Popular Post Omar
Hello y'all, I have been away from focused trophy hunting for a bit due to Final Fantasy XIV entrancing my soul LMAO now I'm all caught up (minus the just released 5.4 patch) so I'm back to my trophies! Over this time I have aced two games so gaming tidings I bring! #162 - The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Cold Steel Conqueror - Mastered Trails of Cold Steel and earned every trophy. Achieved: November 23rd, 2020 PSNP's RS: Rare Difficulty: 3 Enjoyment: 8 I am now on board for this series and I cannot be stopped: I'm already familiar with the events in the Sky trilogy and will follow up with Zero/Azure to be fully ready to enjoy the rest of Cold Steel. I really enjoyed this first game in the Cold Steel series and even though it required careful attention to missables and other stuff I enjoyed my time with it. Cool music, cool characters and cool gameplay so it was time well spent! That being said, the dev team should go to jail for ending the game on such a cliffhanger LMAO #163 - Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory Melody of Memory Complete Master - Obtain all trophies. Achieved: December 9th, 2020 PSNP's RS: Uncommon Difficulty: 3 Enjoyment: 645727592572 I can safely say I INHALED this game and it wouldn't be an overstatement. I could not put it down! The Kingdom Hearts series has one of the most iconic OSTs in videogame history so it should be no surprise just how fun this game is. Loved every second and the learning curve was really satisfying. I was one day struggling to make it past the hardest Standard songs, then crushing it on Proud mode the next. The visuals are fun and not overly distracting (glares at them Persona Dancing games) and the rhythm was really cool to follow, especially on harder difficulties since they tend to ride the main melody of tracks more often so patterns are more recognizable. The story was pretty light but the future is promising! Us KH fans have EATEN this year with this and ReMind so the team can now take their time to prepare for whatever's next Now if you excuse me, I'll go continue to die my way through Nioh, which I started 2 weeks ago but it feels like I've been playing for 8 years because it is STRESSFUL ? wish me luck and enjoy The Game Awards!
Popular Post Rick_Sanchez
Platinum 254 Fun: 8/10 Difficulty: 5.5/10 Sega released a compellation of their classic genesis games on PS4 and the selection is pretty good. Sonic games of course made it on there, a lot of action games as well like vectorman 1 and 2, a handful of RPG like Phantasy star 2-4, streets of rage 1-3 are here as well as golden axe 1-3. If you loved your genesis back in the day I highly recommend picking this up even if you don't go for the trophies. A handful of games have trophies that for the most part aren't difficult. For the games that have cheats you can freely use them to make getting the trophy easier, then there's a rewind feature that lets you rewind an event to let you do a part again without dying or repeatedly do something to collect something over and over again to count for a trophy for collecting an amount of something. The hardest trophy is the challenge trophy where you have to complete a challenge in select games, most are moderately difficult, some are beyond frustrating like the streets of rage challenges. Regardless if you get this for trophies or just relive nostalgia, it's a great collection!
Popular Post TwilightSpira
PLATINUM 238 - KINGDOM HEARTS MELODY OF MEMORIES As I'm not a fan of rhythm games, I was actually surprised by how much I loved this game. Listening to one of my favourite tunes ever was a delight. Powered by Pulse 3D headset on my PS5 made even better. As a fan of this new PS5 feature, here is the platinum popping in full glory Oh and I can't go without saying that an all excellent will happen on this one, I had fun but those 3 good notes won't break my perfect excellent chain.

Popular Post Arcesius
#76 - The End is Nigh The Pitch Take on the role of a lonely cancerous blob and put your platforming skills to the test with this fantastic 2D platformer devoid of color and filled with sadness and depressing topics by the sadistic genious mastermind that is Mr. Edmund McMillen. 100% Enjoyment 100% Challenge The Best Imagine yourself in a post-apocalyptic world, everything you have left is a single video game, and the cartridge breaks.. What would you do? Go out and make a new friend, of course! That's what The End is Nigh (henceforth TEiN) is about, and it is very, very good. Only "making" a new friend is taken literally here... Your initial goal is to find a Heart, Head and Body, and play Dr. Frankenstein. Look, my new friend hanging there! Usually, the plot is not a very crucial aspect in these types of games. For TEiN, Edmund himself stated in an interview that he created this game during the darkest phase of his life, and it shows. The topics are very dark in this game... Collectibles are tumors (your goal is to become more and more cancerous), some sort of expanding goo is called "Mother", you have cartridges named after the stages of grief, and everything is set in a very dark, colorless tone. Why am I mentioning this in the "The Best" section? Because in this specific case, I think that the topics TEiN deals with actually help make the game what it is. TEiN has a very unique, very dark but recognizable style, and the underlying topics really help set the tone. The difficulty of the game really goes well with the atmosphere, and I believe that the game wouldn't have been equally good if you would keep the gameplay intact but instead play as a colorful marshmellow collecting sprinkles in a rainbow-themed environment. Alright, I've mentioned gameplay now, so let's talk about it and the level design in this game. And this is going to be the first time I make the obvious comparison to Super Meat Boy (SMB). Let's start with level design. This. Is. Amazing. Edmund outdid himself when designing this game. TEiN starts out easy enough, but there is still plenty of room for error even in the tutorial world. I actually had my girlfriend run through the first world to see how someone with - how do I put this... - moderate gaming skills () would perform, and she managed to clear 19/20 screens without help (it took a good amount of time, she died a lot, and she was close to giving up multiple times... and also asked me repeatedly why the hell I enjoy playing such games...). But she learned most mechanics without me having to tell her anything. That's good, intuitive level design right there. Going further, this game borrows plenty of ideas from SMB and Super Mario. You have Chain Chomp-like enemies (chained dogs), turrets that continuously shoot you on sight, laser beams, moving platforms, conveyor belts... and of course, more spikes than you could ever need and the difficulty seems to increase further and further, but in such a way that it is never really noticeable.. That is until you assemble your friend and open up a new set of levels... There you have limited lives (as many as tumors you collected), culminating in a non-save-scummable set of screens that are far harder than anything in the main game. It's, simply put, genious... You learn how to play without pressure, with a steadily increasing difficulty curve. Once you are ready, you lose the safety net of being able to make as many mistakes as you want. And after coming that far, conquering that last set of screens feels amazing! Not only that, but each world has very well hidden secrets to find. The hardest challenges in each world are often platforming gauntlets leading to those collectibles. So players that want to just casually play through the game can do so, while completionists need to find and complete far harder tasks. Now, while TEiN and SMB share a lot of ideas, the gameplay mechanics and emphasis are very, very different. SMB is all about speed, about completing levels quickly (I mean, you unlock the Dark version of each level by completing the Light version under a certain time), and Meat Boy controls accordingly. You have wall-jumps, you can sprint, and the levels are designed to be speedrun. Not so with TEiN. Here, the pace is not quite as high. Ash (the blob) cannot sprint, it cannot wall-jump. But what it can do is hang from edges. It sounds trivial, but it enables a completely different gameplay experience. Instead of rushing, you might be hanging from a ledge of a collapsing building, and need to jump to the next part at the right time (patience, my friend, patience!). There are water levels, and in water you move even slower, but your enemies might not (stupid fish), so you cannot outpace them, you need to learn how to manipulate their AI. It's these kind of design decisions that make this game feel great and unique to play. And I loved it. Overall, putting all of the above together, TEiN is a brilliant game, and I dare even say that it is the best platformer I've ever played The Worst If I would not care about trophies, I don't think I would find anything to talk about in this section. But since I do, I have to mention the Super Mega Cart (SMC). You see, in TEiN, there are retro-style platforming challenges in the form of Cartridges. You collect those in the main game, and once collected, you can play it on the console in the starting area. Most cartridges are actually pretty fun, and come with certain challenges attached to them that I will touch upon in the next section. But one specific cartridge, the aforementioned SMC, can go suck an egg. It is simply a compilation of 9 cartridges with 10 screens each, and additional 10 screens specific to the SMC. That's 100 screens that need to be completed in succession and with limited lives. Now, initially, even beating the damn thing is not the easiest task. But for one of the trophies you need to complete all challenges for all cartridges. In this specific case, there are two that are particularly painful. Completing all 100 screens dying at most 8 times (not that bad after a bit of practice... I think I died 4 or 5 times in my successful attempt), and completing all 100 screens with 40 lives WHILE COLLECTING ALL 1000 RINGS. What a giant pain in the ass that was!! I lost track of how long this took me, but it must have been at least 8-10 hours of practice, run attempts, cursing and venting to Mori about how fucking boring this challenge is. Listen, there are far harder challenges in the Steam version (more on this later), but I have to mention this here since it is literally the only challenge I didin't have fun with. If you want to watch my run (at least partially, since it is like 45 minutes long), here is a video in the spoiler-tag: Spoiler The Challenge I gotta be very honest here... I underestimated this game. Before starting it, I thought on several occasions "I will quickly do TEiN first", for example shortly before doing Trials Fusion. That "quickly" turned into roughly 50 hours of skill-intensive platforming challenges. This game is definitely not a walk in a post-apocalyptic park. Now, I am not even talking about trophies, I'm talking about the challenge of a casual first playthrough. I loved the difficulty, it made the game feel exciting to master, but Edmund was right when he himself said that this is his hardest game. This is one typical screen in the harder cartridges, just as an example (with the route marked in red): You cannot stay in the gas clouds for too long or you die... keep moving! Now, the hardest challenges are usually found when going for certain trophies, and it's no different here. First things first though. As mentioned above, on Steam, getting 100% is way, WAY harder than getting the SMB platinum. I'm not exaggerating, the achievement list is absolutely insane. On consoles though, the hardest challenges are probably on par with Zombie / Girl Boy from SMB, but Impossible Boy is harder than anything TEiN throws at you. The hardest challenge definitely is the SMC mentioned above. The second hardest challenge is a no-death run. In SMB your no-death runs are 20 screens long and you can determine the order yourself (making them way easier than with a fixed order). Here, the hardest no-death run is 32 screens long which need to be completed in a given order. It's not the most difficult challenge ever, but definitely requires some practice. Here is my run, in case you are intersted: Spoiler And while the SMC kinda annoyed me in the end, it didn't diminish the fun that I had with TEiN. This is a fantastic platformer, and more people should play it. Fantastic gameplay, top-notch level design and a difficulty curve that makes playing this game incredibly satisfying. Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #562: Difficulty: M4/Y0 Playtime: 33 mayos, eight naisses Enjoyment: Y0/M4 Yes indeed, it's the sequel to that time-time-honored classic--nay, rite of passage--that makes some who take trophy hunting way too seriously lose their shit for some reason. Why they released this so far into the PS4's life cycle instead of wowing us with some ooey gooey mayotastic haptic feedback on the PS5 is anyone's guess. Anyways... it's got twice the mayo, twice the free-range-eggs-that-aren't-really-it's-just-a-sales-ploy, twice the existential nihilism... so you had better bring along twice the statins; let's go, mayo! ...Though, of course, there isn't much to say about a transcendental experience such as this, or at least, not much that I can satisfactorily convey with deservant eloquence and cogency, my comparatively rote and pedestrian loquaciousness being what it is. You're either going to get it, or you won't. The almighty Mayo will judge the character of your karmic being and reward you with the game experience you deserve. Concordantly, engaging in any further unduly verbose verbiage would only prove the very bleeding edge of redundancy and oxymoroni...ty. Mayo days be merry and bright, and may all your Christmayos be white.

Popular Post Bumperklever
#135 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (PS3) CS:GO Platinum Trophy Date Achieved: 11 December 2020Rarity: Common (24-25%)Enjoyment: -/10 I recently saw that CS:GO was still obtainable even though the servers were shut down. So I decided to give it a shot. Been soaked in by CS:GO and the competive scene when I was playing a lot on steam. Played it for a total of 2500 hours and I still play it from time to time. So even though this was "a buy to plat" game for me. (I mean this is already dead ey). I do have a fair share of history with the PC version and therefore would like to add it to my list. but honestly this game has something what the PC version doesn't have and that is nostalgia. To the point were I like to call this CS:GO Classic, as the game is in it's core recognizable, but so much is changed over the years. Though CS:GO (even though stated by valve that it was made with console in mind) it plays like trash on consoles. The trophies itself are doable against the bots, just need to have a little bit of luck. It is far from hard.

It is by far the best out of thee trilogy, it has the best storytelling and playability, besides, characters like cumstock, Elizabeth, are really likable, I think she is one of my favorite non-playable characters so far. The ending wasn't that easy to understand, but still good, with the return to rapture. I don't understand why there hasn't been any other new entry in this franchise, considering that there wasn't any let down to justify it.
