Popular Post Undead Wolf
#315 - Death Mark Death Mark Looking forward to more terror descending upon you who has overcome all fear. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. I love horror VN's and I found this one was very good at building up a creepy/unsettling atmosphere. Each chapter focuses a different spirit and I was really interested in learning more about them and how they came to be. Their designs were pretty terrifying to look at. New characters are introduced for each chapter too which keeps things fresh. I also appreciated the interactivity in this VN like how you can freely move to different areas, move around a flashlight to examine different things on screen, and you even fight the spirits in a sort of turn-based boss battle. My only real gripe with the game is that locations are reused a lot, but that's understandable in a game like this. I look forward to playing the next game in the series.
Popular Post Juzota
#135 - DiRT Rally 2.0 Completionist Earn all other trophies in DiRT Rally 2.0 This is the best game I've played in 2020. Just pure fun and excitement. Not many games can do that to me anymore, especially this difficult. Thankfully the Plat isn't that hard but it's still quite challenging because I'm not that good in racing games. I think I need to buy a steering wheel. I think that would make games like this even more fun. Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 5/10
TheMutilatingOne
I'm unsure of how to link because I just started using the forums so sorry for not looking as crisp as everyone else but Goat Simulator not even 20 minutes ago. That damn Flappy Bird clone was the hardest part.
Popular Post FLCLcrim2
#150 Predator: Hunting GroundsUltimate HunterUnlocked after all other trophies are unlocked This was such an insane grind. The 1000 Claims as predator, even with a full lobby you can only get 7 max per game. Compounded when taking turns with others to do this you are looking at barely 100 every two hours or so. It was a long painful grind. Thanks to those in the group for sticking with it. The base game itself is fun, though I still prefer Friday that 13th over this one. If you are iffy on going for the platinum, just know the grind is unreasonably painful to do. Though being in the top 20 to finish this is pretty cool I suppose. $151 Days GoneOne PercenterGo above and BEYOND, unlocking every trophy in Days Gone Days Gone is an interesting game. It is not amazing, but it is enjoyable. A slow burn of a story, which is made even slower if you just ride your motorcycle everywhere. The Story is pretty decent, though I found myself liking some of the side characters more than I did Deacon. Not that he was a bad character, he just felt kind of one note. Overall a really easy platinum to get, If you do all side quests and work towards getting level 3 with the camps before the end of the game, then post game grind is not bad.
Popular Post Zircon_Lotus
Platinum #89 I am Setsuna I am Setsuna is a JRPG that tries to make us relive the joy of the games of the past. Is it succesful in it's objective? First let's start with the combat. This game has a simple ststem. Your characters will act when their ATB gauge is full. After that, if you continue to wait, the SP circle will start to fill. When it's full, you get 1 SP, and it continues to fill until you get the maximum of 3 charges. When you use a skill, there will be a brief blue spark, and if you press square, the command will have an upgraded effect, be it additional damage, more targets, etc. This is called Momentum. This creates a interesting situation: should I wait and use a empowered skill, or act right away? On the normal fights you will generally prefer to use Momentum, but in boss fights, specially later ones, things are not so simple. Is it worth to give the boss 2 or 3 actions before you can use your Momentum skill? There is also another thing of interest that the game does not address, but that is very important. Normally on games like this, both characters and enemies stand on a fixated position. After the character does his thing, he returns to his position. This game is different. The enemies are always moving, and some commands also move your character. This is important because this can place you in the range of an enemy attack, or make certains spells not affect all your party has intended. Those two things, in my opinions, transformed the simple combat from classic JRPGs into something fresh. Another point of interest is how you get skills. Instead of learning them from leveling up, or from spending points in status, you literally buy them. After battle, monsters always drop itens, that will change depending on how you defeated them (killing them with fire, water, while debuffed, etc). If you sell them to the Magic Consortium, black robed man present in every town, you can buy skills, but only after selling the minimun quantity. Think of it as crafting a weapon. But this isnt enough. To use those skills, you need to equip talismans. Those are accessories that cointain slots that let you equip those skills. There are three types of slots: A, for every kind of spritnite / skill. C, for command skills, like Cure, Fire. And S, for support spritnites that have passive effects, like Commanding Wave, that makes your ATB fills faster. You also gain slots from leveling up to certain levels. They added another interesting mechanic that let you costumize your skills, called Fluxation. When you use a skill while in Momentum, you have a small chance of, after battle, adding to it a upgrade listed on your equipped talisman. The game is easy. I didnt bother farming for EXP, and the only time I would backtrack were on the rare occasions that I needed a small cash to upgrade weapons to everyone. I didnt bother with talismans, only using those that I found on chests. To be safe, I switched every party member when they got a level (everyone gets EXP after battle, but inactive members only get half), to make sure that if a certain strategy was needed, the character wouldnt be underleveled. The only one that was never out of my party was Endir, because spaming Cyclone in Momentum mode was fundamental to fight the normal battles. The guide states that you should be around level 45-50 after the fight with the boss previous to the last, but my Endir was lvl 42, while everyone else was between 35 and 38, so maybe I was underleved, even then I didnt have any problems. There were only 2 bosses that gave me trouble and made me meet the game over screen: the boss on the Fridging Caves, and the boss from the penultimate story dungeon. If you abuse the preemptive strike mechanic, most encounters can be won in seconds spaming AoEs skills in Momentum Mode. The OST is very beautiful and enjoyable. They almost exclusively used piano scores, and the songs are a joy to hear. I saw people complaining about the game only having snow areas, but this didnt bother me. There are games with almost only plains and foresta that look the same, cities that everywhere look the same, and I'm not even talking about certain online games that only feature one map, so I dont get the complaint. The graphics were made to emulate the games of old, and they did a good job. It looks like those games, but have the quality that the current generation can offer, without having too much quality and ruining the nostalgia immersion. There were two things that I didnt like. The first is the simple design of the dungeons. Usually they only have one map, and they dont have twists and turns to exhaust you and complicate your life. I mean, come on, a cave or a mountain cant have a simple design. The second is the absence of a World Map. But there is something else that I have to praise, and it is the Snow Chronicles, a ingame tracker for everything, except the gameplay time. How I wish more games had features like this. The trophies are not hard to get. Most you will get naturally while playing the story or making preparations for the optional bosses. But there are two grinds that you cant escape. The first is the grind to level up. I decided to play safe and level everyone to 60 before the "postgame" content, and I think it took me around 2 hours to get everyone there using the Ocean food. The other is the 200 Fluxation trophy. Playing normally I got 89, so if you try to do this while playing, constantly switching talismans, or even buying the same techs to get them, you may even get the trophy without grinding. I didnt to this, and had to grind for little less than 2 hours. To end my post, you might be asking yourself: why didnt he address the story? Well, the story, to me, is the cornestone of an JRPGs, and sadly I am Setsuna fails in this aspect. The story and the characters are just too simple, I was unable to feel deeply connected to them. This adventure is not one filled with joy, but one filled with death and sorrow, yet I couldnt feel sadness at any point. You have one big goal, that is to led the sacrifice to the Last Lands, and the entire game is just you solving problems to reach that place, and that is it. When you browse about the game in the internet, you often see people comparing this game to Chrono Trigger. I never played it, but I think this game feels like a more artistic, less hardcore version of FFI. Maybe if they added voice acting, or if the game had more dialogue not related to the main story, to expand the characters and their goals, I could feel connected to the story and the characters, something that didnt happen. I am Setsuna does a very good job delivering a refined version of the experience we had with those games years ago, but it fails in making itself memorable, and stand amongst the great JRPGs of the past.
Popular Post Omelette Paradise
#357 - Call of Cthulhu This was fine for the most part. It was a lot more linear than I expected it to be given it was marketed as an RPG when really it plays more like a first-person adventure game. The game's story is a well known one so I won't get into that but it does a very good job of serving up a creepy unsettling atmosphere. Jump scares are few and far between and the game's horror is more atmospheric in tone. The thing that got me down a little bit was how obtuse some of the puzzles are (Chapter 9 I'm looking at you) and if you've played the game you'll know what I mean. An overall enjoyable experience however. It was pretty good. Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10

Popular Post Draps-1337
#47 Bloodborne Probably taken my favorite spot of the soulsbornesekiro series. I had a really great time. Every night after work I was looking forward to booting up Bloodborne to take on that next boss and explore that next area! The rally mechanic really encouraged me to play more aggressive and I think going back to souls games, I think I'll try playing more aggressive in the future. The chalice dungeons are required to get the platinum, you need to complete the 'base' progression path and in the later ones is probably some of the most challenging bosses in the game, and the difficulty really gets up there. I probably spent almost as much time in the chalice dungeons as I did in the base game. The DLC was really good, as most From Soft DLC is. While I don't think it was as huge as the DLC in the souls games, it was still a decent chuck and probably has my favorite fight in the entire game. Popular Post AccessEngage21
#126 Bullet Girls Bullet Girls Difficulty: 3/10 Fun Factor: 7/10 Rarity: 17,98% Time in Total: 2 Days, 4 Hours Ok, so after literally 5 months since the last platinum (thanks to a bunch of game that get to me out of nowhere) im finally back to some platinum talking, this time, will be a trilogy, three japanese games for the vita (also working in the PSTV) that i got to play until i decide to go back to my good old ps3 to replay some classics, so lets talk about the first of three games here, Bullet Girls.....or walking fanservice: the shooter..... Now, since i beat the game back in february (before all this incident right now in the world), i can barely remember that much (also help that was full on RE5 over again so.......) but my general terms is a third-person shooter in basic terms, playable, a little clunky here and there but for the most of the time, is decent enough, but the biggest virtue is premise. A bunch of girls decide that for some reason that to fight each other with realistic weapons and vehicles (even freaking tanks!) because the plot demand it or something, i guess the story have some deep but im not willing to translate it and i think that the gameplay in general will make you understand why, now, of course weapons will be one thing, but why girls?, well, that is because this game has the "senran kagura" sense of fanservice.....that right people, transform a serious thing (shinobi that fight in one and girls with weapon in the other) and put them a goddamn shield system that use the clothes as one, that right, you weapon can literally destroy part of the enemy girls clothers and leave them naked with the classic "fog-kun" to protect them for showing us his stuff (even better with a bazooka!, they get "technically naked" with one shot or two in general!), so pretty much "senran kagura with guns, wonderful... ok, so graphics and performance...actually really good, frame rate is consistent and the characters models looks decent enough, especially in the pstv, sadly, the scenarios and missions in general tends to be pretty flat in return, some of the mission in general are getting certain amount of medals, destroy certain enemies (or even vehicles), get to point a to b, protect or destroy convoys, etc, no really big or original, but they also short in general, there will be one or two that will be a little more difficult to do, but in general the game tends to be no really that hard, but the basic graphics in the scenarios were a no-no, even with the great framerate for the most part. Sound in general is decent i guess, music in the intro is really good, but i cant barely find anything about that theme in YT or in any media, mostly the second game and that Phantasia get more attention...but this one, really hard to find, anyway, the rest of the soundtrack is there, nothing great but nothing terrible either, sound effect the same, and since is japanese, this game has full VA in cutscenes and during gameplay and sound good (even if the most you are going to listen in general are the enemies moans when you beat rips their clothes) Gameplay maybe is the biggest thing in this room, so to sum up once again is a third-person shooter that is mostly easy if you dominate the controls first, you can run, take cover in walls and objects big enough, get into first person mode to more precise shooting (the controls make that a little more complicated and a dogde mecanic that is important to master, no only because you are invencible will you are rolling, you can also shoot at the end of the roll to get some sort of auto aiming in general, making killing enemies even easier, now the weapons you can use are the basic standart in this type of war games, pistols, shoguns, assault rifles, spiner rifles, bazookas and grenades, each of them with 3 different levels, the more higher the level, the best the weapon becames, i will explain later how to get them. each of the 8 playable character (have 2 of them in the beginning, and after beat her main mission you unlock the rest of them) have a special affinity to certian weapons, for example the red haired one is good with pistols in general, the other inicial chick is actually good with shotguns, every weapon is good for certain enemies, but in my opinion (and the one in the trophy guide) is using the assault rifles the most, they have the most ammo, they make good damage and pretty much one bullet in the head is enough to do headshot in general (which, you can guess it, also defeat the chicks in one shot...) to not spoiler more, there are like 28 stages in general (3 normal missions and the last one serves as a boss battle), a special one that give you consecutive missions in general, many bra and panties to unlock (that actually give you bonuses in general, but get them....well, better discover that for yourself) and the most brutaly explicit minigames that you ever see after beat the boss of each area....good lord that was something else. But anyway, that is the first of the japanese last run of the pstv this year, and really was a suprised one, it was a better game that i was thinking in the beginning, sure, hell of fanservice and simple gameplay aside, at least was more fun to play that the port of E.D.F 2 for the vita (that still called bullshit that no even years latter can give at least a normal framerate in a consistent time, so anyway, still like it, not the best of the three (the last is a sure one in that) but still is a game that really proves to me that is worth my time. Popular Post Conor
#59- GOD OF WAR (PS VITA) Trophy of Zeus Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Time Taken: 3 Days, 2 Hours & 36 Minutes (15 Hours in-game) Rarity: 4.0% Ultra Rare (PSN) / 19.45% Rare (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: I'll Take the Physical Challenge- Complete the Challenge of the Gods "The Monster you created has returned... to kill you!" It is fair to say that the original God of War for the PS2 is an awesome game, ranking among my favourites for the system and kicking off a series of beloved PlayStation exclusives that continues to this day. I had already platinumed the PS3 remaster though I was hesitant to go for the Vita version as well. Where do I begin... The game just looks and runs a lot worse than the PS3 version- that's a given, considering the Vita's more limited hardware- but some sections just run like ass and the character models really took a hit. To be fair, it looked even more garish to me because I actually played it on a PS TV since I currently lack a functional Vita, so perhaps a smaller screen would have hidden some of the grittier details. It also controls a lot worse, particularly the rolling maneuver and balancing sections resulting in many deaths. The video files are also hideously compressed and pixelated. Otherwise, it is a 16:9 re-release of the original God of War. I will plat the sequel as well on Vita, before heading onto the remastered version of God of War III for PS4. After that, I will finally tackle the juggernaut that is the 2018 Game of the Year, God of War.... which could have done with a number or subtitle or something! But for now, my 60th platinum will go to a game I have come to love immensely- The Last of Us...

It always interested me as a game, but I didn't know if I would ever find someone to play with. In one of the recent sales I took a chance and bought it and hoped through PSNprofiles I would find someone to play it with. @DamagingRob to the rescue. This is a fantastic co-op game. Albeit short, but the story was really good with a few twist and turns. I still prefer Single player games, but if we got more co-op like this I would like that. I liked the 70's setting for the game and it looked great. Didn't have any issues with the game. As for the trophies, they were easy and I was a little disappointed there wasn't at least a trophy for finishing the game. We had the platinum an hour or so before finishing the story out. Anyone who plays this and stops when getting the platinum is doing them selves a disservice. If you have a co-op partner give it a shot.

The game itself is very good with the classic feel of Tomb Raider. The multiplayer trophies are just extremely long and boring to do. The online has never been alive anyway, so boosting alone was not a good experience. The good thing is that I had a lot of fun with the single player, even though some trophies had a chance of bugging out, I didn't experienced it myself.

Popular Post DamagingRob
#449- A Way Out All The Ways Out Collect all trophies This was something I always thought looked interesting, but didn't know who I'd play it with. So, when @snakebit10 asked me, I was down. It was very unique and fun. It often had split screen, so you could see what your buddy is doing. And you have to work together to get past a lot of obstacles. Some stealth, some shooting, some driving sections, some quicktime events. Pretty varied gameplay. Quite a few minigames to mess around with throughout, as well. A couple of trophies were slightly annoying. Like the pull up one. I mashed that button like a maniac, got to 20, and no trophy. Absolutely make sure you talk to the guy first, or you'll have to do it all over again. :/ That was rough on the arm.. Should have broke out the turbo. The baseball one was pretty weird, too. I don't know what counts as a home run, but it took a bit. The story was also very good, with a very unexpected twist. And the graphics looked great to me. Some really beautiful scenery. So yeah, if you have a friend or significant other to play this with, it is absolutely worth it. Can even do so for just $5, since it's on EA Access. Platinum image: Spoiler #450- Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Lionheart Obtain all trophies Had to be done. The PS1 trio of Final Fantasies are some of my favorite games of all time, and are really responsible for getting me into JRPGs. 7 was my first, so it may always get the nod as my favorite, but this one was also fantastic. It's also coincidentally the first Final Fantasy game I ever bought. The kid next door introduced me to the series with 7, and I decided to not buy the one he had, so we'd have more to play. Megabrain. At the time, the graphics blew us away. And now, well, they're not so great. But I still had a lot of fun replaying it. The story and gameplay are still great, and x3 speed is a game changer. I actually replayed it and 9 on the PS3, actually beating them for the first time ever with the help of walkthroughs. And it probably took me 50-60 hours. With x3 speed, I was at the final boss in under 27. o.O But anyways, yeah, I love this game. I didn't like this game as much as I liked Payback. It's fine if it's an unpopular opinion. but I just thought they tried harder with the story in Payback compared to this game. This game's "story" was very short and just unnecessary. However, the gameplay and customization options are this game's saving grace. I absolutely love how much you can customize your cars. You can make any car a drift car, race car, or off-road car. Hell, I made my pink convertible jaguar my off road car. Ridiculous? Sure, but awesome! The map is huge and diverse as well. However, I liked Payback's map better. All and all, is this a great Need for Speed? No, not in my opinion. Is it a decent time killer with enjoyable aspects? Yes, so it's an okay racing game if you're a racing game fan.

Popular Post Lance_87
#26: Final Fantasy VII Remake Man, what a blast! That's how you remake a game from scratch. Or to be more correct, that's how you remake a fully-fledged game based on a portion of the original game. This game took me 60 hours to be completed the first time on Standard difficulty, and almost twice the time to max all materias, levels and do a second full playthrough on Hard difficulty. This is the first new JRPG (and Final Fantasy) i've ever played since the PSP days. Yes, i do have accesso to most of the PS3/PS4 era titles but i never touched them. Totally worth the 56 euros i spent for it.

After the great timing of that gaming session I decided on this as the milestone as it's a Vita game that's been in my backlog for ages, one of the earliest ps plus games I played, a challenging and ultra rare platinum and most importantly, a fun game in its own right. It's nice to see an example of the vita version being the full console version on a handheld too.
