Popular Post No longer here
#137 - Deathloop Difficulty: 3.5/10 Enjoyment: 8/10 Time: 25h+ PSNP Rarity: 20.04% PSN Rarity: 2.0% Ah, another Arkane game that I absolutely enjoyed all the way through. Yes the game the is not a "masterpiece" but if you played any of the Dishonored games or even Prey. there is a very high chance of getting similar enjoyment from those games. I do have to admit that i LOVED the concept of the story and how great the voice acting is. Gameplay was good as expected and it ran well. The AI is probably the worst in the series but you can still be very creative on how you approach different scenarios. There is no difficulty, however you can die very quickly if not being cautious enough. The trophies were fun to do and actually added to the overall experience. This game may not be the same quality imo as the first two Dishonored games, but it sure is damn good and I had a wonderful time experiencing a less serious game but maintaining the Dishonored identity. I recommend this especially if you enjoy Arkane games! Arkane Studios has never made a bad game change my mind
Popular Post AJ_Radio
Platinum #289: Streets of Rage 4 Difficulty: 6/10 Excitement Rating: 8.5/10 Estimated Time to Platinum: 15+ Hours Hardest Trophy: Maniac ( Get an S-Rank on all stages on Hard difficulty or higher ) A solid entry to the Streets of Rage franchise. Streets of Rage 4 (SOR4 for short) has some flaws that keep this from being truly great, but this is a great choice to play couch co-op with. If you don't have any buddies with you, you can always play with others online. The online itself isn't mandatory at all for online trophies, which I am thankful for. The platinum can be a bit difficult, because you have to S rank all stages on Hard difficulty, and beat Arcade Mode on Hard difficulty. Arcade Mode is essentially what games used to be way back in the day. If you lose all our lives, it is game over, you must start from the very beginning. Story Mode saves your progress in-between levels, which is necessary for modern audiences. Playing the game a few times on Normal and Easy difficulties will prepare you for Hard. I don't consider SOR4 to be all too hard, but you need to definitely practice the levels for the S ranks. The other trophies in the base game set will come naturally over time. The DLC was good, as it introduces a Survival Mode which is basically you against waves of enemies, on one life. Using the DLC characters were a huge help in obtaining both the S ranks and reaching level 30. A fun game, well worth the time and money. If you love beat em ups, or if you want to try out something different, go ahead and pick up SOR4. Have a good time with your friends. It's definitely worth the experience. Popular Post postofficebuddy
Platinum #173: Witchcrafty Fun: 3/10 Difficulty: 2/10 Picked this one up about a month ago when I heard that it may be one of the last Vita games released. I think the devs had to rush it out under the deadline because the ending was extremely abrupt even for a low budget indie game. Also the game is quite glitchy. Your character model will often get locked into an animation and be unable to move. Unfortunately can’t say that I would recommend this.

Popular Post dmland12
#131 -- Blackhole Congratulations! (1.25%) You have completed all game's trophies! Really fun and challenging puzzle/platformer that deserves more attention! The main thing that sets this game apart for me is the variety of the platforming. The main gimmick is that the whole screen/gravity will rotate when you touch certain spots (gravity pads) and it does a good job of building on this with other classic platforming mechanics (wind, lasers, crumbling platforms, reappearing platforms etc). Loved the "ah-ha" moments when I figured out what I needed to do in a level, which was shortly followed by an "oh no" moment, when I realized the platforming that would be necessary to pull it off. ?
Popular Post whodeygamer
#23: Yakuza: Like A Dragon (PS4) I originally planned for this to be platinum 25, but I forgot that the milestones are for every 10 until 50, so I decided to just go for it without worrying about a milestone. Anyway, I’m a newcomer to the Yakuza franchise. I love JRPG’s, it’s my favorite genre, so this game in particular caught my eye. I’m not the type of guy who goes in depth into something in a post, so I’m going to keep this semi-brief. Like a Dragon is definitely one of my favorite games of the 8th generation of video games. The story gripped me from start to finish, and there were a couple of moments that completely caught me off guard. I loved the soundtrack, I’ve never seen that style of music used in a JRPG before. The side quests were a wonderful mix ranging from heartwarming to funny to just plain weird. I also loved the JRPG references spread throughout the game such as Dragon Quest and Pokémon. I really enjoyed the mini games, especially Dragon Kart. I could see the devs deciding to make a standalone spinoff Yakuza racing game featuring characters from the series’ history. The only thing didn’t care for about this game was the crazy grind requirement for the final post game dungeon. If you’re a fan of JRPG’s or of Yakuza, this is a must buy. I have other stuff I could say, but I’m tired and I spent enough time getting the plat lol. Edited October 13, 2021 by whodeygamer
Popular Post MrGarland
Platinum #119 Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Difficulty: 3/10 Playtime: 13 hours (1 week, 4 days) Enjoyment: 8/10 Ah, yes. Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing. A game that I remember owning on the Wii back in the day. You could say that it was more or less meant to be a competitor to Mario Kart Wii. While it's obvious who's the victor here, it doesn't mean that this game is bad. In fact, it turned out to be pretty good. First of all, the characters. Besides the few favorites from the Sonic series, the game features a nice amount of characters from various Sega games. Anyone who's played some of the classic titles on Dreamcast and such feel welcome here. Not only that, but each character has a special move known as All-Star move which you can get during the race if you're lucky enough. They're pretty cool, though I might say some of them are a bit over-powered. Still, they're fun to use. Another thing I should point out are the game modes. While the single player modes are rather limited and there's not much to say about them (with the exception of Mission Mode which I'll cover in a moment), the ones on the split screen mode on the other hand, have a variety of different types of battle modes. As long as you have someone to play with, they can be a lot of fun. If there's anything I didn't like about the game or I just want to point out, I've listed all that below. - The tracks based on the Sonic series. All of them are taken from Sonic Heroes, which is fine, but I wish they'd put more effort into it. The only one that stands out is the DLC course Egg Hangar. It's a long one, but it's visually great. It even has Ristar located somewhere on the track (anyone remember that game?), as well as music from Shadow The Hedgehog, so thumbs up for this one. - The rocket start. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this varies by character. Sometimes you have to do it almost immediately after the countdown starts, while sometimes you have to wait at least a second before doing so. However, the thing that bothers me is that no matter how perfectly I do it, the AI somehow manages to drive much further than you do, especially in Time Trials. - Performing tricks. Sometimes when I press the , the character won't do it. It seems that the only way to do it is to press the button twice. At least, that's how I see it. - No exclusive characters. Other than Metal Sonic and Ryo Hazuki: Forklift (which Wii version didn't have, but the Xbox 360 did), I really wished that the PS3 version had at least one exclusive character, but no. Even the Xbox 360 version had Banjo & Kazooie (which I had forgotten till I saw the cover of it). - That jump on Highway Zero. Every time I raced on that track as Metal Sonic, somehow the game glitched and the trick after the second jump came delayed, which resulted in losing my boost. I tried it a few times, but it happened every time. With any other character, it won't happen. - The announcer. I only have one thing to say about him. "Come on, guys. Surely one of you wants to win?". Really? He has to say something random like that? So, the Mission Mode I mentioned earlier. This was the only part of the game that actually gave some challenge. While most of them were way too easy and some I passed after 2-3 attempts, I'd say the following three were the toughest ones for me. Spoiler - Mission 42: Often considered as the hardest mission in the game, this one isn't too bad once you know the route. However, getting the AAA rank is a pain. The jump at 0:42 is the worst. You need to drive at a certain speed or else you miss that time gate in the air. You also need to crash into that walkway to get the one below it. Otherwise, you won't get the rank. - Mission 47: The classic Shadow vs Sonic race, but boy, is getting the AAA rank hard. First of all, using that shortcut is a must. Otherwise, you won't get it. Even if you do that, Sonic somehow manages to catch up. He also doesn't use the boost pads, other than the one on the ramp. Finally, all the hazards are off and there are no items to rely on, so this mission is a combination of skill and luck. - Mission 64: The final mission, while not the hardest, is perhaps one of the most annoying ones. You're facing one of Eggman's robots and the objective is to defeat it before the time runs out. It's not too bad, but there are a couple of things to point out. First of all, the Item Boxes do NOT respawn. Once you pick the item, the box is gone, so you have to make sure every hit counts. You're allowed to miss a few times, but since you have to deal with the time limit as well, you might as well make sure that doesn't happen. Second, every time you restart, the boss changes the direction it's going. There's no way to predict it, so you have to play it safe. And in case it wasn't obvious enough, you must complete this mission without taking damage, in order to secure the AAA rank. Took me about 15 minutes worth of tries, but I was able to defeat it, with only 3 seconds on the timer. Also, what's up with the health bar? Your health is displayed as three strawberries in bubbles? Why not a regular health bar instead of something like this? And that's it. After 1,5 weeks, I've finally done everything. All the Grand Prixs, Time Trials and Missions are complete and the game is now 100%. Did I enjoy it? I sure did. The AI might've been random at times and there were a few annoying moments (mainly some of the missions), but since it's the first game in the series, I'll cut them some slack. It gets better in the next one. Speaking of the sequel, I might as well give the answer whenever I'm going to play Transformed or not. I'll pass on that for now. While I know it's the best of the three games and I welcome a good challenge, I don't think I'm capable of doing such, even with DLC installed. I might change my mind later, but I doubt it ever happens. On a side note, I did play the demo on the 3DS years ago, but never bought the game. Next project: continuing with another Sonic game. This time, it's something that I've never played before. And that game is: Spoiler Edited October 14, 2021 by MrGarland
Popular Post Quink666
#391 Alan Wake Remastered Platinum Trophy 5,79% Difficulty: / Fun: / Trophies: / Time to Plat: 17 Hours Alan Wake is my top 1 game of all time shared with Clive Barkers Jericho. Got all achievements on X360 back in the day. It was my first 100% on that platform. It was such a joy to replay this on Playstation this time, getting the platinum (Hopefully 100% today). Game is very unique in story telling and combat and i love every single aspect of it. Trophies are a mix of everything, beat all difficulties, complete encounters without taking critical damage, speedrun a chapter, pacifist playthrough of a chapter and weapon related trophies. No trophy is particularly hard and the game is about a 4/10 difficulty wise. Only thing i dislike is the amount of collectibles, it's a very short game with well over 200 collectibles. Even though the collectibles suck i can't recommend this game enough. 100 Coffee Thermoses out of 100 Edited October 13, 2021 by Quink666

I'm not sure exactly how many hours I put into this, but for the career mode alone I had to play 702 holes of golf. Actually, now that I think back, I think I had to play another 54 holes due to 2k servers being kind of shitty and freezing up at the end of a few rounds. Huge Tip: Turn off other player replays! The game hangs for long periods of time when it tries to show you highlights of other players, even on PS5. I'm guessing this saved me literally hours of downtime. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this one if you like golf. Lots of courses and unlockables. Now that I've done this one, I have the plat for Madden 21, NHL 21 and PGA 2K21. I see that the plat for Fifa 21 is unobtainable now, or I might have tried to get all the 21s! Nicely done, don’t forget NBA 2K21 and MLB The Show 21!

Popular Post Undead Wolf
#381 - The Bunker Platinum Trophy Acquire all trophies Honestly, this is probably the weakest FMV game I've played on PS4. I mean none of them have been *amazing*, but enjoyable in that B-tier movie kind of way. The best way I can describe The Bunker is that it's just kind of boring... It takes place in, you guessed it, an underground bunker, so it's quite drab and dreary. That in of itself isn't a bad thing, but the main character also happens to be the last survivor in said bunker, so there's not any interesting character interactions for you to deal with either. You kind of just wander around the bunker doing various tasks. Now there are flashback scenes interspersed throughout the game which inform you of what went down, but the twist (if you want to call it that) wasn't particularly well done. There wasn't even a good payoff at the end. You're given two choices, but you don't really get to see the outcome. It left a bad taste in my mouth. #382 - Yomawari: Night Alone The Night Alone Earned all other trophies This game was pretty neat. You play as a little girl in some backwater town. Some stuff happens, and then you're tasked with going out into the town and searching for your dog and sister in the dead of night. Along the way, you encounter various spirits who are all intent on killing you. Since you can't really fight back, most of the gameplay consists of trying to sneak/run past them, causing a distraction, hiding in bushes, etc. This isn't a game that holds your hand with objective markers and what not. You kind of just wander around the town looking for clues as to where your dog and sister have gone, which I thought was pretty cool. It has a great atmosphere and I enjoyed unravelling the mystery. As for the trophies, you get most of them by collecting the various items scattered throughout the town, the vast majority of which are optional. So in that sense, it's kind of like a collectible hunt. Some of the items are tied to unique spirits you have to deal with which were my favourites. For the most part, the trophy list is pretty good considering the kind of game it is. That is, apart from the trophy that requires you to play for 50 hours. Beating the game, picking up all the items, and getting all the other trophies took me around 7 hours of playtime, so asking to player to play for 50 hours in total is just ridiculous. It wasn't that bad for me because I have a PSTV that's easy enough to leave running, but I imagine it would have been a lot more annoying for someone who only owns a Vita. A very puzzling trophy, but that aside, this was a great game. I look forward to playing the next one in the series, Midnight Shadows.
Popular Post StraightVege
Cleave the Moon #275 Konami who? I can't seem to care about rumors of a new Castlevania game, when the series is already alive and well under a different moniker. Although the bad guy ain't Dracula, Curse of the Moon 2 is a nearly perfect throwback to the "partner system" Castlevania titles of old. In addition to the original returning cast of four, three new characters make their debut here, and you can freely switch between them to access a wide variety of unique abilities and sub-weapons, making for a lot of strategic quick-thinking as you traverse hazardous screens and take on massive bosses. Using the appropriate character and sub-weapon for the situation is even more important this time around, since it can mean the difference between a room or boss seeming impossible or effortless. To briefly go over the heroes: Zangetsu - The main character, this edgy swordsman is kind of basic to start, until he gets upgraded with Ninja Gaiden-like abilities later... then he can use the Devil Essence sub-weapon to become a boss-shredding machine. Dominique - Spear-wielding priestess with good reach, a downward pogo attack, and a high jump height. Can acquire a rare spell which resurrects defeated party members. Robert - Fragile sniper who can cling to walls and crawl; good for taking out certain enemies from afar, but underwhelming against bosses. His cannon sub-weapon is fairly strong, and can also be fired in mid-air to add jump height/distance. Hachi - Tanky but slow mech, capable of stomping through weak floors, bashing down metal barriers, and hovering short distances. Can trivialize tough rooms and bosses with his Invincible Iron ability, which makes him nearly invulnerable. Alfred - This old glass cannon wizard is still overpowered! His Voltaic Ray lightning spell melts bosses, while his fire barrier nullifies most projectiles. Just don't get hit, since he can't withstand more than a couple. Miriam - Protagonist of RotN; her basic whip attack has excellent reach, and its hitbox lingers for a while. She's also able to slide through low tunnels, and she jumps about as high as Dominique. Her axe sub-weapon is good for cutting down large enemies and cleaving big chunks of health off bosses. Alucard Gebel - Regal magician with a shotgun-esque energy attack, and the ability to transform into a bat, making navigation of otherwise scary screens a breeze. Can't absorb too much punishment, so keep him safe. They're all very fun and powerful to use, but I definitely got the least utility out of Dominique, who performed too similarly with Miriam. She still came in handy at times, though. Overall, the game was more challenging than its predecessor (in a good way), and there's a surprising amount of content to clear. Beating the game unlocks new scenarios, where you're restricted to certain character combinations, allowing you to explore tougher alternate routes through the stages, while bosses also change their attack patterns. It's such a clever way to increase difficulty, all the while squeezing a ton of mileage out of the same levels and bosses, without it ever getting stale. There's a Casual difficulty setting, too, which removes knock-back and grants unlimited lives, cutting out two design choices I never really enjoyed anyway. I didn't appreciate how you're forced to watch the same boss intro animations on every attempt, especially when some of them are a bit heavy on randomness, and it's hard to anticipate what attack they're about to do. Give me a skip button to reduce the frustration on retries, please. It was also a struggle to adjust to the committed jump arc again, which had me plunging into death pits more often than I'd like to admit. However, I can't recall anything else to complain about—this series satiates my Castlevania cravings quite nicely. Keep up the great work! Popular Post Darghel
#118 Borderlands Defender Round Two (Borderlands 2) Difficulty: Long and occasionally frustrating, but fun and chill otherwise! Time to Complete: about 3 months, with several breaks (100% completion) Recommended: Pretty much yeah! Base game score: 9 Total Score: after the review! WARNING: wall of text incoming! Welp, this was inevitable, after all this is still the best Borderlands game in the franchise and I can see why. For many years I've stuck playing the first, despite its lackings and other issues, so when BL2 came out I wasn't really into it, cause I liked the first so much I grew attached to it. My pc version has only 20 hours in it because I wanted to play more of the first! But at last, after fully finishing bl1 on ps4, as well as getting the platinum on ps3, I thought it was time to get back to BL2 and actually getting to finish it, especially when Bl3 is already out and Tiny tina's wonderland is not too far off. So what to say...it's basically more borderlands here: more loot, bigger areas (which is impressive considering this was a ps3 game) more enemies, more quests (I wish some were fewer), more bosses, more legendaries, just...more really! Bl1 was fun but it had the biggest flaw of just having nothing to do once you were done with it: there's only ONE raid boss, Crawmerax, while the rest of the bosses are hit or misses and usually don't drop anything particular. The 4 hunters were fun but their skills were kinda simplistic in their way, and corrosive damage was probably the biggest element you wanted to go. The 4 DLCs were fine (except Moxxi Underdome) but really I can safely say that while not ALL of BL2 dlcs are great, they're at least all good! Anyway, what I wanna say is that BL2 is great, definitely, a sequel that does the right thing on giving "more of the same", which they do: the 6 hunters are well defined but give quite a lot of variation, relics are different and nice, class mods are definitely stronger here and weapons have unique looks depending on their manufacturer, which is a nice touch! Like I said the areas are HUGE, which is something the first game definitely lacked too, and there's a lot of quests too, some very fun some...not as much, but I liked the variety, and the many areas are also very varied compared to the first, which only had a few - plus the DLC helps it making even more variation And lastly the story...well the first game basically had none so this game wins by default! Plus having an established villain like Handsome Jack definitely helps - can't say that Commander Steele in the first game was a good villain which is a shame because Knoxx was definitely a better villain. So yeah, this game is great, nothing bad to say...well...yeah about that I really need to say this, and I'm going to make some people mad about it, but I have to be honest: as much as I REALLY loved the game, there's just a truckload of problems that made this game a lot more frustrating than it should. I'm trying to say that this game felt like playing Dark Souls 2, where more doesn't always mean better...and it shows because while the first game had fewer weapons and enemies, it felt more streamlined. This game sometimes...actually pretty often...okay almost every time felt very confusing and extremely hard to follow, and not because it's hard but because there's just a lot of stuff that makes the game just more...unnecessary complex. A few examples come to mind, such as: -There are many legendaries this time, but their effects aren't explained AGAIN...why not giving a brief explanation? Especially when some aren't as obvious (it took me a while to know that the Amigo Sincero shoots through shields...I usually take the shields BEFORE I use that one!) -Many more quests, but did we need timed quests? Escort Quests? And EVEN MORE arena quests? -The difficulty spikes between difficulties is insane! Without the right weapon, you're going to die and it's hard when you usually overlevel in normal play and having a bunch of weak guns -Why adding Eridium as the currency to get upgrades when you have money? This makes money trivial in a game where money is basically useless by default! -The overall nerf of all elements (which were ALL viable in bl1) makes the game trickier since now I have to use the right gun for the right enemy. -And don't get me started on slag: I knew from the beginning when I saw it It was going to be trouble! An elemental that triples damage? Yeah, it's basically the FF13 stagger bar all over again. -Also, the overall huge hp and shield numbers, while cool, make small improvements hard to see: smaller numbers are generally easier to balance and easier to see improvements. And lastly, I kinda don't understand the story...I mean don't take me wrong, BL1 story is practically non-existent so this game beats that one, but I did honestly expect more from it. Handsome Jack is definitely a better villain than Steele or Knoxx but I kinda never understood why. The DLCs do a better job at improving on the story after the main game - and tales from the borderlands also help a lot - but I frankly didn't enjoy the BASE story as much as I thought. But the DLCs are fantastic and honestly, it made the whole game a lot better. And speaking of DLC, here's a brief review for each one of them! Spoiler Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty Difficulty: Raid bosses aside, it's fairly easy Time to Complete: around 5 to 10 hours Recommended: Yes Total Score: 8/10 Well, this is the first DLC pack and it starts pretty well! The new area is all about sand oceans and you get to drive a catch-a-boat! And I admit it looked pretty nice! And it drives absolutely great, definitely the best car in the game! The DLC isn't that long and only has a few areas, but the main character, Scarlett, is pretty fun and charismatic and her questline is pretty amusing. Too bad she just seem to disappear all of the sudden and that's it because she was very fun to have around. Overall a fairly easy DLC and if you're over-leveled like how I was this shouldn't be too problematic, as raid bosses don't scale to your level in this game (unlike BL1). Anyway, this was a fun ride, hopefully, it only gets better....right? MR. TORGUE'S CAMPAIGN OF CARNAGE Difficulty: VERY FRUSTRATING AND TERRIBLE QUESTS, BUT TORGUE IS IN IT SO IT'S COOL Time to Complete: AROUND THE SAME, WHICH IS TOO MUCH BUT IT'S OKAY CAUSE TORGUE IS IN IT Recommended: THERE'S TORGUE IN IT Total Score: EXPLOSIONS/10 FOR THE EXCEPTION OF SOME QUESTS THAT ARE UTTER SHIT - LIKE THE RACING ONE, OR THE TINA'S QUEST TO WALK THE SKAG - TORGUE'S PRESENCE IN THE GAME MAKES THE DLC AN EXPLOSIVE TRIP. TORGUE ALONE MAKES THE DLC AMAZING AND HIS EXPLOSIVE PERSONALITY JUST INFECTED ME WITH ALL CAPS SO I'M FORCED TO WRITE THIS WAY UNTIL I MOVE ON. STILL, THE DLC IS OKAY AND FAIRLY SHORT, BUT THEY REALLY SHOULD'VE TONE DOWN THE QUESTS AND TO BE HONEST, IT'S PRETTY UNREMARKABLE OTHERWISE - BUT IT'S GOOD FOR FARMING EXP AT THE BAR SO THAT HELPS. BUT THERE'S TINA AND TORGUE SO THAT'S ALRIGHT BECAUSE TORGUE AND TINA STAND FOR TNT THE MOST EXPLOSIVE OF ALL EXPLOSIVES! IT'S DEFINITELY A DOWNGRADE FROM THE PREVIOUS ONE SO IF I HAD TO GIVE IT A PROPER SCORE, IT WOULD BE 7/10 I WONDER IF YOU ARE READING THIS WITH THE VOICE OF TORGUE. YES, HE'S THAT AWESOME. AND HOPEFULLY, THE NEXT ONE IS JUST AS GREAT! Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt Difficulty: Annoying and overly long Time to Complete: around 2 days, give or take Recommended: Maybe Total Score: 6/10 Yeah this is probably the weakest of all the DLC, and I don't understand why: maybe because Hammerlock is kinda "meh" as a character - he's no Torgue - or maybe because the area was a pain to navigate, or maybe because a lot of quests were annoying fetch quests and killing rare enemies that made the whole DLC a chore...and I think that's why honestly, it's just very unremarkable and just makes you wanna end it real fast. Nakayama is the main antagonist of this DLC and even his presence was pretty much forced into it - no really, it was literally forced: Nakayama himself asked me if I wanted to hunt him down. But at least he's funny but not Torgue's and Tiny Tina's Funny. Honestly, this is probably the only DLC I didn't fully enjoy and I took forever to do it because it was THAT boring. I would recommend skipping it but it's at least doable and so far the dlcs only have 3 trophies, so it's manageable. I think the overall "hunting theme" and Hammerlock being the main protagonist here kinda make the whole DLC weaker, but that's just my opinion. Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep Difficulty: Hard but very enjoyable Time to Complete: around a day Recommended: YES Total Score: 10/10 Oh yeah, I was looking forward to this DLC the moment I saw online and other reviews: this is definitely THE best DLC in the whole game - and no kidding, it's so good that Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is basically a full game based on this DLC alone and for good reasons: it's basically a completely new game, almost, with new enemies, new textures, new everything! The enemies are all new, and the Lair of Infinite Agony (damn that's amazingly edgy) is probably the most dungeon-like area of the game, as it feels like a proper dungeon and not just a hallway, like most of the other areas of the game. Plus the story in it is amazing and helps developing Tina a lot, the humor is definitely there and TORGUE IS ALSO BACK - although for a short while - and it's just...great! This DLC alone made the game for me, honestly, because it's just so different and fun, but it also further develops the characters. It's just a fun ride from start to end and I was completely caught off guard after the reveal of the queen. Just stupid fun. And of course, another freaking arena quest with 6 quests (SIX) with each round being longer than the previous one, and the arena is full of traps that can insta-kill you aka restart from the start YES you need this for a trophy. Even at max level 80 this took me FOREVER and the arena is so annoying to navigate, It's really not worth it. Too bad because otherwise, this DLC is flawless. Still, I can't say it diminishes the whole experience so I'm keeping it out Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary Difficulty: Some annoying trophies and new enemies Time to Complete: several days Recommended: Yes Total Score: 8/10 If I'm correct this story is set AFTER Tales from the Borderlands and that's because of some returning characters in it, and it's the DLC meant to connect the second game to the third as you see some events that will lead to the next game. In either case, I think it's an okay DLC as there are some new enemies in it - the New Pandora soldiers are some of the hardest enemies I've fought, especially in OP10 - and I enjoyed some of its quests. But some parts weren't explained well, which are probably explained in the Tales from the Borderlands game, and the villain is pretty weak because he only appears a few times and then you just fight him. The biggest issue in this DLC is the trophies, however: besides having to beat a raid boss, again, the real issue is the all pearlescent gear that you must obtain, and while weapons can be obtained through a quest too the same can't be said for the shields or grenade mods, which can be harder to get (I did get an SMG AND a Grenade mod in my run, so I guess I was lucky). There are also a couple of missable trophies here but they're fairly easy to do and unless you purposedly miss them by NOT doing them, you should be fine. And with this, all DLCs are reviewed in short! So bottom line, I did enjoy the game but some choices made me scratch my head. The thing is that it felt like I was playing BL1 all over again, but with more things and more stuff, but more things and more stuff isn't always the good thing because it's easy to get crappy items and weapons that aren't worth it: I had times where I found a GREAT gun but it had a stupid side effect of consuming X more ammo per shot, making it very difficult to use. Or how one of my blue weapons had a weird effect that shoot upwards...forcing me to face down while shooting...and don't get me started on the Bane, a great fire weapon but with stupid downsides. All of this is fun at first but it gets frustrating when you are after good weapons, especially those with the right elements (you don't wanna know how many hours I spent grinding Infinity pistols or hellfire SMGs). And once you do you have to deal with the gunfights, which some can be fun thanks to new enemies...and some not so much. I dunno, maybe I'm just dumb, but I really wished the gunfights were more fun than just "shoot them before they 1 shot you", especially in higher difficulties where they can shoot you with insane accuracy (no really, they could shoot me through the tiniest fo gaps while covered, they're that crazy good). BL1 had flaws but it was the first game, the second game really feels similar but with a lot more stuff around it, and while it's great to have more content to do (lots of raid bosses, OP levels, truckloads of dlcs), I also wished they did some changes to the gunfights overall and make them feel different. But oh well, I'm probably the only one here complaining in this huge wall of text, and overall the trophies are also fine, nothing too hard (except the challenge one), so what I wanna say is that BL2 is THE sequel to the first game, with everything pretty much improved (except when it isn't) with a much better story (when there was none in the original) and also better dlc (there's no Moxxi Underdome, so it wins by default) So the final vote is going to be....ah screw it, this game is fine and I know I'm still gonna play it some more, so whatever: this game is fun, the trophies are doable, and if you have friends to play with it's an amazing experience. So yeah, sorry for the wall of text, but in the end despite all my whining and moaning, I do think this game is great: yes more isn't always better but considering what BL1 had, which was very little in comparison, this game is overall an improvement. Bottom line, I wasted your time, Torgue is awesome, Handsome Jack is funny until he wasn't, and the many DLC, contents and everything makes this game a very big package. I do plan to play BL3 and presequel but so far Borderlands 2 is THE definitive experience and I look forward to trying out new classes soon enough! Popular Post Karl-Kai
忍道2 散華 忍道制覇 Shinobido 2 is my favourite Vita game. I love the gameplay, settings, characters (except one), graphics, music --- all of it! So, when I saw a used copy of the Japanese version being sold for a reasonable price, I just got the urge to experience the game in its original language. As expected, it didn't really change things, but it painted the picture a little bit differently. Well, I like both of the versions. I would be so happy to get a new Shinobido game, be it with Zen or some completely new character, but I suppose this series is dead and buried. Resonance of Fate 4K/HD Edition Platinum Trophy This game might be my favourite PS3 game, so it was a no-brainer for me to pick up its HD release. I did a 100% run of the game much earlier, and then let it sit for a good while so my second run would feel fresh again and not just a rushed platinum chase. Of course, since I used the cleared save data, this playthrough was super quick in comparison to the previous one. It's awesome that this game made it to the PS4. It has so much soul and style to it, and besides being unique, it's gameplay is super fun!

In Sound Mind: #441 This game was really, really cool! The main antagonist was one of the coolest characters I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend especially if you’re playing horror games for October or if you just want to play something with a good story. Popular Post The Arizona Ranger
Nearly a month late with this one (completely forgot to post this), but better late than never: Platinum #17 - Ratchet & Clank [2016] (PS5 via the PS4 Disk) You chose a bad time to roll up in the wrong star system, chief... The Hero of Heroes (21.54% Rarity) First Trophy: Basically Training (Bronze) - April 11th, 2016 (11:35:03 AM PST) Last Trophy (which popped the Platinum): Death by Disco (Bronze) - September 18th, 2021 (11:14:06 PM PST) Gap (First to Last Trophy): 5 Years, 5 Months, 1 Week (April 11th, 2016 to September 18th, 2021 is 1,986 days) SOURCE: https://psnprofiles.com/trophies/4536-ratchet-clank/MossyOakRcn42 Game Review I originally beat the main story for this game all the way back in 2016, but ended up putting it down and turned my attention to other games in my collection at the time instead of going after the platinum trophy for the game. Back in 2016, I was more of a casual gamer who would play games for the experience and didn't worry about getting all of the trophies for the game I was playing so long as I was having fun with it. Sure, it was nice to earn trophies as I played the game, but back in those days I decided to play most games until I beat the main story, and then would move on to the next game. Earlier this year, I joined the special Project Platinum: Ratchet & Clank group here on the PSNP forums in the months after getting the platinum for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PS5) and decided to go back and replay the trophy-enabled Ratchet & Clank games for both the PS3 and PS4 in order to pop the platinum trophies for each one. The first one on my to-play list was the 2016 re-imagining of the original Ratchet & Clank game that was released on the PS4 around the time the Ratchet & Clank film launched. While the movie may have been a steaming pile of hot garbage (currently sits at 21% rating over on Rotten Tomatoes, with a ton of unfavorable and negative reviews), at least the game we got out of it turned out to be pretty enjoyable and another solid addition to the ranks of the Ratchet & Clank franchise. As mentioned earlier, Ratchet & Clank [2016] is a re-imagining of the original Ratchet & Clank game that launched on the Playstation 2 way back in 2002. While it may share some of the story beats, characters, weapons, and gameplay of the original game, the 2016 version of the game throws in new story elements, new characters (for example: Dr. Nefarious was never in the original 2002 game, yet they shoehorned a different version of him into the new edition of the game), new weapons, various improvements, and tweaks to the core gameplay that have appeared in the cascade of R&C games that have come out in the years since the first game launched. Unfortunately, I had sold my original copy of the game many years ago [sold it off to Gamestop in the Fall of 2016 with some other games in order to pick up some cash to put into Battlefield 1 (PS4)], so I hopped onto Amazon and picked up a used copy of the game (Used: Like New condition). On September 4th, my copy arrived in the mail and thus began my second experience with the game. I plowed through the main story, making an effort to pick up as many of the trophies that I could during that first playthrough before starting a second playthrough via the Challenge Mode). Fourteen days later, on September 18th, I finally managed to get the final trophy to pop (Death by Disco) and thus achieved my second-ever platinum trophy for a game in the Ratchet & Clank franchise. As a whole, this game was pretty fun to experience and spend time with. It may not be the best game in the franchise, but it is still a solid game with great weapons (had tons of fun forcing enemies to break out in spontaneous dancing via the Groovitron, then blowing them all to kingdom come with the devastating RYNO), various enemy types (from small and not dangerous all the way to massive and not afraid to demolish you in seconds) diverse levels (futuristic cities, snow-covered space fortress, a smog-choked world ruined by heavily-polluting Blarg factories, a tropical paradise with crystal blue waters, etc), fun side content (Hoverboard races, parts of the game where you fly around areas with Ratchet's spaceship shooting enemies), decent humor, and mostly lovable characters (I was annoyed they shoehorned Dr. Nefarious into this game, considering that he was never in the first game and didn't make his first appearance until the excellent Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal launched in 2004). I highly recommend this game to everyone who is a fan of the Ratchet & Clank franchise or enjoys blowing stuff up with an impressive arsenal of powerful weapons and unique gadgets. You shouldn't have too hard of a time beating this game, but going for the platinum does require some more effort on your part (it is up to you if you feel like investing roughly 20 to 30 hours doing so). As of today (Thursday), I am currently chipping away at Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus (PS3) in my quest to move up the leader board for the Project Platinum group I am participating in. Once I manage to get the platinum for Into the Nexus, next up will be Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time (PS3). Final Score (out of 10): 7.25/10 Difficulty to Platinum (out of 10): roughly 3/10 (takes a decent amount of effort in order to get every weapon fully upgraded, find all of the gold bolts, complete all of the side content, and get the somewhat annoying Death by Disco trophy to pop by Spoiler forcing every enemy type in the game to dance via the Groovitron during your time with the game). Popular Post Zircon_Lotus
Platinum #115 Atelier Escha & Logy Plus: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky Atelier Escha and Logy is the second part of the Dusk Trilogy. Atelier Ayesha ended up being one of my favorite Atelier. Is this game a worth sequel? Once again we visit the Dusk world, where the misuse of alchemy by the ancients caused irreparable damage to the environment and life is very hard. This time we follow Escha, a novice alchemist and government officer in Colseit, on the frontier, alongside Logy, newcomer from Central City, working toward the ultimate goal of reaching the mysterious Unexplored Ruins. Like in Ayesha, this game is also more mature than the Arland and Mysterious trilogies. Obviously the cute moments are there, but there are often heavy topics because of the state of the world. I would even dare say that there are tear inducing moments. Changing protagonists does not change the story, but there are some scenes and events exclusive to each one. While the main story is good, I think the characters events are a bit weak. There are many times where I smile or even laugh with the events from previous games, but on this one I felt most of them very bland. Interactions near the end of the game get better, but it was done better on other games. The artistic part of the game is outstanding. Once again we have very beautiful illustrations with the same art style used on Atelier Ayesha, which might be my favorite style from the 3 series. And they did not lack on the musical departament. We are greeted with a very good OP, rivalizing with the amazing one from Ayesha, and then with the touching and beautiful main theme that plays during the main title screen, that has an amazing illustration btw. The themes used are also very good. Atelier games always have good OST, but maybe this one takes the cake has the best one. The battle system, often overlooked, is good like always. Apparently the one used in Lydie and Suelle was heavely inspired by the one used in this game, because they are very similar. The alchemy system is a great improvement over the overcomplicated one from Ayesha, but I think it is too OP. It is very easy to make items with powerful traits (called properties on this one), even early on. If this makes the game too easy, at least it is fun to use, specially while synthesing your ultimate gear and items. Sadly there are bad things about this game. The first one is the localization. There are plenty of misspelled sentences, but the worse are items descriptions. Many of them are extremely vague, and there is a serious mistranslation problem. On your first synthesis you will notice a Recovery L effect. You will get surprised, because actually the effect is small, and not large. Sadly it is like this on all effects: everything that is S, supposed a small, weak effect, is actually large, and the contrary is true. A serious and lazy problem that I dont understand how it was overlooked. The second is the performance. With the DX version and Vita not being popular, I think few people will have this problem, but this game runs on low FPS. I would say 30 at good moments, and 20~25, even reaching 15 at moments. Platinum-wise this follow the trend of easier platinums after the Arland trilogy. Character events are missable, but as long as you switch your party members and pay attention to the quick travel menu there is no way to miss anything. You need two playthroughs because of character exclusive events, plus the true ending is only achievable on a 2nd playthrough, besides the gender specific ending. The "super"boss on this game is the easiest from all Ateliers that I played until now. The worst part is grinding to lvl 99, but this takes less than 2 hours, there are far worse grinds on JRPGs. Atelier Escha and Logy is another amazing entry on this very good series, even if not as good as Ayesha. Even if the side events are weak, the art, gameplay and the main story are very strong. Personally I dont think this is the best entry point for the series for a newcomer, but play the PS4 version if you are interested. I dont know if they corrected the poor localization, but at least the FPS should be better. .
