Popular Post Sylvanticore
Resident Evil Villiage (PS5) #34: Ethan Winters Obtain all Trophies. I said everything I needed to say about this game in my last post which was the PS4 platinum, using some save tricks I got all my difficulty playthroughs done on PS4 and uploaded the save to PS5 as well as my mercenaries because screw doing THAT for a second time! Loved this game so much and am now kind of sad it's all over, next up is Terminator Resistance on PS5

Its one of those instances where I tell myself "I'm just gonna play for fun, because I don't want to go through any headaches" and then BAM, there it is. Other than that, not much to say that I didn't say after my PS4 run.
Popular Post MissShake
#61: Mass Effect N7 Elite ME1: Acquire all trophies Once upon a time, a teenage Shake found herself in front of her Xbox 360, completely and totally in love with Mass Effect. No matter how hard she tried, she just could not tear herself away from this game. It was like nothing like she had ever played before, and she was addicted beyond measure. Fast forward to this year and here I am, unable to tear myself away from this series again. I didn't think I would have the plat as quickly as I did, I was just that addicted! Playing ME1 was like visiting an old friend, but it also made me feel like a kid again. Back when games were still super exciting to me, back when things just felt... New. This port isn't perfect (I got stuck in the floor for no reason and had to reload a save a couple times) but if you've never experienced Mass Effect... Pick up this port. Maybe if you do, they'll bring my love Dragon Age Origins to the PS4
Popular Post sephiroth4424
#228 Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince What a Nightmare! Enjoyment: 7/10 Difficulty: 2/10 A bit disappointed. While the game returned to its roots, the combat system was trash. It's just a puzzle/collectible game. Trine 2 is still the best of the series, followed by T1 #229 Wasteland 2 (EU) King of the Wasteland Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 3/10 I enjoyed this one a lot the first time, so i've stacked the EU version.I'll definitely check Wasteland 3 in the future #230 Tokyo Xanadu eX+ (ps4) The Legend of the X.R.C. Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 4/10 I liked this one a lot. It's like a hybrid Persona-Ys game. I'll do the vita version as well #231 GreedFall Enjoyment: 6/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Interesting start but then it took a high dive. Very repetitive quests and boring/broken combat system. No wonder it was offered by psnow and psplus so quickly after release. I'm amazed it got a ps5 upgrade #232 Vampyr This is on my side Enjoyment: 7.5/10 Difficulty: 3/10 Another ''offer'' by ps+. Interesting story but zero replay value. With the amount of missables trophies it has, i suggest using a collectible guide from the start

Popular Post Cal
Mass Effect Legendary Edition Platinum 51 Felt like a teenager playing this again, BioWare have done a good job with the PS4 port of the first Mass Effect everything looks much crisper and runs much smoothly. I didn't actually check the trophy list till after I finished my first playthrough and I was surprised that I only had like 4 more trophies to get it's much easier then the PS3 version which asks you to kill a certain amount of enemies with a certain weapon type which was pretty tedious and grindy. But now all the game asks you to do is use certain abilities 25 times, complete 5 missions with a certain squamate and story trophies you unlock by just playing the game, real easy and simple you can basically get the plat in one playthrough.
Popular Post Carol
#214 Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS4) Big Adventurer Even Scarlet didn't get all the trophies, you're truly a Knitted Knight of legend. I was interested in this game since it was announced, because it seemed so fun and it didn't disappoint. It's indeed a very enjoyable and colourful game and a great way to say "Hi!" to the PS5 and "Goodbye!" to the PS4. Playing with other people can get a bit chaotic, especially because there are a lot of kids playing this game and we all know that kids, in general, aren't very serious partners, especially when you're trying to go for collectibles or other side.objectives, such as not dying. Therefore, I enjoyed this adventure more playing solo and I used a second controller for the last two trophies that I needed. The platinum is a bit annoying, particularly due to the grind to get 300 cosmetic items and the infamous trophy "String it Together". Fortunately, there was a very kind player who created a boosting session here on PSNP offering his help. Usually, I don't like bothering people, but since there was someone offering their help, why not accept this offer? So I contacted him, he helped me and I didn't have to suffer to get this brutal trophy. So, once again, thank you so much, @CookiestMonsterr, for your help.

Popular Post rjkclarke
Platinum #321 Vampyr (PS4) Time is on my side Earn all trophies This is going to be a tough one to write about. My opinions on this game have fluctuated up and down more than a seesaw at this point. I think I like it, I just have such a problem with so many elements of it that this might end up coming off a little more negative than I want it to. I feel like you need a lot of patience to get much enjoyment out of this game. I don't think I've ever experienced a game perform so terribly on a PS4 and I've played quite a few PS4 titles at this point. To put it into perspective, I did a full playthrough yesterday of the entire game for the no kills trophy and it crashed at least twenty times. I honestly lost count of how many times. I'm not sure I've experienced crashes like that since all the way back on the PS3 when Skyrim had that weird bug for a while where every time you touched water, in whatever form the game just decided to freeze. Its pretty tough to ignore glaring issues like that unfortunately. People often dig out games by Spiders. (the studio not the creature! Haha) I don't think I experienced close to half of the amount of crashes playing through The Technomancer and Bound by Flame, despite the fact they are often maligned - maybe unfairly, as the inferior games. Back to Vampyr though. There is a whole lot to like here, so lets be more positive. From a visual standpoint I think it was done in a fairly interesting way. The characters for the most part are all really well designed. The protagonist Jonathan is particularly well designed. I had to double take a few times that I wasn't looking at Christopher Lee. I would imagine, it must have been a deliberate choice to have Jonathan look slightly like a modernised twenty first century take on Hammer Films Dracula. Jonathan is just the tip of the iceberg in this regard though, almost all of the characters look very unique (they don't sound unique, but we'll get there). This was one of the area's that really did keep me invested in the game, because its easy in games of this nature to just have a lot of bland characters that you can barely tell one from another. For the most part, I think they are very well designed for the time period that they are supposed to be from, with the occasional bit of modern flourish. Unfortunately, it isn't all visually perfect though. Judging a video game on how it uses the "camera" in cutscenes might seem like a harsh thing to do, but they are presenting a narrative in a similar way to how a film would, so I think its alright to talk about it. The best word I can think of to describe this games cutscenes is simply just, bland - surprising, because DONTNOD did such a good job with that not being the case in Life is Strange. The cutscenes in this are pretty much all static shots. Just a fixed view of one persons face. Which is pretty unforgivable really, in a game that is almost sold on its dialogue and story, I found myself getting bored looking at the side of a characters face as they are giving an exposition dump. This aspect of it just felt so unnatural to me. One of the elements I can't find a whole lot of fault with is the games OST and Sound Design. The soundtrack itself is very well crafted. The theme that plays when you are in Elisabeth's house is incredibly chilling. Its just incredibly well realised. Very atmospheric, really evokes the gothic horror vibe to a tee. Those moments where you are doing an evil thing, put it this way, it definitely makes you feel the consequences of your actions, through the music and dialogue. The voice acting is all round very good too, you do get a few very similar sounding characters where voice actors are re-used, but that's almost a given with a lower budget RPG right? Anthony Howell I think does a really good job with the voice of Jonathan, I don't think it was probably the easiest task for him either, because I honestly thought Jonathan was quite a bland protagonist, but that wasn't down to his voice work, just a lack of decent character development. If I was going to give out an MVP award for voice acting in this game it has to go to Katherine Kingsley as Elisabeth Ashbury. I honestly can't overstate enough how good she is. It might not seem like much on the surface, but she just played that character with so much depth. There is an absolutely ageless quality to her voice, the almost weariness in her voice, reflecting several lifetimes full of hardships and loss was just so, so brilliant. In a way she reminded me of my favourite character from Skyrim, Karliah - another character where I think, the voice acting alone really elevates the character. I'm not going to specifically talk about the story, because this game is very narrative focused so it would be unfair to delve too much into that without huge spoilers, so I won't. I'll mention a few vague things here though. I remember when I first started playing this I sent a message to one of my friends saying give DONTNOD the keys to Legacy of Kain please. I've since taken that statement back, because whilst the world and the lore is quite interesting it does devolve a little bit into silliness, but not quite in the self aware way it maybe should have. Which is fine, but I feel like there were a few moments they could have set aside for some light heartedness. There is way too much of a focus on the power levels of vampires for my tastes. Almost felt like I was playing Dragon Ball Z with vampires in places. Elements of the story are very good though, I'd say it is definitely the games best feature that doesn't directly relate to the sound. Gameplay wise, Vampyr, is not anything particularly new. The combat is very clearly inspired by Souls-esque titles, I think Bloodborne specifically. I don't think I disliked the combat particularly, but there were points where the enemies health just gets ridiculously high, that I just didn't have fun with long protracted fights where you could basically die in a few hits for the HUGE amount of XP and by huge I mean 10, yes just 10 haha. The dialogue and character hint system is one of the area's where the game absolutely shines. Its absolutely fascinating delving into these characters lives. Its amazing how much the hint system can change your opinion on certain characters. Its one of those area's where if you were doing a playthrough taking trophies completely out of the equation, there are a few people you definitely would think about chomping into, just because they seem like a danger to society. I do unfortunately have to mention what doesn't work though. As I said, in the opening paragraph - I don't think I've ever experienced a game run as poorly as this on a PS4. I'm fairly sure its had a substantial amount of patches too, so really its unforgivable. It really lets down what could have been an incredibly good game. I feel bad for those that paid a lot of money for this game, only to have it constantly freeze on them, or get ridiculous slowdown at regular intervals. However, it is one of those games where going for the trophies probably does enhance the experience. The fact that you have to collect every weapon, was an interesting one for me. It meant that I got to experiment a bit more with weapons that I hadn't used yet. There's a lot of variety to the weapons too, so it does add quite a lot. A lot of the trophies come from story progression, so you only really need to keep an eye on collectibles, you'll pick most of the other trophies along the way depending on how you decide to play. I'm fairly sure you can do this game in one playthrough, via using backup saves. So that might be a good option for anyone that starts playing this, then decides they don't want to play it any more than they have to. I personally did it in two, well two and a bit. That's the weird thing, its a very playable game, just incredibly frustrating when you are having a good time until it starts crashing - when that happens it makes you want to set the game on fire and throw it out of the window screaming. Well maybe not that, but close. The actual task of attaining the platinum itself is pretty simple though, which is always welcome. I'm not sure that I recommend this one, if its in your backlog and you got it free with PS+ like it was for me, then maybe I would. I'll be honest though, I'm not sure I could actually justify paying much money for this, because I would honestly have felt cheated. Perhaps the game runs better on a PS4PRO/PS5, I don't know. If it does, those might alleviate some of the things that let this one down. So it might be worth it in that case. I'm glad I've written this though, because I still feel fairly positive coming out the other side of Vampyr, I didn't expect to - because that last playthrough did sour the experience, but there was a whole lot to like there. I think I'd play a sequel if there was one. Edited May 23, 2021 by rjkclarke
Popular Post madbuk
#418 - 2064: Read Only Memories PS+ gave me this game a long, long time ago (October 2018) but I never really bothered looking into it, must've been busy with other games at the time. Recently though I had seen quite a few people praise it, and I wanted an excuse to stop playing Tales of Zestiria, so I decided to download it and try it out. It... ended up being rather lackluster tbh, especially compared to all the hype people had been giving it. It's not a bad game by any stretch, has some interesting characters, the art is good, the music is excellent, and the plot could be engaging when it's not beating you over the head with entire conversations about operating systems or AI or other electronic-based systems. Those conversations got repetitive and tiring and unfortunately that's almost the entire game, and the main plot gets lost in it a bit and by the end I just didn't really care anymore. It didn't help that I had my save data corrupted at the end of chapter 5 (there are 6 chapters) so I had to redo the entirety of the game. And then you have to do another playthrough on top of that, which had some fun conversational changes (because you're rude to everyone in that run), but the main plot was basically the same overall so it wasn't particularly interesting. I do wonder whether my thoughts would be a little more positive if the save corruption hadn't necessitated an entire extra playthrough pretty much, but... I doubt they would be, honestly. If this game interests you it's worth at least trying it, because it's not outright bad, but I'd recommend going in with lower expectations than I had.
Popular Post Masamune
How I Spent My Summer Vacation Obtained all trophies. Difficulty: 3.5/10 Enjoyment: 7.5/10 Playtime: 32:43:06 (1 month, 2 weeks, 17 hours) Screenshot (yes, I saved that particular trophy for last just so my plat would pop there ): Yeah, I took waaay too long to finish this... once I finished the main story I started the character stories, but I started getting a little burnt out half way through... so I decided to take a bit of a break from it. ? That was a mistake though, because around that time version 1.5 came out for Genshin, & that renewed my addiction for that game & I pretty much didn't touch anything else for a few weeks. ? From what I remember, gameplay was pretty much the same as Shinovi Versus, just as easy too. The story did have some emotional parts to it this time, overall it was pretty good though. Trophy-wise they're all fairly easy, only one worth mentioning is the OCD one. You have to basically unlock & buy every item/collectable in the shop, after completing all the story stuff though, I was only missing a handful of things & only had to farm a small amount of money to buy everything. These aren't the most exiting games around, but they're fun enough. Considering games of this... "genre" are basically banned on PS now too, they should all be treasured (I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sony tries to delist them in the future). ?
Popular Post Cave Johnson
I haven’t done one of these posts in a long time, so I might as well cover everything. [Trophy images/descriptions are in spoiler boxes to save space.] DJMAX Respect Spoiler RESPECT You Collected all DJMAX RESPECT Trophies. I tried the demo back whenever the hell that was on a whim, and ended up buying the game. Without some of the DLC, I don’t think I would’ve got the platinum. For those who are unfamiliar with DJMax Respect, the rarest trophy (besides the platinum, obviously) requires 50 missions to be completed. Most DLC packs add more missions, which increases the amount of easier missions, thus making the platinum easier. I don't have the patience to put up with the bullshit gimmicks in some of the missions, and others are way beyond my skill level. Trophies aside, DJMax Respect is probably one of the best console rhythm games currently; I’m sure I’ll be playing it off and on for a long time. 咲-Saki-全国編Plus [Saki: Zenkoku-hen Plus] Spoiler 麻雀って楽しいよね 全てのトロフィーを獲得した "Girls with Magical Abilities playing Mahjong and lots of panty-shots that can't be called panty-shots because THERE ARE NO PANTIES." - Description of Saki (manga) from Dynasty Scans Before watching Saki I knew absolutely nothing about mahjong. It was surprisingly interesting despite not knowing what the hell was going on in the first season. At some point after that I started learning how to play mahjong, which of course led me to getting this game. While going for the platinum I was still very new to mahjong, but even then this is not a difficult trophy list. The legendary quote, 「麻雀って楽しいよね」is now part of my profile as my 6000th trophy. Demon's Souls Spoiler Slayer of Trophies All Trophies Obtained Initially, I wasn’t planning on getting Demon’s Souls (PS5) at launch, but things changed and I ended up borrowing my sister’s PS5. This is my fourth time getting the platinum for Demon’s Souls. In case that doesn’t make it obvious, Demon’s Souls is one of my favorite games. Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout Spoiler Atelier Ryza Earn all trophies. For me, something seemed to be missing in Atelier Ryza; it’s hard to explain. There are many positive aspects to it, and yet, I couldn’t quite get into it. One thing I can say for sure is that I don’t like the combat system. I like that Gust is always trying to change things up, but sometimes the end result isn’t the best. At least the alchemy is good this time around (as it usually is). Persona 5 Strikers Spoiler True Phantom Thief Earned all trophies. Whether it is considered a sequel or a spin-off I’m not really sure. Regardless, Persona 5 Strikers is a decent spin-off. Were it supposed to be a sequel, then it’s not a worthy follow up to Persona 5 (especially not Royal). Without spoiling anything, some aspects of the plot become really stupid at the end. More specifically, I’m talking about certain antagonists and their motivations. Also, a certain backstory is incredibly idiotic and impossible to believe. The combat is alright I suppose, though forcing elements of persona into musou could’ve gone better. I would’ve preferred it if the combat were more like a standard musou game. This disappointment is actually what led me to get Warriors Orochi 4 (more on that later). On a more positive note, Sophia and Zenkichi are fantastic additions to the cast. Sophia is adorable and Zenkichi (partially due to Miki Shinichirou) is just awesome. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III Spoiler A Flash of Light Mastered Trails of Cold Steel III and earned every trophy. When I played the Japanese version I could understand maybe 10% of the text. I read plot summaries and character pages on the wiki to better understand what was going on, but that’s not quite the same as actually experiencing the story through the game. Because of that I figured I might as well play the localized version now that it had been a while. NISA doesn’t have the best track record, but at least no ””contracts”” stopped them from including the original voice acting this time. Bitter comments aside, I still love this series despite Sen IV not being all that great (to say the least). Without spoiling anything there is a certain plot device that I hate; that’s all I will say about it. Warriors Orochi 4 Spoiler True Warrior Obtained all of the "WARRIORS OROCHI 4" trophies. Unsatisfied with Persona 5 Strikers not being a proper musou game, I sought out one to play shortly after. Naturally, I chose a spin-off where I didn’t know 98% of the characters. Many of the seiyuu were recognizable to me, so that’s how I formed my teams most of the game (lol). I seem to really enjoy musou games, yet never play them for some reason. I’m hoping to change that starting here. At some point soon I’ll go back and finish the DLC. Edited May 23, 2021 by Ariadne

Popular Post Janire1911
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Borderland Defender Round 1.5 Well this was a surprise, I played this game about three years ago and got half the trophies but hadn't planned on platinuming it. I've however been in quarantine for the past two weeks so I've had a lot of time to kill and decided to return to this game. At first I thought I'd just knock out a few trophies but after a while I realized I could just as well go for the platinum. I would've saved a lot of time and effort if I'd planned this properly and if I'd had a co-op partner instead of doing everything solo with two controllers but I got it in the end ☺️. Now I just have to get one DLC trophy for 100%.
Popular Post Gommes_
#129 Ghost Of Tsushima Living Legend First thing I want to mention is that this game is just mediocre at best. This is because GoT fails many things other games already did better or where others had an unique selling point. The story starts off strong but gets boring rather quickly. The ending was quite good but didn’t save the way towards it. The characters are bland and besides Yuna no one really sticks out. I am not even mentioning the forgettable side missions and their “stories”. The fighting mechanics are good in theory but often they are just frustrating due to the camera and the lack of a lock on function. The whole system falls apart when the game goes fully into Dynasty Warrior mode where countless enemies and hits come from multiple directions. Then the aforementioned camera and lock on issues come into place and make the fighting feel unpolished and sloppy. The world itself is beautiful to look at but feels empty and cookie cutter like. Compared to games like RDR2 or Breath of the Wild it lacks the level of detail or awe. And speaking of RDR2, that’s how you direct the death of a beloved animal! GoT tried to do that out of the blue without any real connection but with tacky and over the top sad music to try to convince the player that he/she is experiencing something really sad, while it was far from that. There is no real buildup to it and that the animal gets replaced so quickly and follows the same rules is ridiculous and just bad writing! Shadow of the Colossus did the same thing over a decade ago and made it a memorable moment with only 8 hours of story. GoT failed in that regards after like 20 hours, cause the writers didn’t know how to write relatable relationships. However, the worst aspect of the game is the mission structure. Reading tracks all the time feels so forced and is only topped by the atrocious scouting before some missions. Moving the control sticks to half circles so Jin says something and the game goes on without these things having any kind of impact or importance for the mission is beyond me. And it happens so often! Furthermore, the game forces you to do some missions exactly as the developers want you to do them. Otherwise you fail. Doing stealth missions like that feels unrewarding and cheap. This is a KO-criteria in an open world game, especially when other aspects are not as good. Ghost of Tsushima is great when you don’t do anything (side-)story related and just explore the world or level up your equipment. But even a repetitive game like Far Cry 5 was way more fun to me, cause it didn’t restrict the player that much. Ghost of Tsushima isn’t a good open world game to me and also fails when it comes to telling stories. To be honest, I don’t get the overly positive reviews and this game doesn’t come even close to other PS4 exclusives like Bloodborne or God of War. So, no that wasn’t the last big PS4 title…
Popular Post Sylvanticore
Terminator: Resistance Enhanced #35: No problemo Acquire all the trophies. Another nice and easy platinum under my belt, just like the PS4 version I really did enjoy this though this time round I tried to get the story done as quickly as I could, saved everyone this time and didn't go back in time, again this is a game worth playing... however the final part of the game was ruined for me as the infiltrator mode had a load of sound bugs, going into certain areas would cause my PS5 to lose all sound so where as I would be going through a base with the sounds of guns blazing I just had to listen to silence. Next platinum? I dunno yet.

I remember the first time playing the remastered versions in the PS4 I got really impressed by the deep story and characters. The gameplay is definitely on top all the levels are great and puzzels are not annoying to solve at all. I played the first time on crushing back in the PS4 but in this version you had to play on hard in order to unlock it. Thankfully I was very fast to go through crushing without any issues just som sections took a couple of retries and that's it. Other trophies you can get easily in chapter select and nothing is missable just play it and enjoy it without a guide if it's your first time!
