Popular Post Zach
#175 (Milestone!) Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Time: 53hrs This is by far my favorite Need for Speed of all time. I was so hyped when I heard this game was getting a remaster. This is back when Need for Speed was actually still a little challenging. The last two Need for Speed, while fun, weren't that challenging if we're being honest. I'm giving this a 5 for difficulty because of the DLC. Without the DLC I'd say it's a 4. If you've never played this gem, I'd give it a try. All DLC is included!
Popular Post IntroPhenom
My Name is Mayo 2 My Name is Mayo - The Second! My 63rd platinum trophy comes courtesy of My Name is Mayo 2. A caveat regarding what follows: If you can't formulate an opinion without judging the content of the game, you might as well move along. (I'm posting an opinion, and have no desire to elicit another pother on this site. That's right. A pother.) However, if you take a minute to think of what goes into making a good, content-agnostic sequel, realize that as a sequel, My Name is Mayo 2 ticks all the boxes, and in doing so exceeds its predecessor in every way. Building on the established foundation rather than ignoring it, Mayo 2 never loses what made the original fun while simultaneously introducing a more humorous narrative, more fun facts, the inclusion of mini games, and hilarity from the start to the very end of the credits. Based on these factors, I'm not afraid to declare Mayo 2 one of the best video game sequels I've played. Some reasons are thus: Mayo 2 isn't hindered by amnesia, an all-too-common condition too many second installments suffer from. You've probably played sequels where narrative and character histories are ditched, or a title is little more than a thoughtless label splattered across a game with nothing to do with the previous entry (think Ni Nu Kuni 2). Or, perhaps the story and characters don't change much, but everything else does (think Zelda 2). Lots can go wrong, but Mayo 2 makes no such mistakes. It's a better chef's way of cooking up your regular order; with the initial list of ingredients intact, the dish is cooked in a different way with better results. Enhancements are incorporated to elevate the overall experience; your food now has a complementary side dish, a creative dessert - a great sequel is ordering something you've enjoyed before and being served that thing, but in a creative, exciting way - a way you didn't know you wanted. Going back to the credits, Green Lava Studios is one of the funnier developers out there, so the fact that they found a way to incorporate amusement there should surprise no one. What appears after the conclusion of the game is not a who's-who regarding the development, but rather a drunken blog of one man's current life woes. No spoilers, and not a funny subject on the surface, but it is presented in a self-deprecating, funny way, with misspelled words and #amirite and things like that. Rayman Legends is no longer atop my list of favorite credits. My two cents? Go play it. Worry about nothing. Take an hour, earn some trophies, laugh, and then return to the all-too-serious year we're having. Mayo 2 delivers a bit of levity we all deserve. Popular Post GT__Jedi
Plat #68 - Bugsnax Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 What a great game! Was excited for this game when I saw the trailer, but got sidetracked with Astro's Playroom. Started the game, had some mixed feelings, but as I got into it, it really was a lot of fun to play. Had some rant moments with trying to catch a few of the Bugsnax (such as the damn Scoopy!), but finally figured it out, with a bit of luck, how to get it. Hardest trophy was Feeding Frenzy. Even though I had transformed all of the Grumps, the trophy still would not pop. Finally got it to pop this morning. One thing I suggest - finish all of the side quests before the final mission to make the battle a bit easier. Have fun!

Even if the game was shorter than Spiderman, I really loved the story and how it turned out. Really good game. Popular Post AgentSmiz
Platinum 113 - Celeste Heard some really good things about this game from a couple of sources so when it went into the recent Indie sale on PSN, I picked it up. Got round to playing it and yeah- they were right. The story and music are awesome. However, they didn't warn me about the gameplay and how hard as nails it was. Luckily, there's an assist mode that lets you activate various levels of cheats so I could experience the story/music without throwing my controller out the window. Without it, I would have gotten maybe 1 trophy out of the game. That assist mode can be catered to various levels ranging from making it slightly easier to full on god mode. If you're after a 2D platformer that will kick your arse in difficulty and make you feel a variety of emotions whilst playing it, this is it. Worryingly, there's people out there who've platinumed it without the assist mode. They're both to be feared and respected equally.

AdmantCrow
Platinum #18 Bugsnax Master Bugsnax Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Going two for two on PS5 Platinums feels pretty good, actually! Bugsnax is by far the better of the two (the other being Astro's Playroom). What can I say? I adore this game. The Bugsnax are adorable, the tone of Snaktooth island is unsettling and just weird, the character writing is way deeper then I ever expected, and it had really solid same-sex relationship depictions! My only real problems were how, gameplay-wise, repetitive the side-quests got, though I loved their writing. I also just got kind of sick of having to go back and forth from area to area to only catch one or two Bugsnax. But I digress - I honestly think this might be one of the best launch titles for a Playstation, ever - and it's an easy Plat, to boot!

Popular Post GarciaFever
#201 Mugen Souls It's finally over. After 6 years, I finally got this fucking game done. I hated everything about it. The way that you traverse each continent and not having every peon point being unlocked upon arrival is such a huge waste of time. To add to this, the last 2 chapters of the game have you revisit every fucking world again just to unlock the third continent. As for the true ending requirements, the developers should have it unlocked automatically once you hit 30% average charm. Instead you have to waste around 30-45 minutes going through the fucking Mugen Field in order to get the chance to fight the doppelgangers so as to get the Tier 15. That's roughly 4 hours that I have to waste for each playthrough for the Tier 15 Shampurus. "But wait, what about the Overwhelming Apocalypse battles? Can't you just do those?" Yes I can do those, but I would need to waste even more time doing the bullshit peon fusion trick, and I am not gaining any Shampurus while I am doing so. "Also, you can just do multiple Mugen Field runs to get certain Shampuru." That's another problem of its own. Once you get to a certain floor, you have a chance of spawning the correct enemies, and then it takes even more luck to make sure you peon them instead of making them frenzied, and thus getting stronger. Not to mention the fact that if you use an item to exit the Mugen Field and re-enter, you ALSO have the chance of spawning an enemy battle ship, which automatically advances you to the next floor once said battle is finished. "Oh but it can't be that bad if you are killing a lot of enemies to get certain Shapmurus." Yeah the fucking problem is that, depending on which Shampurus you are trying to farm, the developers want to make us suffer as much as possible by having the drop quantity super low. I mean when you peon just one enemy, you might get anywhere from 15-150 Shampuru. 2 of the gold trophies in this game require you to have a certain amount of Shampuru (1,002,000 for reaching a peon ball size of 10 billion KM) and the other for getting 100% average charm, which is around 1,005,000 or higher). Unless you play this game at every hour of almost every day, you would be looking at a minimum of 400 hours of gameplay. The only saving grace is that the game contains dlc (some of it being free) which can help you cheese your way though the story as well as most of the Mugen Field, but that's about it. Everything else is just pure bullshit grinding. The characters are forgettable, with the exception of Alys. She is decent, and is the same voice actor as Noire from the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. I better keep moving on to other games before this thing gives me a fucking aneurysm. #202 BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Not much to say about this one. Only got the game solely because it has RWBY characters.
Popular Post ZachBoardyHD
Platinum 109: Gris What a fun little gem this way to play! The game is really short and easy to get the platinum, it took me around 6 hours to platinum, you get to play as a silent girl called Gris who one day when singing to a female statue, the statue collapses and this is when you get to play, the game is a platformer but an easy and relaxing one, the main focus is with the story. Also the collectables are really easy to come by, that's if you look everywhere during a level in which case you won't have any issues finding them. The art style is a beauty to look at with all its painted colours and hand drawn designs. Just a warning though, in level 4 (the underwater level) there is a scripted jumpscare which proper got me proper good (spoilers: after feeling from the eel, you have to swim and try and find your way out of the caves in the dark while you hear the eel surrounding you, so as I fear open water and the unknown, I just wanted to get straight out but to my suprise the eel pops out the bottom of the cave to try and get you again). With the ending there are a couple of interpretations of what it could mean as the story is told via the visuals, no actual dialog and as it deals with the 5 stages of grief. My interpretation of seeing the secret ending Spoilers (It's you that is dead and not the woman who is your mother and the darkness that surrounds you throughout the game is in fact your mother's grief taking over the loss of you and at the end when you help the statue rebuilds itself, I took that as that your mother has accepted that you're dead and now is ready to move on but that you will always be with her.) I know it may be a little far fetched how I came to that conclusion but with a game that only can tell a story via its visuals with no dialog, it's up to the audience to decide what they think what the ending means, especially the secret ending. Popular Post Undead Wolf
#336 - Far Cry 5 We Always Had Faith In You Obtain all the Trophies. After being thoroughly disappointed with Far Cry 4 for being a bad imitation of Far Cry 3, I essentially lost interest in the series and didn't pay much attention to this game because I figured it was just more of the same. That only changed recently when I heard somebody I trust talk positively about it, and I figured it was worth a shot since the game is pretty cheap when on sale these days. I'm really glad I went through with that because I ended up loving this game. I was hooked right from the opening sequence - it was incredibly well done. I found this game's story, setting, and main antagonist to be very compelling. Joseph Seed is right up there with Vaas as far as I'm concerned. His performance was excellent and I found myself captivated whenever he was speaking. The gameplay was nothing new, it just had a few of the more tedious elements from the previous games be less of a focus or removed entirely. The carrot on the end of the stick for me was being able to watch the next story scene and it was worth putting up with the somewhat bland gameplay (it was fine). Getting the platinum/100% was quite a pleasant experience. Nothing I'd really call frustrating, it was just a matter of going down the checklist. A lot of trophies to get but they popped at a pretty reasonable rate. Thanks to @Redgrave for playing the DLC with me and helping out with the Infamous difficulty trophy. But yeah, I guess Ubisoft are still capable of making good games after all. I'll probably wait on playing Far Cry 6 but I look forward to playing that one at some point. I hope it lives up to this one and Far Cry 3. Edited November 25, 2020 by Undead Wolf

Popular Post Deluziion90
#321 - Assassin's Creed Valhalla Viking Legend Win Every Trophy Fun: 7/10 Difficulty 3/10 Platinum time: 111 hours Hard to decide how to rate this game as it's another AC open world game. It's incredibly massive but that's also the part where Ubisoft went wrong. There's a total of 780 collectables. Well That took me a total of 80 hours from my 111 total playtime so you can tell how that felt :D. The story is a bit repetitive. Pledge to a region in England with your Viking eivor, make friends and take over a fort. It usually repeats itself for most of the story. There's also your typical Isu stuff which gets really REALLY weird later on in the story. Overall I like the game for what it was but nothing special. When it came to the bugs and all the complaints I think I was one of the lucky ones who only had some really minor stuff which could be solved by a simple restart. Nothing game breaking for me as i cleared the whole map first before I even started the story.
Popular Post Elvick_
Platinum #219 Sackboy: A Big Adventure [PS5] Big Adventurer Even Scarlet didn't get all the trophies, you're truly a Knitted Knight of legend. I have mixed feelings on the game. The one thing I'm unequivocally disappointed in is the OST. I get that the series has used licensed music before, but it was usually more quirky and obscure. Here it uses quite a few well known pop songs, one of which from Britney Spears ffs. And I love the song, but it is not a song I would attach to LittleBigPlanet at all (or "Sackboy" in general). A lot of it kind of got lost in the background too it was just too subdued at times. So much less personality than before. Media Molecule always had such great song choices in their games, Tearaway killed it in that department too. [should really get Dreams...] Gameplay is really fun at most times. It's not like LBP's floaty physics. I'm probably in the minority, but I never minded how the LBP games played. I think a lot of people just want everything to play like Mario, and I get it. It has great controls, but I don't think LBP ever had bad controls or physics [well... object physics at times; Boom Town hello]. But, in terms of platforming I loved it and felt it was very momentum based and if you had the proper momentum you could seemingly impossible jumps easily and quickly with zero issue. It was unique. This is more a traditional 3D platformer, but in the main levels you can't see your shadow under you it's lit to be pretty instead of practically. Some games even have both. What's odd is the Trials have the shadow always under you, and while you can't see shit in front of you much you at least get a good view of the stuff you have to deal with immediately in them. And you also have a 'light' shadow when you get the hover boots or whatever they are. The gameplay can be incredibly frustrating as a result of the camera and artificial challenge of judging depth properly. I've never been the biggest fan of "3D" platformers where the camera is entirely isometric and you have no control, you just see what they allow you to see. Just getting a second controller and having the second player stand around really causes issues. You think it was bad in LBP when a player strayed too far... but this game doesn't even really punish you for it unless it's an on rails level where you'd die for falling behind like in solo. Otherwise the player is lifted up and just hovers around, it doesn't even count as a death. Which makes the 10 ace trophy in co-op really pointless and stupid [especially making you do 10 different levels]. But when the controls work it controls pretty well, it's just at times things like bounce pads that require activation with jump don't register (which got me killed a few times in Trial 16), sometimes you'll roll directly at a hole to go in the tube and you'll just smash against the wall and at times this will kill you. In co-op at times you can't pick up the other player for seemingly no reason [assume it's if they're too close to a wall since that's how it was as I was carrying around the person for awhile]. The trophy for getting more collectabells in 20 levels while in co-op was really dumb and pointless. It would have been fine if the Zum Zum challenges counted, it even tracks your collectables and tells you who earns more. But nope. It also doesn't count the trials for this. Doesn't even count it if you get a bronze/silver/gold rating in the level you play so you have to purposefully be shit at it just so it counts them. It's really dumb and tedious for no reason. Story was overall cute, but I never could get used to Sackboy having a 'voice'. He doesn't say lines, but he screams on deaths, grunts, and all that. And it kind of takes away some of the cuteness for me. Just one LBP Vita level in the DC pack and I'm already missing how it was there. It just works better when he's silent for me, but this is a personal thing. DualSense is better than I initially thought, at least the... wtf is the term for the vibration stuff. I can't think of it atm, but that's timed to the music in the background which is interesting but I didn't initially notice this until I saw someone actually point it out. It's not used nearly as well as Astro. The adaptive triggers (remember that term~) were terrible in my opinion. Generally when you're jumping above a death pit to grab a spinning sponge platform to fling yourself to the next one you're going to be holding R2 at all times so you can be sure to grab it as soon as possible. But the adapative triggers only do something when you're really close in proximity to the grab-able objects. So you're already holding it down and then it adds the pressure to it and it feels really shitty and tripped me up enough that I just turned it off entirely. I like how it feels when using it more normally, but in more dangerous situations it just gets in the way. I also had a hell of a time grabbing things often because of the camera angle and because you have to be all up on something's ass just to grab it. Since you no longer have stretch arms that give you leeway to grab thing safely. If the camera was positioned better or in your control, the change might work, but I think they should have kept that in. Some of the new tools are neat, the boomerang is interesting although initially a little one note but they add a new function later which is really cool and has some neat uses in level dssign. The game is pretty. I wish you could change costumes at any time, anywhere. But you can only do so at the start of a level or at Zum Zums (shop). The overworld is kind of annoying as hell to navigate because you can't roll, you can't jump, you just slowly walk everywhere. The quick select doesn't include each individual level so it's kind of misleading when you initially see that prompt in the corner. You can only change worlds, enter the online PS store, Zum Zums or enter the challenges. Trial 16 was really annoying if anyone saw my status updates on it they'd know. I just didn't really think it was that fun to do because of just how long it is to toss Trial 1-15 all into one thing where you can't fuck up more than once (so long as it's damage and not a fall; and the damage knock back doesn't throw you into the pit). Oh and there's knock back damage which I fucking hate with a burning passion and don't understand why they did that way. I don't know if any of this is coherent, I'm really tired after the annoying and pointless MP grind. I think most of what I said is negative, but it's hard to describe the game and what works about it. It does have solid controls, just a few issues with the game itself. When you get used to the controls you can do some impressive things, I'd love to see some speed runners pick up at least the trials in the game. It'd be interesting to see what pros can do with the roll, yoshi jump and attack. I never bothered to learn to roll off edges and jump so you can get further. The jump off, yoshi jump and then roll worked for pretty much all the same jumps anyway. Just probably slower. I had fun with it overall, just a few disappointing things about it that keep me from saying it's great. It's just okay. I will say that the one co-op level I had to play (to unlock high five) with my fiance was neat to do. I just can't get him to play much with me. I tried it alone and it was way too hard, as well as a few others I tried. I only managed to finish the one on the first world alone. Tried about 3 of them.

Popular Post FluffyAssassin64
#131 - Hitman GO: Definitive Edition "Agent 47" Collect all trophies for Hitman GO: Definitive Edition Sure, this may be basically a mobile game... but that doesn't mean it's not a great puzzle experience! The Hitman series is renowned for its interesting stealth gameplay and mechanics, and - for the most part - is integrated well here. There's enough variety in enemy types and in ways to interact with the map to keep it feeling fresh throughout. By no means is this my new favourite game or anything, but I had fun with my 5-6hrs with it. I wouldn't say there's anything obviously 'bad' about the game; just that it's not earth-shattering or particularly 'dope', you know? Some later levels can be a bit tricky, and took a few attempts. The 'challenges' for each level (no kills, few moves, etc.) are what add this challenge, and they're required for the platinum. That said, if you're ever stuck, you can simply Google/Youtube the solution without voiding the 'perfect assassin' trophy (i.e. no need to use the in-game hints). All things considered, this is a very quick and easy platinum... but expect to be stumped for a while if you don't use a guide haha. Game rating: 7/10 Plat difficulty: 1/10 (using guide), 3/10 (no guide)

The latest in the Kingdom Hearts games; here we see pieces be put together for the future of the series. Since the game just came out, I won't say anything more regarding the story than that. As for the gameplay, you have a wide selection of songs, representing the series so far. With a vast selection of difficulties, alongside neat collection bonuses of character designs and other cool art, there's lots of fun to see what each song has to offer. The harder songs especially feel very rewarding when you finally obtain a full chain. I know I've said it earlier on this, but there really are a heap of songs, like lots! There's bound to be a favourite for anyone who's played through this series so far. Very fun. Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 4/10

Popular Post ZoutjeNL
#54 Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Monster Hunter World is one of my favourite games this generation so it was a logical choice to buy Iceborne. The game itself is great and it has a lot of content and quality of life changes to boot. Many new monsters to fight a ton of new weapons and an introduction of the Clutch claw. People either seem to hate it or love it, personally I like it. Also can we talk a minute about the community? It is rare to see such a nice and welcoming community as MHW. I played with a ton of different people and even with foreign languages with the stickers you could still communicate. Iceborne is an amazing game but as a trophy hunter the game is terrible. This will likely be the longest grind I will ever do. This game took me over 350 hours to complete and it could take a while longer if you are unlucky. The two platinum blocker trophies are obtaining all the mini and large gold crowns and there is a heavy emphasis on RNG. I for one I hate RNG with trophies and especially within this game it is the worst. A huge shoutout to @GamingWithAbyss1 for the amazing measuring videos, they helped tremendously. But even with measuring and exiting you still have to get the right investigations and it still takes hours on hours to get the crowns. If you are not a completionist and don't care about the platinum definitely play this game leisurely. The platinum will likely make you lose all your hair.
Popular Post Deadly_Ha_Ha
# 35 - Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory Difficulty - 4/10 Enjoyment - 8/10 I eagerly await every Kingdom Hearts game. The last content we had in the series was the KHIII dlc which is still the most difficult Kingdom Hearts content ever released. This was a lot less challenging, and it was a rhythm game which I love. It took me 1 week 8 hours which sucks because I wanted to get it done in less than a week but sometimes our plans fall through a bit! I was first playing on my pro on a smart TV with a lot of input lag. Like, a lot of input lag, and I honestly just got used to it. That was like 85% of the time spent playing, then for the last bit I was playing on my gaming TV or whatever and the difference was unbelievable. I basically had to get used to playing the game all over again lol. Anyway it was a great game, though if you're a fan of the series and know the music you might agree with me that there were some missed opportunities. I'm sure there will be dlc in the future. Maybe a harder difficulty mode like they did introducing Critical into KHIII post-release, and some extra songs.
