Popular Post InsomniWrench
#53 - Star Trek Online The Final Frontier Not just my rarest plat but my rarest trophy so I'm particularly proud of this one. It didn't really require much skill, just a lot (a lot!) of time (and patience waiting for the devs to fix the broken trophies). The game is really old so the graphics are pretty poor and it's riddled with bugs but I just enjoy shooting lasers at things ? #54 & #55 - Subnautica PS4 & PS5 Not much to say here, got this through PS Plus, the game wasn't for me, but got the plat through the dev menu anyway. #56 - Knack 2 Knack: The Ultimate Invention Give us Knack 3 you cowrards.
Popular Post Jelly Soup
#147 NieR:Automata The fighting mechanics are awesome, but surprisingly challenging too. I wouldn't mind the challenge too much if it wasn't for that fact that most of it comes from wrestling the camera, that has an odd habit of trying to get profile shots of the character mid-fight. Another complaint is the fog effect + lens flare is not a great visual combination, particularly so when its everywhere for the entire game. That aside, I admit to speeding through this one as I have it PSNow, so time is limited. I came in expecting an pseudo anime game...and I pretty much got that...but didn't expect it to be pretty good. OST is amazing, downloading as I type this. Aside: If you've read anything I've posted around here before, you know that I hate credit screws. Hate them from the pit of my soul, screaming out into tendrils of rage from which no man will survive. But I'm willing to admit when one was done really well, and NieR did it really well. It actually had a lot of surprise interface screws that all made sense in context. Good show all around. Popular Post Conor
#111- RESIDENT EVIL VII: BIOHAZARD [PS4] Biosplattered Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 5/10 Time: 4 months, 2 days, 6 hours, 32 minutes, 33 seconds / 38 Hours Rarity: 1.6% Ultra Rare (PSN) / 11.58% Rare (PSNProfiles) Challenge: Who's Your Daddy Now?- Complete the game on Madhouse I must admit, I had fallen very much out of love with the Resident Evil series over the years. It just didn't hold my interest like it did when I was younger. Sure, the fact that Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 weren't all that great and Operation Raccoon City being awful had a part to play in that, but I also never bothered to play either of the Revelations games despite hearing how much better they were. It wasn't until I got caught up in the hype for the launch of Resident Evil Village this year that I decided to hop back into the main series properly and I discovered a near-masterpiece. Resident Evil VII: Biohazard changed things up a lot by going to the first-person perspective but also brings back some of the survival horror elements that made the series so tense in the first place. Your ammo is limited, your health fragile and the enemies can lay waste to you easily if you act stupidly. Ethan Winters is a naff protagonist, too much of a "blank slate" but the villains are very interesting and also tragic given how they were pretty much decent people before the events of the game. The part on the ship towards the end is also quite a bit boring and I really just didn't care about Ethan or Mia but the game was more than fun enough to make up for the poor characterisation of the protagonists. It was also fun to speedrun and use minimal health items and item boxes in the same playthrough; very easy really on the lowest difficulty but still fun. Madhouse difficulty is where the real challenge lies but unlike some games where the highest challenge betrays the deep flaws, Madhouse flips this on its head and shows the major strengths. The game is also scary as hell, I never felt safe and comfortable and the twist with the antagonist was quite a surprise. I had quite a few jumps and definitely a spot or two where I literally felt frozen in fear. Amazing. The DLC is also very good, I played through each one at least once though I'll probably never go back to finish it 100%. I see some still saying that this isn't a "true Resident Evil game" but by that they mean it doesn't have the fixed camera angles, which is complete nonsense as one aspect does not make a series or a game therein. Where have these morons been the last decade and a half? Glad I didn't pay any bit of mind to those bozos- this game particularly on Madhouse difficulty is the closest one can possibly get to that classic RE feel but with an immersive first person view to boot. Resident Evil 4 is still my favourite of the series but this is damn close in my estimation. Incidentally, the sequel Resident Evil Village is also awesome, but I'll get to that when I eventually platinum it as well, hopefully sometime this year. Popular Post DrunkenEngineer
Platinum #22 + DLC 100% - Grand Theft Auto V (August 25, 2021) The game that needs no introduction, Grand Theft Auto V (GTAV) is widely considered a milestone for open-world titles. My first (and to this point, only) Grand Theft Auto game, GTAV introduces a 3-protagonist mechanic, a crime story reminiscent of Heat, Casino, Reservoir Dogs, and other pop-culture masterpieces, GTAV brought it all together into a landmark achievement that has become a victim of it's own success. The Good A level of technical excellence only to be surpassed by Red Dead Redemption 2 Fantastic mo-cap animations that have aged well some 8 years after the original release Car driving is an absolute blast, with moderately realistic physics and capability for some insane vehicular hijinks Truly beautiful vistas - you'll be rewarded for taking a Sunday drive and helicopter tour just to see what you can see The Bad The sardonic humor and parody of American values got old quick The length; it's way way way too long The third person controls are mind-boggling archaic - hold X to run? Doomsday Heist is awful, and GTAO has become a monster in of itself 100% Impressions Knowing that the next gen version is coming out Fall 2021 I bumped this up to highest priority anticipating changes to the Online. The game has been on my profile since 2014 and was one of the first games I picked up when I bought my PS4. I came back with save files at roughly 75% completion, and absolutely no experience with Online. It became quickly apparent that getting through the online base list wouldn't be difficult, just grindy. With the trick to establish a solo public lobby one could whittle away in relative peace. However, the Heist trophy lists were going to be no joke, especially Doomsday with the Elitist and Criminal Mastermind trophies with their ridiculously low completion rates. They require essentially flawless multiple completions of the Doomsday Heist, which in itself takes 6-10 hours per run! No way! I snooped around and found a community of folks who run those challenges and was able to find some reliable teammates and with their gracious help we managed to get them done over 4 very long sessions. With the stressful online portion complete, the single player cleanup was a very pleasant, uncomplicated, but long task. The stunt jumps and knife flights were beyond frustrating. Definitely use a guide for those! Otherwise, the Rockstar Social Club checklist was invaluable and with some time one can get the in-game 100% no problem. The Gold medal trophy was my last for the platinum, and I worked it out to hit it on a replay of the "Third Way", the canonical ending mission. My hope was the trophy would pop as the credits rolled, a perfect sunset to an arduous and rewarding project. What actually happened was I spent 2 hours setting this house of cards up, only to have the trophy pop during the loading screen after the mission when I was returned back into the open world. Hah! I really have to warn completionists against adding this fresh to a profile in 2021. You'd be looking at a 250+ hour project with no guarantee of a 100% given the frankly ridiculous trophy requirements for the Doomsday Heist DLC. If you are OK with having an incomplete game, by all means take the plunge. It was rightly considered a game of a generation and honestly everyone should at least sample it.
Popular Post slender_adrian
#75 Difficulty: 4/10 Enjoyment: 10/10 Rarity: 9.19% Very Rare Time: 25 Hours Milestone: 75th Platinum "Let's dance, boys!" I love this game! It's just amazing, when I played this game for the first time and played that Intro I was amaze, its gameplay is so brilliant that really makes you try new stuff while defeating Angels, the story is good, it gets a bit crazy at somepoint. It has pretty funny parts and of course some weird stuff. The soundtrack for this game it's amazing, that fly me to the moon version is very good, the music in general its just amazing. I really liked all characters, specially Bayonetta, since for me it's a character that make sense, it doesn't feel like cheap fanservice, all characters had their own charisma, yep even Enzo. The bosses for this game are magnificent, when you encounter them on the first time they might be confusing but once you know what to do they became easy to defeat. I liked a lot the normal enemies, except for those ships, they are so annoying. Truly enjoyed this one, being a big fan of the first DMC and playing its "spiritual successor" was amazing, (I don't know how many references of dmc are in this game haha but I love them all) this game is a gem! Spoiler By the way, my favorite boss was Jubileus, being the final boss in space and having to throw her to the sun was so epic, I wonder how many times I destroyed earth on ∞ Infinite Climax haha, but seriously that ending was fun and awesome. On the trophies side, getting the platinum for this game was easy but fun to do, probably the trophy which took me more time to get was Angel Slayer, but mainly because I was doing them on my first run, the first half of those Alfheim portals where annoying and tedious ( Angel May Cry), besides that this is a pretty easy platinum. I was hoping to get a decent challenge on ∞ Climax difficulty but it was pretty much easy to get by (I'm not a skilled player but I barely use any items on hard or ∞ Climax). Besides that, the rest of the trophies are as usual, story, collectibles, and some misc trophies. If you have any of the PS3 or PS4 versions for this game I highly recommend going for it, I had an awesome time going for the platinum of this game. Popular Post Ya_Boy_James
#53 - HADES (PS4) God of Blood Earn all other Trophies Hades slaps. This game is super rewarding, polished & complete, and a hell of a lot of fun. Unfortunately my PS5 stopped working so I've been back on my PS4, but that leaves me looking forward to another go at some point. It took me 197 escape attempts with 15 clears to reach Platinum, and even with that volume this game never felt like a grind. Huge kudos to Supergiant on this title - I've just realized an earlier game from them, Transistor, is available on Playstation too so its on my shortlist of future games to pick up (watched my sister play a little on computer but I assumed it never made console). If you've enjoyed Hades give it a look! I decided to play PS4 on Hell Mode since I had a little exposure to the game on Steam. This adds some non-optional difficulty mods from the Pact of Punishment to every run as well as one condition unique to Hell Mode that allows you to be hit by multiple attacks at once, rather than blocking damage stacks. Hell Mode also locks you out of God Mode, which grants up to 80% damage reduction. There was some bellyaching on this site about the inclusion of God Mode altogether and it "devaluing the Platinum" but it really would be a shame to let that keep you from this awesome title. If you complained about God Mode and don't play on Hell Mode, I'm sending mad disrespect your way ? Jokes aside, this is a top tier game. Highly rated and popular for a reason. My most common boon in my cleared attempts was Divine Dash as it was great for survivability and was easy to find. Shield of Chaos wound up my most frequent weapon choice on clears (5). My preferred keepsake setup in the end when I was completing Harsh Conditions in the Pact of Punishment was: Companion Battie Owl Pendant (Tartarus - basically for Divine Dash) Frostbitten Horn (Asphodel - for frost Attack or Special, chance at Killing Freeze, and chance at Stubborn Roots duo boon for healing) Pom Blossom (Elysium) Evergreen Acorn (Styx) Even though I arrived at a personal formula for success, over 100 different boons, varied room rewards/events, and general RNG made for some wildly different runs and builds that kept this game fresh and interesting on each attempt. Go to hell, you won't regret it! ?
Popular Post Bratinov
Plat 66: South Park: The Fractured but Whole Difficulty: 4 Fun: 8 Grind: 3 The Stick of Truth is a tough game to live up to, but I believe this one is a worthy successor. It's longer, it has more characters and more powers to play with. The combat system is objectively better and more tacticle. While the SoT becomes a cakewalk in the second half, this one provides tense and challenging battles almost the whole way through. The equipment system is dumbed-down, but there's plenty of cosmetic customisation. One thing I don't like, are the many simplistic navigation "puzzles" you have to do one after the other, it just gets old. Some may disagree, but I find the story just as good as in the original, maybe not as shocking and outrageous, but definitely as funny. Trophies are great, and all but one are unmissable. You have to go out of your way to not get the Plat in one run. Considering the South Park drought we are currently having, this just what I needed ?. Popular Post bigrake1
Far Cry 3: Classic Edition Mastered the Jungle Just wrapped up the Far Cry 3: Classic Edition platinum experience rusting in my backlog. As others have often noted, it’s an enjoyable game, and most of the trophies will pop naturally as you progress through the story. There are only really 3 trophies that require farming outside of the story arc (25 enemies distracted by rocks thrown, 50 enemies torched by the flamethrower, and the collection of 60 relics). The poker trophy can be satisfied by completing a side quest (Father’s Burden). Overall, this is a relaxing Ubisoft map-clearing game. I played on Normal and was only pressed on a few quests and had to make a few adjustments to achieve the 3rd Tier of success on all the Trials of Rakyat. Fall damage can be a nuisance at times. Even with the skill you can acquire later in the game to reduce fall damage by 25%, I found myself constantly getting wounded from random fall damage. Stealthily clearing bases with a sniper, for me, was the best part of the game. The guns are a lot of fun, and the Signature machine gun Ripper sort of breaks the game. Is there an end game? I think end-game challenge could arise by playing on Warrior, opting not to use Signature weapons (essentially the game’s exotics), and by fully completing all of the Handbook tasks. If this game is in your backlog, you can complete this fully (the whole Handbook) in 35-40 hours with casual play. If you just want metal, you can probably blast this game apart in 25 hours with Ripper and Z93 (a suppressed sniper with great zoom). Popular Post MissShake
#69: Cinders Happily Ever After Gather all other Cinders trophies Back really soon, huh? Well I needed to finish some games up fast for Gaming By Numbers, and Cinders fit that role beautifully. Too bad the rest of the game wasn't that great. It had amazing, and I mean amazing, background art. Super colorful and it definitely catches the eye. But the in-game portraits look... Off. I'm not sure how to explain it, but they look kind of weird. The ending art was okay though, it looks more like the art of the trophies, which I liked a fair bit. The art being a bit iffy would be fine if the story itself was interesting enough. Sadly it bored me. I think the idea of an adaptation of the Cinderella story could be really interesting for a visual novel, and Cinders does a couple of thing that I did enjoy (like the attempt to give the stepmother and stepsisters more character), but overall it just didn't do as much as it could. Ah well, it is what it is.
Popular Post Redgrave
#218: Scorched Savior - Saints Row: Gat out of Hell What was basically the last breath of the (original) Saints Row series. It's funny seeing how Saints Row started off as a series about gangs causing mayhem that escalated to aliens and eventually going to Hell itself to punch Satan in the face. Despite that sounding cool it wasn't really a good note to leave off on since the game felt pretty rushed and not only was it really short but they pretty much did elongate game time by adding in challenges that take longer to do than the campaign and taking over the territories. Along with that there isn't much in the way of side content at all and the location of Hell itself was pretty grey and lifeless barring the red lava decor. I know it's ironic to say that Hell looks bad but I feel like with a game that has a premise of Johnny Gat going to punch Satan they could have probably done a lot more if they had a better budget and more development time. But I know it's not really Volitions fault because THQ was pretty much on their last legs at the time and there really wasn't anything that was going to save it. But if there was any consolation it was nice seeing the antagonist of Saints Row 2 again and that the ending did try to at least give a happier ending considering how everything with Saints Row IV went down. The weapons and powers were also fun to use but due to how limited the content was it didn't really feel like you could mess around with them like you normally would in the previous Saints Row games. And once again I would like to thank @Undead Wolf for playing co-op with me again to make it bearable. ?

It is a motorbike racing game, that also has a simple combat mechanism implicated in the game as well. Additionally, it has an open-world element, where you can freely explore the surroundings and gather the 7 collectibles scattered all over the map. There is a story mode where you have to undertake various racing missions (i.e. sprint missions, stunt missions, simple races and elimination races).
