Popular Post Darghel
#115 Alchemist of Legend (Arc of Alchemist) Difficulty: Besides some difficulty fights, it's pretty easy Time to Complete: 17 hours Recommended: It's short Total Score: 4/10 Welp, a long time ago I wanted to buy this physical and I really liked the idea of a base and action jrpg, reminding me a lot of dark clouds and dark cloud 2 (or dark chronicle for Europeans like me), so I was going to buy it but then I waited...until I saw the reviews and I saw it on a sale a long time after. And all I can think is "GOOD GOD, I dodged a bullet with this one". Let's not beat around the bush: the game is mediocre at best. The combat is very slow and clunky, the magic system is meh and has limited use until you have to return to the base, you cannot change equipment or characters unless you return to the base (smells like type-0 here...) and the story itself is...just uninvolving really. Even when the major plot bomb arrives the story was very uninspiring and boring, and the character interactions are just forgettable at best. It's a shame though because I could see potential here: I really like the art style used, a chibi art style that makes each character look very unique and I really liked that, and I like the idea that they have made huge areas to explore with your base as your hub, making the hub-based exploration "sensical", since that's your only safe place. I also really like the protagonist Quinn, she's a mature (and pretty beautiful if you ask me!) woman and she shows capable leadership skills but is human enough to show her fears and being worried about her group (which tops during the true ending scene, so to speak). And I like the idea that Quinn can use any weapon and be somewhat good at it, and there were a few scenes of interactions between characters that were fairly interesting, even if very short. But again, it's hard to say this game is good: it feels as if they cut corners everywhere they could or flat out removed content or skits to make it work. I just could hardly care about half of the cast of characters! I couldn't care about Micah and Axel crush, or Rune and Sandra's motherly relationship or Sharon having secrets or Darius loving to cook, and Ace's personal revenge, because they never finish those stories with a satisfying ending and just remain open for...nothing really! And the worst offender is the villain...which there is none. Yeah, there's no villain! Okay, the automatons are the villains, sorta, but they have no personality or anything redeeming factor whatsoever - infact their design is very forgettable - and even the ONE character that could've been a possible villain just disappears later on. Even the final boss feels out of place cause there's no real villain! None! Unless....we, humans, are the villain? Naaah, I don't think it's THAT deep! The moral of the story, Arc of Alchemist is a fairly mediocre action jrpg that has the only redeeming quality of being easy to platinum and, well, it actually never crashed on me. It had frame rate drops but it never crashed or bugged out so at least it's working fine (which can't say for other games I played). The platinum is fairly easy but will require some grinding later on. If you're looking for an easy platinum, I can recommend this just fine, but beyond that, I would say just skip it. Popular Post Sylvanticore
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes PS4 #46: Have you ever tried Shawarma? Collect every trophy Lego games... I adore these games, have done ever since the original Lego Star Wars, while I own them all on my Steam account I didn't have any on my PSN account and thought to myself "Why not try and get the Platinum in the Lego games?" so that is what I have started to do. Other than the pain in the backside that is the open world in this game and it only really being any good if you're a flying character like Iron Man, I enjoyed my time doing this game, not sure what I'm going to do next before the next Lego game I have on my list which may be Batman 3 or Jurrasic World but I look forward to either of them.
Popular Post EverythingOnFire
Platinum #28 Lots of people call this an underrated gem, and they're not wrong. Pretty much everything about it is great, though there are the occasional technical problems, especially when it comes to both frame rate and sound. As a game it's an all-time favorite. Easily in my top 25. 100% completion kind of sucks though! Thanks to it's collectables, completion overstays it's welcome by about 10 hours. Collecting in the countryside is pretty fun, as you can just easily run/drive around switching between commando and stealth. Collecting in the city gets old very quickly, due to slow and frustrating rooftop traversal. There are just over 1300 collectables/events, so yeah, it can get pretty mind-numbing at times. My completion took 6 years, 9 months. Never thought I'd get around to it, but here I am, and I'm happy to have finally done so. Up next is Tekken 6.
Popular Post Viscera1900
#316 & #317 - Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Be Yourself "Collect all Trophies" Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 2.5/10 Completion time: 15 hours (in game) / 1 week, 1 day, 22 hours (PSNP) A nice and short game to complete. This game felt like an expansion to Marvel's Spider Man (2018) game, pretty much same as Uncharted: Lost Legacy to Uncharted 4 and Infamous: Last Light to Infamous: Second Son. And for that reason I don't think this game is worth its asking price of 70-80€, depending which physical version you decide to pick up. Despite being overpriced at launch; I think Spider Man: Miles Morales is very enjoyable game, gameplay is addicting as ever and the story is short, but interesting enough to keep you entertained. Popular Post Shrooba
Platinum #52 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven For my 52nd plat, I went and got JoJo: EoH! I've been catching up with Hirohiko Araki's work on the series after he just finished Part 8 (JoJolion), and I thought that playing this game would be a great way to celebrate the shift onto a new Part 9! This game sees all protagonists of the Joestar bloodline as they traverse through time and space to a locale from every part, and fight with familiar friends and foes as they gather the Holy Corpse in order to stop DIO, who possesses a newfound power with his stand, The World Over Heaven. As I said earlier, this game features every single protagonist, and they comprise of varying play styles suited to how they fight, such as prioritizing hamon like Jonathan and Joseph, and stands with Jotaro onward, but then there are special cases like Johnny and his friend Gyro, who ride horses into battle. There's a ton of cool dual combos you can pull off for some great character interactions between each part, and the gameplay itself is top notch with some great skills to pull off, a range of varying maps that represent each part, and a plethora of other characters to play, even DIO himself, Diavolo, Kira, Funny Valentine, and more. Overall, this is one fantastic game! However, for any JoJo fan who's about to dive into this game, just note that it does feature every single JoJo part, so make sure you're up to date with the series as you'll definitely appreciate it more, there's a lot here to enjoy!Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 3/10

Popular Post starcrunch061
Another bit of a plat drop. I still haven't managed to finish the worst game ever. I guess it's the worst game ever for a reason. But anyway: Plat #447 - Nier Replicant The Final Verse Congratulations! Thank you for playing! Sometimes, it's best not to revisit the past. I thoroughly (and surprisingly) enjoyed Nier on the PS3, after detesting Drakengard and Drakengard 2. I particularly liked the emotional story, helped immensely by an (at the time) underrated soundtrack. However, replaying it, I...don't like it as much. While the story remains emotional, it's also very stupid. People act in the dumbest ways possible, because if they didn't, the plot wouldn't progress. I am always thankful for new content added to a game, but story-wise, the content here is...debatable. It's hard to feel much emotion for a monster who needs to eat people in hopes of looking more human. The new ending makes exactly zero sense, and honestly, feels kind of lazy. I liked the "let's delete your info" end of Nier on PS3; it gave a finality to the game. I don't like the "let's get all your info back" new ending. Combat was supposedly improved, but it feels incredibly slippery. Weapon stats continue to be assigned in the same way that points were once given in the show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" There is generally no reason to use a heavy weapon, because light weapons actually have better stats. Hard mode is still a mess; leveling is pointless there. And I'll say once again: IF YOUR INTEREST IS IN GATHERING MATERIALS, HARD MODE DOES NOT HELP. It was the ultimate troll job by the devs to say otherwise. It's still fun to play. Kind of. But I would definitely wait for a sale. Plat #448 - Metagal (Vita) Platinum GAL Get all other trophies. I played through, and enjoyed, this game on the PS4. I completely whored this stack of the trophy. However, it does warrant mention that this game plays far worse on the Vita than on the PS4. It stutters quite a bit. It never crashed, thankfully. But be warned. Plat #449 - Assassin's Creed: Origins Earn Them All! Earn every trophy. This is my first play of any Assassin's Creed game since Assassin's Creed 2 on the PS3. And I'm glad for the revisit. I went all in on this one, buying the complete edition with all DLC, and a bunch of other useless stuff. All in all, it took about 65 hours to 100%, though I did stop to smell the roses quite a bit. The main game is solid, if repetitive. I liked the character of Bayek...right until I didn't. When he was driven to avenge his son, he worked well. But as the game progressed, his attitude changed. The "origin" scene in the game is pretty forced. Also, I didn't like the switch off of bad guys as the game went. It felt just as forced. Happily, the Abstergo nonsense is mostly kept to a minimum. One question, though: if the Assassin's Creed has its origins in Cleopatra's Egypt, how does it exist in the Greece of Alcibiades and Lysander? And also, with the care that the devs took in their development of Egypt, how could they overlook the fact that the nominative singular of Phylakes (Phylaces in Latin) is Phylax, not Phylake. Trophies do this game no favors. Rather than have people do the repetitive quests in the game, they instead are forced to do the far more repetitive non-quests of looting treasures, killing captains and animals, and finding papyrus scrolls. Happily, I didn't miss any of those (woe to those poor souls who played this before you could filter out completed locations, however). The DLC is a mixed bag. I personally enjoyed the Discovery Tour (which I would guess was free). I found the info interesting. The Hidden Ones DLC was a bit of a bore. Instead of the bad guy from the main game, you have...a NEW bad guy! He's just some generic as far as I can tell, complete with generic quests to kill his lieutenants, and then him. You can assassinate people from ziplines; unless you care about trophies, there is absolutely no way you would use this feature. It looks cool. I guess. The Curse of the Pharaohs is a pretty awesome piece of content, though. I enjoyed killing off zombie pharaohs in their own afterlives. The horse you ride in the afterlife is particularly cool, and naturally, you have to do something awesome to use him in Egypt itself. And what is that awesome thing? You...buy him from a stable. I get why people crap on Ubisoft. There is nothing particularly profound in this game. Playing it, it felt like a 3rd person Far Cry. But the thing is, I like the 3rd person Far Cry. I like climbing up rock faces ridiculously to assassinate some poor bloke who can't seem to figure out that the whistle coming from the grass full of corpses is probably dangerous. I won't play another AC game for years, but I did like this one. Edited August 22, 2021 by starcrunch061

I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would this time. Anyway, I believe I have all Need for Speed games done except for the Vita version of Most Wanted and the PS3 version of Rivals. My next platinum trophies will probably be Control and MLB 20 The Show, along with finishing the rest of Doom DLC. I went on a buying spree recently of RPG games. I bought all Disgaea, Ys and Tales games I bought Trails games today. Wife is going to shake her head, but whatever lol. One of those games will be the next project. Popular Post arcanehornet_
#356: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (PS4) This game was a pleasant surprise! Before I played it, it looked like just another CoD. But I actually really enjoyed the campaign! The story is good and Kevin Spacey's inclusion makes it even better. As for the plat, it's very easy. This is probably the easiest Veteran difficulty campaign in the whole series. Sure, there are some bad checkpoints, but I had very little trouble through the whole game. There are a lot of miscellaneous trophies too, most of which I unlocked during the Veteran playthrough. There's also the Exo Survival mode, which was slightly grindy. There's trophies like play 30 minutes with each class, which take a while. And of course, the infamous Exo Flip trophy, where you have to survive 50 waves in one game. I abused a disc-only glitch for this, so it was easy, albeit long. There also would have been a big grind to unlock the Riot map for the Zombies bonus round trophy, but thankfully one of my friends had unlocked it himself. So all I had to do is join his game and survive till round 10. Massive thanks again to him for making my life way easier! Overall, the game is a very good CoD experience, totally recommended, especially the disc version to make your life easier. Glad to have another CoD plat done! Fun: 8/10 Difficulty: 3/10 (with glitch and joining a friend for the Riot map) Time: 25 hours Edited August 22, 2021 by arcanehornet_

Simple answer: it doesn't. Odyssey is supposed to be a game more focused on the Isu lore, and thus it's set in a time period which allows for that to be explored further, at the sacrifice of having no Assassins whatsoever - there's something that comes close, but that's on the DLC. At least, that's what the developers have said. In truth, the series is slowly abandoning the Assassin vs. Templar war and starting to merely become historical RPGs - which is not necessarily a bad thing, especially considering how many people I've seen that absolutely hate the present-day sections with every fiber of their soul, but yeah, you get where I'm getting at.
