Popular Post TheArcadeKid
#203 - World Rally Championship 6 I should preface this by saying that, for the most part, I really enjoyed this game. It's a definite improvement on WRC 5, which feels instantly clunky in comparison. The driving model here is extremely satisfying, and I enjoyed seeing all the different rallies around the world. I managed to have some exciting online races too, which made up for the annoying rage-quitters. But holy hell, is the platinum a grind. 88% of the trophies can be knocked out in 20-25 hours, which is fine - about as much time as you'd normally expect to spend on a racer. But WRC 6 also has in-game achievements, and you need to unlock every single one in order to get the 'Complete all achievements' trophy, and therefore the plat. And one of the achievements is to complete 1,000 races. By the time I had 88% of the trophies, I wasn't even at 500 races. In other words, my playtime was doubled because of this one achievement. My final playtime was something like 51 hours, which probably makes WRC 6 my second-most played PS4 game ever (the first is Rogue Galaxy, I think, which has its own tedious grind). But with all that said, I actually appreciated the grind. This is perhaps too much information, but I'll say it anyway: my grandmother recently passed away, and frankly I've needed a grindy, borderline-mindless game to grind out between all the stress and arrangements and general grief. Under normal circumstances, WRC 6 would have outstayed its welcome long before I got the plat. As it is, I'm grateful. Probably not what the devs had in mind when they made this game, but there you go. Think I'll wait a while before my next rally game, though.
Popular Post kanzenchaos
#79 - Resident Evil 5 (PS3) On my way to finish 5-7 before playing Village. I can't really explain why I love RE5 even though it's not really in touch with the older games in the series, but it still ends up being really fun! The platinum is pretty straightforward, the only real collectibles are the BSAA emblems and they are really few. Pro mode can be a pain specially in 2-3, but nothing over the top. Popular Post eigen-space
Platinum #132 - Word Sudoku by POWGI (Vita) 88.59% Rarity Difficulty - 2/10, Time Spent - ~10 Hours , Enjoyment 6/10 It's sudoku, but with letters instead of numbers. And you can actually turn on a feature that shows them as numbers instead of letters, which I promptly did when I realized it was there because playing it with letters hurt my brain. So it's just sudoku, and you'll get as much enjoyment out of this as you do with sudoku. You only have to complete a small set of the game's 240 puzzles to get the trophies (maybe like 50 puzzles?) so it's not that bad. And you could always "cheat" with the puzzle checker that will tell you exactly where all your wrong moves are and it will remove them for you (I had to use this a couple times when I screwed up some puzzles). Overall, not too bad but it does nothing to make sudoku more fun than it normally is.
rjkclarke
Platinum #313 Glass Masquerade (PS4) Art Deco Unlock all trophies This one actually will be short for once haha. There isn't a whole lot to say about this game. Its essentially Jigsaw Puzzles: The Video Game. If you like Jigsaws you will almost certainly like this. It has a very unique art style too. (I loved the idea of puzzles made out of stained glass.) I've sort of just been playing this off and on the last few days between playing Shadow of the Colossus, its been nice and relaxing to just solve some puzzles to some relaxing music for a bit in the evening, its actually a lot more cathartic than I expected it to be. I think the really chilled out OST helps as well to be fair, perhaps should have saved the relaxation for when I have to do the Hard Time Attacks in Shadow of the Colossus, but there's always glass Masquerade 2 for that! I guess now it also has the distinction of being my most common platinum, so there's that I guess. I don't mind though its not like I didn't have fun playing it, because I very much did. Of all the games I own it is by far the platinum with the highest PSN percentage I think I've personally seen, something like 72.4%, obviously there is higher just not of anything I've played. I managed to pick both Glass Masquerade 1 and 2 up in a sale about a month ago for under £3, which turned out to be an absolute steal. If anybody was interested in this, don't go in expecting it to be a quick and easy Platinum, its easy, because all you have to do is solve the puzzles, but there is 25 I think and some of them can take a while. I guess you could expedite the process by looking up what the Clock face picture is supposed to be, but where is the fun in that. I enjoyed this game a lot though and its the sort of thing I'd play anyway even if trophies weren't involved so the trophies were just a nice bonus I guess, so if its something you might be interested in and you can get it for a good price, you definitely should. Fans of Artifex Mundi's titles would probably enjoy this, just don't expect any story. I look forward to Glass Masquerade 2 in the near future as I've heard that is a bit more challenging, which I like the sound of.

Popular Post Spinosaurus Rex
PLATINUM #179 - THE LAST OF US PART II Difficulty: 2/10 | Platinum enjoyment: 8/10 | Game enjoyment: 9/10 | Plat tier: UNCOMMON I couldn't sleep that night. It was almost 4 AM in my timezone when I got this platinum trophy, and still couldn't fell asleep because I was thinking about few scenes from the game and couldn't get them from my head. This post is more about sharing my thoughts about the game and less about bragging (because it's sadly ridiculously easy platinum, even by nowadays standards - not only you can play on easiest possible difficulty, but you can turn on the accessibility options which make the game even easier). The Last of Us Part II is the most controversial high-rated game of last year, because of certain story elements game's director Neil Druckmann decided to put in this title. Since the game release, giant amount of memes was created, game has become a laughing stock on reddit, and Druckmann inherited new nickname "Cuckmann". While certain memes have a point, it was sad to read all of these comments. It felt that in most of cases a bunch of children has written them. Sure, the story feel a little manipulative, few characters was annoying at times (Lev), pacing could be done a bit more clear, and I certainly would love to see a different ending (even with exactly the same result, I'd love to see just some kind of confession). But the story was far from bad. To be honest, it was the story that kept me attached to the game (more so than gameplay, which is almost exactly the same as in first game with few added quirks - still good and fun, but started to get boring at times). I was lucky to not see any leaks, but I spoiled story for myself a bit because I read about death of certain character. It didn't change the fact I was shocked to see how this character died, and still wanted to keep going to know why it happened this way. Don't let the hate turn you away from this title, which is - while a bit less influental to me than first game - still an excellent game to experience. It just could use a harder platinum (I don't miss online trophies, but I miss survivor difficulty, it was actually very fun to play it in first game, and I speak as someone who hate difficulty-specific trophies). Definitely enjoyed the radar option though, which helped me hunting collectibles, so I could limit the use of guide to minimum. In conclusion, this story is very hard to digest. But I accept Neil Druckmann's vision about the tragic image of revenge and I'm perfectly fine with the result. I just need to take a break before tackling the permadeath/grounded modes. And definitely waiting for DLC expanding the story.

The bosses are very fun puzzle battles while the enemy variety is not as wild as TSOT. Popular Post Sylvanticore
#24: Marvel's Avengers PS5 : Omega Level Accomplishment Earn all Trophies So thanks to my housemate who decided he wanted to buy my Playstation 4 Pro, I was able to finally get my hands on a Playstation 5 today, I had completed Marvel's Avengers a month after it's release on PS4 and had stopped playing because I wanted to see what would come of the game later down the road, now that there is new characters and a few more things to do I decided to download the PS5 version and use my PS4 save data, which of course caused this to auto pop along with every other trophy, never the less I am looking forward to getting stuck back into this game on the PS5 and see what improvements it has. However, still enjoyed replaying again this great game of the saga although this version is the weakest of them all.
Popular Post Quink666
#365 World War Z Came back haunted 3.92% Difficulty: / Fun: / Trophies: / Time to Plat: 150+ Hours over 1 Year & 9 Months One of the better Left 4 Dead clones our there. What makes it unique is the amount of enemies on screen at one time. On the higher difficulties there has to be more then 350+. Class system is unique enough to make each class play different, some classes are better than other when it comes to playing on harder difficulties. The Multiplayer PVP is somewhat dead and very barebones. Deathmatch and domination beeing the 2 most popular modes. Not very enjoyable imo, but needed for the platinum trophy. Trophies are very grindy. Unlock all best weapons and all perks for all classes including MP PVP. That's what you are going to spend the bulk of your time grinding for. Getting coins is a fairly slow process but thank god there are farming methods to lessen the time needed. Only trophy that might pose a challenge is to complete the game on Insane difficulty which is the second hardest difficulty. But playing with randoms you will eventually get paired with high level PC player that can carry you if you are struggling with Insane. Even with a less experienced team insane is very doable. As long as everyone uses silenced weapons you can get through a level only having to fight hordes at story points where it is unavoidable. All other trophies will come through natural progression with the exception of only 1 trophy, The most effective way"Finish any level using just pistol" which is easy enough to do solo. Would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys games like L4D or Killing Floor. Not long now until Back 4 Blood releases!!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #366 Astro's Playroom You've Only Done Everything 64,00% Difficulty: / Fun: / Trophies: / Time to Plat: Roughly 4-5 Hours My first non autopop PS5 game. Real easy platinum (and 100%) and very enjoyable. Comes preinstalled on all PS5s. The only game so far taking full advantage of the DualSense's features. While i found them all neat it's nothing for me and i prefer playing with all the options off. Extends battery time on the controller as well. Great trophy set aswell. Some collectibles, the standard story related trophies and a ton of misc trophies and a speedrun trophy. Don't worry about the speedrun trophy. I had to replay each level no more than 3 times maximum. Ended up with a time of 6 minutes 59.991 seconds. Basicly 0.009 seconds under the requirement => Now maybe i'll finally get around to platting Visage.

Popular Post eigen-space
Platinum #133 - Little Town Hero (PH) 21.79% Rarity Difficulty - 7/10, Time Spent - ~50 Hours , Enjoyment 6.5/10 Little Town Hero follows the story of Axe, a boy in a peaceful small town where no one is allowed to leave. Axe craves adventure and desperately wants to see the outside world, but one day he comes across a stone that gives him extraordinary power... right in time to face the monsters that start attacking his town. So the main thing about this game is its battle system as you spend at least 75% of your game in battles, which is insane because to platinum the game, there's only 22 battles. These battles are not easy at all, in fact you'll probably even have to attempt the easiest of them at least twice to figure out how you're supposed to handle the battle. And battles can last upwards of 20 minutes a piece, and you'll probably think things are going fine until the last couple minutes where you get completely devestated. So how does the battle system work? Well, the best comparison I have for it is Magic the Gathering. Basically every round you have 5 action cards you can play, but each card costs a certain amount of points to play and you have limited amounts of points each turn. Cards can be attack cards with high offense and low defense, protect cards with low offense and high defense, or helper cards that do things like attack a boss directly or boost the attack/defense of your cards in play. You play head-to-head against your enemy's cards; if your attack beats their defense, that card is defeated and vice versa (so two cards could potentially mutually destroy each other). The biggest problem is that enemies tend to have tricks up their sleeves, like instantly removing your cards from play, decreasing the amount of points you can use in a turn, etc. And if that's not enough, you can't even attack the enemy directly until you defeat all of the cards in its hand on a turn, and you can only attack it directly after that if you still have an attack card to play. What a doozy! AND THERE'S MORE! You are playing on basically a board with spaces, and every round you randomly move a number of spaces. If you land on a space that has a character, you can get certain perks that turn, like making one of your cards invincible for that turn or dealing damage to all enemy cards in play. Additionally you have gimmicks like cannons and chickens that, if you have the correct attack card in play, you can deal damage directly to the boss without having to go against their cards. And if that doesn't sound like a good time, just wait! You have the ability to upgrade your cards along the way, but you only get to use those upgrades in storyline battles. When you go back to the boss fights for the "visualizing" trophies, you will be put into battle with your cards' abilities reduced to make the boss even harder; for the hardest bosses, not only do you have to strategize perfectly, but you also have to have the RNG gods on your side. So frustrating! But I guess beating a boss does leave a sense of accomplishment.

Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
Platinum trophy No. 214! Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA (PS Vita) (AS version) 稀代の冒険家 This is my 4th Ys VIII platinum (together with the 4 Ys Origin trophies! ) and I really love this game. Everything is perfect: the characters, the island and its exploration, the plot, the music. This was the first game that introduced me to the Falcom world (and their ost, since the Ys VIII ost was the first game soundtrack that I bought!), so it has a really special place in my heart. Although the Vita version has less content (compared to the PS4 one, especially for the Dana segment), it's always really fun and a wonderful game on this console! What can I add? I don't know how, but I managed to reach the S rank in the final raid (mountain area, 9 waves full of spitting-fire giant T-rex!). Hummel is really OP: with his Special Attack I completely destroyed the final boss (he has 3 HPs gauge, and I erased 1 gauge and a half!! He couldn't perform the huge blue laser which kills the entire party!) and also the true final boss (I was wrong about its final level, and I discovered I was 2 level above the boss! While, with the other bosses, I was really underlevelled, 2 down to 5 levels!) Also, this fish is really strange! Finally, platinum screenshot after the credits: back into the main menu with Dana! Everlasting transeunt is always sad when you reach the end of the game... ? And the vocal version is even sadder... See you again in another stackable version!
Popular Post Masamune
Grand Finale Acquire all trophies. Difficulty: 4.5/10 Enjoyment: 6.5/10 Playtime: 40:07:00 (6 days, 4 hours, 39 minutes) Screenshot: Spoiler The first game set quite a high bar for its sequel to try & clear... & it fell flat on its face trying to do so. ? Let's see... where to start? The original was near perfect, one of the few games I rate a 9 or even 10, it had unique/large areas to explore & uncover, & great story, fun gameplay with just the right amount difficulty... this one? Not so much. Instead of unique areas to explore, the entire game map is just some lazy randomly generated dungeon connected to the story/boss rooms, just small/medium rooms with a lot of enemies, not even any puzzles or doors to unlock. The story was barely "meh" quality too, not bad per say, but nowhere near the original (it also has nothing to do with it either, it's a different universe). Also one of the main characters is basically useless the entire game, she pretty much gets knocked out in most of the battles that take place, I think a rock would've been more useful than her. ? One of the most annoying things though is the Mystical Dodge mechanic from the first game, this was something that you really have to get used to using to have a fighting chance against bosses back in the first game (unless you grind your equipment for hours). It's pretty much the same for this game, however from what I can tell, the timing to actually pull one off is MUCH shorter now, to the point it's not even worth trying to trigger it (I'm talking about dodging within milliseconds of getting hit). Thankfully there is another way to trigger it though, one of the Facets has a skill that will do the same thing (but it does have a high cost & slow cooldown), if it wasn't for that, the Mystical Territory trophy would've been a lot more annoying. Eating enemies for extra calories is also more difficult now since you have to time your combo right without killing the enemy, but again, there's a skill for that too. Something else that's incredibly stupid is that if you download any DLC (like the numinous free weapons), you actually have to be connected to the internet just to load your save, basically making it an online-only game (you can disconnect afterwords though). Now it's not all bad, there are a couple pros, like the addition of the skill system I mentioned, that adds a bit of difference to the gameplay & let's you develop your own playstyle, & you can easily reset your points if you've upgraded the wrong thing. Also there's, uh... okay, that's the only pro I can think of at the moment. ? In the end, I set the game to easy just so I could get through it quicker... I played through both versions of the original multiple times & enjoyed almost every second of it, but I definitely don't see myself going back to this game in the future. ? TheDragonfly44
Platinum #151 - SkyScrappers After a particularly boring Saturday I saw this on Playstation Now and figured why not i might as well. Overall not a bad game and the whole climbing the building gimmick was a pretty cool idea but this game has an incredibly low amount of content. Four characters that play exactly the same, four campaigns that are also pretty much the exact same and only a few very similar levels. It was not a bad three hour experience but not one i will revist. Not sure what i'm going for next, a little burnt out at the moment.

postofficebuddy
Platinum #141: Salt and Sanctuary (PS4) Fun: 8.5/10 Difficulty: 4.5/10 An excellent 2D Souls-like. The bosses aren’t that hard surprisingly since there’s no contact damage in this game and the 2D medium means you only have 2 directions to potentially roll in. The story is a bit trippy and hard to decipher. Is the ship at the start just an illusion? Highly recommended to anyone that likes the Souls genre.
Popular Post Duffcar
#156 - God of War: Ghost of Sparta Actually one of my favourite GoW games that I have played so far (not played Gow III or Gow 2018 yet). I thought the small but meaningful story which takes place between the first two core games of the franchise was insightful and a nice tier of slight character development for Kratos. Won't lie, I I cursed rather loudly when I saw this entry had 13 Challenges of the gods, however they turned out to be the easiest ones yet with the exception of Unscathed where you have to survive 4 waves of enemies without getting hit; although even that in comparison to past challenges of the gods wasn't too bad. Almost unsure if I've finished this God of War as none of my controllers are broken ?

Popular Post RoastedPeanut
# 114 - Battle Princess of Arcadias Trophy Champion! Difficulty - 4/10 Enjoyment - 6/10 Up until two weeks ago, I'd never heard of this game. Randomly checked it out and it looked appealing. I guess you can compare it to a game like Dragons Crown, just far more basic. Sure, the gameplay was basic, but I enjoyed the combat stages and I liked the idea of Skirmish battles and Siege boss fights. They kicked my ass in the beginning, but once I got used to the mechanics they had their moments....apart from having to do 100 skirmishes (theres only 13 in the story) for a trophy. Speaking of trophies, its a pretty standard "do everything" list, but it was very tedious in the end. Hitting max level on all characters, thats level 99 for 10 characters, as well as max affinity between all characters really started to become a major chore. All in all, it had its moments and I enjoyed the gameplay, but by the end I was glad to pop the final trophy and be done with it.
