ended up enjoying it quite a bit, I liked that it was character driven instead of plot driven, each route delves into the characters themselves with the actual plot just building in the background (and the way the game handles that is interesting as well). It reminded me of Root Letter in that regard, some of the routes were very personal stories. I also got a strong Persona vibe from it, you go to school and then time progresses and you can choose where to go on a big map and build up social links with the various women in the game, and the game also has a morning/day/night system of progression as well, with each day being playable. The social links only impact which route you go down, there's not really any involved gameplay to be had or enhanced by it, but I don't play VNs for deep gameplay anyway lol. I'd recommend this in a sale, it's definitely not one of the best VNs I've ever done, but it was still an enjoyable time. The cast dynamic and setting is a lot of lighthearted fun, which just makes the serious parts more meaningful.
Sagaan
#149 - Berserk and the band of the hawk Dang the game was hella fun, my rl told me i should watch Berserk the anime. I liked it alot cuz alot of gore was in. So i had to get the game as well. Since i like muso games it was a must play for me. The plat took me 90h around. Its just grindy doin 800 layer on endless eclipses with 8 chars total was boring asf cuz i liked only guts and casca as chars. Nothin is missable. Difficulty i would rate it a 4/10. Story based its the same as the anime so its cool.

Popular Post ZachBoardyHD
Platinum 93: Darksiders 3 Initially I had no plans on playing this game as I tested the game on an alternate account and didn't enjoy it, why is it on my account? Me being an idiot was playing another game on my main account and didn't really like that game either so luckily because I didn't have any Internet that day, I deleted that account and went onto my alternate account so when I signed into that using my account I forgot I had Darksiders 3 on the trophy list and synced it up, so basically now I had Darksiders 3 on my profile???. Now on with the game: I'm so glad that I decided to play it after realising I was now stuck with the game on my profile as I had a real blast playing through the game, I've not heard many good things about the game but I honestly don't know why. I loved how each area connected with one another, the boss fights were okay and not to impressive but going from A to B was the best part as you're slashing away with your whip while doing perfect dodges and slaughtering enemies in the process. I really liked the voice acting from Fury and the 'baddies' in this game too as it really complimented the game due to the atmosphere of the location and just the games story in general. I was not at all looking forward to apocalypse mode as I've played Darksiders 1 and I thought that were so hard even on Normal difficulty but the game had a nice balance I thought, especially when you did the perfect dodges in enemies giving you upperhand. I really liked the feel of controlling Fury too as she's very acrobatic whereas War from Darksiders 1 felt so sluggish when I played that. I was also fond of the 'Dark Souls' approach too even though I know that's one of the thing people hated the most with the game because if you needed to go back and collect collectables the enemies will re spawn and killing them will give you more souls so you can upgrade your attributes. The thing I didn't like the game was the frequent pauses when going to location to location as it had to load in the areas, it happened far too often and with the game being small to begin with, it was quite irratating. I didn't have that many issues with frame rate drops apart from 'The Scar' location which was horrendous and really not fun at all to play through. Unpopular opinion but I thought the game was an improvement from the first Darksiders game. Popular Post blu3st4rdust305
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - PS4 (#340) "Don't Ruin the Moment" Absolutely entertaining game. Decided to take advantage of it still being on PS NOW to play it. First Uncharted game. I guess it is supposed to be the least great (not best) of the bunch, but I delighted in the storytelling, graphics, character dynamics, seamless cinematics, and eye candy set pieces. At first, it felt a little bit of a rip off of a few other single player story-centric action games I have played of late. Having binged the entire God of War series around this time last year, the linear levels, super human climbing and traversal and huge worlds seemed somewhat familiar. The witty banter between Chloe and Nadine and snappy pacing really kept the game super engaging. Often, they would mention common video game tropes, such as things coming in threes or fully expecting for something to occur, but still saying for heaven's (f-'s) sake. Also, commenting on just how ridiculous some things are: "I can see my house from here" or "If we get close enough, we can just grapple onto the car." Beyond that, I tended to enjoy having a female protagonist and a female supporting character. It really made for a story that is not detracted by an attempt to make a statement for its own sake. I mean, it is a statement of its own and there are conversations they have about enjoying working with another woman for once, but its far less obviously a juxtaposition of a woman to a male character in a single story. Besides this, it was nice and short. Even when the world became a wee bit open world (only for 1 chapter and really not that open), it felt contained and manageable. So, at a leisurely pace this game clocks in at about 8 or 10 hours for single play thru. The platinum only required about 2.5 playthrus, but tops out at around 15-20 hours. The time melts away as you move from gorgeous set pieces to gripping action sequences ripped out of the best movies and back to set pieces. From the beginning the game hardly lets you rest between sequences until the open world chapter.... and then back to the epic pace. You start in a huge Indian city, leading to a roof top chase sequence, finally going to a helicopter fight and a huge train sequence. Simply awesome. Now, I guess just works backwards thru the series?

Popular Post Carol
#184 Mecho Tales Mecho Historian Accomplish everything. I want to make TLOU 2 my 200th platinum in May/June, so I'm trying to boost my platinum count a bit. "Mecho Tales" costs just 1.19€ and it seemed an easy and fast platinum, so I bought it on a whim. The trophy list is, indeed, easy, but I didn't find the game that easy. Some platform sections and some bosses are very frustrating, so I actually felt relieved when I finally completed all the levels and got the platinum, This wasn't exactly a relaxing experience, for me. If you're a pro at platformers, I'm sure this would be a straightforward game for you, but, in my case, I rarely play platformers, so it's easy for me to get stuck. In conclusion, "Mecho Tales" is a short and rather fun game, although, for me, playing it was an experience a bit challenging and stressful.

Popular Post Bumperklever
#117 Battleborn (PS4) Saviour of the Universe Date Achieved: 11 March 2020Rarity: Ultra Rare (1-2%)Enjoyment: 7/10 Let me start by saying that I don't get the hate from a few years back as this game got painted as a overwatch clone. It is nothing like overwatch other then the 'heroes'. The gameplay is just like a moba which suprised me a lot. Is it a good Moba? No, I don't I just like the more traditional style since it provides more tactics and this seemed a bit toned down. Next to the PVP , this game has a PVE / story mode. However I also think this is not that good either, it's very generic and not in depth. It tries to be many things, but achieves to be nothing. As a positive, I liked most of the characters in regards of gameplay and characteristics, but I do not that there are some real stinkers. But since I am hunting the trophies, I am looking it from another perspective then as a PVP / PVE game. The difficulty modes (advanced and hardcore) are difficult enough to keep you on your toes, but aren't impossible if you choose a decent PVE character. The lores are long and are therefore a big grind, but since you are playing you are not bored out like most other ' grinds' Just be sure to plan forward, boost what needs to be boosted and play your heart out to get the rest. Even though I might be a bit negative, this game is in the end, decently made and some fun can be had here. I just think the competitors are much stronger in quality and service then battleborn ever was.
