Popular Post Jounochi
Platinum #165 - Our World Is Ended (PS4) I really, REALLY wanted to like this VN because there is so much that is done right, but it falls flat on its' face and became a game that was a pain to work through. Straight off the bat, the game greets you with an amazing soundtrack and beautifully drawn characters. Every character is well done and felt unique to the game. The music is varied and is reminiscent of the Persona 4/Catherine soundtrack. The menus are amazing, super stylized and contains features that are actually useful if you are chasing the platinum. The story is where this VN trips up, and I think I started skipping at around chapter 2 because I was so bored. In the prologue, the story is slightly fan servicey, however, it builds an interesting world and through chapter 1. After chapter 1 it is all downhill because every other line is about tits and ass. There were legitimate issues that the cast had to deal with but it felt like there would be side tangents that would last literal hours with the cast bickering and talking about breast sizes. This was an impulse buy for me and I somewhat regret it. At least it looks and sounds nice. Enjoyment: 2/10 Platinum Difficulty: 1/10

Popular Post Ala-Arska
Cat Quest II Pawlatinum You are pawsome! One more pun, and the Universe would've been pooched. So many, many cat and dog related word plays. Be still, my heart. So, this was a joint effort between me and my youngest son. He got a Plat in the first one a while back, and wanted to play this one with me By all means, my boy. By all means. More stuff to do and to find than in the first Cat Quest, lots of haa haa-funny humour, easy gameplay. An excellent choice for anyone looking for a light-hearted action RPG, pick-and-play style Wow, managed to make it through without any animal-related puns. Dogged that bullet LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 (PS Vita) All Finished! Acquire all trophies Look, it's a Russian doll inside a doll. Inside a doll. Inside a doll. Inside a doll. Inside a matryoshka doll. My second Plat of the day. And the worst LEGO game I've ever played. Plainly put, this title f**king sucks. Many things to complain about, but to name a few... One: glitches. Most common one was when my spell turned to water sprout and got locked there, preventing me to proceed in story Two: frame rate dropping to close to zero. This happened far too often. Reminded me of PS3 Fallouts and Skyrim, when a save file was big enough, everything would stutter until the game froze. Only this was far more annoying. Three: spells backfiring on me. Nice to try to destroy blocks, when my own levitation spells hits me and I'm stuck for a few seconds. Forever, seems. Four: shitty controls. Choosing a spell is a hassle, and there's sometimes a lag when doing so. I miss using my fists. In hitting stuff, I mean Five: level ending screen music. Not magical at all, felt like I was in a Resident Evil Save Room instead. Six: some voice jibbers are way off, even if they are just jibbers. Hermione sounds like a bodybuilder in a dress. Hard to get that from your head... Seven: it's just no fun at all. A bland compilation of stuff that happened in some wizards & warriors movies. DumbleBORED out of my mind. You've seen me whining enough. Now, here's some Moaning instead That was just scratching the surface (look, I did manage to make a cat pun!). PS3 & PS4 versions are waaay better than this. Avoid LEGO Harry Potter 5-7 on Vita like plague. Unless you, really, really want to complete the whole set

Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 Similar to the first game, I enjoyed this one a lot. The world, the characters as well as the story. Especially the last chapter left me speechless. However, getting the Platinum was truly annoying. Most of the side missions were boring and felt like a chore rather than something enjoyable. :/ Challenges weren't too hard but some were just plain stupid. Popular Post Rias Gremory
Platinum #152 Nightmares from the Deep 3: Davy Jones Common: 81.85% Difficulty: 2/10. Enjoyment: 9/10. Puzzles and Mahjong: 3/10. Challenge: 6/10. Platinum Time: 9 hours and 10 minutes. Wow just wow. To be honest, this one here I love a real good challenge. I enjoyed the HO Objectives and it was went really well. Mahjong wasn't much needed as to do 3 rounds in HO. Yes there were collectibles to be exact, At least 3 or 4 different pieces for each trophies. Got everything done by the book. It took bit of grinding, timing and patience to go place to place. I am very proud that I done most of the legwork of Artifex Mundi games, the rating I would say at least 85% which is better then I expected. I can now get serious and burn out all other easy platinums to get 199 platinums for my 200th ??? Platinum Milestone. My Next Platinum will be: ??? Popular Post PooPooBlast
#145 Modern Warfare 2 Remastered MW2 which is my favourite COD, will always hold a special place in my heart due to it being the first COD I played back in 2012 and platted in 2013. The campaign is as good as I remember it to be with all the cinematic and over the top action set-pieces and locales that the game puts you in. Add on top, a solid story with memorable twists where grown men cried and you got yourself a blockbuster experience! I easily spent hours in the museum level back then and also spent a decent amount in the remastered messing around with the cheats and different weapons. The team at Beenox did a really good job at enhancing the visuals of the game by supporting HDR and increased resolution. On top, there were a few subtle changes to the animations that weren't there in the previous game which again added to the quality of the overall package. Finally, just a tip for those who have yet to play the game and are going for the Immortal Trophy: Resuming a mission from the main menu after quitting because you had to go for whatever reason, counts as a checkpoint! I was scratching my head when the trophy didn't pop when I beat the campaign and I remembered I clicked resume game in the cliffhanger mission in which the trophy popped after I completed it. Anyway, I highly recommend this game for anyone who's yet to play MW2 and here's to hoping MW3 gets remastered as well so we can have the entire trilogy on PS4. Popular Post starcrunch061
Plat #403: Hollow Knight Heart of Hallownest Acquire all other trophies From the outhouse to the penthouse. I recently platted Kotodama, and it was one of the worst games I've ever played. So here, I present Hollow Knight, one of the single best games of this, and possibly any, generation. In fact, this might be the best metroid-style game that I have ever played. So many things go right for Hollow Knight, and so few things go wrong. The art style is stunning. The story is good, but boring dialogue is kept to a minimum. Levels are designed well, and set up to make you want to go back and re-explore with new abilities. I particularly like the color changes that appear; it helped me remember what I had seen and what I hadn't. A lot of people bemoan the fact that this game is dark and murky; I think they didn't play enough. Colors are vibrant in some areas. But the real mountain-topper is the pinpoint combat. I had complained a bit about the float-y nature of jumping, and that's certainly present. But when you get new combat abilities, suddenly, even that is OK. Your hero's "nail" makes an awesome weapon, and over time, he'll learn a variety of magic abilities as well. I can't really say much to the magic - I played pretty melee for the game. Added to that are certain charms. You can equip 4 of them, and this really let's you experiment with various fighting styles, finding one that suits you. Bosses abound, and they all have their own quirks and whatnot. You can fight remixed versions later, and re-remixed versions in a very long (and somewhat frustrating) set of boss rushes in the post-game. They look great, they fight great, and they're loads of fun. My only real gripe is the existence of these boss rushes. They add a rather artificial difficulty to the game. You have to beat somewhere in the neighborhood of 42 consecutive bosses (though you do get opportunities in between some battles to refresh health. If you lose at, say, 37, you start back at 1. I never like things like this.I would have much rather they made more use of their "bindings" (handicaps you can place on yourself to make battles harder). For example, fighting, say, the Pure Vessel with 4 handicaps would have been quite difficult, but would not have had the frustration of fighting the very first bosses, again and again, as you make your way up the boss rush ladder. A word has to be said about the invincibility glitch. It sucks. And worse, it sucks because I used it. I could give a litany of excuses here for why I did this, but honestly, they all ring...hollow. I continue to have the utmost respect for those hunters who were able to ascend the Pantheon of Hallownest prior to the glitch. My hat is off to you! For those who might not have played this game, do yourself a favor and get it.

Popular Post Leon Castle
#178 Kill la Kill: IF 12th Aug 2020 Based on Kill la Kill the anime and the game's storyline takes place during the events of episode 3, depicting Satsuki being placed by Junketsu in artificial reality that follows the anime storyline with slight deviations, The game was easy and fun except for one part(clear Ryuko VS. the damn clones and the original goddamn Nui Harime with a S rank). #179 Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris 23rd Aug 2020 Sequel to Fatal Bullet(at least the Kirito Mode part of it). Only part of it that is like anime(which most game news sites talked a lot about at least that what I felt about it) but ended up just being a longer and bit boring Kirito Mode (if not for the Medina parts and the Gameverse take on the ending aka no one died, it would feel like a damn recap). The game felt almost like a fusion of the Hollow games(only a bit better combat system), Lost Song's play as other characters(and it helps with the proficiency go up a bit faster if the character has lower proficiency then Kirito) and the Whip was more or less a replacement of the "Grappling Gun" from Fatal Bullet but needs to be equipped as it's a weapon. I be back for the DLC even if it don't have trophies like Fatal Bullet did. #180 Granblue Fantasy: Versus 27th Aug 2020 Based on the mobile game Granblue Fantasy. RPG mode takes place some time after the fall of the Erste Empire and events involving archangels and Belial(at least what I understand from Djeeta's 1st DLC quest ending) the World of Granblue Fantasy faces a new crisis as the fallen Erste Empire returns... I liked how it was both a fighting game and a RPG, it reminded me a bit of Soul Cailbur III(that also had a RPG kind of mode). Might go and get the rest of the arcade pics one day, but for now I wait until I get season 2 character pass before I do more of RPG mode and Arcade mode . This would be a nice plat screenshot or Zooey's victory screen for that matter but no had to "pop" the moment I kicked Beelzebub's ass one last time.
Popular Post Godo Fwar
#346 - Blasphemous The Penitent One Unlock all of the Trophies. Going for the plat was a bit of a pain. Had to follow a guide for practically the entire playthrough (and a half) as there were tons of missable trophies. And beating all bosses without using your health flasks made the game much harder than it needed to be.

Popular Post Viper
#198 South Park: The Fractured But Whole More Powerful than you Think As someone who still watches South Park every season. I always preferred when they did the Superhero thing over the Fantasy stuff. Coon & Friends episodes were some of my favorites. But...this game wasn't better than Stick of Truth. It's still good, they tried to take a slightly different type of RPG approach to this game, which I can appreciate the creativity. But being limited to squares you have to stay in, plus having to play the game on a harder difficulty (playing as a Black character makes the game harder. Yep...Matt and Trey went there lol), really makes you feel limited at times. Story was classic South Park though. But the thing that brings the score down for me...is the end. Or...what I kept thinking was the end. Around the time you make it to Mephisto's Lab, the game plays in such a way that you feel like you're at the big climax, but there was still SIX HOURS of the game left for me, there were a good 6-7 more major battles I had to do past this point. It felt like they were going for an EPIC ending where everything is stacked against you, but you're kind of left feeling like it's too much...I got to a point where I wasn't impressed anymore, I just wanted it to be over.Overall, if you like South Park, or you liked Stick of Truth at least...this game isn't quite as good, but still worth playing. I still welcome a third game.
Popular Post Intoner_Zero
Plat #151- The Sinking City This was an okay game. It's been a while since I've read Lovecraft so most of the details, nods, and inspirations felt vaguely familiar. So anyway, you just basically run all over Oakmont (which is wetter than Seattle and not as weird, heh) being somebody's errand boy (i.e DETECTIVE WORK lol) trying to find the cause of madness that's been afflicting various people, yourself included, as the character Charles Reed. You can really just hit all the story missions, along with some side mission objectives and choice outcomes, to simply nab the plat. There's a good amount of side cases to do and most aren't needed for plat, but I did a good amount of them for fun anyway. Monster enemies pop up when you're trying to investigate places; you can either run around trying to avoid them or waste them with your guns, traps, and bombs. You'll have to make these out of materials you can find throughout the city and these are also given as rewards when you complete main/side cases. You can also gain experience and once you hit the max over and over again, you'll gain skill points to be used in the skill sections (kinda like Weapon/Stats/Inventory Upgrades). Along with a health bar there's also a sanity bar, which drops down if you're around enemies too long and you make use of your Mind's Eye ability to uncover supernatural clues and events. Never got it depleted, so I don't know if a Game Over would have happened if it did. Didn't really have any outstanding issues with performance. Sometimes movement felt a little lag, other times it ran like pure butter. Of course, there's the funny model boo boos (like someone holding a book, but their hand is right through the book lol), but whatever. All in all, okay. There were some creepy stuff, sure, but I felt that things should have been more . . . grosser? Idk, maybe that's my preference.
Popular Post Shrooba
Platinum #35 Legendary Phantom Thief - Persona 5 Absolutely fantastic game. After platting Persona 5 Royal, I knew I had to get the vanilla version and play through this too, especially for that steelbook. Great music, great gameplay, and a fantastic story that all leads to an amazing 100+ hour experience. Seeing the compendium reach 100% after fusing all those Personas was so satisfying, and the secret NG+ boss was a great final challenge. One of the best games of all time in my opinion, and with the new Royal version out, I hope many people give the game a shot! Whew, what a good game.

Popular Post Redgrave
#190: The Phenomenal Phantom Thief - Persona 5 Royal I was glad to see that Persona 5 got its own Golden edition with this release. Seeing all the extra changes early on was neat, and then seeing the bigger changes near the end was really great to experience. Without spoiling anything, I like that they added more minigames to help out with stats and to hang out with Confidants, the Showtime mechanic to see how the party members team up to take down enemies, and the best one for me is the changes to Mementos by introducing the character Jose (pronounced Joe-zay) who has you collect stamps to trade so you can change the cognition in Mementos for extra Experience Points, money, and items. It encourages you to explore more and definitely made the money and Exp grind a lot better especially once you learn the insta-kill move from Ryuji. Definitely an improvement over fighting the Reaper on a flu day and using Sandman to Confuse certain mini-bosses into tossing money your way The story changes/add-ons were great to see too. The bonus dungeon was really great to explore along with the final boss music. I definitely would consider this the definitive experience but I still would encourage someone to play the original Persona 5 if only to see all the differences between the two.
