Popular Post SirWaWa
SoulCalibur V SoulCal V still holds up well after all these years. Great graphics, epic music, speedy load times. Controls have pretty strict timing but it's a fighting game after all. The only thing that stood in my way to platinum was the quick battles, including Harada Tekken. I tried many different characters and my main, Hilde and got close a few times but could never get the third win. So I decided, lets learn how to play Natsu and wow what a game changer for me. I didn't really learn how to play her and "git gud" but learnt enough just how to beat the AI. After over 50 quick battle wins with Natsu I gave Harada Tekken a try and beat him the first try this time around. After the moment of glory started to wane I then realized the platinum was within reach and achievable. Surprising or not surprising Harada Tekken is not the hardest quick battle but one of the hardest so I knew I was still in for more punishment. Going forward from this point on, none of the Devil Jin style AI quick battle characters gave me any trouble but many others did though. The AI that gave me the most trouble was the constant side stepping ones and charge/grab spamming ones. The AI is mostly consistent on each difficulty, beginner, intermediate and advanced, however every now and then the AI will go completely berserk and wreck you. The good thing is once in a while, even the hardest AI will go docile periodically so this is your chance! To my surprise it didn't take as long as I thought it would to go through all 240 quick battles. I only had 145 battles left to go and did it in half a weekend. I am far from good at SoulCal but didn't lose very much thanks to Natsu so that was a huge time saver and stress reliever. I highly recommend to play safe and smart on the harder AI opponents. Don't play too risky or get greedy or you'll get punished. Very rewarding platinum for me.
Omelette Paradise
#429 & #430 - Super Wiloo Demake (Vita & PS4) This was a somewhat enjoyable Mario clone only a more basic version. A bit too basic for it's own good really. The jumping mechanics felt a bit off to me but it was fine otherwise. Popular Post Godo Fwar
#374 - Ride 2 Ride 2 Maestro Unlock all trophies This was a definite improvement on the first game, in terms of a larger number of bikes and tracks, as well as the graphics and handling physics. However, the engine sounds weren't any better, which was slightly disappointing.
Popular Post WayfarerFox
Dying Light #194 We'll talk about it next time I see you Time to Platinum: 40 Hours | Difficulty: 5/10 | Enjoyment: 9/10 Overview Set in the fictional city of Harran. You play as Kyle Crane. An undercover GRE agent who's been sent to blend in with the locals (what's left of them) to help recover a file who was stolen by a man named Kadir Suleiman. Upon parachuting into the city. Crane is bitten and unlike generic zombie titles. There is a way to postpone the virus turning you into a zombie. You get rescued and end up at the tower. Which helps with your cover. You then try to earn trust of everyone by learning the basics of parkour and becoming something called a runner. Someone who basically goes around the city doing jobs and getting supplies etc. As you try and find stacks of Antenzin (The suppressant to the virus) you learn of someone whos become somewhat of a warlord. After that a lot of shit goes down and it's your job to stop a series of events, uncover the truth about the virus, become an absolute badass. There's a ton more to say on it really. It's story is pretty interesting and fleshed out. It's not just do this, do that, go here, go there. There's meaning to most of the stuff you do. Gameplay If you've ever played Dead Island I guess you could say combat is similar to that. Except it's much more fluid, you have better upgrades that actually do something and it's all around a ton of fun. The best part of the game honestly is the parkour. Running around building to building levelling up. Getting faster, moving from A to B with loads of different routes and ways to do it makes the game feel really fresh and flow really well. Don't get me wrong, it starts off a little stiff and probably what some may call boring. The more you level up though the better it gets. You get more moves to help in combat like throwing enemies. You can literally run up zombies and bounce of their heads like you would in the old school Mario games. There's a trophy referencing that game actually which was pretty cool. Same with Parkour. When you level that up. It makes traversing the narrow streets, building rooftops, swamps much much better. You eventually get your hands on a grappling hook which makes it flow so much better. It's so much fun going from A to B in some scenarios. There's two main hub areas. Slums and Old Town. Slums is more the open area with houses and like a favela type construct to the buildings? Forgive me if I got that wrong. It's just all cramped and yeah. If you've played it. I'm sure you know what I mean. The Old Town is probably the best for all the parkour stuff as it's a lot higher up, there's more paths, you can go through buildings, you can do this and that. Overall it's a very fun game, gameplay wise. It does start off stiff and a little slow ability wise but level up and you will enjoy it so much more.Characters There isn't much to say on characters really as you only really deal with some people a handful of times. I guess you could say the main two are Kyle (you, protagonist) and Rais (antagonist). Kyle is your undercover agent with a mission to carry out. He has his orders but the good thing about him is he uses his own brain. He's not a government brained fool who think it's mission or dead. He thinks for himself and he tries to do what's best for everyone. He doesn't much at the start but as the story progresses he gets more and more attached to the situation and the people. As he uncovers more about the GRE, their intentions etc. He literally starts questioning his mission and yeah. I won't go into spoiler territory but he's a protagonist that has a brain. Also, he's voiced by a great voice actor to in Roger Craig Smith. He does, Chris in Resident Evil. Batman in errr Batman. Also, Ezio if you didn't know that. So a competent voice actor. To be honest, everyone has a good voice actor in this game. As for Rais. There's a lot to say but it's best to keep it short because of spoilers. He's the big bad of the game really and he tries to control everything happening in the quarantine zone. There is no government of police force inside the zone so he has full reign of what happens. He's ruthless and has no time for BS basically. You run into him a lot in the game and let's just say. Whenever he's around. Watch how angry Kyle gets, every single time, no joke. Great characters which make the game deeper and more fun than you probably think from Zombie game like this.Trophies Main Game: For the main part, trophies on the main list are not hard at all. There's a lot of misc trophies. There's a trophy for doing all side quests. Story trophies, collectibles. Probably the most annoying trophy of the whole main list is doing 5 quests with the same 3 partners in one session. Luckily I had no trouble doing this with my partners in this game. That trophy was all set up and complete within 5 minutes of everyone joining. Honestly. I would say there's more misc than anything else really. You need to level up Power and Agility to 18. Couple of Co-op trophies that were no challenge at all really. Overall the main list game are pretty easy. DLC: The game has 3 DLC lists. A Parkour challenge which isn't that easy. You have to complete 10 parkour challenges which is where you go through all of the checkpoints in a certain amount of time and some of the turns and speed you have to get is pretty incredible but once you learn the patterns of them they're not honestly that bad. Those DLC trophies are sat at UR. There's 3. Open 5 GRE chests in quarantine zones which is simple enough. They have some pretty good weapons. The others are for completing the 10 challenges. One trophy is for completing all of the challenges at night. Which makes it even more tough honestly. You have a flashlight which shines in front of you but it can be really dark. Also, at night is when the harder enemies tend to come out so you have to dodge them as well but if I'm being honest. I think the game if you do the challenges tends to keep them away from you. So you don't really run in to any when doing the challenges. You do run in to enemies and some can actually help get faster scores if you vault on them for momentum. There's videos on youtube if you get stuck on them. The guide rates them at 7/10 difficulty but honestly. I'd put them at about a 4. It's not that difficult if you have level 24 agility which means you never get tired while running around. Another DLC list is for doing Bozak horde which is basically your challenge mode. You're put into a scenario with 20 challenges. You have a bomb strapped to your ankle. You have to then complete the 20 challenges in order to win. The trophies on this are a pain in the ass but luckily because I went into the Horde last I was quite OP. I recommend doing the Bolter Liver glitch in The Following DLC to level yourself up to make the Bozak Horde much much easier. It means you can end up punching zombies and they would die in one hit which means you'd be able to finish quicker in turn unlocking stuff you need for trophies. It's basically a big challenge mode where you have to beat 20 challenges. You do have to complete it with a co-op partner for one trophy because you have to down them at the end to kill them to win. The Following is a continuation of the story and there's a generic DLC list where it asks you to finish the story. Few misc and stuff. That's really easy to do. If you want to get to legend level 250 its highly suggested to have the following and to use the bolter liver glitch. I finished the game legend rank 203 due to it which meant I was ridiculously overpowered. Overall difficulty: Parkour 4/10 Bozak horde without legend rank 6/10 with 4/10 and following 3/10.Conclusion The conclusion of this game is that it's a ton of fun to play. It feels stiff at the start but when you finish quests and level up the story gets deeper and you become more agile and stonger it becomes really interesting and a lot of fun to play. I had a great time playing it. Some great characters and voice acting which make it much better. In these types of games you expect nothing but bad VA and boring content (looking at your Dead Island) but this was the opposite. It was even freaky when it needed to be which made it feel more like a horror than just a wooooooooo smash zombies. It sets the tone for how I want my type of Zombie games which follow this formula. The only thing that annoys me about this game is the continuation of the story on DLC. Don't get me wrong the content is great. It's a brand new huge map and honestly. It's probably my second favourite huge expansion after Blood and Wine from the Witcher. I don't think anything will beat that for quite a while. I just don't like finding stuff out behind a paywall. Like there's a serious question when I saw all of the Dying Light 2 stuff and was wondering why we don't play as Kyle. I'll say why in the spoiler as to why it annoys me. Spoiler It turns out at the end of "The Following" DLC when you meet the mother you're given a choice. You can either kill her which ends up in her shoving something down your throat which turns you into a Volatile that can talk through your brain. The other option is sacrificing yourself by doing something to the whole island. So what this basically means is Kyle dies either way. Which is why it's confusing as to why people don't see him in DL2 because if you haven't paid for the DLC you're never going to know. That's the reason I hate content behind a paywall especially important story. Other than that it's a great game that should be played. They regularly update it and do community events from time to time. We recently just did the Halloween one and got a nice brand new costume. (Which as of this is currently bugged because it doesn't load) They also released a raid recently as well I think which should hold people over until Dying Light 2 hits the shelves.
Popular Post BlackSnake1435
Platinum # 51 Bioshock 2 Remastered Enjoy: 9/10 Difficulty: 6/10 After playing Bioshock 1 and getting the platinum, I said that I definetely needed to move on to this one. Just like the previous installment, it was a great game, specially because of the story itself; we all agree that the story is what made Bioshock game's that great, although the gameplay is pretty enjoyable as well. However, I must admit that I actually enjoyed a little bit more Bioshock 1, considering how unexpected everything was with Fontaine. Bioshock 2 offers you the possibility of playing as a Big Daddy, and that's pretty cool as well; I didn't like how you don't know exactly what happened to Tenenbaum shortly after Sinclare becomes your new guide. But the relationship of the player with Eleanor was pretty interesting, and we had a sad ending by the way.

Popular Post Cravinovv
#64 - Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Master of MordorOne has walked in Mordor. This game was a lot more fun than I originally gave it credit for back in 2016 when I first tried to play it. During my first go-around, I had a hard time getting into the gameplay and I couldn't care less about the plot. When the server shutdown announcement came around, it finally made me want to go back and knock this game off my backlog. I was glad I did, as I ended up getting a lot more into it the second time around. I love a game with good stealth and bow gameplay and I felt this was rewarding even though it felt a little dated with its 'video gamey' unrealistic stealth combat. The regular combat was okay but I found it to be more cumbersome than fun. The road to platinum wasn't too difficult though a little grindy and in some points a little easy to mess up, requiring me to go back and redo set up for a trophy that originally took me nearly an hour to complete. I played the Lord of the Hunt DLC and found it okay but a little plodding, and I chose not to get one of the trophies for it as there is nothing I hate more than time limit based challenges. I chose to finish the game at 85% completion due to not obtaining this trophy and not playing the second DLC, the Bright Lord, despite owning it on my GOTY disc. I wasn't interested in focusing my gameplay around the jankiest aspects of the combat, that being the wraith's possession powers, for another 6 hours, hard or not. Overall, the game was fun, with much room for improvement. It made me interested in actually playing the sequel at some point, which is a plus as most AAA games these days can not hold my attention past a single game (looking at the Assassin's Creed series as a prime example). Popular Post Ya_Boy_James
#41 - PERSONA 5 Legendary Phantom Thief Earn all trophies. How good is this game? This might have been the most playtime I've spent before platinum in a game yet, and I would still begin Persona 5 Royal from the start tomorrow if I had it. I can confidently say P5 is the most "complete" game I have played; every element of gameplay, story, dialogue, music/art feels like a master stroke. By the time you roll credits you will feel epic. Trophies are secondary to me when it comes to enjoying a game and my first P5 playthrough was organic (i.e. I missed plenty of pops), but nearly everything in this trophy list had me appreciating the game even more by completing it. This games had me going "beyond 100%" in my activities throughout my time, and there are still more things I look forward to seeing when I inevitably play Royal. I think this has just surpassed Witcher 3 as my favorite platinum/100% yet... Persona 5 is a first rate game that I highly recommend to anyone fond of turn-based/party-based RPGs, even if anime style is out of your norm. Popular Post Intoner_Zero
Plat #154- Coffee Talk If you liked the nighttime chill vibes of the cyberpunk mixologist game VA-11 Hall-A, then you might also like the more modern setting of this humble coffee barista game as well. Set in Seattle, though you really don't see anything outside the coffee shop, this chill game has you playing as the owner and barista of Coffee Talk. You meet a sizable amount of repeat patrons throughout the days, most of which are of supernatural origin. That's right, you can serve coffee to a game developer orc alongside a werewolf hospital worker who loves his ginger tea lol. It's not Seattle if it isn't weird, ok. Coffee, teas, chocolate, or milk drinks; you make whatever your customer desires. The VN style and gameplay isn't complicated at all, the design is pretty nice, and the bgm is a bit infectious and awesome. Overall, a short and relaxing respite before hitting the next game on the pile.

Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #217 Astro's PlayRoom You've Only Done Everything Found all trophies in ASTRO's PLAYROOM. See you in our next adventure! Oh man I loved this. I love the PlayRoom games (Ninja Bots~), PlayRoom VR (Robot Rescue), and especially Astro Bot: Rescue Mission on PS VR. The DualSense has me sold based entirely on this, similarly Astro helped sell me on VR itself. It feels so good to skate on the ice in particular, it's just an indescribable feeling. I really like it and the game used it all really well. I'm happy to get a platinum the day I got my PS5, so I can remember it. I don't like the UI at all, but that controller. I hope games use it well, because it's actually innovative [so was the rear touch on PS Vita... *sigh*] Gorgeous visuals, fun gameplay though not quite as fun as playing Astro Bot in VR. Music is great, though I could see some not liking it. I find it catchy and fun like Astro Bot. I also really enjoyed all the PlayStation references. I didn't see one for Legend of Dragoon, but maybe I missed it. There were some that made me very happy to see. Wild Arms (even if only in trophy list; at least from what I can tell), Puppeteer, Concrete Genie, even Astro Bot and PlayRoom Ninja Bots~ I got most of the references I saw other than a few ships. I got the Resogun one, but there were a few I wasn't sure what they were. And then there was one I think was supposed to be MediEvil but wasn't quite sure, but after awhile I'm confident it was because after hitting the Tearaway reference I realized they take some pretty big liberties in design at times to get the reference across. I was a bit disappointed in that one just in how goofy it looked, but the Resident Evil, The Last of Us ones were funny. MGS, Spyro, Crash, Ape Escape. Just a huge love letter to PlayStation history. It was fun. I wish I had more already.
Popular Post Sergen
Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax Difficulty: 6/10 (100%), 4/10 (Platinum) This is the end for me now . With this platinum I may no-longer need to play a fighting game with the word "Persona" in the title again... I am glad it's over. I simply rate the 100% difficulty of the game with a 6/10 because I consider Adachi and Marie to be quite difficult characters to do all the challenges with, but they are DLC characters that are not necessary for the platinum. I have seen quite a few people's trophy lists where they have the platinum and some DLC trophies but never did Marie or Adachi, they'd both be mid tier if I were to compare them to the challenges of characters from P4A vanilla, there are still a few characters there that are much more difficult than Adachi and Marie. This game is more of a grind compared to the vanilla version because there's a new mode called Golden Arena which makes you fight a ladder of opponents in each course and you can collect power ups from various fights, when I started off I would simply assign my button to the auto combo and turbo that, it would keep replaying the first course for me and leveling me up, which then made getting level 50 in the mode quick and easy. Aside from turboing my level, it was beneficial to overdo it and get to around level 70 because you unlock points that you can spend to increase the power of your character in the mode, I used Labrys for the mode because she is a strong character and her Brutal Impact does high damage and can even land a 1 hit kill sometimes. As I proceeded through Golden Arena I noticed that you can get a power up that is able to 1 hit kill enemies randomly during super moves, thanks to this power up I defeated Elizabeth in the 3rd course using "auto mode" which allows the AI to fight for you and the AI lucked out and got the 1 hit kill on her. I tried Golden Arena long before I pursued score attack mode of P4A so I had no idea how the AI worked, but after playing through score attack on vanilla I decided to return to Golden Arena and I was able to destroy Elizabeth very easily in there because I knew her patterns at that point. Once again thanks to my friends Meepy and Aexzia the online for this game was a breeze because they already had a level 30 character which allowed me to win ranked matches and get a lot of XP, but the online on this game requires more coordination with your partner due to them needing to use every single character when you fight them, I highly doubt you'd get that against random people because in every fighting game a lot of characters are neglected by the majority of people. Popular Post Cherrywood
#114 I'm sure that plenty of other people have said this but, oh my, what an absolutely wonderful game. I played the Astro pack-in that came with the PS4 where you could suck the little bots into the controller and shake it around, and when I heard that this was going to be a pack-in with the PS5, I was expecting something similar in scope to that. Then a couple of weeks ago I heard that this was a platformer with an actual campaign and, after that, I was mildly intrigued. But it wasn't until watching part of a stream of it on Playstation Access last week where I got excited for it. The game is three things all at once, and it's really good at all of them: First, as just a game by itself, it's a really fun and competently designed 3D platformer. It's 4 levels long, each named after and built around a theme that is a feature of the PS5 (eg. Cooling Springs and SSD Speedway). It's a little bit on the short side perhaps, ideally it would be bigger than just 4 core levels, having 4 certainly makes sense for a reason I'll get into later but it would have been nice if it had maybe been 8 levels, they could have been in sets of 2's, but it's free so I'm not complaining at all. But since Super Mario Bros., when a platformer works and is designed well, on a pure gameplay level, it's just fun. And this game is. It's just fun. Second, and if you don't have a PS5 yet, once you get one and play this, this is what's going to hit you right away, it's an incredibly fantastic and effective demonstration of the new Dualsense controller. I also got Miles Morales and the new Assassin's Creed game with the PS5. Haven't played Assassin's Creed yet but I'm closing in on the Platinum with Miles Morales. The loading speed of the SSD and seeing and appreciating what raytracing is with Miles Morales, that stuff is really impressive and really cool, and it's certainly going to be really great moving forward, but nothing has hit me as specifically "next-gen" as just the feeling I got while holding the controller and running around as Astro. The quality and specificity of the vibrations that the controller can produce, the adaptive triggers and how they can vary the resistance now....you really can't appreciate it until you just feel it for yourself. And I promise that, even from just the "Intro to the controller" thing that's going to play at the very beginning when you first start it up, you're going to be amazed. And third, and more so than anything else this is probably what will make it live on in my memory for forever as just one of the most wonderful games that I've ever played, the game is both an extensive cataloging and also just an absolutely joyous celebration of 25 years of Playstation. And, especially if you've been there from the beginning like I have (got the first Playstation three months after it released in the west in '95 for my birthday), it's going to hit you and it's going to make you smile again and again and again. Throughout the game, there's plenty of various callbacks to certain games that are touchstones for a Playstation audience (eg. a Buster sword set in stone, a bot laying in the rain with an origami figure on its chest, an older bot wearing a green shirt and holding a brick alongside a smaller bot both hiding from another bot with mushrooms all over its head, and so many more) each being filmed by other bots holding cameras, that you'll have a great time recognizing. But not only that, each of the 4 levels is filled with every single collectible pickup you could think of, and several more that you will have perhaps forgotten about, that would be associated with each of the 4 generations of systems. Once you find them, and you will in the course of going for the Platinum, they all populate a virtual museum (the Playstation Labo), with its own wall mural that you'll build, where Astro can run around and interact with everything in it along with all the other bots. Astro's Playroom is adorable, and fun, and sweet, and sincere. It's fantastic. When you get your PS5, don't look past it because it's free and you're just excited about Spiderman. Miles Morales is truly great, don't get me wrong, but Astro's Playroom is just terrifically fun and I highly recommend it. Popular Post madbuk
#396 - Celeste What a phenomenal game this was. Easily my favourite 2D platformer, and up there with What Remains of Edith Finch, Sayonara Wild Hearts and Velocity 2X for favourite indie. Everything about it is just done perfectly. The story is good, the music is good, the pixel art is stellar, and most importantly the gameplay is just incredible. It's frequently introducing new mechanics, all of which work extremely well and shake up the gameplay enough to keep it interesting for its entire playtime (plat took roughly 25 hours, with no assists turned on, and also 5720 deaths) and only one of the mechanics I wasn't a fan of - the escort one, but that only appears once in the entire game which I am very glad about lol. One other thing I'll criticize - and basically the only other thing I can even think of to criticize - is how the game frequently locks you out of alternate pathways if you go down the "correct" path, which means you miss out on collectibles and have to replay. This happens constantly throughout the whole game if you play it blind like I did. However, the game has a chapter select that lets you start from specific points in a level and even shows which collectible you missed in which subchapter so it's easy to go back and explore to try and find them all. I still have one more chapter to play - Farewell - but I'll save it for another day. This game might be a masterpiece but I've been eagerly waiting for Melody of Memory for months so I'll at least play that first. At the time of posting this Celeste is on sale and I can absolutely recommend it. It blew me away.
