SoapMacTavish222
#385 Syrup and The Ultimate Sweet.........yeah......I don't really have much to say about this. Easy double platinum since I did it on Vita and PS4 for $4.99. I did 6 games back to back after I finished Far Cry New Dawn that were all cross buy and all extremely easy platinums. And now it's back to the backlog trying to clean it up more.

A man who never eats pork bun is never a whole man! Great game and platinum that requires 100%, just the way I like it. The game surely shows its age but it still has one of the best open world stories next to the GTAs.

Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
Platinum trophy No. 194! Sword Art Online: Lost Song ALO's Strongest Player My first (and probably the last) SAO platinum trophy. There's nothing to say: the plot isn't really interesting, the fun stuff is due to the hilarious dialogues between the main characters. The combat system is fine when you're fighting on the ground, but I found it really atrocious while you're flying. Then you've to fight over and over again the same 4-5 bosses. But the grinding session wasn't so horrible: you just need to level up the three OSS to Lv 100, one main character to Lv. 500, the 100 sidequests and 100 extra sidequests... Maybe Hollow Realization looks interesting, but when you have +80 hours grinding... Well, no thank you! Platinum screenshot after I unlocked the 100 different weapons! Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind DLC - 100% complete! Surely it's not a great DLC: the plot is a festival recycle (80%) + some kind of time travel with Sora? Just an excuse to replay the same epilogue of the base game. The best part was exploring Scala ad Caelum with its beautiful theme... Just for 10 minutes! Then you have the huge boss gauntlet: a copy/paste of the Data Graden from KH II FM, but it's not the same. In KH II FM every single battle was really unique: Vexen with the replica Antiform, Lexaeus with the power gauge (but I stull don't understand how should I trigger the commands!), Roxas (and Sora wielding three keyblades!), Marluxia with the death counter, Zexion and the trap book. But I found the new battles quite weak, and I didn't find them "unique" like KH II FM. Just powerful bosses where you need to struggle in order to find an opening. Don't get me wrong, some battles are great, like Terra-Xehanort (my favourite!) and Xion (which was really hard due to her stupid light rays that cut down you max HP bar), but I really hate other bosses, like Master Xehanort (the worst battle, it's a huge bullet hell) and Saix (another battle where I managed to survive with brutal force: change forms, elixirs and pray to stun that stupid boss). And finally you have Yozora, and you understand that the series KH is officially dead. This boss is much better than the Garden gauntlet, but he has so many moveset, and you really need a guide on order to study all of them and the openings. And it's not over. You need another playthrough in order to gain the Risk-taker trophy, where you need to fight the bosses of the main game (and strangely not all of them) using the "Pro codes", which make the game more difficult, like: go back to Lv 1, zero defence, HP and MP draining, no limits, no items, no magic, no Kupo coins, no fusions, etc. I cleared the main game using all of them for almost every boss (except Monstropolis, Arendell and the Dark Inferno), and I cleared the Garden with 362k points. Unfortunately I turned them off durin the Re Mind, so I gained almost zero points from the Armored Xehanort (and I didn't want to replay it again!), so I was forced to fight Yozora. But you obtain an ultra rare trophy and the 100% for KH III. The only good (and best) things of this DLC are the new rearrangements of the bosses music, like Force del male, Lord of the Castle, The 13th dilemma, Dismiss, Vector to the Heavens and so on. These are pure gold for ears, trust me! My favourite is this one, when Shimomura meets the Falcom Sound Team jdk: the 13th dilemma - Data Saix version! And probably the same thing for Vector to the Heavens! But I'm disappointed by the official tracklists of the KH III ost: some names are really anonymous....

Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #550: Difficulty: 4/10 Playtime: 15-20 hours Enjoyment: 6/10 Another ostensible PSOne classic that passed me by way back when... and what do ya know, it's about spoopy skaredy Ska Laytons! Skeletons are cool; I keep one with me anywhere I go. Anyways, could this recently resurrected slashy skeltal simulator prove to still provide a skele-ton of fun, or is it simply a fossilized failure that should have remained dead and buried? As things stand, it's stuck in something of a limbo between the two. MediEvil's charmingly barmy pun-based name is the game in a microcosm. It's fun for a while and then it's not, and then it is again, and then... well, I think you get the gist of it by now. MediEvil's wry sense of humor and (pre-decline) Timburtonian aesthetic is a winning combination, but one frequently let down by a horde of technical problems. The chaotic gameplay borders on terrible; left mostly unaltered (with most improvements being in the "new paint of coat vein"), it would have sucked in 1998 and it sure as sin ain't much better now. If it's not broken in your favour, it's in your enemy's; there is no middle ground. Needless to say, this does not prove conducive towards consistent gameplay enjoyment, and keeps you forever at arm's length to the proceedings. The stop and start nature of the clunky menu system drags things down even further. It's a shame too, because the highly idiosynchratic gameplay approaches they've taken outside of combat are a lot of fun. No one level is progressed through in the same way, and it keeps things real fresh and interesting. Really out of the box stuff for its day, but then, there wasn't as much of a box back in 'day. Still, there's no shortage of obtuse level design and frustratingly awkward platforming. On top of all that, it's also riddled with seemingly as many bugs as an actual decomposing corpse. If I didn't know better (and I'm not even sure I do), I'd say the code was left unaltered, with the proverbial new paint of coat being the only alteration given any noteworthy attention. The frame rate is as jittery as a coffee-addicted hummingbird during an earthquake (even with the optional 30 FPS lock option turned on!), and a stutter or two actually had me fall straight into a bottomless pit! Add to that a supremely glitchy trophy that nobody seems to have a reliable strategy for (the way I randomly unlocked it was incongruent with each and every thread on the subject), and that time the game crashed in the Hall of Heroes, forcing me to replay the game and get all the chalices again! (Though, not for nothing, the game was more fun during this second playthrough.) I hate having to write overly negative stuff like this, because the world certainly isn't wanting for it. I really wanted to like this... put my best foot forward more often than not, and was let down every time. The QA sessions must either have been shorter than Sir Dan's hair, or given to a gaggle of geese on 'ludes. My opinion on it may well soften with time (I already have some possible Stockholm Syndrome type affection for it), but let's be honest here... I should receive a freakin' major award or something for foregoing the obvious "MediOcre" joke! Trust me, that took more effort than the remastering team ever put in! Be ye well warned about this trick masquerading as a treat...
Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#506 - Hellblade - Senua's Sacrifice Interesting concept and a good portrayal of the subject matter overall. Yet the gameplay, was just mediocre. It's a good game and worth the experience, but the hype about this was definitely excessive. There is a lot of boring back and forth and no proper running apart from a jog. It could've been couple of hours shorter and be better. in my opinion. Popular Post Darghel
#85 DERQ DERQ Goose! You Win! (Death End Re;Quest 2, and yeah that's the name of the platinum)) Difficulty: Easy, but the Pain Area is a bore Time to Complete: about 25 hours or less Recommended: Well....it's an easy platinum? Total Score: 5/10 Haven't posted in a while, was and still am in a burnout so I'm playing what I can to relax. Also, I skipped one platinum for one reason, which is Ar no Surge, but that's because...I had 80% of the trophies already and I only had to replay the game shortly, but I don't have many memories of that game so I don't feel like talking about it until I fully replay it. It's easier than Qoga at least! With that said, DERQ 2...oh DERQ2, how disappointing this game was and I was legitimately waiting for the sequel since I really enjoyed the first game, a lot more than I thought. It was a very nice mix between VN and JRPG and it really had some good parts, so seeing this game making such a big step backward is really disappointing... It's almost worse in everything, except story but that's personal: the combat has improved a little and removed the skill cap, but you don't see the flash drive popping and it's now very random, and most of the glitches on the floor don't hurt like in DERQ1. But the rest, oh man where to start: fewer areas, too much VN sections, fewer characters (you basically use 3 main characters instead of 6, even though you CAN use them later), fewer choices in VN, a lot of recycling, much shorter game, boring characters (they get some good scenes from time to time), just a lot of stuff is...missing from the first game and it really bothers me. And I couldn't stop this sensation that this game doesn't feel like a DERQ sequel but more like a Corpse Party game instead. I believe this game was initially meant to be a totally different game, maybe a corpse party game since you're in a dormitory and it's about the occult, and only later they added the DERQ features because if you remove everything about the first game you're basically getting a unique game. I appreciate them trying to tie it with the first game at least (in particular I liked the scenes with Lydia from the first game) but it just feels like it wasn't meant to be a sequel... Anyway, at least it's an easy plat, so you should be fine on that...but I really hoped for a better sequel than this, and considering there's also a sequel bait (and a really, REALLY bad one) I guess we're gonna get a third now...but I don't have my hopes up. Easy plat, disappointing sequel. At least I had it cheap. Edited October 26, 2020 by Darghel
Popular Post cr1s
#471 | 21,000th Trophy | 500th Completed Game TrackMania Turbo Trackmaster Who's the TrackMaster? You! Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 8/10 I'm very excited to add this platinum to my collection! This was one long and grueling journey (spanning about a month and a half of irregular play in my case), but it was also equally fun and thrilling. It was a fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled experience unlike any I've had in a racing game. Although simple in concept, this game never feels boring or repetitive. There's lots of enjoyment and excitement to be had here, be it from racing on (and around) the various tracks and environments or slowly getting better at and eventually nailing those difficult tracks. The most I spent on a single track was 10 hours (#178), but there were plenty of tracks that took me hours to beat. My favorite tracks were the rollercoaster ones, whereas my least favorite ones were the tropical ones, even though the tropical environment was my favorite. To summarize this game: it's fast and furious. Play it, enjoy it, curse at it, throw your controller(s) at it. If anyone is actually wondering, no controllers were harmed throughout this journey, thankfully.

Popular Post yellowwindow7
Faith Accompli / Jak 3 ( ps4 ) i liked this more than Jak 2, though personally jak and daxter will remain my most favorite in the series, sometime i wish if they kept the series a 3D platformer... same as Jak 2, Jak 3 is still suffer from a horrible choice for a free camera and clunky aim and shoot mechanics, but still i prefer this over Jak 2. if there's something i really disliked in Jak 3 then it have to be the four wheel cars controls. the flying Zoomers is a one thing where it loves to air drift all the time, the dirt buggies is a lot worse! it's like driving a very light and small RC car on a bumpy surface as a small pebble may spin or flip over the RC car right away... this is how it's like when you drive a buggy in Jak 3. a simple casual turn may cause your buggy to spin all over the desert, each buggy controls a bit differently than each other but in the end they all share the same crappy traction, this made the gold trophy race and time attack challenge a nightmare! i don't know, i guess one of ND gameplay designers at the time was so pissed that they had to lower the difficulty a bit from Jak 2 after everyone and their mother complaint at how hard and annoying it was, and go convince the other at the studio that Jak 3 won't be a naughty dog game if it cant frustrate the player enough, and so they told him to leave the checkpoints and difficulty spikes alone and he / she chooses to make the driving sucks... the driving is really solid in this game, it just that the bad traction is what have ruined it. not only that, i guess they believed the driving mechanics were so good in jak 3 and they expand on it in Jak X, i don't know if i ever gonna plat that, i remember i had problems winning some of the races and time attacks on jak x back in the ps2, maybe things is different now.. I mean I don't think I have to tell you how great this game is. And the PS4 version is fine after the updates it got. The difficulty exploit is still there and I don't mind it. I had only one game freeze while playing it. So overall a great experience with a great game! Looking forward to playing the other two games as well.
