AJ_Radio
2 hours ago, Neptuos said: Agreed, most games now are sold as a service and not as a product so brace for worst, but still, to me there are cases where season pass are fine, like @gnova mentioned, it’s not greed to charge for content that they put significant resources, and in every case, you can simply choose to not buy it. But with fighting games it's different. Fighting games are mostly niche, they need it's community to survive, they need a healthy player base to have tournaments to generate hype and income, but when those greedy companies charge you extra for a character who was in past releases, they are doing the opposite. And you can also say that it's totally pay to win when it comes to fighting games, because if you want to get better in the game, you can't simply choose to not buy it, because without buying you can't even learn a DLC character moveset in training mode, so how are you gonna beat a Hilde player in ranked matches without paying $7 to get access to the character in training mode? For Soul Calibur 6, the developpers were already talking about DLC characters, pre-order costumes, season pass, pre-order bonus characters and shit like that when the base roster of the game wasn't even known yet, that's how you know you're going into a scam. One of the DLC's in Soul Calibur 6 is the Character Creation Set, there's a bunch of them, each costs around $1.99 and the description reads: "Additional items for use in Character Creation; These items include the following: Brand new items for SOULCALIBUR VI". That is a lie, most of those Creation items, are straight copy&paste from previous entries, and they are behind a dlc paywall. What The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt did for its DLC is how it should be done. But Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, they’re doing it wrong. I fired up Street Fighter V not too ago and I saw Character Passes. Fighters that were in past entries are now being reintroduced as DLC that you have to pay for. So they’re in the same boat as Soul Caliber. We also don’t care about gambling and lootboxes, as games like NBA 2K21 have a system where you can easily spend hundreds and thousands of dollars.
Popular Post DesmaBR
Platinum #136 Ace Attorney Trilogy Get every trophy. Humans are beings of irrational desires. And as a human myself, I too had an irrational desire. I wanted this platinum. These are games that I've played back in my teens, and I really liked them These games were my jam, I remember playing them until late on a DS emulator haha. Heck, I was so happy that the second trilogy was coming to Android devices (Never owned a 3DS to plat AA5 and AA6), that not only I brought and played Dual Destinies and Spirits of Justice on my phone, but I even brought Apollo Justice and played through it, despite not only having played back then too, but it being quite frankly the worst game I've ever played. Apollo Justice is horrible, but considering how I've managed to play through it again despite being a stinky ass game, I though I would be able to replay these games. I was very concerned about replaying these games as these are Visual Novels, the games are basically just text, so if I've already read those texts before, would I really enjoy these games again? But once I've realized that I had replayed fucking Apollo Justice of all games, I thought I would be able to do that. Especially now with Great Ace Attorney coming out next month, I thought it would've been the perfect time to replay these. ... I'll admit, one thing is replaying a single, another is replaying 3 games in a row. It definitely gotten tiring, and I had to force myself to play these at some point. For reasons that I'll get onto soon, I hope. The best way to talk about these games is to talk about each game individually, as they greatly differ in quality. But before I get to that, I wanna talk about the graphics of the remaster. I was made aware that Phoenix only blinks one eye in this state. I was cursed with this knowledge, so I'll inflict upon you all. I believe they just traced over the original game sprites, which is not the worst idea I guess. These were originally GBA games, which has 240x160 resolution, so it's understandable that they had to do something to the sprites. But these new sprites don't look so hot, wish they had put more effort into them, or at least gimme the option for the original ones upscaled. ... Also these games are hella glitchy. I even had to reset my PS5 at certain points because the game would just freeze at certain points and not even quitting the game and restarting from the menu would work. Never played a game where that happened. And with that, my opinions about each game: The First Game: The first game is incredible, I had completely forgotten just how good it really is. What really shocked me was just how simple the game really is, it's really easy to tell what to do and everyone's motivations and situations are very simple actually. Most games like this (Including future AA titles) would end up having very complicated plots, because I'd imagine everyone (myself included) wants their murder mysteries to be complicated, and most modern games like this are complex. I like games like this to be complicated, but this was like, a 2001 GBA game and the first of the series, I can definitely give it a break. Especially when it's simplicity is it's strongest point. It's honestly so, so good to just pile evidence a top of evidence on the culprits without having to think. Future titles would become too complicated, and thus you can't just yeet evidence in the way you can do in this. And this is the only game in the trilogy that has no filler, it truly feels like each chapter had a purpose. And the soundtrack, oh my god the soundtrack. One of the best and most iconic out there. I'm sure every one of you heard it somewhere at some point. Noriyuki Iwadare did the Grandia II soundtrack, obviously he was the best guy for a soundtrack for a game about a lawyer. ... But if I do have to complain, I'd say you present a lot of illegal evidence in this. You just get in places you shouldn't go and steal stuff and then present them in court. I don't they did their legal research very well. At one point a character says "Accidental Murder is still Murder", like no, that Manslaughter. And there's also "Rise from the Ashes", a new chapter that was added for the DS version of the game, that is featured in this collection. I do like the DS version as unlike the second and third game, they did add some extra stuff, like touching up the soundtrack to remove that GBA jank and adding this extra chapter. But I don't like "Rise from the Ashes" I'll admit, I do have a bit of a trauma for this, as they added this "minigame" where you had to use the DS microphone to blow up some dust (Exciting stuff) But since I was playing on an emulator on a PC without a mic, that gave me some real headache. I believe I did eventually manage to do that and complete it, but oof. I don't like using the microphone on any game, I'm sorry. "Rise from the Ashes" adds a lot of stuff that used the DS capabilities. Some are pretty cool, like being able to rotate evidence (Even Resident Evil copied that), but most feels extremely tacked on and forced. And they were not a priority in this remaster, no doubt. They feel like garbage here, they did the bare minimum in this remaster. I have issues with the plot too, but I don't wanna get into spoiler. If it weren't for trophies, I would've skipped it, easily. Justice for All (Second Game): Justice for All stinks, easily the worst of the trilogy. I heard that this game was rushed, and yeah, I can see that. The soundtrack is terrible. Iwadare did not work on this, and boy it shows. I understand that the GBA had garbage sound by default, but the difference in the quality of the soundtrack is staggering. It really is distracting, and a real detriment to the game. And also this game features "Turnabout Big Top", the lowest point in the entire franchise. Personally I still think "Turnabout Senerade" from Apollo is the worst shit I've seen in my entire life, but from an objective standpoint, this is flawed to the core. There is a very, very, VERY obvious plot hole that they never address, and it is baffling that they didn't even talk about it. HOW DID HE EVEN KNEW WHEN TO DROP THE THING!!!?!?!?!?! Also, you're really gonna tell me that a fucking MONKEY STOLE A STATUE AND CLIMBED STAIRS WITH IT!?!!?!? Also, there's 2 grown ass man trying to ask an underage girl into marriage. That's creepy. One of them is not even the guy itself, but his puppet. ew They also made the game a lot more complicated by adding the Psyche-Locks. Cool idea, but it made me a lot easier for me to get completely lost in the game. It really doesn't feel as simple as the original. I do like how you can present character profiles, that's something that was missing in the original. ... But if you have the patience and stick with it, you'll get to the final chapter "A Farewell to the Turnabout" A real reward for sticking around with the game, and a real standout of a trial, definitely one of the series best. Personally I didn't quite enjoy it as much the second time, but this is the one where knowing what happens in the end does detract a bit from it. But I bet it's a treat for those who never played it before, no doubt. There's nothing else in the series that's as anxiety inducing as this. The soundtrack of this being terrible does detract a lot from it, sadly. Trials and Tribulations (Third Game): Noriyuki's Iwadare is back baby, and oh, the soundtrack is so good. Not as iconic as the original, no doubt, but it feels so nice hearing good music after the second game. This, as a game, is a lot better than the second game, but it also feels like it was running out of ideas. I can definitely tell why the creator decided to leave the franchise after this one (At least until Great Ace Attorney) The big standout is "Bridge to the Turnabout", no doubt the very best in the franchise. This is such an incredible end to the series, it really tied it all together in an amazing way, and I was just as shook by it on my second playthrough as the first time I've played it. Almost started crying when I saw that final picture. ... But I wish the game had worked toward it's final chapter more. Chapter 1 and 4 were related to the final 5th chapter, but chapters 2 and 3 had nothing to do with it. "Stolen Turnabout" and "Recipe for Turnabout" are very fun and very creative chapters, yeah. Fuck it, I'm a sucker for the "Impostor acting like another person really badly, but everyone believes them anyway", that's the funniest shit for me, it never gets old. But they weirdly feel "too creative", like it really feels like they ran out of ideas, and it's kinda sad in a way. I just wish they had reworked these chapters to connect better with the final chapter. There's a real good callback to the third chapter on the final one that really made me wish the game put more effort into tidying it all together. As fun as those are, they sadly feel like filler. It sadly stops this stellar game from being more than that. Final Opinions: Really glad I played through these again, it really made me respect these games a lot more. Popular Post The Arizona Ranger
Platinum #9: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5) Masters of the Multiverse (40.34%) First Trophy: Rift Apart (Bronze) - June 12th, 2021 (12:34:22 AM) Last Trophy (which popped the Platinum): Return Policy (Bronze) - June 17th, 2021 (1:37:09 AM) Gap (First to Last Trophy): 5 Days, 1 Hour, 2 Minutes Game Review Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - 8.25/10 Although not as long as I was hoping that it would be (it only took me around 13 hours to beat the game, another two and a half-ish hours to pick up the trophies that I missed out on to pop the Platinum during my second playthrough of the game on Challenge Mode), Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a fantastic game that was a ton of fun to play, the visuals/graphics are excellent (the game looked absolutely stunning on my 2020 Samsung Q80T QLED 4K UHD TV), and I had a great time getting to explore around the in-game galaxy as both Ratchet and Rivet as they face down the legions of enemies under the control of a familiar foe (and his other-dimensional self). Platinum Difficulty: 2/10 For the most part, getting the platinum for this game was quite easy. Outside of a few trophies that took a bit more effort into doing (finding all of the CraiggerBears scattered around the game, locating all of the hidden Spy Bots in the game to unlock something), getting all of the other trophies for this game was pretty elementary (got 42 of the 47 trophies for the game in one playthrough). The one trophy I wasted the most time on was Return Policy... Spoiler ...where you need to capture the ranged attacks from various enemies using the Void Reactor weapon and fire the shots back at them to kill them. Do this 10 times and you got yourself a trophy, bud! ...but once I figured out to perform what was required to pop the trophy without screwing it up, I managed to get it quite easily (using the unfortunate Goons-4-Less thugs on Blizar Prime) and thus popped the Platinum trophy for the game by doing so. Was It Fun?: Yes From the very first part of the game all the way up to the final fight, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is quite the fun game to experience on the Playstation 5. The assortment of weapons you get to use is great, the interactions between the characters is enjoyable (for the most part), the cool stuff (extras) you unlock via finding the Gold Bolts hidden away on each level, and getting to experience the entire story from both Ratchet's and Rivet's perspective was interesting to watch unfold the more you played the game. Would You Recommend It to Others?: Yes (see below): If you are a fan of past Ratchet & Clank games, love games that feature absolutely beautiful graphics, are fortunate enough to be in possession of a PS5 (which are still hard to find, largely due to those idiot scalpers on eBay snatching up most of the consoles that have been pushed out by Sony), or enjoy playing games that take less than 17 hours to get the Platinum trophy in, then I highly recommend that you play this game. If you are not a fan of previous Ratchet & Clank games, are looking for a longer game (one that takes more than 40+ hours to beat/achieve the Platinum in), are looking for a game where getting all of the trophies is quite the hard/time-consuming chore, or don't care for games that look like playable Pixar movies, then I can't recommend this game to you. Will You 100% The Game?: Already did, chief (and had a great time doing so). ? Next Game to Platinum: The Order: 1886 (PS4) I just need to mop up the five trophies I failed to get during my last playthrough of the game (finding all of the inspect-able items, collect all of the phonographs cylinders) in order to make The Order: 1886 my 10th game to achieve the platinum trophy in. This is my first DQ and besides stacking it with the Definitive edition, i will search for previous games of the series as well. There is no need of ''westernised'' JRPGs when you have a perfect recipe, i wish Squenix followed the same formula with FFs. Excellent story, 100h content (just for the plat). It's only flaw was the OST that didn't have variety. My party for Act 1 was the MC plus the three girls, Act 2 i replaced one girl with the new addition and post game i returned to the winning team

Popular Post HazyDie
#6 Control (PS5) Director of the FBC Creepy and horror as hell, but in the end it's all fine. And the graphics are just nice. It has been some time since my last post and it's all on me: I'm too lazy to make a post in this thread. However, I won't start a new game when I haven't posted my latest platinum here. So here we go! My thoughts (may contain spoilers) … Spoiler Gameplay I've had a rough start, because the starter gun (Grip) isn't really powerful and the left analog stick of my controller was glitched so that Jesse couldn't run for more than 3 seconds. Actually, the beginning of the game wasn't too difficult, but I failed miserably fighting off Mr. Tomassi during mission 2. Every time, either Tomassi or the other enemies in the mail room would constantly attack me so that I didn't have a chance to strike back without getting hit severely. And as far as I remember I didn't have shield ability yet. So I did the pro gamer move of turning on one-hit kill in assist mode for Tomassi. While continuing the story my favorite pair of weapon forms became Shatter and Pierce. I built Pierce as my highest damage weapon and I liked it very much, because of the high damage per shot and Shatter worked perfectly when enemies got close to me. Pierce only delivers 2 shots before it needs recharging, so in the mean time I had the opportunity to deal more damage using abilities. Story The setting and enemies might feel a bit strange, creepy and horror at first but I ended up liking all of it. It took me until I finished the last main story mission to fully appreciate the game. This is, because the game does a great job of making you feel lonely. It's not that Jesse is the only friendly person in the building, but you have to do most fights alone and only at few places you can call in a ranger, but in my playthrough he was only helpful when I had to defeat Helen Marshall and he did a very good job of attracting enemies so I could seize them. I like Ahti most, because every time he appeared I got my faith back and the loneliness was gone. Just a great character! It's also neat traversing the Oceanview Motel in different ways. What I absolutely hated about the story was the nerve-wracking act of cleansing Objects of Power. I know this is what makes the story, but every time there was another anomaly, OoP, AWE or altered item to be visited I knew I was in trouble again and that it wouldn't be easy to finish the job, especially boss fights. To be fair, most bosses weren't difficult once I got the hang of it. As the director of the FBC there was no other option, I guess. Collectibles There are literally hundreds of collectibles in the game. Control wiki says 412. Great job! It's actually very easy to collect 120 collectibles for the Bureau Archivist trophy, because there's no 'collect all collectibles' trophy, other than Subterranean Research DLC trophy. If you just collect every collectible you see, you'll get the Bureau Archivist trophy well before completing the main story. I got it right before completing mission 5. I admit I did't read every page and haven't watched every video but the collectibles really add something to the game that makes it feel special. My favorite collectibles are the maneki-nekos, because they add another strange vibe and in the end you get some lovely cat ears for Jesse. Basically all I ever wanted! Casual Exploring It's not possible to do some casual exploring, even after main and DLC stories, because there are many areas where enemies would spawn. I think this is a shame, because after some point it's just annoying to deal with enemies when you just wanna go somewhere else quickly. You don't have to kill every enemy every time, but you'll constantly think of where and when the next wave of enemies would spawn. This just breaks the experience of exploring without the fear of losing life. Control is not an open world game but an option to turn off enemy spawns after you complete the story or whatever would be very cool. Map At first it seems like a normal map, then you realize it's somehow different. Sometimes, 2 floors are stacked into 1 map page. This is actually a cool idea but when the 2 floors overlap it isn't always exactly clear on what level you are and where the current floor ends. You don't need the map too often thanks to many signs leading your way but did they really have to make the map this strange? Assist Mode Better name: god mode. Only fall damage can kill you if you tick all boxes and set all sliders to 100. It's very tempting to make some tweaks here if you make a slow process, but I wouldn't do it too early, otherwise fun goes with it. And yes, I used it. I only kept enhanced aim assist on all the time, because I thought it's the equivalent of strong aim assist that I know from the first two Watch Dogs games and I don't think it's unfair to use. I only turned on the other options when I didn't think I could progress any further without it. That's the first Tomassi fight, which I already described and the final fight of Hartman, because he would constantly loosen the power cores and I wasn't nearly as fast to reattach them. I have to admit I also used it for expeditions, because in my opinion they are way too difficult, because you have way to little time for these missions. They are not trophy-related, so without assist mode I wouldn't have played them again at all. Graphics & Audio I played my whole playthrough on graphics mode, because I love the ray-tracing method. At some points, I switched between both modes to get an idea of what the benefits of this ray-tracing are. I believe it only adds reflections of objects, Jesse, enemies (helpful!) and other NPCs. Perhaps, it also makes the overall lighting just a bit more realistic, but in my opinion the performance mode is also really good. Oftentimes, I didn't see a big (if any) difference when there where no reflections. Even though I should be sick of 30 fps gameplay my desire for ray-tracing was bigger and since this isn't a competitive multiplayer, it should be fine once again. And I really like the audio design. It's dynamic and you know if enemies are ahead, because the audio would adapt to it and play some pre-fight effects. The audio effects are bass-heavy and I like it. When you seize an enemy you'll get a good bass in the beginning of the process. Photo Mode I love photo modes! I think I took some great pictures and it seems that the level of detail is good enough so that there aren't any low-detailed textures, unless you set focus distance to maximum (80.0m), aperture to widest open (f/0.5) and look at closer subjects (e.g. Jesse), then it looks terrible. The other downside is that the aperture only has 6 blades, so bokeh balls are not round. I absolutely love bokeh balls and I honestly think it's a shame. If they only added an option to increase the number of blades … Next up is PS4 version of Control. Yes, I'm gonna commit my first version stack and collect this trophy list twice. It should be easy, because of god (I mean assist) mode. To be fair, I didn't use the op options like one-hit kill too often during my first playthrough with PS5 version, so I hope you won't slaughter me because of this. At least, I won't do region stacking.
Popular Post Red-Izanagi
Platinum #274 and 100% Mirror's Edge Difficulty: 9/10 ( Only because of the dozens of Time Trials and Speedrun Trophies ) Time: Don't know exactly ;< First of all, this Game was quite a Journey and i found it really good. The first hardest thing of that game were mainly those Speedruns on the different Chapter, since you have to know the best way for all of them. The Time Trials were also a challenge, if you going for the Platinum only, it will be doable to do it. If you want to get the dlcs done, puuh, here starts the Real Deal. The Time Trials consist of small portion of the main game that you had to complete in a specific amount of time and hitting the different Checkpoints for that. There are 33 Time Trials and for the Superstar Trophy you have to get 90 Stars, meaning getting 3 Stars on almost all of them. The Keyword for this is literally perfection. Glad i'm done with it and really proud of it, too. Time to start something different. Edited June 20, 2021 by xTrap-ViisiioNz
Popular Post JoaLoft
#261 - Bugsnax PlayStation owners: we finally have a Pokémon Snap-esque game in our libraries! That's essentially what Bugsnax is: you take pictures of strange creatures and then ensnare them. But there's an actual story to this adventure: you play as a nameless Grumpus journalist (Grumpus, being the creature species you play as) who goes out to Snaktooth Island in search of the missing explorer, Lizbert Megafig, who invited you to document the strange fauna and flora on the mysterious island. As you catch Bugsnax, meet more Grumpuses on the island and interview them, you'll unlock more regions and draw closer to discovering the horrific secret of Snaktooth Island and the fate of Lizbert. Bugsnax looks and sounds like the most innocent and cute game from afar just like Oxenfree, but revealing the true nature of the island yields some disturbing plot twists. If you've been paying attention throughout the game, you can put two and two together and come to the conclusion yourself pretty easily like I have. That didn't take away from my enjoyment though, and I certainly had fun playing the entire game, including the climactic ending. Pokémon Snap was an obvious inspiration for this game, except these creatures are bugs made up of snacks, hence the title. And the plants growing on the island, exist of six condiments: ketchup, chocolate sauce, ranch dressing, cheese sauce, hot sauce and peanut butter. Documenting the Bugsnax you find in all the regions, learning what they love and hate, and then using the condiments and the traps at your disposal, lead to capturing them and progressing the story. It's not a particularly long game, because the eight island regions - excluding Snakburg, the town - are fairly small. One of the neat little mechanics in this game is that, because we're talking about food, all these Bugsnax can be fed to the Grumpuses on the island, which transforms some body part of your choice in that specific snack. One of the trophies even requires you to "snackify" (?) all the Grumpuses, and feeding them loads of Bugsnax. There's no practical consequence involved, but it does show how everyone's Grumpuses will look different, depending on what you fed them and how their body parts morphed. All-in-all: pretty neat game. I'm giving this one a thumbs-up! Most frustrating trophy - ... NONE! Everything in Bugsnax is unmissable - some trophies could be a little bit more grindy or harder depending on how early you start "grinding" - so I have nothing noteworthy to add, except that you'd best start snapping and collecting Bugsnax straight away, because you'll need to collect all 100 individual species for the last golden trophy. If you picked this up with Plus, it certainly would not hurt to give this kooky game a try! Edited June 21, 2021 by JoaLoft
Popular Post madbuk
#423 - The Messenger This was fairly decent. Not my favourite 2D platformer, but I can say I enjoyed it, which is more than I can say about most. The linear first half of the game was definitely my favourite, second half got a bit vague and open-ended for me. It's not a game I can imagine myself stacking, but it's one I don't regret having played. Music is decent, the art style is nice, story isn't great but it's serviceable, gameplay feels good, and the Cloudstep gimmick is pretty interesting even if at times it felt a bit wonky when you had to do a lot in a row while also gliding. Can definitely recommend this in a deep sale or if it ever comes to PS+.
Popular Post jukejointjesibel
#118: Saints Row IV Re-Elected Time: Exactly 40 hours (for the Fourth and Forty trophy) Difficulty: 3/10 Rating: 10/10 Wow, what can I say? This one was stupid, stupid fun. This being my first SR game, I knew it was going to be off the rails and I wasn't wrong. The powers were crazy, but made you rather OP before the end of the game, and by that point you didn't even need some of them. The sections that took place in the 50s, in particular the third mission, had me laugh-crying so bad I had to pause to catch my breath. Now, everyone rides Ubisoft for their collectible padding, but are we forgetting there's over 1000 collectibles here? Over 1000 data clusters alone, and when I upgraded my powers completely I still had ~200 left over. Plus flash points, hot spots, towers, etc. Aside from the story, there's a lot of repetition. Even the activities are repetitive, just the same thing with varying difficulty. The only trophy I had issues with was Experimental Tech, which is known to be quite glitchy. There's a place in the final mission where you can grind weapon kills, however, the trophy tracker for Experimental Tech stopped working after my third weapon. So I loaded up as many weapons as I could, grinded for an hour, and no luck. Post-game I switched my weapons and found out I was missing about five kills with the abduction gun, after I remembered the trophy tracker said I had gotten the 25 kills with it. Overall this is a criminally underrated franchise, and I hope the fifth game is even more over the top.
Popular Post grimydawg___
#139 Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart I had a lot of fun playing this game. If you're lucky enough to play, just play it like the older games by collecting gold bolts and challenge mode. Otherwise, you get the platinum on this game within a workday. I'd recommend this game, despite the trophies.

Popular Post mikeygjr007
Platinums #89 and #90!!! :0 Platinum #89: World War One Hero - Battlefield 1 A nice change of pace from Dragon Quest XI hahah. This game was pretty fun! Having played V a month ago I was excited to jump a little further back and check out this one and I'm glad I did! Easier multiplayer trophies and the campaign challenges weren't bad aside from one or two annoying ones. I liked the World War One setting and thought it was a great addition to the Battlefield series! Platinum #90: Masters of the Universe - Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart Fun Fact: A Crack in Time was my first ever platinum and it is crazy to think that 89 platinum trophies later I would be back with a new Ratchet and Clank game! I loved it! It was probably the closest thing to playing an animated movie. If there was one downside it was that I just wanted more and more! The environments were amazing, the guns were fun and looked beautiful, it really was a great iteration for the Ratchet and Clank series. I won't speak much on the trophy list being on the easier side because I would've platinumed this game no matter what. Very happy to celebrate the road to 100 with this one! What's Next?: Well my roommate started up Farming Simulator so we'll see how that goes. ? And we started The Wolf Among Us last night so that should be a quick plat to add to the books as I close in on 100 platinum trophies!

Popular Post Ghost
Great game all-around. I enjoyed the story, gameplay, and the funny dialogue. Only challenging part was the last boss on Legend difficulty. It took a few attempts to defeat him. Favorite weapons: Nightmare Box (distracts enemies) and the Winterizer (turns enemies into snowmen, plays Christmas music and when fully upgraded, it gave a ton of bolts on the last planet) Since this is a prequel to Rift Apart, it was a great idea to get a run-down on the story and seeing the evolution from a PS3 title to PS5. Popular Post ZitMeatloaf
It's been about 6 months since I last posted in this thread. I won't list all the platinums I've earned since then, just the highlights with blurb-length comments so this doesn't turn into a full dissertation long entry. #71 - Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales "Be Yourself" Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 8.5/10 An excellent follow-up to the 2018 Spider-Man. The combat feels a bit faster and the finishing moves look great. Some of the challenges are tricky, but nothing too hard. #79 - Borderlands 3 "Ultimate Vault Hunter" Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Almost a year in the making, my first attempt at this game was premature. I still had Borderlands burnout from 100%ing BL2, so this game wasn't very enjoyable the first time I tried it. I took a break from the series, gave this one another go and then had fun with it. The most difficult trophy for me was the firing range, had to summon my brother-in-law for help with that one. #82 - Wreckfest "Master of Crashes" Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 7/10 This was a serendipitous PS Plus game for me because I still needed a "W" game for my A-Z platinum goal. It provided some enjoyment and wasn't terribly long, all for the low price of no additional cost. Special thanks to @PsYcHoNxVa for helping me with the multiplayer trophy. #84 - Ghost of Tsushima "Living Legend" Difficulty: 3.5/10 Enjoyment: 9.5/10 I received this game as a gift shortly after its release and don't have a good reason why I waited almost a year to play it. An excellent game. #85 - Yoku's Island Express "Yoku's Island Express" Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Just your typical dung-beetle-as-a-postmaster Metroidvania pinball game, one of the many flooding the market. I bought this on sale to satisfy the letter "Y" for the A-Z collection and it's an underrated gem of a game. If you like pinball games at all, play this one. Some of the tables are tricky but all are achievable with patience and practice. #86 - Zero Strain "Traveller" Difficulty: 3/10 Enjoyment: 6.5/10 I originally planned on playing Zombie Driver for my "Z" game, but after trying that game out for about 30 minutes it was doing nothing for me. So yeah, I bought this game on sale for $4 as an easy plat to satisfy the letter Z. It's simple and can be completed in about an hour. The good news is that it's also an enjoyable top-down shooter with legitimate gameplay, so I don't feel bad about adding it to my collection. And with that, only the letter X stands in my way of having a complete A-Z platinum collection. The end is very much in sight!
