Popular Post WayfarerFox
#164 - Yakuza 0 Difficulty: 6/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 So this isn't so much my most recent platinum but it's one that is worth writing about the most. I wasn't going to write anything but I was forced by someone to do it.? Just kidding. Well, what can I say about Yakuza 0 besides the fact that it literally is amazing. I think the series as a whole is criminally underrated but I think a lot of people are starting to realise that so it's good to see a lot more people playing it these days. My only ever other experience with Yakuza is I had the original back on the PS2 with the English Dub on it. I think it had the english dub on it anyway it was a long time ago. I also, played a tiny bit of Yakuza 3 back in the day too. So my knowledge isn't vast like everyone elses but I did like them back in the day. I got forced to buy this game by a good friend of mine. Literally forced and she can deny it all she likes but that's what happened haha. I'm glad she did though as it turned out to be a ridiculous amount of fun. Yakuza 0 is the very beginning of a long winded franchise. You play as probably the two most notorious characters of the game in Kiryu and Majima. Their origins if you like. You get to see Kamurocho with Kiryu and Sotenbori with Majima. The overall gameplay doesn't differ between the two characters bar a few things such as the cabaret, buying retail and most noticeably the combat. The three styles of fighting are amazing (there's a fourth for doing certain things) My favourites probably had to be Majimas Breakdance style. It's so quick and when you level it up a ton it can really hit hard and not give anyone a chance to even fight back. Kiryu my favourite was probably beast style. He's super slow but he's so strong and if there's anything that you can hit enemies with it's a joke really. I honestly don't think Kiryu has changed much throughout the series. He's always been this cool customer where Majima in the later installments always felt a little insane so it was a nice change of pace to see him calm in most circumstances. His attitude change makes sense now, it was the best way for his character. The basic story elements of the game are Kiryu is framed for murder so he joins a real estate company trying to clear his name. Majima you are in charge of a Cabaret trying to build his way back into joining the Yakuza. The game entwines these stories together very well where they meet in the middle and everything makes sense making it a really well written game in my opinion. There's a ton to do all over the cities that you are in. Doing all the sub-stories is a ton of fun. Although some may feel pointless, they're all pretty hilarious if you do them all. There's over 100 to do between both characters so there's plenty of stuff to do in the city when you need a break from the story. I think that's what makes these games ridiculously fun. It's really serious when you need it to be and then it can be ridiculously cheesy good fun at other times. There's plenty of things to do from going to the arcades playing all them classic 80s Sega games. Bowling, pool, darts, mahjong. There really is a ridiculous amount to do and in order to do the platinum trophy you do need to play through them all. My 2 favourites though are dancing in the club and the Karaoke. (Sit there and tell me 24-Hour Cinderella isn't catchy as hell) The biggest challenge in terms of trophies is 100% the completion book/guide whatever you want to call it. Entails getting 5mil score on some arcade games. Doing certain things in all of the Japanese board games etc which probably is the hardest thing about these games. The board-games can be rough. I'm in no way versed that well in any of the Japanese board games. In fact I suck and they are what caused me the most stress when filling out the completion guide. You need certain outs and pairings to make up the guide and if you have no idea like me you kinda just wing it. The guide on here is very well written and should shed some light on how to play but it's still really rough to pick up. Honestly, I could sit here all day and talk about all the good things about this game and it would bore everyone to death so it's a game you really should consider playing if you get the chance. It's a perfect place to start the series as well. If you're new and wanting to try it out. It makes sense to anyway. Oh and to add, I played co-op with a good friend of mine and she kicked my ass on everything so. Here's to you? Popular Post Slava
#13 - THE LAST OF US (PS3) It can't be for nothing My first Ultra Rare platinum! The game is great, but not perfect. It's well-written, well-directed, the voice acting is brilliant, the story is emotional and touching, the world-building is awesome. Looks great, sounds great. The music is outstanding and fits perfectly. You already know everything about this game, so I'll just share my thoughts about the gameplay. I think it could've been better. The gunplay is satisfying, the unique animations for melee weapons are very cool (like the backstab with a machete). But the stealth part is not that great. I tried to go full Solid Snake mode, but the game rarely allows you to go unseen. When it does, it's very cool, but often there is a garage door or a misplaced ladder at the opposite side of the room, so you can't escape without being seen. Sometimes, the room is too narrow, and even trying to fool the enemies with sounds doesn't work. Sometimes the game expects you to kill everyone before you can progress. The locations themselves are usually just corridors and arenas one after another. So when you see a more comlex place like the book store, it stands out. A few words about the Survivor difficulty. I actually expected it to be harder. I had trouble in 2 or 3 "arenas" where I died many time, but it mostly felt the same as Normal difficulty. The main difference, apart from the absense of Joel's hearing ability, is how few crafting materials the game gives you. I crafted like 2-4 things per chapter. And the medkits were usually given to me by Ellie. So the main reason you die on the Survivor difficulty so much is because you can't heal. And finally, an unpopular opinion: many people hated the MP mode in this game, but I enjoyed it a lot when I played it 2 years ago. I raged so much when I was being insta-killed by guys with knives ?, but the stealth kills and gunfights felt more intense and fun than in the singleplayer to me. Overall, I'd give TLOU an 8,5/10. Popular Post GoldenShaka
1 2 3 Uncharted The Lost Legacy Don't ruin the moment Very easy platinum, long enough with entertaining puzzles, some combat and the typical current ND approach to PC agenda, at least is somewhat subtle. While I was getting closer to the platinum I noticed how simple and enjoyable was that I decided to include it as part of my personal milestones. So considering that you get the in a 1 2 3, It's perfect as my platinum 1 2 3. Ok Ok I'm leaving.
Popular Post AJ_Radio
Going to post a very quick recap of everything I've done over the past 90 - 100 days, because virtually nobody cares about something I did months ago. Platinums #227 & #228 :Driveclub & Driveclub Bikes One of the premier racing games exclusive to the PS4. Had a great time with Driveclub. Glad to have not only 100 percented both, but also finished something that is now unobtainable. A fond and sad farewell to a company that no longer exists. Platinum #229 :The Messenger A very good NES era Ninja Gaiden style game, without the poor controls and terrible game mechanics. This was a real gem for me to play, however the trophy for making it through the dark cave without a light source was awful. Good music and visuals. Decent Metroidvania. Platinum #230 : Chasm While an alright Metroidvania, didn't find this one all that great. Graphics were okay and music was adequate. Fairly easy platinum. Platinum #231 : Horizon Chase Turbo This was definitely a surprise, considering this is an on rails racer which I thought was a completely dead genre back in the 2000s. The game is fast paced but a bit of fun to play, with definite old school appeal. Doing all 109 Endurance Races in one go was a stupid idea for a trophy, which called for USB/Cloud saving on my part. Overall it was enjoyable, not too easy, not too hard. Platinum #232 : Atari Flashback Classics Vol 1 Had this title sitting on my backlog and PS4 for the better part of two years, so I finally decided to tackle it. If it wasn't for USB/Cloud saving, this platinum would be literally impossible for me. Some of the trophies are a real pain in the ass, such as scoring 300,000 points in Yars Revenge... and winning a game of Warlords with no walls left. Beating level 81 in Tempest requires a lot of skill and commitment as well as necessary USB/Cloud saving. Definitely proud of this one, and the second sub 1 percent platinum I have earned. Platinum #233 :Tearaway I didn't particularly like this game at first, but I grew to enjoy it. Definitely a solid game for the PS Vita. Everything from motion controls to the camera was used wonderfully for this game. Not too hard of a platinum. Still need to tackle Tearaway Unfolded, although I've heard some people say it's not that good. Platinum #234 : Assassin's Creed III A game I generally regard as one of the weaker entries in the Assassin's Creed franchise. I was never a big fan of Connor. The story with Desmond Miles ended poorly. This is the only game where you are required to do everything for the platinum. Running around the map to uncover the fog and discovering the underground entrances for Boston and New York was completely tedious. The only real saving grace is the multiplayer was pretty easy and straightforward. Much of the single player was a chore, including recording the activities of your Homestead workers which shouldn't even be a trophy. Platinum #235 :Batman: Arkham City This was one of the first games I added to my profile when I was considering becoming a trophy hunter. Took me close to five years to finally get the platinum for this game. Coming from Arkham Knight to Arkham City definitely helped with things. I managed to get the combat challenges done without much effort. The predator challenges on the other hand are a real pain in the ass. Honestly I don't like stealth unless it was utilized well. On countless occasions enemies would suddenly turn around on me, or I would accidentally jump to a vantage point when an enemy saw me just prior. Top of the World (Extreme) was probably the worst predator map, with very little room for error. It will be a nightmare to get the six trophies tied to completing the Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing challenges, as well as their campaigns. Platinums #236 - 238 : Spyro the Dragon Trilogy A solid collection of the classic Spyro games remade and developed from the ground up for modern audiences. Nothing presented a challenge to me. Compared to the Crash Bandicoot trilogy, Spyro is far easier. For much of the games I had to collect gems as well as do some challenges, which were little more than doing a simple task for a NPC. A couple bosses took a number of tries but are very easily doable for any average gamer. Highly recommended and an enjoyable trilogy with three easy platinums to boot. Platinum #239 Assassin's Creed Liberation HD In terms of budget and score, this is easily the weakest entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise. There is absolutely nothing in this game that stood out to me. Being essentially a handheld game, there is quite the drop in quality and just overall gameplay. Aveline deserves credit as being the first playable female protagonist, but there is nothing about her that makes her great. The story itself was meh and rather forgettable. Changing clothes (Lady, Thief and Assassin personas) to suit a certain situation just became tedious. Good only if you plan to do the entire franchise. Platinum #240 Assassin's Creed Origins Bit of a shame I didn't get to post this as a status update in time, but I will spare the details for when I talk about this on my trophy thread. Origins in short is a solid entry, being easily the biggest Assassin's Creed game until Odyssey came along. The graphics are fantastic, the pyramids of Giza along with the sights of Alexandria were great, probably even more so on a 4K monitor with PS4 Pro. Bayek is understanding but a bit impulsive at times. His one time love and childhood friend Aya is sympathetic, but ultimately aims for the same goals. The story was more than I expected. Bayek's son was killed in a plot involving the Order of the Ancients, a group focused on gaining complete control over Egypt. Along the way confrontations arise and problems are presented in a fashion that requires Bayek to question local inhabitants of a select town/city. It was quite clear and obvious Origins was heavily inspired by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as there are many, many question marks scattered throughout the entire map and sprawl. I had to discover and complete every single one of those for a trophy. The side quests were little more than taking care of a little problem, certainly not nearly as good as The Witcher 3's sidequests which were all unique and captivating on their own. Easy platinum, but somewhat time consuming game that took me just under the 60 hour mark to platinum. The DLCs were pretty decent, with Curse of the Pharoahs introducing some rather exotic locations with ancient Pharoahs with which to do battle with. Highly recommended. Platinum #241 Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition I completed the original version of this game a few years back, so this is essentially the same game with all DLC included. A good game, but a bit overrated in my opinion. There are several things the developers could of done to make this better, such as skipping the dialogue whenever you are within pissing distance of a Captain or Warchief. Still need to tackle the DLC. Doing The Hunt is My Mistress was a pain in the ass the first time around, and I expect the same reaction when I tackle it again. Popular Post eigen-space
Platinum #116 - Gris Personal Growth, 55.00% Rarity Difficulty - 2/10, Time Spent - ~6 Hours , Enjoyment 8.5/10 Gris follows the journey of a girl as she navigates her way through an emotional journey. There isn't anything but praise that I can give for Gris (except for maybeeee it could have been longer). It's a beautiful game-- all of the imagery in the game looks to be handdrawn and painted with watercolors. And it's stunning! The music in this game is also very beautiful and goes very well with everything happening on screen. The gameplay is very smooth. The abilities in Gris are introduced throughout the game, with each level having a new one to play with. They're all implemented very well, too. Nothing is too complicated. Would definitely recommend picking this up. I paid $6 for it on sale and felt that was a good price point for the quality and content given by this game. Guest
Platinum #150: Final Fantasy XIII Difficulty: 5/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 Say what you want about the game, but it's one of my favorites. Arguably the best looking game of the PS3 generation with an incredible soundtrack and battle system. The lore of the world is incredible, but the story itself is infamously not perfectly told. It was my first final fantasy and it got me into the whole series. Enough about the game itself, the trophies were almost completely fine. Every trophy leading up to the big one (Trophy Hunter) was really enjoyable and presented a relatively challenging, if not a bit same-same, sequence of events. But dear fucking god Treasure Hunter should be illegal. The absolute worst part is that there's no way in-game to tell what stuff you have all had and have to use a third party source (I used both a website and a spreadsheet, shout out to http://xiii.redcrown.net). Even using that, I still apparently missed an item or two by the time I thought I was done and was desperately heartbroken. Thank Christ I had a previous save and was eventually able to narrow down the search but even then it was a blind guess as to what I was missing. One of the most tedious, time-consuming, mind-numbing trophies I've ever plowed through and I'm incredibly excited to have actually done it. The only reason my enjoyment rating wasn't 10/10 was because of this. I'm so glad the desperate desire to platinum this game is over with and am thrilled it was my #150. Popular Post Arcesius
I got this platinum a while ago, but haven't had the time to write a review yet... So, here it comes! Platinum #69 – Nioh 2 The Pitch Second installment of the incredibly fun and complex action RPG set in late 1500s Japan, with deep and satisfying combat that has you slay Humans and Yokai alike, and an addicting Diablo-esque loot system that will have you farm to create the perfect build. 100% Enjoyment 100% Challenge The Best: Without a doubt, the king in this game is the gameplay. You could tell the story of a piece of bread looking for cheese (wait... that does sound familiar… ?) and I still would find myself playing Nioh. The combat… Oh man, the combat... It's just so deep, so complex, so satisfying… And extremely varied, too. All weapons feel unique, and Nioh 2 also features two entirely new weapons. One of those, the Switchglaive, gotta be one of the most fun and unique weapons I've ever seen in a game. It could have easily been a weapon found in Bloodborne. A very technical weapon that is based around stance-switching mid-combo, which is both fun to play, and very stylishly looking ? There are a couple of new mechanics in Nioh 2 that were not present before, such as Burst-Counters, as well as a new way of customizing your build: You can now equip your Guardian Spirits with up to three Soul-Cores, which are dropped from enemies. These grant additional passive perks to your character, and add yet another level of diversity to your build. And speaking of which… Character customization is still as flexible as ever, if not more. Nioh 2 introduces several new mechanics that allow for even more personalization than before. And even if you don't care about carefully putting your build together… Heavy Armor and an Axe in high stance will still get you through the game (but it might be an extremely boring way to play). The Worst: There honestly aren't too many things that I could criticize about Nioh 2… But I can think of one: The bosses. It's not like the huge Yokai aren't imposing and threatening the first time you encounter them at the end of a main mission, but most bosses in Nioh 2 can then later be encountered as regular enemies (similar to Ornyoki in the original Nioh). This isn't all too big of an issue during your first playthrough, as the bosses are usually introduced with a nice sequence and you haven't fought them before… but especially on subsequent playthroughs, those boss fights lose everything that makes them stand out. A shame, really. The Challenge: This is probably the most disappointing aspect of the game for me personally. Maybe it has to do with the roughly 190h I spent with Nioh, but the game could have been a bit more difficult. And I certainly wasn't using OP builds or anything like that … I didn't touch Sloth at all, I didn't use Carnage… and sure, the main challenge in the original Nioh was the DLC and the Way of the Demon missions, and maybe that's what I was falsely expecting from Nioh 2… but still, I still think that the base game is easier than Nioh's base game. Anyways, as mentioned above, using an Axe in High Stance, a Spear or an Odachi, the game becomes very, very easy (too easy). Using Omnyo-Magic makes the game even more of a walk in the park. But even with my preferred way of playing, Dual Swords and Saturation, the game really isn't too demanding. That doesn't mean that it isn't fun… it is an absolute blast! ? And I really am looking forward to the DLC! If you enjoyed the first game… give this one a go. It improves upon the original in every way possible. Popular Post Akeachi
#19 & 1000th trophy milestone Bloodborne Enjoyment : 10/10 Difficulty : 3/10 (personally) Time for 100% : 20h This is my favourite PS4 game and possibly my favourite game of all time so I couldn't resist but to make it a milestone? I just like everything about it, the story, the soundtrack, the atmosphere, the hole style of the game is so freaking cool. It was actually the reason I bought a PS4 since I originally had an XB360 and played DS1&2 so I really wanted to play this and I wasn't disappointed. I just can't give this game enough credit, if you still haven't played this game you're really missing on a lot! In terms of 100% difficulty imo it's the easiest souls game to 100%. You only have to kill all the bosses, collect all weapons & tools, finish the chalice dungeons and get all the endings (which is easy) For the chalice dungeons I really recommend using this guide, I've been able to finish the chalice dungeons in about 6h using this As for builds I recommend either a Bloodtinge build using the Chikage (which is what I did) or an arcane build with the Saw Cleaver
Popular Post Golem25
Platinum #63 - Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD (Vita Version) Shiny Moolah - Get all other Trophies. 46,700 Owners - 2,136 Achievers for a percentage of 4.57% (average completion; 12.25%) Enjoyment; 9/10 Difficulty; 4/10 Trophies; 7/10 (Good names, tiles mostly recycled from game art - some fun challenges involved) Appetite for more bounty hunting; 10/10 Full review in my Trophy checklist This is a game I've played on PS3, buying it on release day back in 2012. I loved it to bit, an insanely underrated experience, a true hidden gem, and one that I was happy to revisit over 8 years later by buying the Vita version and doubling up on the Trophy list. Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is a mix of 3rd and 1st person action, with players being able to switch between perspectives with the click of a button (or in the Vita's case, double-tapping the front touch screen). In third person, the titular player character of Stranger, a bounty hunter of enigmatic origin, has increased mobility by being able to sprint on all fours and jump much higher and farther. He also has expanded melee options when playing in that perspective, but these are nowhere near as deadly as the crossbow he whips out in first person; using an ingenious system of literally live ammo, Stranger can scavenge small creatures that appear throughout the world to use as ammunition. Bolamite spiders to wrap up bounties, Stingbees to act as a powerful machine gun, Chippunks that screech and lure enemies to their position, Stunkz that paralyze foes with their gas, Zappflies that power generators and decrease the stamina of foes they hit, and a fair few more critters that all have their own strengths and weaknesses. But seriously, you spend the game shooting live cute, cuddly animals at criminals; that's hardcore, bro. Because Stranger's crossbow is double-barrel, he can load and fire two types of critter at the same time (one with the L and one with the R shoulder buttons) and change them out on the fly (with down on the d-pad). Lord knows the player needs to be able to do this, because the game is about hunting bounties, who are worth more alive than dead. As such, after fighting through gauntlets of mooks (who themselves can be bountied too) the player is faced with the main bounty in a boss arena; good ammo management and strategy is needed to bag a given bandit alive. The game presents you with eleven bounties to collect from the bounty store, and that only takes you halfway through the game up to the point where the stories starts twisting and turning. The Platinum journey was an enjoyable one, much like how it was in 2012. You have to play on Hard for the difficulty Trophies, and while that mode is definitely unbalanced, it didn't break my enjoyment of the game. Rather, it enhanced the second playthrough, which can be done on Easy and is recommended for mopping up the single best Trophy in the game - Mo Moolah (I've explained the brilliance of this Trophy in the 'Last Trophy you earned' thread). Honestly, if you have a PS3 and/or Vita, grab this one - I don't believe the story or the Platinum will let you down, despite how old the game is beneath its polished veneer. The fact that I bought and played Stranger's Wrath twice despite it not being the shortest or easiest Plat underlines that recommendation. Popular Post Carol
#192 and 10000th trophy: The Last of Us: Part II Every Last One of Them Collect all trophies I was in a "Wow" state of complete marvel the whole time I was playing this game. This is the best cinematic game I've ever played. It's like you're the protagonist of a super cool action movie, where everything is so dynamic and fluid and there are always things happening around you! At least in terms of gameplay, this game is everything I could have hoped for and so much more! I also love how long it is! It's like we're asking for one game and, instead, Naughty Dog gave us two fantastic games united in one! The attention to detail is also amazing; when you're upgrading a weapon, for example - something that is automatic in most games - you literally see your character modifying the weapon in front of you! We all know that this game is getting a lot of anger because of its story choices. It's, undeniably, a very sad, dark and depressive story. I will even say that if you're depressed, you shouldn't play this game, because the end really leaves you with a heavy heart and state of mind. This game affects you. I would like to share some more reflections about the story, but there will be, obviously, spoilers: Spoiler Joel - There's not much to say about Joel, because he dies very early in the game. The fact that I loved the game doesn't mean that I liked his death. Joel is my favourite video game character and my most beloved (anti-) hero. I always loved how strong and brave he is, but, at the same time, so emotional! What girl doesn't like that? I understand that people are angry, especially because Joel literally saves Abby's life and then she couldn't overcome her anger and ends up killing him in a brutal way. I think Joel knew his death was coming, sooner or later, and, probably not in the most pleasant way. He isn't innocent and he knows it. That's, probably, why Ellie's forgiveness is so important to him. He just decided not to live in fear or anxiety and to continue his work for his community, while he was still capable of doing it. Such a brave man wouldn't hide, right? He is so quiet at the end, because I think he chooses to do something that takes Ellie a long time to do: he accepts what he can't change. Abby - Everyone hates Abby, right? Well, I have to say that when the game put me in control of Abby right at the beginning I felt something click and, at that moment, I knew I was going to like the game. That click remained there for the entire game and never really happened with Ellie, to be honest. I don't hate Abby. Joel had many enemies and Abby was just one of them. If she wasn't the one who killed him, it would be someone else... I actually think that Abby was a very likeable character. Her section of the story is much more interesting than Ellie's, because you are actually doing something meaningful for someone. With Ellie, you're just killing people... So, yeah, I liked Abby and I connected with her. It hurt seeing what the Rattlers did to her and she was a character that I didn't want to hurt, at the end. She already went through enough. We killed her father in the first game, she literally lost all her friends, because of Ellie's actions and I think it's time for her to have peace. For people that think that Ellie should have killed her, I ask: Are you kidding me? What type of person are you? Can't you have some compassion? Ellie: I think that the first part of the game should have been done better, in terms of exploring Ellie's trauma more. With Abby, the game continuously show us the nightmares that she has regarding her father's death, even after she killed Joel. With Ellie, we see her consumed with anger and spiraling out of control; we see her hands shaking when she's about to open a door, but I think we should have seen more of her pain and how she is affected by Joel's death. That is only shown in the last part of the game. Maybe because of this, I could never connect with Ellie very well. When I arrived at the aquarium, as Abby, and found my dog and all my friends killed, I wanted to go after Ellie too! I think she deserved that beating! With Ellie, we're just commiting atrocities, in the name of revenge... I hated Tommy, for pretty much forcing Ellie to go to Santa Barbara to search for Abby again. At least, she ended up saving her, but I don't think that peace Ellie was having with Dina and the baby at the farm shouldn't have been disturbed. When she comes back, she seems better mentally, at least. She finds the house empty. Dina is no longer there and she doesn't even seem surprised, because she doesn't even call her name. I think she still has some hope, because there will be no point in coming back if she didn't. She goes upstairs, she grabs her guitar, that was a gift from Joel. She starts playing, but she realizes she can't do it like before, because she lost two fingers in her fight with Abby. She remembers her final conversation with Joel, puts down the guitar, grabs her backpack and leaves, although the guitar, the house and the farm never leave the screen... For me, the main theme of this story is letting go. How hard it is to let go... That if you are too attached to an idea or to something or to someone you lost, you'll end up losing much more in the process... And how to recover from that? How to take control of your life again? We should treasure the things that we have in the present and if you have something to solve, then solve it now. From these three characters, I think only Joel could achieve this. This was a long post and to end on a more positive note, I would like to share my platinum screenshot. I, somehow, missed this journal entry both times I played the game, but it turned out to be a good thing, because at least, I could get the platinum on what was a brighter day for Joel and Ellie and, probably, the most beautiful chapter in the game:

PondNewt
12 hours ago, ChunkyKong64 said: Platinum #150: Final Fantasy XIII Difficulty: 5/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 Say what you want about the game, but it's one of my favorites. Great work. I really liked Final Fantasy XIII as well despite the general reception not being very good. I actually have a mannequin dressed up cosplay style for my favourite character Vanille if you can believe it. At some point in the future I hope to return to the game and clean up some of the trophies as I last played it years ago when I had no interest in trophy hunting. Not sure if I'd go for the platinum though as it sounds pretty hard.

Popular Post WayfarerFox
#168 - The Evil Within Difficulty: 3/10 (Akumu 8/10) Enjoyment: 9/10 This game is probably a hit or miss for a lot of people but for me it's a hit. I don't even know how to give it a quick overview because it's so trippy and weird. You play as a Detective named Sebastian. Himself, alongside his partner Joseph and Rookie Detective Kidman have been called to Beacon Mental Hospital. What you find inside will change your life forever and then some. That literally all you can say on the matter in terms of story. Everything else to do with the game is a rollercoaster. It's hard to put together and can be quite hard to follow if you're not fully paying attention. I do have an issue with the story though not in terms of what it is but rather to fully grasp the story you do have to play the two DLCs Assignment and Consequence. You will not get the overall plot from the base games which I thought was a bad way of marketing for the game. Sure if people loved it enough they'd buy the DLC and get the full story and it would make sense but to the casual players they'd play the story and still feel like they have no clue what's going on. It's not something you should play if you're squeamish. It's pretty gory and really well done considering the game was basically designed on the PS3. I find the blood funny on this game though. It's more jam looking than actual blood. Gameplay is your typical third person survival horror. You get a ton of weapons as you go through the game and you can unlock them with Green gel to make yourself stronger. Carry more ammo etc. It's a nice effect to add into the game. There's a nice little green gel farm on chapter 3 in NG+ as well which you can use for 100k green gel. This post is going to be short, there really isn't much I can say without going into detail or giving away key points within the game. All I'll say is, go into it with an open mind. No distractions because you can get lost in no time and check your corners. It's pretty frustrating running into enemies, traps and other stuff so be careful. The platinum is a pretty difficult one, well one trophy is but that's needed for the platinum. The platinum essentially needs 3 playthroughs. The first one you want to try and go through without using your green gel on anything and completing it while collecting as much green gel and collectibles as you can. On the second playthrough you want to try and rush the game and complete it within 5 hours. Which is pretty tough if you forget some sections or bosses etc. My 5 hour trophy time was 4:52 so I only had 8 minutes to spare and I've played this game a ton of times. Definitely were sections I could of done better but still done it and last but not least, Akumu. It's borderline 1 hit kill mode. You need to be so careful with this mode. Avoid the motion sensor traps. The dial moves way too fast on Akumu and will most likely blow up more than collect parts. Enemies are tougher, still quick and nothing different about them. They just take longer to take down and they hit much much harder. I think it's been noted that the start of Chapter 6 can be a pain but you can literally bait them round the area constantly but the hardest chapter for me is Chapter 10. All of it is pretty rough. If you can get past that chapter you're in the clear honestly. All in all. This is a great game and if you're a fan of survival horror and have never played this game. Give it a go. Some sections in the game remind me a lot of Resident Evil 4 and we all know most people love that game.
Popular Post Rias Gremory
Marvel's Spider-Man Platinum #126 Enjoyment: 10/10 Trophy Success: 100% Action and Chaos: 10/10 Where do I begin? Marvel's Spider-Man was intense, certifying, alot of grind and most of enjoyment. I had to put in alot of effort and grinding into the game immensely. The collectibles weren't tough to followed, had to undo the police antenna scanners across NY to see the pattern and locations for all collectibles, took me a few hours to straighten everything out, got all bags, stop all criminal activities, Bring Harry Osborn's plans to success and fruition. Saving Mankind as many as I can. When I look at the reviews for this game and it has shown awesome results and mark this game as a highlight perfection. I gonna admit I love this game and really gave my 120% of my all and power. The DLC trophies were fantastic and it had alot of fun missions and sneaking in whatnot. This is a truly masterpiece game and brought this to huge success. I'm really proud of what I did and made it this far and i'm not gonna lose and give up. Popular Post EIdain
Platinum #51 + 100% - Assassin's Creed OdysseyEpic Cycle Following Ghost of Tsushima's state of play I was in the mood to play something kind of similar - an open world action game. I hadn't played an Assassin's Creed game since Black Flag so I'd been curious to see how much the franchise has shifted following on from Origins. I think some changes are for the better and some for the worse. I very much enjoyed the new abilities added to the game through the skill tree, even if a few of them are so strong there good enough to carry you through the majority of the game. I much preferred the old style of traversal and platforming when the world was designed around it and it required some thought. I'm kind of surprised they're still sticking with the present day portion of the series because at this point it's even more forgettable than it was back when Desmond was around. However I do like getting sucked into the historic world even deeper now that the game is a sprawling RPG. The writing is passable, but still leaves a bit to be desired to bring it up to the level of some of the best games in the genre, there's very little subtlety or nuance to Kassandra (I couldn't bare playing as Alexios as the VO for him is awful). It's a shame that the main plot kind of fizzles out toward the end too. The game definitely suffers from bloating as well, there's a lot of systems that don't serve much purpose (conflict battles, mercenaries), and the world is a little too big too. I'm hoping Valhalla is a bit more streamlined. It also makes me wish I'd played Origins as from what I hear the narrative is much better in that one. The first DLC is kinda of 'meh'. It's basically more of the base game, doing little to evolve the gameplay. The second DLC is much better, features 3 new locations and mixes the gameplay up a bit more. I'd have probably enjoyed it a bit more if I wasn't so burnt out, I was skipping dialog frequently by the end.Enjoyment: 7/10 - Good fun, but outstays it's welcome.Difficulty: 1/10 - No difficulty trophies, only 1 missable, easy if you enjoy the game enough to see it through.Playtime: My save file finished at 137 hours, including DLC. The platinum isn't really hard as much as time consuming, The most challenging are the missions but if you max out your characters they're all pretty easy. If you do go for it, for God's sake use a checklist/spread sheet or that link that I posted in order to keep track.
Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
Platinum trophy No. 175! A new milestone! Gravity Rush It's all relative I've just completed the series with the very first game, and both the titles as milestones! I played the entire series three years ago, and it was nice going back into a game that I really liked. I appreciated everything of these games (well, almost everything! ): the characters, a power that let you manipulate gravity (seriuosly, I was waiting for someone in the game who could add the Newton's Law of Gravitation during a cutscene, maybe Dusty saying this: F = G x (M x m) / r^2)... And Kat's reactions... I know, I'm crazy!), the soundtrack (of course! ), the overture animation on Youtube (a bridge between the two games), the ending of the second game. The first game is really good and fun, and also not really long (which could be boring), while the second has better graphics, two new powers (Lunar and Jupiter gravity!), online challenges (like the "treasure hunter" pictures, but now they're closed ), and (unfortunately) a huge amount of terrible sidequests (I remember there was something like... 50 sidequests? It was the only thing that I hate of this game). I'm also surprised that the Vita platinum is rarer than the PS4 remastered. I didn't find it really difficult, especially ihe challenges, since I managed to complete all of them during the chapter 13-14 without a full upgraded Kat (except the challenge in the Ruins Plain of the Maid DLC. Here I really needed a tier 6 special powers in order to defeat all the enemies and reach 22.000 points). I found really atrocious the gravity slide commands, probably I'm really bad with this skill, but I managed to beat theses challenges. And the platinum screenshot where everything began! Too bad we need to wait the PS5 in order to see a new "Gravity Rush 3"...
