Popular Post Eyjabria
Ruiner(PS4) Nailed It! Unlock all the trophies in RUINER Ruiner was one of my favorite games last year so now I bought it on PS4 too as my summer vacation just started. This is the fourth platform I'm playing the game on. The PlayStation trophy list is for babies, missing some achievements (such as < 1 h speedrun) that are on Xbox and Steam. Which is why I was able to plat the game in the first place... I hate speedruns. I love the atmosphere and world building of Ruiner and the audiovisuals are nothing to scoff at either. Excellent soundtrack and nice art direction. I've probably spent hours walking the streets of Rengkok just chatting up the NPCs and listening to their worries that reveal a lot of interesting tidbits of the game world. There's some funny dialogue to find too, such as a skinny young female complaining to her friend how she can't even cry because it would ruin her spray tan. Story is pretty grim and cool in a way that it leaves you to interpret things. Gameplay is entertaining enough to finish the game multiple times. What I especially like is the freedom to distribute your skill points any way you want and you can also redistribute them at any point, even in the middle of a fight to switch your strategy on the fly. Even though I've played Ruiner multiple times on various platforms before, thinking I had seen everything, I managed to stumble upon a secret level. It was a pretty cool surprise and brought me a lot of joy! Spoiler The most difficult trophy is Die hard, which requires you to die 666 times. Normally it would just be a matter of grind but the PS4 version doesn't seem very performant so it really becomes a challenge. After dying a bunch of times the game starts lagging, the frames drop and sound starts getting choppy and echoey (is that even a word?)... until the game finally crashes. I lost about 150 deaths at some point thanks to this. So it's advised to start racking up deaths early in the game to avoid a situation where you'd be unable to get all the deaths in the final levels. If you're looking for a cyberpunk twin-stick shooter, Ruiner would be an excellent pick.
Popular Post Spamlynguist
#19 LEGO The Ninjago Movie Videogame (PS4) Grand Master of Trophies I think this was maybe the shortest LEGO game to 100%? Anyway, quite enjoyed my time with it except for the horrible load times and a few crashes/bugs like enemies not spawning properly. I also quite liked the fact that you don't have to replay story missions like previous LEGO games but are just free to explore more open levels after you beat it for the first time.
Popular Post Godo Fwar
#328 - Control Director of the FBC Unlock all the other trophies Wasn't planning to buy this game until I saw the price drop. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would, although I felt that the story was a bit short. And it's not without issues either: the game kept lagging after pausing/resuming and the loading times were quite long.

Popular Post Edunstar84
Plat #102 - Ragnarok Odyssey Ace Platinum trophy Aquired all trophies. I'm crying salty tears of joy right now. At almost 3 years, it's my longest plat. I remember when I bought this game years ago, thinking that I'd enjoy it more than Soul Sacrifice because it looked pretty. Well, you know, I should've played this game when I bought it because 1. not many people play it anymore and 2. the online is region locked. I mean, does that even make sense? Anyway ROA is a monster hunter clone with nordic themes. The quests are separated by chapters which help increase your character's stats. Another way to upgrade is to use cards that are rewarded from quests or dropped from monsters. I didn't use many of them because the dlc cards became very handy until I got to chapter 9, which was the first "wall" I encountered. Luckily I came across 2 people who still played the game. Not sure if they want to be named, but thank you so much!!! Without their help, I would've still been stuck on chapter 9. It feels so good to get this off my backlog.

Popular Post blu3st4rdust305
Detroit: Become Human - PS4 (#425) "Detroit Master" I love me a good adventure game. I will start this spoiler free and then dive a bit more deeply. Having recently played thru (and then grinding out the platinum) Beyond Two Souls, I was a bit hesitant. Moreso than any other recent Quantic Dream game, this one allowed you easily identify and visualize the effect of your decisions. The branching paths of the flowchart are actually mapped out for you to review and see how a different response may have cause a completely different set of events to occur. The intricate nature of this narrative adventure is simply impressive. Writing this game out and properly ensuring all of the moving pieces in the game was in the right place is a feat, which seems like the graduation of the developers after they accomplished something similar to a smaller scale with Heavy Rain. Following multiple characters whose stories are inexorably tied together by the main focus of the narrative, this game really shows what a strong focus and realized vision could be. Beyond Two Souls only had 1 character's story being told in flash backs and forwards, creating intricacy simply by needing to place the story beats in a meaningful order. despite not being sequential. Visually, this game is also impressive. The character models, motions, the worlds they inhabit are amazing. Future Detriot is beautifully realized and even the dark, dreary moments are also stunning. The world building by juxtaposing the shiny modern world with the decaying underworld is also key to tell the story that is here. I just loved it. The voice and motion capture actors are excellent. All three leads were convincing in their various states of android-ness, while still showing humanity. Connor is surprisingly deep and captivating and was my favorite playable character, probably due to some underlying humor in his mechanics. Hank was my favorite character in the game overall by far. His tirade at the FBI agent, if prompted, made me crack up so hard. The sound design and score were also excellent. The set pieces and characters are musically themed well and this helped differentiate your time with each character and their settings. It is clear a very significant amount of time was spent building each character out to each potential sense that a game can make you feel. The extras are pretty cool. Having really enjoyed the game, I dug into the Videos showing the behind the scenes of some of the creative bits including interviews with several of the actors. Its really cool that these were included with the game. Even the platinum felt less grindy than other Quantic Dream games, even though this game was probably the longest. Some sections required replay, but the story was different so it didn't feel as stale as Beyond Two Souls did. (I swear, if I had to go thru that final chapter of Beyond Two Souls one more time...) That is not to say this game is flawless. Despite my praise for the storytelling achievement due to the complexity of the story, this is probably also where I felt left wanting. Some of the story beats felt discordant or maybe just taking a step too far logically based on each character's development. Maybe this was affected in my gameplay by having one of the characters die early on in my first playthru, so the story shifted between two narratives for the significant chunk, likely cutting out some fleshing out that may have helped make character actions or story developments easier to believe. I feel that it may have also been an attempt to remove forced exposition and have the player piece more of this story on their own than is usual. Overall, I have to say this story falls short of the gripping narrative in Heavy Rain, but certainly outshines Beyond Two Souls. Spoiler Finally, the themes and imagery used are a topic of discussion all their own. This game is truly a piece of art and as such is open to interpretation, analysis and criticism. This game conjures up painful images of the past (and present) and uses them as a framework to explain a metaphor. Sometimes, these are delivered with a sledgehammer, like the Holocaust imagery of Kara's story in the recycling center, which required the actors and writers to anchor the brutality of the imagery with the connection between Alice and Kara. This was a painful piece of narrative. Other pieces, like Markus's revolution, are a bit more nuanced, as you can more directly control the motivating factors and emotions of the character and how his followers feel about him. Even still, other parts were almost cliched. The underground railroad led by Rose felt particularly weak. Although, I did appreciate the direct lineage of the character's heritage to the history behind their story arch. Many scenes have something to add to this layered narrative, and I appreciated that. It is clear the writers were inspired by history to tell this story and this comes with some baggage. I appreciated the story the game allowed the player to experience and understand that it can be challenging or conflicting for some people. Speaking strictly for myself, I enjoy art that provides a challenge, that makes you stop and think or even just allows you analyze the story beyond its surface. This game does not allow for anything different. I have a hard time believing this game could be played without arriving at the commentary and imagery. Not every one plays games for the same reasons, so by this function, this game is definitely not for everyone. Despite this, I do recommend it.

Popular Post djb5f
Platinum #92 NBA 2K20 Enjoyment 9/10 Difficulty 8/10 Platinum Rarity 0.32% What can I say, NBA 2K delivers again. The gameplay is spot on (even if baseline drives seem a little overpowered). Great depth and nuance to the games. Incredible visuals and player likeness. Equally fun game to pick up and play when you just have 30 minutes or when you have hours. The game itself is deep with many modes but for Platinum you will find yourself mainly in MyCareer (building up your own individual player) and MyTeam (Card based game where you keep improving your lineup of current stars and past legends. You can do this through online or single player games and challenges, whichever is your preference. The comparisons to “gambling” are overblown, no more so than any EA Sports Ultimate Team mode. You get packs from completing challenges or as free giveaways. And what is in these packs can differ. Luck of the draw. Oh the horrors! Can you imagine the righteousness and backlash if opening packs of baseball cards was a big thing these days but I digress. The best way to build up your team is not through packs but through the in-game Auction House where you can target and buy any player you desire through in-game currency you have earned. Great fun building and improving your lineup with your favorite players. I think it is an amazing month of PS Plus in July (3 winners being offered). Even if sports games aren’t your go-to, this game is well done and a worthy inclusion. And if you are a sports fan, this is a no brainer to play. There will be one trophy that stops many from platinum, the others can be earned fairly easily/quickly. Verdict: HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Popular Post Redgrave
- #185: The Dream, Fulfilled - Yakuza 5 Remastered This game much like the rest of the Yakuza games was quite the ride. Kind of like Yakuza 0, it had a lot of things happen after another but this time with a total of five playable characters with their own stories wrapped around the overall one. In most other stories this tends to make them cluttered or convoluted but not here thankfully. Like the other games it is filled to the brim with awesome and hype moments that kept me hooked into the story to see how it concluded. Also like Yakuza 0, the Completion List requires you to do quite a lot for the Platinum, but more on that below. Gameplay-wise the combat felt very refined. Enemies didn't block too much like in Yakuza 3, but they also block a bit more than they did in Yakuza 4 which made it feel like a balanced combat experience. But not only that, the moveset of most characters had a lot of variety. Kiryu's moveset was fast and powerful while also having a lot of variety to attack strings and Heat moves, including Heat moves that let you counter enemies that grab you or are about to hit you at the last second. Not to mention that you can make performing the legendary Tiger Drop slightly easier to pull off, on top of being able to press to go into a red Heat state and become invulnerable while being able to repeatedly punch enemies down. This makes a lot of the fights a joke at max level, but Kiryu is considered a legend for a reason Saejima like in Yakuza 4 is a slow character but him tanking damage as well as his damage output makes up for that. There isn't much else new for him apart from being able to throw enemies around in a circle and have them hit other enemies. Akiyama is also similar to how he is in the fourth game except now he can have air combos to juggle an enemy in the air, so I found him pretty fun to play as in this one too. The only character I wasn't too fond of playing as was Shinada, which stems from his moveset feeling limited or barebones compared to the rest. I think the intent with him was to use weapons more, but more often than not I found just using his fists to be better at ending fights and so when it came to NG+ I just gave him the Golden Pistol so that way his fights would end quicker. I assume they wanted to do more with his moveset but didn't get to complete it fully, which is a shame but it's a minor issue compared to how good everything else is. The other character is Haruka herself, but her battles are on the dance floor than with her fists. The rhythm minigame with her played very well, and the songs that accompany them are pretty catchy. When it comes to side content the game has quite a lot of it, but I'll start with the side stories. Kiryu's side stories involve taxi driving missions, which I found to be fun, especially the racing one because not only can you paint an anime girl on your taxi, but you can play the Let's Go Away song from the Daytona soundtrack The other one includes driving a customer to a location in town and you get rewarded based on safe driving and being a friendly driver. Saejima has a hunting side story which involved hunting deer and other animals in a forest. Oh yes, bears too, because if there's anyone apart from Kiryu that could take on a bear it's Saejima Haruka's involves being an idol so there are tons of events such as dance-offs, interviews, and quiz shows for you to partake and increase her fame. Lastly, Shinada's involves playing baseball which I also found fun and it plays somewhat differently from the regular batting cages. Akiyama is the only one without a side story, which I would have liked to see but I'm guessing they couldn't really fit one in there for him like they could the others. The other content includes the usual minigames such as the gambling games, fishing, batting, Pool, Darts, Sega Arcade games etc. that the other games have so the game is chock-full of content to do. There's even the arena which you need to do for every character except Haruka. I found the arena to be more difficult for Akiyama and Shinada because Akiyama has the least amount of health so doing some of his tournaments such as the 1v100 or the Limited Berserk where you are at low health were tricky but I pulled them off. Shinada has more health but because of his moveset you're limited at how you can handle the tougher fights. I especially found the 2v2 tournament the hardest with him because it kept giving me opponents that are relentless and the partner they give you isn't very useful. However the rest of the tournaments with him are easier because he can heal using Heat if he's at low health. Saejima and Kiryu's tournaments were much easier due to their movesets. When it comes to the Completion List, I think the toughest part is the tournament, and if one can get past that then the rest of the Completion List is just a matter of patience and some luck depending on the minigames you play. I found Pachinko to be the hardest of the gambling minigames but that's mainly because I understand it even less than Mahjong and there's RNG involved in it. I think playing the Virtua Fighter machine helped some since I at least got an idea of what was happening on screen. In the Aladdin machine I had no idea what was happening on screen so any indication of whether I was doing good or bad was lost on me. Using the cheat items can help too, but since it asks you to get 7,777 balls in one sitting there is still some luck involved. Other than that, I found the Driving Range and Pool to be the only other difficult minigames because for Pool you have to play the Advanced AI and while it wasn't as bad as Yakuza 3 or Kiwami's I still had to get lucky at a couple of points because once they got control they were able to sink consistent trickshots that I don't think any human that isn't a professional would be able to pull off. The Driving Range wasn't necessarily hard, but I had to get lucky with the wind gauge in order to put the shots in the hole since that makes completing the requirements easier. Luckily Mahjong this time around was forgiving since they only wanted you to get a certain amount of points. So I took advantage of the five Lucky Tiles I acquired and then used them all on the Hard table in the Mahjong building as payback for making me suffer through that minigame for five games a means to get it done in one go and get some extra cash from selling the Platinum Plates you can buy with the points The other gambling minigames weren't so bad. Normally I struggle with KoiKoi but I think thanks to playing it in the previous games and Sakura Wars I understood it a lot better. However getting the Platinum for this one also means that I now I have the Platinum in all the mainline games barring Yakuza 7 which hasn't been localized yet. It's been something of a journey since I initially thought I could only get the Platinum in Yakuza 6, but as I played the rest I started getting the Platinum for them including Fist of the North Star and so getting all of them feels like a great accomplishment due to the time and dedication I took for them, and despite getting frustrated with a lot of the minigames and other things I think I'll look back at getting them fondly, and not only with the Platinums but the games themselves since they are fantastic games on their own and I definitely put them down on a "must-play" sort of list. So even though Yakuza 7's gameplay is radically different I still look forward to playing that one and whatever other future titles they may have in mind. ?

Popular Post preciseRNG
#5 Maneater Platinum When I started the game I had a good amount of fun with it. It kind of reminded me on movies like Sharknado. I liked the idea of making the game and story like a TV-show but sometimes the live commentary got a bit annoying cause he would not stop talking at any time. The amount of actions and the areas are limited due to you being a shark. There is no big variations in missions as well as you can imagine. Therefore the game can get repetetive quite fast. The platinum is straight forward and I did not encounter any bugged trophy due to the latest patches. Edited July 1, 2020 by preciseRNG
Popular Post Darghel
#76 Done Done Done (Jak II) Difficulty: Very frustrating (Orb Glitch used) Time to Complete: About 13 hours Recommended: If you can use the glitch then maybe, but the game still remains frustrating Total Score: 4/10 First and foremost, I did use the orb glitch to get the 286 orbs because I tried legit at first but I got very annoyed at the challenges and how unfun they were, especially the shooting range ones. I heard the ps4 version was patched however I was able to make it work (with video and screenshot proof Here) so after finishing the game, and getting all the metalheads jewels, this was the last trophy required and I'm glad it's over. Because I have SO MUCH to say. Now, I did play this game back on my ps2, I was about 14, however I have very bad memories of this game and how difficult it was, but the problem wasn't the difficulty itself but how unfair and mean the game was. For starters, the game really felt stingy with checkpoints and forced me to replay the entire level from the start! Driving was atrocious, the driving model was simply bad so of course, they made a lot of races! And guess what? None of them was fun! There were turret sections too, not too many, but one too many in my opinion. And of course, we have escort missions and if you thought the first one was bad, well hope you're ready for escorting, not one, not two, but THREE people, complete with friendly fire, no checkpoints and if you shoot them instead of the enemies, THEY SHOOT BACK AT YOU! What... the actual....flying...GRRRR! I just can't believe how mean this game was: the levels were fairly short at least but dying would mean redoing the same EXACT part over, and over, and over, and OVER again! I was finishing the game last night and I must've restarted the underwater section with the Titan suit at least 10 times, because of course there are no checkpoints, of course there are enemies that take more than half of your hp, of course there's an oxygen bar that instantly kills you if it runs out, and of course you get to die a lot! The only reason why I wanted to finish this game, was for nostalgia and because when the game tried to be a platformer IT WAS FUN! But Jak 2 was so annoying even back then that it made me quit the series, even though I heard the third is much better. Bear in mind I was only 14, I didn't have much money to spend on games and this game discouraged me to buy the third, which could possibly be the best! I wasn't even thinking to platinum it but, after using the glitch, all I can say is literally "Done done and Done!" Onward to the third and hopefully it'll be a better ride! Popular Post Phlegeth
#37 True Warrior Obtained all of the "WARRIORS OROCHI 4" trophies. That was pretty fun. It was a tad easy. Chaotic Difficulty is not balanced for the expansion pack and rolling in with Max Level Zhurong, it was a lot easier than when I was going through the story normally. That said, some of the objectives and S Ranks were tight. I had to replay a couple levels and plan out a course of action.

Popular Post ZoutjeNL
#38 Fallout Shelter Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Fallout Shelter is a great Idle type game. The completion is in my opinion the easyiest of the idle games offered for Playstation. I do not use timeskips as I prefer to not complete them this way. There is only one really annoying trophy that can be a pain to get if you progress too quickly. For this trophy you have to stop 50 Raider attacks. I followed the suggestions and stopped at 29 population so the chance for these attacks were the largest. This still took me a good time of just hoping for attacks I assume this trophy took 35 hours alone. Overall a fun game that is free to play so why not give it a spin? #39 Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Asterix & Obelixx XXL 2 is a fun 3d type platformer where you play as both Asterixx & Obelix. I have played some Asterix games as a child which I really had fond memories of so I was really looking forward to this game. I found the beginning the most boring part of the game. Once you progress you unlock more abilities and some light puzzle elements are added to the mix. The game is a pretty short platinum it took me about 10 hours. Next to the story there are quite a few collectibles that are often pretty easy to find. Furthermore there are challenges where you need to get a gold rank. Once you unlock all abilities this is not that hard. My complaint is that I didn't like the music, the animations were not remastered so the quality was terrible and last but definitely not least... there are some really annoying enemies. Overall a decent game but there are better options if you are looking for a 3d platformer.

Popular Post DamagingRob
#462- L.A. Noire (PS4) Platinum Trophy Collect all other trophies to unlock. Such a shame Bondi went under after making this, because it's such an awesome game. It does feel a little rough around the edges now, though. Particularly in the shooting mechanics. And they give you a DLC trophy, which requires shooting two people driving cars before they stop and get out.. That was probably the hardest trophy, simply because of how many tries it took. But just have to find the right combination of luck and skill, I guess. I finally got it by using the machine gun from the trunk, but it was really just dumb luck at the end. Here's my successful run in action: Spoiler But other than that, it plays fine. I mostly drove myself during the story to rack up miles, and had to replay one case because of causing a bit too much damage. ? What can I say? It's in the name. But it's not too hard to get 5 stars on every case, even when driving yourself. Solving cases is where the real meat and interesting part of the game lies, and it is still as cool as it was 9 years ago. Gathering clues, interrogating suspects, and finding out what happened and who the culprit was. Not letting you skip cutscenes and dialogue on replays is kind of lame, though.. And then there are the collectibles. So many collectibles. Lol. The cars are probably the biggest nuisance. A lot of them look pretty similar, and you can't tell if it's a new one or not from a glance. I typically just jumped in as many as I could, while playing through. Left me with not too many to go after, and this video guide helped me find the rest: Spoiler The other collectibles aren't too bad, even with the remaster adding a couple of new sets. The fast travel system in this game is godly, so you can warp around the map and get them fairly quick. Just mark the spot on the map you want to go to, tell the A.I. to drive, and it'll transport you there in a flash. The A.I. can be pretty dumb, and get stuck places though. ? As you'll see in my Platinum image, he was nowhere near me, stuck clear on the other side of the map. Had to drive myself to the last few things. Platinum image: Spoiler Mmm.. biscuits. I'm sorry, what were we talking about? Thank goodness I have my turbo controller, as well. Didn't even use it for turbo this time; couldn't seem to tackle a guy with my DS4. It kept flipping to the bottom menu option on its own, too, so may need to start looking for a new one..
