Popular Post Juzota
#150 - The Last of Us Part II Every Last One of Them Collect all trophies I know everyone got an opinion about this game and so do I. I loved every second of it, even in the moments when I hated it more than anything, I loved it. This has to be one of the most depressing stories ever told, but I still enjoyed it from the start to finish. The story felt like a gut punch after another, but yet in the end I was kind of happy how everything went. I played this game 3 and ½ time for the Platinum and I think every playthrough was more enjoyable than other. Of course the first playthrough made the biggest impact, but going through the story over again few times I was able to pick up some little details I missed on my first run, and there was lot of those details. After all praising I still have to admit that I did enjoy the story from first game little bit more, but not much. Both games are probably in my top 5 favorite games of all time, mainly due to the stories. Gameplay is great, but that's not really the reason why I play these games. My trophy hunting "career" started in 2013 when I bought PS3, mainly because I wanted to play The Last of Us. I did not even know that much about the game except it was made by the same company that had made Crash Bandicoot games back in the days when I was kid. But for some reason I was very intrigued about it, so I got it on launch day and the rest is history. The Last of Us was my very first Platinum trophy, and because I loved the game so much I had to buy the remastered version as well, which is my Plat #20. I also played the multiplayer in both versions so much that I'm too embarrassed to tell. Now, here we are on Plat number 150 and I feel like a chapter in my life has closed. I haven't really enjoyed trophy hunting that much in a past few years. My plan was to stop caring about Platinums after I got 150, but I don't know. Sometimes it just feels so satisfying to hear that bling sound... Especially after a game this good. Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 This post is already too long for my taste, but I do have one important question. Where is the multiplayer and why can't I play it already?
Popular Post MrGarland
Platinum #109 Difficulty: 4/10 (higher if played on tougher difficulties) Playtime: 8 hours Enjoyment: 9/10 Anyone who calls themself a gamer has most likely heard or knows The Angry Video Game Nerd. Like him, hate him, there's no denying that he's still going strong. I recall seeing one of his videos back in 2009 (don't remember the episode) and thought it was good. However, I only checked a couple of episodes back then. Starting from 2019, I've started watching them every now and then. Whenever I need something fun to watch, those are usually the answer for that. Besides, he even has special guests, though this depends on the episode (like Home Alone games or Pepsiman) which alone make them worthy to watch. As for the game, I've known it for several years. Ever since I watched Episode 115 (AVGN games), that is. Little did I know that it would eventually make it to the PS4. But not just the first game, but also the sequel and the so-called final chapter. Tbh, it's a pretty good deal. What can I say about the games? First of all, they look gorgeous. The original release looks great as well, but this looks even better. You can also play as different characters you find from certain levels (though it's only for the first game). Also, the soundtrack is fantastic. Finally, I enjoy the Nerd's humor a lot and these games hit the nail on that. For example, if you stand still for a few seconds, the Nerd will look at you and give you a finger. Or that how Nerd says something for each level. While these games were fun, I also have some complaints to make, although they're minor. First, the invincibility frame is too short. There were times when I got surrounded by enemies and got hit once, only to get hit again immediately which also lead to death at times. Another thing I'm not too fond of is the inventory. Let's say you have a beer barrel in store, and you pick rocks. What happens is that the barrel gets replaced and you lose it. Because of this, I had to play some of the levels carefully, in order to avoid accidentally picking the items I didn't need. With all that said, it's time for my usual platinum coverage. As there are three games, I'm only going to talk about the levels. Not too many, though. Spoiler The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures - Boo! Haunted House: The tunnel vision level. It's not too hard, but when it comes to clearing the level perfectly, it's a different story. The main problem are the ghosts which you can't kill. There are beer bottles, but only after about halfway. In short, this level took me a lot of tries and this alone is one of the reasons why I'm not going to play the game in the hardest setting. - Laughin' Jokin' Numbnut: The final level of the game is hard, but it's also fun. It'll test everything you have learned and more. Enough said. The Angry Video Game Nerd II Assimilation - Monster Madness 3 - Deadly Danger Dungeon: Not very hard, but it's my least favorite level in this game. The main reason are the blocks that fall from the ceiling when you walk under them. While I'm able to avoid most of them, some of them I can't avoid without taking damage. - Nerd Gaiden 2 - Raw Fish Rampage: This level is fun. The stage keeps moving forward, while you're hopping on conveyor belts with sushi plates on them. You also jump on umbrellas and also get to fight the Nostalgia Critic at the end. - Nerd Gaiden 3 - Sush' Em Up: Another fun level, although odd. You're flying on top of a tanuki statue shooting enemies. At the end, you fight Scrotoro (basically a parody version of Totoro). The Angry Video Game Nerd in Tower of Torment - Crappy Castle 2 - Big Mother Trucker: As you can probably guess by the name, this level is based on his Big Rigs episode. Rather than driving the truck, you must avoid it. Get hit, and it's an instant death. It also kills all the enemies it hits. On the first floor, the truck drives forward at normal speed, On the second floor, things change as the truck goes faster by reversing, giving you less time to react. Still, this is a fun level. One thing I don't understand is that if you jump on top of the truck, it kills you either way. Why? - Crappy Castle 3 - Terrible Tower: This level is very unique. If you move from right to left, you'll come from the opposite direction. You also have to collect keys in order to advance, so thumbs up for this level. And there you have it. While this was a short experience, I still had a lot of fun playing it. While I did play on Easy, it still gave a good amount of challenge. That said, I am not going to play on the hardest difficulty, as that is really hard. One life, one hit and no checkpoints. Die once, and it's over. Instead of my usual platinum screenshot, I'll post a couple of screenshots I took from the game. Just to show the game's humor. Be warned that it contains vulgar language, so check them only if you don't mind such. Also, please don't get offended because of those images. It's just what that game is. For my platinum shot, I popped it in the final boss battle. However, it contains spoilers, so I won't post it here. Spoiler I especially like the third one. That look on his face is so amusing, and so is that quote. With that done, I can finally start the game I've been planning to play for a long time. Spoiler PS. Since there's no trophy guide for this game, I'm considering doing one. I paid a lot of attention to things during my platinum journey, so yeah. It's not a final decision, though. PPS. By the time I got the platinum, I ranked as 25th on the leaderboard as the fastest achievers, which is my personal best. Now, I'm 31th on that list. I regret that I didn't put any effort clearing it any faster, but what's done is done. Edited April 25, 2021 by MrGarland
Popular Post DamagingRob
#513- Resident Evil 3 So Long, RC Obtain all trophies. Well, that was pretty good. A noticeable step back from RE2, though. Only one linear path, that you need to run through five times for the plat. Compared to 2 with its alternate scenarios, and having separate scenarios for both Leon and Claire, it feels lacking in content.. There are almost no costumes to unlock, either. Just one for Jill, unless you pre-ordered. But it was still fun to play, so I'm not too bothered by the lack of content. Unlocking the infinite rocket launcher for the harder difficulties made those runs super fast and easy. Though the final boss is an absolute prick on Nightmare and Inferno.. Even with all the unlocked items, he can kill you quite easily by spamming his three hand slaps in a row. And you often can't heal in between, since Jill is knocked down by the first. Other than that, it's another solid RE campaign. Don't know if I'm really looking forward to the next one I'll play, which is Code Veronica. ? Would have been nice if that one had been remade instead of 4. Platinum image: Spoiler Couldn't have waited till all the stats appeared. ? 4 saves, and 0 deaths. Yeah, 0...

Popular Post Mariner1534
#61: Persona 5 Strikers - True Phantom Thief I really liked this game, but then again I'm a slut for anything Persona 5 so maybe I'm a bit biased. It's worth noting that despite the game being developed by Omega Force (the Dynasty Warriors devs), it doesn't really play like a Warriors game. Yes, the combat's in real time, but you're not mowing down thousands of enemies at once while capturing/protecting strongholds and the like. You move around the jails (think Palaces from the main game) and encounter Shadows just as you did in P5, but here they spawn small mobs of usually a couple dozen or so for you to beat up. Like the original game, keeping your Personas up-to-date and hitting weaknesses/technicals are still very important - if you do try to just play it a Warriors game and mindlessly button mash, you're going to run into trouble. Anyway, I think I liked this game so much because it's still a legit sequel to Persona 5, and the devs did a great job of making it feel like a natural extension to the original game through its overall style; it feels like more than just a spinoff despite the switch to real-time combat. Highly recommended to any Persona 5 fans. So, the platinum... Like 90% of the trophies are easy enough. Some missable quests/items, due to the game's "road trip" plot - make sure you do everything in an area before leaving it, since you can't come back (the "real life" areas, at least - their dungeons stick around). Other than that, just play through the game thoroughly, use each character enough to unlock their full moveset, fuse new Personas as they become available, and you're good to go. You also need to at least start New Game + on the hardest difficulty (don't need to actually play it on that difficulty, but it might help - see below) and play it long enough to finish your persona collection in that mode. Everything else can technically be done on your first playthrough. However, that damn Eternal Bonds trophy - if you already got the plat, you know what I'm talking about. Bond is kind of like a skill-tree system with its own EXP bar. The trophy requires maxing out every single Bond skill, which requires your Bond level to be maxed out at level 99. I did literally everything in the game (40-ish hours of content), and my Bond level was barely 60 after doing all the postgame stuff. Yeah... You have three options for tackling this one, each of which is a pretty big time sink: 1. Farm a certain postgame sidequest boss: Easiest method, but easily the most boring since you're going to be repeating the same quest and killing the same guy for like 15 hours. 2. Farm a certain early optional boss in New Game+ on the NG+ exclusive Merciless difficulty (side note: Merciless is way harder than the other difficulties, but you get way more Bond EXP, in addition to regular EXP, money, etc.): Fastest method, but will still take a few hours, plus you'll want to fuse some OP max-stat Personas before heading into NG+, otherwise Merciless will kick your ass. 3. Just play through Merciless NG+ normally until you're maxed out: At least as long as method 1, but IMO the most fun since you're not just mindlessly farming one guy over and over. Also manageable if you built those OP personas I mentioned earlier. I did a combo of 2 and 3, just playing through the game again while making a detour to fight the boss in 2 whenever I had to leave and re-enter a jail. Took an extra 15-16 hours, but at least I didn't hate myself by the end. I hate when they add one trophy that requires so much extra time after you've done literally everything else, but at least there are ways to make it kind of bearable here. Don't let the rant about that trophy scare you off, though. If you enjoyed the the world of Persona 5 and want more adventures with the Phantom Thieves, I still highly recommend picking up Strikers - it was an absolute treat to play through. Much smaller time commitment that the RPGs, too, although still pretty long. Popular Post Pershing24
First three Platinum's of the year, and there all pretty good; #63 Living Legend Ghost of Tsushima Easily one of the best game of 2020, Ghost of Tsushima is a fun, challenging and compelling game with great characters and an interesting story. At first I though the combat was going to be quite difficult to learn like other samurai games like For Honor or Sekiro; Shadow Die Twice. Fortunately Sucker Punch remembered to make the gameplay pretty basic without making it too easy like the Infamous series and Ghost does hold your hand a few times, like reminding you to use the right stances when fighting certain enemies. This game has a fairly easier trophy list as there are no online or grinding trophies and one thing I find absolutely ingenious is how finding collectibles is so easy, normally you would rely on your map to find them, but the golden birds will show you were the nearest collectable is if your in their area. The wind gust is a brilliant idea too as it tells you the direction of any objective you've mark on the map without ruining the immersion. Heck the only flaw of the game is that the main story is too long as you have to liberate each three regions and you usually get distracted by all side quests and the amazing scenery. This is one of the most gorgeous game on the PS4, it makes the photo mode so satisfying's, heck the first trophy I got was for going into photo mode. If you want a easy and very satisfying game, then look no further than Ghost of Tsushima. I don't know what else to say that hasn't been said about this game, but it should have won game of the year for sure. #64 Platinum Trophy Star Wars Battlefront 2 From one of the most enjoyable platinum to one of the most painful platinum I've ever got. The grind for this game is extensive, second only to Killzone Shadow Fall's multiplayer as that game was much more challenging. This game is so painful because of how little XP you get per matches, unless your playing co-op mode or on the weekend for the double XP (Wednesday has triple XP) then you better get ready for a long platinum journey. While I was glad that this game has a lot more content that the last Battlefront game, its single-player campaign is decent at best and is just enough to keep me interest. Also this is technically the first Star Wars video game platinum I got, so that's a start. Now that I've got it done thou, I have no desire to return to this game, but if you like multiplayer game, and alot of grinding, then this game might be for you. #65 All Roads Traveled Life is Strange 2 Well this is certainly different from the previous two games of the series, as instead of a school teen drama, this one is more of a hero's journey scenario expect you're not the one with the super powers but you do teach them of what's right and wrong. I won't spoil this game for you as it is generally really good, and I do like the story arc, its just one of those point and click adventure game where you got to think before you act as there are repercussions. I don't know if I'll get the third installment that just got announce, but like the Tell Tale games, this is a pretty easy platinum to get, especially with a collectible guide, and after the last two games, I really needed something quick and easy. Popular Post Yuber6969
Platinum #60 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Difficulty: 2/10 Playtime: 45 hours IIRC Enjoyment: 10/10 Certainly not the most challenging platinum I've done, but one of the best games I've ever played. S-tier story. Tip for anyone planning to play this game: Play it with the English dub. I almost always play Japanese games with the Japanese voices, and I regretted it this time because the story gets very convoluted at one point. Having to read subtitles added to the difficulty of trying follow the plot. 15
Popular Post rjkclarke
Platinum #315 Glass Masquerade 2: Illusions (PS4) The Final Illusion Unlock all trophies You know that absolutely cliched, but true description people use when talking about Marvel's Spider-Man? That line of "It really makes you feel like Spiderman" well funnily enough, this game REALLY feels like you are solving a jigsaw puzzle haha, or at least 31 smallish ones! I'm not exaggerating either, anybody that has spent any time doing Jigsaw puzzles, even the smaller pieced ones you have as children would have a very similar experience in this game to one you would have in real life. Even down to the small satisfying intricacies of how they work in the real world, where you tend to fill in the edges then work inwards or on specific areas. It also has those really cool almost Zen like moments where your brain just seems to momentarily see where several pieces go all at once, which surprised me in a game where the shapes are all very unconventional glass shards as the puzzle pieces, very enjoyable stuff. I quite enjoyed the original Glass Masquerade but it isn't in any way challenging so I was very pleased that the sequel introduced a hard difficulty mode. Thankfully it doesn't put a timer on you to complete the puzzles quickly, instead it just doesn't set the pieces up to automatically be rotated into the position that you need to place them, this ends up adding quite a bit more time as each piece can be rotated 8 different ways so on the puzzles that have 70+ puzzle pieces that adds a fairly large chunk of time. I think that is part of the reason their is quite a big disparity between the platinum rarity of this game and the original. The Original is close to 90% whereas this one is closer to 56%. Not that this particularly bothered me, in a game like this being able to earn some trophies is just a pleasant bonus really. This game doesn't have a story so even if I wanted to mention it I couldn't. It just has a few lines of text here and there explaining the nature of some of the puzzles.Glass Masquerade 2, does have an incredibly charming and interesting art style though, aesthetically similar to the first game but with a plethora of variety, I think the artists who designed the puzzles probably had a bit more artistic freedom in this one, because whilst the country themes in the first game were very cool, there is obviously a limit to how far you can go with that creatively. I don't think I can really give a fair opinion on the OST though, it isn't bad by any means in fact I liked what I heard of it, but I'm quite an avid listener of Podcasts so I ended up turning the OST down and listening to Podcasts quite often as I played this. Just like the first game, if you like jigsaw puzzles you are almost certainly going to like this one. I personally really enjoyed the added difficulty mode of this game, it doesn't particularly make it harder, just means you'll end up taking longer. You'll get the platinum just by doing everything on the hardest difficulty, but some puzzles can take probably close to an hour if you get really stuck. If I was going to give any advice I would say, just take the game slow and be relaxed about it, play a few puzzles every day or just when the mood takes you. I played this in-between doing other things so that is probably the best way to approach this without ending up burning yourself out. I had a really chilled out time with both of these games though and if they go on sale for the stupidly cheap price I paid for them (Under £3) or something thereabouts, they are absolutely worth peoples time. Looks like its time to get back on Agro and go trophy hunting in the Shadow of the Colossus remake!! Should be fun. I also think the Japanese voice acting was good. That wasn't the issue. 38 minutes ago, BlinkWinkel said: I'm sure anyone who plays visual novels or watches subbed anime shouldn't have any issue reading subtitles. Most of what I watch is anime and most of what I play is Japanese (usually with Japanese voices). Anyone who even remotely recognizes me on this site knows that I'm a major Japanophile. I'm also university educated so my reading comprehension is more than strong enough to read subtitles with ease. All I was saying is that because the story gets quite convoluted, some native English-speakers may not like the added task of having to read quickly while trying to make sense of complicated material that is often dumped on the player in condensed amounts. 2
postofficebuddy
Platinum #145: Assassin’s Creed 3 Liberation Enjoyment: 2/10 Difficulty: 3/10 What a glitchy frustrating load of BS. I had my save file get corrupted twice (actually 3 times, but the last time didn’t matter). The first time thankfully was after I had finished most of the miscellaneous trophies like climbing 8800 meters and getting tree assassinations but since the Vita doesn’t do it automatically I had forgotten to back up my save to the cloud so I lost all my storyline sync progress. The second time it happened I only lost half an hour thankfully. The plot was... passable I guess. Nothing to write home about. I saw the big twist at the end coming from a mile away. As you can tell from my trophy list I’m not much of an AC guy. The only reason I even have this is because it was bundled with my Vita and I’ve been trying to clean up my backlog this year. Definitely not playing another AC any time soon.

Popular Post snakebit10
The Original Gangster #340 Mafia: Definitive edition turned out to be a really good experience. I played Mafia II almost 10 years ago and have been wanting to get back into the franchise. I haven't played 3 yet. When this was announced last year and came out I knew I wanted to play it. Here we are. I am glad I did. I loved playing as Tommy Angelo. I liked the whole story from start to finish. It won't be 10 years before I play another Mafia game. As for difficulty goes, I think it is over rated for the most part. The race is the hardest part, as most would say. It took quite a few tries and even had me questioning if I was going to pass it. Once I did, It was a weight of my shoulder and I was able to enjoy the rest of the game. If there is a negative, it is the insane amount of collectibles that are in the game. Other than that everything else is great.

This game has been my go-to game whenever I'm taking a break from trophy hunting, it is so fun I would never get tired of playing it. Popular Post Celestial_Lily
Platinum #69 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) - Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered Fun: 6/10 Difficulty: 6/10 This was a very nostalgic game, in a way. A small window into the past of how racing game UIs and soundtracks were over a decade ago. But that's kind of where the nice parts end? The AI is definitely unfair at the best of times, and the lack of a difficulty selector dampens the experience and turns the many time trials into a stressful experience of hoping there's no random traffic spawns in your way that happen to screw you over. I did enjoy my time with it, but it also wasn't anything entirely special to write home about, and a lot of ways definitely flawed. Still, for a game on sale, it worked out okay ?

Popular Post StraightVege
Platinum Driver #269 | Zombie Driver: Immortal Edition Pretty sure this vehicular combat title originates from the 2012 PS3 digital store, and I believe it was among the final PS+ games for the console. Admirable of the developers to give away this PS4 port for free to owners of the old version. I've commonly seen it referred to as a cross between Dead Nation and GTA 1, and I think that's a fairly apt comparison, although it has nowhere near the depth or challenge of the former, and the camera is far superior to the latter (still not great, though). Zombie Driver is a simple and quite repetitive game of running over massive undead hordes for points, lacking much variety in mission objectives or enemies. The player is limited to carrying one weapon type at a time, and since aiming them isn't exactly precise, it's usually better to crush everything beneath your wheels. An annoying issue which appears often is that most objectives require you to eliminate all zombies within a small circular area, but strays keep wandering in from off-screen, so you end up spinning your vehicle around awkwardly for a while, in an attempt to finally trigger the damned success state. Amusingly, they had the same guy voice every male character in the most ridiculous accents imaginable, which I enjoyed more than the gameplay after a point. Other than the main story, there are two additional modes available: a racing tournament and survival arena, neither of which are particularly good. Wonky physics result in your car flipping over frequently while racing, and survival boils down to driving in circles until you earn enough points for a gold medal. The number of exploding enemies in survival's later rounds is obnoxious, too, forcing you to drive so carefully that it ruins any potential for fun. Seems they couldn't figure out any other way to increase the difficulty. While a rather shallow and dated experience, at least it was totally playable, controlling and running well most of the time. One can squeeze a few hours of fun, mindless mayhem out of it before the boredom sets in.
