Popular Post EIdain
Platinum #61 - Dishonored 2DUNWALL DAYS AND KARNACA NIGHTS - Very Rare: 9.87% Another one I'm late to the party on, but this game is straight into my top 4 game's of this generation. I'd buy another game from the Dishonored IP in a heartbeat, if it were to release on a PlayStation console. I almost feel bad that I didn't pay full retail price at launch, because from what I gather it didn't sell great. Onto the game itself, much like the first game the story is serviceable, simple, but it's gameplay and level design are outstanding. Each level is expansive enough and much more lively than Dunwall, after completing the game I really felt like I'd been on a trip to a real place. In addition The Clockwork Mansion and Crack in The Slab are two of the best levels I've played in any game. There's even more freedom of expression through gameplay with new powers to play around with as Emily. My one complaint is that I wish there were more varied main objectives like the first game has with it's non-lethal and lethal approaches to every level. Still, I would highly recommend this game. One of my favourite platinum's I've earned. It's a good challenge, but not stupidly difficult or so grindy that it becomes tedious and boring. However as with it's predecessor the 'Flesh and Steel' play-through isn't anywhere near as fun as a powers run. And there's quite a lot of collectible and contextual trophies that are highly missable if you're not careful, the 'Songs of Serkonos' trophy was a pain. I ended up having to an additional 3rd play-through because I didn't plan well enough, as some trophies can only be earned with one character with powers and I made a choice in one play-through that made me miss the aforementioned Songs of Serkonos trophy.Enjoyment: 10/10Difficulty: 5/10Playtime: Roughly 40 hours. I didn't think it would happen, but I'm not sure what to platinum next. I'm not massively motivated to play anything else until I have a PS5. ?

Popular Post StraightVege
Dedication #240 - The Mummy Demastered (17th Fastest Achiever, 7 hours & 2 minutes) When I first heard the name of this game, I immediately had flashbacks to the many terrible film-licensed titles the industry has vomited forth over the years, most of which were cynical, shallow cash grabs. Perhaps "Demastered" should have tipped me off that this one was something different. The Mummy is actually a rock-solid Metroidvania, that would fit in more alongside stuff like Aladdin on the SNES, rather than some Brendan Fraser PS1 abomination. Perhaps it's not very innovative, but it does all of the subgenre's aspects quite competently, and kept me entertained for most of the 7-hour playtime. Going with a retro style was a smart approach, and the love put into this production by the developers is evident. I was impressed by the tight action-platformer gameplay, smooth animations, gorgeous sprites, detailed backgrounds, and moody synthwave soundtrack. It's really nice that the player can shoot in 8 directions as well (more games should do that), and the unlockable abilities are well thought-out and fun to use. I especially liked the scroll that lets you build more and more speed as you run, with the effect even carrying between rooms. The trinket which nullifies knockback is fantastic, too, since getting pushed off platforms is one of the worst annoyances in these sorts of games. Demastered is not without its flaws, though. The game employs the "flying Medusa head" trope a bit too often—there's a whole lot of being knocked off platforms by infinitely respawning enemies, and having to climb back up, which just adds unnecessary tedium and frustration. As stated above, an upgrade eventually makes you immune to this, but that's fairly late in the game. Additionally, the map is kind of bad, because it has white borders even around openings, causing you to miss rooms, as everything looks like a wall. There's also intermittent frame rate drops, and some unfair hitboxes, particularly on the sarcophagus enemies. It's still a pitifully easy game, however, since it doesn't take long to acquire the Plasma Beam weapon and some upgrades, after which, the game practically plays itself. That's a shame, because there's a super cool mechanic you basically never get to see: when you die, your old player character reanimates into a dangerous zombie, forcing you to track it down and defeat it to recover your equipment. Unfortunately, the only time I experienced this is when I intentionally allowed myself to die for a trophy. Not every game needs to be some hardcore challenge, but when the lack of difficulty is hamstringing one of the most interesting features in your game, it's something to consider. That's not to say the fun factor is significantly hampered by these issues, so I'd nevertheless strongly recommend The Mummy for people who need their jump 'n' gun fix. It's among the better Metroidvanias I've played, and I've played a lot of them (it's a very saturated subgenre!). Doesn't overstay its welcome, either. bubblebubble11
The last platinum trophy I earned was for "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning" on Ps3. I didnt expect the game to be SO MUCH fun! The start was a bit slow and underwhelming (maybe thats because I have already seen the first 20 hours in 2012) but after a certain point, I could not stop playing! The platinum popped at 52 hours, which was both sad and great. It was sad because I now knew that I didn't really have any interesting, big objectives left but at the same time I was happy that the plat didnt take too long and the journey just made me enjoy the game without any annoying grinding. I would highly recommend the game and the plat (just make sure to look into the trophies beforehand).

Popular Post SIick_50_
Rogue Company - Plat #64 Enjoyment - 8/10 Grind - 2/10 Fairly addicting 3rd person squad shooter. Love the importance of team play/cooperation and the way you can customize your loadout midmatch to try and get the best advantage depending on what enemies youre playing against. Medium amount of different guns and abilities but almost all have a particular niche and use. Easy road to plat as well. Would recommend to anyone who’s a fan of casual or hardcore shooters
Popular Post RedRodriguez87
#327: Platinum Force I paid $3 for these sprites. And a super easy platinum. It's one of those where you don't even have to play the full game. I saw this plat on another's account and said "Yeah, I definitely want this one too". The game for the most part looks ripped straight from an NES game. For the most part. It came close to really emulating that NES feel, but fudged up in a couple ways. The screen transitions and overall animations are too smooth, and there's no flickering in the graphics. Those two would've made the experience perfect. The one other nitpick I have is with the promo art. This game is basing itself off 80s cartoons making the transition to 8-bit graphics. My problem with it? It (the promo art) went about these character designs the wrong way. It's following the "American Kirby is Hardcore" trope, taking cute characters and making them badass. But here's the thing; The musclehead/realistic redesign is only done with HUMAN characters; you never do that with with anthropomorphic creatures. At most you give them a side-eye, a smirk, something that gives off an aura of 'tude. You never change the anatomy to where it looks completely different. And yeah, that's all I got to say about that. Edited November 6, 2020 by RedRodriguez87
