Popular Post IntroPhenom
Platinum #61 is... Friday the 13th Killer Franchise I ain't afraid of no Jason Voorhees, and I ain't afraid of no grind, either. Some thoughts on community: Friday the 13th was my first foray into the world of online multi-player, and apprehensive is the correct descriptor for how I felt about that world; I hadn't done anything like this, had only recently purchased a headset, had never had relied on other players for game play before, and was jumping into a game others had been playing for two years. I often wondered things like, what should I expect? What if I'm terrible at this game and people get pissed at me? How will my voice sound with the microphone? What if someone discovers I'm very sensitive about my bunny slippers and makes fun of me? WHAT IF THIS EXPERIENCE RUINS MY LIFE?!?!? My nerves were quickly ameliorated, however, thanks to a post I made asking for someone to play with, and the first person I talked to being who he was: a good person, an interesting guy, one who was willing, despite having played since launch and being one measly trophy away from the platinum at the time of our paths crossing, to teach me the ropes and offer advice. @Froopy the Pogfish, you're one of the good ones. Perhaps this will shock no one, or perhaps I was lucky, but most of the people I played with I enjoyed very much. Randoms could be nutty or quick witted (in a kind way), or down-to-earth and nice to chat with. One fun guy kept standing alongside an escape vehicle as I was doing the repair, and would hop in as soon as I was done while a driver sped away and left me in the dust. This person either didn't have a mic or didn't want to talk with it, but that didn't matter, since I had a lot of fun being melodramatic for the remainder of the matches we had together and cared not about responses. His name was Jermaine West or something like that, and I threw out hilarious quips like 'Yeah, you're West alright...West of a good player!'. (I'm very funny.) Even the moments in the game that could be called frustrating were memorable. All in all, several randoms became PSN friends, and my friends list tripled because of Friday. I encountered some undesirables, of course. Some people who spouted racial slurs or homophobic slurs without a care, and in fact with a snicker. People who were vocal about what amounted to having played a video game that ten year old kids play for so many hours as to become more proficient than most, seemingly with the sole purpose of waving that proficiency in others' faces like some pitiful flag of superiority. One match had two such troglodytes who found delight in angrily dictating to the other players simple facets of the game, like regarding what to do if someone gets the sweater, etc. When another player did something that deviated from their Friday dogma, condescending words exploded. At one point they began to yell at an obvious kid, maybe a twelve year old. I felt my face turn a bit red and I opened my mouth to throw some back in defense of the kid, but the match ended abruptly and the chance was gone. Safe behind the anonymity of faceless online interactions, unfortunately these cowards must have their moments all the time, and it's a damn shame. In conclusion, a final paragraph. (HAHAHA!!!) But seriously, I was a gamer who was often deterred at the thought of MP trophies or other online requirements, but no more. I look forward to delving into games like World War Z, or even Super Bomberman R (which may be my next grind). I'm a changed gamer, thanks to this one. In addition to Friday the 13th being considered one of, if not the best, movie adaptations of all games -- at least I can't think of another -- thanks to how faithful it is to the series, it's just a darn good time. The option for public matches is going away soon, and that's too bad, but anyone who was thinking of starting this up shouldn't delay; it's easy to boost and many folks on this site will enjoy being a copilot for the ride.

Popular Post Viper
#206 The Walking Dead: The Final Season The Final Season This was a decent final act, but I feel it could have been a lot better. I think Telltale knew what was coming and it was probably hard to focus. I was expecting the most obvious ending possible that everyone and their grandmother predicted would happen just to call back to Season 1...and they made it seem like that's what happened, but the very end had a nice swerve...at least, the choices I made lead to this swerve, I don't know if the obvious outcome could actually happen or not. The missables weren't nearly as bad as people were making them seem though. I remember people complaining about the Fishing and Rabbit hunting mini games in episode 1 like they were were completely detrimental to this trophy list. I only had to reload my save once for the fishing and did the rabbits on my first try. Great series overall though. Let's hope the new Telltale can bring the same level of quality (or better) in future games. Still waiting on some more news about The Wolf Among Us 2.

Popular Post Rias Gremory
Platinum #250 Payday 2: Crimewave Edition Milestone 250th Ultra Rare: 1.85% Difficulty: 7/10. Enjoyment: 10/10. Grind Difficulty: 10/10. Music: 10/10. Challenge: 10/10. Trophy Progression: A True 100% Payday Completion. Genre: Action, Stealth, Shooter, Multiplayer, Cooperative, Drugs and Money. Platinum Time: 8 months and 2 weeks. Let's begin. Today went extremely well and this is the most rewarding and most challenging game I ever played. The heists were well-made and put out a true challenge to any and all new Payday players in the game. I'll explain everything about the game what I like, dislike and others as well. Difficulty: Yes, Death Wish Difficulty was indeed an ultimate challenge to me and this gonna be by the most fucking crazy experience gameplay I ever did in my life. DW guards really gave me a good challenge and certainly a run for my money but doing Death Sentence Difficulty is a bitch. Well i'll say this, in truth essence this DS Difficulty is much worst then it's counterpart, infact putting down the One Down Mechanic Difficulty is a fucking nightmare. There are alot of opportunities for me to isolate everything in the game and now I got everything I needed. To make this easier, 3 years ago I was happy that they change the trophy details and making it 50% much quicker and got all other trophy difficulties done. Bosses: Most bosses weren't put a good challenge but seeing them in stealth heists really indeed gave them the weakness that I need to kill all of em. In some aspects of it, I really did like seeing them squirm turning them into dust. They can be very annoying going on loud is indeed troublesome. Music: What I really like about the music of Payday 2: Crimewave Edition is simply fantastic and really addictive that makes you wanted to do it again in all heists endlessly and repeatedly. The music that I like the most is Gun Metal Grey (2015) assault was pretty well addictive and highly impressed by the creativity. Next there's Death Wish Music. I like this music slightly better, it has that catchy vibe and refine taste music that makes you go crazy as hell and wanted to listened to it again and again. Dead or Alive Music. This one was really...hehehehe well breathtaking, gonna love the fine tune music and kickass within it when fighting the cops at any or all heists at break neck speed. Dead Man's Hand. Now this one right here was spot on and very highly addicted when playing on the loud heist and it captivates and making anyone who listens the music...well crazy as fuck. Endings: This may not be part of the console version but watching it on YouTube was really sad Bain died of virus he got injected and got kill by the Dentist. Good riddance to the Dentist that son of a bitch is long gone dead. The other ending on the other hand was hilarious as fuck and seeing The Payday Gang receiving their True Payday. Heists: As I said above I mentioned. The Heists was no-fool. It brought alot of craziness and unknowingly in the game. This wasn't easy at all, infact their are alot of tough heists that will make or break you completely if not to careful. It takes time, planning, sneaking through stealth heists without making things to complicated and not making it to hard to begin with. It can be troublesome in most parts in the game but some of it can be fruitless when doing certain heists so to speak. I will say this though, All these heists were destined to drawn players to get the platinum trophy 100% with or without it. I really enjoyed seeing heists like these and would love to say it more. DLC Heists: Oh fuck yes, The DLC Heists was really painful and exhausting that I almost went berserk on all of em lol. I'll explain it piece by piece. Thalassophobia was small as shit during the John Wick Yacht Heist and I had to do two separate runs to get the job done. First to complete on DW or higher so I chose DS with OD mechanic instead. I had to bypass civis but restraining them doesn't negate my Pacifish and the guards was posing a good challenge that'll almost kill me in the process. Got that shit done of course. 2nd run was doing the 6 minute trophy as shown above as I said. This wasn't really easy at all because I had to memorize all the details where the money was stash on the Yacht Heist and this was like a Rush Hour from start to finish. The guards started to piss me the fuck off so I middle finger them and pass them. Now I got it done and I am super happy about it. What? You Want Me To Dance? This one right here pose a really decent challenge and yes it has 2 separate runs I had to do. First doing it on loud was wildly crazy as shit and killing the boss with a multi rocket launcher weapon Say Hello to My Little Friend was fucking crazy and I nearly blew up the mansion. 2nd run while doing it on mayhem or higher was easier then I expected, The Ex-Guards didn't carry their walkie-talkies with them so this went extremely well and time limited at 13 minutes and got it all done. The Reconing was about killing 200 guards and escape on any single heist. This made me go fucking angry and I didn't thought I could pull it off but which I did. I did everything in solo by myself and this was a excellent experience run I enjoyed the most. This is my 3rd UR platinum and my 250th Milestone and I am fucking super happy about this really. Overall: It has every good shit rewards not to mention all DLC trophies to eat up in the process. I am very fucking proud to say: This made me truly happy and got 100% True Payday Completion done and fucking done. My question to you all: Would I recommended this game to anyone out there for this? My answer is 150% yes. Next Platinum: ??? Edited November 11, 2020 by UltraFire121

Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #557: Difficulty: 3/10 Playtime: 15-20 hours Enjoyment: 7.5/10 Or Mark of the Hero, as it would have been called in the UK in the 90s. Most known for being a point of heavy derivation for the Asscreed Chronicles games than anything else; indeed, partial as I became to the grade-heavy stealthiness of the ACC games, 'twas the chief reason I even picked this up at a sale at some time or other. Don't really like doing one of these comparison-based reviews, but hard to avoid in this instance. Is ACC a flimsy facsimile of its originator, or vice versa? Does that even make any kind of sense? Let's find out. I Right out of the gate, Ninja is a much more fluid and kinetically eloquent game experience. Indeed, there is a kind of artisanal grandeur to the lusciously animated ninjutsu-powered proceedings. And luckily, the game is a lot less stop-start than its UwUsoft progeny, giving you much more freedom to experiment and find your playstyle, though score penalties will be stiff if you decide to lark about like some kind of adolescent pizza-fueled martial arts tortoise or something. It's a much more forgiving game all around, though not always to its benefit; getting high scores borders on the embarrassingly easy. For all that they're a little dry and repetitive, ACC really rewards success and grit much more satisfactorily. Other than the gameplay, though... it's a minor letdown. The story is an anemic, piecemeal hodgepodge devoid of originality or charm that fails to make use of the game's techno-feudal setting beyond mere set dressing. You've experienced this story and its beats a hundred times before. The voice acting is alternately uninspired or atrocious (or both)... Asians with Kiwi accents? Need I say more? Again, the animated cut scenes have a certain charm to them, but are automatically docked points for being distractingly ToonBoom-ey (as are all things conceived by this lazy second-rate animation tool). And I know this is just a pet peeve of mine, but I'm really distracted by what sounds 99.7% like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre creaking camera sound appearing all over the soundtrack. Judged purely on its gameplay merits, Mark of the Ninja is a crackin' time I'm shuriken enjoy. The trophy hunt is both well-paced and decently complex, with a proper balance of grades to boot. Definitely be doing the NA stack down the line. Ultimately, I'd say the perfect grade 'em up stealth game exists solely within the center of a Venn diagram comprised of MotN and ACC. They're both equally good and flawed in their own unique ways. The genre's true shining moment lies still in future, methinks.

Popular Post cr1s
#472 - Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Trophy Collection Complete Collect all of the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine trophies. Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 4/10 Space Marine represents my first foray into the Warhammer 40,000 universe. This game being a hack-and-slash / shooter hybrid made me more interested in it, and I gotta say: it works really well. Awesome executions along with a great mixture of weapons make for plenty of exciting gameplay. There isn't a cover-based mechanic here, but there's still a good amount of cover throughout the game that you can stand behind and take your time with killing enemies from since they rarely rush or flank you. With how rich the Warhammer 40,000 lore looks to be, I thought it was going to translate into the story here, but they've opted for a fairly simple premise that does a decent job of easing you into it: The story - more or less. =P From what I've read, there was going to be a sequel that would've likely materialized if it weren't for what happened to THQ afterwards. I'd definitely like to play a sequel or another game in the same vein, so hopefully someone picks up this formula one of these days. The trophy list features two grinds: the "minor" one being completing all weapon challenges in multiplayer, and the "major" one being getting 40,000 kills across the entire game. The good thing about the former is that it only requires a maximum of 3 players, and I'd like to thank @Honor_Hand for his help with not just that, but all the multiplayer trophies. As for the 40,000 kills, I used this method to "idle grind" the remainder of the kills after finishing all other base game trophies. It really is a godsend, especially since it doesn't need a turbo controller. Instead of "taping down" as the OP mentioned, I held it down and then stuck this in to keep it held down. It worked like a charm. It took around 60 hours to reach the 40,000th kill, but I was able to do/play other things in the meantime, which was certainly nice. As far as difficulty goes, the hardest trophy was the one for beating the first 4 chapters on Hard difficulty without dying or restarting a checkpoint. The shell loading area in Chapter 3 was the only troublesome part (mostly due to all those exploding enemies), and after practicing that area for a bit, I found out that the best hiding spot is behind the big container near the back, as it allows you to pick off the exploding enemies as they spawn with relative ease. Besides that part, Hard difficulty had a couple of other tricky parts, but it wasn't that bad overall - especially since you get 2 squadmates who stick with you throughout most of the game and are more than happy to take much of the beating for you. All in all, I enjoyed my time with Space Marine. I'll look into the franchise some more in the future but from the little research I've done, it looks like there are a few other games I'd be interested in playing as well. =D

RedSkyKing
Chasm #63 I went into this thinking it was going to be a roguelike, so I was a little disappointed when it ended up being a metroidvania instead. Don't get me wrong, I love metroidvinias, but Chasm is one of the weaker ones I've played. The map/room design is it's biggest fault. They consist of many long hallways or square rooms that lack any creativity. A lot of the puzzle and secret rooms blend together with their environment because the only memorable thing about them will be a door or gate, no change in the environment, no interesting props to remember, just rooms that all blend into one. That isn't to say that there aren't some noticeable rooms, but they're few and far between. I don't know if I got very unlucky, but the procedural generation barely changed anything on my second playthrough, only the Keep had a different layout. The controls and weapons felt clunky and laggy, but once I got used to them they felt fine. The enemies were fun to fight for the most part, and I thought they were pretty varied. I loved the music and 16bit graphics! Overall I think Chasm mediocre, but I still enjoyed my time with it. Elvick_
Platinum #215 Life is Strange [PS4] https://i.psnprofiles.com/games/ed93d6/trophies/1Lc10369.png What If? Unlock all other trophies from Life Is Strange™ For the life of me can't get the platinum icon to display properly. Anyway, if you like this game you probably don't want to read my thoughts on it as I wasn't much of a fan of it. You were warned. I love the idea of it, but I don't think it was executed particularly well. From the writing itself, the horrendous graphics and animations [adding to that the glitches involved with animations, at one point in the final chapter Max is crying retelling something and her face glitched so it didn't move at all it was hilarious, but that's not what they were going for, not that the lifeless out of sync mouth flapping would've helped anyway]. And even the gameplay itself. The best gameplay part was actually piecing together information from investigations and/or searching for things around to learn and test out how to solve something. But, then there's moments where you think... "you can rewind time, which in practice and in one of the puzzles allows you to teleport yourself to a different space". For instance, you have to sneak by a character who sees you. Why? Just walk by, tell them to fuck off, then rewind after you're by them. Who cares? And the things that are rewindable and the things that aren't is so arbitrary. I think my biggest issues is that I just don't like any of the characters. Stupid dumpy girl who gets beat the hell out of throughout the game and you have to help her every damn chapter is literally one of the most annoying characters. In C4 I didn't even see what happened to her and she acted like a bitch for not warning her "like last time". It's not Max's job to watch you all day to be sure you don't get hit in the face with something you idiot. My biggest choice regret Spoiler is not leaving her to die at the end, even though it doesn't matter anyway if you sacrifice Chloe which I did because she's awful. The rewind can take way too long at times, and you can get stuck in it when you accidentally hit L1. At least I couldn't find a way to stop it from going. Some of the things you can't skip are also annoying. Theme is fine, but Spoiler not going all the way into sexual assault or rape, or at the very least implying nude images just makes it so ridiculously stupid to me. A guy goes through all the trouble of drugging, posing a bunch of barely legal [some underage? idk] student girls and they're all.... fully clothed. I get that his motivation was capturing the "moment" of the loss of innocence or whatever, but that can still apply. I just can't buy the idea of a character that evil existing where he's not also a rapist and not making porn from his victims. I just can't. It's too much of a stretch for me. The time fuckery later on was the most interesting part, but I felt like at times I didn't get enough information as to why certain things play out. Max doesn't turn in a photo for the stupid contest, but this somehow a) gets you captured again, when that's the only difference stated. and b.) it prevents police from showing up with David. Why? I don't see why that single thing would change something so much. I need a bit more than what they gave to believe that is the result of such a silly difference. Unless it's her bitch attitude after she finds out, but I don't know how or why he'd think she knew about his weird PG pictures of non-consent and drugging of girls. And it hardly even touches at all on why David would not end up being able to get the cops in there with the information Max gave him before. A lot of the dialog is spoken in such a way that it drags on for so long. I can excuse horrible acting for most of the characters, but man... some just cross the line, like the most obvious Red Herring character ever put into any piece of media ever. And that includes Red Herring from A Pup Named Scooby Doo, who exists entirely to showcase that writing trope. I can see something like this that I would have loved, but it's just too messy for me. I'm too damn tired to talk about it more, I stayed up just to finish the last two chapters and finally end my torture. I also called the twist in the first chapter, but twists rarely get me.
