Popular Post Phoenix_argentea
Platinum trophy No. 219! The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince (NA version) My truest self A double platinum for this amazing fairy tale! I really love the art and the music of this game. Just a couple of trophies could be a little bit annoying (like "complete the level without killing any enemy"), but it's an easy and short platinum. Popular Post Darghel
#104 World War Two Hero (Battlefield V) Difficulty: Besides the frustrating hardcore campaign, it's mostly grinding stuff Time to Complete: 25 hours Recommended: Yes...and no. Total Score: 7/10 Well, good thing this was given for "free" from psn plus (yes i know it's not actually free!) because I would never buy this on my own: unlike BFI, which had quite a lot of stuff going, and a very cool campaign, this game has so many issues that it's hard to say. I mean, besides the "obvious" problems, this game just doesn't feel like a WWII game: it feels like a BF game loosely inspired by WWII, and because of this it lacks a proper identity. It just felt totally anonymous in my opinion, which is amazing when you are dealing with WWII! I mean there are entire games based on WWII alone with more stuff going than this! Look at Wolfenstein as an example! Besides the identity problems, the game itself is...okay: the multiplayer was more fun to do for me, probably because it felt more straightforward as I wasn't a fan of the system used in bf1. The maps were hit or miss, preferring the medium/small maps the most because of how compact they felt. Weapons were also hit or miss: some were different enough, like Support having machine guns or shotguns, or Assault having semi-auto and rifles...but most weapons felt samey at one point and I usually kept using one or two. Even the classes themselves felt lackluster too: besides Medic and Support being quite unique (One can heal/revive, the other can repair/build weapons or tanks), Assault just felt like the Support but with more explosives and recon was...well a sniper really. I dunno, it felt as if their only unique perk were the weapons and that's it and because of that it could become boring real quick. And last, but definitely not least, the campaign was bad: I played the campaign needed for the trophy, skipping the last because "screw it" and my Lord, hardcore was not a fun ride: most missions were just too frustrating, too many stealth missions without ways to properly kill your enemies from afar (the second campaign has throwing knives, which helped) and enemies had such an insane aim that could hit me through the slightest gap of any cover! Heck in the third campaign of Tirailleur, near the ending of the campaign, enemies were so freaking precise that I had a split second to shoot before taking nearly deadly damage. Just not fun, at all, and most campaign missions were also samey, with a huge lack of checkpoints too: it wasn't uncommon for me to have to redo the whole section because destroying one target wasn't enough, sometimes having to do all 2-3 targets before reaching a checkpoint, with infinitely respawning enemies (some of which literally spawned on top of me, or behind me) and every enemy had the precision of an aimbot. Yeah, definitely not fun... The only saving grace is that the MP was somewhat fun, most trophies are doable (Death from Above might be difficult one to do, but Arras was a good map, and I was lucky to find a server who was hosting for that trophy) and it's fairly short too, only 21 trophies to beat. I would recommend it but I don't know because while the campaign might be a huge roadblock, it's just overall a boring game and after this, I might delete my copy and move on, because I don't really think I would keep playing much after this. It's fun in short bursts I guess but it's not exactly a game made for pick up and play, since matches can last almost 20-30 minutes. It was fun, but it overstayed its welcome. Popular Post blu3st4rdust305
Killer is Dead (#665) - PS3 "Perfect Killer" Round 2 of 4 of my dive into Suda51's PS3 acid trips. After Shadows of the Damned's somewhat cohesive story, this game is sheer nonsense. Something about an agency which functions as a for-hire assassin's squad, but the main character has some sort of inner turmoil regarding the violence that led to his deformation. I think? Maybe? Having played thru the campaign 3 times for trophies, I still do not really know what this game was about. What I can say is that the game has a fairly short campaign consisting of 12 chapters, all culminating in a boss fight. The bosses here are not super memorable, maybe because the fights were repetitive. Instead of having a gimmick to beat them, it is just a bunch of hacking and slashing. You fight Alice turned spider monster, Tommy the tank engine, and a giant beam shooting scientist-clone thing. Lots of shooting and slashing. The game is stylish, as one would expect from a Suda51 game. The cel-shading is a bit oversaturated, and in some sequences the colors used are overly dark and disorienting. The levels are narrow and not deeply drawn. The enemies are also pretty repetitive. I guess it felt formulaic for a Suda game, if that is even possible. The platinum is much more tedious than Shadows of the Damned. Both games required 3 playthrus as difficulties do not stack. But this game requires amassing $100M in cash and achieving AAA rank in 44 missions. The grind to $100M is not really that long. I think I took 5-7 hours of playing the same mission over and over again. But it is not that fun. The AAA rank requires playing each level often while meeting specific requirements such as not getting hit or using specific skills a number of times. Overall, the platinum took about 40 hours, I truly hope the 2 remaining games are better than this overall, and have more memorable paths to the platinums. Lollipop Chainsaw is likely next on my list.

Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #600: Difficulty: 6/10 Playtime: 50-60 hours So... here I am, having done everything I can to boardroll my way to another epic milestone! (Heeeeeey... if you hit yourself in the head and squint, it looks like a 900! C'mon, play along...! ?) There were a few potential candidates for this vaunted spot... but in the end, it was the easiest of choices. After all, me and Antonio the Hawk go way back... it's as close as I've ever gotten to willingly playing (non-predetermined) sports games of my own volition, and I've got a certain childhood friend of mine to thank for getting me into it. Heck, I even developed a notion of becoming a Sk8r Boi myself, and got halfway to nailing a halfway decent ollie before I took a bad spill, tore up my entire leg, and left my board on the shelf forevermore. I suppose I could make a Roy Hobbsian late-stage return at some point in future, but I think I enjoy digital boarding just a smidgeonette more, y'know? And speaking of... oh boy, poor old Tony sure was due a good outing after more than a decade lost in a Roman wilderness of pain, huh? Nevermind the misaimed ambitions of yesteryear, because this lovingly compiled remaster of THPS1 and 2 is everything it needs to be to restore glory to Tony's name. The irreproachably brilliant core of the original games is left largely unaltered, and wherever change is enacted, it is for the better, such as the implementation of innovations from later games such as reverts, acid drops, and multi-tap trick tweakage. And even though the time-honored timed goals-based gameplay is still as fun as ever, they take it a few steps further by adding a variety of challenges to undertake, ranging from achieving high scores to chaining together gaps. And the, umm, challenge inherent to these challenge make this one of the most satisfying THPS games to complete, ever... especially for someone as inordinately talented at THPSing as I... hey, just stating objective facts here! Get-Theres allow for a lot of improvisation and experimentation, as do the speedruns. The Playlist Exploration challenges (speaking of playlists, here's a shameless plug for my personally curated THPS playlist, which undoubtedly took me longer to compile than THPS5's combined development time...), which see you completing gaps in public online matches, are my favourite innovation in this game. Indeed, fhere are enough challenges to get you some two thirds of the way to level 100! You're playing yourself if you're just doing a repetitive grind to triple digit stardom when there is such a heaping variety of ways to, ahem, get there. Easily one of my most cherished ultra rares, right here. Suffice to say, THPS1+2 is the real deal, and a great deal more than just a fresh paint of coat. They still shoulder the burden of serving as gently obsolete practice for the series' high water mark in THPS3, but through a pitch-perfect balancing act between nostalgia and innovation, this is the greatest way to play these games and a perfect series gateway besides. Even with a prospective PS5 autopop looming, I's still rather happily do this whole thing again. That's as sound an affirmation of its quality as I can muster. The King is back, baby! No more pretending to be a superman for the Birdman...! Rating: 8.5/10 (As a slightly irrelevant aside, I didn't even realize before halfway through this write-up, that I popped this milestone on no less a date than May 16! That's the kind of serendipitous happenstance that almost makes you believe in predestination and stuff, ya know? ?)

I’ve already complained about this game when I played the first one, and it didn’t change much in this one. Actually, they add more to it. The story was interesting but the amount of cringe and anime clichés ruined the experience for me. It has too many characters that are bland and boring, and don’t let me start with that purple woman that into young girls ? I wish someone would tell them that they’re working on a game not a novel for god’s sake!! The amount of dialogue in this game is insane. I swear if they could cut 75% of it, the story will still be told and understood. The entire game was like a filler where the only important parts were the 10% at the beginning and the 10% at the end. The trophies were so stressful and overwhelming. I had to hold into my phone during the whole game to make sure I won’t miss anything. Which is something I hate to do. I prefer to play a game and experience it myself, and then check the trophies. Also, I hate how they force you to see all the characters’ bonding events when I barely cared about any of them. I saw some cut-scenes for the next two games and oh god the train of disgust and cringe doesn’t stop here, it actually gets worse … yep totally dropping this ? I looked at the roadmap and saw trophies tied to choices that cancel each other out. Sounds annoying. In the DE you just get chapter trophies regardless of your choices or collectibles. That is so odd. Also, I am surprised that the definitive edition didn't award you at least 4 platinum's by the time you finished it considering I thought it would have been four separate games plus the Michonne game. Popular Post postofficebuddy
Platinum #156 Arcana Heart 3 Love Max Difficulty: 6/10 (skill dependent) Fun: 5/10 Nowhere near as difficult as the original AH3 which IIRC I rated an 8.5. Although this one still has some pretty challenging requirements like beat the super boss Parace L’sia who makes SNK bosses like God Rugal look like a pansy ass choir boy. The story mode and memory mode grind at the end pretty much sucked all the fun out of the game. Additionally the online is totally dead so if you want to go for this one your only option is to boost.

I’ve been putting it off for so long because the online trophies seemed really daunting for someone who typically doesn’t play any of the multiplayer modes. However, they weren’t actually as bad as I originally thought (though the grind to level 100 was real). In terms of single player, I love the story and I’ve played this through about 3 times anyway so I had no problems playing through and getting the golds. However, doing all the extras this time around (stunt jumps, under the bridge, tennis etc) kind of ruined the fun a little. Overall I really enjoyed the game and I’m glad that I finally have the platinum, but the grind for this one is real. I can see why it’s such a rare one ?

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#359 - Puppeteer Best Actor Unlock all trophies. I believe this now holds the record for my longest plat time, sitting at a solid 7 years and 1 week. ? It feels good to finally have it done after all this time. As for the game itself, I felt like I appreciated it way more when I returned to it than I did back in the day. I guess because I've experienced a lot more games since then which made me realise just how unique Puppeteer actually is. There's nothing quite like it. First thing that strikes me about this game is how absolutely gorgeous it is, even by today's standards. Just has that timeless look thanks to its style. Such a cool concept for a game too in how it all takes place on a theater stage. Other games have done this, but none this well. Some excellent writing and voice acting really help sell this aspect of the game. It just oozes charm. To top it all off, the gameplay is fun too! Most of the plat consists of finding all of the collectibles, a lot of which happen to be heads you can wear, and then using those head actions at specific points in the levels. Replaying the levels over and over can get a little tedious, but it was interesting to see the different things that happened when you triggered the events. There are also some no damage trophies thrown in here, which as the name implies, require you to go through sections of some levels without getting hit. Some of these took a few tries but it was nothing overly difficult. Pretty chill plat for the most part. RIP Japan Studio. You will be missed.
Popular Post eigen-space
Platinum #138 - Time and Eternity 9.20% Rarity Difficulty - 3/10, Time Spent - ~40 Hours , Enjoyment 6/10 Time and Eternity has you playing as Toki and Towa, two different souls in one body who have the ability to time travel. Toki and Towa's wedding day gets interrupted by assassians who end up mortally wounding Zach, the groom. They use their time travel skills to go back in time to be able to stop the attack on their wedding, but they also pull Zach's soul along with them and his soul ends up in the body of their pet dragon, Drake. This game definitely had a unique story, I'll give it that. The time traveling didn't feel gimmicky and the wedding plot was rather inventive; I know I've played games with weddings in them before, but not games with them centered around a wedding. I also think the closest thing to the two-souls-one-body idea that I've played are the "dream" sequences from Final Fantasy VIII. In any case, this game definitely does not lend itself to many of the JRPG tropes that I've seen before, except for the idea of having a pervy male character and a bit of fan service on the main girls. The battle is unique because it's basically a one-person party. Toki and Towa switch off as being the fighter when you level up, so you're only ever using one of them at a time. Drake/Zach is also present but he's more of a support player than anything. Once Toki/Towa learn certain skills, they can give Drake commands to do things like buff them or use certain elemental attacks to put status effects on the enemy (the game is SUPER broken once you figure this out). You also gain Time Skills throughout the game that allow you to rewind time, speed up time for just the player character, or stop time. These prove to be very beneficial if you use them strategically in boss fights. As far as trophies go, this list was only slightly annoying. They have a trophy for getting all treasure chests, but those are marked on the map so they're hard to miss. There are four trophies for completing all side quests in each chapter; these can be tedious and slightly annoying (and some of the NPCs were just annoying AF to listen to). There are also several grindy trophies, like leveling to level 70; you only naturally get to about level 55-60 in the game, and experience in this game is just weird... like, it doesn't scale with the enemies you're fighting... you get 100exp from a level 10 enemy and also get 100exp from a level 50 enemy... it's pretty dumb. Other grindy trophies come pretty naturally, like filling out the skill tree or getting each girl's love stat to 200. The most annoying trophy, though, would have to be for meals, which is heavily RNG-based, though you can simply save and reload your game if you don't get the meal you want. There's also several battle-related trophies which are all pretty natural to do. I think the really interesting thing about this game was the art style. They used 2D anime-like characters throughout the whole game. It was really unique, and I don't think I've seen that before; closest thing to it would maybe be how certain games use 2D images of the characters next to their text box when they're talking, but those are used the entire game. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen something like this in another game before. However, they could have taken better advantage of this if they made more enemies instead of just palette-swapping the same 10-15 enemies throughout the game. Final verdict is that this is a decent enough game to try out. You will probably feel a little bored because it does get repetitive at times, but it's still good enough to play for the story and not a horrendous platinum.

Popular Post Zircon_Lotus
Platinum #109 Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order A long time had passed between the launch of Fallen Order and the last Jedi Star Wars game, being it Force Unleashed 2. I am not the biggest fan of the franchise: I watched the original hexalogy and other things, but what I always liked are the games. I mean: brandishing a lightsaber, using the force and battling the Empire, it is hard to get more badass than this. The combat in this game is really good. It has a souls approach, and reminded me of Sekiro. Parrying is the most effective way to deal with any, if not all enemies. It is also fast paced, and many times you will have to fight groups of enemies. One thing that I did not like is that very often we have to deal with ranged enemies, but we have no way to attack them directly. Early on this is not a problem because the base Stormtrooper is weak, but it start to get troublesome on later parts. The way they tied the use of force with mandatory combat, and made it impactful, but not overpowered like on Force Unleashed was very clever. The difficulty of this game was something that I heard a lot before playing. You have 4 difficulties, ranging from easy to very hard (they have other names). I started the game on the 2nd, since there are no difficulty related trophies. You start with only two stims (a healing item), and as I had not mastered the combat, the game offered a moderate challenge. When I got a few more stims and a damage upgrade, the game started to get too easy, so I increased the difficulty. Jedi Master (I think) offered a good amount of challenge. Only damage taken, agressiveness and a low parry window are the changes. I had the impression that higher difficulty didnt increase enemy HP. No matter the difficulty the game is not too chalenging, because you have many meditation points scattered. The one and only hard part is the last boss. I think they made her way too mobile, fast and with too many bullshit to deal with. My first tries were a bit frustrating, but it is always the same in games like this: learn the pattern, win, and wonder why was it so hard before. Graphically the game is very beautiful and offer a variety of landscapes, all planets are unique. The soundtrack seems to be out of a movie. The story is good enough to follow, but nothing special. Sadly the game has serious performance issues. At first I thought it was my old base PS4 acting up, but there are plenty of people online playing in other consoles or on PC complaining about it. Textures taking long to load, fps drop, freezes, falling inside the ground. For the most part, like 80% of the time, the game runs without problem, but on the other it has those issues, specially when you are running too much or there are many enemies on screen. The platinum is pretty straightforward. Complete the game, find all collectibles and do some miscellaneous trophies. The collectibles are not that hard to find once you have all habilities and upgrades, but some are very well hidden and you will need a guide. The miscellaneous trophies are all very simple and fast to get. The game and the platinum itself are not long. The map could be easier to navigate, and they should have added a fast travel option. It is very tiresome to run to the end of the planet, just to go back all the way to the Mantis. And one thing to note: if you experience the aforementioned performance issues, sometimes trophies will take longer to pop, and will do so without image. But aside from one of Cordova's notes, I did not encounter any glitch, and all trophies unlocked just fine. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the most modern Jedi Star Wars game. If you're a fan of the franchise or of the genre you will enjoy this game. Sadly the performance issues take a bit of it charm and shine, but nevertheless I had a good experience with this game, and hope that a sequel will be announced soon.
