Popular Post ladynadiad
#200 King of the Monstrums Ys IX: Monstrum Nox I don't think I could say enough praise for this game. Love the series and this was a great new entry to it. Good story, good gameplay, nearly everything hit the right buttons for an amazing experience. So glad I worked to make it a milestone as important as my 200th plat too.

Popular Post madbuk
#408 - We Were Here Usually I'm not much of a co-op fan, and tend to stick to single player games, but the concept of this game seemed quite unique and I enjoy puzzles so I figured it was at least worth a shot considering it was free. It's about what I expected it to be - nothing amazing, but a unique and interesting concept unlike anything I've ever really played before, and it was interesting and fun to figure out the puzzles on a first playthrough. Unfortunately the puzzles dont really change, so further playthroughs are nowhere near as interesting. The game also has a few bugs - for example, we had to skip the opening cutscene because the first time we tried to watch it, it just booted us out the game. So I have no idea what the story was supposed to be unfortunately, but it doesn't seem particularly narrative driven anyway. On top of that during gameplay there were constant pop-ups saying I was losing connection to my partner. These pop-ups were so brief they were barely readable, but so frequent that if you pressed circle at the wrong time you could accidentally quit the game. That only happened once to us, and then I learned to be very careful with circle, but it's still annoying to have your screen be obscured briefly so frequently. I had fun with this, and I'd like to thank Elliot for taking me up on my offer to play this. Idk if I'll bother with the sequels, but if they also become free in the future then sure, I'd be interested.
Popular Post Bluefalcon2210
#50- The Last of Us Part II Here it is the big one number 50 a goal I never thought I'd achieve when I started playing my PS3 way back in 2013 which I mainly bought to play The Last of Us so I couldn't think of a more perfect game to achieve platinum 50 with than The Last of Us Part II. The game itself is a fantastic achievement both gameplay wise and story wise but I think the story loses a tiny bit of it's emotional impact in the second playthrough (It did on me anyway) but that's fine it's rare you have the same strong emotions when either rewatching or playing something for a second time, it doesn't take anything away from it. I still love the franchise and I am hopeful we get Part 3 to finish the story off but in the meantime I have the HBO show to look forward to knowing I have "Every Last One of Them" trophies for the Platinum sorry I couldn't resist.

Not going to lie to you all, I brought this game back in 2020 when I went on a bit of a spending spree and didn't have any intention of touching it yet, it's only when I was watching a video on youtube of easy platinums that I noticed that this one could be done in a matter of hours so decided just to get it out of the way so it was done and dusted. Now to finish off Dragon Ball Kakarot.

Popular Post Rias Gremory
Platinum #113 DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition Very Rare: 7.39% Difficulty: 5/10. Enjoyment: 10/10. Challenge: 10/10. DMC Music: 10/10. Widespread Violence: 10/10. Grind Difficulty: 8/10. Genre: Adventure, Action, Hack and Slash, Beat em up, Blood and Gore. Platinum Time: 3 days and 6 hours. This is when I earned Platinum #113 last year and making up loss time. Man I gonna say this was so much fun with great refined visuals and remastered it as well. What I liked about DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition is that it has so much blood, gore and violence in the game I loved about. Vergil's story: I started off as Vergil and completed all trophies related to his story and did it very well. It took me around 9 hours to get the whole job done. Completely upgrading his weapons, collecting all collectibles, killing more then at least 1000 enemies. I find it very easy in his and the enemies were a great challenge on VMD. Now that's the type of challenge I wanna go back and do it all again. Dante's Whole Story: After I finished Vergil's story, Here I am now playing as Dante and this was a real challenge and grind to the halt at everything from start to finished. Getting all collectibles which I had to get my new gadgets first. The collectibles went different and relocated and making it a slightly new turned to it. But I know where they are and easy them to be founded. Completely upgrading Dante's ability took longer then I expected. Yeah pretty much when doing these type's of shit can be annoying. Even now, I got it all done and that is enough for me. Going all 3 playthroughs for each, Dante and Vergil's was what I wanted to do that anyway. DMD was sticking out like a sore thumb and really annoying as fucked. Stronger enemies with their DT and I gonna admit, this was a crazy experience milk on the run and surprisingly enough, it was well worth it. Hardcore mode for both Dante and Vergil's was also a great way to get better and experimenting that kind of shit in the game. Highly recommended for this game. Next Platinum: ??? Popular Post DefinitiveTJ
Platinum 90: Horizon Zero Dawn I can gladly say that I'm now also in the camp of people who absolutely enjoy this game. I played and finished the story in the first month of it's release and I enjoyed it but it never really grabbed me. Years later I decided to go back to it and see if my feelings changed and luckily they did. In the beginning I rushed though it since I still knew the story quite well but after awhile I decided to slow down and just take in the beautiful world that Guerilla Games created. The machines are all super well designed and each have a function in the world itself. The last time I didn't have the ability to call a mount anytime and now it was the first one I was going for which made the traversal way easier. I did play a bit of the dlc and it's great so far but I will take a small break for now after the many hours spent this past week. I'm glad that I went back to Horizon and I'm super exited for the sequel: Forbidden West.
Popular Post gruffiiti
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Its been ages since I can say Ive played a good Star Wars game. There was a lot to like about this game but what really shined for me was the light saber combat and the use of the force. It was so satisfying using force push to knock storm troopers off ledges. BD-1 was a fantastic little sidekick too. I also appreciated the varied level design with multiple planets (maps) to explore. The game isn't without its faults though. Like most reviews Ive read on this game I will echo the majority of the complaints. The story itself was a little weak but served its purpose to push you along to explore everything the game has to offer. With so many collectibles and a lot of them not accessible until you progress further in the story to unlock more force skills it becomes a collect-a-thon post game. If only they had put in some sort of fast travel system it would have saved many tedious, monotonous hours of trying to navigate the incredibly hard to decipher holomap. Overall I would recommend and look forward to hopefully more similar games in the future. Completion Time: ~36hrs

Popular Post Eqill5
Platinum #42 F1 2017 This was a massive grind, in two aspects. Both upgrading the car in single player career mode and levelling up online. I actually favoured the online grind compared to single player in the sense that it was only short sprint races and there was an excitement to racing real people, despite the first corner kamikazes you tend to find in racing games. In total it took me 4 seasons and 9 races, including practice sessions, qualifying and the races to upgrade my car enough in single player. And then 181 online races to reach max rank. I’m glad it’s over and it puts me one big step closer to completing each instalment in the F1 series! Edited February 11, 2021 by Eqill5
Popular Post RedRodriguez87
#335: Platinum Hero This was an aggravating experience, but anyone who sees my status updates might have guessed that already. Granted, the ride got a lot smoother when I broke down and started following this amazing guide https://www.neoseeker.com/monster-boy-and-the-cursed-kingdom/walkthrough and it became easy to see how this is an uncommon platinum and not rare, but still I did NOT like it. But first, what I DID like. The graphics look real clean and polished, and I liked the idle animations for each monster, which gives them some personailty. The music is pretty catchy. The puzzles are easily the highlights, so much so that I wouldn't have minded if the game was just these moments. The game is also very generous with its saving; no matter where you die or how far back you go, what you do remains done with no repeats. The backstory of this game is also pretty cool; it was conceived as a spiritual fan successor to a preexisting series, but was found by said series' creator, who then elevated to alternate universe canon. I'd imagine that was pretty awesome for the devs. Now what I hated; the shoddy clunky Metroidvania gameplay. Levels look nice, but still are bland and unmemorable because they all follow the generic tropes of fire, grass, water, ice and haunted and dark. And then we have the difficulty. The game started out fine, easing you into controls and the mechanics you have to deal with as well as the towns and the fact that everything is so damned expensive, which HEY, no big deal as long as you play skillfully. But then you reach the grassy plains and are ambushed by a fireball spewing cloud foe whose attacks also cause explosions that you can get caught up in and take off huge chunks of health, so you make a mad dash to escape, all while having to deal with OTHER projectile enemies launching their own fireballs, and once you think you are in the clear, you run into another cloud foe whose attacks have super fast shockwaves that invert your controls. The games goes downhill from here, and any enjoyment I was having dissipated into the ether, never to return. And let me clarify; it's not because you have to figure out what to do next; again, the puzzles where my favorite part. Heck, it isn't even the fact that enemies are peppered all over the place, and are very inconsistent with how much damage they deal to you, though that certainly doesn't help. No, it's the fact that game never preps you for the challenges ahead, be they hints, tips, gear or attacks. A youtube comment summed it up; this game is comprised of so many trial and error "how tf was I supposed to know to do that" moments. Adding insult to injury, you hero is a little bitch of a fighter. Here's what he has; a standard short range attack that only hits what's in front of you, a slowass magic form that runs out of spells quickly, a bigass lion that can at least attack below himself, but has such a big hitbox that any shield is worthless - and shields are borderline worthless already, seeing as to you can only block whats directly in front of or above you, leaving plenty of room for projectiles to sneak in and hit that bigass hitbox of yours, assuming that was even a projectile the game decided you could block anyways- a snake that sucks ass because hes small and has shit defenses and attacks, and a dragon that can fly and breath fire, but A-fucking-GAIN only what's right in front of him and has an energy limit on both of these things, making them frustrating to use. Now throw in dungeons that go on waaay too long, enemies around every corner and in only the most inopportune places; each topped off with a boss battle that boils down to a damage race where you hope you have enough hearts to tank the attacks. It just all encapsulates a frustrating experience that I do not want to experience again. Also, the ending. It's there, it conclusively ends things, but it also feels like an invisible force fast-forwarded through it during programming, because it literally comes and goes.
Popular Post Zircon_Lotus
Platinum #104 Crystar Crystar follows the story of Hatada Rei and her quest to save her young sister soul from the last layer of Purgatory, while fulfilling her contract as a Executor for the Demon twins that manage the place. If I had to describe Crystar's story with just one word it would be 'cruel'. Everything that happens to the characters, their circumstances, all them are cruel. And contrary to many stories that pretend to be dark and forget about it, Crystar keeps the tone throughout the entirety of the game. Personally I felt really engaged with the story, and liked it very much, even though it is not a happy tale. I specially liked the ending. The gameplay is that of an action RPG. You have light and heavy attacks and skills that consume SP to use. Attacking recover your SP. The combat is simple and straightforward like this, so some people might feel that it is repetitive, but it didnt bother me. What I didnt like is that the characters are a bit clunky, I would like them to be more agile. On normal the game is not hard. Personally I never saw the game over screen, and never even got close. Graphically the game is what you should expect from a JRPG from this generation. I liked the sprites that they used during the dialogues, the artwork is pretty. The soundtrack does it job setting the mood, but aside from some tracks, it is just ok. Each layer from Purgatory is different from the other, so you really have the sense of traveling, that "things are changing". Sadly the same cant be said about the enemies. The game has almost 80 regular enemies, but most of them are just recolors of the few varieties featured. For a JRPG the platinum is very simple and not too grindy. Most of the trophies will come naturally from just finishing the story, but there are two grinds: completing the Memoirs of the Dead and getting Rei to max level. The Memoirs of the Dead is a profile of all enemies fought. Each profile has three boxes that tell us bits of information about their lives before or after becoming revenants that inhabit Purgatory. To obtain memoir you must defeat the enemy when they appear in their revenant form (they will have a pink glow and a dark halo on top of their heads). You will always get one memoir after defeating one of those, unless you're full of torments. Bosses work the same way: just defeat them once and you will get their memoir. To get Rei to lvl 99 you should grind the extra Ordeal that is unlocked after clearing the game. Going to halfway through the 4th cycle 5 times was enough for me to go from lvl 72 all the way to 99. It took me around 10 hours to complete the grind, starting with 66.7% of the Memoir and starting the xp grind at lvl 72. In the end I would recommend Crystar. To me its strongest point is in the story, but the gameplay is not bad, even if repetitive. The story is dark and heavy, but I dont think you will cry all the time like Rei does. I dont know if I should say this is a hidden gem (or crystal?), but if you want to play a less talked action JRPG, that has a dark story, nice art style and some doses of yuri (bait), give Crystar a try.

Popular Post WishingLemon
28: Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood Ugh so.. from what I understand this game went through development hell so maybe I could cut it some slack.. and I could if it wasn't a full-priced title. Granted I didn't find any gamebreaking bugs, but there was enough to make it an uncomfortable play. The graphics and character animation are PS2 tier, early PS3 maybe. Lots of pop-in, mouths moving when they're not talking, or mouths not moving when they're supposed to be talking. I might even be less harsh on this if I hadn't had to play it through a second time for the collectibles. This game is set in the same world as the Vampire: The Masquerade franchise, known as the World of Darkness. It doesn't tell you this, and as someone who has never interacted with or consumed any piece of media concerning that franchise, I was completely lost. The game assumes you're at least acquainted with the lore already and starts throwing words at you like 'Fomori', 'Garou', 'Crinos' 'Fennari'(?) and starts going on about guardian spirits, your 'Caern' and all this bollocks. It's easy enough to assume what they mean because context, but it's like they didn't have the budget to set up the world so just hoped you already knew. The game is boring. Extremely boring. Probably still boring even if you know about the lore. Run here, press , run there press , sometimes it'll treat you and you can press . Speaking of pressing , there are so many doors. Doors everywhere. You want to run around in wolf form because it's faster or for stealth reasons? Have fun popping out of it every few seconds to open a door. Or being forced out of it while the characters call each other. Or when you read something. Cause wolf eyes and ears don't work or something. It's incredibly annoying to be running to an objective as a wolf, only to be taken out of wolf while your guy says something redundant like "This place has been corrupted by the Wyrm". Great, get back into wolf now please. It's also obsessed with slow motion. There is so much slow motion I'm convinced my playtime would be cut in half if all the slow-mo was removed. All the environments and enemies are copy/paste, there is criminally low enemy variety. All the environments consist of are waist-high walls to try and stealth around, but there's no point because the game wants you and forces you to clear out the rooms anyway. It also has this weird thing about invisible walls. There are invisible walls in the prison so you can't drop from a walkway onto the ground floor. But there are no invisible walls on the oil rig to prevent your or enemies throwing themselves off or being knocked off. It's an easy plat and a short play time. But I wouldn't advise paying any more than £10 for it at most.
