Popular Post Pinguim_Ocupado
#39 - Life is Strange: Before the Storm Bring on the Storm Complete all other trophies. A good game! Like the first LiS, this game has a good plot and some enjoyable moments. I loved seeing the relationship that Chloe had with a girl that we could only imagine by what they told us on the LiS. Callamastia rocks. My first Platinum on PS4 , yay!

Hass one of my preferred inventory systems in this genre. The second game in the series is better though. More to do, more locations, and more interesting in general, also the writing is better. Popular Post Jake-TheGreat97
#88 Spider-Man Miles Morales Unfortunately I was unable to play the game on the PS5 because you know, console is sold out and all, however the game plays just fine on the base PS4. The game still looks and runs fine and the load times are not that long. I did like the improvements that they made to the active crime system which made getting the platinum in the original game kind of annoying. The only trophy that I can see being annoying is beating the game on new game+. However, the game is really short, especially if you skip the cutscenes. Since the game also comes with a free copy of the PS5 version, I'll being getting the platinum again sometime in the future.
Popular Post RedRodriguez87
#328: Be Yourself No, not like that. Funny, this game was one that almost flew completely under my radar. Like seriously, I found out about its release date 2 DAYS before, and even then forgot to pick it up ON release date. I said everything I wanted to say about the story here So I'll talk about the gameplay. The gameplay is still the best part of this game, and while it isn't as expansive as 2018, there is enough here to switch it up and make in unique to Miles. Alot of it comes from his Electric Venom powers, which gives him an explosive set of super moves to pull of in combat, like a Power Punch (which is really satisfying to use as a revenge counter), and super throw and reverse gravity juggle; it also helps him jet across the city in the form of a double-jump/air-dash. There is enough variety in the side-missions to keep from being too repetitive, though of course being a budget(esque) game there aren't a whole lot of them. However, I can't really say that it's BETTER than 2018. Alot of what you can do here are just watered down variations of PP's gadgets and skills, and the new stuff, while fun, doesn't really add or expand upon the core gameplay to me. The Venom moves used for both combat and city traversal are fun, but majority of the time I forgot I even had them, as the basic attacks and web-swing point jump movement still works fine. And thanks to the games super-quick load times (another plus FTR) Fast-Travel becomes easier to rely on. I do have some negative nitpicks, in regards to the games automated feel. Again, like 2018, it certainly asks you to be more involved than most games that try to balance a cinematic feel and gameplay, it just feels like this hasn't really been improved on despite coming afterwards. Spider-Man still feels finicky with how and which wall he wants to latch onto. Very rarely can just walk up to a wall and stick to it, which makes sense out in the city but in enclosed areas could be very useful during stealth. We also got a Cinematic Mook enemy; an enemy with an elaborate overly drawn-out attack sequence that the game decides is just too important for you to interrupt. Oh you'll be swinging your fists, watching your 3d model clip through theirs, thinking to yourself "oh c'mon, I should've knocked them out of it!" but the game says "NO!! You have to dodge first!" Last nitpick I have is with the Stealth. It's just the same as last time, and still another area I wished they would have least TRIED to improve on. Zero Punctuation really summed up the problem in one word in his Spidey 2018 review: Escalation. This are some really dumb mooks you are picking off here, lacking any of the evolving scenarios that Batman perfected his first game out. AGAIN, it's not terrible, as later playthroughs you can even make a game of how fast and reckless you can clean out a room without being spotted once. Thing is, you can also do that in repeated playthroughs in Batman. What Batman has over Spidey though, is that initial ever-changing setup that makes it exciting to discover how exactly you are going to deal with the enemies. With both Spidey's it becomes boring your first time to isolate-pickoff-isolate-pickoff because you can never really do anything else without being spotted. All in all, still a fun game for it's price (especially considering they COULD have charged full). Like 2018, it's a fantastic time-waster even after the platinum, and I hope they add some DLC trophies down the line. If not that, like @Jake-TheGreat97said, I could easily get the plat again for the PS5. Edited November 20, 2020 by RedRodriguez87

Popular Post madbuk
#397 - Astro's Playroom I was very excited for this, as a fan of Astro Bot on VR, and it didn't disappoint. It may have less content than the VR game and I wish it still had the challenges the VR one did, but considering this was a free pack-in with every console I can forgive it. Still got a couple of hours out of it, at least. As a game designed to showcased the new DualSense controller, I do feel a little underwhelmed. The adaptive triggers are interesting and have a lot of potential but the rumble really isn't anything special or new imo. And I've never liked motion controls, and DualSense doesn't change my mind on that one. I really liked the celebration of PlayStation's history in this. There are so many references from every single generation (that PS has been a part of) and it's very charming. I enjoyed seeing the Labo fill up gradually with more and more PS artifacts until it basically became one big museum. Other than that there's not much to say about this game since it's basically just a controller demo. I hope we get another full game like Astro Bot, because the world needs more 3D platformers.

Popular Post Cherrywood
#115 Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales This one's pretty good. Really, pretty much everything that you may have heard about it is true. It's really fun, it feels really great to play (just like the first one did), the load times and the ray-tracing on PS5 are amazing (although not quite as amazing as just using the controller while playing Astro's Playroom), Miles is a really likable main character that you're going to enjoy spending time with, his first solo storyline is a suitably epic one with a well-drawn main villain....and it is really pretty short. The first time through, when you're doing all the additional crimes and side-stories and going for all the collectibles that you'll need to do if you're going for the platinum trophy, it's not so bad because those will help pad out the play-time while also remaining suitably interesting. Second time through on new-game plus though, when you can just ignore all that stuff outside of the one or two times when you need to do something extra to get the next story-line mission to pop, you're going to blaze through it. Like, circa 3 hours (and that's including some non-skippable cutscenes) blazing through it. Don't misunderstand, what's there is good, like I said, it is pretty epic, and I do really like what it does with the main villain (although I will say that you'll see the main story coming the whole way through, I certainly did). Now, I've seen some people say that it should have just been DLC, I personally disagree because it is a pretty good, short campaign and there is a lot of extra content there, but it's certainly appropriate that it's a 50 dollar game as opposed to a 60 dollar one (and if next-gen hadn't been involved in the equation, the PS4 version of it really should have been 40 given how you couldn't freely upgrade it to a new version on a PS5). I will say though, since this is a site focused on trophies, there is one issue that I do have with regards to the trophies. The new-game plus trophy....why? I guess it's fine to have a trophy like that, that's really not quite my problem, but I do think that it would have been a more rewarding experience if you had had to play the game through again on hard, as opposed to just a cake walk, if you're going to go for the Platinum trophy. Associated difficulty seems to be something that, at least with Sony's 1st party games lately but it's also not just them, developers are moving away from when it comes to their trophy lists, and I personally don't think that I like that. Difficulty levels, accessibility options, that's all great, I'm all for more people being able to enjoy videogame...but going for the Platinum trophy, that's supposed to mean something. I'm not advocating including ridiculous, prohibitively difficult trophies (eg. an online championship title that only one person can hold at a time, or playing through an entire game on the hardest setting within a time limit and without dying or saving), that's not what I'm saying, but the pendulum is swinging too much in the opposite direction. As an example of what I'm talking about, this game has a trophy for landing a 100 hit combo, it counts up with every successful hit you land on the enemies during an encounter without being hit yourself; also, on the easiest difficulty setting, which you can change to and back from at any time, your combo counter doesn't reset when you get hit.....so what's the point? It's just frustrating to me. I loved the game, the game's great, but, in making the trophies more obtainable for everyone, which seems to be what they're going for more and more nowadays, Last of Us 2 was like this especially, I'm of the opinion that they end up devaluing them. But anyway, focusing on the good, it's a really good game, it's a lot of fun, it makes me eager to see what insomniac does in the next full Spider-Man game (and I absolutely cannot wait for Rift Apart), and I'd certainly recommend it. On a side-note though. Given that this is really the first opportunity to fully see the new Peter Parker, I will say that I didn't dislike his new face as much as I did when it was just in screen shots. It works. It's fine. That being said, it's still kinda weird, and it still feels like an unnecessary change, especially given that he pretty much now looks younger than Miles Morales, even though he's supposed to be the older mentor in that relationship. But, is just an observation. Edited November 20, 2020 by Cherrywood grammar and clarity

Popular Post Whitelightnin683
# 207 The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV Divine BladeMastered Trails of Cold Steel IV and earned every trophy. Enjoyment: 10/10 Time: 2 playthroughs ~180 hrs (playtime) Difficulty: about 3 or 4/10 The conclusion to the Cold Steel saga is here at last! With it, comes the biggest cast of characters that I think I've ever seen in a video game. It was truly a welcome addition, to see main characters from both the Sky and Crossbell games, come together to help Rean and the gang finally solve the crisis in Erebonia and ultimately prevent the end of the world. The story ties wraps up the Cold Steel arc in a satisfying and fulfilling ending, and sets the stage for Hajimari no Kiseki. There's even a mini novel series in-game, that details two characters who are said to play a huge role in the upcoming game. The localization was still good overall despite some text dialogue leaving from the bubbles of NPCs and a few translation errors. Gameplay remains the same as 3, but with a few tweaks and balances to the brave order system, tho op/broken stuff in past games are still effective in 4 (evasion tanks like Fie or Sara for example). The game itself isn't particularly difficult, but I did find the Divine Knight battles in this one the hardest out of all three Cold Steel games. Trophies are structured the same as in previous games, with a few missables requiring the use of a guide at some point during the required two playthroughs, with the rest being gameplay and story related unlocking naturally. Vantage Masters card game returns as well as the newly added Pom-Pom Party (Falcoms take on Puyo-Puyo/Tetris), both of which are required for a few trophies. I only found Pom-Pom to be somewhat challenging, but it was mostly fun and still pales in comparison to Yakuza minigames. I once again have to thank Nihon Falcom for bringing this fantastic series to the west and I look forward to Hajimari's localized release in the future. Ao and Zero no Kiseki as well.

Difficulty: 7/10 Enjoyment: EXTREME SAUCE/10 WHY IS THIS GAME SO SAUCY!??!?!?! Everything about it was pure blast, the style and gameplay were bloody beautiful, and the soundtrack... the soundtrack lit up flames in my headphones. I was intimidated by the damage-less boss fights because I have never attempted hitless or damage-less stuff in any game made by Platinum (I have done Bloodborne, Nioh 1 and 2 before but those were different). Doing an early playthrough on Commander definitely helped, so did the checkpoints... though Blitzwing can still suck it, he gave me a lot of trouble. Popular Post TheActualMeg4cy
#58 - Call of Duty Modern Warfare (PS4) Tier 1 "Unlock all Trophies." It's COD. It's nothing too special. The campaign offering this time round was more of a "realistic" approach on the story versus previous entries in the series which ironically hurt the experience. I didn't particularly find myself fond of any character nor did the return of price (whom has a new voice which isn't bad) didn't really feel like the same price from before. COD is best when it maintains and holds onto the action-movie vibe that the previous games have gone for in the same series "Modern Warfare" so it was rather bizzare to see the same name used again for the purpose of a reboot. Campaign is fairly straight forward - kill people, go to this point, do this, do that, stealth around here, etc. It's just a shame that the story was not fun in the slightest. The focus on Farah (new character) simply was too much. The constant switch from Kyle to Alex (British Bloke/American Bloke) made the game feel somewhat disjointed as well. It's also pretty laughable how the game now shows as "Call of Duty WARZONE Modern Warfare" in the credits too. It's also kind of ironic that the name of the platinum is "Tier 1" which made me think of the battlepass instantly too. I'd recommend picking it up solely to add the game to your list if you can find it cheap (unlikely for now) and clock in the platinum. The campaign is easily the weakest of the lot and you will find yourself groaning throughout. Just turn off the brain, kick back, get the platinum and be done with it. (This is my 2nd post in a row which consisted of moaning about the game as opposed to praising it... just my luck!) Enjoyment - 5/10 (I thought the game was generic despite looking visually well and the campaign offering this time round was far from entertaining!) Difficulty - 3/10 (Veteran is the only difficult aspect and even then... there are many checkpoints which makes the overall playthrough more forgiving.)
Popular Post Axel_KG5
#144 Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Difficulty: 3/10 Grind: 9/10 Enjoyment: YES/10 Monster Hunter World is the first title that I've played in the expansive MH series. I will not go into it though since this is the my latest plat for the expansion of the game called Iceborne, that made everything bigger, better, slightly harder and more time-consuming trophy-wise. While only introducing a new region (well two but let's not go over minor technicalities), a new roster of monsters (some variants some completely new), we also got some new tools for research as well as treasure hunting side quests that will be the second most grindy part besides getting the Golden Crowns sized monsters for every single monster present in the base and expansion (with exclusions to the monsters added later on as free updates for the game). Overall this is a game worth your buck if you like boss based adventure games, incredible weapon and playstyle diversity (yes there are metas but we are all hunting monsters in the end) and the enjoyment increases exponentially if you have at least a friend or partner to go through the game and hunt together. I finished the game having played only 3 out of the 16 weapons so I could definitely see myself spending more hours trying out new cool things with new builds and weapons. The audio and visual feedback is stunning and the music feels very epic and exciting (especially towards late story/endgame monsters). For those looking for an easy or fast plat I cannot recommend this game, however if anything I said above peaked your interest I implore to check out Monster Hunter and even get into the community of it. It is one of the friendliest and most helpful communities I've seen and it added to the enjoyment of the 700+ hours I spend on this game from start to finish!

Popular Post Redgrave
- #198: We Always Had Faith In You - Far Cry 5 My expectations were low when starting this since I hadn't heard much good about it but I thought it had a pretty cool opening and I like the setting being in a fictional U.S. county. I thought the story and the antagonists while not as good as Vaas in Far Cry 3 were a lot better than Far Cry 4 and they all had their own charisma to them. The biggest issue with FC5 is the gameplay doesn't really do anything new and in some way felt watered down compared to the previous two. I also think it was a mistake to have your character be a silent character that doesn't talk at all. The whole idea is that you're a deputy and with all the talk of the world ending in the game it would have been cool if they gave your character some kind of dialogue where they talk about what it means to be an authority figure in a crazy world or something like that. So while I think there were good parts of the story and characters I don't feel like they utilized them in a way that would have made it a lot better. Still, I enjoyed the campaign and would definitely recommend the game on sale at least.

Popular Post WishingLemon
#18 - Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc After having gone through school mode a slog of 5 times cause I miscalculated the last thing you have to craft on one of the runs, I'm glad to say this is over. I know I need to do it again for 1.2 Reload but that can wait. My only real gripe with this game is Toko, she's so fucking annoying and such an overdone anime type. The pervert who's obsessed to the point of harassment with one character who clearly has no interest in her. That whole "I'll stalk them till they love me" trope is just.. old. I enjoy the concept of Danganronpa, it's one of those game where it would be cool to forget you played it, so you can rediscover it again.
Popular Post WayfarerFox
Resident Evil 5 (PS4) #195 RESIDENT EVIL 5 Platinum Trophy (what a platinum name btw) Time to Platinum: 25 hours | Difficulty: 4/10 | Enjoyment: 7/10 Overview Set roughly 2 years after Resident Evil 4. You return to a fan favourite in Chris Redfield. This time in Africa further finding out information about the new form of plagas from the original game. A company did research on them and modified them to be able to sell them to the highest bidder. Your job along with a your new partner Sheva is to find out as much information as possible. Going through areas of Africa slums, hidden research labs, oil fields etc. Bit of a basic overview really but the overall theme of the series is a continuation and there is so much information regarding events up until this point that the overview could probably take most of the page. We're not going to do that for everyone's sanity. Just know this time it's up to you and your partner to find out secrets about a big bad company like most of the other games! Gameplay As a fan of Resident Evil this kind of gameplay is what made the series have a downfall of some kind over the last decade. It worked in Resident Evil 4 because it was new. It just seemed to work a lot more. This time it's just full on action. You get bombarded with enemies. Big wait sections where you have to basically horde mode the game and kill wave after wave of people to advance. Random QTE everywhere in the game and honestly. It's not ideal for what this series is all about. You have your arsenal of guns and you have a way marker. Your job is basically get from A to B killing everything in your path. It's not scary. There's no moments where it makes you manage your resources. You can literally restart checkpoints to sort your inventory out. Don't get me a wrong. It's not a bad game for what it is. It is a fun game. The issue is. It's just not one I would associate with as my favourite Resident Evil games. It kinda put me off the whole series for a while. If you want a fun shooter with same character models, annoying dialogue. Then fine it's good to play but if you're a big Resident Evil fan. You've been warned. I think the only saving grace to the game was it's story. Everything was rather predictable though and not really shocking or scary like previous titles. I think the DLC game closest with it really. Lost in Nightmares. Set before the main game. It had that old school vibe with puzzles and a haunted mansion. No zombies though unfortunately. Overall, it's fun. It just feels stiff and can take some getting used to. Characters There's a few characters in this game but most are spoiler related so I'll just stick with Chris and Sheva and honestly in this game they feel like robots. Voice acting is spot on by the characters but they feel like robots. They bond in game by giving each other stuff so it's like "Take this, thank you, over here" basically that and then the cutscenes they are pretty robotic. They form this understanding for being in each others company for 5 minutes. Oh don't forget Chris can punch boulders but he can't kick a door down by himself. On a serious note. They are good characters but there isn't much to go on really in terms of building backgrounds and stuff. The game just assumes you know Chris' background while failing to help build Sheva. Which also sucks because you don't see her after this game. Resident Evil just has a habit of dropping characters and never making them return. Also, there are some returning characters but they are spoilers so I'm not going to say much about them. In fact I won't mention them. Sure the games 10+ years but not everyones played. Trophies Trophies for this game aren't all that bad. There is 3 playthroughs worthy of challenges though. 2 if you're good at the game. 3 recommended though for an easy time. 1 on amateur to get everything done. 2nd on veteran trying to get it done in 5 hours with s rank for infinite rocket launcher. This makes Professional mode a joke really which is basically a hidden difficulty. That with infinite ammo magnums. Kinda a joke really. There are collectibles which in return give points to use in some sort of shop which unlocks infinite ammo. Some character models etc. So it's not all that pointless. There a ton of misc really which aren't that hard. Overall the main trophy list is really easy. The DLC on the other hand make it more of a pain in the ass. They are actually harder and there is an online mode where it's basically pretty boring. Luckily I found a group to boost the wins and get it done first. The other DLC are about speed and efficiency really. Lost in Nightmares isnt too bad. Desperate escape on professional is pretty annoying but doable if you just do the checkpoint method. Trophy Difficulty: 4/10 Conclusion Overall it's not a bad game for what it is but it definitely doesn't feel like Resident Evil. It's a good action game overall with outdated controls. It's continuation of the series is kinda what saves it really but it's also the beginning of the end of the storyline to because I know Resident Evil 6 is much much more action and probably the weakest link in the whole series so. This is a prequel to failure. So much so the series changed it's whole formula to reinvent itself. I'm not sure what made them take this route. Maybe the success of 4 but they found a way to make it work with annoying but intimidating enemies. In this it's just overkill. It's definitely worth playing if you're a fan of the series just to see what it's like. Otherwise you're not missing much honestly. Easy platinum. Bit more annoying 100% but other than that it's a pretty doable fun game.
