Popular Post Angel
Summer in Mara Guardian Platinum #154 Summer in Mara was such an enjoyable and relaxing experience. It is an exploration, farming and crafting game that takes you across the sea of Mara while experiencing a heartfelt story with quirky yet charming residents of Mara! I am happy to finally have the chance to play this colorful game since it was announced and I'm glad I decided to make this my last platinum journey for 2020. It was such a relaxing getaway experience especially around these times. I highly recommend giving Summer in Mara a play as I loved every moment and brought a smile to me! Platinum wise, it was not challenging at all as this game is meant to enjoy it at your own pace (so no missables), exploring, tending your home island and getting to know the cast of supporting characters by doing minor quests. With that all said, I do want to say I hope everyone is doing well. I know this is a rough time for all of us and is affecting us in someway. Please be strong, be kind to one another, and always know you are never truly alone even though I struggle myself with all this but I keep strong hearted with a smile. I hope you are enjoying the Holidays, Merry Christmas, and here's to a great New Year! (with more gaming and platinum experiences too, of course) ? As always, thank you so much for your time. Best of luck on your next platinum, my best wishes and take great care!

It's not the best detective game ever, but still a pretty enjoyable game. This game will take 12-15hrs if you use a guide. I finished it in 12hrs. I'm sure if you skip all the dialogue, you could do it in less than 10hrs very easily. However, I found the game pretty interesting, so I rarely skipped any dialogue. I highly suggest you using a guide to avoid multiple playthroughs.

Omelette Paradise
#443 - Persian Nights 2: Moonlight Veil Fairly straightforward stuff from Artifex Mundi. The hidden object puzzles and minigames felt very simple in this title compared with their others. Story wasn't too bad. Not my favourite Artifex Mundi game but not the worst one either. Guest
Untitled Goose Game Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Indie games like this are such a rare presence, and it's even better than the memes. Pros: -Beautiful art-style -Wonderful background piano music -Silly and insanely fun gameplay that is genuinely funny, and even funnier with friends. -The very premise of the game is gorgeously original and so creative. -Trophies are straightforward and enjoyable, even most of the speed-running ones Cons: -The single thing I didn't like about the game was the speed-running section in the Back Gardens. This is solely due to the difficulty of this one depending on AI not cooperating. It was nothing impossible, just mildly frustrating. TL;DR: Even more fun than the memes suggest. Popular Post I_BREAK_U_IN_2
#181 - Fortnite Hero of the Storm This is one of those games where the requirements for the trophies are relatively simple but you are required to do the same thing over and over again for hours on end. I can breathe a sigh of relief now that this massive tedious grind is over. Now I just need to wait for the "All Together Now" daily quest to pop up again so I can also get the platinum for the PS5 version. With the amount of time that is required to complete this game, one platinum is not enough!

Popular Post voodoo_eyes
#517 - The Shapeshifting Detective One of the best FMV games out there. The acting is actually pretty good for the most part. It also has some interesting mechanics, but the story is a bit all over the place. It's also smewhat unfortunate, that there are only a set number of actual possibilities for who the killer is. Duffcar
#140 Kona Hall of Fame! What can I say, the story was actually rather compelling. Playing through without drinking or smoking, yeah whatever. Without using firearms, yeah okay. Without using vehicles, you've lost me a little there but I'm sure we'll push through.. Holy slug-fest my playthrough with a guide was shockingly dull and continued to feel like a fringe throughout. Final verdict. Good game. Bad trophy list overall. Popular Post Rias Gremory
Platinum #305 Cyberpunk 2077 Xmas Special Very Rare: 5.10% Difficulty: 4/10. Enjoyment: 8/10. Challenge: 9/10. Music: 10/10. Grind Difficulty: 10/10. Lifepath: Nomad/Street Kid. Widespread Destruction and Violence: 9/10. Genre: Open World, RPG, Shooting, Action, Science Fiction, Sandbox, Romance, Death, Murder and Tragedy. Platinum Time: 2 weeks and 1 day. Let's begin. Wow oh wow, This has been a fucking rollercoaster ride when I first began playing Cyberpunk 2077 and honestly this has been the most disaster game...ever. Yes I have encounter alot of bugs, glitches, crashes and others etc. Lifepath I chose? First Nomad: Nomad where it all began for me and I gonna say this is the best experience and emotional ending I ever come across and yeah I agree the Star Ending was beautiful and really put me smile on my face and I was super impressed by that ending. Lifepath I chose again? Second Street Kid: Now I don't understand Street Kid very well but from what I know it's pretty much the same thing except for the different introductions I came across. It is still very good and brought alot of depths to the game and the choices that has consequences that'll affect the game so to speak. Money Exploit: Now this right here was the real deal for me, this was extremely helpful on pretty much most of the things you could ever get, weapon upgrades, getting max street cred, money, xp etc. I had to get around $5m to get Craft level 20, however that wasn't enough, it only got me around level 18 which was so close for me to max out. So I had to use a backup plan and use that art painting glitch and make alot of money and now I got what I wanted. I am happy. The Endings: As I said before about the Sun Ending. That wasn't it, there was another one that gave me nostalgic deja vu and that was the space ending. That space ending was the only one I would stick my head in it and fly away from everything else including Night City. It reminds me of Vincent Brooks Space Tour Ending from Catherine: Full Body. Definitely a 10/10 for this nostalgic ending. Cons: As I mentioned before, the crashes, glitches, bugs that really damage the game was unacceptable. I've encountered so many of thoses that pissed me off completely. They should of kept this game only for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S and not for PS4 and Xbox One. Johnny Silverhand: Yes I gonna love that crazy son of a bitch. One of the best and the talented man from John Wick Movies. Definitely my favorite kind of crazy guy to go around with. I personally don't recommended and buy this game just yet until it's completely resolved and ultimately fix and wait til it goes much cheaper. Next Platinum: ??? Popular Post Conor
#88- FINAL FANTASY VIII (PS1/ PS4) Lionheart Obtain all trophies Enjoyment: 810 Difficulty: 3/10 Time: 3 Weeks, 4 Days, 6 Hours (40 hours in-game) Rarity: 9.2% Very Rare (PSN) / 36.54% Uncommon (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: Omega Destroyed- Beat the Omega Weapon "I'll be here. I'll be waiting for you. If you come here, you'll find me. I promise..." As I may have said a few times in my time on this site, Final Fantasy VII is my favourite game of all time, and has been ever since I played it. I was very young getting into RPGs and to this day I still enjoy them a lot. But no game brought me closer to putting an end to this roleplaying love affair than the next entry in the series, Final Fantasy VIII. Why? Because I was a stupid kid and the systems present in this epic were way too complex for my tiny little peanut kid brain. It has been over a decade since I last attempted to play, but now I believe that I am finally mature enough to understand and appreciate this game. It still doesn't come close to the previous title, but it still stands as a fine game in its own right. Remastered on PS4, the game has improved character models and exploits to make things go a bit easier and faster. The main character is Squall Leonheart, a sullen loner who likes leather jackets with furry collars, lions, jewellert and swords with gun handles (still one of the coolest frigging weapons ever designed for a game). Training to be an elite mercenary, a "SeeD", out of Balamb Garden, Squall embarks on a journey with five other friends to unravel the secrets of his past and to put an end to the threat of the evil Sorceress. A compelling tale and a much different one to its predecessor for sure, since you only really see the main antagonist towards the end of the game, although she is always present in some way. Though not as memorable as the previous entry, the cast is still very likable and how their entire backstories intertwine is a first for the series as well. The only thing I still don't buy is Squall x Rinoa, seems very forced and unnatural especially if you choose not to have Rinoa in your party very often- Squall, Zell and Quistis/ Irvine were my picks always. But hey, it was a leap forward in the depiction of romance in games so I'll give it a pass and I seem to be in a minority over it as well. The battle system saw a major overhaul. Enemies instead scale to Squall's level but they get rather large stat boosts so one has to make use of the junction system in order to stay ahead of the curve. I hardly ever cast magic in this game, instead stocking it up to junction to my different stats in order to get massive boosts. I tried to actually avoid battles for the most part in order to keep enemy strength low, though that 1000 kills trophy necessitated some fighting to reduce the monotonous grind later on. I also rarely used the GFs (this entry's iteration of the Summons) in battle too, since I found the boosts with Limit Breaks did the job. Yes, I used the enhancements to get me through the game mostly especially the 3x speed because constantly stacking magic and fighting cactuars would be extremely slow-paced at regular speed, but they also couldn't be fully relied on since some attacks can still kill in one hit- had a game over a few times in spite of my best efforts and the cheats! I actually did complete the game years ago in spite of not really understanding or properly using the system, but it frustrated me no end then, a better grasp of things made it so much more enjoyable. Oh, and finishing off Ultimecia with a Lionheart Limit from Squall was just a thing of beauty. All in all, Final Fantasy VIII is an excellent game that may be somewhat unfairly maligned by fans of previous or future entries. Sure, the junction system may take some getting used to be its actually a very deep and interesting way to manage your characters' magic and stats. Far from a perfect game but certainly worth playing by any and all RPG fans.

Popular Post EcoShifter
Answered the Siren's Call Obtain all trophies in "Shantae and the Seven Sirens". Platinum Image: Spoiler The latest and fifth installment in the Shantae series. For all purposes, the only game in the series I will not compare this to is the first game, Shantae. Because I didn't play it. RR = Risky's Revenge (second title) PC = Pirate's Curse (third title) HGH = ½ (/Half) Genie Hero (fourth title) Seven Sirens is similar to the Pirate Curse's installment in that it changes up the series formula but just not as much. Technically transformations are indeed still tied to dancing, but they're environmental/screen-based, while the controllable ones are now instantaneous due to the game's setting exclusive items called fusion stones. Graphics I highly enjoy both 2D or 3D art and perspective in side-scroller based games (Sonic the Hedgehog, Unravel, INSIDE, OutLand, etc), but while Shantae did start out as a 2D game with pixelated art and remained so until the third installment PC, SS's predecessor Half Gene Hero did a phenomenal job with its 3D art. Rather than continue under that new direction, SS actually takes a step back and returns to 2D (though this time with vector graphics), even though it's also the only title in the series to support 4K resolution. Additionally, background detail can often be very weak in general and compared to past titles, like less/little scenery/environment depth and props and less animated objects, at times making it the worse looking Shantae game in terms of background detail, especially the major boss rooms. Soundtrack Have been handled by new people this time around instead of the legendary Jake Kaufman, who composed for every other Shantae game. The difference in quality is extremely apparent, even though it's alluded to that the composing for this game was more team oriented than all past titles. "Bad" is not a term I'd associate with its overall quality, but it's heavily reliant on chiptune usage, by default making it less varied and audibly the most repetitive soundtrack in the series. There's never anything like "Risky's Song" and "The Sky Bridge" from HGH, "Scorching Dunes" and "Trip through Sequin land" from PC, or "Days travel" from RR . And even SS's best genuinely doesn't hit as high as its predecessors' best. I'd say SS's soundtrack ranges across mediocre, average, good and sometimes very good and is the weakest in the series. Gameplay & Difficulty The core gameplay remains the same as it's been throughout the series: Shantae uses her hair and magic to defeat enemies and interact with numerous things in the world, while also using her animal transformations to clear obstacles and explore (the returning) labyrinths, all with a mixture of platforming and puzzle solving. One notable change includes instant controllable animal transformations (highly requested by fans) that doesn't require Shantae's dancing anymore, very similar to the pirate weapons from PC. The environment based transformations are something new, allowing Shantae to manipulate the environment, like using Refresh Dance to cure contaminated water or Spark Dance activate or deactivate machines. Another new mechanic is the Monster Card system, which are cards of enemies with one of their abilities. Pre-release I was skeptical on this feature, but while some abilities decreases the game's difficulty it is still a fun mechanic, especially for allowing variations of a customized Shantae. HGH's (end-game) Magical Tiara item ridiculousness aside, SS is definitely the easiest Shantae game. Starting with the most simplest, Shantae starts off with three hearts of health, which hasn't been a thing since RR. Next, there is more health-based food items than PC and HGH individually and almost combined. One of those items includes auto-potions, introduced in PC but didn't return even in HGH. In addition, the foods' drop rate is the strongest in the series, even to the point where casuals and newcomers have frequently complained about or acknowledged it. Moreover, multiple food items now replenish magic along with the health. Shantae herself also eventually learns a magic ability very similar to HGH's Revive Dance called Refresh Dance, but there's some notable differences: the Revive Dance in HGH is completely optional, has to be paid for, and consumes a great chunk of magic, while the Refresh Dance in SS is mandatory for story progression and consumes much less magic. In extension, a few of SS's stronger enemies can be defeated by a single use of the dance, and there's a couple of monster cards that can make the attack even more effective such as less magic consumption specifically for that attack and also more hearts restored. There's another very similar parallel with a move from both games, Obliterate in HGH and Quake Dance in SS. It's exactly the same exact situation, mandatory item, ability cards that make it more effective, etc. Gem acquisition is also easier—much—easier in this installment. Normally it's at least slightly more abundant than HGH's. Then with alterations, such as once again equipping a card that increases number of dropped gems and even worse a move called the Seer Dance that reveals hidden-to-the-naked-eye statue heads with gems inside littered throughout the entire world, it's in a whole dimension of its own. Obviously this means you can buy anything from hair upgrades to potions to magic not only faster but in more supply—combine that realization with the game's food item drop rate—because, no, prices does not accommodate for the generous gem collecting. Dash Newt's exploits. Dash Newt is a new controllable animal transformation of Shantae, reminiscent of Shantae's iconic Monkey form, and the very first Shantae gets. The difference between the two gameplay wise, however, is Newt can perform dashes on the spot, and that's part of the problem. Its instantaneous dash with invincibility allows Shantae to do two big things that contributes to the easier difficulty: allows Shantae to pass through all enemies (including those infamous Pincher enemies people seem to hate and even bosses and attacks) and move throughout levels at abnormal rate, (the latter) like the backdash in RR. (There's controversy and sort of proof that the devs have been catering to speedrunners in at least some way since the previous installment, and this mechanic is likely one supportive instance.) The moment Shantae lands after each dash it can be used again. Obviously it has its convenient moments at times, but it breaks the balance between combat and platforming overall by literally zooming through any enemy upon encounter. There's also some ability cards that makes it better. Naturally this all makes the speedrun related rewards (trophies/wallpaper) easier. Relics, such as shampoo, armor and more, cannot be toggled on or off. HGH implemented that feature, but it's absent in SS. This means when you buy certain relics, you keep their beneficial upgrade and remain as powerful as it makes you, indefinitely. No Hardcore Mode. This difficulty mode made its debut, post-launch, in HGH, but it's non-existent in SS. Story There's a few good plot twists, as usual, but whatever quality there may be in the story is hindered greatly by the series's most disappointing use of the cast and some of the weakest dialogue. The interactions with Squid Baron and Risky Boots are about on par with past titles, which is good (and expected with the consistency in attention that are given to them time and time again), while the rest range between ok and below ok. But the worse part about the story is probably how both Shantae's friends (Rottytops, Bolo, and Sky) and the brand new supportive characters (who will be named later) have either little involvement or no meaningful role throughout. Shantae is invited to an island, Paradise Island, in appreciation of Half Genie Heroes and to participate in the Half Genie Festival, and Sky intends and is adamant on using the opportunity to enjoy the vacation there. Spoiler When the time comes for the festival, though, the other half genies disappear during it and are kidnapped. Shantae insist on finding them out of frustration that she wasn't kidnapped alongside the others and because she feels they won't return. (Following this and to the end of the game is where the problem starts.) Sky and Shantae's uncle Mimic disagree and feel Shantae should let the authorities handle it, and while Bolo doesn't say anything, Shantae and the story itself paints him on their side. So they don't come to a mutual agreement, embarking Shantae to journey alone and find the half genies herself. Despite the fact that Bolo and Sky show up a couple of times in the middle of the story, they're almost completely there for the sake of being there. This is evident when Sky's next screen moment involves her being tricked and captured alongside Shantae after having believed she convinced one of the neighboring town's Baron to make Shantae half genie armor to prevent harm or lessen further damage. Despite her good deed and even saying beforehand how she would have come to help Shantae if she knew Risky and Sirens were involved, she goes back to her exact vacationing spot after she (and Shantae) later escape. Bolo is worse, with his next screen moment being a request (taking place during the overworld) for a certain food item, which once Shantae gives it to him he unknowingly gives Shantae a key item as a reward that he mistook for food. The next time they're are relevant is almost towards the end, when they share an objective together to, from the looks of it, watch over a panel and its readings and nothing more. Every and any other instance from them is merely being there to serve as background cheerleaders. Rottytops also has little screentime, as she spends more than half the game being captured, but at the same time she plays a major role in the story, so I guess she's fine (even though she wasn't trying to or aware of it). Throughout the story, Shantae of course comes across the Sirens who've imprisoned the half genies and serve as the bosses (alongside Risky Boots), yet no interesting events happen upon encounters with them. There's no interactions between any of them except the last two out of seven, with the sixth being unable to even English and communicating with sounds. Despite the short and well animated cutscenes providing the Sirens' introduction (which in reality is actually pointless due to following events), Shantae fights them as she had any other non-speaking boss in the series and proceeds to the next event. Then there's the other half genies themselves. All they do is give Shantae her new game transformations via a lore item called fusion coin, as well as their main powers via another lore item called fusion stone, with a brief explanation on both, after their rescue so solely she can delve further and find and save the others, while they chill and wait on her to get the job done. The only other notable thing they do is at the final boss, after Shantae weakened it, when they together take back the (legitimately small amount of) life energy that was stolen from them after their kidnapping and that results in the final boss reverting back to her old form. It's all around underwhelming utilization and wasted potential for what is suppose to be the game's most important and prominent characters, especially with how good their designs are. There is also an oddly disappointing reuse of multiple voiced lines through the story based interactions from Shantae, such as "Risky Boots. So" when Shantae confronts Risky, "I feel like dancing" when she gets a new magic power, and a few more. This post is still incomplete, being about 80% done. But it is almost finished. Promise. Popular Post arcanehornet_
Platinum #303: Tomb Raider Definitive Edition A great reboot to the long-running Tomb Raider series. I actually thought this game was very fun. Enjoyed the platforming a lot, and the story kept me somewhat in suspense. For being 7 years old, it has aged quite well. This game is not that challenging to platinum, just annoying. For one, there’s quite a few missables. The worst one being “Chatterbox” where you have to complete all conversations with the Endurance crew. I was a big dumb dumb and completely forgot about it, so that meant another playthrough. And then there’s the online grind. Hoo boy. This is likely the worst online mode I’ve seen yet, and it’s clear that it was just shoehorned in because The Last Of Us was releasing that same year. This is a big grind that requires boosting. Most of your time will be spent playing the “Rescue” game mode, where you will bring medkits to a set location over and over again. Now that’s what I call fun! This is also the first game in my attempt to platinum all 3 games back to back (2013, Rise and Shadow), so expect a review for Rise next.
