Popular Post arcanehornet_
#313: Persona 5 Strikers This was such a great continuation to Persona 5’s story. All the characters you love are here, and they are as charming as ever. I loved the new gameplay direction, I think it fits very well. Dare I say that it’s even more fun than the turn based system. Conversely, I’ve never had such a rollercoaster while platting a game.. I fully enjoyed nearly every moment of my first playthrough. But then after the credits rolled, things started going downhill. After you beat the game you have to do most of the requests, which is pretty much boring, rehashed content. Things such as fighting every boss twice over, killing X enemy a certain way, etc. This is clearly just filler to pad out the game time. Then comes the worst offender, grinding for max BOND level. This is a horrifically long grind where you must beat the same boss over and over and over again till you get to BOND lvl 99. Long story short, I had completely stopped enjoying the game by the end. I’m sad I could not give a positive review of this platinum as I intended, but this is just a case of a needlessly grindy trophy leaving a very bitter taste in player’s mouth. Fun: 10/10 at first, 0/10 by the end of the grind Time: Around 100 hours Difficulty: 4/10 Edited March 17, 2021 by arcanehornet_

It’s a very cool and well made video, and should give you a nice boost of inspiration as you’re going for this behemoth! It’s a little long, but I promise it’s worth every single minute. It’s super interesting, and a little funny too! Good luck man! I'm already subscribed to Adam and the other Trophy YouTubers like Ludixp, Platinumbro and a few others but thanks for the consideration. What's most frustrating about this platinum for me is i used to be an Xbox player and I've done it on there, lol. I definitely recommend The Dead Space series and hope you do get them as they are fantastic even though the third entry is hit and miss. Also Alien Isolation and the rumoured Silent Hill remakes.
Popular Post AshestoAshes28
#28: Plague Inc: Evolved My quest to finish my backlog of games has just gotten smaller with the completion of this. I did quite enjoy playing through this and I enjoyed all of the Scenarios it had to offer, as some of them were quite unique to say the least. It's a very good and simple management game at it's core, and the simplicity does it great justice as anyone could pick it up and have some fun with this, which adds to its appeal. I can remember when I used to play this in the back of my classes at school years ago (who needs Maths anyway ??) and it still kept me hooked in until the end this time. WIth this, I have made the 6th fastest achiever on the leaderboard ???, which I don't think has ever happened to me so I'm quite chuffed with that!
Popular Post MrGarland
Platinum #106 (PS3) and Platinum #107 (PS Vita) Difficulty: 1/10 Enjoyment 8/10 Steins; Gate happens to be one of my favorite anime series, landing on my Top 10 list as number 4. It was also one of the first few anime series I watched, back when I started my otaku hobby. After the first two episodes, I never thought how much I could enjoy it, but something told me that it was going to be great. And so it was. It did not disappoint. I bought the game back in 2015, when I saw a review of the original Steins; Gate visual novel. I don't play VNs, as I would have to give those a lot of attention, but I decided to give this one a try. However, after a while, I stopped playing. Why? I have no idea. I did return to it in 2017, but gave up shortly. It could be because of my lack of interest or I couldn't advance for some reason. Years pass, and after a lot of planning, I decided to finish what I had started and get this done. Let me just explain something. While I did skip the text to get the platinums as fast as possible, I still want to mention that I did explore the game as much as I could. I did so after I got the first one done. Even though I remember the anime well enough, it was still fun to experience it. All the endings, tips, anything. And there you have it. While I did enjoy this, I'll stick to regular games. I'd play the other ones in the series, but like I said earlier, I'd have to give those an attention. Skipping text to get the platinum fast isn't fun. I might as well watch the anime again since it has been a few years I last watched it. Next project on my list is another game I've left unfinished for a long time. I have a lot to say about this one, which I'll cover when I get it done. After that, I'll relax with Atelier Ryza games. Spoiler I guess I'll end this post by saying the famous words from the series: El Psy Kongroo.
Popular Post StraightVege
Geek #265 | Arcania: The Complete Tale From what I gathered, Arcania is supposed to be the 4th entry in the venerable "Gothic" series of action RPGs, but was thoroughly maligned by old school fans for being a pale imitation of its progenitors, to the point where "Gothic 4" was actually omitted from the title in this version. Having never played the original games myself, I had to judge this one on its own merits... or lack thereof. The game is an absolute mess, and even much older titles like Oblivion and Fable did nearly everything better. Arcania very much brings to mind some of the budget quality RPGs I played on PS2 and PC ages ago, lending a certain nostalgic charm to the archaic, unpolished jankiness of it all. The soundtrack is also passable epic fantasy fare, and the game runs well enough most of the time. While unimpressive, the graphics aren't the worst I've seen, either. That's where my nice remarks end, though. This horrendous port didn't even include the CGI cutscenes, leaving me quite confused with the story until I watched a compilation on YouTube. Ultimately, this didn't make much difference, since it's just a poorly written cliche about chosen ones and demons. Arcania is a fantastic example of how important proper voice direction, editing, and localization really are. Despite featuring a veteran ensemble of actors, including Troy Baker and Laura Bailey, the dialogue scenes largely come off like awkward comedy skits. Besides terrible audio balancing, the dialogue is badly translated and strangely worded, with lines that often don't match the subtitles. There's a total lack of consistency in how the world's terms and places are pronounced by the actors, and they often use the wrong intonation on words. Sometimes, they even read lines that the other character was meant to say! My mouth was agape when a dopey-sounding orc spoke the protagonist's lines. How could they think it was okay to leave these flawed takes in the game? To call it "amateurish" would be far too kind; this is a shitshow, but at least it's amusing, I suppose. There's also such a limited variety of faces in the game that the characters all look alike, and because the animation work is so lazy, their faces are oftentimes creepily frozen into a singular expression, lacking even basic mouth movement. Things don't get better when it comes to the dire gameplay. Their idea of good dungeon design was to fill boring, linear corridors with enemy gank squads every five steps, artificially extending the length of the excursion. This might be tolerable if the combat wasn't such a dreary, repetitive affair: enjoy stunning thousands of samey foes with lightning, before summarily clobbering them with clunky melee strikes, because that's the safest, most effective method of play on Gothic difficulty. If you've been suffering with insomnia, Arcania's many goblin-filled caves could be the cure; I hope I never see another goblin or reanimated skeleton again. It's mind-boggling that their best solution to the awful enemy pathfinding was to simply have baddies teleport right next to you whenever they become stuck on something, which can easily get you killed in the early game. And why don't guards attack monsters that follow you into town? Talk about immersion-breaking—the NPCs in Arcania don't appear to do anything, other than stand around. You can't even talk to most of them. Quests are similarly uninspired RPG tropes, with your first task being to slay some troublesome rats (of course). From there, they further devolve into dated "fetch a certain number of these before you can fetch of a certain number of those" errand boy busywork. If you've been playing RPGs for as long as I have, you're probably familiar with the stuff I'm referring to: "Oh, great chosen hero, you will need to find the four keys of Nirn in Vespera's Temple across the bridge, but the guards will never let you pass. Locate a barrel of ale first, and then poison it with ten herbs gathered from the top of Mount PoopooCacaPeepee, and in their drug-addled haze, they'll surely allow you in! However, the road up the mountain is blocked by a landslide... seek out Jasper the Alchemist; he should be able to craft a bomb for you, if provided the proper materials!" It's obnoxious, to say the least, and makes you realize how much quest design has improved since the olden days. Despite the release year of 2015, Arcania somehow manages to feel like a game straight out of a 2006 bargain bin. It's okay for having a good laugh at the astonishing ineptitude on display, but not much else. As the end credits abruptly rolled, my only thought was "what the hell were they thinking?" Popular Post Deluziion90
Platinum #376 - Persona 5 Strikers True Phantom ThiefEarned all trophies. Fun: 10/10 Difficulty: 3.5/10 Overall time to platinum: ~42hrs The good For every Persona 5(royal) fan this is just a dream that comes true. I've had such an amazing bond with The Phantom Thieves after spending hundreds of hours on the main games that I really felt empty after getting those games platinum. But here it is a new adventure. You continue 6 month's after the first story and the crew is going on a holiday with ofcourse saving the world again. No excel sheets, guides or anything this time around with a very tight schedule to get the platinum so that's a relief. There's a lot and I mean A LOT of dialogue this time around, sometimes I wondered if I was following a telltale story because it took a lot of time to switch back to the combat. There's also some new characters joining the phantom thieves which just make the team even more likeable. Overall it's a great story to follow! The bad Switching from the story to the combat is sometime just bad. It takes ages to follow the story and go into combat again, and sometimes the combat takes like 10 seconds and going back to dialogue again. But the very worst of all, and this is for anyone wondering to go for the platinum is this trophy.. Eternal BondsMaxed out all BOND skill levels. It's a new system. After combat, requests or just overall killing stuff you get XP and after a level up you get some points to spend on for example more HP, SP or even some really strong stuff. The problem is you need lvl 99 and after finishing the game you're around lvl 60. You need lvl 99.. There's at the moment 2 ways to go for it. 1. Spam a mini boss in the final jail(dungeon/palace) this takes around 1-2min and you'll receive 15.000xp which translates in a 15 hours grind. 2. Start the game on Merciless mode(hard mode ng+) rush to the second jail and kill a dire spawn(Buffed up strong mini boss) which takes around 2-3min and you'll receive 56.000xp~ which takes ~8-10hrs. I went for option 2 and rushed in around 2 hours to the dire spawn and it still took me around 8 hours to get max level. Just bad game design if you're focused on getting the platinum. End result: Last but not least a round of applause for my 2 persona's who totally broke the game for me! .

Popular Post JoaLoft
#245 - Oxenfree I need to gather more energy before I commit to another long game for a platinum run, so I decided to focus on Oxenfree instead. I was suggested to play this by multiple people, so I eventually succumbed to their pleas and set foot on Edwards Island for the first time... Oxenfree (supposedly based on the catchphrase "olly olly oxen free") takes place on Edwards Island and focuses on a group of teenagers who attend a beach bonfire. You play as Alex, a teal-haired girl, as she explores the island at night equipped with her radio and her friends Jonas, Nona, Clarissa and Ren. An urban legend talks about how tuning into the right frequencies at certain spots can create light spectacles in the air. Intrigued by the rumors, she leaves the bonfire, takes her step-brother with her into the cave system and fiddles with her radio when she notices a strange hovering little triangle. But as soon as she does, unexplainable phenomena occur scattering her friends across the island, and putting a chain of events in motion which slowly unfold the skin-crawling history of the island, the truth of its former occupants and the severe repercussions of Alex's actions. The game takes a turn into eerie territory pretty quickly, but never feels horrifyingly scary. This is in part due to the fact that Oxenfree is - aside from the supernatural horror elements - not exactly a survival horror game. It's a 2.5D graphic adventure game injected with a supernatural plot, in which your choices are based mostly on dialogue options, which in turn lead to different outcomes at the end. Here's the thing though: finishing the game includes a twist which you may or may not see coming, leading you into a New Game Plus playthrough. And as such, according to the story's set-up, New Game Plus is not just a simple retelling of the story: it is actually a clever continuation, providing new visual effects and dialogue options which can lead to an actual definitive ending and narrative closure. Actual gameplay consists mostly of talking to characters and making dialogue choices. Alex does not possess any weapons, except for her radio. This radio does play a major role in the story and in the gameplay, allowing you to tune into frequencies to advance the plot, open doors, discover additional broadcasts to find out more about the island's lore, etc. Multiple playthroughs felt very meta, considering that they can all co-exist in the universe of Oxenfree, if you will. The audiovisual design also deserves praise: Night School Studio (the devs) makes interesting use of visual effects on-screen, like geometric shapes and distorted areas, to throw off the player's balance. The enemy design was also striking and intriguing, urging you to push forward and learn more about what's lurking in the shadows. But most of all: the sound effects, voice acting and in particular soundtrack were spot-on, hitting all the right notes. One big con I did experience is that the game can suffer from technical issues, a prevalent one being severe lag after an hour of uninterrupted gameplay, give or take. After troubleshooting my way through some playthroughs, I figured out that it seems to be linked to the online connection. Oxenfree features a neat online mechanic which comes into play towards the end of the game, but you can finish the game just fine without it. If you're experiencing a lot of lag later on in playthroughs: turn off the online connection to your console when you play. That should fix the issue permanently. Your play time with Oxenfree will be short and sweet - we're talking three hours on average. But you'll want to play it again on New Game Plus and then explore other outcomes, playing nicely into the remainder of the trophy list once you rounded up the collectibles. Most frustrating trophy - ... NONE! Oxenfree can be platted in less than a day if you commit and play from dusk until dawn. A minimum of three playthroughs of three hours each is enough to land you all the gold and silver trophies. That being said, one of the playthroughs requires you to go through the entire game's events without choosing a single dialogue option and as such, staying mute. I found that playthrough to be the least enjoyable, in a game where dialogue and multiple endings are pretty much everything. Still, this is a very easy platinum trophy. If you play it, don't do it just for the digital bling, but do it to experience the quirky eeriness that is Oxenfree. It is one-of-a-kind, even years after its conception. Highly recommended!
Popular Post Conor
#96- KINGDOM HEARTS: MELODY OF MEMORY [PS4] Melody of Memory Complete Master Obtain all trophies Enjoyment: 5/10 Challenge: 4/10 Playthroughs: 1 + many, many song replays Time: 1 month, 1 week and 2 days/ 55 hours in-game Rarity: 6.5% Very Rare (PSN) / 28.84% (PSNProfiles) Hardest Trophy: Legendary Battler- Defeat 20 COM opponents Even if you're not really here and this is just a memory or illusion...I won't let you walk away!" It really does make sense that a Kingdom Hearts rhythm game would see the light of day at some point. The series' strongest asset is its array of incredible scores from the first game through to the latest entry. Although not every single song from the series makes the cut, there is plenty to get stuck into as well as some bonus tracks. From the developers of the Theaterhythm series, it is not exactly the same as those games but rather has its own flavour that makes it very unique. For the most part the game is actually quite enjoyable. The difficulty curve is not too great, easing you in to the songs and introducing the new mechanics in an evenly-paced manner. Of course if you get straight into things on Proud difficulty you're gonna get nowhere unless you are a master of this type of game- I like to think I have a good sense of rhythm given that I am proficient in several musical instruments but I still found a lot to this quite challenging. If we are just talking the story mode here, the game is actually quite a pleasant stroll down memory lane as the majority of your time is spent playing along to the various songs from each game in the series, completing challenges and getting a recap on the series thus far. There are some branching paths but it makes sense to play absolutely every song in each world in order to save yourself a little bit of grind later. The new stuff is very new Kingdom Hearts, pure indulgent nonsense on the part of Tetsuya Nomura but I think a lot of the appeal of the series nowadays is in how absolutely bonkers it all is now. Basically, Riku and Kairi find a way to get to where Sora is, setting up the next main (?) game in the series, but we're not really given much at all. Nice to hear Christopher Lloyd as Master Xehanort one more time, a role he assumed in the ReMind dlc following the death of previous voice actor Rutger Hauer- was Lloyd unavailable at the time of Kingdom Hearts III or something because his voice is far closer to Leonard Nimoy's than Hauer's was? However, where the game becomes painful is the grinds. The COM opponents are very annoying at high levels and the game does a terrible job of explaining the mechanics of Versus Battles to you. A lot of it just seems luck based rather than skill and I could have done without it all. But after that there was the question of getting Full Chains- meaning you have to hit every note with no misses- on 50 songs on each of the three difficulties (sort of trivial in that it can be done in One Button mode, but the Proud songs were still no joke), then actually having to complete all songs on each difficulty- and the One Button plays don't count! But the worst of all is having to kill 100,000 enemies. They must have expected players to do lots of online Versus Battles, but after the pain that was the COM battles, that was a no-go for me, so instead I played 'Wave of Darkness I' a further 99 times once I was all done and finally popped the trophy and with it the platinum. In all, a pleasant story mode with excruciating grinds thereafter for the platinum, but a decent little rhythm game that will please fans of the genre. Now I once again have every Kingdom Hearts platinum. Edited March 18, 2021 by Stan Lee
Popular Post Sylvanticore
#21: Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Platinum Trophy Collected all other Diablo III: Reaper of Souls trophies. F***KING FINALLY! Sorry but I needed to get that off of my chest, let me start by saying that at the start I was enjoying this game, I played it when it very first came out on PC and of course it was a hot mess back then, I brought this when it was on sale a while back and decided to start it 8 months ago, back then I had a habbit (still do kind of) of starting a game up and moving onto something else quickly, I came back to this when the season was underway and when I was starting to really get into trophy hunting... That was my downfall a little as my enjoyment of this game dipped once the big grinding started, going through the same 5 chapters over and over got really boring and now I am just happy it is done and I do not have to think about Diablo 3 ever again! Now for something super easy then onto the Doom Eternal DLC. Edited March 18, 2021 by Sylvanticore

Time to Complete: About 30 hours Recommended: Well yes but actually no Total Score: 2/10 My expectations were low but holy fuck, this game completely destroyed it so badly it sunk deeper down. I haven't played anything so legitimately unfun for such a long time (last one I recall was FF13, but even that game had something!) and I have almost given up on the game itself...I mean they really had to work out of their way to make this game unfun, because you just can't make an fast paced action jrpg unfun on purpose! There's so much wrong with this game I would take forever, but let me say this: the game had a lot of potential and I could see it, the story was pretty grim and bloody but it had something going for it, but it never achieved anything and resulted in forcing me to play a second time in order to do understand it. Infact this game takes the same idea that "homework is fun!" and a lot of the story bits or details are tied to the datalog - ehm crystarium, and you're supposed to read that to know more....yeah isn't that epic?! But seriously, I can't even describe why this is so unfun, so ill mention just the ones i can remember vividly: -14 characters but you cannot change them, equip gear, upgrade their skills, LITERALLY ANYTHING outside of save points. If you're stuck with a group, you're stuck with them until you use a save point. FUN! -14 characters but you cannot train them all at once: only the 3 in battle will gain experience while the rest won't gain jack. Even secret training is annoying because it works for ONLY ONE! - And yes, you need all of them leveled up! -The stupid time limit for each day that really has no purpose but to limit your gameplay, especially later when you get more missions. -You can't resurrect anyone if they die and enemies have the tendency of 1 shotting you due to a system called Killstrike (basically 1 shotting you if you turn red, which works also for them). -Cannot escape battles unless your main team dies, which brings the problem above mentioned. -Boss fights are....just....just no, I cannot describe them how bad they were: constant 1 shotting me, almost never on melee reach and just....just no, NO! -Camera is so bad it legitimately strained my eyes a few times due to how quick and badly positioned it is: I guess on PSP it made sense but this is ps4! -Controls are crippled beyond belief, with dodge and defensive spells sharing the same button, and L2 and R2 being switching targets...again on psp i could understand but this is ps4, there's an analogic stick that works for that, and it DOES work! so why not free those 2 buttons for a dodge-specific button or something? -Large world map to explore, but no fast travel until much later, and chocobos have an unknown timer...and some enemies on the map will one-shot you. Only thing that I could say had something was the story: the setting is truly the thing that got me curious, with l'Cie (AAAARGH!) coming back but for some reason doing stuff I couldn't in 13, like having red eyes or the ability to fly or to live forever (hey did someone actually made a good superhuman?). Jokes aside, the setting was probably the only thing that got me curious, and the idea that memories of someone are erased when they died suddenly made me care more for someone when they died...until I realized that I had no freaking idea who everyone was! Yeah, the game introduces you to Class Zero right away with no explanation: who is Ace? Who is Queen? Who is King? No idea but there's the criterium for that! Other scenes often get cut or just got to points I never understood the connection, assuming something happened before...but the game didn't bother to show! There's even a secret about them but the game never bothered to say it, and I assume it will be on the second playthrough...but thankfully you don't need to do more than one for the platinum, unless you purposedly miss something and, thankfully, you can do everything in one shot: the game is very easy on that and overall it was doable, even though I had to use the secret training to make the game a bit faster because grinding is a chore (again, 14 characters, with only 3 gaining experience at once, while the rest won't). It saving grace was the easy platinum really: if it was more complicated and harder I would've probably given up way before. Still, the game felt so careless about everything, with not enough emphasis on what matters (cool, it's a war setting, but I still don't know anyone!) that when I heard that replaying will unlock more backstory and such I just passed. After all, if the game itself doesn't care to tell me their story, why should I? I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it I loved it, though if I played it now probably not much. It came out during a time when FF was at a low, and it was so refreshing to play a FF game that wasn't tied to FFXIII at the time I think if you played it back then you may have liked it, maybe. But either way congrats on the plat!

Popular Post StrayEidolon
Platinum #110: Monster Hunter World This is my first full playthrough of a game from the Monster Hunter franchise! I did try a demo on the PSP a long, long time ago. Don't ask me which Monster Hunter that demo was for specifically, I have no idea! I went into this with no expectations and had a great time. Bought it on release and only stopped playing back then because all I had left to do was grind for elder dragon gold crowns. I didn't care at all for the story. Not sure if the series is known for their narratives or not but it is completely forgettable. You follow some huge volcanic, lava island dragon thingy while constantly rescuing your assistant. Palicoes are super adorable and every game should have them. So without the story keeping my attention, it was the gameplay loop alone that kept me going. I started off making an insect glaive guy. Flashy moves but I kinda got bored of it tbh. As usual with games that have character customisation, my interest really piques when I make a waifu character lmao. So second character I predominantly used longswords and never looked back. I was too much of a noob to use the counter/parry mechanic so I'm one of those LS users that simply combos and dodges... Initially felt pretty bad for the monsters when they tried to limp away from their deaths. But the sweet, sweet weapons and armour though... No remorse! Especially after all of that crown farming! I never want to see a Kushala Daora again! I've definitely had my fill for a long while. I don't plan on trying Iceborne and not really interested in Monster Hunter Rise for my Switch. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that this game was one of my faves of 2018 and it felt very easy to come back and finish it off.
Popular Post snakebit10
#338 A chill little game to just kick back and relax. Something to break up the long haul in Mass Effect Andromeda. It is mostly exploration and solving a few puzzles in the game. Not much more than that. It has one missable trophy, the Hide and seek trophy. It is because of this trophy it took me a little longer than i wanted. I couldn't get it to unlock on my first play through. So I had to start a new play through. Thankfully you don't have to go to far into the game to get the trophy.
