Popular Post Ghost
Platinum difficulty rating: 4/10 Fun factor: 5/10 EA DICE finally patched the trophy bug in Globetrotter which was preventing players who didn't play on the map Twisted Steel prior to their last upate in the spring. Nothing too hard. Death from Above took a few attempts. Every thing else was easy. I regret buying this game when it released. Luckily, it wasn't full price. Never again though. Popular Post Vergil
Grand UproarObtain all other trophies The game i always wanted from Xbox, ever since i saw it. Wonderful game definitely my cup of tea. Perfect gameplay, nothing needs changing all is smooth and responsive. Trophy wise its not so bad. Expert can be annoying with some bosses, especially King Dice. And Pacifist can be as well but its nothing nerv wrecking. Luckily we don't have to get S rank but that sure would have make things interesting. Bring on the sequel!! Popular Post DefinitiveTJ
Platinum 70: Rage 2 Man I didn't expect to like this game as I did. With the way they advertised this game I only expected neon pink chaos and no substance, and although that's all true, it's also super relaxing. There is a story which I know nothing about since I skipped it all, for me it was all about gameplay. It does two things and does them well: driving and shooting. I couldn't get into Mad Max because of the Batman style combat and with the switch to first person Id gameplay it instantly fixes that complaint for me. Avalanche Studios also nailed the driving, the cars feel diverse and are as sturdy or flimsy as you would expect. I almost didn't use other vehicles though since the default Phoenix is awesome enough. The world is vast and has different terrains to make them feel distinct. It can feel empty but for me that isn't even a complaint since driving around it was so relaxing. Rage 2 is a weird mash up between Jak 3, Borderlands 1 and Mad Max that I apparently really needed. Popular Post Undead Wolf
#334 - Celeste Heartbeat Unlock every trophy I saw this went on sale recently and I figured I'd give it a go considering all the praise the game has gotten. I can certainly see what the game was trying to do with the story and what not, but it didn't really resonate with me. It was... fine. What's left is a solid platformer with some insanely difficult sections. However, the developer made the incredibly strange decision to allow you to pop trophies with cheats enabled though, so it can be as easy as you want it to be. Certainly beats raging at some of the sections for hours on end. #335 - Alien: Isolation Alien: Isolation Unlocked every Alien: Isolation trophy I've always heard good things about the game, but I dismissed it for a few reasons. Firstly, I'm more into the horror games where you can fight back, and I thought this was more of a Outlast type of game where you're forced to run away and hide from all the threats (not actually the case). I'm also not very familiar with the Alien series in general, so I wasn't sure how much I'd get out of it, but that changed recently when I decided to watch the first Alien movie (and it was fantastic btw). Having now beat this game from start to finish and earned all the trophies, I feel like such a fool for putting it off for so long. This is genuinely one of the greatest horror games I've had the pleasure of playing! Now I thought Mr. X from the Resident Evil 2 remake was terrifying (and he is), but the Xenomorph in this game really takes things to the next level. The fact that you can hear it crawling around in the vents above you and it could drop down at any moment filled me with such dread. There were plenty of moments where I'd be caught off guard and would quickly hide somewhere and all I could do was stare wide-eyed as this huge creature passed me by or killed other humans in the near vicinity just hoping I wouldn't be next. Now there are horror games that can get me to jump, but it's been a long time since I felt genuine horror like this. It was amazing! ? Apart from the Alien itself, the gameplay was pretty solid. You acquire an array of different weapons over the course of the game that help you deal with the threats, but stealth is pretty much always the best option. The flamethrower was invaluable since it can save you from certain death from the Xenomorph. There's also a crafting system that encourages you to look around for parts and use them to build bombs, noisemaker's, etc. One of my favourite things to do was to throw a noisemaker into a crowd of humans to lure the Alien there to let it do the work for me. ? There are a few tough trophies in the game like not dying and beating it on hard mode, but thankfully there's a great walkthrough on this site that really helped with the tougher sections. I had a great time with the game overall - this will definitely be an experience I look back on fondly for years to come. Now that I've beaten this game, I'll have to watch the Aliens movie for sure.
Popular Post Golem25
Platinum #72 - Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 (EU) Ultimate Player - Perfect Collection 70,170 Owners - 3,652 Achievers for a percentage of 5.20% (average completion; 11.27%) Enjoyment; 4/10 Difficulty; 3/10 Trophies; 3/10 (copy+pasted names and tiles, unimaginative requirements) Desire to ever play another football game on PS; 1/10 Can we take a second to appreciate the Platinum description being 'Perfect Collection'? Lol wut. There are only two games in my collection that I had left un-Platted out of sheer boredom; Farming Simulator on Vita (which requires no explanation) and Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 on the PS3. This football simulator from publisher Konami was included as part of Playstation Plus for May 2014 and, by virtue of having a Trophy list with zero online Trophies, piqued my interest. I had played and given up on FIFA as a young teen over the staggering lack of depth in its manager/career mode, and figured I'd now give PES a try for a nice Plat. What I got was unadulterated boredom; this gameplay is bone dry and does no justice to the beautiful game at all (and neither does FIFA), and the requirements for the Tropgies were mind-numbing. Play through all the modes winning all the prizes, which took ages. I gave up back then knowing I could return to it one day thanks to an entirely offline list (the first and last time a PES game included no online Trophies), so of course I'd pick it up again during my currently ongoing quest of driving my number of Unearned Trophies as far down as possible. Honestly, if you like football, it's best to just go play the real game outside rather than put up with either PES or FIFA. On your own, this game lacks the fun factor and the absence of real life licences is really painful too compared to the relative abundance of clubs and leagues in FIFA. It does have a low average rarity though, and with how little effort the game requires beyond a fair bit of patience, you can scoop this Plat up relatively easily. NA version available as well should you wish to stack.
Popular Post ZachBoardyHD
Platinum 107: Vampyr This timeline and that you play as a vampire really did have the opportunity for a great story but sadly the story was generic and wasted it's potential mixed in with repetitive gameplay, I was hoping that it was going to be great as I love The Legacy of Kain series and liked the Blood Rayne series. The gameplay is basically is a standard RPG with vampire powers, sadly due the ridiculous trophy 'Not even once' I only stuck with one weapon and minimal power path as you can't feed on civilians to get hugh EXP (I stuck with health, stamina and Ultimate Abyss). At first I really did enjoy the game but the more I played the more I saw it's flaws that made the game more frustrating to play. The game crashed on my around 40-45 times while going for the platinum which is ridiculous and the load times were about 35 seconds long, I felt like I were waiting to play the game more than I did actually play it. The enemy scaling is a little bonkers at the beginning as if you're a level 5, you'll start fighting level 17-19 enemies but the more you level the less scaling the enemies become as I was a level 28 fighting level 32 enemies. However I think the difficulty spike was with the bosses who could kill you in 4 hits and can stun lock you killing you, so I just resorted to spamming my Ultimate Abyss while dodging, so they weren't an issue for me. The main reason why this game sucked the fun out of it for me was with the constant crashes and when you're fighting multiple enemies near you the game lags really bad, I think it's the worst playable game I've played in terms with crashing and lagging. I actually liked the whole citizen members side plot as you have to talk to them to get hints about your side quests and other people in the town, also the people in the town becomes sick when you go to your bed so you're always healing them with the ingredients you pick up when you're playing through the game. So it's essential to look everwhereewhen you're at a location. I think the game is unfair to new players as basically the more citizens you keep alive, the more easier the final boss becomes but the more you kill the harder she'll be yet the game doesn't tell you that and it constantly encorages you to embrace and kill the civilians. Popular Post StraightVege
Heart of Hallownest #242 Now, this is exactly the sort of stuff I want from PS Plus! Ignoring this masterpiece for so long was a big mistake on my part. I had assumed it would be overrated, but I'm pleased to say that Hollow Knight is among the absolute finest of the Metroidvanias, and the action-platformer genre in general, with practically every last aspect polished to gleaming perfection. Exploring ever deeper into the sprawling subterranean insect kingdom of Hallownest remained compelling throughout my 29-hour journey. This is a rich, beautiful world, with exemplary attention to detail, bountiful secrets to unearth, and a truly charming cast of quirky characters to meet. I wouldn't expect a title set in underground environments to be so gorgeous, varied, and atmospheric, but they totally nailed it. Perhaps better than any other, this game delivers on the mystery and intrigue of traversing a Soulslike world. There's a captivating ambiguity about this derelict civilization, and I was driven to press forward in an attempt to discern what went wrong, despite the risks. Every time I thought the game was drawing to a close, it revealed yet another robust area to investigate. Normally, I like these kinds of games to be short and sweet, but I never felt that Hollow Knight was overstaying its welcome. Combat feels fantastic! It's simple, yet highly responsive and precise, with the player receiving excellent audio-visual feedback. You always know exactly when/why you've been hit, and when you've struck true on your adversary; rarely is any encounter unfair or frustrating. Thanks to the impressively expansive enemy roster, I never got bored of fighting, either. In most action games, I eventually become tired enough of the combat to simply run past the enemies, but there were so many different creatures with unique behaviors, that engaging baddies always felt fresh. Many developers could stand to take notes from the combat design here. Platforming is similarly tight, since deftly maneuvering around with the various abilities you discover is effortless and satisfying. I never really felt like I was struggling with the controls to accomplish anything, which is a rarity for me. The difficulty curve is just right, too, with gradually tougher areas being introduced at a masterful pace, and new powers being doled out only after the player has been adequately familiarized with the previous ability, so the experience never becomes overwhelming. I didn't get that uncomfortable sense of "too much on my plate," which some similar games brought up. I only take a couple of small issues, mainly regarding the map function—it's essentially useless, until you first purchase multiple upgrades, and equip the compass charm, which takes up one of your limited slots. I think this just adds a lot of unnecessary annoyance to navigation. A reliable map is basically a must for Metroidvanias, and being lost isn't fun. I would've much preferred a more traditional map feature, although I still appreciate them trying something different. Also, the late-game "Godhome" content is the one, solitary instance of an unfair challenge. In my view, expecting the player to best 40 bosses without a checkpoint, especially when the hardest few are placed at the end of the rush (Absolute Radiance is horrifying), is simply abject cruelty. If I were designing this, I would have done something like sending the player back 2-3 bosses after a death, rather than kicking them to the very beginning. Unfortunately, this was the only part of an otherwise flawlessly balanced game, where I employed the invincibility glitch. I'm getting a bit too old to grind bosses for 10-20 hours—no thanks! However, disregard those relatively minor missteps, because Hollow Knight is ultimately a best in class. The gameplay and art style are timeless: games this good end up being considered classics, every bit as eminently playable and exquisitely beautiful 20 years from now, as they are today. I haven't been this impressed in quite some time, and it easily joins titles like Symphony of the Night and Iconoclasts in my personal top tier of Metroidvanias, not to mention the highest echelon of games I've ever played, period. Don't put off trying this gem like I did! Popular Post TheActualMeg4cy
#57 (The format is messed up for this particular platinum post... kind of sums up the whole game) World War Two Hero "Collect all other Battlefield™ V Trophies." The game is pretty much finished at this point. They somehow managed to take the name that we all once "loved" and tarnished it with this awful handling of the series with the latest entry. BFV is not a bad game at the core (mechanically handles well and the map variation is diverse) but the overall package is just sad when you compare it to other entries in the series such as BF4 or even the previous offering, BF1. The game frankly didn't hit the ground running from the beginning and the dumb mistakes back and forth throughout the development process certainly ruined the fun for a lot of players. I jumped into this game after having skipped it at full price for the low cost of £10 just to play it and see what the deal was and in all fairness - it really wasn't as bad as people initially made out. The game however does suffer from some weird inconsistencies with glitches in not being able to respawn or camera issues alongside bullets not registering. Visually, Great. Sound? Amazing. VO? Authentic. The game could be fun to people that aren't looking to take it too seriously and/or have the patience in dealing with any glitches they encounter. Some of the trophies might prove to be difficult and thankfully... despite taking almost 4 months to fix, they managed to clear up the issue with the infamous map-based trophy. I know. This post looks rather meh in comparsion to my previous posting on here but the game just simply annoyed me too much and hung onto my console (100+GB) for way too long considering the nature of the problem. The experience alone has got me concerned with EA MP trophies in general now as they could have easily just not bothered fixing it but... that final community update gave them some kind of excuse to do so. Enjoyment - 6/10 (the game was fun in parts, more so the campaign offering compared to multiplayer) Difficulty - 5/10 (campaign might be tricky to some but not the worst, one or two of the mp trophies might prove tedious for some players) Next? Popular Post Mustinjoo
I haven't posted here in a while, so this will be a bit of a plat dump. #7 Erica That's a Wrap! Unlock all bronze, silver and gold trophies Difficulty: 1/10 Enjoyment: 5/10 This was the first game of this genre that I ever played (adventure/interactive story driven) and I found it pretty enjoyable tbh. Playing this on smartphone was really cool and I liked performances of most of the actors and production value was really high. So why only 5/10? Because you need at least 6 playthroughs (maybe even more) to get the platinum if you play your first one completely blind (which is the point of games like this IMHO). That makes pathway to some of the trophies pretty tedious and ultimately really boring because sometimes you have to repeat the whole process just to make one different decision at the end. I would liked to have chapter select or something similar because game loses its replay value after 3-4 playthroughs at most. #8 NieR:Automata Final Words Thank you for playing. Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 11945/10 Simply said, this game blew me away (enjoyment rating is a reference to the year in which the game is set in, which itself is a reference to our human history; that's just one of the numerous details in NieR:Automata that shoves what an exceptional game this is). I've heard a lot of great things about this game before I played it and it's safe to say that all of it was true and then some. I managed to avoid most of the spoilers coming into it (especially plot related ones) and I would recommend to everyone else to do the same because only then you will be able to fully experience everything this game has to offer. It's hard for me to delve into specifics of NieR:Automata without somewhat spoiling it, so I won't do it. I'm just going to say that this was probably the deepest and most emotionally impacting game I've ever played in around 20 years I've been playing video games. I mean, I struggle to find a lot of movies and TV shows or any other visual mediums that tackled themes like philosophy and humanity in a way this game does. Even basic things like names of the characters and what they represent have a way deeper meaning than it seems at first (first two bosses are great example of that). I haven't even mentioned OST which is also on the shortlist of best original soundtracks in the video game history. Every track is connected to some part of NieR:Automata's world (or an event) and simply listening to these songs after I've finished game evokes memories and same feelings I felt while I was playing it (City Ruins and Amusement Park are two of my favourites). This is a truly remarkable game and a modern masterpiece in a true sense of that word. I preordered NieR Replicant as soon as I completed NieR:Automata and I if that game is 10% of what this game is I'm going to be more than satisfied. #9 Marvel's Spider-Man Be Greater Collect all Trophies Difficulty: 2.5/10 Enjoyment: 9.5/10 After I finished NieR:Automata I needed something less serious and more video gamey (not in a negative way) and I'm glad to say that Marvel's Spider-Man provided exactly that. This game is loads of fun and can be enjoyed by almost everyone from 7 to 77 years old. Story, world, characters, collectibles etc. are all on very high level and despite its relative lack of originality I still loved almost every aspect of it. I took off half-point only because some of the side content is really repetitive. And also Mary Jane stealth missions, those really suck. All in all, really fun game, will probably play Miles Morales as soon as it hits sale. #10 Old Man's Journey Life, loss, reconciliation, and hope Collect all trophies. Difficulty: 1/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 Cute little game I grabbed on sale. I liked its graphical style. Simple and easy platinum, not much more to say. #11 One Night Stand One Night Stand Get all other trophies Difficulty: 1/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 Also a cute little game I grabbed on sale. This one is a bit different then a previous one, I mean it is 18+ I guess . Some of the trophies are really funny and I liked all the different variations of its endings. You can probably platinum this in a hour or two max. #12 Middle-earth™: Shadow of War™ The Bright Lord Middle-earth has been saved. For now... Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment 8.5/10 I had this game on my shortlist for a while now and I almost pulled a trigger couple of times before, but luckily I didn't because it came on PS+. I would've hated myself if I bought it month before it became free lol. I'd consider myself a LOTR fan so I had a pretty high expectations before I played this and I can say I wasn't disappointed. Obviously, story is somewhat of a fan fiction, but that doesn't really bother me because it doesn't have to fit perfectly into LOTR lore when you know this is not canon. I played this on Nemesis difficulty and I would recommend that to everyone else because the strongest point of this game is its Nemesis system and that truly shines when you play on a higher difficulty. You never feel overpowered and every orc captain is a different story when it comes to way you have to aproach him and take him down. Big + from my side goes to variety of different orc names, characters and their lines, I don't think I've seen anything appear more than once and I played this game for 50+ hours and I've met numerous orcs. Things I found lacking are repetitive structure of side quests and I some of the controls are really clunky and that probably bothered me more than anything. I'm generally not a fan when developers map out controls in a way that the same button is for sprinting and dodging, but it can be done far better than they've done here (Sekiro is an example). They've even added jump to that same button () and I can't say how many times I was dodging into a wall when I just wanted to climb on it. Right now I'm playing DLCs and I like the fact that you play with different characters and that they feel and play different enough than the guy you play with in a main game, Talion. When it comes to trophies most of them are straightforward, none of them are terribly grindy I would say. There are couple of tricky ones that you wouldn't get if you just play the game normally, but nothing too complicated. I experienced many bugs with the game but overall I liked Godfall a lot. Combat is fluid and graphics is nice. I recommend it to people that enjoy action games with randomized looting system. I'm 100% sure that the developers will improve the game coz they have an expansion coming out next year. I will be revisiting Godfall when it becomes more polished. Guest
Spider-Man Remastered (PS5) Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Still one of my favorites, but after playing Miles Morales I was rudely reminded how repetitive a lot of the side stuff is. Pros: -Well told story -Wonderfully beautiful open world -Web-swinging and traversal are nearly perfect and constantly enjoyable -Combat is very fun, even if it gets a bit samey doing all of the side stuff -Characters are so great to watch and listen to, especially with the heartbreaking descent of Dr. Octavius. -So many awesome suits -Straightforward trophies -I actually like Peter's new look, even if I don't fully know why they changed it. I never bothered really looking it up. Cons: -A bunch side stuff gets extremely repetitive or just isn't super fun. Most missions boil down to: swing to area to fight/chase guys, now swing to other area. -The crime-grind (as I'm calling it apparently) at the end of the game where you have to complete 5 crimes in 4 categories in every single district (except Central Park) is by far the most grindy thing you have to do, and is really tedious. I completely understand why these crimes are here, and in the early-to-mid game they're fun distraction, but doing basically 20 per district is too many. TL;DR: A vast majority of the game is extremely enjoyable, if you ignore the cons. Edited November 19, 2020 by ChunkyKong64

I feel like I need to buy a Switch now so I can enjoy Rise when it comes out next year, but I'll definitely be holding out hope and looking forward to a new entry to the MH series on Playstation. if those recent Capcom leaks are true then monster hunter rise and story 2 isn't switch exclusive, it's seems that it's also to be coming to PC as well, and maybe it's just a console timed exclusive then later it will be on all platforms, after Capcom seen all this money coming from MHW I don't think that they'll be keeping the series exclusive to Nintendo's platforms anymore.
