Desavenencia
Dead Nation platinum Romero Would Be Proud A game that has always been entertaining to me over the years, but I expected a greater challenge when playing it at maximum difficulty. If you know how to solve the confrontations with the different types of enemies and situations, the difficulty in which you play ends up being a little irrelevant. Knowing how to properly use the rush button, applied to dodge, is vital in the last two difficulties. It provides you with invincibility frames against the explosion of a Bomber, for example (even running to them). But, despite what I just said, this game manages to create a tense atmosphere very well. There is a genuine feeling that enemies can come from anywhere, anytime... resulting in more immersion and entertainment... and that is more fun! If you like shooter games with the classic top down view, zombies, hidden treasures here and there, a nice variety of weapons... you will like this game for sure.

roosta_141
Shift Happens! Difficulty: 7/10 Fun: 9/10 Time: 40 hours I am just the 5th person to earn this platinum on PSNprofiles, as the game was delisted a few years ago. I was lucky enough to be gifted an old review copy by the developers. It’s an awesome puzzle platformer, that feels a bit like Rayman Origins. There are some really tough speed runs time for each level, which is why I rated it 7/10. Had an absolute blast playing single player and co-op levels with my gf. Now I’m off to finish Control! ✌️

Popular Post TheDragonfly44
Platinum 143 - Superhot Mind Control Delete To fuel my Superhot fix I bought this game pretty much directly after finishing the last and I honestly don't know how to feel. On one hand, the few new weapons, new areas and new enemy types as well as the hacks were all very welcome additions, but on the other the game is missing the life from the first one. All the levels are repeated over and over again and the game just simply drags on for too long with no cool scenarios like in the first. And of course this time there's just a single level with music to somehow rub in the fact the game would be much better if all levels had music. Overall a little disappointing but still an enjoyable if repetitive experience. Punch Line, Medievil and Guardians of The Galaxy are most likely next. madbuk
#411 - Razed Until a few days ago, I wasn't even aware of this games existence. Someone pointed it out to me in the newest sale, and it looked exactly like the type of game I tend to enjoy (fast paced 3D platformer, time trial based), so I ended up buying it without much persuasion lol. Especially since it was so cheap anyway. It's honestly better than I was expecting. It does have its faults - it's a bit loose to control, though manageable, and I ran into a couple bugs, but nothing that closing the game and reopening didn't fix, and they were fairly minor like quick restarts no longer working, pause button breaking, etc. This game gave me Schacht vibes in the way levels are designed, although there's much more care put into it because unlike Schacht, the levels aren't procedurally generated. So there are actual built-in shortcuts to discover, and there are plenty of those. There was a decent amount of levels as well, 66 total, which is good because no level lasts more than 40 seconds maximum. The game introduces new mechanics at a fairly regular pace so the game stays fresh, and even going back for S-Ranks at the end is like playing a different game, because at that point you'll have infinite stamina, opening up so many shortcuts and techniques to take advantage of in each level. It was almost like playing an entirely new level once your stamina gauge is taken away. I also ended up being second fastest achiever, but.. basically nobody has played this, so that's not particularly impressive lol. It's a shame to see how low the player count is, since this game is actually quite good. I'd recommend it to 3D platformer fans, especially on sale like it is now.
Popular Post rjkclarke
Platinum #308 Okage: Shadow King (PS4) Shadow King Unlock all trophies Okage: Shadow King is a game that I have always wanted to go through I'm firmly in the camp that the PS2 was the king of RPG's so I had always heard good things about this one. Unfortunately it was never released in the UK on the PS2. So I never got a chance to, until it was released under the PS2 on PS4 line a few years ago. I actually bought this a long time ago and has been sitting on my PS4 for ages. I just hadn't really felt the need to get around to it until recently, I think it was probably the fact I had so much fun playing through the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed II that made me want to go back and play something older too. I guess twenty years old just about fits that criteria haha!! I won't mention the story particularly because I always worry about spoilers, even taking into account this is twenty years old I'm sure there are still people out there that might want to check this out at some point, or like me just have had it for a while but never started it. However, I will say that for a game that is twenty years old it is actually one of the earliest instances I can think of off the top of my head, of a game with a few fairly metatextual elements weaved into the plot. In that regard at least, Okage is quite ahead of its time.I don't claim to be a video game historian so I'm sure there are other examples out there. I think for a game that is very sparse as far as voiced dialogue goes, it does a very good job of keeping everything flowing nicely, apart from maybe one or two overlong dungeons where there is little to no actual story development between them, that is certainly a bit of a negative. The art style and the music have a lot of charm to them and I mean a lot. Okage visually sort of looks like a strange hybrid mix of Henry Selick and Tim Burton Cinema, Dark Cloud and Original Final Fantasy VII, which is certainly interesting to say the least. The OST itself reminded me of Dark Cloud in a lot of ways too, every area feels and looks very distinct, it is almost a shame this game never got the full HD remaster treatment, because I think a bit of remastered audio and polished visuals could have done wonders for this, but I understand this is probably quite a niche title anyway so was never likely to get that. Gameplay and trophy wise though, I think considering the game is twenty years old it plays very well. I only ever experienced any sort of slow down once, which was in the final dungeon for maybe a second or so when turning through a corridor filled with a lot of assets. The game plays like, pretty much any sort of turn based RPG you would expect, although I think because your health pool is quite limited on a few characters throughout the game it does often allow for a few more tactical battles involving careful health management, when not to attack etc.. I've seen a lot of guides that say the platinum takes between 20-30 hours, although I think you could probably do it in about 18 without too many problems if you get lucky and RNG goes your way. It didn't for me though, I spent a LOOOOONG time farming for the Q of Hearts weapon. Probably added at least 4 hours if not more to my game time, but I suppose you should expect that with something that has a 1% drop rate, then I had bad luck spawning the enemy groups that snag you at least one level per fight. All the other trophies though will pretty much come naturally through story progression and finishing side quests, there are very few things regarding trophies that are truly missable so that is a bonus I guess. The trophy tiles look great too, which is always a big plus for me. All in all though,I'm not sure whether I would recommend this to anybody who doesn't already have some sort of interest in the game or the type of genre this is. It is a very good game and I had a lot of fun with it though. I think if you like old school JRPG's/RPG's even modern indie takes on these and you have about 20- 30 hours to spend on it then you will definitely like this game if not love it. I'm so glad the PS2 to PS4 thing exists even if they seem to have abandoned it now as it has allowed me to finally experience this game so I'm very thankful for that. I was really looking forward to getting the platinum/ 100% whichever it ended up being in Summoner and Summoner 2 that was rumoured a long while back. Hopefully it gets resurrected in some form, because there are a lot of games from that era that I'd love to go back and trophy hunt through and I know I'm not the only one! Popular Post kindajustin
#20 - Control Originally I had no desire to be the 1,000th person to talk about playing Control these past few weeks but this game was awesome for me and I'm very glad I made it my #20 milestone. As someone who really enjoyed the story, it was way more interesting than what I'm used to seeing in an action/shooter game, but I admit I don't play many shooters. The graphics were good but not great, I liked the destructible environment and general combat was a lot of fun. On the negative side you're dealing with long load screens, heavy lag when coming out of the pause menu, and a map you'll probably never get used to. Overall I found the positive to heavily outweigh the negative. Main game is a 9/10 with a pair of underwhelming DLC's both around 6/10 for me. PS+ doesn't usually come through for me but this game was excellent. In the time since my last platinum I also completed Minecraft, Scrabble, and miraculously, Wheel of Fortune. Honestly, spinning a virtual wheel of fortune wheel for two and a half hours straight to get the last trophy brought me to some wild places mentally. I've picked my completion up from 47.92% at new years to 55.97% currently, so my goal to complete old games and improve % is going pretty well I guess. Popular Post shadowTECnology
#125 (Milestone!) CYBERPUNK 2077 Note: I played my game on my Playstation 5; so take my thoughts for what they are coming from playing the game on that system. What an incredible game! I loved every minute of this masterpiece; minus the crashing every 2 hours or so [Seemed to happen most of the time while driving from point A to B] and most of the endings; specifically the basic ending... That is quite literally hot trash. At least the "best" ending felt bittersweet, so I am at least content with it to not be pissed here. Honestly, besides some bugs, the crashing, and that ending, this is quite literally the most detailed, beautiful game currently in existence and very much worth the price of admission. Sometimes I would just look at the immense detail CDProject Red put into making this game feel so believable. The gameplay is incredible, the driving is solid as hell, and the world easily in my eyes competes with GTA on all cylinders. I would give this game a perfect 10 if it were not for the issues I have stated. Very happy I semi-set this up to be my 125 platinum and milestone =D For those still on the fence; wait for CDProject Red to tighten up the game if you are concerned but don't pass this game up. It is phenomenal. Playtime - 85 ish hours to Platinum (Likely higher due to the crashing every so often), so I would say 90. Score - 9.25 / 10 Enjoyment - 11 /10 Difficulty - 3 / 10 (I read some bugs have caused others trophy issues, but I didn't really experience any in this regard... Some quests were buggy or unlocked at weird times though I noticed.) Overall the platinum is more time-consuming than hard. (Crosses fingers for Ciri DLC!) I Dunno, This Is Just How They Talk In That Game, If You Haven't Played It, Well, I Don't Know What To Tell You Man, Sucks To Suck Bro ³ Really wanted to like this game, as I'm a big Rick and Morty fan (I doubt there are many who aren't on this site), but it was just an average ass platformer. If you're not great at platformers (guilty) you're gonna have moments where you're trying to figure out what to do next and are force fed a loop of "uuhhhh let's do fuckin interdimensional cable man, yeah let's DO that shit bro RIGHT IN MY ASS," and like a Twilight Zone episode bearing the careful-what-you-wish-for adage, you're suddenly realizing that this isn't what you wanted in a game. The charm wore off very quickly, and I started finding this game annoying. And I felt like an asshole, because I have found literally zero negative comments about this game, and it made me think it's just me. Which is entirely possible, of course. Having said all that, by the time I was finished, I... kinda liked it? I mean I still think this is obnoxious silliness free of any sort of substance tacked on to what's a passable game at best, but it did grow on me. I suppose what I'm getting at is if platformers are your thing and you love Rick and Morty, try it. But only if it's on sale (which it currently is, whaddayaknow). Also for real fuck that basketball trophy.
Popular Post sillyrobo75
Concrete Genie After I beat the main story I was not so sure I wanted to get the platinum, I did not read beforehand about the collectibles that are needed for the platinum, and while I was playing I did not really get how some were unlocked and for some reason too lazy to look it up, but I was bored on saturday and in the mood for something mindless, so I decided to get the missing throphies in this, it only took me like 2 hours, so overall I am pretty sure the whole thing was about 10 hours or a bit less. The overall experience was fine, nothing special for me, but I did like the aesthetic this game was going for, however it did not evoke in me the feelings I think it aimed for, also the combat in the last part of the game felt very unnecessary, shoehorned into the game just because they had to or something...who knows.

Popular Post Arcesius
#79 - Warhammer: Vermintide 2 The Pitch If you ever fantasized about slaughtering endless hordes of enemies in a challenging, engaging, first-person melee-focused game (very specific), then look no further than Warhammer: Vermintide 2, a game featuring self-combusting Wizards, tanky Dwarves and flagellating Shamans fighting against Rats and Beastmen. 100% Enjoyment 100% Challenge The Best First of all, I need to give a huge shoutout to my team, the loyal and persevering @Mori (Saltzpyre), @Koro249 (Sienna) and @Floriiss (Kerillian). It was an amazing game and I had a fantastic time, session after session, playing this with you guys. Really glad that I was a part of it! Also, thanks @Darkette, our only and most loyal viewer for sticking with us through this experience, providing tips where they were needed Now, about the actual game... If you think you know what satisfying combat feels like but haven’t played Vermintide 2, then you know nothing and you’re wrong But seriously. From watching some gameplay, at least before you have tried this game out for yourself, it is really difficult to Really understand what’s going on. Gauge how incredibly responsive the controls are. Notice how key positioning and communication are for success. How much “weight” each swing really has, and how they fit the respective weapon. And many more things of course. Before we started playing, I went into this game expecting some shallow slaughtering experience. But from the moment I started controlling my character, I noticed that this game would be unlike anything I had played. Now, not to make this section too long, but combat is without a doubt the best aspect of this game. And while it might seem shallow at first, it is one of the most complex combat systems I have come across... And I'm not only talking about the mechanics, which are, of course, really, REALLY deep, and I spent many hours watching videos on hidden figures, crit values, swing time animations, etc... but the more noticeable ones. The enemies, and the required cooperation to be successful. Let's start with the first one... One of the factors that make combat so engaging are the different types, or “roles” of enemies that you encounter. You have your huge hordes of minions, weak enemies that die in a couple of hits but are so plentiful that they can take you down in the blink of an eye of you are not careful. You have the stronger Elite enemies, usually protected by tough armor that some weapons can deal better with than others. Then there are Disablers, which I think are a genious addition to the game… The goal of these enemies is to split the party up, and use the chaos from the endless hordes and elites to achieve their goal. For example, you have Leeches, which teleport behind the player and suck them in, incapacitating them, you have Blightstormers, usually walking around far away from the battlefield, which conjure a storm that sends the player caught in its path flying, etc… You get the idea. And of course, you have bosses. From left to right: Horde Mob (Skavenslave), Elite (Chaos Warrior), Disabler (Lifeleech) and Boss (Chaos Spawn). It is the combination of these types of enemies that make each encounter incredibly tense. You might be fighting a horde of minions in front of you, with some elites sprinkled in... when suddenly you hear a Leech spawn (each Elite / Disabler makes a special sound when they spawn that you learn to recognize)... Now you need to keep fighting, wihout letting down your guard, but you also need to try and spot that Leech before it can get to you. Oh no, but wait.. what's that? Do I really hear a Chaos Spawn? Fuck... Quickly, I will kite the boss around while you guys take care of the mobs! ? And that brings me to the second point I mentioned above... Coordination and communication is essential in this game. Each run should be tackled with several roles being covered. You should always have someone whose job is crowd control and taking care of the hordes. You need someone that is able to easily deal with Elites and Bosses. You need someone that can take care of Disablers before they get the chance to separate your party… And you, as a player, need to adapt to the role you are playing, and equip your character accordingly. You were greedy and wanted to kill the Elite despite being the horde-clearer? Well, the swarm just ganked your teammate, who now can no longer snipe the Leech that just teleported behind you. Party Wipe incoming! ☹️ Seriously though, without proper communication, without proper understanding of what to prioritize in every situation, without experience with your chosen class, you have no chance at winning on harder difficulties. With the exception of Weaves, where spawns are scripted, the enemy type you get when queuing a game is random. Where and what boss spawns is random. When a horde spawns, when and what Disablers sneak up on you… everything is random and on a timer, meaning that you need to learn the map layout and adapt on the fly to what’s thrown at you. And you need to do this in a coordinated manner. But it also means that each run of a map is unique, exciting, and potentially deadly. ? The Worst I’ll keep this one short. Why in all hell is there no “restart level” option??? Say you need to restart your run for whatever reason… Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just do so from the menu? You can’t. So the process for restarting a run is as follows: First, everybody tries to get killed. This can take some time, depending on whether enemies are close-by, or if you need to wait for them to spawn. Then, you are taken to the results screen, which also takes a while given that the loading times in this game are pretty ridiculous. Now, everyone spawns eventually in the hub world, where you need to walk to the level selection map and make your choices. Now everyone needs to walk to the teleporter that starts the level after a countdown, resulting in a relatively long loading screen and, once again, the introductory level cutscene. Why? If I don’t want to make any changes to my loadout, the difficulty level, etc.. why do I need to go through the entire cycle above? Small nitpick, but definitely something that we noticed. The Challenge Let me start with the overall challenge in this game. The first thing you should do when starting this game is simply choosing the lowest difficulty (Recruit), and play through the entire game and DLC on that difficulty. Here, you can take many hits without going down, there is no friendly fire, items are plentiful, etc… It’s a pretty chill experience and fun way to start this game. More importantly though, while playing on this difficulty you will get to know all types of enemies, especially Disablers. If you don’t learn how to take these motherfuckers down quickly, it can result in instant wipes on higher difficulties. It is thus imperative to learn what sounds they make when they spawn, and always make them your primary target. Luckily, our party had two amazing disabler-snipers with Mori and Floriiss, and they performed their role very nicely, giving Koro and myself the required time to deal with hordes and other threats (and vice versa). ? Now, instead of easing our way up from Recruit through Veteran, Champion and finally Legend… we decided to do the time-limited DLC content next: Weaves. Weaves are maps with fixed spawns and various objectives that need to be completed within 15 minutes, all while dealing with one of eight unique modifiers. For example, the Celestial Weaves summon lighning bolts in regular intervals that damage both the player and all enemies caught in the impact radius. In Gold Weaves, armoured enemies are tougher to kill, but grant the player a damaging aura when they go down. Enemies are invisible in Grey Weaves and have 80% damage reduction, and they only become visible once they are very close to the player. And so on. The first 10 weaves are on Recruit difficulty, and they keep getting progressively harder and harder. For “Weave Dominator” we needed to complete the first 80 ranked Weaves, with 41-60 being on Cataclysm, and 61-80 on Cataclysm 2 difficulty ? I’m mentioning this here for one reason: Completing all 80 weaves was by far the hardest thing this game had to offer, and was extremely frustrating at times. We barely knew how the game worked when we started tackling this end-game content, and we probably struggled more than we would / should have. Going for the 80 weaves took us somewhere between 100 and 120 hours for sure, and we were stuck multiple times for 5 hours on a single level. The frustration was also there because we knew the Season we were currently in would end eventually, and our progress past Weave 40 would be lost if we didn’t finish all 80 Weaves before the next season started. So we were under pressure, but the game just didn’t give a fuck ?. It kept throwing us into more and more overwhelming challenges, trying to break us. But it didn’t manage. Not once did our party think of giving up, not once did anyone mention that enough is enough, that this is bullshit and not fun anymore. Because it just was a blast the majority of the time, and successfully finishing a hard Weave after hours of trying just always felt a-ma-zing. And… that just sucked me in. Despite the frustration at times, the next session could not come soon enough. I was always looking forward to the next session even knowing that I would have to sacrifice sleep (yeah, ending a session at 3 AM having a small child at home is not necessarily the best idea…) and would spend my next day as a zombie. I kept reading and watching tips on mechanics the game would not explain you, trying to optimize my builds to suit my own playstyle and be an asset to our team, not a liability. This game consumed me, even when I wasn’t playing it ?. But, eventually, we were done with Weaves, leaving only one more thing to do for the 100%… Complete one Misc task in each map while playing on Legend difficulty, including some Legend runs in the DLCs. But you know what? After having done all Weaves, playing on Legend was an absolute cakewalk. Doing the Misc cleanup went extremely smoothly with one exception that took us a couple of attempts, and we were all (except Mori ?) surprised that we were not having any trouble whatsoever playing on Legend. Not only in a party, but we are now able to do Legend runs with Bots without issues. And seeing how far we’ve come is just incredible. Need to traverse a huge underground sewers in complete darkness, even having had trouble on Recruit lightning up braziers? Only noobs need light. Kite five Chaos Warriors around a statue for 10 Minutes while avoiding Disablers and other enemies, even when one single Chaos Warrior could wipe our party when we started out? Please, try to hit me… ? Let me just end with this. If I suddenly decided to become one of these guys that just focus on a single game for their rest of their lives, spending thousands of hours on that one game, I’d go with Warhammer: Vermintide 2. It’s just that good.
Popular Post TwilightSpira
PLATINUM 247 : DANGANRONPA ANOTHER EPISODE: ULTRA DESPAIR GIRLS What a ride this game was, I'll be honest though as a super fan of the regular Danganronpa games I was a bit skeptical when they announced this one as a non novel like entry. Surprisingly and for the fact that I always have seen as a spin off/side title, the amount of lore and character development was insane. As a result, it totally exceeded my expectations and I throughly enjoyed my time with the game and platinum. Nevertheless, there were some parts that really made me uncomfortable, the game touches some traumas that really hits you hard, so be prepared. Lastly, my favourite girl Toko had such an amazing character development, so happy with how everything turned out. Overall 8.5/10 Really great game!! Popular Post Nostalgy_Flow
Platinum #91: CupheadI finally got to play it and what to say, beautiful! It's entirely inspired by cartoons and in general the mood of the 30s, from the drawings, to the musics, or the old film effect on the screen. Bosses are all particular and have their own unique style, also the Run 'n' Gun levels are nice to break the rhythm a bit from the bosses.Really a little gem that I recommend to everybody!More frustrating plat than hard (kinda like the game itself), but still very doable, it's just a matter of learning the bosses' patterns and trying and trying again. Hardest trophy is for sure beating all the bosses on Expert, even though paradoxically maybe the first run is more tough, because you don't know the bosses yet and you have to get used to the various game mechanics.

You will be expected to master three separate full game speedruns (No Splasher%, Any% and 100%), complete a deathless run of the entire game, and set a lightning fast time on each of the game's 22 levels if you want that coveted platinum trophy! Difficulty aside, Splasher was some of the most fun I've had with a platformer in a long time. Character movement felt crisp and fluid, the action was fast-paced and intuitive, and the soundtrack absolutely rocked. Learning to use your red paint when you need to stick to walls or your yellow paint when you need to blast off any surface made navigating this game a blast. This is seriously one of the most underrated and brutally difficult platformers out there and more players should give the game a shot!
