Popular Post PooPooBlast
#135 Zero Escape the Nonary Collection (PS4) A fantastic collection of two VNs on the PS4 that includes 999 (nine persons, nine doors, nine hours) originally ported/slightly modified from the Nintendo DS and VLR (virtue’s last reward) ported from the PS VITA. I’ll break it down into two sections for each game as it’ll be easier to talk about. 999: This VN follows a group of 9 people who were kidnapped by a mysterious figure called Zero and are brought onto a cruise ship that has a lot of similarities to the Titanic. I won’t delve into that too much as that is part of the story and is explained in-game. The nine people were each given a bracelet from 1-9 that cannot be removed. They have to play a game called the Nonary Game that was orchestrated by Zero and they must abide by its rules else they’ll die by a bomb that they ingested while drugged that would be detonated from a remote detonator in their bracelet. If they also choose to do nothing, the ship will sink in 9 hours so they have no choice but to play along and escape through the doors. The premise is set and it’s up to the nine people to choose whether to trust one another. There were 6 endings in this game of which: three were really messed up endings, 1 leaves you with a cliff-hanger if you didn’t pick up a few clues while escaping through the doors, one that ends prematurely but is needed for the true ending and finally the true ending. I will say though that while the true ending was satisfying, the sudden shift in the theme near the end felt really jarring at first. Thankfully going into VLR, I went in with the mindset of expecting batshit crazy things and oooh boy.. I wasn’t wrong.. (More on that below) To explain 999 better if you dont care about spoilers or have played it Spoiler The entire reason this whole thing started was because it was revealed that Ace had Prosopagnosia or the inability to recognize faces (which is a real condition) and he started conducting experiments on people to be able to discover how to telepathically communicate/exchange information with others and see their POV which would help his condition. The moment they mentioned telepathy was when the mind fudging began . He set-up the Nonary game/experiment 9 years from when the present Nonary game was conducted which happened to include June in it when she was a kid. June apparently possessed some sort of power to see in the future and was able to connect with Junpei in the future to save her in the past during the Nonary game so that she could live… I liked the direction the story it took but I have an issue with June being Zero and setting up the Nonary game. It seems like it’s selfish behaviour because June did this so that she can save her ass in the past and exact revenge on the people who helped conduct this same experiment on her and the other kids 9 years ago. It seems like it’s out of character for June to kidnap people (who didn’t help with creating the game but were involved somehow whether they were a detective, a love interest, etc.), force them to play a cruel game for the purpose of revenge (on the people who did conduct the experiment) and saving herself in the past so that she could live in the future. It’s a cool concept but it’s out of character :/. I understand that people must face epiphany and danger in order to connect with the “resonant field” and telepathically communicate which was the ultimate goal but it seems selfish to me that Zero/June did this… (even if the good people weren’t in any real danger because the bombs were fake for instance but they still went through some psychological shit . In terms of gameplay, it’s a mix of reading and puzzle solving. The puzzle solving were a lot like the room escape apps I used to play on my phone. They were fun and short and helped to give more depth to the game Voice acting was really well-done. I had English subtitles while I listened to JP dialogue and most of the VAs sounded familiar. For instance: June – voiced by the same VA who did Makoto from Yakuza 0 and Xsana from FoTNS Lost Paradise Junpei – the main character in the game. He voiced Noctis in FFXV Clover – Voiced Amane from Steins Gate and her voice was the first one I recognized without looking it up! Seven – My favourite character in the game. He voiced Yuya from Yakuza and he also did the JP dub for Kratos! All in all 999 was fantastic! ? VLR: I walked in with a few questions after 999, finished this game and now I have more than double the questions I walked in with . VLR starts off really slow. Very slowly. So slow, I wasn’t sure if VLR was going to be good or not but thankfully I was proven wrong because once you start getting the endings checked off the list, you’ll come to realize they’re all brilliantly connected in a certain way and you MUST go through all the endings before the true ending for a specific reason. The way the devs and writers implemented those concepts was smart and it fit the VN style really well. I won’t go into detail with VLR because I could spend here writing 3 page essays explaining everything that it threw at me. While I really liked VLR, I still felt 999 was more coherent and a slightly better game. Why? Simply because it was much easier to follow along and there weren’t so many subplots that were left unanswered until the final reveal which happened all at once and required a loooooong explanation from a key figure in the game (Plus me spending almost an hour consulting uncle google for answers). It felt like they were trying to one up 999 with all the stuff that was being thrown at you. At some point, I put the controller down, set the dialogue to auto and I was like I'm immune from all the shenanigans they're going to pull so let me just read whatever they're going to reveal. Finally, the entire game, and I mean the entiiiiiiiiiiiirreee game while was very enjoyable, it felt like it was for naught. Why? Because I have to play Zero Time Dilemma to reap its benefits :/ and I'll leave it at that. Nonetheless, in the two weeks I spent playing those games, I had loads of fun. I can’t recommend the collection enough especially if you’re into VNs. With that I’ll leave you with my favourite tracks from the game ?. Enjoy! Spoiler Plays in the second puzzle game I believe in 999. The original DS version had a bass that blasts everything in its surroundings so I chose this version instead Plays in the seventh puzzle in 999. Another great track Probably my second favourite track of all them here. The subtle bass is just ? I'd say my favourite zero escape track as of now. 1:15 and after though is incredible. It gave me Mirror's edge vibes. Look up Prisoner X if you're interested! I love this track. It plays near the end where all the info dump happens making it great to focus on WTF is happening! Popular Post KKrischanz
22# - The Last of Us: Remastered Difficulty - 7/10 Enjoyment - 6/10 Hours played - 50 The single player was phenomenal, and I enjoyed a second run on "Grounded" difficulty even though I generally loathe second playthroughs. The enjoyment does decrease because of all the multiplayer, which I dragged myself through to feed the completionist compulsion. Did Platinum and all DLC. Overall a fantastic single player experience but not great for trophy hunters.
Popular Post starcrunch061
Plat #378: Shadow of the Colossus (PS4) The Horned Boy Acquired All Trophies I'm pretty sure Shadow of the Colossus is just a huge troll game. You get items for the main game from time trials, but the time trials only open after...finishing the main game. You have to play through the game 4+ times to max out stamina, but your reward is a secret garden full of fruits that...lower your stamina. You can try to cross a bridge to escape, but after what seems like 5 minutes of running, you can't get out. Every time you think that something will be added to the game, it isn't. I still like it. But unlike many, I was disappointed by this Bluepoint Games remaster. Visually, yeah, it's great. But the gameplay is so slick now that there's almost no difficulty whatsoever. Still, it's better than the rage-inducing PS3 port (which I might plat one day, but...probably not). Also, that trophy image is kind of sucky. It just looks cheap and lame.

Popular Post ViciousAly
#50 Death Stranding Greatest of Great DeliverersObtained all Death Stranding trophies. Rarity at the time of posting: 18.35% (RARE) It's been almost around 3years+ since I left the site, and now I have finally decided to return, all clean and legit. Since then I have been collecting Collector's Editions of multiple games that pique my interest a lot and I have made a sort of goal to achieve Platinum for every Collector's Edition I own, and so far I have done it with Death Stranding being the latest one. It's a Kojima game so it was a no-brainer for me to jump on to the bandwagon and that too to go above and beyond and get the CE. Apart from being time consuming/repetitive, the platinum was not difficult at all.

Popular Post m0nst3rG4m3r007
Managed to get 2 Platinum's in close succession these last couple of days so gonna post them both: #47: Wolfenstein: The New Order Had a lot of fun with this game, been in my backlog pretty much since I got my PS4 many years ago now but finally got around to beating it. Super solid FPS gameplay and a fairly easy road to platinum. Biggest challenge is the last couple of missions on Über difficulty, so I'd say it's about a 4/10 in terms of difficulty. #48: Dead Rising Saw this was on sale on the PSN store and I only ever played in sequel back in the day so I thought I'd grab it. Had no idea till I'd already started how time consuming the platinum was going to be with Zombie Genocider and 7-Day Survivor. The game itself is fun with arcade style gameplay and an interesting (but no way mind-blowing story). The worst part about this platinum is when you mess up on 7-day survivor, took me three tries till I managed to do it but the nerves I had making sure I never forgot to heal up was a lot. Probably give this one about a 7-or-8/10 but this mainly comes from the effort required rather than difficulty.
Popular Post sk_lp_him
#56 - Batman The Enemy Within I Am the Night It ran better than the first game. The first Telltale Batman is probably the most broken with stuttering, frame drops, missing character models and audio.

Popular Post Suparichie123
Skate 3 Platinum Trophy Earn all Skate 3 Trophies Holy Hell, I never thought I'd actually be able to get the Plat for one of my favourite games! When I started playing the game as a 12 year old in 2011, it seemed like too much of a task. When I got back to it, the Servers were shut down. Some time later the servers actually got reactivated, which made me jump back on it again! After noticing that one of the features (Teams) was not fully restored though, I kinda gave up on it another time. I almost accepted that I just won't get it, until I noticed that people were actually doing the online stuff just fine recently! Spent some weeks/months looking for an Online Team that still accepts new members, and after paying 2 bucks to what seems to be the last active Team Owner of the whole game, and finding some other nice people to do the trophies with, I can proudly call myself the owner of this thing =) Super glad!

Popular Post Conor
#55-JAK AND DAXTER: THE PRECURSOR LEGACY (PS3) Top of the Heap Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Time Taken: 11 Hours, 4 Minutes & 2 Seconds Rarity: 17.4% Rare (PSN) / 38.34% Uncommon (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: The Super Orberator- Collect 2000 Precursor Orbs Jak and Daxter was one of my first PS2 games and it really felt like an evolution of Naughty Dog's previous hit series Crash Bandicoot. Its virtually seemless world (not quite open-world but that was alien concept to me at the time anyway) blew my mind and the platforming and collecting felt awesome. The HD remaster on PS3 makes the game look exactly as I remember it- albeit this time in widescreen- with its vibrant, colourful worlds and great character designs, and although it still holds up very well, there are some issues with the camera and controls. It really does feel like an early PS2 game. I also don't remember dying this much in it but hey it isn't long or overly difficult, just seemed to be more than a few cheap deaths. I still really enjoyed my time with this. Although Daxter can grate a little bit, the characters were still likable, though the throwaway villains (one voiced by Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, no less) aren't one of the strong points. And even though this was a game aimed at young-ish audiences, I thought the jiggle physics on the female villain were amusing, plus Jak staring a Kyra's rear in a cutscene was also funny, I guess that's just how games were made back in those days. To be fair, Kyra is actually pretty well-characterised. Not overly-sexualised (a least not beyond the point of being an alleged 14-year old baring most of her torso and getting hit on constantly by a rodent, anyway), not a damsel in distress and actually displays ingenuity and agency. Getting closer to that 3000 trophy mark now. Edited April 8, 2020 by Stan Lee

Popular Post BlackSnake1435
Platinum #41 Tomb Raider Lengend Enjoy: 7/10 Difficulty:4/10 I played this game for the ps3 for the very first time, and I must admit it, I liked it, but honestly I think the newest tomb raider games are way better than this one. I liked the nostagia of the first games with the combat system and so on, and also the few places to explore. Right now i'm playing anniversary, and i'm enjoying that one way more. Tomb Raider and Lara Croft are still one of my favorites series and I'm glad to be able to play those installments I missed at its time.

Popular Post flashpool23
135 - RiME The end is a new beginning with this game, as in I get to start a new game after finishing this one. Honestly though, this game has beautiful trophy images and a story (ending) that makes it worth playing. However, it's simple to the point that you need to be in a certain mindset to want to power through it as the beginning can put you off it otherwise. I recommend it, if only for the ending it presents.
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#438 - Shenmue Was a decent game. Visually it's alright and hte gameplay is passable. The major problem is the hours of downtime. The game would easily be 2-3 hours shorter, if you could fast forward time. There were also some really awkward doalogues that made no sense. So it either suffers from a lot of mistranslations or some really bad writing. Enjoyment: 6 Difficulty: 3
