I don't know if this is true or it's because I played Crash 1 beforehand that I flew through this game. Crash 2 and 3 time trials were busy. Constantly holding down R2. Slide jumping, double jumping (that doesn't work half the time), triple spinning. There's just a lot. I like Crash 1 better. Harder stages, but just straight platforming. Popular Post acidkai_ak
#59: Red Dead Redemption Legend of the WestYou've become a true legend of the west! First time playing this game. I'm surprised that this game hasn't got a remaster/remake yet. This is probably the best PS3 game I've played yet. For an open-world game that took place mostly in a desert area (Early 1900's California and Mexico), it looks amazing. I can tell that Rockstar put time and effort on every single detail to make it not bland and recycled. Just riding a horse in this game made me felt calm and appreciate all the nature around me. Then you got these well-written characters. Every character felt likeable, flawed, crazy, or all the above. It's even better when you help out many strangers and have unexpecting endings. The plot is simple to follow and well-paced. When it comes to side missions and minigames, they never felt boring. To top it off, the Undead Nightmare DLC was amazing. The characters are even more whacky this time. Compared to today's DLC, it's honestly a joke. Rockstar needs to do more Story DLCs, not Online DLCs. Despite the game is buggy and freezes from time to time, I didn't felt bored while trying to get this platinum (except MP trophies). Overall, this was an amazing experience and I considered this a must play for everyone. Edited July 17, 2021 by acidkai_ak
Popular Post eigen-space
Platinum #156 - Astro's Playroom 60.32% Rarity Difficulty - 2/10, Time Spent - ~6 Hours, Enjoyment 8/10 Fun game for Sony to show off the new Dual Sense controller. You got to use everything... the touchpad, the adaptive triggers, the microphone, the motionsensing. Pretty great little game. I think my favorite thing to use was the adaptive triggers and can't wait for more games to utilize the technology. As far as the game goes, the trophy list is pretty straightforward... some (very minimal) grindy trophies regarding money, some (very enjoyable) collectibles, trophies for completing stages, and some for completing misc tasks. Very comprehensive trophy list, and nothing is too hard. Oh, except for maybe the speedrun trophy that's part of the DLC, but even that wasn't terrible (I was under the speedrun time by 15 seconds with very minimal retries).
Popular Post AK-1138
Platinum #628: Difficulty: 3.5/10 Playtime: 20-25 hours ...What, me angry? Perish the thought! As ever, I remain the imperturbable and measured exemplar of decorum and ZENNNNNNNNNN, you assumptational little monkey!!! Apropos to nothing, my subject today represents one of the greatest subversions of the dreaded sophomore slump in video game history. In fact, to save us both some time, just go back to my earlier review up there, and strike and reverse nearly every negative point. Whew, well, not much point in my rambling on here, now is there? See ya next time. Bye! ...So, if I can be serious for just a minute here (not much longer, mind; it's me, remember?): yes indeed, a substantial part of this particular game experience is just luxuriating in the end product of a development team dead set on rectifying mistake after mistake, like a particularly satisfying metaphor analogizing a simile. In the words of a certain game designer-cum-serial prevaricator: "It just works." The vast improvement across the board is emblematic of an ethos of objective self-criticism that all too many contemporary developers are wary of enacting; though granted, their reasons vary. Complacency at best... at worst... well, you know. My point is... yes sir, I like it! That being said, in terms of creating a wholly consistently fun experience as smooth as its smooth-as-a-freshly-shaven-yak framerate, they aren't quite there just yet. The beginnings of the series' light RPG elements are just that: beginnings. They rapidly become an afterthought that largely feel tacked on to motivate you to change... up your arsenal, and the options are not all winners, even if the batting average is much higher than OG RC. The logic of EXP allocation is also all over the place, ensuring weapons are rarely, if ever, situated in that sweet spot between natural usage, and grinding. Some other ideas like space combat and mech battles are hit and miss... and I could actually hear my brain cells dying a dog's death whenever I came across another hacking minigame. Only very rarely is this ever a favourite gameplay quirk of mine, and this one brokenly infuriating incorporation of said goes right in the bottom of the barrel for me. That's the closest I ever really got to the thunderous doldrums of OG RC PTSD again. The story, too, is a noted improvement: I still find the delivery somewhat awkward and the comedy rarely lands for me, but hey, just not having our furry robo duo spending half the game stuck in a lazy and hamfisted approximation of the "You have disappointed me and I hate you forever" stage of the third act of an animated movie, really goes a long way... although, the Captain Qw.. err, Captain Obvious twist in this one isn't winning any Pulitzers anytime soon neither. And ya gotta know, Ratchet suddenly sounding for all the world like a certain lovable Meg Ryan-haired Blitzball Boy and/or snarky space samurai wizard from space just... does something to me, ya know? Somewhat of a missed opportunity not to have the Blitz Gun fire actual Blitzballs though, ya? When you got the ball, you gotta score! Just the inference that our inexplicably more congenial furry hero apparently abhors wearing underwear is more characterization than he ever got in the first game... So yeah, I think you get the gist of it from my largely positive and decidedly un-angry tone here. Best thing is I can say is, I couldn't wait to wash my filthy, corrupted hands of the first one when I was done, but here? Boy, I'm stayin' the course past platinum completionage and grinding out the weapons sometime down the line. Starting out your series with Godfather III ain't the most auspicious of beginnings, but as long as you get a Godfather II and I out of it... well... it may well be worth staying the course, no? ...Okay, so my belaboured Godfather metaphor might not be the most apt, as this is hardly a once-in-a-generation masterpiece or anything, but it's a stompin' good time most of the time. It don't quite get me ready to do the Happy Happy Joy Joy Dance (not least because I just plain don't have the hindquarterial circumference for it!)... but boy, this story ain't over yet, and your grandmother may yet learn how to suck eggs... but for now, here endeth... whatever this was.Final Rating: 7.5/10

Popular Post Conor
#106- MASS EFFECT 2 [PS3] N7 Elite Enjoyment: 8/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Time: 3 Months, 1 Week, 5 Days / 85 Hours Rarity: 3.1% Ultra Rare (PSN) / 10.54% Rare (PSNProfiles) Challenge: Insanity- Complete the game on the "Insanity" difficulty level without changing the setting "I was only 'mostly dead'. Try finding that option on government paperwork" BioWare knew they were onto a winner with their new saga and a sequel followed 2007's massive success in 2010 on PC and Xbox 360, with the PS3 version coming a year later. Mass Effect 2 is widely considered to be a superior game to its predecessor and indeed the best entry in the trilogy. While I still agree with this sentiment, replaying this many years later as well as on the Insanity difficulty opened my eyes to a lot of the game's flaws. Now, the flaws I speak of aren't exactly critical or fatal to the game and do very little overall to take away from the brilliance of it. The story is great, with Shepard teaming up with his old enemies Cerberus led by the shady Illusive Man (played by none other than Martin Sheen) to stop a mysterious new threat to humanity and the galaxy as a whole. You meet a mix of old and new characters and form an elite team to take out the Collectors and save the galaxy from certain peril... at least for a while. Old favourites like Garrus and Tali rejoin your team while you get new faces like Jacob, Miranda, Grunt, Jack and, best of all, Mordin. Each character has their own abilities to aid in battle as well as their own individual story arcs that you must complete in order to gin their loyalty, because without their loyalty they could end up toast in the final mission and jeopardise your overall chance of surviving outright. The RPG elements of the previous game have been toned down quite a bit with a lot less fussing over equipment and ability points through levelling up and instead you must advance through cover as you blast through a variety of enemy types both organic and synthetic. This isn't to say that combat and gameplay are any lesser because of it, not at all, though it does ;end a different feel than the previous title. In fact, the game is pretty excellent until you get to Insanity difficulty and dear god if insanity isn't an apt word... Though, to be honest, once you get past Horizon and the Collector ship you've experienced the absolute worst and playing as a Soldier meant I had access to the Tempest machine gun which, combined with Adrenaline Rush, made many encounters more trivial. However, I did find myself having to just dash past enemies on the Derelict Reaper in order to activate new checkpoints because those Scion enemies are the absolute worst, sending shockwaves that can hit you in cover and completely drain your shield in one hit and another instantly killing you. Also, many combat encounters were slowed to an absolute crawl as I had to chip away at my enemies from a distance as their AI pathing shuffled them between the same two points of cover, breaking the odd time to take down the occasional charging enemy. Speaking of AI, your squadmates' AI is the absolute worst- never obeying, standing still in the line of fire and getting killed quickly; I found myself saving my medigel and just finishing off fights by myself for all the good the useless bastards did. So, yes, not a perfect game and one that shows its age a bit now. Still a masterpiece though and my absolute favourite sci-fi shooter of all time. Soon enough I will tackle Mass Effect 3 and that one is fresher in my mind, particularly its own Insanity difficulty.... oh dear...

I've played only AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations and Liberation before, so i thought i'd play an action/stealth game. Although this gameplay is closer to my preferences, i found it very repetitive. Perhaps the story didn't help me since i demand more from RPGs. Anyway, i liked the fact that it was based to Greek history/mythology. Even if it was inaccurate for many occasions. I played as Alexios and getting 100% took 101 hours. I didn't finish everything in the map

Popular Post Viper
#240 Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Masters of the Multiverse Almost every Ratchet & Clank game has been really good...but this one is on a whole different level! PS5 aside, I think Insomniac absolutely outdid themselves here purely on the aspect of this series. Yeah the graphics are gorgeous and the game taking advantage of the DualSense is great...but the game itself is arguably the best of the series, and that includes the originals. It has a great story, an introduction to 2 awesome new characters in Rivet and Kit who I can almost see getting their own spin-off game as early as the next entry in the franchise, and the gameplay while very much R&C, had a lot of high octane action filled moments that really makes you feel like you're playing an animated action film. Everything else is pretty much a given, the gunplay is solid...although I do feel like the adaptive triggers get in the way every now and then, there were just time I got hit because it felt like R2 didn't want to press down all the way, it wasn't a huge deal, just an observation. The graphics are absolutely mind blowing...I played on Performance RT to experience Ray Tracing for the first time while also getting that 60FPS...I hate that we're STILL having to sacrifice something graphically (in this case 4K), but 30FPS in Fidelity mode (4K/30FPS) just doesn't cut it, you really want that smoothness that 60FPS gives you...or if you're lucky enough to have a 120Hz TV/Monitor that would probably be even better as the game does have a 120FPS setting. But aside from probably being the best looking game on PS5 right now, it's probably one of the best looking games ever made...there was a lot me stopping what I was doing to just look around...Insomniac might give Pixar a run for it's money here. I also liked little things like being able to unlock armor pieces you can mix and match and colorize whenever you want. I like that Gold Bots seems to have more function here, they're used as cheats again, but the cheats are things like being able to change your Wrench/Hammer to another weapon, or change the nuts & bolts currency to something else like gems or coins...little things like that, that just add a little flair to the game. If I had to give any negatives...I'd say the game was too short for one. It tells a cohesive story, but I feel like a few more hours with it would have been great. And I'm a little disappointed with the trophy list, it's a little TOO easy...beating Challenge Mode isn't required, there's no trophy for getting an insane amount of bolts, and most of the collectable based ones are just collecting like 5 of something rather than ALL of them, it's one of those bare minimum trophy lists, that probably would have been fine making us to do it all. Plus there's only a few weapon based trophies...all the weapons in this game, they really could have done more there. Overall this was a fantastic experience. It wasn't just some PS5 tech demo...but a must own game for anyone that has this console and, in my opinion, the best of the franchise so far. Insomniac just keeps getting better. Popular Post HazyDie
#7 Control (PS4) Director of the FBC I became Director of the FBC ... again This is my second time playing the game, because I played the PS5 version before and wanted to try version stacking. If you wanna read my thoughts about the game, have a look at my other post: Assist Mode is a good help to do so. Still, it takes quite some time to earn all trophies, because with the DLCs the game isn't really short and some trophies just need time. The stacking was a good experience for me, but it may not really be worth it to replay a full game just to have the list twice on the profile. Makes more sense with really short games that can be completed in a couple of days. Originally, I planned to edit my first post, because I could have added some more thoughts to it. Now that I earned this platinum a week ago, I don't remember how to add more to the post so that it still makes sense. Instead, I'll add it here: Some more thoughts about Control (may contain spoilers) … Spoiler First Of All I never understand everything when playing a story game just once. Replaying it was actually helpful, because I increased my knowledge with some details I missed the first time. During my run through the PS4 version I used Assist Mode but I didn't skip cutscenes, because they are cinematic and really nice to see. It made me appreciate the game even more. Ray Tracing? I don't think the PS4 version has ray tracing but once I was in the Astral Plane I noticed an accurate reflection a golden cube you have to use sometimes. I think it was later in the game when the DLC kicked in. As I threw away the cube I could see a reflection of it moving as well on the shiny stone wall. I thought this was really nice, because at that point all my expectations I had for this version were already destroyed. But other than this I didn't notice more reflections. There are obviously no reflections of Jesse and enemies in windows. What should also be obvious is that you don't need ray tracing to have accurate reflections. Perhaps, ray tracing is more efficient, though. Star Performance You earn this trophy for completing the side mission "Jesse Faden starring in 'Swift Platform". This is one of my favorite missions, because it's one of those rare moments where you are mostly sure that you are not about to face an overpowered boss or just a massive horde of Hiss. Lightens your tension and also gets you a trophy. And it's fun to catch the camera in the end. It's the music that makes the mood. Far better than eerie sounds. Darkness This type of 'enemy' is really cool. I'm talking about the blobs you have to destroy with a spotlight for Ahti. It's satisfying to burn the Darkness, because it can't hurt you. It's just in the way or sometimes hidden and you just eradicate it. Technical Stuff (Rant About PS4 Version) Of course, the PS4 version is inferior to the PS5 version when comparing it side by side. When I played Control on PS5 I used the graphics mode to experience the ray tracing and it looked really good but felt chunky and less fluent, because of the 30 fps. I really wanted that ray tracing. On PS5 you can choose between a 30 fps and a 60 fps mode. For some reason I thought that the PS4 version also has a 60 fps mode. Well, just no. Yeah, so I then realized that I was gonna play Control again with inferior graphics AND inferior frame rate. What a pro gamer move. I noticed that this version looks less sharp, I would even say it's slightly blurry. Nobody should play this version if you can play the 'next'-gen version or have a good PC. Next up is Wreckfest. PS Plus gave me some great games since I started using this platform and I'm at least trying to keep up with the PS5 games that are on PS Plus. I won't play the online only games so I have Maquette and A Plague Tale: Innocence on my list of PS5 games that I will play. I'm not sure about whether or not I should start Maneater and Oddworld: Soulstorm. And every month there could be another single player PS5 game added that strikes my interest. And I'm not talking about PS4 games. There are so many PS4 games from PS Plus and the PS Plus Collection I wanna play, that it will take me a long long time to keep up with them and the new games. I won't rush through games, because I want to enjoy them and often I even like to just play when I already earned all trophies like 100s of playtime-hours ago (looking at you, Watch Dogs 2). I guess it's Trove. I wanna finish that game and it takes so much time. I'm also close to 500 trophies (less than 100 left) so that I need to plan what my 500th trophy will be. Would be nice if it was a platinum, of course and after that I might earn my 10th platinum. I also have to plan it so that this milestone doesn't become a game I don't like. So I'll have to start and play multiple games soon, but without finishing them. Just for some milestones on this site.

whodeygamer
#17: Hyper Sentinel I decided to take a break from PS Now and focus my time on this game along with Monster Hunter Stories 2 on the Nintendo Switch. I bought this game during the retro sale back in May only because it was less than a dollar. In my opinion it was worth every penny. Hyper Sentinel is a retro arcade inspired indie game with a pretty challenging trophy list. Out of the platinums I’ve earned so far, this is the one with the fewest number of players who have gotten the plat.
Popular Post SirDave1988
# 127 Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order (PS5) A New HopeEarn all trophies Already finished this once before and really enjoyed it, so had to do the PS5 version as well. I could have auto-synced it to get the plat right away, but I wanted to give it another full run through, not only 'cause it's great, but to see what the PS5 upgrade has to offer. Truth be told, there wasn't too much difference between this and the previous gen version that I could see, but it was still great, one of my favourite Star Wars games of all time and I would definitely like to see a sequel one day. This game holds quite a unique distinction for me as the first game I have played in 4K as I finally upgraded my TV right towards the end of getting the platinum, it took me long enough haha
Popular Post Hoopdahoopla
Crash Bandicoot: Warped (100%) Platinum + Future Tense DLC And that's a wrap! All 3 of the N-Sane Trilogy knocked out, this was definitely quicker than the last 2. Only issue I had with this was at times I really couldn't figure out why some of Crash's techniques would randomly stop working, I must have had a ton of retries where jumps I had made several times before just straight up failed or would activate for no reason. Other than that it was a great game, time trials weren't too bad, didn't much like the bike levels though. Although that's 3 plats down, it's only 1 disk cleared from the backlog.
