Popular Post snakebit10
#329 What is Freddy Spaghetti? You guessed it, you play as a spaghetti noodle named Freddy. Although easy it is quite humorous through out the game. Athough easy it did hade some parts that did require more attempts than I would like to admit. Even though it is a Ratalaika game. you actually have to complete the whole game and the bonus levels for the platinum. So you think just clicking x in My Name is Mayo for an hour is bad, well this it was the L1 and R1 button. I was so glad to be done having to push them the whole time. With that, This is the first time I got 2 plats in one day on Christmas day. Yes, both games were easy but they were enjoyable in their own way.

Popular Post Deadly_Ha_Ha
# 37 - Dark Souls III Difficulty - 5/10 Enjoyment - 7/10 I'd been meaning to do this game on this account since I had finished Dark Souls on PS4 and 100%'d DS2, but my plat in DS3 was on my original account. This game and all the games in the Souls series as far as I'm concerned are not difficult; I had done Patapon before this and found it more challenging. I did my first of 3 games with friends, then the second two on my own in just a few hours. The total time for me was like 60 hours with some wasted time noodling around. As anyone who has gotten this plat will tell you, the bulk of the time spent is for the covenant grinds, specifically one which might take 15+ hours by itself to collect 30 items... not fun. It's a great game and holds up really well. There's still a pretty active community of people summoning and invading so even without friends to play with it isn't a lonesome experience for better or for worse.

Popular Post StraightVege
Nailed It! #247 - 4th Fastest Achiever (1 day, 4 hours) Considering that the genre is my exact cup of tea, I'm let down by the fact that I didn't enjoy Ruiner's take on isometric, twin-stick action to quite the degree I expected. It resembles a cross between Dead Nation and Hotline Miami, but I thought those titles both did this sort of combat better. Several other aspects are nonetheless praiseworthy, though. I've seen a number of games that borrow cyberpunk aesthetics, but don't endeavor to meaningfully explore punk themes—perhaps because the creators were too concerned with mainstream appeal. Ruiner certainly cannot be accused of such superficiality, so bravo to the developers for doing the sub-genre justice. It's also an interesting meta-commentary on the lack of player agency, and the illusion of choice in games. From the first moment you take control, your nameless, faceless character is loudly ordered to "kill boss" by a complete stranger, and is hurried down a linear corridor to that end, sans any specific motivation. Referred to simply as "Puppy" by his master, this homicidal cyborg is always on a leash, mindlessly following orders, without an alternative. During dialogue, you're even provided two meaningless options to select from (such as "nod" or "shrug"), which both lead to the same outcome. Ruiner's attempt at the old "would you kindly" ain't half bad, even if it isn't exactly subtle about what it's doing. Several moments actually surprised me with how affected I was, like when Daisy drops the brothel hostess veneer, letting her real feelings slip out for a moment. Unfortunate that there aren't really any side missions to further develop these characters. One thematic element irritated me, however: images or text frequently flashing on screen, partially or entirely covering it. Not only does this make it hard to see where you're going, but it can trigger epileptic symptoms in vulnerable people (I am one). With respect to gameplay, the added Speedrun mode was a better experience for me than the main story, just because it does very little of this. It's cool and all, but give people the option to turn it off, at least. I was impressed with how adaptable the skill system allows you to be. The player can pause the action and reallocate their skill points at any time, and in any combination, so there's always another approach to try if a fight isn't going well. More games should do this, instead of locking you into one build. The clean UI is nice, too. It's just disappointing that the combat so easily breaks down into an unreadable mess. Late-game battles on the higher difficulties were a blur of me dashing, the enemies dashing, projectiles everywhere, instant-death kamikaze explosions, and obnoxious slow motion effects. There were many points where it felt totally mind-numbing, as I rapidly mashed the dash button and held shoot, until I managed to survive the encounter. Not much fun. The balance is far better on the Normal setting, where certain fights can feel pretty exhilarating and skillful, so that's what I'd recommend playing on if you're not a completionist. There's also a combo mechanic, which congratulates you for defeating enemies in rapid succession, but the game rarely offers opportunities to build a high combo, and it appears to have little affect on anything. Seems like it only exists to mimic Hotline in a shallow way. There were some significant performance issues, as well, with the game stuttering frequently as I moved through the levels, which doesn't make for smooth navigation when you're quickly dashing to the next objective. Not one of the most exciting twin-stick games I've ever played, but taking it as a whole, it was worth experiencing at least once. Slick presentation, fairly intriguing story and themes, with some serviceable action at times. Flawed, but a good effort. Popular Post PooPooBlast
#153 and 100% Rage 2 From the makers of the Just Cause series, the developers created Rage 2 which pits you in the shoes of a Ranger called Walker that's about as generic as they come. The story was easily forgettable and I honestly did not give a shite about what happened to anybody in the game . Now that that's out of the way, the shooting was lots of fun! The guns, the powers you get and the mobility was pretty dope. And it ran at 60 fps on the pro which was a bonus! You get a pistol, rifle, shotgun that kicks ass, rocket launcher, a plasma gun (that's like a sniper rifle) and a few others that can be modded/upgraded. In terms of powers you get the ability to push back people with a shockwave, do an AOE slam attack, launch a mini vortex that suspends enemies in the air, and a barrier shield for protection among a few others. The DLC added a few other weapons and powers which were fun too. In terms of open world activities unfortunately, it gets repetitive pretty quick with uninspired things to do, very reminiscent of far cry. Claim this outpost, find loot, destroy these fuel tanks, destroy this convoy, destroy this tower, power up this station, blah blah. The open world was extremely large but devoid of any life and honestly they could've cut half and nothing would've been lost.. Thankfully, the weapons and powers you get to toy around with the enemies make up for it. As for the DLC, it was such a waste of money...but for completion sake and because I'm an idiot I bought them . To add insult to injury Bethesda decided to be scummy. How? Well the two expansions in total cost 2000 coins but guess what? The only coin options you can purchase are 500, 1100, 2500, and 4500... Cheapest option would be 2500 coins which translates to an extra 500 coins or $7 CAD essentially forcing you to spend extra.. Fuck you thrice Bethesda. Overall, I liked the game but it has its issues. If you're an fps fan then sure go for it. Shooting is pretty solid. But if shooters isn't something you occasionally play or you're looking for a great narrative then avoid at all costs!
Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #567: Difficulty: 3.5/10 Playtime: 20-25 hours Enjoyment: 7.5/10 Better known as Canis Canem Edit in my part of the world, though what they edited out is anyone's guess ? But what's in a name, right? That which we call a slightly toned down boarding school GTA, by any other name, would still be about as much fun as you'd expect. This one passed me by way back when, but I'm a sucker for a game with seasonal settings (my playing it during Christmas was no coincidence) and it's kind of been my year for a good Rockstar game anyways. More to follow, on that score... So yeah, Bully is a lot more fun than the real thing. Its chief conceit sees the GTA sandbox formula deftly melded with inspired outside-the-box mechanics like school classes and curfews. Armed with an exotic arsenal of prank weapons that'd make Bluto Blutarsky cream his toga, it's up to you to help our inexplicably likeable anti-hero James Cuthbert Hopkins navigate the choppy waters of cliques, corrupt teachers, and townie dropouts... and restore some semblance of stability to the volatile melting pot of higher education that is Bullworth Academy and the surrounding town. Plot is a bit of a letdown, though. The mission intro and cutscene banter is on point, but the focus on the main plot isn't great, to the point of being underwritten and underwhelming. And like pretty much any Rockstar game, the mission pretexts can become somewhat flimsy and repetitive, as can the seemingly prerequisite relentless misanthropy. Less is more, as they say. I'm not seeing a dev team learning much from their flaws here... and RDR is just some scant four years away! And boy, I gotta tell ya... I hate it when a game railroads you into a canon romance, especially when you've got a top tier classy lass like Beatrice in your game! And I'm not even the type to care much for shipping and the like... No joke, it tends to actually play better than the vaunted trilogy of games from which it was spawned. The controls are slightly less stiff, and they seem to have got most of the more janky mechanics out of the way at this point, resulting in much fewer bouts of design-induced frustration. Though the smaller game world allows for a lot less emergent gameplay than you'd expect, tightening in other areas such as missions and side quests makes this a mostly negligible issue. It's not as if the formula wasn't ready for a shakeup anyways. Though still a fun and solid game experience, Bully doesn't quite get top marks in terms of capturing the potential of its novel concept, and thus I am still waiting for a game that truly captures my memories of boarding school. It rests a smidgeonette too slovenly on the laurels of the increasingly stagnant GTA formula to earn too many plaudits for ambition or originality. And dude... where's my Beatrice?

Popular Post sh4d0wzcs
#155 Marvel's Spider-man Remastered PS5 I knew what i was getting myself into again and loved every second of it. This game is absolutely gorgeous with raytracing, and everything ran so much smoother than it did on the PS4 Pro. On the Pro I found that if it travelled a it too fast there was slight fps drops but not on the PS5 version. The PS5 version is a visual upgrade on an already almost perfect game. At first when i saw the trailers for the new look, I didn't really like it thinking Peter looked way too young, but after time the new look really grew on me. The new Spiderman looks a it like Tom Holland which imo isn't a bad thing as I really do like Tom as the MCU Spiderman. As others both suggested and complained about, I decided I wanted to autopop the dlc as doing it once was enough for me, and like others fuckthose goddamn screw all challenges.. for me they weren't hard at all but annoying asf to do multiple times just forever thing to line up perfectly.. Naturally after completing this game I immediately went and started my 156th.. #156 Marvel's Spider-Ma : Miles Morales I had a decent idea of what to expect as last year I watched the Spiderverse movie, which was great (quirky kid, learning the webs) and I knew this game was going to be like how Lost Legacy was to the Uncharted series. (Which was still great) Holy shit this game is absolutely stunning running on the PS5, sure the game wasn't as long as the first and honestly I can't justify the price tag but I do not regret buying at all. The story was just as good as the first and it was good to see a novice Spiderman learning the webs ? The first mission was epic and the bridge mission was so damn good, the final mission was so emotional. Using the app to do crimes and sidemissions was also very well laid out and so much easier to navigate and do crimes that I actually needed to do. As for the ending credits scene that Marvel is notoriously known for doing.. The hype is real and I seriously hope the sequel will come soon.

Popular Post Ala-Arska
SpongBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Neptune's Spatula Get all the other trophies for this game A teeny, tiny black loading screen...BRING ON THE ROBOTS!!! Hey, it's that thing that lives in a pineapple under the sea! Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated is apparently a remaster of sorts. And, apparently, a cult favourite. I never played the original one, but in my opinion 3D platformers from that era are more annoying than entertaining. This one is pretty good, though. Characters are funny, and you get to play with Patrick and Sandy too, besides SpongeBob. Difficulty is on the lower side, except for a few sharp spikes here and there (Dream levels especially!) Then there's those "screw up and lose enough progress to get mad" moments, thanks to uneven saving. And, being a Noughties game (like Sly Coopers and I-Hate-Them-So-Much Jak & Daxters), camera does most of the killings Goddamn precise jumps with goddamn camera spinning and shooting goddamn walls and goddamn leaves. Sucks to jump when you have little to no idea where you're landing, and screwing up and watching that loooooong loading screen. Oh, and a certain ball rolling section and one or two slide races can go and die as well. Up yours, Playstation 2 But, my rage issues aside, Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated does offer cool boss battles and an overall sweet experience. Definitely worth considering, if you have patience and accept some dated gameplay mechanics. A solid 7,5/10
Popular Post EcoShifter
At the time of writing Rico was Here Earn all Just Cause 4 Trophies This installment (on its latest patch but without any DLC) did not disappoint me anywhere to the level others who've played this claimed. Graphic related issues aside, which applies in only certain areas (like say pop-in and water texture but not the beauty of the world and the detail gone into the environments), I can't see how Just Cause 3 is supposedly better than this (that's including its season pass content. . . vs base JC4, which is interesting). The framerate is better and actually stable this time around, which is one of the biggest deciding factors. For some strange reason, people exempt this game from the framerate>graphics matter. Other things this installment does better than its predecessor includes, much better driving (with things like better handling and drifting, though motorcycles still need work), much better shooting system—thanks to aiming down the sight finally being a mechanic now (it makes the game feel more inline with a modern shooter) and a secondary fire mechanic for weapons now—not only more tethers but a much better grappling hook system too (with better mods, like power yanking for the retract tether, and multiple customizable loudouts to make ultimate tether builds to one's personal liking), better weapons (there's literally a wind gun, two of them actually, an electrical weapon that causes thunderstorms, a cow gun that turns people into cows, etc) and vehicles (snowmobile, blimp, special ones with ramps and cranes, etc), no fisticuffs but a still improved melee attack which also deflects grenades (very useful), aesthetically customizable wingsuit and parachute, a more visually varied openworld than JC3's, improved A.I. and new realistic hit-reaction animations (like NPCs kneeling or stumbling over when getting shot in the leg), a better heat system even despite the removal of set levels, and more. The new weather system and innovation is also incredible and at least on par with their Mad Max game (thankfully). All the things to expect from dangerous weather storms like thunderstorms, blizzards, sandstorms, and tornados, in a video game are here: thunderstorms strike the highest living/non-living thing, blizzards and sandstorms decrease visibility, and tornados engulf everything within its proximity, all while having their own impact on wind pressure as well. Certain weather combinations can even be made thanks to the electric gun (which name's eludes me), like creating basically that chaotic and violent electrical sandstorm in Mad Max by using the electric gun's insanely fun secondary fire mechanic to create a temporary thunderstorm during a sandstorm. With a tone shift for this game, it also benefits Rico in having made him a more grounded character, from design to characterization. His new voice actor is even better than his previous. (Hopefully this one stays.) And the manipulated weather storms being his biggest enemy and being too much for even Rico to handle initially, is good and one supportive way for the more grounded take in this installment. So, of course not everything is an improvement; no decently sized series just only improves things without there being some setbacks. Among the most obvious, which everyone complains about (i.e., graphics), the U.I. is weirdly designed and while not a gigantic deal it sucks that there's no longer stats listed for the weapons and vehicles under their menu. There may also be a bit too many timed missions during the main story. Overall, however, this is a more cohesive JC game than JC3 (and the other installments), getting ever so closing to full dream, which hopefully is not compromised too much in JC5 because of the weaker sale performance of JC4. And with all the games pros and cons, i'm almost certain I have more hours in JC3 (given I have those DLC expansions and that the time required for platinum is suppose to be longer), yet I was able to be more creative than ever in JC4 with less hours (and had more fun). The gameplay has never been any better in the series, even while JC4 ditches the focus on taking over every single kind of settlement and base through (mindless) property destruction. Popular Post ZoutjeNL
#56 Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY (also 100%) Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 5/10 I started this game because the server shutdown... it always peaked my interest as I like the Lord of the Rings and I adore the Batman games. For me the game got better the more you played. It started out pretty bare bones with not many combat options, but once you unlock more runes and abilities the game quickly gets a lot more fun. The Story while fun was not the highlight of the game for me. Playing this casually it is a pretty easy game to platinum. I heard the horror stories from people having issues with the 100% but somehow for me it wasn't difficult. With using a good strategy I got the Huntress trophy with 8 minutes to spare and the Lord of the Rings trophy with over 15 minutes to spare. Honestly a great game that I happy that I picked up. Shadow of War might be played in the future but with my current games that I want to play it won't be for a while.

Popular Post Viper
#210 Assassin's Creed" Valhalla Viking Legend Only took me 201 Hours to do this lol. Another great AC game, I just really enjoy these RPG style games...not that I didn't like the old ones, there's just something addictive about these newer ones that I can play them for 200 hours straight and not feel like I'm just completely over it (usually 100 hours is about my limit for a game). With that said though...I think this might be the weakest of the new games. Origins is still my favorite...bugs and glitches asides, the combat in this game is the big draw back for me....I don't understand why every developer feels they need to go with the Soulsbourne lite style of gameplay where it's all about Parrying and dodging and watching some arbitrary stamina bar. Because of this, Eivor...who is a great character in his/her own right...feels almost weak in comparison to Bayek or Kassandra/Alexios because he's hindered by annoying gameplay mechanics. FUCK CAIRNS! Seriously...one of the worst collectibles I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with and easily the worst one in AC game history. A collectible centered on physics in a game not built around that kind of logic. Absolutely infuriating in the late game. Story wise...I'm one of like 5 people on this planet that actually prefers to see how the modern day stuff plays out rather than the historical, and there just wasn't enough of it here (barring possible DLC furthering things). People don't realize that the modern day story is the ACTUAL narrative of Assassin's Creed...it's the whole point of why we're playing in the past anyways, to uncover a secret needed for the modern day. And it all gets played out in micro chunks that we've been following since the very first Assassin's Creed way back in 2007 (even the faceless Abstergo employee stuff from AC4-Syndicate was building to something) and for once I'd like to see something MAJOR happen in the modern day story that absolutely floors you...every game seems like it's leading to that and it all just ends on a cliff hanger for the next game. Overall I enjoyed my time with this game...it just wasn't my favorite of the bunch.
