Popular Post daniezutton
Accomplished three Platinums in April (so far!) #103 via Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Absolutely love the Plants vs. Zombies games! This makes my 3rd Plants vs. Zombies Platinum in the 3rd Person Shooter category; never finished the last trophy for the Plants vs. Zombies on the VITA! #104 via Destroy All Humans! 2 Synchronicity? I platinum'd the first Destroy All Humans! around the same time the Destroy All Humans! remake was released! The second one is out of the way and I have hyped myself up to play the remake #105 via Extinction Extinction started off great! Then the game quickly declined after the first chapter. I could see the repetitive objectives, lackluster controls, and underwhelming gameplay being exposed with time. I enjoyed the game initially and enough to finish. Would not recommend to anyone, however.
Popular Post Eqill5
Platinum #43 Ratchet and Clank (PS4) Great remake of the original. It actually felt like a new game rather than a better looking remaster with the changes they’d made. I was wanting to pick this up at some point so I’m glad it was made free on PSN. A lot of fun! I'm always been a fan of the old Trilogy back on PS2. Personally i prefer Jak and Daxter games a bit more but even R&C is a very fun and enjoyable series. Now, time to get back to FF8 for my 100 platinum.

If this game had VR support i would have crapped my pants playing it. I highly recommend this game! #368 Subnautica Platinum Trophy 25,36% Difficulty: / Fun: / Trophies: / Time to Plat: 1 Hour using developer menu Got this game for free but since i'm not a fan of survival games i decided to just get the plat using the developer menu. Took slightly less than 1 hour. #369 Metro Exodus Platinum Trophy 11,12% Difficulty: / Fun: / Trophies: / Time to Plat: 25 hours. Played this on release back in the day. Enjoyed the game quite a bit but not enough to play through it on Ranger Hardcore difficulty. Used a glitch to pop the final 2 trophies. I much preffered the older more linear Metro games over this open world format. Still a good game. #370 Assassin's Creed Valhalla Viking Legend 18,84% Difficulty: / Fun: / Trophies: / Time to Plat: 84H 12M 34S This is probably my favourite AC game to date story wise. Norse mythology is so much more interesting than Egyptian or Greek. Trophy wise it was a chore to get all 700+ collectibles. To be frank there are alot more then 700 collectibles since a vast majority of them need 1 - 3 keys to unlock a door/doors and chest. The real number is well over 1000. It also has a fair share of bugs, not nothing game breaking that i encountered at least. Some world events refused to complete when they should but reloading a save prior to starting the event always solved the problem for me. Combat and skills were fun mess around with. The gear felt kinda underwhelming and you don't get nearly as much as in AC Odyssey. The world was a blast to explore and felt alive, not as alive as any Rockstar game but alot better then previous AC games. Platinum took me almost 85 hours and that's while not skipping a single conversation or cutscene while playing on normal for story and easy for the collectibles grind. The Grind for all collectibles isn't that bad if you do them as you progress story. You complete the story in one region and then right after you grab all collectibles. Flytings were a very unique collectible, it's a game of insults which i found pretty hilarious. There is a dice game called Orlog which is a blast and i could see it actually make it on its own as a stand alone mobile app or similar. Highly recommend this game but it might be wise to wait until a few more patches so you can make sure to avoid any of the known game breaking glitches. Resident Evil VILLAGE will be my next platinum journey! Can't wait! Edited June 8, 2021 by Quink666 Spelling/Grammar Correction
Popular Post blu3st4rdust305
Shadows of the Damned (#656) - PS3 "Fleming's Pride" I am not sure what I was expecting initially. I knew it was over the top and very much a Suda51 game, but this was something else. I guess it had been so long since I played No More Heroes and Killer 7, that I had forgotten just how ridiculous these games are. I guess this is the spaghetti Western of the bunch. You play a demon hunter whose girlfriend is kidnapped by a demon (Satan?), Fleming. You dive into hell with your trusty floating head sidekick, Johnson. You beat demons into a pulp in 3rd person shooter/action style. Turns out your sidekick turns into a trio of guns and a torch. It also turns out that your girlfriend is torched nonstop and killed in front of you, to egg you on I suppose. Spoiler Obviously, you call a sex hotline to power up your gun for some big game hunting, and do some sidescrolling, and end up having to kill your girlfriend when she turns on you post credits, seemingly. The innuendos and immature humor is pretty tolerable most of the time and actually funny often enough. The dialogue is often referential and self-aware, which seems to have been a must to get this game to make any sense. The gameplay itself is quite average. Nothing truly special. Aiming is annoying with the amount of movement some of the enemies have as they stagger like zombies at you. The Fleming boss battle was particularly annoying, as I am pretty sure it glitched on me twice on Hard. The battle should not last 40 minutes, y'all. Playing the game blind on Hard first, and unable to get any significant amount of upgrades, made for an unfortunately frustrating playthrough. Since the platinum requires 3 playthroughs, one for each difficulty, it may have been easier to play blind on Normal, concentrate on the Hard Mode and then coast on the Easy playthrough. As with most Suda51 games, you don't come for a particularly rich/cohesive story or ground breaking gameplay. Nope, you come for the style and the boss battles. The boss battles are memorable and interesting. During my first playthrough, I certainly did get stuck at most of them for a while. the horse rider at the end of Chapter 2 and the flying boss at the end of Chapter 3 stood out to me as clever fights that make use of some of the game dynamics to create challenging circumstances to overcome. The protagonist, Garcia Hotspur, is probably the most badass that I have seen come from Suda51. Sure, he is a bit of a stereotype, and thus, also a bit of a misogynist (this is nicely subverted throughout the game), but he is still just a badass. I would not mind a sequel, spin off, or Suda51 mega game with all of his protagonists, just to play as Garcia Hotspur some more. The guns use neon colors for the sightlines, which contrast nicely with the bloody and dreary settings of the levels. The currency is white, red and blue gems, which provide a bit of an arcade-y feeling to the regular gameplay. Overall, this is a good game. Definitely not for everybody and probably a bad starting point for a person who has never played a Suda51 game before. I certainly approached it incorrectly and made the platinum path more painful than it needed to be. Now, to get my hands on the rest of Suda51's PS3 fare.

Popular Post arcanehornet_
Platinum #335: Crash Bandicoot 1 This is by far the hardest game in the whole Crash Trilogy. Like god damn, this game is absolutely unforgiving. Useful features such as slide jumps and the sprint boots are nowhere to be found in this entry, which makes platforming way more challenging in general. It does not help that this game has some of the longest levels in the trilogy. Overall this game was very good as a start for the Crash series, but after playing the other 2 it just felt primitive and very clunky. I recommend playing the series in order exactly for this reason (I went backwards ) About the plat: Every bit as straightforward as the other two entries, except this one is way more difficult. The clear gems for breaking all boxes were mostly easy thankfully, there weren’t any really hard levels. However, once you get to those relics is where things get spicy. Crash 1 in general is a platformer inherently based on patience. Essentially, this means that it isn’t meant or built to be rushed. This is why some the relics in Crash 1 are a nightmare. Hard, sometimes horrifically long levels with no way to go faster or use moves which need to be completed under a certain time. A big Fuck you goes to these stages especially: -Stormy Ascent -Sunset Vista -Fumbling in the dark -The Lab Stormy Ascent Gold Relic This level is really, really bad which is why I felt that it needed its own section. Those horror stories you heard about this level? Yea it’s that bad. Stormy Ascent is a level that was cut from the original game on PS1 because it was too hard. Yeah, thet should say plenty already. This level is very similar to Slippery Climb from the base game, except everything turned up to 11. Timed, disappearing platforms which turn into slippery slopes, platforms moving at the speed of a bullet train, enemies throwing projectiles, wonky hitboxes. Yea I could go on. The gold relic time is actually very generous, I hit it with 30 seconds left on the clock. The actual incredibly difficult part of this is just staying alive for that long amidst the dozens of traps and enemies. On a better note, that’s the whole Crash trilogy done and dusted. The only game standing in my way of 100%-ing the whole Crash series is the infamous Crash 4. Hoo boy. Popular Post Redgrave
#208: The Greatest Detective - Judgment Another game from RGG Studios that is set in the same setting as Yakuza but this time it focuses more on being a detective which was a nice change of pace from the underworld stuff that Kiryu and the other characters from the mainline Yakuza games get into. Normally I think it would be pretty hard to make a game that's in a familiar setting but with a different story however I think Judgment stands out very well on its own despite it taking place in Kamurocho and that's all that there really is to tie it in with the mainline Yakuza games since there's no mention of Kiryu or any other characters from the other games except for a couple references with one being a drone decal and the other being the Tiger Drop ability. The cast for the main characters are a nice change of pace too since all but a couple of them are lawyers and they don't do anything shady. Probably my favorite secondary character was Kaito who used to be in the yakuza and I think the dynamic between him and Yagami was really great. There are a few more that are great too but it kind of goes into spoiler territory so all I'll say is that Yagami and the group he is with are a nice change of pace and I wouldn't mind seeing more of them. Gameplay-wise it's also on the Dragon Engine again and they bring back style switching with Yagami's Crane and Tiger styles so the combat definitely felt more fluid compared to how it started off in Yakuza 6. I think the only main drawback is that unlike Kiwami 2 you don't get to have weapons in your inventory and I'm not sure if it was because they couldn't find a way to implement it in time or if it's because Yagami does follow the law and so buying weapons from a shady dealer in a back alley would be against his character. ? They do kind of make up for it though with the Extracts you can make which give you a number of buffs and give you more attacks or make your attacks faster and unblockable. However I do wish there could have been a thing where Yagami buys armor to wear though or other items to give him some stat bonuses mainly for one reason I will mention below. New to the series is the Mortal Wounds mechanic which means that if you get shot by a gun or an enemy does a special attack on you when they start glowing you will have a bit of your health bar cut off and you will have to use a medkit or go visit a doctor in the sewers to fully restore your health bar. I think on paper it is a good mechanic to have but I do feel like it could have been implemented better. It makes sense that guns and swords would be more deadly to someone like Yagami who isn't anywhere near the beast that is Kiryu, but the problem comes with how the only way you can treat it is by spending 20,000 Yen at the doctor to fix it, or buy medkits which the cheapest ones go for 40,000 Yen. Money isn't exactly hard to come by but I do feel like the prices could have been adjusted especially since some bosses or enemies that do Mortal Wounds on you will half your health bar in a single attack and so eventually the prices do start adding up. Not to mention a couple mini-boss enemies that use guns and it just becomes flat out annoying to deal with. This is where I think being able to buy armor or other items could have come in handy since it would have been nice to be able to at least lessen the damage done by the annoying gun bosses or one in particular that nearly kills you with a sword attack. Again, I think it's a fine mechanic that brings something new to the table but I do feel like they could have implemented other ways to deal with it better and should they make another one I would hope they do that. But perhaps the most annoying thing in the whole game is the Threat Level from a group called the Keihin Gang that comes up whenever you don't want it to. This is basically a way to have it where you can fight up to four mini-boss enemies that spawn in the city somewhere while also increasing the encounter rate of other groups of enemies. It starts off okay but when it happens after the 10th or so time it just got really annoying to where I stopped caring about fighting the mini-bosses and would use a Stealth Extract to avoid fights. They make an attempt to guilt trip you if you don't deal with it by having a store owner named Kim text you and say how people got hurt or whatever but I stopped giving a shit because the mini-boss enemies were repetitive and getting jumped every time I turned a corner got really annoying. All those mini-bosses can do a Mortal Wound type attack on you as well but the worst one is one that dual-wields pistols and will just drop your health bar if you don't pummel him as fast as possible. This is something that I would definitely not miss if they decided to not bring it back in any other game. That said, as is Yakuza tradition there are a bunch of mini-games to do with their own completion requirements. The most infamous one being Puyo-Puyo which requires you to get about 25-30+ wins in a row in order to beat all the opponents. This took me about two weeks to do because while I did understand how to play the game and knew how to use the three-tower method, I eventually started feeling like it was more down to luck and just hoping the AI opponent doesn't just clobber me with combos before I can really do anything. There were a few times in particular where I barely got the third tower set up and one of the opponents, either the fish or the girl with the rabbit did a big chain on me and filled up half my screen and there was nothing I could do. Eventually though I managed to get a good win streak and the final opponent showed up after 27 wins, and after beating her I went on up until I think 37 or 38. I was very glad to have gotten it done despite almost feeling like giving up because I feel like having to win 25-30+ times in a row for pretty much anything is a bit too much. The real kicker though is apparently in the PS5 version they are taking out Puyo-Puyo and replacing it with Outrun or VF2, so yeah, if you're playing the game for the first time on PS5 count yourself lucky... Drone racing is another new thing added, and in a way I did like it but I think I would have found it even harder than Puyo-Puyo if you couldn't save scum it since you do have to do a Champion League which means getting first place in all 10 races but thankfully they allow you to quit out and continue on from where you left off after each race. Other than those there is Mahjong which was tedious as usual but I got it done eventually even if it wasn't as fast as I would have liked (a.k.a in one or two days, which actually took like four I think). There are also new mini-games such as Kamuro of the Dead which is based on Dead Souls and I found that to be fun since it was kind of like a light-gun game and I feel like I would actually play that if it were in an arcade. ? They also added Motor Raid which is a Sega racing game from the 90s that I also found to be a lot of fun since in that you race but you're also allowed to attack other opponents like in Road Rage. It was basically a mix between Road Rage and F-Zero so I definitely think Sega could bring that series back somehow. Who knew all it took for me to like a racing game was to allow me to club other opponents on the head with a big hammer or a futuristic looking scimitar. ? All that said, I think Judgment does stand up well alongside the other Yakuza games and would like to see more of Yagami and his group. I also think it's one of my prouder Platinums because of the Puyo-Puyo requirements which I know for a lot of people is a "make it or break it" kind of thing.
Popular Post kindajustin
#26 - Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends I never watched Kung Fu Panda and only decided to do so recently because I was convinced to get this game by a friend. Other than Kung Fu and some pandas I didn't really know what to expect from movie or game. But the idea of fully grown, 300-pound bears launching themselves into the air for a jump kick is pretty damn funny if I'm being honest so I decided to keep an open mind about the whole thing. Now that I've watched the first movie and completed this game, I can truly say I got an authentic Kung Fu Panda experience. My playthrough felt just like Po's experience, because at first I was getting my ass handed to me left and right. As I briefly mentioned above, @Anxiety is the guy who wanted to play this game with me and I'm really glad he knew what he was doing because I don't play fighting games often and wow was I out of my league in the beginning. I ended up asking him to create and send me a tutorial video so I could play this damn game haha. I have no problem admitting I'm a pretty mediocre gamer so getting absolutely lamped for a few days in a game targeted at 7-10 year olds was the humbling experience I never knew I needed. Once I had things figured out, it's actually a pretty fun game to play. It's not too difficult once you know what you're doing and if this isn't your first fighting game since the Gamecube/PS2 era (my bad) you could probably get the hang of it fairly quick. Some of the controls were a bit unreliable in my experience. I can be standing over an item trying to pick it up for 15 seconds and an oppenent will grab it from under me and whack me with it immediately. Tournament opponents are mostly random so getting 3 strong enemies in the 1v3 match can ruin a tourney run but they're pretty quick overall. The gameplay was unoriginal and a bit repetitive if I'm being honest but the tourneys were somewhat fun. I'm probably older than the target demographic for this game, but apparently these are the things we do for UR trophies. Graphically, the game is nothing special but looks good for an early PS4 title. Overall I give it a solid 5/10 fun and 5/10 difficulty. It's a fun game, but the painfully long grind to platinum and repetitive gameplay makes it hard to recommend this title over others we could be talking about. Popular Post Yuber6969
#62: XBlaze Code: Embryo The "Congratulation" in the trophy image is fitting as there are a lot of translation errors in this game. Difficulty: 1.5/10 This is my easiest platinum to date. There was basically no gameplay. It was like watching an interactive anime. I would have rated it 1/10, but I gave it an extra 0.5 as there are a lot of missables. The story branches into multiple directions depending on your choices. I followed a very detailed walkthrough and I still missed one thing in the end. Enjoyment: 7/10 Unlike a lot of people, I enjoyed the story quite a bit. I'm not a fan of multiple endings in any game, but I would still say that I liked the story, especially the canon(?) route. The story was good enough that I will likely be starting the sequel right away. I would have enjoyed this game a lot more if there was a little bit of gameplay. Yes, I know that this is a visual novel, but I prefer my VNs to have some gameplay (Danganronpa is a good example). Popular Post TheDragonfly44
Platinum 157 - The Walking Dead Collection I recognize that telltale games have never been difficult or impressive platinums but i wanted to share this because Telltale's The Walking Dead is a game series I hold very near and dear to my heart, even the third season which isn't exactly cherished is one of my favorite games ever made. Unfortunately this collection doesn't have The Final Season which is my favorite one but replaying through these games still gave me a lot of nostalgia and reminded me how much they inspired me and have effected my life. 157 is also an important number to me for reasons im not gonna get into that are actually directly related to this series so it just felt right and i had to make this game my 157th platinum, i even made The Final Season my 100th and if thats not dedication then i don't know what is. Anyways, I probably won't replay these games again for a long while but I'll never forget them and when i finally get back around to them I'll love them all the same.

Popular Post Jelly Soup
#146 - Subnautica I did developer console for this one, but I'm playing it normally via Steam. I'm generally not a fan of survival crafting games, but this is really good. It's scary as hell going deeper and deeper into the ocean, but it feels surprisingly rewarding. Resources to make useful (and sometimes decorative) tools, seeing some really beautiful landscapes and snap pictures of creative fish species. It's really easy to forget about the intended goal of the game and just build an extravagant base to expand endlessly. Which can also house my ever growing collection of bioluminescent fish, with tanks powered by thermal vents. High recommend.

This game is trash in all aspects that you can think of. Input lag, server lag, generic shitty gameplay, shitty maps, shitty shit. The most fun from the prequel was the incredibly stupid voicelines, and even that is missing here. So I don't know what they were smoking when they released this game a year after revolution shutdown. Atleast revolution was a bit playable and there was a playerbase, this is just hot garbage. A fun game with a lot of old references and nostalgia and the game looks just gorgeous. The gameplay isn't hold back either as it is a very competent (a tad bit to easy) platformer. I even read otomes, can you believe it! But this one... Hm. So I like the ideas behind this game, there's a lot of potential for some really cool world building and the game has some really interesting art direction choices that I admire. The problem is that all the routes are basically the same, all that changes is who is with you when your game ends. They literally have all the same story beats but with the love interest simply subbed in and out. This really hurts the game because each route is really short, and most of the love interests need more time with the main character to make their relationship seem believable. It makes sense that her best friend and her end up together after a short amount of time, but the dude who's constantly an ass to the main character? I dunno. That doesn't even include like the short alternate ending where the MC runs away with a dude she just met. There's cool ideas in that based solely on the world building, but the routes are already short so having an even shorter route with someone she met a week ago? Oof. Overall it was an okay way to spend a free day, I like the art (there's some beefcake in there though, so probably not for everyone lol) and the voice acting was pretty good. Maybe get this on sale if you want to give it a look out of curiosity. Edited April 27, 2021 by MissShake
