Popular Post Ya_Boy_James
#36 - DEEP SKY DERELICTS True Scavenger Unlock all trophies. I'd almost say this is a hidden gem, but at the least I think it deserves more than the under 200 registered players it has on this site. Deep Sky Derelicts is a turn-based strategy / RPG / rogue-like with a unique art style and a successful system of party creation, gear & loot, questing, and combat. The only drawback here was occasional crashes, but not much progress would be lost, especially with mindful checkpointing after the first time. This was a game that immediately caught my eye and delivered on that initial interest! At nearly 10 hours for a single campaign it felt just the right length. Out of all 38 trophies though I do think they saved the least interesting art for the platinum lol. Since I doubt anyone has heard of Deep Sky Derelicts, here's a glimpse:

Popular Post Draps-1337
#85 Feather I actually got this one a month ago with a review code. But the game just officially released so I just popped up on my profile. A super relaxing game that I played for over 50 hours on Steam. Even though I got the platinum in like 20 minutes. Might write up a quick trophy guide or something.
Popular Post Boomshanks
( & 100% 56) Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (PS4) Prizes, Plunder, and Adventure! Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 4/10 ? Sally Brown, she’s the gal for me boys. God I love the shanties. I took a long break from the Assassin’s Creed games after the third so this was the first one I played on the PS4. I had heard some incredible stories before starting so I was afraid this would feel very overhyped. Surely the naval gameplay and combat wouldn’t be as good as everyone said… they were. Surely the shanties would grow boring after a while… they didn’t. In fact, all the great things I heard about this game turned out to be true and then some. I loved exploring the vast open world on the Jackdaw. The beautiful jungles and beaches and sounds of the open sea just drew me in and kept me immersed until the very end. You don’t have to collect much of the butt-ton of collectibles in the game, but I loved exploring so much that I went on long after getting all the respective trophies. I found it very relaxing to just start the game and go collectable hunting on the Jackdaw without going for any trophies in particular and it’s been a long time since I’ve had such an experience . I really didn’t expect to like the characters and missions as much as I ended up doing. The decision to feature less missions in each chapter but to make the missions longer was a great one. Now nearly every mission moved the plot forward and the decreased emphasis on the assassins versus the templars meant that we had some interesting and fun characters for a change. Present day is still a boring slog but it wasn’t featured much so I’m okay with it. Highlights for me were the fort battles and the legendary ships . I first stumbled into a legendary ship by accident and got absolutely wrecked so that was fun. The battles themselves were epic and unique and were made even better by stormy weather and excellent music. The underwater caves were hit or miss. I loved the underwater atmosphere but I absolutely hated the sharks. Made me feel a lot less guilty to harpoon them to death for their skins. The multiplayer wasn’t too bad. I played Wolfpack with my nephew all the way to level 55 and it went much faster than expected. We were mostly just chatting and playing the game in the background. In the end we could get to wave 25 consistently without paying too much attention. I can see how boring this would be if you had to do it alone or with randoms though. As with most other people, this is my favorite Assassin's Creed in the series (that I’ve played so far) and it’s the least like Assassin's Creed of all the games. I’m still undecided if I want to do Unity and Syndicate as well or just go straight to Origins. Time will tell.

Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#500 - God of War Such a fun game in almost every regard. Looks great, plays great, story is interesting, voice acting was phenomenal. Wasn't the biggest fan of the trials as they were kind of boring as was farming the mist. Nevertheless it's now my favourite entry in the franchise. Enjoyment: 9 Difficulty: 4.5

Popular Post Darghel
#83 Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers Difficulty: pretty easy, but very grindy Time to Complete: about 25 hours Recommended: the game is very very easy but like i said there's a LOT of grinding Total Score: 7/10 Well, initially I had plans to get the 83rd plat with No Straight Roads BUT that game decided to bug on me and currently I cannot do perfect parry mode on one of the bosses...so I decided "screw it, I'm going to do an easy game" and this game came out on the sales. So I took a shot at it. What got me was the graphic style, reminding me a lot of professor Layton and similar games, which was a welcoming surprise! Although what I loved was also the jrpg mechanics: when I played I just thought "how much I miss the old jrpgs. The combat is simple, but it has enough complexity to be fun: you learn abilities with leveling, you use items to upgrade your skills, you get equipments, you get some fun moves...sometimes you just want something simple and this game sated my hunger for a simple game so well! However, I think it's TOO simple: story is nothing special BUT I found it quite enjoyable thanks to the characters you meet, in particular, Isaac and Cheatstein are quite interesting and memorable characters. I also liked how the focus is Sherry, and by the end of the game, you'll see why. Still, I found the story lacking a bit, in the sense that it could've shown us much more, but instead it showed only the bare minimum, so stuff like "future clocknee" or "past clocknee" are just barely there and then left behind. Heck, you can't go back to those areas! You're stuck in the 2000s for most the game! It also lacks basic things like collectibles or sidequests...actually I'm wrong there are collectibles in the form of clothes for Sherry, which requires an item called Water Orb, but it's so hard to find that I don't even recommend trying (you're supposed to find a shiny dot for that...but good luck actually finding it since it's so small you'll most likely glance over it!). But overall the game feels empty, you don't really have much of a reason to explore since you can even see chests on the minimap, there's no secret boss either (you find some "stronger" bosses but they're barely worth your time) Anyway, with that said, I found this game quite enjoyable overall, a nice simple game to relax: game is fairly short too, you can finish it in about 15 hours or less, but since we're talking about trophies well...I took 10 hours to get the grindy trophies and yeah, it was tough but it could be worse. It could have asked me to get all of Sherry's costume! I recommend to give it a shot, but get it on discount if you can: original price is 40 euros and I don't think it's worth all that much. I paid 20 and I got my money's worth. Edited October 1, 2020 by Darghel Forgot to change the name of the game, woops. Sorry, it's 2 am!
Popular Post DoctorGameGeek
#19: Trials of Mana 7th in the time of COVID Difficulty: 4 / 10 Many of the trophies are story-related and unmissable. You can complete the platinum in three playthroughs if you pick the right protagonists; defeating each possible final boss is the only not-so-obvious thing. The new game plus feature practically breaks the game in the second and third playthroughs. You inherit everything in the save file, even down to characters' end levels and class-specific equipment. So, make sure you save at least one piece of gear up until the second class switch and then save the third and fourth class gear if you plan on playing that particular end-game class again. Save all of the unused ??? class-item seeds. Perhaps the most game-breaking thing of all is beating the game and getting the 300% experience point boost chain ability from Faerie. You will easily hit the level cap. As far as game play goes, Trials is different from Secret in one fundamental aspect. Secret of Mana highly encourages you to boost magic proficiency since most bosses have an elemental weakness to exploit. In Trials, you can totally get away with prioritizing melee skills and damage per second. That's simply because leaving Angela or Hawkeye off of the team means that you don't really have elemental weaknesses to exploit. The good news is that healing is easy to do - even if you don't use Healing Light - and getting good at melee combos means you'll break boss barriers and render them vulnerable. Last but not least, the star navigation system makes it virtually impossible to get lost or sidetracked. The only real trouble is in possibly revisiting all of the Benevodon dungeons again since Li'l Cactus makes appearances in a certain order. Some time in playthrough #2, I learned to spam Kevin's Spin Kick and do little else. Enjoyment: 7 / 10 I remember trying to get my hands on a fan-translated emulated version of the game too long ago to pin down. I played through the Cascade Cavern level and similarly remember little else. I don't think I made it to the class evolution portion of the game. So, here, having seen it all for the first time, there are many props to reserve. Combat is easily the most enjoyable part of the game. You have two basic attack buttons and an evade button, though I wish the designers had thought to add some defense move. Combos and aerial combat are really fluid; once you get past the weird default buttons, it's easy to take on just about anything. As stated earlier, pumping up your strength and buying the latest gear practically guarantees that you will win pretty much whatever the game throws at it. And once you get past Charlotte's weird Elmer Fudd accent, you'll find that each character gets an interestingly fleshed out if somewhat cliche story. No worries, though. The hero undoubtedly wins. Characters repair strained relationships with loved ones and friends. Mana's gone, and yet people will persevere. There are downsides. The game is overall easy, even on Hard difficulty mode. Even non-boss battles can impose a beating on your team, and that's simply because the AI-controlled characters don't know that red means get the hell out of the way. Bosses usually get one solid party-wide hit in, and then you'll have to rapidly heal everyone. However, that's as simple as hotkeying the right items or spells. Healing Light+ means you'll virtually never die. On the other hand, some battle fields are chock full of hazards that will kill you and seemingly ignore enemies. The story line is interesting in parts, but you will find yourself fast forwarding and skipping cut scenes. It gets grating when virtually any combination of characters get shoehorned into the same major plot points. Playing each character's backstory is nice, but it would have been helpful to have more than just a different end-game dungeon. Overall, if you need an action RPG to get you by, this one is worth picking up.

Popular Post RoastedPeanut
# 82 - Valkyria Chronicles 4 Valkyrian Chronicler Difficulty - 4/10 Enjoyment - 9/10 This game had been sitting in my backlog for far too long. My previous platinum was the first Valkyria Chronicles game, so I thought it was about time I fired this one up. Brilliant game! Overall I think I still prefer the original game as I didn't care for a fair chunk of the characters this time, but I liked the additions that were added this time, such as the Grenadier class, an APC, and being able to form up small squads and move several characters at once. I don't have high hopes for a fifth game being released, but both this and the original are definitely two games that can be enjoyed more than once without growing stale.
Popular Post Ya_Boy_James
#37 - BURLY MEN AT SEA Ye've Done It “This day, you reach the end of a story,” she continues, “and the last of its paths.” Pulled this once free PS+ game from the backlog for a casual play. It's certainly an easy platinum, only requiring each of 12 story branches to be taken. The illustration, animation, and music/sound design of this indie are its high points. Gameplay is simple, nothing too groundbreaking for a point-and-click. However, when I realized that each of the 12 paths were interwoven somewhat cleverly, I was intrigued to know what would unfold once I had seen them all. I didn't find my moment of revelation, but... *thinks of cliché* perhaps the real treasure was the memories made along the way.

Almost 2 years ago I quit the game because of that trophy because it's so stupidly difficult. It took me nearly 7 hours to get it. Popular Post MrGarland
Platinum #97 (PS4) and #98 (PS Vita) Difficulty: 3/10 Playtime: 12 hours (PS4), 8 hours (PS Vita) Enjoyment: 7/10 The last double platinum for now. This time, it's not from Ratalaika Games. It's more challenging, and perhaps more enjoyable. Well, with the exception of the most tedious part, but more about that later. Also, looking at the credits, it seems to be (mostly) made by one man. First, the story. It's pretty cliche'd. I've seen my share of stories like that, be it anime, or games. At least the gameplay is good. On top of that, it has a co op mode. Don't know if it makes the game any easier since I didn't test it, but it's a nice option. So, the most tedious part? The beginning. When you start, your character is weak, and getting a few levels takes a while. The grind is not the worst I've experienced so far (I've had worse), but it gets repetitive after a while. I died too many times while getting my characters leveled up. To make it less boring, I usually listened to music or anime dubs which helped me to focus. Once I got most of the characters leveled up high enough, the game became way too easy. Especially if you're using Erika, as she has the skills of the other characters. Needless to say, I used her for the rest of the game. If I wanted more challenge, I could use any other character. Maybe someday I'll test it. Then there's the arcade mode which I saved for last. The goal is to clear all six stages in one go. Get a game over, and it's back to start. Thankfully, you can buy items between the stages. Overall, it's not too hard, but Stage 5 is the worst. Stage 2 is also annoying with the last wave before the boss where a ton of enemies appear, but Stage 5 is even worse. There's one part where the entire screen is filled with enemies, and getting through that without losing a life is very hard, if not impossible. It's all because many of the enemies are shooting projectiles. With patience and luck, I managed to complete this mode after 5 attempts. For the Vita version, I only needed one. Speaking of the Vita version, I wanted to see if I could get the platinum faster with all the knowledge and experience I have in this game. And so I did. 8 hours. It's in my nature to see if I can speedrun the other version. I'm honestly surprised that I managed to get it 1/3 faster, despite that I messed at the beginning. Here's the platinum screenshot from the PS4 version. Since I left the arcade mode as last on both versions, they're pretty much identical so I'm not going to bother posting both of them. Spoiler Some other stuff about the game: The final boss is kind of a letdown. I don't know what I was expecting, but still. At least it offers a decent challenge if you fight it without items. The cover looks cool, I'll give it that much, but I still find it misleading. The thing I absolutely hate about the arcade mode is the item that levels you up. Every time it appears, it bounces all over the place. Wouldn't it better for it to just stay in one spot rather than flying all over? I mean, with all the enemies around... Even worse, whenever you get it, you lose a level and the same thing happens. What more can I say about the game? It's good, but I'm not too fond of all the grinding you have to do at the beginning. It does get better after a while. And hey, co op mode is a nice addition. I might as well include these in here. Some stuff I forgot to mention in my previous platinum posts. Spoiler Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection: I might remember this wrong, but when the game first came out, I remember reading elsewhere that the graphics in this collection don't look. Regardless if this was correct or not, that's a lie. They cool great, and that's all that matters. Girls und Panzer: Dream Tank Match: I'm honestly hoping that there will be a sequel to this game at some point, for reasons: As I've mentioned before, I found it too easy (excluding the DLC missions), but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. If there ever happens to be a sequel, I hope it offers a bit more challenge. The option to change the outfit for certain characters is a nice bonus, but it's very limited. The DLC only adds that for three characters, while the Switch version lets the school commanders to do so as well, in addition to winter outfits (for main characters that is). The DLC adds the characters from Das Finale which is cool. Only one problem, though. Ogin from Team Shark is the only one from that team to appear. It's disappointing. So yeah, I'm honestly hoping that they would make another game, but considering that Das Finale is still ongoing, it would take several years for another game to come. All I'm asking is that there will be another game, no matter how long it takes. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Remastered: One thing I forgot to mention in the post was the trophy icons. While some of them are identical in both versions, there are some improvements. Just compare the trophy icon of each version below, and you'll see what I mean. In my opinion, the PS4 version did a better job. Not just the trophy icons. Also, the mission Beat Down on B Dup. You probably know what I'm going to say. That removed content where you have to drive Big Bear to hospital while he tells how things got messed up could've been a good addition, but no. They had to remove it. Sometimes I really don't understand Rockstar Games's logic. And that's about it. Currently, this is the last easy platinum I'm going to do for now, but from here on now, it gets tougher. Much tougher. This includes the next platinum, as well as the 100th one. More about that next time. Edited October 2, 2020 by MrGarland

While the humour wasn't as good, I still enjoyed it. There was just something missing with the delivery perhaps or the set-up of the jokes and scenarios you were involved in. That's not to say I wasn't entertained! Some missions were damn hilarious such as the strip club mission early on or the one where you go to a church and fight molesting priests . Or when you fight against rednecks who despise immigrants, or having Morgan Freeman as your ally, etc. etc. Where else can you say you fought molesting priests, strippers, rednecks, ninjas, police high on cocaine, 6th graders, genetically engineered cats, spanish immigrants, and many more? Anyway, it's South Park.. it does crude humour well and if you're into that sort of stuff then this'll be right up your alley. Trophy-wise it was pretty simple. Story trophies, some misc/combat related ones and collectibles (which were yaoi art of Craig and Tweek ?), none of which were missable. With that, I'm getting closer to #150 .
