Popular Post Ode2Destruxion
MXGP 2020 #33 Elite rider My foray into the world of Motocross wasn't exactly the most exciting. All of the trophies were really easy to obtain which made the remaining ones super grindy. The trophies don't have to be obtained during the career mode so you can completely bypass the main part of the game if you want to - which I did. I didn't particularly enjoy the game as soon as I had my first race so I decided I'd get it out of the way as quickly as possible and sell it. The last trophy you have to get is to reach Level 100. Once I'd got the normal trophies out of the way before the grindy ones, I was only on Level 25. Cue thousands of repetitive laps round the same 11-second circular course to get the remaining XP for Level 100. It was a bore and a pain in the rear. Granted I didn't play the game how it was intended and I'm sure a few goes through Career would leave you needing less XP - but I just didn't like the game enough to invest any real dedication to anything apart from the trophies. I'd avoid this unless you're a real fan of MX and are willing to invest time in it. 2/10
Popular Post postofficebuddy
Platinum #129: A Rose in the Twilight Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 2.5/10 The spiritual predecessor to The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince which I really enjoyed. The game is basically a dark fairytale and puzzle platformer. Due to the wonky physics some puzzles can be a bit annoying, especially since the plat requires you to do speed runs. Thankfully they’re not traditional speed runs. The game just combines all of your best time trial runs of each stage and the 1 hour 20 minute target is honestly pretty generous. I just did a few casual play throughs of each stage until I felt I had a decent run and then moved on to the next stage. When I got to the final boss I had over 15 minutes to spare. I died 3 times and still finished under par by 5 minutes. If you played and enjoyed Liar Princess than I highly recommend this one.

Guest
#422 Concrete Genie a good surprise, this game is strangely a kind of mix between inFamous: SS and Doki-Doki Universe. I loved the geniuses and the colors, there is a purity and lightness in the interaction with them at the same time contrasting with a dark aura present in much of the game. this is a mandatory title for people with high artistic sensitivity and lovers of beauty

After the pain that Anthem put me through with it's collectables I decided to go with something short and cheerful for my next platinum. Though it only took me 2 and a half hours to complete it I can honestly say for the price I paid for this during the sale it was well worth it, the music, the ambiance, the flying and the style of the game really made this enjoyable to play. Well now back to some much longer platinums. Edited February 24, 2021 by Sylvanticore
Popular Post Sardavanua
#176 Final Fantasy XIII Hallways - The Game So that happened... I can't really remember why I decided to return to FFXIII after all those years and I don't even really know if it was a good decision or not. First off this used to be my favorite Final Fantasy game since pretty much it's release. I know right? Bad taste some might say, I on the other hand always enjoyed the hell out of this game up until the point the game turns open world. After that I usually just dropped the game, because I hate chapter 11 with a freakin passion. This time I did actually endure the game past chapter 11 and now a part of me wants to scream how bad this game is, but that wouldn't be justified. When I think about it I feel like Final Fantasy XIII is just unpolished in pretty much every way. Let's start with it's story. I've seen many people talk sht about FFXIII's story and how bad it is and to be honest I can't figure out why. For me it was a new and refreshing take on story telling. A major problem might be that you probably never know what the actual f is happening until you played trough that game like at least two times. As a kid I didn't understand anything at all, but that might be because of me never reading through the datalog. I was always like "Cie'th? L'Cie? Pulse L'cie? Cocoon? Pulse? Purge? WAT?!" The game starts throwing those fictional terms at you with the very first cutscene and I think it can be quite overwhelming, escpecially for people who don't like reading. Also the past events that lead to the game's current events are never really explained to the player apart from the datalog. So I can see why people don't get hooked by the story, but I think once you devote yourself to actually understand what's happening, you'll quite like it. I for myself really enjoyed the whole divine beings - being - machines thing. I'll never really understand what they are and it will always remain a mystery to me. And I like that. Characters: I think FFXIII has one of the most interesting parties and every single member felt fleshed out and that is awesome. Many people dislike Snow Villiers. Well it's easy to hate him, but Lightning makes it up by punching him every time he does something stupid, so that's ok. Now to the character I despised every time I played through the game before. Sazh. I don't know what happend, but all of a sudden I really liked him and his old man attitude, maybe that's because I'm starting to get old myself lol. Sad thing he's pretty much useless after chapter 11 besides his Blitz abuse. I would have loved to keep him in the main pary. Fang and Hope, both characters that I only liked because of them being so stupidly overpowered, they were fine, but not really special. Vanille. Ooooooof. Such a well written character, but why is she so oversexualized? 19 years my ***. Very weird and I felt uncomfortable during some scenes. Let's just leave it that way. And last but not least: I mean it's Lightning. Who doesn't like Lightning? To me still my all time favorite Final Fantasy Character. Next up: Music. Really good, nothing felt ever wrong. Liked it. Voice acting? On top. Insanely well done. Talking about Insane, CGI scenes. Holy crap they are still amazing, like wtf. Almost as good as Kingsglaive in my opinion. By the way the whole game is still pretty good looking. Nooooooow let's start talking about all the stuff that wasn't that good, at least for me. The obvious one: Final Fantasy: The Hallway. Calling this game linear would be an understatement. Up to chapter 11 there's really nothing you can do besides walking pretty much forward. Weird thing is, it didn't really bother me to just walk forward. What bothered me was the resulting non existing difficulty during the first ten chapters. As there was no side content, there was no extra grinding or anything, you were always perfectly leveled and therefore every single bossfight was an utter joke. Very unfun. There are challenging fights though, the so called eidolons. But you can't tell me that they're supposed to be fun. When the game finally turns open world, the difficulty goes from a zero to hero all of a sudden. And that's why I hate the late game. The game tries so hard to zone you of, it's almost like going back to hallways again, but this time you have to find them yourself. Also power leveling is pretty much crucial at this point. But what actually is the open world you're allowed to access in chapter 11? If you ask me it's a cheap ass version of the Calm Lands from FFX and like six lesser areas. That's about it. And there's almost no side content to it besides the Cie'th missions. 64 of them. One lamer than the other. You gotta find a stupid stone with an irrelevant story attached to it, activate it to get a lame boss marker and then walk a (sometimes insanely long) distance to the actual encounter and pray that you get a five star rating the first time, so you'll nver have to do it again. That's about the side quests. Not my kind of thing. Let's get to the combat system. First of you can play through the game by playing literally just using auto battle. There are Cie'th missions that force you to actually think to beat them and those weren't really fun. I'm looking at you #64. If you like it or not is up to you, for me it felt way too random, because the party tends to group up for some reason, like they're glued together and that usually results in them all getting hit and interrupted, which is quite annoying. Still the AI is quite impressive in Auto-Battle and most of the times very good at what they're doing. The skill system is a hallway too by the way. You can't skill the wrong way and I liked that alot, even though it locks your characters into certain main roles. Paradigm shift is an interesting idea, but I personally got tired after the 2000th time doing it. Also item and technique usage are pretty much never necessary, besided farming the toises. Weird design choice if you ask me. Same goes for the battle rating, makes no sense for me that the target times scale with your stats. That's just a unfun way to lock the player into beating the enemies in the most effective way to get your rewards. Not much freedom here. The trophies: Super easy trophy set, escpeciall if you have a guide for the Cie'th missions. One of the easiest FF platinums out there. Treasure Hunter is one of the most overhyped trophies I've ever heard of. Is it difficult? Not at all. Is it tedious? A little. Is it missable? Yes, but if you sell your stuff that's your own fault lol. Wouldn't want to do it again though, beacuse the crafting system is so slow. Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment Story: 8/10 Enjoyment Platinum: 5/10 Time spent: 89 hours

If you do, the VR stuff's pretty cute but forgettable side content, and it takes like 20-30 minutes for all three trophies. While we all have our opinions, I personally thought that DLC was a pretty good addition. It's short, yes, but it's still fun. It lets your inner artist out, if I put it that way. If only the entire game had a VR support, that could've been even better, but for whatever reason not to do so, I understand that.

Got this via PS+ some while ago and figured i might aswell get the platinum quickly using the guide. Felt pretty cheap getting this plat in particular since you are basically using other peoples saves to get it quickly, but since it's a game feature it's allowed i guess. The plat can be earned alot quicker if you know the controls and have some base knowledge of sims. FYI The original The Sims ran far better on my Pentium II back in the day compared to this game on PS4. Almost infinite loading times and lag, lag & more lag (atleast on base PS4). Props to anyone who got this legit ?

Popular Post JoaLoft
#242 - Little Nightmares II I wish I was able to make a post of the first Little Nightmares here too, on account of the challenging no-death speedrun trophy, but considering that game doesn't have a platinum trophy: we'll need to make do with this one. Little Nightmares II's story takes place around and in a bleak location called the Pale City. Mono and Six, two small children in a world of creepy grown-ups (that's the most simplistic way of describing it, really) are being lured to the city by a strange humming, a transmission coming from a central tower. On their journey, they'll have to face a new collection of terrifying enemies and merciless entities to deal with, if they want to survive. Its story is told in the same way that the first game was told: without a real script. There's no written dialogue to speak of. That doesn't mean it is practically useless; on the contrary. The sequel's story is not only better than the first, it also expands upon it. And although there's room for interpretation, it builds up well to a great climax that will leave a lasting impression. Some things are left up to speculation, so for whoever is interested and finished the game: you can find my analysis in a thread here. The horror aesthetics may scare off people (pun not intended), but these games are essentially puzzle platformers with a great horror atmosphere. Meaning: everything takes place within the confines of a creepy psychedelic setting, but at heart what you're doing, is going from room to room, location to location, and either solve environmental puzzles, trying to reach fuses or keys to advance to the next room, or run the fuck away from whatever monstrosity is about to chase you. I don't want to downplay the gameplay either though: the puzzle platforming aspect and the horror setting mesh together wonderfully. There's nothing quite like Little Nightmares. A new gameplay element added in the sequel is combat: at times, you'll have access to a big mallet, pipe or axe and you'll need to time your swings right to fend off attackers, or chop through a wooden door/smash a window pane to pieces. Considering how small you are, there's a wind-up animation to smack something, which means a few sections in the game give you a very small window of opportunity to survive confrontations. (I'm looking at you, Chapter 2 with your stupid School Bullies!) Which translates into a little bit of trial-and-error at times, one of my few gripes with the game. But it never feels frustrating or too punishing, thanks to the solid checkpoint system and super quick loading times. Last note: the game is not for sale at full price, so you're looking at a total playtime of six to seven hours max. And although this time around you're playing as Mono and Six is only a sidekick helping out, this is not a coop game. Six is entirely AI-driven, yet never gets in the way and helps out regularly. In conclusion: if Little Nightmares was a good game - which it is - then Little Nightmares II is simply great. It builds narratively on the events of the first game, expands gameplay and adds some horror sections that are really well-designed and is accompanied by an excellent soundtrack, if I may add! The one really sad thing: Tarsier Studios has announced they've moved on from the franchise after two games and will be focusing on new IP's. We may not see a new Little Nightmares game appear anytime soon, if ever. Everything will depend on how Bandai Namco will manage the rights. If this was the last one: it went out on a high note, and established the fact that the average Little Nightmares experience is one of high quality, and one you owe yourself to play. Most frustrating trophy - ... NONE! This is a first for me in a platinum post. You read that right: none of the many miscellaneous or collectible trophies felt annoying ever. Chapter Select keeps track of what you're missing and because the game is less than ten hours long, locating everything will take you less than a day if you're going for another full playthrough. Easy trophy list of a great game. I'm going to chalk that up as an absolute win!
Popular Post hittheroadbucky
Platinum 58 Difficulty: 4 Enjoyment: 6/10 This is a game I’ve had my eye on for a while but ultimately decided against it because in terms of an RPG trophy list this has everything I hate (difficulty specific trophies, missables requiring multiple playthroughs etc) since it was free on plus I ended up starting it and honestly I’m glad I did. As far as RPGs go, Greedfall isn’t the best. The story isn’t the most engaging and conversations go on far too long, not to mention that there’s a lot of repetition in terms of quests (they all follow the same formula of go here, talk to this person, go here and fight this). That being said though, I did have fun with it. I was lucky in my blind playthrough to be able to get 4/5 endings with some save scumming so then I just had one more to do on extreme difficulty. Extreme difficulty wasn’t too bad either. The first island was the toughest, but after you hit the open world I feel like everything is manageable. Guns and magic were a pretty OP build and even with skipping 90% of the side quests, I still handled the final boss with ease. I think if I paid full price for this game I’d have been very disappointed, however this was a pretty good plus game and I had fun going for the plat. I’m also pretty proud that I actually finished a hard difficulty run because that’s not normally something I do

Popular Post Rias Gremory
Platinum #110 Infamous Second Son Uncommon: 28.33% Difficulty: 3/10. Enjoyment: 10/10. Challenge: 9/10. Music: 8/10. Grind Difficulty: 7/10. Genre: Shooter, Platform, Adventure, Action, Science-Fiction, Sandbox, Open World and Super Powers. Platinum Time: 1 day and 21 hours. Same thing before from last year 2020 and earned Platinum #110. Multiple powers are pretty much the ideal here and gives you plenty of upgrades. First off, I started as the Good Guy Delsin Rowe and saving Mankind was my top priority and helping out the weak people and subduing the bad guys in submission. It shows a very good story here and brings between Light and Dark in the open world as you see right now. It's hard for me to say which power-up is my favorite but I would say Neon Powers. Again it's bright, colorful and powerful. It's like a neon string of light that makes you wanna follow to wherever it leads too. Lastly, the bad guy. Being the bad guy makes you look like an asshole and killing enemies and civilians in the second playthrough of the game. I gonna say it's being real fun and enjoyable for me to play this last year and liked...no, loved the most out of it. Highly recommended for this game. Popular Post ZachBoardyHD
Platinum 112: Bioshock Infinite (PS4) After completing and loving the other 2 Bioshock games, I had to play this one also! There were a few minor things I was concerned before starting this game up. The first was the save system, I liked the save system of the other 2 games because it allowed you to experiment with you're tonics with how you approach killing enemies and if it didn't work out, you could load an old save up and secondly that this installment weren't based in Rapture with it's dark and claustrophobic environment which Bioshock is know for, instead it was a bright and colourful Columbia. The more I played the game, the save system didn't bother me in the slightest as checkpoints were frequent enough. When going through the game I had ziltch knowledge on what the game was about and oh boy! I'm glad that it weren't spoiled because what a journey! You start of with the world being all bright and colourful to a dark war destroyed world. Character wise I really liked the character you play and Elizabeth as you get sent to rescue her to wipe away your debts which it constantly reminds you of this. Without spoiling anything, I really did like how fleshed out especially Booker and Elizabeth were as I could sympathise with Booker due to his guilt and Elizabeth with being caged up while being a pawn in someone else's game. Even though I really liked Elizabeth her A.I got on my nerves at times because when exploring and looting items she would constantly run slowly in front of you or simple push you out the way and there was an instance where she refused to morph an object into the world which you needed for the story to continue on as I had to search it up and it turned out it was just the game being temperamental. The other thing I was worried about when going into the game was the 1999 mode as I heard this game was tough as nails to do on that mode. I know what people find difficult is subjective but I would have liked the game to have been more difficult as by the end of the game I still had $8,400 which means I could have died another 84 times and I'm the person who is just okkay at shooters, it was easier then Bioshock 1 hardest difficulty which that game difficulty did really test my patience. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the game was really easy as it weren't, especially when you reach an area towards the end of the game called Emporia and after that as by then the game will be throwing everyone at you at once. I also thought the Handyman were the worst enemy in the game! What a cheap enemy as he's super fast, kills you in 2 hits and he just swings himself all over the place which makes it difficult to actually shoot and hurt him without yourself getting hurt. Also on a side note, I understood racism and sexism played a part in the story and the world of Columbia with it mostly being about racism which to me was absolute bonkers that made me hate Comstock even more but I did think what it's opinions of homosexuals were as it literally didn't say, like is the game telling me there wasn't atleast a gay person in Columbia (no doubt they would have gotten killed for it as it was 'back in the day', but still) A little spoiler ahead: Even though I stated before that the game isn't in Rapture, the very end of the game you end up in an area of Rapture where your character Jack from the first Bioshock starts of the game which I thought that was so brilliant and if you looked across the ocean you could see a little sister with a dead daddy on the floor. Such a good reference to obviously connect the games together. Spoiler Ended Difficulty: 4/10 Story: 9/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Now on to the DLCs which as far as I'm aware 2 of them is based in Rapture. So I'm looking forward to playing them soon!
