Popular Post Phantochi
#204 - Final Fantasy XV Fun game with great atmosphere and characters. It's at the same time not your classic Final Fantasy game, but still keeps a true Final Fantasy feel to it. A big key feature in FFXV is the exploration, and i must say it has been crafted very well, the dungeons you can find are among the best in the series and are a blast to go through. The linearity of the story was a little troublesome at times but it was a feat overcome due to the amazing battles across this epic world. An issue for me was the story's length, as with Final Fantasy games you're normally engaged for an average of 50 hours, and this is the time it took me to get the platinum, with the story itself being half of that time. Another issue related to story is that some characters felt rushed, like Luna for example, also the end chapters felt super rushed, almost as if each chapter were wrote by a different person, but it was still a good story, with a good ending, i even cried a little by the end. The characters are the best part of this game, the characters that inhabit this world are some of the most interesting in the series yet with Noctis being a definite standout among the others, your party members are also great companions, in fact they are part of the story, their relashionship is the main plot since the beggining and Square Enix did this so well, too bad you need to play the dlc's to know more about them, but there's enough in the main game to keep you interested in them. Wrapping this up, i would rate Final Fantasy XV an 8/10. The game is truly one of the best of the series and a welcome return to the franchise, can't wait for XVI

Popular Post ShonenCat
Platinum #67 - Shenmue II Difficulty Rating 4/10 Enjoyment Rating 8/10 Uncommon - 41.74% In this direct sequel, Ryo Hazuki travels to Hong Kong, continuing his journey to hunt down Lan Di, lay the smackdown on him and avenge his father’s death. It is a “revenge epic” that may never end at this point. The series director Yu Suzuki claims that the first three games cover about 40% of Ryo’s story. Jesus Christ, we’re gonna be here for a whole century before we ever find out what happens. Shenmue is a pretty important franchise in terms of what would go on to spark more ambitious open world games after it, but it is still filled with rich history and is an important milestone that shouldn’t go ignored. But it’s not really a story that needs to be told through video games. I kind of wish an anime would come out and finish up the story already. Several mediums exist in order to tell the rest of the story, and since Yu Suzuki admits he doesn’t enjoy playing video games shows he is not fit to lead a modern game development team in order to tell the rest of Shenmue’s story. Otherwise you’re left with a very dated formula that cheapens the experience. I am of course referring to Shenmue III in this matter. Shenmue II is as great as the first game. It plays exactly the same, only now the open world is much larger with much more going on in it. All your moves and such transfer over from the first game if you still have the save data. It is still very much an early concept of the Yakuza series. There is a phrase I like to say every now and then, and that is “Shenmue walked so Yakuza could run.” I still very much believe that. For the time Shenmue II came out, you can instantly tell right away this sequel was super expensive to make during the time of its release. It must of been a real treat for any Dreamcast owner (or Xbox if you’re in NTSC regions). The platinum is super straight forward and you only have to go off the beaten path sometimes. This game is much larger in scale than what the trophy list would have you believe.. but hardly anyone nowadays would have the time to explore the massive world to discover every secret and line of dialogue ? It is a game that encourages exploration, and I can really appreciate that. The game has two large city hubs to explore and one final area that is pretty linear but obviously loaded with high production costs ? I was seriously blown away when I reached the game’s conclusion and I think anyone else would be too. In a way, I liked the sequel more than the first game. The scale of everything is much larger, and it seems much more mysterious and cryptic on what you can find and discover in its open world. I only wish I could of spent more time with this one, but the controls and camera do make it hard to get around if you’re planning on exploring, making it a much bigger time sink than it has to be ? Will I ever play Shenmue III? I’m not sure. Cause I’m already aware of how lackluster it is and how little it advances the overall story. There is also the Kickbacker and Epic Games Store drama that surrounded the game during its release. But maybe I will check it out once I see it for $10 ?
Popular Post Mayellie
#30 - Paladins Champion of Champions Unlock all trophies in Paladins We meet again, Paladins. I started playing you back in 2017. I had no high expectations, as other free-to-play games I had tried, I found quite boring. Every now and then, I'd take a look at my list of platinums and know I was being robbed of one I so, very sorely deserved... and it was yours. For years, I had all but one trophy popped. I never thought I'd be writing about you in this thread due to a specific trophy (more on that in a bit), yet here we are. Sooo, SUUUUUUCK IT, DEVS. Let's get into the breakdown, shall we? If you've never heard of this, it's a free-to-play rip-off of Overwatch. Like, really. I don't know how Hi-Rez got away with this thing without having lawsuits thrown at them through their windows, finding lawsuits in their shoes as they get dressed for work, and even lawsuits in their bathtubs. Everything from the similarities in "champions" (heroes, in Overwatch), to their voice lines, to HUD placement and look is uncannily similar. Despite having Overwatch since launch, I only recently started playing it, and that's when I was totally shocked by the similarities. While Overwatch does feel much more stable, polished, better, and has a variety of extra game modes in Quick Play, Paladins is pretty damn good for being a free game. It's tons of fun whether you're playing for or for'nt (is that a word? I'm making it a word ) trophies. I wasn't a trophy hunter when I first played it in 2017, yet I went out of my way a bit to get most trophies anyway because they made me experiement with certain champions I wouldn't have tried otherwise. Trophies: People who have earned Paladins trophies can be divided into to sections: those who got certain trophies prior to mid 2017, those who got them 2017-2019, and those who got them after early 2019. Prior to mid 2017, there was a game mode called Survival. As the name indicates, PvP with no respawns. There's a trophy tied to it which is to be the last person alive in a match - both your teammates and enemy team dead. Not bad, right? Just git gud... WRONG. In mid 2017, just a few days after I started playing, devs removed Survival, but kept its trophy. Excuse my French... but what kinda fuckery is that? The chances of getting this trophy in other modes' matchmaking decreased to -148.34%. Me, being the lucky gal that I am, hadn't earned this trophy, which meant it was only obtainable via boosting. I put it off for years because I knoooow how much of a pain boosting can be. But I finally bit the bullet and JUST DID IT (insert Shia LaBuffet meme here). The trophy is still difficult in boosting because, ideally, you'd need 8 people to get it done in 20 seconds. With 5 people, it can take up to hours because the timing has to be just right with the champions' ultimate. So that's the first trophy to beware. Second trophy to beware is to Collect All Talents (cards). This was absolutely no issue for me as I had already naturally obtained it back in 2017, despite it being a little glitchy. However, I've read there was a major overhaul update in early 2019 that made this pretty grindy. So this is something to watch out for if you're going to start up this trophy list. Third trophy to keep in mind is Bounty Hunter - Kill an enemy player that is on a 15+ killstreak. This one's tricky because you can't control how much your or the other team sucks. I was lucky enough to get this naturally because I have a good amount of hours in, but it's boostable. Overall, really fun and unapologetic rip-off of Overwatch, with a small, yet potentially time consuming trophy list. My suggestion is to not start this if you're a 100% completionist, just in case. Instead, I suggest just playing it for fun. It's quite good. My nightmares are no longer flooded by a giant Paladins platinum trophy the size of Godzilla chasing me yelling "YOU'LL NEVER EARN ME". Now, I'm free and relieved. Finally, screw you, devs, for this devforsaken trophy. I got it anyway. Time: No damn clue. At least 130 hours total, but not sure how long the plat itself would take. Difficulty: 5/10 Grind: 7.5/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Relief: 10/10 Found out this is my rarest PSNP plat too! 2.37%. Pretty happy! Popular Post madbuk
#388 - LEGO Movie 2: The Videogame I intended to skip this game entirely when it was first revealed, as the changes to the standard LEGO formula didn't look like something I'd enjoy, and I thought it'd be a one-off experiment before returning to the traditional level-based games that came before it. Unfortunately, LEGO Star Wars seems to be copying this template, based on what little we've been told about the gameplay of it, so I figured I should at least give it a try and see whether I'm done with this franchise for good or whether it's something I will actually enjoy. I'm pleased to say that I did enjoy this, way more than I expected. It's extremely basic, there are no puzzles for collectibles (or even progression) like there used to be in previous games, you simply fulfill quests for people in each hub world, and collect the rest bricks within them by flying around and looking at your map. There's no challenge to it but it was strangely engaging anyway. The bosses were pretty good (although again, extremely easy), but perhaps a little longer than they needed to be. As someone who hasn't seen the movie, this seemed very light on actual plot so maybe they just expect you to know what's going on. Overall I prefer the traditional formula used in almost every other game, but... I can accept this if this is what the franchise is going to become from now on. It's still decent enough.
Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #539: Ratchet & Clank Difficulty: 2.5/10 Playtime: 20-25 hours Enjoyment: 8/10 Now, this is my first experience with anything Ratchet & Clank... no real reason, our paths just never crossed before. But what with my owning this through PS+, and the imminent arrival of the PS5 and the SSD-powered sequel, figured it was as good a time as any. And a good time, I had. Ratchet (which sounds like the name of Gadget Hackwrench's brother) is a humanoid furry space boy who dreams of becoming a Blitzball--err, I mean, Galactic Ranger, who are like Jedi without all the saberizing, I guess. Anyways, after a chance meeting with an ostensibly defective warbot he names Clank, Ratchet Hackwrench is sucked into a galaxy-spanning war among the stars, or a "star war," if you will. As you can tell, it's not the most original story ever told, and without the charming humor and characters it would fall pretty flat. Honestly, it still kinda does, as it is pretty disjointedly paced, frequently missing out on obvious story beats, not just for creating context, but characterization as well. Concordantly, it feels a bit dry and old hat, and all that. As I understand it, it's a retelling of the first game interspersed with bits from the movie adaptation... seems like they maybe got too ambitious for their own good, I guess? Irregardless and respective, it's much too bland a story told for my liking... and I doubt my opinion would be much different if I'd played it way back when. It didn't render me completely uncaring towards the plot like Jak II did, but I definitely got some of those vibes. My favourite character was Mr. Zurkon... I want a game about him and his hypnotically bloodthirsty and murderizing ways! No, the main attraction here is the addictive and frenetic gameplay, mixing versatile gunplay with light RPG leveling elements. With its inclination towards implacable one man army mook slaughter (you may well get forked if you end up playing on autopilot, though; changing up weaponry is important even on the easiest difficulty, and not just for the sake of avoiding running out of ammo) and seemingly endless barrages of prize spillit goodness, it's very much the Kingdom Hearts of guns. And that ain't a bad thing. It's pretty much always engaging, even if it seems like a wasted opportunity when enemy drops inevitably become obsolete during the latter stages of the second playthrough... always have some kind of prestige level stuff to funnel rewards into, guys. Tied together in an enervating panoply of crisp shapes and colours, it's a blast to play, and a fun trophy hunt besides. I've definitely developed a taste for this kind of gameplay. I'm now actually a trifle curious about the original games, so I may give them a go down the line... apparently, I actually own the remastered trilogy on PS3 and Vita, yet I have no recollection of ever buying it. I'll blame the house ghosts, as I usually do... I just wish they would use their own payment information from time to time!
Popular Post Whitelightnin683
#204 Sword Art Online: Alicization Lycoris Master of the UnderworldObtain all trophies Enjoyment::8/10 Time: 100+ (200 hrs for me) Difficulty: 4/10 This has become my favorite SAO game thus far next to Fatal Bullet. The game did suffer some technical issues upon release, but that didn't overshadow some of the improvements over Hollow Fragment/Realization. The new menu user interface is much more organized, the gameplay is more deliberate and skill based focused rather than simply applying 10 different buffs and spamming an array of sword skills like in HF/HR, and the graphics are just as good if not better than Fatal Bullet. Storywise, the first chapter of the game is a retelling of the Alicization arc from the anime/manga, that also introduces a new character named Medina(a girl whom is the successor of a noble family whose reputation has since been tarnished). The following chapters divert from war of the underworld (the original timeline) and into the new gameverse timeline, which overall I found this new story to be quite enjoyable despite some pacing issues. The trophy list is pretty similar to HR's, and some people will be happy to hear that the devs (after listening to fan feedback) have lowered the requirements for the affinity trophies and toned down on some of the ecchi stuff within the game, tho I personally didn't have a problem with the latter. Anyone aiming for the platinum in these games should be ready to invest at least 100 hrs. I'm very much look forward to future dlc/updates, and hoping the other gameverse characters are added as well.
Popular Post Desmuria
It's been a while since I posted here. Please forgive the long post. #320 - Hidden Through Time Hidden Expert! Found all Hidden Through time trophies Enjoyment: 6/10 Diffculty: 2/10 This is basically just a virtual version of Where's Wally (Waldo) and, in all fairness, it's pretty fun. The only issues I had with the game were the online trophies because the UI is a little bit glitchy. Not really a whole lot to say about this, to be honest. A cute puzzle game, somewhat time consuming, but decent enough. #321 & #322 - Alphaset by POWGI Alpha Dog Collect all the trophies Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Yet another easy and stackable POWGI game. This one can be completed in just under an hour if you use a guide. Again, not much to say about these. They're all pretty bog standard puzzle games. #323 & #324 - Crypto by POWGI Code Dependent Collect all the trophies Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1/10 Same as above. Super easy and enjoyable stackable POWGI offering. Out of the two I played, I enjoyed playing Crypto slightly more. One Word by POWGI still reigns supreme in my heart. #325 - A HERO AND A GARDEN A HERO AND A GARDENER Unlock all other A HERO AND A GARDEN trophies. Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 1/10 This is a mix between a visual novel and a tap game(?), I guess. You plant different types of shrubs and harvest the fruit that grows from the bushes. Once you've harvested enough, you trade them in and you earn money to upgrade the town. Some of the trophies are tied to getting the different endings, so a bit of tactical saving is recommended. If you're looking for a calm and relaxing time for a cheap price, pick this up. Gutted that this didn't get a PS Vita stack. I wouldn't have minded playing it twice. #326 - Apocalipsis: The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil End of the World Unlock all Trophies Enjoyment: 3/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Wow, this is a glitchy, horrible, buggy, mess of a game and I don't recommend it. I can't even say that I enjoyed playing it, because I was constantly worried it would bug out on me. There's one moment where you have to feed fish to a many-headed monster and open a padlock at its feet. The amount of times the game would glitch out and not let me open the padlock made me almost cry in frustation. Only play this if you're trophy hunting and you don't mind a bit of mild frustration. #327 & #328 - Epic Word Search Collection 2 Considerably Large Collect all the trophies Enjoyment: 5/10 Difficulty: 2/10 I played the original Epic Word Search Collection when that came out and I didn't think highly of it. One would question why I played the second installment after the scathing review of the first one. But here we are... and this is a carbon copy of the original, even the same trophy list. You have to find specific words and then 100% a puzzle in each of the four categories. I do enjoy a puzzle game, but this has nothing on the POWGI offerings. #329 & #330 - Mekabolt Platinum Mekabolt Get all other trophies Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Ahhh, this game is so cute. I've had it rotting in my backlog for months. It's another Ratalaika puzzle platformer and it's a lot of fun to play. Can easily be done without a guide as there are no missable trophies. I recommend this game. #331 - Road Bustle Platinum deliveryman Open all trophies. Enjoyment: 1/10 Difficulty: 0/10 Nothing to say about this one. Yes, I used the exploit. No, I have no regrets. #332 - Roommates Platinum Roommates Get all other trophies. Enjoyment: 5/10 Difficulty: 2/10 I really wanted to like this game. It's got really good reviews on Steam and people seem to enjoy it. I just... didn't. It really fell flat for me. I really didn't like the art style either, probably because I've played a lot of stunning VNs in the past, like Code: Realize. Unlike standard visual novels, this one has difficulty modes and you have to plot out your character's schedule. With a guide, this game is an absolute breeze. I imagine it's just plain tedious without one. #333 - Dead Island: Definitive Edition The Whole World Went Away Collect all other trophies. Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Oh boy, I've finally gone and done it. My God, this game has been an absolute slog and I honestly couldn't have done it without my gaming buddy. Without a doubt, this game is probably unbearable after a while in solo mode. Being able to play co-op and actually laugh at how janky and broken everything is just made the experience better for me. Trophy-wise, it's all very tedious and long-winded, especially having to play Act 1 with all four characters. The DLC was where I gained most of my experience to get to level 50 and to farm the 250 kills with guns, etc. I'm not going to go for 100% because the 'Fancy' trophy is broken as heck and I'm never using analog controls again. So happy to finally have this one done and dusted. Edited September 20, 2020 by Desmuria

Popular Post Amerati
Plat #43 - Biggest Fan Disappointment Fun: 2/10 Plat Experience: AFK / 10 (0/10) I don't normally post around here. But let me just go on a rant for a second. This has been probably one of the worst platinum experiences I've ever had. A game rewarding exp based on time played instead of rewarding the player on K.O's or playing the objective was already a huge flag when I found out. Most matches that I managed to get another teammate just afk'd (moving a bit to not get kicked) I cant even blame them though, the exp you get per match is horrible. Sadly, those aren't the only problem this game has. Some character's are busted in objective game modes. Like Rev and Amphora in Rocket ball since Rev and use her ability and grab the ball and already be across the map and Amphora has a 2nd health bar if she uses her mobility move which doesnt even punish her if she gets hit out of it. But that not going to happen unless you can even find a match. The game is so dead that my brother had to keep it installed so I can even play a match that only requires 1 other other person, cant imagine queueing for arena that requires 5 others. We only saw 2 people in our last 5 hour grinding with crossplay on. It's so dead they had to remove their ranked gamemode just to fill their nonranked game modes Please do yourself a favor, and stay away unless you like watching a queue timer time out. Wouldn't even bother touching it even if it was free. I honestly feel bad for the people who paid full price for a mediocre arena shooter. Some heroes are unbalanced in other game modes I think this game won't survive pass their season 3 roadmap unless they do drastic changes to the game & make it f2p. Won't be shocked if I see a server closure either later this year or next year. /rant Edited September 20, 2020 by Amerati
Popular Post Jiano_Vera
#114 - Wargroove Platinum 114 is in the bag! This love letter to Nintendo's Advance Wars and Fire Emblem is a must play if you're into tactics and strategy games! The game sports a colorful art style and is a throwback to pixelated graphics. Anyone familiar with Nintendo's games will feel right at home here, but Chucklefish does enough differently where this game has its own identity. For instance, all units are guaranteed to land a critical hit if they fulfill certain conditions, which add another layer of depth in regards to positioning. Also, all commanders have special abilities called.. Wargrooves, that can tilt the battle in your favor! The game has a good variety of units such as swordsmen, spearman, knights, and even doggos! Every unit has their strengths and weaknesses and can be called upon depending on the situation. The game offers the Campaign, Puzzle Mode, Arcade Mode, and online which offer a lot of replayability! For the platinum, the game asks a lot from the player. You'll need to complete every main/side mission with an S rank, complete 25 puzzles, and finish arcade mode with all 15 base characters, all while collecting 200 stars. The recent update added 45 stars to the pool, which means you won't need to complete arcade mode on hard with all the characters! In the campaign, S rank can be achieved by beating the mission in a set number of turns, while some missions can be daunting, you can SAVE SCUM (in the main Campaign and Arcade) to save your precious time and reduce your frustration! Luckily the online trophies don't require much and can easily be earned within the first 30 minutes. The platinum isn't too bad and is a very fun game to play! Overall, I adored this game, it might be my favorite one this year! Enjoyment: 10/10 Platinum Difficulty: 6/10 Time: ~60 hours

James Heller the new MC on Prototype 2 Remastered, he's a funny guy and who he likes to insult anyone who gets in his way especially that Sabrina Galloway. A funny and insult quote to what James Heller said to Sabrina Galloway. Galloway: Good boy. Now don't forget the rest of those choppers. Heller: Don't talk to me like a dog, bitch.
