There just wasn't much of substance here. The story missions are few and far apart, so the vast majority of playtime is spent doing the game's side activities (basically the same as the ones in previous games) and completing challenges (weapon kills, collectibles, etc). While it doesn't take particularly long to get the plat, it felt longer because it's basically just a grind from start to finish. Even the story that was there wasn't particularly rememberable. I thought Saints Row 4 jumped the shark a bit with how OTT it was, but at least it was entertaining. Gat out of Hell felt like old hat. But hey, even after saying all that, I did still enjoy my time with it, if only because it was an excuse to talk to my buddy (and co-op partner) @Redgrave. I sure as hell would rather play this game than that abomination of a reboot. #372 - Sakura Succubus 3 Lovely Succubi Find everything there is to find about your Succubus friends. Finally got around to playing part 3 of the glorious Sakura Succubus saga. Always a treat to sit down with one of these games and admire the beautiful art. This one adds yet another new succubus to the MC's harem (lucky bastard). She's a bit possessive, but I like that. She also hates wearing shoes apparently. Popular Post Quink666
#389 The Medium Completionist 5.08% Difficulty: / Fun: / Trophies: / Time to Plat: 6 Hours After Blair Witch i told myself that i would never buy another Bloober game for the simple reason they haven't been very good since Layers of Fear. But stupid as i am i did. This game was at least sorta unique but that's all it had going for itself. Story was average at best and there was a ton of artificially lengthening the game, walking over several bams really slow and crouching under stuff. Not scary in any way shape or form. Trophies also glitched on me forcing me to replay the game with a fresh save. Thank god that worked because i don't think i had it in me to play this a 3rd time in one sitting. The Medium costs 50 bucks and takes 4ish hours to platinum assuming you dont have trophies glitch on you. That's a high price imho. You are better of getting this on sale when it's 30 or preferably below.

Popular Post ShonenCat
Platinum #88 - Dragon Ball FighterZ Difficulty Rating 8/10 Enjoyment Rating 6/10 Ultra Rare - 2.68% Well, can’t say I’m a fan of tag team fighters in specific. But maybe at the right price I can get hooked and reeled in ? DBFZ is a decent game in its own right, yet it’s kind of brainless.. especially since it was developed by Arc System Works. Expected something a little more complex, but it is the game that put them on the map. They’ve always been pretty niche up till now. DBFZ comes with many basic fighting game type of trophies. You’ll do story mode, which is fairly interesting this time around. It has a unique arc and isn’t just retelling the anime for the umpteenth time. Yet I find it extremely awkward when Monica Rial or Sean Schemmel are trying to talk to me. Probably should of left it in Japanese. There is also arcade and combo challenge, which is far easier than it sounds. You can even unlock a few extra characters and skip a good amount of them in place of easier ones. The true slog comes from grinding 20 million zeni. Get yourself something with a turbo function and forget about it for a couple weeks. Earning 530 thousand BP in ranked matches is no fun either, especially when I hear it’s much harder after a few patches. I have @Sigma999 to thank for this one. If it were not for his everlasting patience camping out in the Hong Kong servers with me, I may have never finished the online portion. Thank you ? Overall, I find the game’s roster rather lacking when every other character is a variation of Goku or Vegeta. It’s tiresome. Not a fighting game I will be returning to despite its beautiful and aesthetically accurate presentation.

Popular Post Carol
#221 Eventide: Slavic Fable Platinum Unlock every Trophy. I like PS Now, not to play big AAA games, because I tend to buy the ones that interest me, as soon as I can afford them, but to play these little gems that, for some reason, I don't usually spend money on. "Eventide: Slavic Fable" is a very charming Hidden-Object/Point and Click adventure game and, for me, it was a pleasure to play it. The puzzles are, mostly, intuitive, the story is simple, but beautiful and the environments are pretty too. This might not be the most prestigious platinum, but this game was very enjoyable and, since I find these types of games quite addictive, I will probably play the other ones from this genre that are available on PS Now too.
Popular Post Rick_Sanchez
Platinum 265 Fun: 8/10 Difficulty: 6/10 Remnant: From the Ashes is what happens when you throw Resident Evil 4 and Dark Souls into a blender and throw in great online co-op action! The game is never the same twice in the row as you'll get different world and dungeon layouts as well as events that decide what equipment you'll be able to obtain/buy from people as well as events that rely on other events to be active to be able to fight certain bosses/obtain other equipment. You'll be able to have some customization on your equipment with weapon mods which range from grenade launcher attachments, being able to summon a very good boy (doggo), summon flying skulls to fight along side you, send out a swarm of bugs to attack near by enemies, attack buffs, armor buffs, the list goes on! There is a survival mode that acts as a rogue like type mode which is fun with more players. There are certain bosses that you can kill in different ways, be it shooting off their tail, blowing a leg off, staggering them to climb on their back to pull a weapon out of it, and you'll get different final drops vs killing them normally. You do have to gather a lot of armor and upgrade a weapon to its max level which can take a few runs to gather all the material. This is an excellent game and if you love Souls like games and Resident Evil 4, you'll fall in love with this hidden gem.

Popular Post Deadly_Ha_Ha
#1* - Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Difficulty - 5/10 Enjoyment - 8/10 This is the start of my Kingdom Hearts smurf account. I have the ps4 KH games with plats done on this, my main account, and I wanted to have a side project to do every Kingdom Hearts game that I could turn to when I felt tired of my main. I have an almost desperate love for the series, and I am choosing to go through the games in in-lore chronological order going from PS3 to PS4. As such, my next game will be BBS on PS4, which I honestly think will be easier/better than the PS3 version. If I'm going to be honest, you likely won't catch me marking my enjoyment of any of these games lower than an 8, maybe a 7 at the lowest for the PS3 version of Re: CoM, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Birth by Sleep as a Kingdom Hearts game is beyond reproach. Its story is so impactful and so moving that no matter what the platinum experience is like, Birth by Sleep the game is untouchable. That being said, this is not the best platinum in the series. I can deal with doing the same things for three characters, I can stand restarting my progress between files, and I can even stand going through the game twice with Terra since on Critical he's just too annoying to bother with and the Beginner PT is actually worth doing... But I cannot stand the Command Board minigame. It's Monopoly lite, if you haven't played BBS. It is so awful, so excruciatingly boring and yet anxiety provoking simultaneously, and just so much an investment of time that the platinum suffers tremendously in my opinion. It is hours, and hours, of this stupid board game in my Kingdom Hearts action-rpg. I'd say miss me with that but I don't have a choice if I want the plat. The trophy guide estimates this game at a 7/10 difficulty, 6 play throughs, 150 hours. That is, two play throughs with each character, one on Critical, one on Normal. Well, no offense, but I think the guide is dead wrong and actually just totally off base. The reasoning for this I think is because the guide writers wanted to spare you from having to do most of the grinding with any character playing on Critical, but the only character that Critical is actually a problem for is Terra, and that's because his dodge does not have perfect i-frames like Ventus and Aqua, and that creates a lot of awful fights. In my opinion, playing on Beginner with Terra after blitzing through Critical and 100%ing his journal on Beginner while then playing Ventus and Aqua on Critical for the 100% is perfectly fine to do and saves two extra play throughs. The game is not a 7/10 difficulty, I find that ridiculous. I think it's a 5, mostly because the grind is more than most people can stomach. At 4 PT's, my total playtime was 66h20m, and that included probably at least a small handful of hours just mulling about or idling the PS3. Popular Post PooPooBlast
#159 and 100% Astro's playroom Got myself a ps5 yesterday and decided to fire this up like everybody else for my first game. One helluva of an introduction to the ps5! Asobo studios have outdone themselves with introducing the Dualsense features and they intertwined this with showcasing the PlayStation history. As cheesy as it sounds, it was coded with love. I was really impressed by the dualsense. Some examples includes rain spatter that tickles your finger with each drop, experiencing a streaking sensation when ice skating and feeling great pushback on the triggers when rocket boosting, pulling a bow or spring loading. Simply phenomenal. Also, the game has TONS of references to PlayStation IPs or popular 3rd party games. I can go on and on listing them here but those were my absolute favourites :). I like this one because my ps4 pro is right there The final collection! Having said all that, looking forward to a great PlayStation generation! Greatness awaits and good luck if you're hunting for a ps5! Cheers! Edited September 4, 2021 by PooPooBlast
Popular Post rjkclarke
Platinum #326 Beholder: Complete Edition (PS4) Government Elite Unlock all the Trophies in Beholder! I’m having a hard time really defining exactly what Beholder is – and I’ve just played it. Hopefully I’ll have a better idea once we get to the end of this. The thing is, that’s part of the beauty of the game itself. Even watching videos or looking at screenshots, in a game like this you never truly know what you’re going to get until you actually play it. There aren’t a whole lot of direct comparisons either in the video game department – which again, is nothing but a good thing, meaning it stands out on that basis alone. I suppose, if I had a gun to my head and I had to compare this game to anything, I’d probably compare it to This War of Mine: The Little Ones and from everything I’ve heard about it Papers Please (Beholder references that game very heavily in one of its tasks in the base game story) They do share a few similarities. However, I’d have to say they probably share fewer similarities on a tonal and artistic level. In that department they are wholeheartedly different. Bearing all of the above in mind though – I do have to at least try and quantify exactly what this game is. I’ll try and do this as best I can without actually putting anyone off playing it. I’ve seen Beholders genre defined as an Adventure before, which in a way is correct. It isn’t a point- and – click adventure that’s for sure, nor is it a game that is driven forward by its narrative or solely on gameplay. It has a narrative of course, but it’s directly affected by your choices via gameplay. So I guess it wouldn’t be incorrect to call it an interactive Adventure. I have to commend the game in this department too though; I like the fact that I’m still not entirely sure what it was. What I do know is that I had an incredibly interesting experience getting here. I keep mentioning it – but I think it’s about time I actually discuss what you should expect from the game itself. Beholder: Complete edition, essentially exists as a game in two parts. The base game and the DLC story. The game takes place in a totalitarian police state – the base game itself sees you take the role of Carl Stein, a government employed landlord who is tasked with spying on the tenants who live within his building. Part of your job includes profiling the tenants to make sure they keep within the letter of the law. This is where the Beholders gameplay presents itself. You have control over what Carl does so you can choose to put cameras up in all of the apartments, steal from the tenants, blackmail the tenants and perform various tasks to help them – in the pursuit of monetary and reputation gain. It should also be noted that many of the tasks are on a timer, which adds a deeper level of tension to proceedings. As usual in a game like this, the game contains many potential endings, which I think I’d have been interested to see even if trophies hadn’t been involved. The DLC story Blissful Sleep, which coincidentally is my favourite thing about this game – probably maximises the use of the in game timer. It’s also worth mentioning that the DLC is a prequel to the main story. You play as Hector Medina – who (and these aren’t spoilers) has been accidentally processed for a euthanasia program, due to a government mistake – who is now in a race against time to save his own life. It really adds a fascinating sense of urgency to the story found within the DLC, due to some of the much stricter time restrictions. The gameplay itself might on the surface seem standardised, yet it’s anything but. It’s simplistic – yes, but part of that simplicity is also why it is so effective. It’s incredibly easy to pick up without having to really learn how it all works, you essentially learn as you play. The element of choice is one of the most impressive things on offer in Beholder. Beholder’s events can take many different forks, depending on the choices you make within the story. Some ways of resolving tasks will end up having a much greater implication to the end of the game than perhaps you’d expect them to. Due to the nature of the gameplay, to profile or blackmail people ends up being a constant moral dilemma, aspects of this are really well realised when you are tasked with having to find a vast amount of money in a short amount of time – so you are often forced to turn to more nefarious means, even in the pursuit of doing the right thing. One of the things I really appreciated was the heightened sense of tension the game sometimes puts upon you. You often get tasked with finding something specific in a tenant’s room, which means rummaging through their belongings – which often-times means you need to be extra vigilant, having a constant eye on the camera to see where that tenant is. Sometimes you basically have to learn when specific tenants end up going to work, or eating food – just to sneak in with greater ease. It was an element of the gameplay that made me feel quite disgusted with myself at times. That’s why I compared it to This War of Mine earlier, because that game made me feel similar levels of shame for my in game actions. I think This War of Mine does it slightly more effectively, but Beholder also shares that in common with This War of Mine, that the element of control you as a player have, ends up making your own specific reaction to it, that much more visceral. I think the DLC really illustrates how well structured the developers have actually crafted their story, it’s subtle too, it makes perfect sense why some of the characters that appear in both story sections act the way that they do – once you’ve experienced all outcomes. In this regard, I absolutely commend an incredibly deep and well structured story that on the surface might seem fairly simple. Carl’s story in the base game, is very good itself I just ever so slightly prefer the DLC story out of the two of them. When you combine the two into one narrative though, it’s very impressive how well realised it all is. However, that tight structure is probably why I ended up preferring the DLC overall – add to that, the fact that the premise itself of a man facing a state enforced euthanasia before his time seems incredibly relatable. It ends up injecting a tangible pace into the DLC that might not have been their otherwise. It’s also got some incredibly dark humour peppered into it too, once you move in the character Khan, who I think would be best described as a Witch Doctor - if you choose to, some absolute hilarity will ensue with some of the various potions and remedies you can give to the buildings tenants. Beholder’s visual style is probably the thing that sets it apart the most from a game like This War of Mine. In some ways that is to its detriment, in others not so much. It’s very deliberate art style is visually incredibly interesting. I’m going to paraphrase Matt Groening, but he once mentioned that for characters to really stand out they have to be identifiable by silhouette, which surprisingly in the case of Beholder they actually do. I can’t help but appreciate the effort that went into this. I can definitely understand why the characters look the way they do – it very clearly imbibes the point the developers wanted to make about ordinary citizens essentially just being faceless cogs in the machine. Unfortunately - I think perhaps unfairly from my perspective, with my comparison to This War of Mine, the use of indistinguishable faces makes some of the characters feel much less relatable, which in my case at least lead to having much less pathos for some characters compared with This War of Mine. In that title, it used real life photographs of people, which to me ended up making them feel very much more real than they do in Beholder. I’d love to go in depth about the sound design and the soundtrack. To be perfectly honest though, there isn’t really enough of it to warrant much more than a few sentences. What there is - is at least quite effective. Especially the musical cues as something significant happens, in that regard it does a really effective job of heightening the situation. Beholder doesn’t contain any voice acting outside of the narrator, who does an interesting job. As a side note - I’d love to know what their accent is, because it’s an interesting one for sure. When thinking about the trophies for Beholder – I’d absolutely implore anyone that ends up playing this to use a guide. You won’t really be spoiled on story events either. Don’t make the mistake I did either and get overzealous and deviate from the guides. You’ll almost certainly regret it haha. Thankfully the game is mercifully short though, and the gameplay loop is very satisfying so I didn’t really mind. I ended up having to replay a significant amount of the DLC because I ended up just winging it and thinking I’d be ok – when in reality I’d messed up and had to replay some sections multiple times as I didn’t have the required reputation points to get all of the games endings. It does make the use of a guide pretty much a necessity though, and the various roadmaps available look like a veritable spider’s web. It’s the type of trophy list I personally really enjoy, where it essentially tasks you with seeing almost everything there is to see in the game. It really makes it feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. I think I’d definitely recommend playing Beholder – it’s not very long, it’s an astonishingly unique experience, which will pretty much be unlike anything you’ve played before. It seems to go on sale very often too, so I’d recommend picking up the bundle of the first and second Beholder. I got it for well under £5 I believe. I’ve yet to play Beholder 2 – which I’ve heard very much changes up the gameplay quite substantially, but I’m very much looking forward to it now. I suppose, trophy hunting prevented me from doing the same with that game and FF XV. Although the gameplay is different than the original XV, dialogues and story are identical. So replaying FF XV, made me realize even more how much of a waste it was. Instead of making the XVI, they should remake XV with a better director/writer #265 The Escapists: The Walking Dead Rick's Legacy Enjoyment: 9/10 Difficulty: 4/10 I loved Escapists 1 & 2, i used to like Walking Dead, so playing this was due to happen. The only thing that kept me from doing it so long, was the reports about how unstable is Woodbury level. And it's true, the game is broken there, you can't die and the game crashes if you sleep (save game) after Day 2. So basically you have to complete it without dying or saving and you have 3-6 Days to do it. Game definitely crashes at Day 7, sometimes between Day 3-6. It's not easy but it's doable if you learn the level's layout and you have a little luck. This plat is special to me because out of the 266 i have, it was the first i did using a blank account #266 Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age Living Legend Enjoyment: 10/10 Difficulty: 3/10 It's always nice to stack games you liked and even better when there is no option to auto-pop trophies. Popular Post TheArcadeKid
#230 - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (PS3) I got the plat for the PS4 version of this game about a year ago. Didn't expect to get the PS3 plat so soon (or ever, considering I no longer own a PS3), but there was a ridiculously good deal for PS Now, so here we are. The game is obviously inferior to the PS4 version in terms of visuals and animations, but even so, it still holds up. Extremely impressive for an early PS3 title, and it's fascinating to remember what that console was capable of. The aiming is also worse on PS3. I'm not sure if this is a PS Now issue or because DualShock 3 had less sensitive sticks than DualShock 4. I was concerned this would really screw me over, but it just meant I had to adapt to the less refined controls. Headshots were more or less out of the question, so I focused on 4-5 chest shots in quick succession. It was an enjoyable experience, and although I'd argue that the Uncharted series is still unashamedly shallow, it's still terrific fun. Uncharted 1 in particular has a great sense of place, with the blocks of interconnected levels. I originally played this game over 7 years ago(!) Getting the platinum mostly required finding all treasures, and completing the game on Crushing. It's annoying that I had to play the game on Hard to unlock Crushing, but then again, the Hard playthrough allowed me to focus on treasures and a few miscellaneous trophies (I even managed to kill 75 enemies in a row without dying on Hard, which rather pleased me). Plus it probably prepped me for Crushing too, which was more or less a breeze - I wasn't stuck on any area for more than 4 or 5 tries.
