Popular Post Katt
Resident Evil 2 Raccoon City Native Obtain all trophies. Amazing remake! It only took me 6 complete runs + 2 cleanup runs. I really enjoyed my first runs in this game playing without guides. It felt like the first time playing it in my childhood. I ended up memorizing the whole game and I never planned doing that lol. With Mr. X chasing you the whole game and the RE Engine doing the light tricks to make you feel uneasy made this game a masterpiece. I REALLY RECOMMEND purchasing the classic soundtrack pack. Played once with the original music and then everything was with the classic soundtrack turned on, the experience was… godlike.

Popular Post Kishnabe
Platinum #486: Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing (PS3) This game made me delete all my friends since the trophy Dreamarena is buggy. Would not pop even though I did the requirements. After deleting all my friends and adding 1 for the trophy, managed to get it. Added most back. Missions were a bit of a challenge, Mission 47 was a pain. Shadow beating Sonic, CPU kept coming in at the final turn. Took an hour or so to finally get AAA ranking. Got this since I wanted to complete Sonic Racing Set. Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 6/10 Time: 16 Hours

Took me awhile to get back to this one.. Had to find a walkthrough (thanks, TrueAchievements), so I could pick up where I left off. Which was about halfway through it, so better than starting over. Largely forgettable, though. Won't be stacking the old version, that's for sure. Popular Post GravityQueeen
# 95: Dungeon Punks Long time I don't use this thread but this game kinda needed it! At first I thought: this is garbage! What am I doing with my life? Why I'm not playing Uncharted instead?! A platinum later, Dungeon Punks is still shitty, but, somehow, it was totally worth it! I ended up caring about the Were-witch above all other heroes, actually the cast is nice and I feel sorry for them, they deserved more, and somehow I also dig the art-style. Such a grindy, clunky, miserable game, yet I ended up enjoying it, taken by a feeling of pure compassion. I used my friend's @audiopile trophy guide. Unlike the game, it is easy to recommend. Popular Post OakfieldPark
Fallout 76. Good game, kind of a shame it took so long to get there though. I was apprehensive to play an online Fallout, Fallout to me was always single player and this felt like an obvious attempt to just create a cash cow player-base hooked on RNG they can pump money out of for years and it totally is however it is very enjoyable. I jumped on after the Wastelanders update which added NPC's and companions (the bread and butter of what I think any Fallout should be) and it does feel like it lives up to a great story in the Fallout universe. I was always a player that spent way too much time settlement building, keeping to myself and just wanting to dive into the story and this for sure scratches all of those itches, the community is unexpectedly one of the nicest I've ever seen too, almost every player I encountered was cool, which coming from GTA and RDR2 felt kind of unbelievable, in fact if I'm being honest I almost got to level 100 without encountering a single hostile player, whether it be waving hello or leaving a small bag of supplies for low-level players, that same community carries over into the extensive market on places like Reddit. As for gripes, it's still a little buggy but that's unfortunately nothing new for a Bethesda game. Also at the risk of sounding like a huge douche there are some timeline and lore issues which I have trouble ignoring, they didn't have to cram every single faction and enemy from the other games into this considering it only takes place 25 years after the bombs, there are some creatures exclusive to 200 year old, post-war Far Harbor (Maine) that for no reason at all appear in Appalachia and I get that there are Brotherhood of Steel fans everywhere but you don't need to include them absolutely everywhere considering they were supposed to be a very small unit at that time and on the other side of the country. Anyway, great game to get hooked on and like any Fallout game it gives you many options to play how you want. The Wastelanders update really made it a full game that's worth the money it costs now.

Popular Post Quink666
#359 Silent Hill 3 HD I Guess it's Time to Roll the Credits 15,40% Difficulty: / Fun: / Trophies: / Time to Plat: 10 Hours What a sentimental journey this was. Silent Hill has to be one of my favourite franchises. Top three probably. I love all 4 main games alot but the other two AAA Silent Hill games are not to shabby either (Homecoming & Downpour). Was years since i played a SH game last. But i played through each four main entries when i was younger. It's a very easy platinum and you can get the plat by only playing on easy if you feel like it but playing on normal or hard is recommended. It's makes the game slightly more intense. Trophies are fairly basic, unlock all endings, get all special weapons and kill all bosses within a certain time limit. Not special. Not like Silent Hill 2 which require you to 10 Star the game which is pretty difficult. SH 3 is one of the better Silent Hills games aswell, but all 4 are very good. The game can occasionally crash loosing you some progress unless you save very often. The 333 kills can also be farmed so you can get the plat in only 3 playthroughs. Unfortunately the HD collection isn't as good as the original, but it's the only version that has trophies. If you never played a Silent Hill game but are a fan of horror you really should play them, though i recommend playing atleast Silent Hill 1 before playing Silent Hill 3. I really hope Konami either makes another SH game or sells the IP to a competent studio, but we all know that wont happen. Kuck Fonami!

Popular Post dieselmanchild
#189 - Ghost of Tsushima Wow... WOW! What else can possibly be said about this game? I thought Ghost of Tsushima was phenomenal, and one of the best open world games I’ve ever played. In terms of open world games, it’s pretty standard. Sucker Punch definitely didn’t set out to reinvent the wheel here, but it does feel like they knew exactly the kind of game they wanted to make, and they set out to bring that vision to life masterfully. The world they created is simply beautiful. Whether the depiction of Ancient Japan and the war-torn island of Tsushima is accurate or not I don’t know, but it managed to feel exactly the way I always imagined it in my head. The immersion in this ancient samurai culture was just incredible. Every inch of the island is simply oozing with life, death, and vibrant colour, and the landscapes and wilderness across Tsushima are some of the most gorgeous scenes I’ve ever seen on the PS4. This is by far the best looking game I’ve played to date, and I found it impossible to resist stopping and entering photo mode every few minutes as I trekked across the island, because the amount of breathtaking scenes you come across really are that numerous and frequent. Probably the most unique and innovative feature in this game is the “guiding wind” mechanic. I absolutely loved this! Not only does it mean the screen is completely uncluttered and free of objective markings and other HUD displays, but the way it guides you on your path and helps you uncover the many secrets of the island was really brilliant. Between the wind and the various animals like foxes and birds that guide you in your journey, exploration in this game always felt organic, and these mechanics really encourage the player to veer off the beaten path and explore the vast and gorgeous wilderness in order to uncover all the useful secrets the island has to offer (shrines, hot springs, bamboo strikes etc.). Because of this, I thought the collectibles were brilliantly done. I found the majority of them naturally just by travelling across the island and taking time to explore, and never had to consult a guide once. It all felt extremely rewarding, and never got boring. The gameplay was fantastic too. While the combat doesn’t really offer any sort of real challenge to be honest, Sucker Punch succeeded in making the player truly feel like an unstoppable Samurai hero. The lack of a typical progression system was very welcome to me, and instead you gradually gain new tools and learn new stances, techniques, and abilities that allow you to deal with tougher enemies, and dispatch larger groups of them easier over time. Normally, towards the end I find myself getting a little bored with the combat in games like this, as the player becomes increasingly OP and cutting through mobs of enemies becomes more of an annoying chore than anything else. But in Ghost of Tsushima, I never, ever seemed to tire of hacking down a group of 20 enemies, taking care never to get hit once as I switched in & out of different stances, juggling enemies back and forth and making the skirmishes look and feel as cinematic as possible. It just looks and feels so epic! I don’t think I rode past a single Mongol patrol through the entire game. I always had to dismount and challenge them to a stand-off! I must also say that I was very pleasantly surprised with the story of this game. Both the main story, and the various supporting character’s side quests are a lot deeper than I ever imagined they would be, and in my opinion the ending was one of the most harrowing and morally ambiguous I’ve seen in a good while. I literally had to pause my game for about 20 minutes while I sat there weighing both sides and agonizing over making the right decision. To me, that ending was everything TLoU2’s should have been. Ghost of Tsushima absolutely gets my vote for GOTY. Sucker Punch succeeded in making an incredible game.

Popular Post Conor
#89- DEATH STRANDING [PS4] Greatest of Great Deliverers Obtained all Death Stranding Trophies Enjoyment: 5/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Time Taken: 1 Year, 1 Month, 3 Weeks (97 Hours in-game) Rarity: 2.7% Ultra Rare (PSN) / 16.71% Rare (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: Best Beloved- Reach the maximum connection level with all facilities "If you're not scared of death, how can you value life?" I got this plat weeks ago but I struggled to think of what to possibly write. In the end, I realised that there really wasn't anything profound that I could add to the conversation about a game that released over a year ago so I'll just write what I really feel, which is this: Death Stranding is the game I love the most that I absolutely could not recommend to anybody. I truly mean that. This is not a game that can appeal to anyone based on any particular taste. Hideo Kojima said he wanted to create a whole new genre with this game and in many ways I think he succeeded as well as failed catastrophically. For one thing, a huge portion of the game is just walking around making deliveries. That is it. Of course, you have to avoid the BTs- ghost-like entities- as well as Mules/ Terrorists who stand as mild inconveniences most of the time. Seriously, the game is so slow in the early stages that nothing had really happened 15 hours in so I quit. Tried coming back a few times and pushed on but still couldn't muster the willpower to deal with my own life as well as this game. Then, over a year after getting it, I decided to use my Christmas holidays and just get it out of the way. And I really can't explain how or why, but something clicked. I started enjoying it more and had impetus to push onward, to get through the story and attempt what lay beyond. Now, that doesn't mean that it suddenly became a great game to me, but at least now I didn't feel that I had wasted my money. Even when bumping up the difficulty, I didn't die or get knocked out once. The challenge of the game was simply having the patience to get from one place to another and often back again. I didn't care much for the characters or the overall story and yet at the same time the last five hours of the story hit me hard. So much emotional weight that oddly made things pay off, even if I couldn't possibly even begin to explain the plot. Graphically, the game is stunning. Some varied environments make each area memorable. Navigating the mountains was particularly enjoyable and frustrating at once, dodging BTs, trying not to fall and getting lost in blizzards. What certainly became compelling was connecting everywhere to the Chiral network and strategically placing my ziplines so that I could access anywhere from anywhere particularly in the massive Central Region. I also got the entire highway network built so deliveries that required trucks were an absolute doddle, if only the vehicles were not so damn slow and clunky to control. Just zipping along areas that initially took me hours to traverse now in seconds was exhilarating although it bothered me that the thing I was enjoying most was skipping large parts of the map. The actors' performances are among the best I've seen in a game, along with some incredible motion capture. Although the plot is weird and some of the dialogue is downright cringey (classic Kojima), they really sell it with all of their ability, especially Norman Reedus. An interesting cast overall, including appearances by directors Guillermo del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn (voiced by other people though), Geoff Keighly (and then wasn't this nominated for GOTY in 2019? Oooh) and Conan O'Brien. Weird and random stuff but certainly gave it some flavour. The story took me about 50 hours in total, but then the post-game grind took as long again- rebuilding roads, maximising your zipline networks, building up all facilities to Level 5 connection, then making the Premium Deliveries on Hard difficulty just takes up so much time and there is very little reward. As a final farewell to the game, having not killed anybody up until the platinum popped, I grabbed a bunch of lethal assault rifles and slaughtered every Mule and Terrorist in the game, creating more fields of BTs but I'm never going back anyway! There was stuff I loved and stuff I absolutely hated, so I think 5/10 is a fair score for me personally. I struggle to see how it can possibly be a masterpiece but that's just how I feel. I do think the interconnectivity- seeing other player's structures and getting their assistance on rebuilding roads- was very interesting and perhaps we will se this kind of online implementation in future titles. But otherwise, as I said, I just could never bring myself to recommend this game to anybody.

Guest
Ratchet & Clank 2: Going Commando Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 4/10 The sequel to the iconic original is mostly good, but with enough tedious trophy things to became cumbersome. Pros: -These types of art-styles never get old -Combat is fun as always and more fluid than the original, with the new weapons being mostly better and more useful (But the RYNO continues to be the best weapon by far). -The bolt multiplier in challenge mode makes the grind slightly less tedious, but using an exploit like getting the nuke upgrade for the ship and replaying one challenge repeatedly is still faster. -Most trophies are attached to skill points, and a majority of them are simple and quick enough to be fun, however... Cons: -There are so many unbelievably tedious and grindy parts to this game that feel like padding, such as upgrading all weapons all the way(Which isn't even all of the weapons and you don't have to do it all of the way, just one stage) and the awful skill points where you have to run/quick glide around two completely open, and mostly barren, fields to find either 100 or 101 of a certain object. It's not fun, it's stressful because they're not marked on the map, and the second area glitched on me and the last two enemies that drop the wouldn't pop out of the ground until they decided it was their time. -Just like the original, a bunch of planets are bland and seem like filler. Unlike the original where the filler planets only have 1 mission and a few collectibles, now filler planets are multiple missions and more collectibles. I assume certain planets are filler simply because they're so bland and uninspired to go through. There are absolutely certain planets that are (still) gorgeous and very fun to trounce through, but not nearly enough. -The final boss is also very boring. It's a damage-sponge just like Drek from the first game, and the Dr from the 3rd, and nothing more. It's a bloated up version of a regular enemy, which is the epidemy of blah, and only has maybe 2 attacks. If you can dodge his (slow) roll and the nonstop barrage of tinier enemies (which again is lazy and bullshit boss design 101) it's over, but that assumes you don't run out of ammo do to his stupidly big health bar. TL;DR: This game is brilliant fun casually, but going for the plat ruined my love for it.
Popular Post Viper
#212 LEGO The Hobbit The Road Goes Ever On Mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. It's such a weird feeling how I enjoy LEGO games...but they bore me to tears at the same time, because they're all...the...saammmmeee! I haven't REALLY enjoyed a LEGO game in quite awhile (this is like my 14th game). Honestly none of them have ever captured the same magic as LEGO Marvel Superheroes 1 has, and that was the first one I played (and why I played it twice). However it doesn't help that I'm not a LOTR fan at all...so there was no interest in this at all to begin with (it was the same with playing LEGO LOTR, I just didn't care). But that just made it even more of a slog. Plus it was riff with nagging glitches such as needing to escort NPC's and they get stuck in scenery or just plain stop moving. The game crashed on me at 9.2 Billion studs (there's a trophy for getting to 10 Billion) and when I loaded it back up I was back at 6 Billion. Plus some of the open world activities were really poorly designed...like this one in a cave around Rivendell where you have to swing with the Flail on multiple birds to reach a Mithril Brick...you over shoot most of them, and then aren't aligned with the brick once you get there. I just wanted this to be over long before it was. I purchased this back in like 2016 before I was I feeling so down about this franchise and just figured I'd play everything, it is nice to always have some LEGO games for when you need something easy to play...they're pretty much guaranteed Plats if you put a little work in. But I can't stress enough how badly this franchise needs a facelift. I realize they're games aimed at kids...but TT needs to figure something else out. I mean I get the whole "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"...but they really are all the same games with a different franchises face on it. I've pretty much planned to get LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga at some point...but I'm think I might be done with purchasing LEGO games after that until TT does something truly new with them.
