Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#503 - The Sinking City Was somewhat weary about this game, due to the fairly negative reception, but I actually ended up enjoying quite a bit. Visually, noticeable fairly low budget and some clipping issues here and there were the biggest negative points in this game. The stories were interesting and the mysteries were fun to uncover. The combat sucks at first, but after some time you'll get used to it. THe preentation of the endings, was a bit on the weak side as well. The diving segments were horrendouns. Nevertheless I had a good time with it. Enjoyment: 7.5 Difficulty: 3.5

Popular Post RedRodriguez87
#324: A Symphony of Horror Trophies Another spooky scary platinum that I've earned, and another satisfying experience from someone who's not really a horror fan. A bit more involved than Through the Woods, but still there was plenty of helpful guides out there! Now unlike TTW, this games' budget really factored into my enjoyment. The game still looks great even today, with characters and environments looking well detailed and animated. The only moments that came close to uncanny valley territory was when there had to be shadows involved. The acting was well done for this kind of story, And there are some really interesting and engaging story ideas here that kept me interested in what would happen next.... up to a point. Once again the story ends up being my negative sticking point. While it certainly told itself ALOT better, and had a lot more going on then TTW, but it ended up losing itself. As cliched as it is at times, the first half of the story did a good job of setting itself up for a more psychological thriller, with somewhat complex characters and motivations; but then the mid-story villains come in, and it devolves into a teen slasher. And I know why it was added; to give a greater sense of danger AND encompass all the clichés of teen horror movies as a sort of love letter, but it just ends up being too much to process, and everything that was built up to this point is just kind of tossed aside for this new direction. The game sold itself on the butterfly effect, but as many have pointed out, it doesn't go as far as it COULD have with it, and I think its because there ended up being too much to keep track of. The second quibble I had was how the game itself plays. It comes close to walking simulator territory, where your slow movement it meant for you to get sucked into the environment, and the most simplest of actions outside of walking themselves are very complex to pull off, which could add to the tension when you need to act fast. However, you soon learn that most every legit horror moment is scripted, so when comes time for the clean up playthrough, it becomes a chore to get through. For every moment of "I better be sneaky to avoid detection" there is a moment of "omg, would you just speed it the hell up?! I know this hallway isn't dangerous!" or "omg a killer is chasing me, and I can't remember how to lock a door!" is meet with the opposite; "for the love of christ, just pick up the damned paper clue!! Why do I have to rotate it to register it?!" it doesn't help that the game didn't feel the need for a run button or skip cutscene option. Ah well, like I said, it wasn't a bad experience, certainly better than my previous one. And hey, it may not be a blue platinum, but at least it's much shinier and cleaner looking than a silver one!
Popular Post ZachBoardyHD
Platinum 104: Trine 2 After playing all the other 3 Trine games, I thought I may as well get this one done too, I initially didn't plan on playing this game even though I do really enjoy the series, it's the due to what I heard repetition, lengh and the difficulty so that put me off from playing this, but I thought, hey so what if I don't platinum this, not the end of the world! ? So I decided to try and get the platinum which I did. If you're not familiar with the Trine games it's a 2D puzzle game with 2.5D game environments, you get to play a trio of hero's seeking out this Trine object thing? To be honest I don't actually understand why this Trine object is so important but it is ?, but when seeking it you come across many enemies which you need to kill or you can simply just run past them but I've noticed with this particular Trine that's not the wise thing to do especially in the hardest difficulty as this Trine has so many things in environment that will kill you, so it's best to take it slow. You also come across experience bottles/points to make you more powerful with what your specific hero can do, so going slowly through a level first time is the way to benefit you more in the long run. I do think this series is very under rated as it's truly a fun series to play, even on the hardest difficulty... Well for the most part. The annoying thing about the Trine games is gaining all Experience points in a level as some are so well hidden that it's easy to miss one so you need to be proper thorough. I feel with the hardest difficulty setting that they could have made it not so hard, I know that's the whole point of Hard mode in a game to make it hard but at times it felt cheap and unfair because in this Trine game the levels are twice as long and way more puzzles to complete and sometimes it can feel really unfair because one little screw up will most likely make you replaying the level again, I also found it ridiculous that one hit from an enemy will kill you. Though you can regenerate half your health (even the dead ones) when you reach a checkpoint but if a specific hero who you need is dead to get past a obstacle before you reach the next checkpoint, it's a restart the level which you will probably do many times especially in the later chapters Apart from the little annoying parts in the game, I did really enjoy myself with this chapter in the series and it's a really pretty game too apart from that level where you're inside this creature, that was just gross. This is my GOTY so far, Team Ninja actually improved in all aspects compared to the first Nioh - they nailed it. I could always relate to the historical characters in these games since I played alot of Samurai Warriors back in the days, I knew who they were whenever someone was introduced. The combat is alot of fun and the yokai abilities just makes it even better, and I'm going to say it even if others disagree - the combat is the best I've seen in any Souls like game including Soulsborne, I still think Soulsborne has them beat in atmosphere and enviroments though. I still have many hours to play if I want to 100% this game but what can I say, it's inevitible. Usually I don't care about milestones and which plats to save for a certain number of plats, but I'm planning on having Assetto Corsa be my 70th platinum - so here we go

Popular Post starcrunch061
Plat #412: MediEvil Savior of Gallowmere Unlock all trophies. I remember once that someone told me that opinions rarely, if ever, change as you continue playing a game. They must not have played MediEvil. Initially, I was completely floored at how...mediocre this title felt. However, as I played on, I began to uncover the charm in the title, and while I wouldn't say that I love it, I'm certainly glad I played it, and I'm certainly glad it was remade. To preface, I'm a newbie to MediEvil. I knew of its existence on the PS1, and played demos of it in stores (remember when you could do that?). But back then, while I had loads of time, I had little money, so my game purchases were limited to RPGs and other long endeavors. So, there's no nostalgia here for me. The MediEvil remake has a lot going for it. First, the graphics are wonderful. This is what stylized graphics should be, and I hope to see more fantasy games utilizing this over the more realistic style often found. Of course, the subject matter lends itself well to this kind of presentation. You play as the "hero" Sir Daniel Fortesque, who defeated the evil sorcerer Zarok in glorious battle before succumbing to his own wounds. Or...at least that's the story. In actuality, you were killed in the first charge, and played zero role in Zarok's defeat. However, fate has played an interesting hand, and now your resurrected skeleton can win back your true honor by defeating a newly invigorated Zarok in present times. What a fantastic way to open a game! This is a great lead-in to the overall game (which has little story of its own, which is also fantastic). The sound is also fantastic in this one. Many of the voices from the previous game are used again to great effect here. The music is top notch (particularly the boss themes). The environments look great, there's a wide variety of enemies which fight differently, and while the game itself is not terribly hard, there's enough challenge to keep you entertained. What's the problem? Well, the camera. You may remember that cameras on old PS1 games were notoriously bad. For the most part, this has been fixed in PS4 games...but not here. I fought with that camera often. The control is also suspect. It's responsive enough, but it does...odd things. For example, Daniel swings a sword in multiple ways, and it can be difficult to figure out exactly what sword swing you'll get at a certain time. For some bosses, you have to jump on a platform to hit them (e.g. the ant queen). But Daniel often slips off the platform, and even when he's there, he sometimes swings his sword behind what he aims for. These are real gameplay problems, and they detract from the overall product (at times significantly). Another big annoyance is the lack of shadows. Mind you, I don't care about any realism here. But it would have been nice to see where I landed after a jump between platforms (particularly since falling is often an instant loss of an entire health bottle). But I can't help but be charmed at the overall game itself. I truly wanted Daniel to become the hero everyone thinks he is, and the ending was very satisfying. This remake should have been made, and it is certainly a marked improvement over the original game itself (you can unlock this original game, and boy, has it aged poorly). This immediately puts this game in a class above other remakes such as Parappa the Rapper and Crash Bandicoot (though not over Spyro). But I really wish that the camera had been fixed. I probably could have lived with the control if I had a good camera...and those shadows. Neither here nor there, but it would have been a good challenge trophy to force the player to play through the entire game using only Daniel's arm as a weapon. Well, "good" might be a misleading term; it would have been terribly frustrating, but it would have been a challenge. EDIT: and those trophy tiles are great. Popular Post Golem25
Platinum #70 - LittleBigPlanet 100% Complete - Earn all LittleBigPlanet™ trophies to unlock this platinum trophy 936,429 Owners - 29,508 Achievers for a percentage of 3.15% (average completion; 24.94%) Enjoyment; 3/10 Difficulty; 5/10 Trophies; 3/10 (unique tiles, but a lot of needless multiplayer stuff) Hate of bunkers; 10/10 It has been over a month and 145 Trophies since my last Platinum, but here we are; another PS3 Plat cleaned right out of the backlog after having been there for well over a decade. LittleBigPlanet was one of two games I got bundled in with my console in November 2008, and the only one I have been able to Plat (the other game in the bundle being Motorstorm Pacific Rift, which had its online 86'ed after just four years). I suppose the series doesn't really require an introduction; LittleBigPlanet was all about sidescrolling platforming and the creation of your own levels from the very start, back in '08 when this game came out. Developers Media Molecule have since gone on to create other quirky and creativity-focused games like Tearaway and Dreams, but LBP remains their most well-known IP. I know the game and the series have a lot of fans, but I wasn't massively into it back in '08 and upon returning for the Plat in 2020 I still kind of wish I had never taken it out of the wrapping but instead sold it on (and same for Motorstorm really). The story mode is a very quick romp that you can get through in an hour or three (wildly skill-dependent, admittedly) with a narrative that, much like many levels you see online, has been thrown together based on level of quirkiness rather than anything compelling. No voice acting, just literal cardboard cutouts that command your little Sackboy or Sackgirl to keep going; the protagonist is mute and has no involvement in the story besides mindlessly following orders (because there is of course no other way to progress) and sometimes having their facial expression changed with the D-pad. I appreciate that this isn't a story-driven game in the slightest, but something a little more substantial would have been nice. The level creator and online modes are the main attraction of LBP, but I frankly couldn't have cared less; I just wanted these Trophies out of the way. Thanks to some Heart-for-Heart levels I had thrown up in the summer of 2019 I got two related Trophies the moment I booted up the game the game, plus another one (Create) once I reaccepted the EULA. A nice enough start, but I still had to wade through 120+ one second levels online to get Share while also having about half of the single player left to finish. Highlight of the journey was when I got three near-instant pops on multiplayer Tropies thanks to @happyrabbit0053 being the most charitable booster ever. The final - and biggest - challenge was Play, which really made you feel this game's limitations as you were forced to beat the game's dozens of levels without dying once (although thankfully not in a row!). In my opinion, the physics and controls are too floaty to precisely control Sackboy in the harder levels, and the infamous Bunker level was every bit as painful as people said it would be; the ridiculous wheel section near the end probably cost me an hour or two alone. Check it out here on Youtube (timestamped for convenience). Once I cleared the Bunker it was smooth sailing; I left one easy level to survive and set my alarm for three in the morning to game my 'Trophies by time' stat to pop the Gold, and then went to a queued online level that gave you every single collectible in the game for Booty Master and a nice 300 point Platinum. Now with that out of the way, I will take a break from LBP this weekend and continue my attempts to beat the final Tactical Challenge in Vanquish; from Monday onward I'll give cleaning up LBP' DLCs a try. 22 Trophies between two packs means that there is plenty more work to be done, but at least the base game is finished. Finally. Edited October 16, 2020 by Golem25
Popular Post WayfarerFox
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided #191 #CantKillProgress Time to platinum: 30 hours | Difficulty: 5/10 | Enjoyment: 10/10 Overview Set 2 years after the events of the first game. (Not even going to mention what happens, Human Revolution is worth picking up) The world is now at an imbalance. Humans and Augs don't so much live in harmony anymore and augs are treated like animals. You play as Adam Jensen. A badass person who had no choice but to get augmented because of the first game. You start in Dubai as basically a prologue mission which introduces you to the world of Deus Ex and the aftermath of the first game. Shortly after returning to Prague where his HQ is situated. A bombing happens in a train station when he just arrives home. Your job is track down the people who make the bomb but the closer you get the more you unravel about the real enemies, why they are doing it and the kind of power they have in the world. Your job is to try and stop it. Gameplay Gameplay is brilliant, there are so many different ways to approach this game. You can stealth the whole game without being seen, you can go in all guns blazing. The freedom is there for you. You can kill everyone or kill no one. I always try and take a stealth and pacifist way if I can as I feel it's much more rewarding that way. Killing people may result in other people being angry and not helping in certain situations. You are one in a billion in terms of your abilities. The reason why is story related but that means it's better for us to. You can literally have different upgrades that help you in any situation. You can upgrade a cloak to make you invisible. You can upgrade hacking to make getting through doors and everything easier. Silent footprints. Punch through walls. There is so many different combinations you can have in this game to make it suit your playstyle and that's what makes this game really good in my opinion. Anything you want to do, you can do. The games situated into main missions and side missions and the side missions are quite lengthy in terms of side missions and they have interesting back stories for each of them. Characters I guess there really is one consistent character in the game and that's the main protagonist Adam Jensen. You can have him be however you want him to be as there is dialogue options. You can be a dick, you can be sympathetic, blunt, focused on mission. Anything you want to be. In my opinion Adam Jensen is one of the best protagonists around. He really is one of the best.I think as a character he's very underrated and should get a lot more praise than he does. He's got a superb and unique voice actor to which really works. I know that's really brief but because there's a lot of choices to how you want to be there isn't much to say on his actual personality because it's your choice. I found being sympathetic and reasonable half the time would give you the best rewards. He's very smart as well so it helps a lot. He even says he was part of the debate team in high school so he knows how to talk to people. The rest are side characters and honestly are only their for support with no backstory really. Miller is your boss, he just wants constant results. Not a bad guy just gets hounded by his bosses. Alex, she's basically your hacker friend. Gives you information and support but not much else to her. She's pretty monotone. The rest aren't worth mentioning because there's nothing to say on them. It's mainly them 3 for the whole game. Trophies Trophies in this game are really fun honestly. It makes you play the game pretty differently. Although, you can play the game however you want to do and going around killing everybody and rushing the whole thing is there to do. The trophies are rewarded for being a lot more stealthy and not killing anyone. That's what you want to do when going for this platinum. You do have to play through the game twice but that's honestly not a bad thing. The first time you want to play on easy or whatever you want to do. Going through without killing anyone and trying to not get an alarm state. You can save whenever you want in this game so if you fail you can reload a save. So it's not too bad. The second playthrough you have to play on Hard mode which is a perma death mode. If you die once, your save file deletes itself and you have to start again. The work around is constantly saving and going for a stealth playthrough without setting any alarms. The rest are mainly related to side missions and the rest are breach. A MP mode which was a good idea, just got boring really fast and there was literally nothing rewarding about it honestly and to be fair it wasn't the easiest thing to do. Also, this game is one of the rare instances where trophy images are really cool as well as the names of the trophies. There's a trophy for getting no alarms called "Foxiest of the Hounds" a nice little homage to Metal Gear Solid. My account as well, which was actually named after Gray Fox and not the animal but it's kinda turned into that. I blame one person and I know she'll read this. hahah Conclussion The game is brilliant, the whole setting is perfect and it's a nice little warm up for Cyberpunk 2077 honestly. I can imagine the games will feel similar in terms of technology and abilities and stuff but Cyberpunk is going to be much more massive. I think the game series in my opinion is underrated. I think the bad marketing they did with this game though is what ruined it for them. If they didn't try and force DLC into it and if they didn't stop this game literally halfway through it could of been great. That's my literal only issue with this game. Just when things open up and get a lot more interesting the game just ends. It feels like a halfway point and I wish they expanded on it a little more. Choices matter in this game and you can play however you want. Great characters and overlying story. I'd honestly give it a buy if you haven't already. It's literally like £4 on the store at the minute and worth getting. Edited October 16, 2020 by Fox

Popular Post Phantochi
#214 - Borderlands Remaster "Who needs a real doctor when you have my machines and their scary needles". The legendary game that made looter shooters a thing, comes back with a "remaster". If you played borderlands before, don't even bother, this is same game that came out years ago, even the bugs, glitches and crashes are exactly the same, they added a few new things that were to improve the game, but it's all useless, the bl2 style minimap for most of the time doesn’t work like it's supposed to, the 'tougher' final boss battle is a joke, the new character customizations are a bigger joke, besides the visual upgrade, this is the same game. I can only recommend this for people who never played the original borderlands before, if you're one of those, get ready for excessive charming humor, great variety in environments, a lot of guns, enemies, sidequests, a lot of bigger guns, and a fun coop action spread throughout, but if you played this game before, spend your money somewhere else, this re-release is not worth it.

Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #253: Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (October 6th, 2020) Difficulty Rating: 5/10 Excitement Rating: 7.5/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 12 - 15 Hours Hardest Trophy: Behold the Tekken Lord! (You became Tekken Lord in Offline Mode) With this game, I have almost everything in the Tekken series complete except for Tekken Revolution, which is unobtainable. While Tekken 6 focused on sole fighters and had somewhat of a story, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 focuses on the 'tag' element. Having a partner is a huge aspect of the game, as you can swap out fighters while your first guy slowly recovers health. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 simply follows what previous Tekkens had set. There is Versus Mode, Ghost Battle, Survival, Time Attack, Arcade and Practice. A new mode for this game is Fight Lab, which contains the only shred of any story as you are a robot. This basically serves as a tutorial more or less, teaching you basically input commands to chaining combos using your tag partner. While you can play this game with only one fighter, having a tag partner makes the game much easier, and thus as a result, Tekken Tag Tournament isn't all that difficult. Although having to grind the final tutorial level of Fight Lab to buy and unlock all the moves was a boring grind. Ghost Battle, like in Tekken 6 before it, pits you against AI fighters who become more skilled and dangerous the further up you go in rank. The trophy for reaching Tekken Lord is by far the most difficult trophy as well as being the longest to obtain. You have to essentially work your way from 'Beginner', which is the rank you start with, all the way up to Tekken Lord. Here is a ranking list for those who aren't aware of the ranks in Tekken Tag Tournament 2: Spoiler https://tekken.fandom.com/wiki/Tekken_Tag_Tournament_2/Ranking_List?file=TTT2-Ranks.png What makes this a bit tough is your opponents gradually become better as you reach higher ranks. A computer opponent who holds the rank of Tekken Emperor is far more deadly than a computer opponent who is only at 1st Dan. Unless you're skilled at fighting games and at Tekken you may suffer some losses, as I did. I used Jack 6 and Lee as my fighters, both of whom have cheesy moves you can exploit to make the journey a lot easier. Jack 6's move generally stops a lot of opponents and catches them off guard, while Lee's (HOLD) move rarely gets blocked. Of course, online opponents that are real human players can easily spot this so these moves won't work so effectively, and speaking of which.... I definitely felt the online this time around was more difficult than in Tekken 6. The game is now considered fairly old, having been released in late 2012 so many online players at this point are quite familiar with Tekken. Second, this is the last game in the franchise to have the 'Tag' feature, as Tekken 7 doesn't allow it. I ended up getting pummeled by Bruce Lee wannabes (Marshall Law & Forest Law), Armor King and other characters. While you can earn 1st Dan in Online Mode even if you lose all the time, you HAVE to win one online match to get the trophy. Easier said than done, because I came across some pretty crazy online players who were good at dishing combos. In conclusion, I am grateful and happy that I got a series done for trophies. It is a shame to say I didn't truly get it done, because of Tekken Revolution, but there is nothing I can do because of server shutdown. On a happier note, Tekken is a great series to get into if you're not familiar with fighting games and if you're wanting a taste of the genre. Nothing is too hard and nothing is too grindy, the trophies are plenty doable and I can probably say Tekken is to fighting games what Ratchet & Clank is to platforming games. Neither franchise is either too easy or too hard, the difficulty is about right and as a result, the games are a lot of fun to play. Tekken is far more accessible than Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, and that's great for a fight newbie like myself.

Looking at the cover, Aloy standing ready with bow and arrow to face an enormous T-Rex-like machine just looks incredibly cool and surprisingly the gameplay and combat actually manage to capture that feeling really well throughout the entire game. My girlfriend got me this game for my birthday and she enjoyed watching me play it and got interested in the story, so we decided to go through the entire game together in what has to be one of my favorite gaming experiences ever . We would have these great evenings together with drinks and snacks and just playing through Horizon. Because of the way the story is set-up and with the mystery slowly unraveling it was a fun shared experience to discuss what we thought had happened in the world and where the story would go. She has since stated that she would like to watch me play other games as well so this may have just started a new trend for us . In a game with so many highlights, one of the biggest stand-outs has to be the creature design. The creatures all look and sound amazing and I was surprised by how different they all behaved in combat, each requiring a unique approach. The mechanic of shooting off their specific parts in order to do more damage was also very clever and made the combat much more tactical instead of just mindless shooting. My favorite has to be the Stormbird, though it's a testament to the game that it is actually really hard to pick a favorite because there are so many standouts. Because the machines all require a different approach and they are often placed together in different combinations, we actually tried out all the different weapons instead of just sticking to a few which I normally do. The hunting grounds really helped with this as well, making you try out the different mechanics in the game. They were challenging but not too difficult, expect for the one with the Glinthawks which sent my frustration level through the roof ?. The game has a lot of memorable moments within both the combat and the story. Because we played the game on hard, the fights with the harder machines such as the Stormbird and Thunderjaw were actually very challenging so finally overcoming them after a few failed attempts felt like a hard-earned victory. It's also really cool that you can override almost every machine and have them fight each other, though it did make the fights a bit easy at certain points. Another highlight for me was the story. I like that they just put you into the world and you slowly figure out what happened to make it this way. The twists and turns the story takes are really well done and kept me interested all the way through to the end. The side missions and characters are sometimes a bit clunky but thankfully Aloy is a well-written character so it’s easy to root for her. The trophies aren’t all that difficult and I can see why so many people have the platinum . Honestly, I could keep talking about this game all day long. I clocked in nearly 60 hours before getting the platinum and a bit of the DLC and I’m already looking forward to completing the Frozen Wilds and New Game+ together with my girlfriend. That the game was made by a Dutch studio is just icing on the cake. I can’t wait for Horizon 2 and it will probably be the game I’ll get the PS5 for.

Popular Post Puppeter04
RISE OF THE GUARDIANS This kid-film-based game, as I said on my feed, is a mix between Kingdom Hearts and League of legends, maybe is a little bit repetitive for some of you bc in each world you have to do the exact same but that is countered by its fast pace. The collectibles appear on the map, thanks god (it's pretty straight forward anyway). You can control each one of the guardians, they are 5, each one with 3 types of attack. Difficulty is about 1/10 Time: around 6 hours Edited October 17, 2020 by Puppeter04
Popular Post DamagingRob
#489- A Plague Tale: Innocence Innocence Earn all "A Plague Tale: Innocence" trophies Killer rats. Sounds like a terrible B-movie you'd find on the SyFy channel. Thankfully, it's much better than that. A couple of sections I wasn't crazy about... Major spoilers: Spoiler The final boss was fairly annoying, and went away from the stealth gameplay I'd seen the whole game. And playing as Hugo.. Sherry from RE2 all over again. Hugo could also be rather annoying. Maybe I just don't like kids. Lol. 99% of the time in videogames, they seem unlikable to me. But overall a really good game. You get a lot of fun abilities to play with, over the course of the game. Rocks and pots to be used as distractions against guards. Or, with your sling, rocks can deliver a killing blow to a guard's head. Some guards wear helmets, though. Which you'll gain an ability that makes them throw it off, eventually. Then there's the rat element. They will eat you alive, so you'll need to use your skills to get past them. They're afraid of the light, so lighting fires scares them away. Or, if they're distracted by a tasty meal, they will also leave you alone. Those guards must be yummy... There are a few other gameplay surprises in store, but those would be pretty big spoilers. But yeah, it's definitely an interesting and pretty (or disgusting, at times ) game. With an entertaining story (which I've kept vague, 'cause it's better to go in fresh), and nice soundtrack. It's certainly possible to get everything done in one playthrough, if you're thorough and manage your resources well. Popular Post DefinitiveTJ
Platinum 61: Tekken 7 Well I guess it's time to purchase Tekken 6 and Tekken Tag Tournament 2, this series is still a blast to play. I'm not entirely used to the 3d aspect yet, even online people don't utilize it a lot from what I've seen, but it does allow for some extra options in combat. The roster is great even without dlc and seing Akuma in the Tekken style is a personal highlight. In terms of game modes is Treasure Battle my absolute favorite, various fighters after each other of varying difficulties with costume items as rewards.
